Archspire’s 2017 Relentless Mutation was a cavalcade of speed and extremity — blasting, accelerating and, in partial reference to its title, “mutating” as each song unfolded, all the while rapid-fire, shotgun vocals blurred the lines between a man’s throat and additional instrument. It was, unquestionably, an innovation of sound and technique — Archspire had broken the speed barrier while creating songs memorable as they were unabashedly extreme for extreme metal. Thus, the pressure was already there to top Relentless Mutation when the band started to compile new songs in 2018. The global pandemic heightened the situation (read: no touring, expanded free time) and caused Archspire to turn inward and apply additional rigor to their songwriting process, albeit painstakingly so. But by the end of the fraught calendar year that was 2020, the band emerged with their fourth studio album, Bleed the Future.

According to the members of Archspire — vocalist Oli Aleron, guitarists Dean Lamb and Tobi Morelli, bassist Jared Smith and drummer Spencer Prewett — they originally went into the making of Bleed the Future under the idea they would finish the album in between the various tours scheduled for 2020. Of course, none of that happened, prompting the band to do more pre-production than at any time in their career. Archspire then subjected the album’s eight songs to near-constant critiquing that ensured they came away with a product, that in their estimation, is their best to date.

“The benefit we had was that Relentless came out in 2017,” says Lamb. “Since then, we toured more than we ever did before. We had the viewpoint of ‘What do crowds like? What parts should we write more of? What parts do people give us good feedback on?’ We wanted to expand and write those parts more consistently — there are more hooks and when we do have hooks, we wanted to repeat those parts so people will know that this is the catchy part of the song.”

“The most important thing was that we had clever songwriting,” adds Prewett. “We wanted the album to be more accessible to more people but still keep it extreme, fast and technical. So, we changed our process this time. We recorded rehearsal every day and listened to what we did afterward. We’d then come back to the jam spot and change riffs and ideas based on what everyone was thinking about during the week. It resulted in an album that everyone was happier with.”

Archspire also had the stated goal for Bleed the Future that they wanted to get faster. While such a feat may defy reason given their previous output, the band wrote their fastest song to date — the album-closing “AUM,” a cut that opens up with an audio recording of a German friend of Prewett’s who, according to the drummer, enjoys ragging on Archspire. Comedic clips aside, “AUM,” caps off an album that pushes the boundaries of speed but also is textured — Smith’s ethereal basslines often serve as mid-song interludes, while Lamb and Morelli weave melodic, spiraling guitar lines that annihilate the fretboard during “Abandon the Linear,” “Bleed the Future” and “Acrid Canon.” Accordingly, the members of Archspire were keenly aware of the expectations placed upon them after the success of Relentless Mutation. The online comments regarding whether they could top Relentless Mutation was also occasionally on their minds when composing Bleed the Future and prompted the band to ensure that all five members were happy with everything — down to the last riff, vocal line, bass run and drum pattern. “Audience expectation is really important,” says Lamb. “If we leave the jam spot and everyone is stoked on a song, it’s pretty likely that the audience will be stoked. We have the expectation of the audience, but we also have to be pumped on the music. I feel the proudest of the music. We spent more time on the songs and got better at writing. I feel it’s better music.”

“It’s an extremely tedious writing process,” adds Smith. “If anyone isn’t feeling a riff, we scrap it and have to find something we’re all happy with. It can be super-frustrating in the moment, but in the end, we have something better. We want everything we write to be a step up and I think we achieved that with Bleed the Future.”

The album is accompanied by a concept developed by Aleron that begs the question: What happens when humans start giving birth to non-humans? Born from a weird dream the vocalist had, Bleed the Future’s concept does not have finality or a conclusion. It does, however, posit a few ethical dilemmas to ties into Archspire’s long-running science fiction themes.

“I thought about what if those things they were giving birth to could actually benefit them in the future so they wouldn’t want to reject them,” says Aleron. “What would happen to the humans that weren’t born? Would they go to a different dimension? I played with that whole idea because I hadn’t seen a horror movie where that was the theme. It worked for all the songs. The only social commentary is that people don’t know what they’re giving birth to — if you put someone on this planet, you don’t know whether they’re going to be good or evil.”

Bleed the Future was recorded in October and November 2020 at Flatline Audio in Colorado with producer/engineer Dave Otero. This was the second consecutive album the band worked with Otero. According to Morelli, the recording process was seamless. “Dave was already familiar with what we each can do individually,” he says. “This time, he was more prepared to tackle those elements. How he tracks was more focused on what we were capable of and I think it really shows here.”

As live show activity for 2021 hangs in the balance (Archspire currently has dates lined up for November), the pandemic has prompted many bands to re-think their new album release dates as well as how to stay visible in a world currently without touring. But, with a fanbase that has embraced the band’s online presence that includes playthroughs, tutorials and now, cooking shows (!), Archspire heads into the Bleed the Future album cycle the benefactors of their commitment to touring and, most of all, position as one of death metal’s most forward-thinking bands.

“We have a lot of awesome fans, so I think they’ll be there to support us and pick up the album because they like the music,” says Lamb. “We’re a self-managed band; we’ve been working with the same label for ten years and I think the outcome will be good. Would it had been better if we had been on a full North American tour starting a week before the album release? Sure, but I think people will come out and support us through other means. As soon as we’re ready to go back on tour and everybody is safe to do so, we’ll be out there.”

Industrial/ Electronic Rock Band GHOSTATIC Release Official Music Video for Single "Still Haunt My Dreams"

"Still Haunt My Dreams" can be streamed/downloaded at:

https://ffm.to/nxm40wp

Cleveland, Ohio industrial/electronic rock band GHOSTATIC has released a brand new single "Still Haunt My Dreams" to all major platforms via Imagen Records. The band released the official music video for it today!

"After releasing my debut EP on Imagine Records, which was more electronic and bass heavy, I decided to stick to my roots and lean more on the heavy rock/metal style that grabbed my ears when I was an angsty teen. 'Still Haunt My Dreams' is a hit-you-in-the-face roller coaster, conveying the fear, damage, and emotional drain of never being able to escape your past," says Adamo Fiscella, the band's vocalist/guitarist.

From hobby to obsession, raw to mega production, here and the afterlife, Ghostatic is an ominous, all-encompassing presentation of sounds and experiences written, performed, and produced by Adamo Fiscella.

The band released the official music video for "The New Revelation" late last year. The video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/q-6QMosplM4

Live band members:
Adamo Fiscella - Vocals, Guitar
Gavin Kerr - Bass, Vocals

ROTTING CHRIST have reached another peak in their long career that now spans over more than three decades. The Greeks have literally stood the test of time. With a steady core line-up and their well-honed live delivery, ROTTING CHRIST are filling concert halls and reap enthusiastic crowd reactions wherever they go. This demonstration of love from their followers is not just driven by nostalgia as the band has managed to evolve and grow, while staying relevant beyond the classics with their highly acclaimed latest albums such as 'Aealo' (2010), 'Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού’ (2013), and 'Rituals' (2016).

Now, with the new offering 'The Heretics', ROTTING CHRIST are opening a brand new chapter. With confidence and skills derived from experience, each song represents its own sonic universe. Guitarist and vocalist Sakis Tolis in collaboration with his brother Themis on drums achieve a perfect balance of amalgamating their classic and unique style of riffing and rhythm with exciting new elements sprinkled in to keep their material exciting and fresh. The experienced is enhanced by Jens Bogren's equally clear and transparent yet also massive as well as sombre mix and mastering at his widely renowned Fascination Street Studios (AMORPHIS, BORKNAGAR, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and many more).

ROTTING CHRIST were founded by Sakis Tolis and his brother Themis in the year 1987. Starting out on a basis of death and grind, the Greeks had already embarked on a darker musical journey by the time their debut full-length ‘Thy Mighty Contract’ (1993) was revealed. On the following seven albums covering a ten-year period from 'Non Serviam' (1994) to 'Sanctus Diavolos' (2004), ROTTING CHRIST steadily defined their own distinct style by experimenting with elements from death, heavy, and gothic metal without betraying their black roots. At the same time, the band went from underground heroes to headliner status. With the highly acclaimed ninth album, 'Theogonia' (2007), the Greek stalwarts added an unmistakable native element to their sound, which has remained with them as a signature trademark ever since. Exploring the mythical legacy of cultures around the globe led to ROTTING CHRIST's massively successful latest release, 'Rituals' (2016). With more than 30 years, 13 studio albums, a dozen EPs, singles and split releases, as well as more than 1.250 shows under their belt, 2018 marked the year of 'Their Greatest Spells' (2018), where they musically revisited their exciting legacy to connect their past with the present.

'The Heretics' marks another step in the evolution of the Greek masters. Buckle up for a fascinating musical ride through the woes of religious wars, Zoroastrianism and the eternal war between good and evil. Metal at its best!

Guitar Virtuoso Hedras Releases New Single + Music Video "Latin Blood" From Upcoming New Album "Angels" Out May 13 (via Blood Blast Distribution)

Taken From Forthcoming Album

'Angels'

Out May 13 via Blood Blast Distribution

Pre-Save Here

Genre-fusing guitar virtuoso Hedras has today released his latest track, "Latin Blood" from his forthcoming album 'Angels', out on May 13 via Blood Blast Distribution. Prior to today's drop, Hedras released the music video for the album title track "Angels". Speaking on the inspiration behind "Latin Blood", Hedras shares:

"'Latin Blood' has a humble story. While I was working as a cashier at a music store in Los Angeles, not my most fun days of life but valuable ones for sure, I used to grab the guitars and hide from the managers under the counters and just play a lot. One of those days the main riff of this song came to me, and I knew exactly the sound I was imagining in my head. I was listening to a Merengue piano, trumpets, and some urban Latin electronic beat in the back so went into my computer and produced the beat with those elements from scratch. I produced, composed, mixed, and mastered everything myself. I'm also using my new super versatile Cort Duality II with Fishman Fluence Classic Pickups for the main riffs, clean and distorted solos, and a sick 8-string Abasi Guitar that Tosin (from Animals As Leaders) gave me for the nasty dubstep drop."

Established in Dallas, TX, multi-instrumentalist Hedras Ramos began his musical career at age 6 by learning to play the drums. It wasn't until 2005 however (at age 13) when Hedras became interested in learning guitar. He typically practiced 7 or more hours every day, even playing up to 12 hours a day during vacations from school. Being entirely self-taught, Hedras pushed himself hard to master the guitar and in 2011 he had composed and produced his first instrumental album 'Atoms and Space'. with guests such as Andy James and Jennifer Batten. Following this was his instrumental album 'The Impressionist' which became available for purchase in September 2017, which had special guests such as Plini (guitarist), Martin Miller (guitarist), and Anup Sastry (drummer). In 2020 Hedras released his latest instrumental album titled 'Pagans', a djent and progressive metal work that was supported by Abasi Guitars in a collaboration where Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders, who personally gifted Hedras an 8-string Larada guitar and featured renowned musicians of the prog world recorded such as Japanese virtuoso bass player Ayumu and prog drummer Anup Sastry.

"Tradition, melody and metal in a beautiful entanglement"

Rock Hard (IT)

Leading Swedish Viking metal wolf pack MÅNEGARM have unleashed another hefty banger off their new offering Ynglingaättens Öde, finally out this coming Friday! The new, staggering third single “Stridsgalten” features outstanding contributions from prominent guests Jonne Järvelä (Korpiklaani), Robse Dahn (Equilibrium) and Pär Hulkoff (Raubtier/Hulkoff) – all renowned in the folk and Pagan metal scenes. Together, they proudly present a stomping track telling the story of a bloody battle to honor Odin, starting with a mystical throat singing section, then delighting with a string-focused intro leading to the main groove of the track. Definitely not a single to miss!

MÅNEGARM have made a name for themselves in the international scene by releasing nine full-length records since their debut, Nordstjärnans tidsålder, back in 1998. Now, the Scandinavian crew takes another stroll through ancient sagas and myths of long forgotten times on the successor to 2019’s chart-topping Fornaldarsagor with their upcoming 10th studio album, Ynglingaättens Öde (EN: the fate of the Ynglinga kin).

MÅNEGARM on “Stridsgalten”:

“Here’s our 3rd official video 'Stridsgalten', and this one is really different from the last two videos. Now we will take you behind the scenes when we recorded this song but also out on the live stages with the band.

'Stridsgalten' (EN: The battle boar) features three awesome gentlemen who most gratefully helped us out with great guest vocals – Jonne Järvelä of Korpiklaani, Robse Dahn of Equilibrium and Pär Hulkoff of Hulkoff/Raubtier. Thank you, brothers!!

Hope you all will enjoy this song and video as much as we do!!”

Robse Dahn (Equilibrium) comments:

“Since I was a teenager, MÅNEGARM have been some of my idols. I have always loved their music! Back in 2011 we played a tour together which was great fun and felt like an accolade. It is an honor to be part of this great song and therefore their upcoming release.”

Pär Hulkoff (Hulkoff/Raubtier) on the song:

”Mighty track by a mighty band! What an honor to join in and chant for allfather Odin! Hail brothers!!"

Jonne Järvelä (Korpiklaani) adds:

“Very good song and mix and it was a great honor to be part of this.”

On Ynglingaättens Öde, MÅNEGARM incorporates Pagan inspired lyricism based on the old Norse poem Ynglingatal, that describes the fate of an old Norse dynasty - the house of Ynglinga. Ynglingaättens Öde offers balanced variety and atmosphere, breathing new life into ancient myths. Vocalist Erik Grawsiö tells the stories of kings, warriors and battles with clear vocals and contrasts them with grim growls and fierce battle cries!

Get your copy of Ynglingaättens Öde NOW!

MÅNEGARM keep the heathen fire alive with vibrant folk and Viking spirit!

With the uncompromising ten-minute opus “Freyrs blod”, MÅNEGARM lure the listener deep into ancient times. The track spans a wide arc between black metal elements that flow into more melodic parts and even acoustic interludes with guitar and violin tunes, just to turn once again into thunderous soundscapes. With this majestic opener, MÅNEGARM showcase why they are regarded as Swedish genre pioneers with good reason, as they inimitably manage to combine vicious black metal foundations with classic folk and Viking elements. On the way there are acoustic introductions echoing, as on “Stridsgalten”, acting as preludes for intense metal songs with harsh riffs and engaging drums, underlined by anthemic melodies. “Stridsgalten” marks another highlight of the album, as it features outstanding contributions from prominent guests Jonne Järvelä (Korpiklaani), Robse Dahn (Equilibrium) and Pär Hulkoff (Raubtier/Hulkoff). All renowned in the folk and Pagan metal scenes, together they proudly present a stomping track telling the story of a bloody battle to honor Odin. “Vitta vettr” features black metal trademarks like blast beats and freezing riffs, creating a darker atmosphere. This gloomy moment lines up with mighty tracks like hammering “Auns söner” and heroic “Adils Fall”. The album closes with the acoustic “Hågkomst av ett liv”, conjuring an atmosphere of sitting at a warm, sparkling fire while listening to tales of olden days, formed by the mesmerizing vocal duet of vocalists Ellinor Videfors and Grawsiö. With Ynglingaättens Öde, MÅNEGARM underline their standing as spearheads of the world of Viking metal once more and keep Pagan traditions alive, even after 25 years of existence.

MÅNEGARM on the album:

“Thousands of working hours turned into this beast - our new album, Ynglingaättens Öde. We truly believe this album is our strongest and most complete album to date and despite the dark days of the pandemic, we have created a concept album that is 100% MÅNEGARM and packed with strong melodies, riffs and powerful choruses. This time, we explore an old Swedish Norse dynasty of rulers where we detail their deeds, their rule and above all - their deaths.

So come join us on this journey and meet the fate of the Yngliga kin!”

MACHINE HEAD ANNOUNCE COLOSSAL NEW 10TH ALBUM "ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN” OUT AUGUST 26 (NUCLEAR BLAST X IMPERIUM RECORDINGS)

Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD has announced the details of their forthcoming tenth album, the immense and unapologetic, 'ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN' coming August 26th, 2022 (via Nuclear Blast x Imperium Recordings). The debut of the first video from the album, the ferocious "CHØKE ØN THE ASHES ØF YØUR HATE can be viewed below.

'ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN' is a 13 track concept album set in a decimated futuristic wasteland where the sky is stained crimson red. The crux of the story is based on two main characters:

Character #1 Ares: (pronounced Aries), our main, who loses the love of his life (Amethyst) and goes on a murderous rampage against the vile sect responsible for her murder.

Character #2 Eros: (pronounced Arrows) the perpetrator, who loses his mother to a drug overdose and becomes radicalized in the aftermath. Eros goes off the deep end manifesting his own killing spree.

The lyrics detail how their lives intertwine.

MACHINE HEAD founder Robb Flynn comments:

“Thanks to my 2 teenage boys my family has become obsessed with this awesome Japanese anime series called “Attack On Titan.” The album’s concept was loosely inspired by the series in the sense that in the storyline, there is no “good" or "bad" guy, both characters believe they’re doing the right thing as it applies to their being, but make no mistake, both are committing acts of pure atrocity and evil. The opening track “SLAUGHTER THE MARTYR” is basically our character #1’s origin story.”

The colossal concept comes with a list of equally colossal packaging for various physical formats including 16 different worldwide vinyl formats, deluxe vinyl box set (with bonus tracks), CDs (both old-school longbox and jewel box options), multi-color cassettes, and a limited-edition Digipak with bonus tracks.

CDs, Digipak, cassettes, and all digital formats will be available on Aug 26th, with all vinyl formats arriving on Nov 25th.

Elle King & Miranda Lambert Top the Country Charts with "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)"

Nominated for a 2022 Billboard Music Award, the Track is the First Female Duet To Hit No. 1
on the
Billboard Country Chart in 30 Years

Today, Elle King and Miranda Lambert add a page to country music history reaching No. 1 on both Billboard’s Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Charts (listen here) with their GRAMMY-nominated, certified Platinum hit, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” The track topping the charts this week marks the first time a female duet has reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love You” in 1993. It also makes King and Lambert only the second female duet to top Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since its creation in 1990.

“’Drunk’ is number 1! Elle is one of my favorite artists and one of my favorite people to be around. I am proud to call her my friend and I’m so glad she asked me to do song this song with her,” shares an enthusiastic Lambert. “The fact that a duet by two women hasn’t been a No. 1 in Country music since 1993 is crazy to me. So that we got here today means even more because it’s bigger than us. Thanks Reba and Linda for paving the way. Elle King, I love you and your spirit. Thanks to everyone who played, streamed and sang along with us on ‘Drunk.’ Now let’s get drunk and not wanna go home!”

On Friday, the track, which has over 275 million streams worldwide, was named a finalist for Top Rock Song at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. It was also nominated for a GRAMMY Award, CMA Award, two CMT Music Awards and was the recent recipient of the Video of the Year Award at the 57th ACM Awards. Additionally, the track hit No. 1 on both Billboard’s Rock Digital Sales Chart and Country Digital Sales Chart upon release.

With Lambert's current single “If I Was A Cowboy” continuing to climb the Top 20 at Country radio, the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year is set to release her forthcoming eighth studio album Palomino, on April 29 via Vanner Records/RCA Records Nashville/Sony Music Nashville. It marks her first time serving as a producer (alongside Luke Dick and Jon Randall). Celebrated as “one of this century’s best artists… deeply unafraid to follow her own rules, co-write almost all her own songs, and (lyrically) burn down the occasional house or two” in Rolling Stone’s “The RS Interview,” on stands in the current April issue, Lambert will bring her signature style to Las Vegas this September for her “Velvet Rodeo” residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com/MirandaVegas. She will also hit the road for The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town this spring.

Last month, King released her “stompin’ and righteous” (MusicRow) new track “Out Yonder,” which CMT deemed “the dash of spice the country music genre has been craving for quite some time.” She also wrapped her headline Drunk And I Don’t Wanna Go Home Tour at Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. RIFF Magazine said, “Roots rocker Elle King transcended several genres at her performance…blending elements of country, soul, rock, pop and blues at the show.” King is gearing up for her opening stint on Chris Stapleton’s All American Roadshow tour, with dates in Canada kicking off next month. After fifteen years of slumber, Swedish black metal cult MÖRK GRYNING have awakened to unleash their fury upon the masses with their deadly new album Hinsides Vrede. Translating into “otherworldly wrath” or “wrath of the world beyond,” Hinsides Vrede represents the impending doom of a world coming undone at its seams. The quintet temper their deathly assault with their signature melodic edge, and with recall the halcyon days of Swedish extremity. The comeback of MÖRK GRYNING is complete, and Hinsides Vrede opens up a deadly new chapter in their evolving legacy.

Founded in 1993 in Stockholm, MÖRK GRYNING were among the incipient purveyors of the melodic black and death metal scene. In May 1995, founding members Goth Gorgon and Draakh Khimera entered the Unisound Studios to record their now legendary debut album Tusen År Har Gått, produced by legend Dan Swanö (OPETH , DARK FUNERAL, DISSECTION , etc.) The haunting and melodic offering quickly gained attention among the cult of the underground, solidying their place among black metal’s clandestine elite.

The arrival of guitarist Avathar in 1999 further defined the band’s sound, adding further dimension with icy solos. The three-piece later traveled to famous Grieghallen Studios in Bergen, Norway to finish their third full-length, Maelstrom Chaos, which produced by Pytten (MAYHEM, BURZUM, EMPEROR).

In early 2003, MÖRK GRYNING entered the Dug Out Studio (MESHUGGAH, DEVIN TOWNSEND, IN FLAMES, DARK FUNERAL) with producers David Bergstrand and Örjan Örnkloo. Never shy to reinvent themselves, the aptly titled Pieces of Primal Expressionism reshaped the band entirely. The record put forth a daring grandiosity of dissonant harmony that had previously been unexplored in MÖRK GRYNING’s prior efforts.

By the time of the release of the band’s self-titled full-length in 2005, MÖRK GRYNING seemingly disbanded for good. Fans likely did not expect a second act after the band’s grand finale, however, the flames of chaos were reignited in 2017 when the band performed a rare and long-overdue anniversary set at Party San Open Air. Following appearances across Europe on the festival circuit, founding members Goth Gorgon, Draakh Kimera and Avatar reunited for real and MÖRK GRYNING signed a new deal with Season of Mist.

With Hinsides Vrede, MÖRK GRYNING have rediscovered the synergy they had while writing their legendary debut record and have returned to their foundations. Yet, by striving to reinvent themselves with every record, the long-awaited comeback of the band is by no means a reiteration of a glorious musical past, but is still certain to appease both old and new fans alike.

GREYLOTUS Premiere Music Video for "Azure Rain"

New Album 'Dawnfall' out July 8th

Baltimore progressive tech-death metal quintet GREYLOTUS have unveiled the first single from their new album! The band has partnered with Metal Injection to premiere the music video for "Azure Rain", which can be seen below.

Speaking about their new album, the band comments:

‘Dawnfall’ serves as a follow-up statement to the ‘Savior’ EP, which dealt with thrusting inner demons borne of trauma and mental health struggles out into the open, and accepting the reality of existing with them.

In the metaphor of the lotus’ life-cycle, ‘Savior’ represented the stage in which the seed is buried under the mud - shelled in, unaware, and unable to budge from what it has known. ‘Dawnfall’ embodies the process of breaking out of the shell and traveling toward the sun’s light, reaching through murky waters and currents, struggling to separate True North from tricks of the refracted light.

‘Dawnfall’ explores the self-doubt that accompanies the realization that healing is a non-linear process. It wanders through the pits of self-judgment and confronts what follows when an individual accepts that the best version of themselves is not constrained by perfection.

The debut full-length from GREYLOTUS, 'Dawnfall', will see a July 8, 2022 release via The Artisan Era.

About GREYLOTUS:

Greylotus is a progressive technical death metal band from Baltimore, Maryland.

Combining influences from all edges of the modern metal frontier, Greylotus crafts various dynamic walls of sound, ranging from passages of blisteringly technical riffs and artillery-esque blast beats, to emotional and melodic harmonies and choruses, to soundscapes brimming with ambient, orchestral, acoustic, and synth elements. After establishing the foundation of their sound in the 2018 EP, ‘Savior’, they went to work writing for their debut full-length ‘Dawnfall,’ a genre-defying experience highlighting the wide array of influences each member brings to the table.

Greylotus serves to provide a narrative for self-development through metaphor following the lotus flower’s life cycle in their lyrics. They seek to leave memorable emotional postcards that listeners can connect with and reflect upon.

After getting their first taste of the road in 2019 alongside Abiotic, Cognitive, and God of Nothing, and playing the virtual Techabilitation Festival in 2020 amid the pandemic, Greylotus are raring to perform again at United Kingdom Tech-Fest 2022 and tours TBA.

Lee Mintz - Vocals

Ben Towles - Guitar

Sanjay Kumar - Guitar

Drewsif Reynolds - Bass

Matt Tillett - Drums

Porter Howell of Little Texas Releases "This Town Was"

Billboard.com calls title track “an ode to the ever-changing ways of Nashville” and Howell’s voice “a perfect foil” for the song’s nostalgic lyrics

"This Town Was" official video directed by Michelle Goble and track available everywhere HERE

When the pandemic brought gigging to a halt, Little Texas founding member Porter Howell finally had a chance to reflect on 30 years in the business. And once he started writing down those thoughts, he realized he had a lot to say, and those words eventually turned into songs.

“I probably wrote 40 songs by myself in 2020 alone,” Howell acknowledges. “Initially I was saving them for other people,” he explains, either with a co-writer in mind to help finish them or for a particular artist to record. But with some encouragement from his longtime partner and family, Howell slowly started making demos, “and I came to realize there was a personal angle to this particular group of songs.”

That particular group of songs became This Town Was, Howell’s first side project as a singer/songwriter. In a review for Billboard.com, Jessica Nicholson tabbed the title track “an ode to the ever-changing ways of Nashville” and Howell’s voice “a perfect foil” for the song’s nostalgic lyrics. The video and single have just been released ahead of the 10-track album. Anyone who knows Nashville’s history will be drawn to the authenticity of the heartfelt lyrics as Howell soulfully sings about how the town he grew up in professionally has changed so much.

“This song came from driving around Nashville and realizing it just doesn’t look—or feel—the same…it’s a different vibe” now that the city has become a major tourist attraction, Howell notes. “It’s like that sleepy fishing village that becomes everybody’s favorite vacation spot” and tends to lose its character in the process.

“This Town was/Two one-way streets where dreams could find a way to fly…If you look real close, you can almost see a vague outline…It’s where lonely voices dared to bare their hearts and souls/And if you listen close enough, you’ll hear the ghosts…

To the newbies, Howell advises, “I’m sure there’s a fire that still burns/In every hopeful waiting their turn/I can only hope they care to learn,” while cautioning the developers who “build and build until it’s hard to find/Where this town was.”

Howell has helped distinguish country music through his lyrics and trademark guitar work for more than three decades. As lead guitarist and songwriter of the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated vocal band Little Texas, he developed a signature slide guitar style that defined the sound of a band that carved its niche by writing and performing its own music. For the past 15 years, Howell has added lead vocalist to his band duties.

Currently, Howell splits his time between the road and the writing room. Recognized among Nashville’s elite songwriters, he co-wrote several of Little Texas’ biggest hits, including “Kick a Little,” First Time for Everything,” “My Love,” “What Might Have Been” and “God Blessed Texas.” As a result, Howell received the CMA Triple Play Award, which honors country music’s greatest storytellers, for penning three No. 1 singles in a 12-month period. Check Out DUSTY GRANT Releases Official Music for Poignant Debut Single, “Oceans”!

Wichita, KS based, Dark Rock artist DUSTY GRANT has revealed the official music video for the debut single from his newly, fully formed band, "Oceans"! Written and produced by GRANT and JASON CATLETT (with additional production duties as well as recorded and mixed by CHRIS DAWSON) with mastering by MIKE KALAJIAN, the music video for "Oceans" was directed by JT IBANEZ.

“’Oceans is’ the first song I wrote with my lead guitar player Jason Catlett to introduce the full-band sound. We wrote it together after we experienced the unexpected loss of a close mutual friend. We'd been friends and worked together for a long time around the scene in a lot of different capacities, but this was actually the first song we wrote together and will be the first Dusty Grant full-band release. It's a song with a deep meaning to all of us in the band." - DUSTY GRANT

Dusty Grant is an independent singer/songwriter based out of Wichita, KS. Grant has been writing, recording, and performing original music in bands and as a solo artist for over 20 years. Drawing influences from metal, rock, grunge, and country Grant delivers his own brand of Dark Rock. Fans of Alice In Chains, Stone Sour, Shinedown, and Daughtry are certain to love Grant's style.

In 2017, Grant began touring and playing small clubs as a solo acoustic act. In his short time as a solo artist, Grant kept up a brisk pace releasing 11 of his own original songs and playing 40+ shows per year.

As interest in his music and performances grew across the region, in addition to booking additional solo acoustic gigs, Grant started to get interest from promoters to play larger stages with a full-band accompaniment. It was in May of 2021 that Grant added friends and fellow musicians Jason Catlett (Lead Guitar), Bwana Villa (Vocals), Shane Harper (Drums) & Chris McNutt (Bass). With a new, full-on rock sound, the band lit the regional scene ablaze opening for national acts like DaughtryCandleboxDanielle Nicole, and Blacktop Mojo.

On April 8th of 2022 Grant has plans to release his first full-band single "Oceans" written with friend Jason Catlett. This track was produced and recorded by acclaimed hard rock producer Chris Dawson (SAULAny Given SinSeasons After). Grant also has plans to continue building his touring and live performance resume with shows already booked with National rockers Black Stone Cherry. DEATHWHITE Shares Devastating New Song "No Thought or Memory"

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE will be releasing their third full-length, 'Grey Everlasting,' on June 10 via Season of Mist! The band has partnered with The Obelisk for the release of their devastating new single, "No Thought or Memory," which can be heard below.

DEATHWHITE comments:

“‘No Thought or Memory’ details the opioid epidemic ravaging the United States and the perils of addiction. It is well documented how pharmaceutical companies have made billions by getting people hooked on their substances. The fact that they have gotten away with it for so long is reprehensible, but how quickly prescription drug abuse can destroy lives and families is even worse. The amount of lives affected is untold and there is no end in sight.”

'Grey Everlasting' will follow up 2020's critically-acclaimed 'Grave Image,' which was named one of the best metal albums of 2020 by Bravewords, Heavy New York, Dead Rhetoric, A&P Reacts, Teeth of the Divine, and Pandemonium TV.

'Grey Everlasting' is available to pre-order HERE and can be pre-saved to your streaming library HERE.

Anno 2022 marks the tenth year of Deathwhite. The ensuing years have borne witness to the continued, if not expedited unraveling of humankind and the world in which it so harshly occupies. The 2020 global pandemic — an event of unimaginable magnitude — has amplified the worst in us. Cruelty, dishonesty, greed, obfuscation and selfishness are celebrated, worn as a badge of pride as the world burns figuratively and literally. Such was the environment of discontent and isolation that enigmatic dark metal quartet Deathwhite concocted its third full-length studio offering, Grey Everlasting. Utilizing the same team as 2020’s Grave Image, Grey Everlasting was recorded during May and June 2021 at Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer. Vocals were again tracked at Erik Rutan’s (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) Mana Recording under the guidance of engineer Art Paiz. Legendary Swedish producer and engineer Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale) is responsible for the mastering, while French visual artist Jérôme Comentale reprised his role for the fourth consecutive Deathwhite release.

Written just as the global lockdown began in March 2020, Grey Everlasting is an album of diversity and depth. While the band’s clean vocal delivery set to the backdrop of unyielding dark metal remains ever-present, some new wrinkles are added to Deathwhite’s sound. Extreme metal elements — a reference to the band’s musical background — as well as heavy keyboard orchestration have been brought to the fore. The album also treads more atmospheric paths while staying true to Deathwhite’s melodic underpinnings. “We have grown accustomed to putting our songs under a microscope, but this album demanded an even deeper examination of where we wanted to go,” said the band collectively. “There was little interest in re-writing Grave Image; instead, we had to carve new paths and challenge ourselves musically. We were unafraid to try new things, so, accordingly, the creation process was occasionally arduous. However, it made the result something we are incredibly proud of.”

Lyrically, Grey Everlasting balances Deathwhite’s harsh view of the world with themes of self-preservation. It is a rare glimmer of light from a band that has regularly addressed the ills of humankind on previous albums. However, the onset of the global pandemic made Grey Everlasting an appropriate title. “The album’s lyrics were assembled throughout the pandemic, events that also included strife on the political and human rights front,” said the band. “As disheartening as these events were, they were hardly a surprise. The human race has had more than enough time to figure out how to coexist properly, but still cannot get it right…and it never will.”

Historical Power Metal Outfit CIVIL WAR Announce New Album + Reveal Title Track with Lyric Video

New Album, Invaders, out June 17, 2022 via Napalm Records | Pre-Order NOW

Swedish historical power metal force CIVIL WAR – founded by former members of Sabaton – returns with 10 new wartime anthems on their new album, Invaders, out via Napalm Records on June 17, 2022. Detailing harrowing stories of sorrow and tales of turbulent triumph from around the globe, as well as human nature itself, the album marks the band’s first with masterful frontman Kelly Sundown Carpenter and formidable shredder Thobbe Englund (ex-Sabaton).

Invaders grips with riveting accounts, ranging from Viking invasions and the greed of powerful nations to legendary Native American battles and magical Arthurian fantasy – all amid a profusion of enthrallingly dynamic vocals, epic soundscapes and impressive, technical instrumentals.

In celebration of this announcement, CIVIL WAR have delivered the first single and title track off of Invaders. The song “Invaders” is a powerful anthem with intense riffs and an epic chorus, telling of the legendary Native American victory at the Battle of the Wabash. With the track, CIVIL WAR gives a first taste of what new and returning listeners can expect from the new album. Stay tuned!

Daniel Mÿhr (keyboards) on the title track:

As a first sign of life in what seems to be ages, we bring out the heavy artillery in the form of the title track from our upcoming album, Invaders. Inspired by the Battle of the Wabash, we tell the story of how the Native Americans fought foreign invaders when they came to claim their sacred lands.”

Watch/Listen to the Lyric Video for “Invaders” bellow.

Historical power metal force CIVIL WAR enter their fourth battle with Invaders!

The album starts off with the captivating “Oblivion”, inviting the listener into an apocalyptic world with its exotic, menacing sound, strong vocals and heavy guitar riffs. Packed with epic symphonic power, Invaders continues with the war anthem “Dead Man’s Glory”, telling a story of Irish resistance – fighting to preserve their way of life against a Viking invasion. The album rages on with the retelling of legendary Native American victory at the Battle of the Wabash on the fast-paced “Invaders” and then settles into the pulsating, atmospheric “Heart of Darkness” before arriving at “Andersonville” – recounting the horrors of Confederate prisoner-of-war camp Andersonville Prison through the letters of a Union soldier to his wife. This song soars as a massive power ballad with heart-rending symphonics, choirs and emotive vocals. “Battle of Life” delivers the grand finale of Invaders as a pummeling, fiery power metal pinnacle, summoning listeners of all walks of life to persevere and call on inner strength in times of trouble. In keeping with the album’s theme, the Western-inspired heavy metal battle cry “Custer’s Last Stand” sees its 10th anniversary re-recording and re-release as a bonus track, entrancing the listener with Carpenter’s passionate vocal delivery, searing guitar harmonics, keyboard fanfares and tribal drums. With Invaders, CIVIL WAR prove they’ve once again etched a position all their own in the annals of modern power and heavy metal while proving their deft storytelling skill and knack for engaging lyricism. Invaders is a must-listen!

Daniel Mÿhr (keyboards) on Invaders:

“It took its time, but we're happy and proud to present our new album Invaders to the world. CIVIL WAR is back in a nice, new uniform, and with Kelly Sundown Carpenter and Thobbe Englund joining the ranks we have finally put together our fourth full-length album. By taking one step in every direction we have taken our sound to even darker places, but also to more positive ones. But one thing remains the same - our roots in Heavy Metal!

Miranda Lambert Releases "Actin' Up" Off PALOMINO (April 29); "Velvet Rodeo" Las Vegas Residency On Sale Now.

ACM Entertainer of the Year Continues to Release New Music off Forthcoming Album, Palomino, Set for Release April 29

Tickets to Lambert’s “Velvet Rodeo” Las Vegas Residency On Sale Today at 10 a.m. PT via
Ticketmaster.com/MirandaVegas

As her GRAMMY-nominated Elle King collaboration “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” hits Top 3 at Country radio and “If I Was A Cowboy” continues to climb the Top 20, reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert reveals even more music off her forthcoming eighth studio album with today’s release of “Actin’ Up.” The cheeky mid-tempo anthem serves as the opening track on Palomino, set for release April 29 via Vanner Records/RCA Records Nashville. Listen to “Actin’ Up” HERE.

With the progressive 15-song album, her first solo project since 2019’s GRAMMY-winning Wildcard (despite a busy interim that included releasing the GRAMMY-nominated collaborative project The Marfa Tapes as well as the Pistol Annies’ celebratory Hell of a Holiday), Lambert has crafted a record that explores the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around. Yet even with primarily fictional characters leading the way, the Texan’s own identity emerges lyrically in the second verse of the lead track, out now: I got my own kind of country / Kind of funky.

That signature style will be on full display later this year, when the woman celebrated as “one of this century’s best artists… deeply unafraid to follow her own rules, co-write almost all her own songs, and (lyrically) burn down the occasional house or two” in Rolling Stone’s “The RS Interview,” on stands in the current April issue, heads to Las Vegas for her “Velvet Rodeo.” Tickets to the 24-date Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino residency beginning this September go on sale to the general public today, April 7, at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster.com/MirandaVegas.

“Velvet Rodeo,” like Palomino itself, earns its name from the chorus of today’s release, penned by Lambert together with her co-producers on the album, Luke Dick and Jon Randall:

I want a sunset ride
A velvet rodeo
A Colorado high
A California glow
I want to see the desert
From a painted palomino
Señorita need to have a little fun
I’m actin’ up

In addition to her Las Vegas residency, fans can also hear the new music live when Lambert joins forces with Little Big Town to co-headline this spring’s The Bandwagon Tour, a joint outing produced by Live Nation, featuring The Cadillac Three as support on all dates and visiting 15 cities beginning Friday, May 6 in Houston, Texas.
