KNOTFEST EXPANDS "PULSE OF THE MAGGOTS" BRAND WITH OFFICIAL SXSW SHOWCASE

SHOWCASE TAKES PLACE MARCH 18 AT ELYSIUM IN AUSTIN

PERFORMERS INCLUDE HEAD-TURNING ACTS SUCH AS THE CALLOUS DAOBOYS, CREEPING DEATH, ESCUELA GRIND, MILITARIE GUN, SOUL GLO,+ VCTMS

Knotfest is expanding its emerging artist brand, Pulse of the Maggots, by teaming up with SXSW for an official showcase set for March 18 at Elysium in Austin.

This showcase is a powerhouse that spotlights a wide range of artists currently causing thrills in the heavy culture space.

The lineup, in alphabetical order, is as follows: The Callous Daoboys, Creeping Death, Escuela Grind, Miliatrie Gun, Soul Glo, and VCTMS.

SXSW states that it is "thrilled to partner with KNOTFEST for their first-ever official showcase. As a festival that's focused on highlighting new and upcoming artists in the heavy scene, KNOTFEST and Pulse of the Maggots are a perfect fit and are helping us expand more into the growing metal and hardcore scenes. We are excited for everyone to see what is in store for the night."

Clown of Slipknot shares the enthusiasm, saying, "Excited for the new Pulses for us all."

Pulse of the Maggots Fest initially began as a digital festival in 2020, shortly after the launch of Knotfest.com as a full heavy culture media hub as a way to bring emerging artist performances to audience across the world during the world shut down. After two more digital festivals, Pulse Fest had its inaugural in-person event with the Pulse Fest UK featuring Sylosis, Orbit Culture, Heriot, Spiritworld, and more.

With this SXSW showcase (as well as other festivals spanning the globe, including currently on-sale festivals in Australia, Japan, and Italy, Knotfest continues its impact as a curator in the heavy genre.

ABOUT THE PULSE OF MAGGOTS x SXSW SHOWCASE LINEUP:

THE CALLOUS DAOBOYS:
Earning comparative nods to mathcore lineage like Botch and Converge, the sextet package a cacophony of organized chaos in a performance on 2022's Celebrity Therapist  that is purely volatile.

CREEPING DEATH:
Practitioners of Texas heft, Creeping Death have taken up the torch for the modern era of death metal. The band's Edge of Existence EP was hailed for it classic and contemporary take on the genre such that their forthcoming 2023 release is among the most anticipated of the year.

ESCUELA GRIND:
The New England grindcore unit proved relentless on their 2022 full length, Memory Theater. Paying homage to their predecessors like Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, and early Carcass, the technical prowess in tandem with the sheer brutality of the band make them among extreme musicโ€™s most promising prospects.

MILITARIE GUN:
Dynamic songwriters well beyond their years, L.A.'s Militarie Gun have a knack for crafting tunes that stick. Their All Roads Lead to the Gun ushered in a new era of post-hardcore brilliance that leaned heavily on memorable hooks, punchy guitars and a '90s angst executed with grit and guts.

SOUL GLO:
The Philly hardcore standouts scored a massive win in 2022 with the release of their universally acclaimed, Diaspora Problems. Praised for their biting social commentary and frenzied execution, they are among the most exciting, emerging names in the landscape of contemporary hardcore.

VCTMS:
The Chicago aggressors and DIY riders spent most of 2022 touring in support of their Vol. IV: Numb the Ache LP. Ending the year with the reveal of the single, "The Dearly Beloved," the band's layered assault and musical bombast makes for an impressive show of force.

ABOUT BEARTOOTH:
Beartooth, the band Forbes declared is "inching towards a tipping point of becoming the latest arena headliner," dropped their latest anthem "RIPTIDE" in 2022 and it saw frontman Caleb Shomo put the pain of the past in the rearview mirror as he takes the steering wheel from fate to command his own destiny. The track memorializes the struggle with mental health and self-acceptance, which has defined so much of Beartooth since its inception. Shomo started this band in his basement, playing all the instruments to challenge and purge inner darkness, purely for himself at first. As the band he assembled to play the songs traveled, they discovered how many people recognized the same demons.  As KERRANG! observed, "Caleb Shomo is one of his generation's most remarkable songwriters." It's a testament to the purity of intention manifested by the multi-instrumentalist from the start. Songs like "The Past is Dead," "Fed Up," and "In Between" have pushed BEARTOOTH past a billion streams. The band's fourth album, Below, topped the Rock, Hard Music, and Alternative charts in 2021 and found its way into Best Rock/Metal Albums of the Year lists assembled by the likes of Revolver, Rock Sound, Loudwire, Knotfest, and a slew of like-minded media outlets. The band also graced its first Revolver cover in Summer 2021. Beartooth's marriage of colossally catchy choruses and post-hardcore-soaked-in-sweaty-metal is without rival. Its effect is evident by their deeply engaged audience; tours with Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, and A Day To Remember; and an RIAA-certified gold plaque.

ABOUT TRIVIUM:
Trivium released their tenth full-length, In the Court of the Dragon, through longtime label Roadrunner Records in 2021. The record was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur. The band has continued to receive International acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, KERRANG!, NME, TechCrunch, Kotaku, Alternative Press, Revolver, and more. That's because Trivium have been steadily building a rock solid foundation. The band released its now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!'s "Album of the Year," achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017's benchmark The Sin And The Sentence. That album elevated the group's total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, "Betrayer" received a GRAMMYยฎ Award nomination in the category of "Best Metal Performance." They followed with What the Dead Men Say in 2020, which landed the band on several year-end "Best Of" lists. Through the years, Trivium performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and more. After two decades, 10 albums, hundreds of sold out shows, and nearly a billion catalog streams on Spotify, Trivium actualize the all-encompassing ambition they first set in motion back in 1999.

JINJER Adds More U.S. Performances to Tour Schedule + Glow In The Dark Vinyl Collection Announced

JINJER Announces Additional U.S. Performances Surrounding Knotfest Roadshow Support Dates

Limited Glow In The Dark Vinyl Collection Available for Pre-Order Now HERE

This past summer, progressive metal giants JINJER released their most in-demand and successful album yet, Wallflowers, subsequently hitting the top of the charts all around the globe. Then just last week, JINJER reached yet another milestone - joining the first leg of the 2022 Knotfest Roadshow in North America to support metal legends Slipknot with fellow special guests In This Moment. The first leg of the tour kicks off in Fargo, ND on March 16 and hits an additional 17 cities before wrapping up in Vancouver, BC on April 17. Tickets are on sale now!

Today, JINJER is thrilled to announce new headline dates surrounding their Knotfest Roadshow run. New stops have been added in markets such as St. Louis, MO, Boise, ID, Indianapolis, IN and many more. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10:00 AM Eastern time - see below for all dates!

JINJER's Eugene Abdukhanov says about their upcoming North American tour:

"20 years ago or so, Slipknot shocked the world, along with four Ukrainian kids who would later become JINJER! There was nobody like them before. This band proved that you don't need to go pop radio to get big. Their sound revolutionized heavy music. Joey's drumming changed the game! Thomson and Root's riffs are what we learned to play the guitar with. In many ways, Slipknot became role models to us, and we followed in their footsteps. For this reason and many more, now being able to tour with this monster of a band means so much to us! We cannot wait to get out there on Knotfest Roadshow2022. See you there."

JINJER's exceptional precision of modern metal paired with tough as nails attitude has earned them a fiercely loyal, rabid fanbase and massive critical acclaim, making JINJERone of the most talked about bands today and garnering them many sold-out performances across the globe.

Since announcing Wallflowers, the band has graced numerous renowned international magazine covers, booked the biggest stories, sold out countless tour dates and their first two new singles, "Vortex" and "Mediator", both cracked the multi-million stream mark in no time. The new album not only presents a methodical and premeditated next step in the band's already imposing career, but moreover, it mirrors the personal adversities theyโ€™ve faced due to the worldwide events of the last year. Wallflowers is not only an upgrade to the progressive groove metal sound that all JINJER fans crave, but also a sonic pressure cooker of technical musicianship, emotional fury and an intense soundtrack befitting the harrowing state of the world today. Hailing from the conflict-ridden Ukrainian region of Donetsk but now calling Kiev their home base, JINJER truly do not mince words โ€“ or riffs โ€“ on Wallflowers.
