: L.A.-Based Emo Supergroup Car Underwater Unleash Video for Cathartic New Single"Waiting (For The Rope To Slip)"

Whether it's from their triumphant debut EP Dagger Breaks Window, from their recent UK debut supporting Bring Me The Horizon's Count Your Blessings anniversary shows, or their impending tour with fellow rising stars Static Dress and I Promised The World, CAR UNDERWATER have had their hands in all things emo. Now, to satiate fans along the way, they deliver "Waiting (For The Rope To Slip)." It's an angular anthem that builds up to the breakdown.

Watch the video below.

The single arrives ahead of the sleeper-hit emo tour of 2026, which is not to be missed. Supporting genre juggernaut Static Dress alongside fellow metalcore rising stars I Promised The World, the Injury Episode USA Tour kicks off November 4 in Detroit and will hit a slew of major cities including Portland, Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, and New York, NY, with appearances from special guests Concealer, Sherane, and septemberistheonlytimeidontthinkofyou.

Comprised of vocalist Max Epstein (Photographic Memory, Wisp, Jane Remover), guitarist Sonny Foster, drummer Zach CapittiFenton (Photographic Memory, Wisp), bassist Nolan Nunes(Ghostemane) and Australian producer, keyboardist, and vocalist Darcy Baylis(Ninajirachi, daine, After), the band taps into the nostalgia receptors via inspiration from third-wave emo icons such as From First To Last, Underoath, and Thursday, all the while exploring thoroughly contemporary song structures and techniques to bring sounds from the past firmly into the future. The result is their own DNA-distinct sound that is destined to break through in 2027.

L.A.-Based Emo Supergroup Car Underwater Release Live Visual For "Heaven In Hindsight" + More

Car Underwater are a new, LA-based supergroup fueled by the emotionally-charged sounds of their formative years. Comprised of vocalist Max Epstein(Photographic Memory, Wisp, Jane Remover), guitarist Sonny Foster, drummerZach Capitti-Fenton (Photographic Memory, Wisp), bassist Nolan Nunes(Ghostmane) and Australian producer, keyboardist, and vocalist Darcy Baylis(Ninajirachi, daine, After), the band taps into the nostalgia receptors via inspiration from third wave emo icons such as From First To Last, Underoath, and Thursday while exploring thoroughly contemporary song structures and techniques to bring sounds from the past firmly into the future. Their recently released debut EP Dagger Breaks Window is the perfect introduction to their sound; emotionally heavy yet highly combustible, packed full of ideas that instantly break Car Underwater out of the contemporary emo blueprint.

To celebrate the forthcoming shows, the band has unveiled a brand new live visual for "Heaven In Hindsight," filmed in Los Angeles. The Dagger Breaks Window highlight’s high-energy screamo provides the perfect window into Car Underwater's raucous live energy; a raw, passionate burst of emotion that leaves everything on the stage while highlighting the technical side of their performances.

With highly anticipated support shows at Bring Me The Horizon's live premiere of their debut album Count Your Blessings this month in Manchester, Car Underwater have announced a number of performances across select UK venues. Performing tracks across their debut EP and providing a taste of what's to come, the band will take to London's Barfly (formerly Camden Assembly) for their first EU performance on July 7, before a stop at Bristol's The Croft on the 8th, Leeds’ legendary Boom venue on the 9th before the tour is punctuated by two shows alongside Bring Me The Horizon at Manchester's B.E.C. Arena alongside Static Dress, Dying Wish, Rolo Tomassi, Heriot, Still In Love and Showing Teeth, before concluding the run at Prague’s Creepy Teepee Festival on July 12. All dates are below.
