RAVEN BLACK Unleashes Dual Darkness with Releases of CRY OF THE RAVEN & DEAD

Step into the twisted carnival not once more but twice more. Raven Black, the darkly theatrical metal phenomenon, is about to shatter reality with two devastating new releases: Cry of the Raven and Dead. Known for blending metal’s ferocity with a Tim Burton-esque world of eerie fantasy, Raven Blackis ready to deliver their most intense, emotionally charged, and sonically powerful work to date.

Following years of captivating fans with their unique “dark carnival metal” sound, Raven Black returns sharper, heavier, and more fearless than ever. Cry of the Raven promises a soaring, sinister journey through rage, resilience, and redemption—driven by bone-crushing riffs, haunting melodies, and Raven’s unmistakable voice cutting through the storm. Dead sinks even deeper, exploring mortality, loss, and the shadows of the soul with a theatrical ferocity that only this band can conjure.

CRY OF THE RAVEN

Song is about Raven’s hidden struggle with the demands and pressure while undergoing her own personal and private depression and illness. The stuff people don’t see or know the truth about.

We all have some kind of suffering in silence.

We are never alone in it but we sometimes choose to

keep it hidden.

Meet RAVEN BLACK, a theatrical metal act originally from Los Angeles. Their unique brand of metal, influenced by gothic, classical, and heavy metal music, serves as the soundtrack to vocalist Raven's duality as she shares her story of being a hybrid of both dark and light.

Drawing from a myriad of musical inspirations, RAVEN BLACK expertly blends elements from their favorite art forms, including movies, ethnic backgrounds, and personal life experiences. Each song is crafted to take fans on an adventure, offering new perspectives and understandings. Their sound ranges from melodic to dark, fun to raging and psychotic—yet every track tells a story.

At the heart of their narrative lies a comic book character: a girl whose innocence was taken at a young age. Overcoming her demons and cursed by her predators, she discovers she is half human, half doll. The doll within her is dark, and as she embraces her inner darkness, she travels with her demons who protect her from those seeking to steal her inner power.

She is the key.

TSS Share "DEAD!" (Feat. CVLTE) Video

FEARLESS RECORDS recently welcomed French metal alchemists TSS (formerly The Sunday Sadness) to the label's global roster.

The band has steadily built a reputation with its innovative blend of emo, metalcore, alternative rock, and synthwave. They've recently added elements of phonk and neo-metal to their sonic blend. The band was founded in 2016 by Kirby, who sought to combine his emo and metalcore roots into a fresh new sound. The band quickly solidified its lineup with John on guitar and vocals, and Hugo on Drums.

Today, they've shared the video for  "DEAD!" (Feat. CVLTE), which is their second single for their new label home.

Watch it below.

TSS bring the synths and the riffs on their new song "DEAD," featuring Japanese group CVLTE. The song gets an added dose of heat from the layered vocals and lyrics which are partially sung in the band's native French language. All of these elements make for a truly cross-cultural metalcore anthem that cycles through multiple moods and tempos, as well as different genres, like pop and nu metal, in the space of a few minutes. The guitars have infinite girth, while the catchy chorus "I'm addicted to the pain" will wrap around your cerebral cortex and stay there. The quiet-loud dynamics and the industrial crunch that defines the closing breakdown are as explosive as it gets. TSS will take you to plenty of musical spaces and places on "DEAD."

"Our new single, 'DEAD!,' marks a turning point for us," the band states. "After years of mutually admiring each other's work and wanting to evolve the emo scene on our respective continents, we've finally joined forces with the Japanese band CVLTE. Since 2019, we've been exchanging, sharing our inspirations and visions for the future of the genre."

TSS further say, "'DEAD!' is the fruit of this unique collaboration: a song that blurs boundaries, fusing our influences and musical identities to redefine what alternative rock music can be today. This collaboration goes beyond music; it represents the union of two worlds passionate about alternative genre, fueled by two different cultures."

Regarding the accompanying video, the band says, "Shooting the video here in Europe, with [singer] Aviel by our side, was a powerful experience, symbolizing the culmination of several years of connection and creation. The result of this teamwork is DEAD! A powerfull hit radio song about toxic relationships, that mixes trap, metalcore, and cloud rap. In addition to the music, we have forged a strong friend relationship with CVLTE. This collaboration is just the beginning of long series of other featuring between the two bands."

It follows "Killing Me," their debut single for their new label. The visual is inspired by The Matrix and '00s-era horror films, and it will transport you to the glory days of aughts art. Watch it here.

In December 2023, a track that topped iTunes rock charts and caught the attention of many labels. In September 2024, having signed a deal with Fearless Records.

TSS's journey, characterized by constant innovation and genre-blending, has positioned them as a rising force in the modern metal scene, with a growing fanbase across diverse musical communities.
