"Power and passion.... Stunning and impressive – A sublime unforgettable creation" ~ The Spill Magazine

"It's been a long time since I heard a new song that felt this big, this wide-screen, this epically cinematic... the discernment and grit of the rock world, the accessibility and earwormery of the pop world, and edging ever so slightly into more progressive realms" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Impeccably arranged and produced... a perfectly-balanced and finely-sculpted nest of sonic intensity" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Towering classic rock pyrotechnics... a sky-scraping juggernaut propelled by muscled Eddie Van Halen-like guitar riffage, a mighty jackhammer inflamed with Lisa Tingle‘s passionate and soulful vocals" ~ Turn Up The Volume

Austin-based rock duo The Caughtery presents their debut Self-Titled EP, released on July 15. Mixed by the legendary Tim Palmer (Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, Tin Machine, The Mission, HIM, U2, Pearl Jam), who jointly produced it together with David Gayler, this EP was recorded by Lee Jackson at Studio71West near Austin. Tim Palmer also contributes guitar on this debut single.

The Caughtery is long-time Austin music veterans Lisa Tingle and David Gayler, whose debut effort is a powerful contemporary rock offering, influenced by musical threads running from the 60s through 00s, presents a series of “musical paintings”, expressing the pressure and fragility of the human state over the last two years.

This EP features contributions by Ricky Phillips (of Styx and previously with Coverdale/Page, Bad English, The Babys, Angel), bassist Brian Lippman and drummer Tom Brechtlein, who has performed with Chick Corea, Kenny Loggins, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Al DiMeola, Jean-Luc Ponty and Rickie Lee Jones.

“After two years of being sequestered, we are finally able to release our 5-song EP to the world. With a common thread throughout the EP and the support from our fellow musicians, each song has its own musical place and we hope you enjoy listening to them,” says David Gayler.

Ahead of their new Americana-rock focus track '99MPH', the duo teased two powerhouse singles - 'Fragile' and 'The Uninvited'.

“The song 99MPH is about how you can control love just about as well as you can control the weather… YOU CAN’T!  And how the one you fall in love with can affect you in a multitude of unexpected ways… Often times you are like a ship tossed about on the ocean, in a hurricane,” says Lisa Tingle.

Two musical soul-searchers originally hailing from opposite coasts, Tingle and Gayler both grew up in musical families. Lisa and David's shared diverse musical loves (rock, indie, fusion, jazz, blues and R&B) sparked a genuine connection, their mutual addiction for creating unique music ultimately moving their storytelling note by note.

The duo originated in 2020, when David called Lisa to record a song that fit her vibe. What started out as a one-off collaboration ultimately turned into a full EP of material under the name The Caughtery. On this debut EP, Lisa’s lyrics explore such themes as relationships, new and old, the passing of friends and the state of our world today.

Described as a mix of Robert Plant, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, Tingle has received multiple honors at the Austin Music Awards (Female Vocalist of the Year, Band of the Year, Best Song, Musician of the Year, Album of the Year0. She's also toured and performed with many legends, including Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble, Eric Johnson, Stephen Bruton, Monte Montgomery and Marcia Ball.

Launching her music career in LA, gigging and working in publishing to record songs submitted to the likes of Tina Turner and Dolly Parton, she formed the band Black Pearl upon moving to Texas, signing with Capitol Records. She again worked in publishing, singing for TV and radio, films and songwriters, and landing placements on such shows as 'Beverly Hills 90210' and 'Melrose Place'. She contributed to several soundtracks with Ray Benson, including Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 'Universal Soldier', followed by work on 'Miss Congeniality' and 'Spy Kids 3'. She's released six solo albums to wide acclaim and ample international airplay, including on BBC Radio.

David Gayler is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and studio owner based in Spicewood, Texas. Having moved here from New York in the mid-80s, Gayler has been in various bands over the years, opening for such notable artists as The Romantics, Charlie Sexton and Jerry Jeff Walker, and was also a member of the Party Band during MTVs journey down to Texas in the late 1980s

As of June 17, 'The Uninvited' single is available everywhere digitally, including such platforms as  Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon.  The full self-titled EP will be released on July 15.

"An impeccably arranged and produced backdrop. Tingle's vocal versatility and soulfulness sit perfectly within a perfectly-balanced and finely-sculpted nest of sonic intensity" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Cinematic rock duo The Caughtery (a duo of long-time Austin music veterans Lisa Tingle and David Gayler) have released their debut single 'Fragile', a stunning preview of their debut eponymous EP.

This contemporary rock offering, influenced by musical threads running from the 60s through 00s, presents a series of “musical paintings”, expressing the pressure and fragility of the human state over the last two years.

This debut effort features drummer Tom Brechtlein, who brings a rich experience with him, having performed with Chick Corea, Kenny Loggins, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Al DiMeola, Jean-Luc Ponty and Rickie Lee Jones, among others. It also involves bass contributions by Brian Lippman and Ricky Phillips (of Styx and previously with Coverdale/Page, Bad English, The Babys, Ted Nugent, Angel).

Two musical soul-searchers born just 5 days apart and originally hailing from opposite coasts, Tingle and Gayler both grew up in musical families.

Described as a “Female Robert Plant” with the power of Janis Joplin and the soul of Aretha Franklin, Lisa Tingle has received multiple awards over the past decade at the Austin Music Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Band of the Year, Best Song, Musician of the Year, and Album of the Year. She has toured and performed with many legendary acts, such as Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble, Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), Eric Johnson, Stephen Bruton, Monte Montgomery and Marcia Ball.

Having launched her music career in LA, Lisa gigged, recorded, and was also a session vocalist for writers at Almo-Irving Publishing (part of A&M Records), singing songs submitted to the likes of Tina Turner and Dolly Parton. Moving to Texas, she formed the rock band Black Pearl and landed a record deal with Capitol Records, her songs catching the attention of TV producers with placements on 'Beverly Hills 90210' and 'Melrose Place'. She again worked in publishing, singing for TV and radio commercials, films and songwriters. She contributed to several soundtracks with Ray Benson, including Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 'Universal Soldier', followed by work on Sandra Bullock’s 'Miss Congeniality' and Robert Rodriguez’s 'Spy Kids 3'. She has released six solo albums to wide acclaim and ample international airplay, including on Britain's BBC Radio.

David Gayler is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and studio owner based in Spicewood, Texas. Born in upstate New York, Gayler relocated to Texas in the mid-80s to attend college. Having started out on piano, he eventually transitioned to his beloved instruments - acoustic and electric guitar. A member of various bands throughout his musical career, he has opened for such notable artists as The Romantics, Charlie Sexton and Jerry Jeff Walker, in addition to being a member of the Party Band during MTVs journey down to Texas in the late 1980s

PENTRAL 'The Shell I'm Living In' (prog rock/metal, produced by TIM PALMER)

"Haunting, cavernous, mysterious, heavy and dark... Purveyors of a huge sound with a loaded message" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Ambitious... a pounding reality-based offering" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Quest for spiritual healing and dealing with the highs and lows of life and toxic people. It touches upon how hard is to cope with grief and loss and how rewarding it is to bounce back from rock bottom" ~ Prog Magazine

"Pentral take the listener into the Amazon, its beauty, punctuated with atmospheric sounds of nature pulled directly from the rainforest, through all the harsher elements, unveiled through the heavier deliverance of 12 pulsating tracks" ~ American Songwriter

"Fine specimen of dark and haunting metal rock, the power of which is amplified through atmospheric background vocal contributions throughout" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"An orchestral/progressive style that is hard to attain. Beyond the progressive sound, however, is that original set of three personalities only found in the best power trios" ~ Jammerzine

Like an unstoppable train, Brazilian progressive rock / metal trio Pentral power ahead with their new single 'The Shell I'm Living In' from their debut long-player 'What Lies Ahead of Us'. This 10-track LP saw legendary producer Tim Palmer (Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie's Tin Machine, The Mission, HIM, U2, Pearl Jam) co-producing with Pentral, Sergio Fouad and Cesar Bottinha. Palmer also mixed the LP, which was mastered by Justin Shturtz (HIM, The Psychedelic Furs, Nancy Wilson, Slipnot, Tin Machine).

Hailing from Belém in northern Brazil, Pentral is Victor Lima (vocals, guitars, songwriter, lyrics), Vagner Lima (drummer) and Joe Ferri (bass guitar). This album exposes the tragic reality of many Amazon dwellers, whose habitat, lifestyle and livelihood are brutally taken from them, not to mention the destruction of the forest itself. Through their videos and lyrics, Pentral tells the story about this violence and pilfering of the Amazon's natural habitat.

"One of the chapters of our debut album 'What Lies Ahead Of Us', the child and her mother in mourning after the death of her husband, roam around the city. It is meditative and emotional, but also fierce and energetic. An inspirational rock song to make you think and get some extra strength, thinking about the huge challenges many people face around the world," says Victor Lima.

"Poverty and hunger have no specific place or country. All around the world you see people who are socially deprived due to a lack of food, health, freedom, education and many other needs. In Brazil is no different and we’ve never been worse than we are now. In our “story” describing the daily reality – the mother and her child after running away from the forest that is being burned down and try to survive inthe city, facing hunger and all sorts of harassment, with a spiritual presence always around them."

Earlier, Pentral released high-energy singles 'No Real Colour In Souls', 'Aiming For The Sun', 'All My Wounds' and 'Silent Trees' - the sonic launching pad into a concept album reflecting on today's society, presenting the saga of a lowly couple fighting for their lives and sanity. The accompanying video sequence was filmed in their native Amazon – a dedicated saga unfolds, track by track. Directed and edited by Roger Elarrat and produced by Luana Klautau, this also involves Lucas Escócio as director of photography, this video features actors Anne Costa, Guto Galvão, Eduarda Cursino, Boris Knez and Aldo Lima.

The lyrics speak about loss. The kid and her mother are wandering around the forest as they know they have to get out and try to go on with their lives somewhere away from that place. Racism is clearly portrayed on the song as well. This is an odious plague that still chases up the human beings and that have to be confronted. It’s a quite introspective song! It resonates with the name of the band – Pentral, which means Soul. At the end of the day, this is what we really are – a Soul, before, during, and after our material existence.

Their unique take on alternative rock can be described as progressive, heavy, groovy and melodic, while the band also deliver a strong political message about what is going on in Brazil and all over the world.

Pentral stands for 'spirit' in Latin, indicative of the message this band is trying to inspire via their sound - the need to transcend this material world through the power of music, without losing connection with reality and human frailties.

Deeply influenced by their Amazon roots, Pentral's music is influenced by many global influences while also striving to honor Brazil's groove and unique harmonies, progressive rock, metal music, atmosphere and melody. This debut album sums up years of experimentation and the search for human awareness of the environment, peace and equality.

"The album 'What Lies Ahead of Us' is like a "declaration" and it was conceived way before COVID-19 came out...But it kind of fits the current reality we´re going through. This pandemic is the outcome of the unfriendly way we've been treating our environment and ourselves as well, and it served to expose our insensitivity, our lack of empathy,"says Pentral frontman Victor Lima.

"It's a story about a man and a woman who lives in the woods. The forest is invaded by a group of mercenaries (pretty common in Brazil) in order to burn the woods down and make money with that, the man is killed, the woman manages to survive and she is pregnant, then she gives birth to a girl, and They try to survive in the city, experiencing racism, violence, hunger, selfishness, indifference. The only thing they have - they love each other. So, the elements of the story - environment being destroyed, people suffering discrimination by the color of their skin, by the place where they came from, being selfish and violent for the sake of their own interests and prejudices, politics and religion abuse and extremism and the only way I believe things could be solved - the power of love."

'What Lies Ahead of Us' album is out now everywhere digitally, including Apple Music and Spotify. It can be ordered via https://pentral.lnk.to/ WhatLiesAheadOfUs or via Amazon.

Brazil prog rockers PENTRAL dig deeps on Tim Palmer-mixed single 'All My Wounds'

"Fine specimen of dark and haunting metal rock, the power of which is amplified through atmospheric background vocal contributions throughout... a warranted foreboding of things to come" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Haunting, cavernous, mysterious, heavy and dark – these are all words that can be used to describe the debut single from Brazilian alternative rockers Pentral... Purveyors of a huge sound with a loaded message"~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A style all their own and an orchestral/progressive style that is hard to attain but easy for them to achieve. Beyond the progressive sound, however, is that original set of three personalities only found in the best power trios" ~ Jammerzine

Brazilian progressive rock / metal trio Pentral have released their 'All My Wounds' single, not long after debuting 'Silent Trees', the lead track from their debut album 'What Lies Ahead of Us', which will be released in May 2021. This album is a reflection on today's society, presenting the saga of a lowly couple fighting for their lives and sanity.

For the ten tracks comprising this album, the trio worked with legendary producer Tim Palmer (David Bowie's Tin Machine, The Mission, HIM, U2, Robert Plant, Tears For Fears, Ozzy Osbourne, Goo Goo Dolls, Pearl Jam).

Hailing from Belem in the north of Brazil, Pentral is made up of Victor Lima (vocals, guitars, songwriter, lyrics), Vagner Lima (drummer) and Joe Ferri (bass guitar). Their unique take on alternative rock can be described as progressive, heavy, groovy and melodic, while the band also deliver a strong political message about what is going on in Brazil and all over the world.

With an uplifting vibe with its lyrics, melody, harmonies and grooving rhythm, 'All My Wounds' is about the quest for spiritual healing and dealing with the highs and lows of life and toxic people. It touches upon how hard is to cope with grief and loss and how rewarding it is to bounce back from rock bottom.

"All My Wounds is a pulsating song. Drums and bass guitar are upfront together with the electric guitars. It's really more intense and way shorter and more incisive than our first single. I think that this is a high energy song - really unquiet but still melodic," says Victor Lima.

"As for the lyrics, they try to draw an inner battle to overthrow feelings of loss, way beyond this ordinary material life, moved by the need to keep moving forward as our characters notice and feel that´s much more out of their sights. It brings a message of hope, like some sort of compensation for what has been taken away from you."

Directed and edited by Roger Elarrat and produced by Luana Klautau with Cezar Moraes serving as director of photography, the video accompanying this track captured the band in live performance. The preceding video for 'Silent Trees' was filmed in their native Amazon - the first of several chapters in a dedicated saga that will unfold, track by track.

Pentral stands for 'spirit' in Latin, indicative of the message this band is trying to inspire via their sound - the need to transcend this material world through the power of music, without losing connection with reality and human frailties.

The power trio deeply is influenced by their Amazon roots, their music strongly attached to many global influences while trying to honor Brazil's groove and unique harmonies, progressive rock, metal music, atmosphere and melody. This debut album sums up years of experimentation and the search for human awareness of the environment, peace and equality.

'All My Wounds' and 'Silent Trees' are now available across online music stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

Austin rockers Arrows To Fire releases 'Crocodile' single, co-produced by Tim Palmer

“Next level rock music” ~ Soundsphere Magazine

“Band to watch... solid, heartfelt, blazing tracks” ~ Indie Rock Cafe

“It’s rock, but it’s still sort of romantic and sexy” ~ Lisa Fletcher, Arlyn Studios

"This is rock in its rawest spirit, with flying guitars and recalling the best of 90s college rock" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Very catchy guitar riffs... fills in the cracks for anyone craving that early rich span between 80s American college rock and the early 90s sound that spawned such bands as Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Spin Doctors" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

Austin-based indie rockers Arrows To Fire present their new single 'Crocodile', a straight-up party tune that will make you want to get up and shake it!

"This song is loosely about a strong and powerful woman who is smart and beautiful… and she knows it. Beware to anyone who crosses her path! This song was inspired by a woman I know that lures people in and eventually rips their heads off when she’s finished with them or they no longer do as she wants. She is feared by those who dare get close enough! Seriously, she is terrifying," says John Joyo.

This new single follows on the trail of the Harley Davidson-inspired single 'I'm Supersonic', written from the perspective of a vintage 74 cubic inch Harley Davidson Shovelhead motor, and 'A Million Miles Away', a guitar-driven track that was inspired by struggles experienced during the current pandemic.

“Crocodile is lighthearted and hopefully makes people smile! We set the rules aside and I added a dash of party vibe into the bass line which I hope makes people want to dance. This may be the most fun John and I have ever had writing a song, and I think you can feel that when you hear it,” says Chris Lavigne.

While the previous two singles were mixed by legendary producer Tim Palmer (David Bowie's Tin Machine, The Mission, HIM, U2, Robert Plant, Tears For Fears, Ozzy Osbourne, Goo Goo Dolls, Pearl Jam), he also co-produced this new track.

A US-French collaboration, Arrows To Fire is Austin native John Joyo on vocals and French/American guitarist Chris Lavigne (guitarist, composer). Driven by solid guitar power, their sound is in keeping with a tradition of ’90s-rooted alternative rock, only with a current twist.

Joyo and Lavigne - both biotech entrepreneurs - first met in 2013 during a meeting about medical devices. They soon discovered a shared passion for alternative rock and strong desire to use music as a forum to address varied subjects - both personal and political. It didn’t take long for them to find common ground in sound and grow a path that led to releasing their 2016 debut album.

The duo have since blazed their way onto the alternative rock scene with their 2018 album 'Here We Go' and a series of YouTube videos that have racked up nearly a million views collectively, most notably for 'This is Here', underlining the song’s call to action for planetary preservation. Indie Rock Cafe listed Arrows to Fire a band to watch after their 2018 South By Southwest debut. Amazon’s music curators were equally impressed, including their cover of Golden Earring's 'Radar Love' in their epic Open Road Amazon Original playlist.

'Crocodile' is now available across online stores such as Apple Music, and streaming platforms such as Spotify.

Brazil prog rockers PENTRAL present debut Tim Palmer-mixed single 'Silent Trees'

Victor Lima lends some insight into this music: "This is a story about a man and a woman, who live in the woods. The forest is invaded... The only way I believe things can be solved is through the power of love. The album is like a journey of three characters (a woman, a man and their child) passing through the many issues addressed in the lyrics on this album".

Pentral stands for 'spirit' in Latin, indicating the premise of the message this band is trying to inspire via their sound - the need to transcend this material world through the power of music, without losing connection with reality and human frailties.

Being from the Amazon forest, this heavy power trio deeply is influenced by their roots, their music strongly attached to many global influences while trying to honor Brazil's groove and unique harmonies, progressive rock, metal music, atmosphere and melody.

This debut album sums up years of experimentation among such parallel universes and the search for human awareness of the environment, peace and equality. While known in their native Brazil, mostly through touring efforts, Pentral is ready for their music to transcend borders.

"This album is like a "declaration", conceived well before COVID-19 emerged. But it kind of fits the current reality we´re experiencing. This pandemic is the outcome of the unfriendly way we've been treating our environment and ourselves as well, and it served to expose our insensitivity, our lack of empathy. We are hopeful that this music reaches the ears and minds of folks all over the world, inspiring them to listen, think and act," says Victor Lima.

As of March 5, 'Silent Trees' will be available across online music stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music. This single can already be pre-saved on Spotify.
