Jordyn Shellhart Named a Member of 2024 CMT LISTEN UP Class + 'Cross-Legged By The Fireplace' Available Now

Warner Music Nashville singer/songwriter Jordyn Shellhart concludes 2023 with a bang as she’s named a member of 2024’s CMT Listen Up Class following the release of her cozy Christmas EP, Cross-Legged By The Fireplace, and her debut album released earlier this year garners additional critical acclaim.

“‘Ethereal country-pop’ is the best way to describe the debut album from Jordyn Shellhart, who writes with vulnerability and potent detail on Primrose,” lauds Stereogum, naming the 12-track project one of the “Best Country Albums of 2023,” while noting it’s “a perfect album for those who dreamt of an acoustic twangier version of Midnights.”

“A collection that offers immense career promise,” boasted Billboard upon its release, with Country Now declaring it “a work of pure artistry that will take listeners on a unique musical journey,” while Nashville Lifestyles observes Shellhart “jumps the line of intriguing new songsmiths with her debut…evocative in style and voice.”

With her latest release Cross-Legged By The Fireplace, the Wyoming native invites fans to get cozy with her this holiday season, featuring a blend of timeless classics including her soulful take on Joni Mitchell’s “River,” a sweet and somber rendition of Ariana Grande’s contemporary holiday hit “Santa Tell Me,” and a duet with Austin Snell for an updated take on the Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani hit “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” Rounding out the festive four-song EP is an acoustic version of Shellhart’s own melancholic holiday original “Coming To Town (Fireplace Version).” Listen to the EP

“I made this EP for people who want their Christmas music to sound like mulling spices, watching snow fall gently with a single deer in the distance or sitting cross-legged by fireplaces,” shares Shellhart. “I hope this EP serves to enhance those specific activities this holiday season.”

Known for her emotive storytelling and soulful melodies, Cross-Legged By The Fireplace is a testament to her versatile artistry, finding her effortlessly infusing holiday classics with her own unique style and capturing the spirit of the season in a moody and atmospheric way as only she can.

About Jordyn Shellhart:
Like a coming-of-age novel chronicling the heroine's passage from childhood to womanhood, singer/songwriter Jordyn Shellhart's 12-track Primrose ventures from joyful to introspective, providing intimate yet vivid glimpses into the Wyoming-native's most formative moments and milestones. Although her first full album for Warner Music Nashville, its refinement and sophistication stems from more than a decade as a signed writer, earning cuts by Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson and Don Williams. Whether asking "Who Are You Mad At," crooning over not the loss of a lover but of their mother in "Tell Your Mother I'm Fine" or the retrospective "Maybe Someday You'll Have A Daughter," Shellhart's Primrose is the first chapter in what is sure to be a storied career.
