Elle King Headlines Series Premiere of New Series, CMT Live, Today at 4pm CT

Artist-songwriter Elle King headlines the launch of CMT’s new digital series, CMT Live. The new performance series debuts today, Thursday, Nov. 7 at 4 pm CT across CMT’s social platforms.

The kick-off episode will celebrate the return of the epic series Yellowstone, which premieres Nov. 10. King’s set includes her song “Ain’t Gonna Drown,” featured in season three of the highly acclaimed Western drama.

“I was so honored to be asked to do the premiere episode of CMT Live to celebrate the return of Yellowstone,” said King. “I got to strip back a few of my favorites, including “Ain’t Gonna Drown,” which was featured on the show a few seasons back. And to get to shoot it at the American Legion Post 82 in East Nashville was like a homecoming since I did my album release show and shot the video for ‘Drunk’ there.”

The show also includes “High Road,” King’s new song about exploring life's contradictions, choices and the hazy journey to self-realization. Of the song, Music Row Magazine said, “This performance sets her in stone as a country artist. Country, country, country and cool.”

DUSTIN LYNCH’S KILLED THE COWBOY TOUR SELLS OUT STANDING OVATION-WORTHY KICKOFF AT NASHVILLE’S RYMAN AUDITORIUM

Just days after being direct support on a two month-run on Blake Shelton’s BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR, MULTI-PLATINUM star Dustin Lynch has launched his much-anticipated KILLED THE COWBOY TOUR, in support of his statement-making sixth studio album. Marking his first-time headlining the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, Tuesday night (4/2), the Tullahoma-native brought a SOLD-OUT standing ovation-worthy start to the 18-date trek that continues through next month with opener Skeez.

“We’ve been saying this for weeks. Literally, a bunch of times every day we’ve looked at each other on the bus and we’re like, ‘We’re headlining the Ryman!’ Not only that, you guys SOLD OUT the Ryman for us! That’s awesome,” shared Lynch onstage. “Thank you for spending your hard-earned money to be here with us tonight. That does not go unnoticed. A lot of our families are here tonight, and we get to support our families because you support our songs, our music, and our concerts – and we love you for it. Thank you very much for that.”

Adding the biggest production he’s ever brought on the road to the historic stage with a setlist curated from Killed The Cowboy (Broken Bow Records), including his current single and Jelly Roll collaboration “Chevrolet” that’s Top 30-and-climbing at Country radio, Lynch also pulled from his career batch of nine #1s like “Stars Like Confetti,” “Small Town Boy,” and “Good Girl” – a special shout-out to his mom who was in the audience, as it’s her favorite song. Keeping the celebration going post-show, Lynch hosted an official after-party at PBR Nashville, where he tried his hand at guest bartending, popped up behind the DJ booth, and even had a line dance dedicated to album release “Honky Tonk Heartbreaker” by the bar staff.

Tickets are selling fast as Lynch’s KILLED THE COWBOY TOUR stacks major city appearances in Charlotte, NC, Minneapolis, MN, Boston, MA, St. Louis, MO, and more, before capping off May 11 at Harrah's Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs, IA. Find full tour information and purchase tickets here. Since releasing his breakout debut album in 2012, he has become one of the most successful, recognizable, and dependable faces in Country music. Next up, Lynch is vying for CMT PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR for his fiery play of “Thinking ‘Bout You” featuring MacKenzie Porter (from CMT Campfire Sessions) at the 2024 “CMT MUSIC AWARDS.” Watch the nominated performance below. Tigirlily Gold Named to CMT’s “Next Women of Country” Class as “I Tried A Ring On” is One of the Most-Added at Radio

The Billboard-dubbed “harmonically savvy sibling duo” Tigirlily Gold unveiled a new, dynamic side to their songwriting with the arrival of their vulnerable, heartfelt anthem “I Tried A Ring On” on Jan. 5. Reeling in over half a million streams in its first week, “I Tried A Ring On” impacted country radio on Jan. 22 as one of the most-added singles, with 47 first-week adds.

“We are so grateful country radio has embraced ‘I Tried a Ring On’ right off the bat,” sisters Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh share. “We believe in this song so much and its ability to empower people going through heartbreak. We can’t wait to see where this song takes us.”

As the duo’s music continues to resonate with fans – their previously released upbeat single “Shoot Tequila” reached top 40 at country radio and has received more than 40 million streams to-date – their standout harmonies have garnered recognition across the industry, with CMT unveiling them as part of their “Next Women of Country” 2024 class.

“I Tried A Ring On” was written by Kendra and Krista, alongside Pete Good and Josh Jenkins, and produced by Pete Good. Inspired by the sisters’ real-life heartbreak, the song adds a new layer of depth to their evolving story, as Country Now notes the song allows the girls “ to show their audience what they are truly capable of, both as singers and songwriters.”

With a message that is sure to resonate with anyone who has felt the heartbreak of love’s false starts and showcases the duo's versatility through their compelling songwriting and knack for storytelling, “I Tried A Ring On” is another taste of new music to come. Bringing the girl power energy back to country music, stay tuned for more from Tigirlily Gold throughout 2024. About Tigirlily Gold:
Sister duo Tigirlily Gold has been playing music together since they could walk, and officially formed their band in high school. Growing up, they crisscrossed the mid-west, growing a fierce fan base and selling out amphitheaters across their home-state of North Dakota. After moving to Nashville, they landed a weekly residence at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on Nashville’s famed lower Broadway. Playing four-hour sets, three to four nights a week, the sisters developed a performance style that’s not only captivating and fun but shows just how entertaining is in their blood. After releasing their original song “Somebody Does,” in 2021, the track topped the iTunes chart and Tigirlily Gold was signed to Monument Records. They released their self-titled, debut EP in July 2021, working with multi-Grammy Award Winner Shane McAnally, and hit the road with artists like Walker Hayes and Ashley McBryde. Now, the powerhouse duo has embarked on a new musical chapter with their EP, Blonde –a deeply personal project that includes tales of love and loss alongside powerful anthems and songs of female empowerment. Their debut single at country radio, “Shoot Tequila,” reached the Top 40 and found viral success with millions of views across social media, and millions of streams across platforms. Their much anticipated follow up single “I Tried A Ring On” is at Country radio now. After making their Grand Ole Opry debut and performing to a national audience on the “TODAY Show,” Tigirlily Gold is ready to bring girl group energy back to country.

Jason Nix Premieres "Mary Wanna" Music Video Exclusively With CMT

Continuing a year of impressive firsts, from his first ACM Award win for Song of the Year (as a co-writer on Lainey Wilson’s Gold-certified No. 1 hit “Things A Man Oughta Know”) to the first glimpse at his forthcoming concept project via lead single “Mary Wanna,” singer-songwriter Jason Nix continues to build momentum as an artist in his own right today, June 17, with the first music video off the project. Debuting the “Mary Wanna” music video exclusively with CMT, Nix offers a further introduction to the characters that will color his full story later this year. Watch HERE.

“I didn’t grow up with cable, so I never got to watch music videos. That made hearing my music behind one even more special for me,” the Nashville-born and South Mississippi-raised singer-songwriter shared with CMT of the video directed by Caitlin McNaney and shot/edited by Corey Miller. “I hope that it makes people interested in what’s coming next for these characters. We dropped a couple of Easter eggs in this video that will make more sense as we release more music!”

Released in May as the first introduction to the EP Nix plans to release in the coming months via Jody Williams Songs/Warner Chappell Music, ‘Mary Wanna’ is a windows-down, singalong tribute to the renegade title character and all the women living life on their own terms that she represents.

“‘Mary Wanna’ is the song that got my wheels turning again on releasing music as a solo artist. I love the way it makes me feel,” reflects Nix of the track produced by Chip Matthews. “I’ve always wanted to do a concept album and ‘Mary Wanna’ paints a very clear picture of what Mary’s role will be in this story. She’s a rebel who feels trapped by her parents’ idea of who she should be; she feels smothered by her community’s expectations of how a young woman should act. She is desperately looking for the freedom to find out who she is, even if it means breaking some hearts along the way.”

About Jason Nix
Born in Nashville and raised in South Mississippi, Jason Nix grew up on a blend of his musical father’s Bluegrass and his mother’s love of Motown while introducing his own passion for Classic Rock into the mix. It’s no surprise then that his return to Music City just after high school led to the creation of a sound all his own, driven by his strengths as both a guitar player and a lyricist. 17 years later, having established himself as an award-winning, in-demand songwriter and earning cuts from artists ranging from Keb’ Mo’ to Lainey Wilson (including the recent ACM Song of the Year “Things A Man Oughta Know”), Nix now presents himself as a must-hear artist with brand-new release “Mary Wanna.” Written by Nix together with Driver Williams as the first in a series of concept songs coming soon, the song introduces the free-spirited character of Mary while also introducing Nix himself.
