Pre Order NOW!

Gothic Metal icons CREMATORY are an undeniable institution. Now, with more than 30 years in the scene, the band continues to showcase why they are heralded as one of the best of the genre with their new album, Inglorious Darkness, out May 27, 2022 via Napalm Records!

Today, CREMATORY have revealed the first single and title track from the album! The catchy and powerful gothic metal hymn features energetic vocals and heavy guitar sounds, proving CREMATORY’s unstoppable power. The five-piece delivers the perfect taste of what their fans can expect from the upcoming studio album with “Inglorious Darkness”. Stay tuned!

CREMATORY on “Inglorious Darkness”:

“This is the title track of the album with slightly progressive influences and a brilliant hit chorus. The song is about the fear of being alone in the darkness, but still feeling comfortable and having the feeling of safety and familiarity.”

Watch the music video for “Inglorious Darkness” below.

CREMATORY mark 30 years of German Gothic Metal greatness with Inglorious Darkness!

Inglorious Darkness is chock full of dark and resonating hymns, setting off with title track “Inglorious Darkness” – a true Gothic Metal anthem and a worthy opener that sets the mood for what’s to come. “Break Down the Walls” hits direct, accented by a gentle melody wrapped in Rock n’ Roll drums that will infiltrate the listener’s brain, and is further solidified by the clean vocals of Felix in the verses mixed with mighty growls in the chorus.

Standout track “Trümmerwelten” lyrically illustrates a dystopian scene, while opulent keyboards build epic melodies to create orchestral, symphonic soundscapes underlined by heavy drumming. Monumental career highlight track “Tränen der Zeit” shines as bright as its original version – one of the highpoints of the band’s famous live shows – but in a modern new light. The band breathes new life into one of their all-time classics, engulfing the listener in melancholy and nostalgia alike reuniting with an old friend.

On tracks like “Sound of my Life” and “Not for the Innocent”, the band’s tried-and-true use of keys and electronic elements are a noted standout, while tracks such as “Das Ende” blaze with headbang-inducing, stomping drums and hammering energy as German lyrics further intensify the Gothic Industrial Metal aura.

With Inglorious Darkness, CREMATORY prove that their passion burns brighter than ever, and that even after more than 30 years, they are solidified as a Gothic Metal genre giant.

CREMATORY on Inglorious Darkness:

“New band line-up and back to the roots with only one guitar and no other singer besides Felix, who sang everything on this album alone, even the cleaner vocals. Hardness, melody and gloom are excellently combined on Inglorious Darkness.

Real Gothic Metal is the catchword, which can be enjoyed here. Numerous hits sung in German and English, partly electronic, partly orchestral and partly full on the face in Gothic Rock'n Roll style!”

SERPENTENT Release New Single "Rise & Fall"

Seattle-based dark folk solo artist SERPENTENT has released the first single from their upcoming studio album. The new track, titled "Rise & Fall" was released on March 18th, and is accompanied by a music video. The new album from Serpentent, 'Ancient Tomes Vol. 1: Mother of Light', will see a May 20th, 2022 release via Svart Records.

Speaking about the new track, Serpentent comments:

“A continuation of several other meditations on the ebbs and flows of all that rotates within the universe, 'Rise and Fall' was written the day after my grandfather passed away as a means to reflect, process, and express gratitude for him. As a whole, it is a triumphant ode to life and death, in terms of both micro and macrocosm. Everything exists in the past, present, and future simultaneously at any given moment, and in that, we are all beautifully immersed in infinity and the people we love are "alive" even when they're physically no longer present; especially when we continue to speak of them, to tell their stories, and celebrate their existence.”

About Serpentent's Debut Album, Mother Of Life:

Svart Records is proud to debut Mother Of Light, the epic first album by dark folk songstress Anne K. O’Neill, under her Serpentent banner. As Serpentent, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Anne K. O'Neill weaves a deep cinematic spell of gothic folk, combining elements of European folk music and neoclassical influences. Transfigured by her extraordinary, evocative vocal style, Serpentent’s Mother of Light is a lush saga. Unfastening her industrial roots, Serpentent sees O’Neill conjure monumental sonic narratives that are magnificently visual but fiercely vulnerable, her voice commanding an unconquerable presence. Emotionally charged, Serpentent sets the stage with songs of love and grief, magically distilled through eloquent landscapes of sound. Gothic classical neofolk or 80s-tinged neoclassical dark pop, only the listener can experience for themselves. Serpentent are that unique paradox, almost beyond genre, leaving you speechless and struggling to find words that can describe sheer beauty.

With nods to Jung, Bataille, Camus, and Krishnamurti, Mother of Light’s themes serve as a rumination on the meanings of life and death making this debut Serpentent album an opus of philosophical observation. Featuring accompaniments by Joseph M. D'Auria on drums, Dylan Desmond on bass, and guest appearances from Lorraine Rath, Sasha taqʷšəblu LaPointe, Kakophonix, and Joy Von Spain, Mother of Light Together with artwork created by Anne K. O'Neill, Serpentent’s Mother of Light is an unflinching masterwork of artistry from cover to cover. O’Neill’s dark folk soundtracks, with her song-craft and voice bringing to mind Lisa Gerrard and Jocelyn Pook will appeal to fans of everything from Chelsea Wolfe, Darkher, Lindy-Fay Hella and Dead Can Dance to Emma Ruth Rundle, Enya, Mazzy Star, and even Svart Records own Hexvessel. It’s hard not to believe that Serpentent is a prescient star whose moment has arrived. Mother of Light is a shining gem of darkness waiting to be discovered and explode into the mainstream. As explorers who have been there discovering many new artists as they emerge, take our word for it that Serpentent is one to seek out, to be there as the levee breaks. Allow Mother Of Light’s wave of life and death to illuminate you.

LIPS TURN BLUE, formerly DDrive, Sign Worldwide Record Deal with MIG RECORDS

LIPS TURN BLUE, formerly DDrive, Sign Worldwide Record Deal with MIG RECORDS.

New York rockers turn tragedy into triumph;
after the passing of legendary lead vocalist Phil Naro, band releases brilliant debut album and adds new singer/ musician, Iggy Marino.

LIPS TURN BLUE, formerly known in the Upstate New York region as the popular club act, DDRIVE, has regrouped and returned with a new name, a brilliant debut album, a world-wide record contract, and a new member in singer/musician Iggy Marino. The band (nicknamed LTB) which also includes guitarist Don Mancuso, keyboardist Eric Bieber, bassist Mike Mullane, and drummer Roy Stein are currently preparing for the release of its new album and some select concert dates.

Pre-orders / pre saves available here: https://lipsturnblue.lnk.to/justpush

The group’s first single, "Just Push" will be released March 23rd. That will be followed by other singles: “Pray For Tomorrow,” an ode to the turbulent times much of the world is experiencing; "Blood Moon," and "Crazy In Love." The debut album, LIPS TURN BLUE will have its worldwide release this coming May 4th., to coincide with the one year anniversary of the week he passed away.

When the band’s lead vocalist and co-songwriter Phil Naro sadly passed away after a valiant battle against cancer the group’s future was in doubt. Naro and the other band members had just secured a worldwide record deal with the European-based label, MIG RECORDS, and had put the finishing touches on the album when his illness returned, and tragedy struck.

As his illness progressed the band members assured Naro the record would be released, and they would continue to pursue his artistic vision for the material he felt was his best work as a songwriter and vocalist. Now, with the record deal signed, a release date set and a dynamic new vocalist in place, their promise to their fallen musical comrade can finally be fulfilled.

Iggy Marino came to the band after an extensive search for a new vocalist. He is a recent Nazareth College graduate whose instructors at the school included LTB drummer Roy Stein and its manager, Bruce Pilato, who both teach music-industry courses there.

“We feel we have a great singer and fellow musician in place that the music touches and motivates,” says Don Mancuso. “We want to get this amazing music out there. It needs to be played to as many music fans as possible. After our period of mourning Phil’s loss, we now have the drive and experience to take this music on the road and finish our next album, which is already well in the works.”

Adds Eric Bieber, who, in addition to his skill has a classically trained keyboardist and longtime professional performing musician, recently retired as a physician and hospital executive administrator. “Phil was passionate in his desire to have this music heard and performed. We are honored to be able to carry on his legacy by doing just that. Iggy Marino is a remarkable young musician who will take the band in yet another direction with some of the new material. He is also a fan of the existing album and will be faithful to Phil’s vision.”

Lou Gramm, founding member and former lead vocalist of FOREIGNER, appears on the album's final track, "A Little Outside."

“We believe this is one of the strongest debut albums we have heard in many years,” says Bernd Ramien, A&R & Director of Catalog Marketing for MIG (Made-In Germany-Music GmbH), which signed the band soon after only hearing a few tracks from the debut album. “We had thought and hoped Phil would overcome his illness, but when he sadly left us, we were determined to make sure this album and band could carry on.”

At the moment, MIG has plans to release three singles by the time the full album is available this coming April. The group is currently booking tour dates to coincide with the album’s release. Based in Hannover, Germany but distributed worldwide, MIG Music has released albums by an extraordinary roster of acts that includes: Joe Jackson, Sheila E, Jack Bruce of Cream, Roger McGuinn, Ron Wood, Muddy Waters, Pee Wee Ellis, Maceo Parker, Weather Report, Nash Albert, Pat Travers Band, Vanilla Fudge, Richard Thompson, George Thorogood, Public Image Ltd, and many others.

Horizon Ignited - New Album Announced + Release Of New Single/Video "Reveries"

The newly signed HORIZON IGNITED proudly announce the upcoming release of their long-playerTowards The Dying Lands. The first album of the band published under Nuclear Blast will be released on July 1st of this year. After the massive title single Towards The Dying Lands, the Finnish sextet is now revealing the next banger from their highly anticipated album.

The Finns deliver their brand new single "Reveries" including a new stunning music video to heat up and celebrate the upcoming next big milestone in their career. The highly endowed newcomers of melodic death metal convince once again with fiery riffs and they show what you can expect in the near future. The album is available for pre-order now!

Watch the video below.
Listen to the single here: https://bfan.link/HIreveries

Pre-order the album here: https://bfan.link/HorizonIgnitedTTDL

The band comments on the new single:
"'Reveries' is a song about losing all your hope and drowning into despair that you can not escape from. What is it like to lose the grip of yourself and your humanity? How deep are the wounds that grief and loss cut? These core lyrical themes are surrounded by not that typical song for Horizon Ignited. Intro and choruses are massive and melodic giving the listener a spark of hope which is then killed by the heavy verses. The fight between these two main themes of the song creates a fascinating contrast for the lyrics.
The music video for the song was filmed during the band's pre-production session for Towards The Dying Lands album at Lammaskallion Audio in Tuusula, Finland. The video is a very raw set of the band performing the song combined with aerial footage from the same day, which turned out to be probably the most beautiful day in fall 2019. The video is edited by the keyboardist Miska Ek and guitarist Johannes Mäkinen.
Aggressive, melancholic, and melodic - Reveries."

Founded back in 2017 by guitarists Johannes Mäkinen and Vili Vottonen, the debut album After the Storm was unleashed when the northern winds choked HORIZON IGNITED's hometown of Kouvola in early 2019. The completely self-published album met very positive feedback and the band has made its mark since then.

HORIZON IGNITED's diverse class of act − captivating and guitar-driven melodic death metal flavored with catchy metalcore elements among others.

Johannes Mäkinen | Guitar
Vili Vottonen | Guitar
Miska Ek | Keyboards
Jukka Haarala | Bass

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT Announce New EP 'SOLITAER'

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT Announce New EP 'SOLITAER' Coming August 26th, 2022

German progressive metal trio The Hirsch Effekt have announced their new EP, 'SOLITAER', for August 26th, 2022.

The social distancing restrictions of the Corona era prompted The Hirsch Effekt to take a radical step: what if you not only recorded by yourself for the next release, but also wrote the songs completely alone? One song per band member. And so came about the concept of SOLITAER, which means "living individually" and thus represents the antonym to gregarious - Social distancing as a songwriting concept. The opinion of the other band members was welcome, but required no necessity and didn’t need to influence the work of the respective musicians. In the end, three songs were created - all of which showcase typical characteristics that are part of The Hirsch Effekt recipe, but do not sound like typical The Hirsch Effekt songs. It not only sounds like an extremely exciting experiment, but also frankly speaking: exceedingly extreme. The SOLITAER EP is rounded off by a band version of the song "Gregaer", which was originally created as an orchestral version.

'SOLITAER' will be released as:

  • limited and serially-numbered LP Edition incl. black vinyl

  • Exclusive Napalm Records Shop Edition incl. colored vinyl

  • CD Edition incl. both 'SOLITAER' and 'GREGAER' EP's

  • Streaming/Digital

Also, The Hirsch Effekt's latest vinyl EP, 'GREGAER', is now available again as a limited reissue with a red-colored LP.

All formats are available for pre-order here: https://thehirscheffekt.lnk.to/solitaer

The Hirsch Effekt are:

Nils Wittrock (Guitar, Vocals)

Ilja John Lappin (Bass, Vocals)

Moritz Schmidt (Drums, Vocals)

Catch LYDIA CAN'T BREATHE on the 'We're All Sick Now' Tour with City of the Weak! Tour Begins on March 24th!

"We are all sick now, we have no choice!"

Hard rock metal quartet LYDIA CAN'T BREATHE will kick off the 'We're All Sick Now' tour with City of the Weak on March 24th in Chesapeake, VA at Riffhouse Pub and conclude on April 10th in Charleston, WV.

The tour is in support of their brand new single "Sick Now" that released on January 21, 2022.

Please get in touch if you would like to attend a show for review, photos or to interview the band.

"I wrote these lyrics while quarantined during the first wave of Covid. It's a true reflection of how I was feeling at the time, and what we were all going through. All I was thinking about was how I wanted to do shows and get back in the studio. We couldn't even practice together because we were all getting sick and shit was changing life as we knew it. I was actually sick when I wrote the song. That day I decided to smoke a bowl and wrote some lyrics about how we are sick now and the feelings I had about that. Looking back now at that time, I didn't realize how relevant the song would end up being and the significance of the concept. We ended up liking the idea so much we decided to make it our next single with a music video." says Kyle Bolduc.

The single is a fresh take on the band's trademark sound with melodic guitars and dark tendencies. It showcases their ear candy intros, face melting guitar riffs, while still clinging to their heavy transitions and breakdowns.

The album artwork for 'Dread Reaver,' which was created by Bjørn Stian Bjoarvik, can be found below along with the tracklist.

The ravens gaze ominously from above. The seas roar in anticipation. The mountains creak yet again. Abbath’s remarkable new album, Dread Reaver, is upon us all. Two years in the making, Abbath’s third full-length is the culmination of everything before it. A fusion of debut Abbath (2016) and follow-up Outstrider (2019), the aptly titled Dread Reaver extends its fantastical fangs outward and drives its cloven hooves onward. Indeed, there’s nothing like an Abbath record. This is the darkest metal for epic journeys and ancient battles. Comprised of eight riveting tracks and a red-hot cover of Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice,” Dread Reaver shows Abbath triumphing over all trials and tribulations, riding hard into merciless glory as the one and only “Lemmy of black metal.”

Abbath was formed by Olve Eikemo (aka Abbath) in Bergen, Norway, in 2015. After splitting with vaunted extreme metallers Immortal, the beguiling frontman and storied songwriter only had one path: Abbath. Years before, he had proven that venturing out of the Immortal constellation was not only plausible but doable with the I project, a short-lived, one-album (Between Two Worlds) band featuring notable musicians from Immortal, Enslaved, and Gorgoroth. Indeed, once Eikemo was free of Immortal’s shackles, he was able to assemble a cadre of like-minded conspirators for his solo debut album, Abbath. So crucial was Abbath that the Norwegian Embassy in the UK ran a music/culture piece, while in Norway, the album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy). Metal Hammer Germany even gonged Abbath with its Best Debut award. Follow-up album, Outstrider, was equally lauded. Billboard’s coverage sent shockwaves through the rock/metal scenes, while Kerrang! labeled it “dominating and creative,” awarding it 4Ks. Decibelalso heaped praise on Outstrider, giving it the Best New Noise trophy. New album Dread Reaver will yet again lionize Abbath as leader of the frost-bitten pack.

Powered by Abbath’s creative musical imagination, Dread Reaver runs riotously out of the gate. The album’s edifice affords tracks like “Acid Haze,” “Scarred Core,” “The Deep Unbound,” and the album’s closing title track ample room to champion the extremes of black metal, heavy metal, and hard rock. While there are nods to NWOBHM greats, thrash metal’s luminaries, and black metal icons, Dread Reaver is unmistakably Abbath. There is no other fingerprint. Paired with thought-provoking lyrics based on the historical figure of Othryades, Abbath’s new album not only shouts exultant but reads like an ancient pyrrhic tale steeped in violence, sorrow, and grit. The idea of a Dread Reaver—a fearless duelist—can also be read as a metaphor for life’s actions and subsequent struggles. Be warned: Dread Reaver is Abbath at his most menacing and accomplished.

Dread Reaver was produced by Endre Kirkesola, Abbath, and Dag Erik Nygaard at Dub Studio in Kristiansand and Bergen Lydstudio, respectively. Kirkesola and Nygaard also engineered. Mixing was performed by Abbath and Kirkesola, while the mastering was done by maestro Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Rob Halford) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in Los Angeles. The goal was to field a storming production that sat firmly at the crossroads of Abbath’s heroes Kiss, Motörhead, Manowar, and Bathory. From the anthemic thrust of opener “Acid Haze” and the epic pound of “Dream Cull” to the rampaging “The Book of Breath” and the wicked cover of Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice,” Dread Reaversounds as massive as Norwegian mountain and as fiery as the depths of Hell. Truly, the recording lineup of Abbath (guitar, bass, vocals), Ukri Suvilehto (drums), Ole André Farstad (guitars), and Mia Wallace (bass) found their sonic muse.

Abbath and Season of Mist will release Dread Reaver on February 25th, 2022. The album features a Bjørn Stian Bjoarvik (Immortal) cover and will be supported by singles “Dream Cull”, “Dread Reaver” and “The Book of Breath.” Of course, it’ll all be powered by Abbath’s wry, larger-than-life persona. If “Ace of Spades” catapulted Motörhead to fame and notoriety, then Dread Reaver will find Abbath atop extreme metal’s gigantic heap, the spoils of icy blood, scorching sweat, and steely tears at his feet. As “Myrmidon” states, “Die with a smile, stare glassy-eyed up / At boiling skies! / Valkyries descend to gore-caked fen / Fallen warriors arise!” Lightning strikes thrice with Abbath’s incredible Dread Reaver!

Recording line-up:
Abbath - Guitar, bass & vocals
Ukri Suvilehto - Drums
Ole André Farstad - Lead & acoustic guitars
Mia Wallace - Bass on Acid Haze, Scarred Core, The Deep Unbound & Dread Reaver
Simon Dancaster - Lyrics

Thunder have shared the second taste of their upcoming new album ‘Dopamine’, out 29th April on BMG – a slab of optimistic arena-rock, ‘Dancing In The Sunshine’.

The band have also shared a lyric video for the track, which is a perfect pick-you-up and rallying cry against the current gloomy period of human history.

They’ve been riding a wave of success since their 2015 comeback album Wonder Days, releasing the acclaimed All The Right Noises last year, with Classic Rock speculating that it could be the band’s best album yet.. The White Buffalo Releasing Deluxe Edition of "On The Widow's Walk" + Shares "The Drifter" Feat. Shooter Jennings — LISTEN

Originally released on the cusp of the pandemic in April 2020, On The Widow's Walk is the sixth studio outing from The White Buffalo — the touring/recording persona of singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jake Smith. He's a seasoned teller of stories and Emmy nominee.

On The Widow's Walk is being re-issued in expanded and re-packaged form by Snakefarm. Get it here.

Listen to the new and acoustic version of "The Drifter" featuring Shooter Jennings below.

This new version, featuring revised artwork and four bonus tracks, is set to be released digitally on April 15. It will follow on CD on April 22. It's a collection of dark thrills topped off by Smith's timber-shakin' baritone, with water and the ocean as underlying themes, and a sense of longing, too.

The 11 core tracks on the album were produced by Shooter Jennings, Grammy-winning son of Waylon, whose previous credits include both Brandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker. Shooter also plays piano on 3 of the 4 bonus tracks — acoustic, live-in-the-studio renditions of some of the record's prime moments. The fourth bonus track is "Guiding Light," a full band plea to the gods never previously available on a physical release.

On The Widow's Walk is a compelling statement from a unique artist whose songs are consistently mined by the worlds of TV and film; and now, with uncontrived, hand-crafted music receiving increased levels of attention, the timing is perfect for this powerful, provoking album to be spotlighted once more.

Smith adds, "On The Widow's Walk was nearly buried in the storm of a pandemic and social unrest. Now, finally able to tour again, coming to the UK and Europe in mid-April after two years of waiting, we are releasing a special deluxe edition. With merely myself and producer/ pianist Shooter Jennings, this new addition includes three stripped down, live studio versions of three songs from the album. it also includes the first physical release of the song 'Guiding Light.'"

Smith's songwriting and honest storytelling shines through in On The Widow's Walk. At its core, The White Buffalo is about engagement. The White Buffalo makes people laugh and cry. URFERD Releases Lyric Video for "Avfärd"

URFERD Releases Lyric Video for New Single "Avfärd"

Debut Album 'Resan' Coming April 15th

Nordic ambient folk solo project URFERD has released a new single from their upcoming debut album. The new track, "Avfärd", is available now and accompanied by a lyric video. Speaking about the single, Urferd mastermind Daniel Beckman comments:

"AVFÄRD (Departure) signifies the beginning of a journey - a long voyage filled with strife and hardships. It describes the woe of leaving loved ones behind, and entering the unknown vastness of the wilderness. Hope and glory beckons, but supplies are meager and the relentless cold is biting, as we make our way through the deep mountains and windswept woods of the north."

The debut album from URFERD, 'Resan' will see an April 15, 2022 release via Black Lodge Records.

A concept waiting years to emerge, URFERD officially saw the light of day in late 2020.

The first album, 'RESAN', will be released on Black Lodge Records in 2022, and is a musical odyssey in both a literal and figurative sense. The album takes the listener on a journey through dark and olden nordic forests; where strife and hardships follow in our steps, yet where the beauty and vastness of the solemn nordic landscape persists and permeates. From the album opening’s depiction of a serene morning’s dawn, to the closing track’s respite of a hearth at nightfall, RESAN traverses a multitude of captivating musical landscapes and themes throughout its eight songs. URFERD signifies the beginning of a new and additional musical chapter for its founder and sole member, Daniel Beckman (TWILIGHT FORCE, AGES), and brings a refreshing new perspective to the genre, challenging the boundaries of dark atmospheric folk music.

SOMALI YACHT CLUB Premieres New Song "Pulsar"

Psychedelic stoner rock trio SOMALI YACHT CLUB will be releasing their third full-length, 'The Space,' on April 22 via Season of Mist, making it the band's debut to the label! The band has partnered up with the Big Takeover to premiere their second new single, "Pulsar," which can be heard below

The native Ukrainians have pledged to donate all profits made in 2022 (until the end of the year) to various charities to help Ukraine.

'The Space' can be pre-saved via all digital streaming platforms HERE and pre-ordered HERE.

SOMALI YACHT CLUB is a moniker designed to represent dichotomy and variance. Named after the real-life pirates who attack vessels off the Somalian coast and the peaceful leisure of those with time to kill and money to burn, SOMALI YACHT CLUB musically embodies the boundless, wide-open, quiet/loud spaces that atmospheric post-rock and metal occupy. After over a decade of mesmerizing audiences in their Ukrainian home base and Eastern Europe, SOMALI YACHT CLUB inked a deal with Season of Mist in 2021 to reissue their back catalogue and release their third full-length, The Space.

The band’s story began in 2010 when guitarist/vocalist Ihor sent drummer Lesyk a random message on a Ukrainian musician’s forum to play a hybrid of math rock, post-hardcore, stoner and post-metal. Intrigued, Lesyk called bassist Artur to create the band’s first (and only) lineup. The initial jam sessions went so well that the trio decided to move forward on a permanent basis. Relying on albums such as Moccasin’s The Last Leaf, Ahkmed’s early EPs, Mars Red Sky’s self-titled, the entire Sungrazer discography and the legendary Isis duo of Oceanic and Panopticon, as well as Down, Electric Wizard, Queens of the Stone Age and now-labelmates Weedeater, the SOMALI YACHT CLUBsound was formulated.

“It was a very naive and simple time,” comments the band. “Ihor, as always, was full of energy and it was not enough for him for the bands in which he played at the time. We just started to jam and found the blend that fits all of us. Also, we always loved bands and particular songs that are eclectic — we get a lot of inspiration from such things. They are fun to play and hopefully fun to listen to.”

However broad and varied their influences may be, SOMALI YACHT CLUBstarted to forge their own path via their self-released 2011 Sandsongs and 2013 Desert Walls EP. The pair laid the groundwork for their formidable full-length debut, The Sun, which channeled spaced-out, psychedelic jams with churning stoner doom metal. Their amalgamation of all-things stoner continued through the 2015 Sun’s Eyes EP and 2018 The Sea full-length, the latter noted by The Sludgelord that it “succeeds in taking the listener on that well-known ride of warm tones and meandering melodies” and MetalStorm.net stating, “SOMALI YACHT CLUB offers up a fresh spin on a rich but well-explored genre and in doing so deliver one of the early highlights of 2018.”

The new year brings forth The Space. The album was tracked at various points throughout 2021 at Jenny Records near Lviv, Ukraine, with mixing and mastering courtesy of Yaroslav Tseluiko at Jaro Sound in the Czech Republic. The cover depicts a supernova and was handled by Dasha Pliska, who was also responsible for The Sun and The Sea artwork. The Space also completes the trilogy that began with The Sun and The Sea, but, according to the band, there is no unifying theme.

“It’s a bit hard to tell a real story in our music because, let’s be honest — it’s still more instrumental-focused. The Space is very loosely connected to a single concept as it has even more abstract and personal lyrical themes. Also, the song ‘Pulsar’ was the first written and named song for this album, so it set a path for the title.”

The Space finds SOMALI YACHT CLUB now in full expanse of their sonic elements, delivering six cuts of atmospheric post-rock/metal with dashes of melancholy and introspection. Ihor’s relaxed, if not smooth delivery runs parallel to his driving, fuzzed-out riffs that are dotted with traces of melody. The rhythm section of Artur and Lesyk is the undisputed anchor, maintaining a careful ebb and flow that embellishes songs that demand room to breathe and require texture and thoughtfulness — notably the 12-minute-plus closer, “Momentum,” which features one of the band’s finest jams to date. Such numbers resulted from SOMALI YACHT CLUB’s regular practice sessions that bore more than enough new material.

“We wrote The Space pretty much the same way as the previous two,” says the band. “We brought an idea or a riff to rehearsal, play and jam it a lot of times to see if it doesn’t go stale, record demos, listen, think, re-think, change everything and so on. This time we went to the studio with more than enough material — some even didn’t get a proper recording as we understood it needed even more time to mature and be reconsidered. Some ideas became an outtake; some songs were created right in the studio.”

Like their name serving a dual purpose, so does SOMALI YACHT CLUB’s output on The Space. The album contains a regular balancing act between heaviness and soft, clean guitar moments that will place SOMALI YACHT CLUB into the echelons of bands who have previously mastered the timeless art of dynamics. The Space is the perfect elixir in a time rife with uncertainty, menace and chaos. Alas, the new age of stoner has arrived.

CRADLE OF FILTH - Release New Video "How Many Tears To Norture A Rose"

Demonic outfit CRADLE OF FILTH is proud to release an extraordinary new video, accompanying their magnificently mournful track "How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose?". The video premiered last night as part of CRADLE OF FILTH's Infernal Vernal Equinox Deadstream, and now fans all across the globe can also bask in its sublime black magick.

Directed by Vicente Cordero, the stunning video winds a haunting tale - sinister, alluring, and deadly. But he that dares not grasp the thorn, should never crave the rose...

Infamous front-man Dani Filth stated:
"This is yet another great video by director Vicente Cordero, encapsulating the occult essence of the song’s lyricism with great sweeping colorful strokes of total batshit-craziness.
It really makes for frightening, yet strangely compelling viewing!"

Watch 'How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose?'

The gates of hell opened once again in 2021, revealing CRADLE OF FILTH's 13th manifesto Existence Is Futile. Pieced together in isolation at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru Scott Atkins, the record is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal masterpiece, based around the concept of existentialism.

Diehard fans were thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug 'Pinhead' Bradley made a welcome return, lending his dulcet tones to the band's most politically astute song to date, the epic "Suffer Our Dominion" as well as the album bonus track "Sisters Of The Mist", which is the conclusion to the "Her Ghost In The Fog" trilogy, started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic Midian.

CRADLE OF FILTH has a heavy touring year ahead including a run with legend Glenn Danzig across the US and a slew of summer festival dates.

Belched from Hell’s depths into the rustic charms of the Witch County, Suffolk, thirty long and disturbing years ago, CRADLE OF FILTH are undisputed giants of the heavy metal realm. Imperious purveyors of a perennially unique strain of dark, dastardly, and willfully extreme metal, with deep roots in the worlds of gothic horror and occult curiosity, the band led by Dani Filth has weathered three decades of tumult and trial, earning a formidable reputation as both a singular creative force and one of the most riotously entertaining live bands the metal world has ever produced.

Randy Houser Unveils One-Take Music Video for "Note To Self" + Performs to Sold-Out Ryman Auditorium Sunday, 3/20

Directed by Jay Christensen, One-Take Video Shot Entirely by Drone
Showcases Longstanding Performer Path Between
Historic Ryman Auditorium and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge

Houser Soars at Sold Out Show at Ryman Auditorium
Sunday, March 20 with Special Guests Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson

“Call it regressionist country, but for Houser, it is vital and potent” – Pollstar

On the heels of the release of his latest song “Note To Self,” country powerhouse Randy Houser unveils an innovative performance video directed by internationally acclaimed cinematographer Jay Christensen and co-directed by Spencer S. Peter, shot in one take entirely by a drone. Watch the video HERE.

Shot in downtown Nashville, the video follows Houser performing solo from Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, across the alley and to the historic stage of Ryman Auditorium where he joins his full band.

“It was amazing to watch Jay go to work. He’s like a mad scientist with these drones,” shares Houser. “After seeing his viral bowling alley video last year, we thought about taking that concept and applying it to a performance video in these historic locations.

“We also wanted to spotlight a special part of Nashville, one that not everyone gets to experience,” the Mississippi-native continues. “The short walk between the Ryman and Tootsie’s is a path taken by some of the most legendary performers across all genres. It felt like a special way to honor and appreciate two of the city’s most enduring staples.”

Named as “one of the best voices in the genre” by Rolling Stone, Houser delivered the first taste of new music since 2019’s critically acclaimed Magnolia with the release of “Note To Self,” co-written with Ross Copperman, Casey Beathard and Bobby Pinson, with Billboard sharing the song “follows in a rich tradition of country ‘wisdom songs,’” and “Houser’s booming and nuanced country baritone is as captivating as ever.”

With multiple sold-out shows so far in 2022, Houser wrapped his headlining tour last night, Sunday, March 20 with a sold-out performance at Ryman Auditorium, with special guests Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson.

“Harkening back to a time when country stars came, played hard and sang truth, Houser’s show spoke more of Merle Haggard’s prime, or Waylon Jennings’ – suggesting an era where songs that contained adult lives were created to give people of a certain age music that held their reality,” praises Pollstar.

“If there was ever a voice made for Ryman Auditorium, it’s yours,” Bentley said to Houser on stage Sunday night.

Houser joins Jamey Johnson beginning this week for their co-headlining Country Cadillac Tour Part 2, featuring the two longtime friends sharing the stage once again while performing acoustically and swapping jokes and stories. Tickets are available at RandyHouser.com.

About Randy Houser
With an inimitable voice the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser racked up three consecutive No. 1 hits and more than four million in singles sales to date with his Stoney Creek Records album, How Country Feels. He topped the charts with the title track, “Runnin' Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and earned critical acclaim for his powerful delivery of the Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year-nominated “Like A Cowboy.” Houser added a fourth No. 1 to his catalogue with “We Went” from his 2016 album, Fired Up. Following 2019’s critically acclaimed Magnolia, Houser’s “Note To Self,” is available now, with more new music on the horizon in 2022. For more information, go to RandyHouser.com.

The San Francisco Bay Area has a history steeped in forward-thinking, technically dazzling metal, and NITE carries that torch with pride. Founded in 2018, their blackened heavy metal brand barrels towards the peril of an unknown future, while keeping one eye on the days when blistering leads once ruled the land. Guitarists Van Labrakis (Satan’s Wrath, Mencea) and Scott Hoffman (Dawnbringer, High Spirits) let loose galloping riffs and harmonies that evoke the classic sounds of the N.W.O.B.H.M., with Labrakis’ grizzled voice driving their dark, melodic metal into the modern era.

With Avinash Mittur (Wild Hunt) replacing founding bassist Bryan Coons in early 2021, he and drummer Patrick Crawford (Serpents of Dawn, Older Sun) make up a rhythm section that’s fierce yet breathlessly precise: a freewheel pounding reminiscent of the early days of heavy metal, with a Rickenbacker-powered roar fueling the low end. NITE’s debut full-length Darkness Silence Mirror Flame, released in March 2020 by Creator-Destructor Records, earned widespread praise. It showcased their fist-raising classic heavy metal that nearly every fan of the genre once fell in love with, but with a twisted and shadowy edge that the titans of old could never imagine. NITE is the flame of the past illuminating the darkness of tomorrow.

Morgan Wallen's Nashville Shows Raise $120k for More Than My Hometown Foundation; Weekend Pop-up Show Continues

After three nights of at-capacity crowds in Music City on his Dangerous Tour, totaling more than 40,000 fans across consecutive nights at Bridgestone Arena, Morgan Wallen kept the music playing with a pop-up, stripped-down acoustic set for a crowd of roughly 100 fans at Graduate Nashville’s Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

The fourth show in four days made good on a prize rewarded to a raffle winner from his Morgan Wallen & Friends Show at Marathon Music Works on Sept. 8, 2021, where over $800,000 was raised for flood victims of Middle Tennessee, in partnership with The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund.

Fans were given a hint of the discreet pop-up show via an Instagram post made by Graduate Nashville just hours before the show’s start. They did this with a picture of one of the animatronic animals wearing a guitar strap that said “Dangerous.” It also tagged Morgan Wallen asking if it was “Quittin’ Time” yet. Seated on a stage with guitar in hand, alongside bandmates Dominic Frost and Tyler Tomlinson, the East Tennessean treated those in attendance to cuts from his ACM Album of the Year, Dangerous, including its title track, current single “Wasted on You,” No. 1s “More Than My Hometown” and If I Know Me’s “Chasin’ You.”

In tune with the crowd and exchanging lively banter, Wallen lamented his frustration that the University of Tennessee’s men’s basketball team had just lost minutes before taking the stage. Just days before, Wallen sported a Tennessee Volunteers’ shirt on stage Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena following the Vols’ win in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The singer/songwriter also performed a solo/acoustic version of his Top 25 collaboration with ERNEST, “Flower Shops,” before closing the night with his No. 1 smash “Whiskey Glasses.”

In a statement Wallen has shared on the foundation’s website, he says the idea for the organization came out of his own family’s experience. “Since my parents fostered and now officially adopted my sister Lacey, I’ve witnessed what love and care can do for a child that didn’t have it before. She has transformed into a confident, trusting and happy kid,” he writes. “There are many elements that aid in the development and protection of an adolescent’s life, and that is why I created the foundation so a child’s resources are not limited due to their circumstances.”

In 2022, $3 from every ticket sold on his Dangerous Tour benefits More Than My Hometown Foundation. The three-night stop at Bridgestone last week alone raised over $120,000 that will be put into initiatives for adolescent development, resources and local communities.

ABOUT MORGAN WALLEN
The New Yorker dubbed Morgan Wallen “the most wanted man in country” in part due to the CMA Award Winner’s 9 billion on-demand streams, multi-platinum certifications and four consecutive chart-toppers, and in part due to his flyover appeal: “Bruce Springsteen meets Larry the Cable Guy.” The critically-acclaimed follow-up to his Double Platinum breakout If I Know Me, Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic Records), topped 2021’s all-genre Billboard 200 Albums year-end chart with 4.1 million units sold and sparked an in-demand 58-show THE DANGEROUS TOUR in 2022 that kicked off this February and sees the “Up Down” (2017), “Whiskey Glasses” (2018), “Chasin’ You” (2019), “More Than My Hometown” (2020), “7 Summers” (2020, named one of Time Magazine’s Best Songs of the Year) and “Sand In My Boots” singer playing two nights at Madison Square Garden and three nights at Bridgestone Arena. Working outside the traditional Nashville mainframe with producer Joey Moi, Hits Magazine notes, “Wallen continually colors outside the lines,” adding, in turn “he’s connected to his fans in ways unprecedented for a country star.” With over 800k tickets already sold for 2022 just 14-shows in, $3 from every ticket sold benefits the songwriter from East Tennessee’s More Than My Hometown Foundation.

Children of the Sün Release New Album 'Roots'

Sweden’s retro rockers Children of the Sün have released their new studio album, 'Roots'. The sextet's sophomore full length is a natural progression from their highly praised debut album 'Flowers'. While the sound is refined and structurally more direct, the Woodstock loving hippie-spirit of the band shines on the 13 new tracks from their new album. With a retro sound and soulful, multi-layered vocal harmonies, 'Roots' reflects a journey through life towards finding oneself; with songs about ups and downs, love and hate, light and darkness.

"On your journey through life, you grow like a tree. Everything that you have been, who you are right now and who you may become, once started with your roots."

'Roots' was recorded at Church Bay Records in Arvika, Sweden. It was mixed by the guitarist Jacob Hellenrud and mastered by Hans Olsson at Svenska Grammofon Studion (Graveyard, Soundtrack of our Lives, The Hives). The album cover was illustrated by Revolver Design, who has previously provided artwork for bands such as Alter Bridge, Louise Lemón, and Nephila.

'Roots' is out now via The Sign Records. The album is available in CD, vinyl, and digital formats.

Children of the Sün Bio:

Inspired by Janis Joplin, Rival Sons, and the free lovin’ spirit of 1969’s legendary Woodstock Festival, Children of the Sün embody both the carefree and reflective sides of classic rock music. Following their 2018 success in the Swedish music competition Livekarusellen, the band released a self-titled EP and later came under the wing of The Sign Records, joining acts such as Hällas, MaidaVale, Skraeckoedlan, and The Hawkins. In 2019 the band released their first full-length album Flowers which was received with great love from the audience and the vinyl sold out just a few months after the release.

The song “Her Game” from their debut album got chosen by the Swedish nationwide newspaper Aftonbladet on their list of best rock songs of 2019.

Since then the band has played on festivals and stages around Sweden including Arvika Hamnfest, Festival Of The Midnight Sun, Putte i Parken, The Sign fest and hosted their own show in a barn out in the woods together with drummer Björn Fryklund (Freak Kitchen) Earlier this year they supported Trummor & Orgel on their tour.
