Rejoining forces after many years of silence, AGATHODAIMON’s long-awaited comeback album, The Seven, is one not to miss! The bittersweet seventh record of the German dark metal force will drop this Friday, March 18 via Napalm Records. The brand new ten track offering stays true to their old-school spirit and hits with new vigor, one hard to pigeonhole due to its widespread musical styles, creating gloomy atmospheres with sharp growls and insane clear vocals.

After unveiling the massively intense first single “Ain’t Death Grand”, followed by gloomy “Wolf Within”, the gates of darkness are calling you to enter once more with the infernal third offering “Kyrie/Gloria”. The track stomps towards heavy doom metal, conjuring a black mass with creeping darkness and desperate screams turning into harsh black metal parts, all topped by the outstanding guest appearance of Benighted frontman Julien Truchan. “Kyrie/Gloria” comes along with an atmospherically fitting music video shot within the impressive scenery of Arenfels Castle, Germany. AGATHODAIMON are ringing the bell for one last dance with the devil before The Seven is finally unleashed.

Formed in 1995 and entering the scene with their debut, Blacken the Angel, in 1998, bandleader Sathonys was temporarily forced to put AGATHODAIMON on hold in 2014 due to private circumstances. But the irrevocable fire of the band and their fans never went out, seeking a reawakening of this sonic, seething beast. The unit's massive new outburst, The Seven, reveals extreme soundscapes amid a captivating concoction of evil, provoking, cutting dark metal and heroic symphonic black metal in the style of bands like Cradle of Filthand Carach Angren, but with their unique and very own multifaceted take. Thematically, as hinted by the album’s title, the full-length is centered around the momentous and symbolically powerful number seven and the seven deadly sins - sloth, greed, lust, gluttony, pride, wrath, envy - on ten tracks total, all addressed with religious themes that contrast with human beings and its original nature.

We had to make sure we (can) work together as a band after all these years, that the chemistry is there, that it feels organic to release another album after such a long break. Typically, you can point a finger at one or two songs that really stand out from the rest, but here, you’ll feel the effort that was put into every song and every aspect. Diving into this exciting construct with opener “La Haine”, the track lures the listener into the freezing, dark world of AGATHODAIMON, produced by long-time companion Kristian “Kohle” Bonifer (Aborted, Powerwolf, Hämatom amongst others), by building up a dense wall of thunderous sound, accented by a multifaceted vocal interpretation. Songs like raging “Wolf Within” and haunting “In my Dreams” roam between dense soundscapes, crushing instrumentals and intense lyricism. “Kyrie / Gloria” on the other hand stomps more towards heavy doom metal, calling for a black mass with creeping darkness and desperate screams turning into harsh black metal parts, all topped by the guest appearance of Benightedfrontman Julien Truchan. Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of Baltimore tech death outfit WORMHOLE! The band is gearing up to release their third full-length album, which will be released by Season of Mist in 2023! Stay tuned!

Since its formation in 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland, WORMHOLE has been spearheading the tech slam movement, introducing strong melodies, technical prowess, and virtuosity to hard-hitting brutal death metal. In October 2015, and in 2016 WORMHOLE released their aptly titled debut album “Genesis” on Lacerated Enemy Records.

With influences drawn from Necrophagist, Abominable Putridity, and Beyond Creation, WORMHOLE has been described as “monumental” and “monstrous”, with “ferocious slams” that “bludgeon listeners senseless”.

In December 2017, WORMHOLE made their incendiary live debut. In 2018, they partnered with Vulvodynia on a tour of Europe, and in 2019 joined the infamous yearly Tech Trek tour with death metal giants ARCHSPIRE, INFERI, and VIRVUM.

“The Weakest Among Us”, released in January 2020, WORMHOLE is bridging the gap between brutality and virtuosity and pushing the boundaries of what a death metal band can be.

Klaus Schulze and the German record company SPV have extended their long-term cooperation and are currently preparing a new campaign. The new studio album of the electronic legend is titled 'Deus Arrakis', and will be released in 2022.

"After many years of successful collaboration with SPV, it was only natural to put my new album back into the proven hands of an excellent team," Klaus Schulze comments on the contract extension. "I'm happy that the fruitful collaboration continues and wish us all a successful release for my new album 'Deus Arrakis', which is very close to my heart."

JOHNNY THE BOY is the menacing arm of creepy music deemed too heavy for the mother band Crippled Black Phoenix. Previously called World War, JOHNNY THE BOY is actually a long time planned project of Justin and Belinda, the genesis of which was back in around 2017. At a CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX tour rehearsal, the two were jamming some banshee vocal style Black Metal purely for kicks, but then became a more serious prospect to make some heavy tunes. JOHNNY THE BOY is also a huge payment of respect to Justin and Belinda's long history in heavy music, Belinda with STABB and Justin with a whole bag of dirty bands, including Iron Monkey, Electric Wizard, Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine etc..

Jump to 2019 and a demo was created along with long time friend Matt Crawford (Formally of Weirdwolf) and released under the name “World War”. It was a primitive and raw experiment into what would become JOHNNY THE BOY. Roll on 2021 and a plan is hatched after including a “World War” song in the most recent CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX album session. Season Of Mist heard it and decided to release an album of this new heavy stuff.

2022 - World War is re-named JOHNNY THE BOY. The album is written and the band (made up of Belinda Kordic, Justin Greaves and Matt Crawford) enter Chapel Studio to record some of the most brutal, menacing and creepy music they’ve created for more than two decades. Belinda bringing out the vicious banshee along with some deathly haunting howls, Justin back doing sludgy battle drums and blast attack as well as massive guitars, Matt finishing things off with the filthy low end bass action.

JOHNNY THE BOY is the end time and it just got heavier.

"I wrote these lyrics while quarantined during the first wave of Covid. It's a true reflection of how I was feeling at the time, and what we were all going through. All I was thinking about was how I wanted to do shows and get back in the studio. We couldn't even practice together because we were all getting sick and shit was changing life as we knew it. I was actually sick when I wrote the song. That day I decided to smoke a bowl and wrote some lyrics about how we are sick now and the feelings I had about that. Looking back now at that time, I didn't realize how relevant the song would end up being and the significance of the concept. We ended up liking the idea so much we decided to make it our next single with a music video." says Kyle Bolduc.

The single is a fresh take on the band's trademark sound with melodic guitars and dark tendencies. It showcases their ear candy intros, face melting guitar riffs, while still clinging to their heavy transitions and breakdowns.

Headliner Luke Bryan was joined by Jordan Davis, ACM New Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year winner Lainey Wilson, rising star Erin Kinsey, Spotify “Hot Country Artist to Watch” Ian Munsick, multi-Platinum singer and songwriter Chase Rice, dynamic trio Restless Road and ACM New Male Artist of the Year nominee Elvie Shane. The fundraising event leading into Monday’s 57th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Prime Video and on IMDb TV attracted artists, industry and fans competing for a cause. With generous donations and the support of artists, fans and sponsors Canteen Spirits, Aristocrat Gaming, Ashley HomeStore, Molson Coors and 1000 Stories Wine, monies raised for ACM Lifting Lives will continue its mission to make a difference through music.

“We truly have the best artists and industry in the world,” shared ACM Lifting Lives’ Executive Director Lyndsay Cruz. “In March of 2020, the live music industry shut down: tour buses stopped, the lights went out and people who work so hard to make live events happen lost their jobs overnight. Here we are, two years later and because of this industry, we were able to help the people who were affected the most – the people who take your tickets, the people who drive the buses, the people who hang the lights. In the last two years, we have distributed almost $4 million dollars thanks to artists donating their time and brands seeing the value in aligning for a cause. We are back and that’s worth celebrating.”

Topgolf Tee-Off & Rock On has become a fan-favorite awards-week event as it features a reimagined golf tournament experience that brings artists, industry members and fans together. At the tournament’s conclusion multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Scotty McCreery was named overall winner for the third consecutive year.

Just hours later at a casino across the boulevard, Breland, Jordan Davis, Hardy, Dustin Lynch, Scotty McCreery, Tenille Townes, Caitlyn Smith, Conner Smith and Lainey Wilson took the stage at House of Blues for Hangover Fest 2022, hosted by comedian Dusty Slay, where this year’s leading ACM nominee Chris Young made a personal donation to Lifting Lives after a surprise appearance.

During the 57th ACM Awards ceremony on Monday evening, ACM Lifting Lives and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were highlighted as two organizations creating meaningful impact in the country music community. Additionally, reigning and three-time Duo of the Year Brothers Osborne donated their hand-painted Gibson guitars immediately following their show-stopping performance of “Skeletons.” Fans can be a part of ACM history and support the mission of ACM Lifting Lives by bidding on the performance guitars now on Charity Buzz to benefit ACM Lifting Lives.

Today, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Daryl Hall, has announced the expansion of his first solo tour in a decade. The second leg of the tour will follow previously announced dates playing historic venues such as NYC’s Carnegie Hall and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, plus the April 1 release of BeforeAfter (Legacy Recordings), Hall’s first-ever solo retrospective. As with the tour’s first leg, Todd Rundgren will be a special guest on all newly announced dates. Compiled and sequenced by Hall, BeforeAfter features thirty tracks spanning all five of his solo albums, from 1980’s Robert Fripp-produced Sacred Songs through 2011’s Laughing Down Crying, co-produced with longtime Hall compatriot T-Bone Wolk, who sadly passed before the album was released. Additionally, the collection features six never-released performances from the pathbreaking web and television series Live From Daryl’s House, which Hall launched in 2007 with the then-novel idea of “playing with my friends and putting it up on the internet.” One of those performances includes the recently shared recording of the Eurythmics classic “Here Comes The Rain Again,” performed with that song’s co-writer Dave Stewart. Formed in 2007 in New York City, Black Metal troupe BLACK ANVIL released their debut album, Time Insults the Mind, on Monumentum/Reflections Records in September 2009, and later that year signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records. After a re-release of their acclaimed 2009 debut, BLACK ANVIL unleashed their first proper full-length Triumvirate in September 2010. Recorded with engineer ‘General’ George Fullan (The Rolling Stones, Dream Theater) at Mark ‘The Animal’ Mendoza’s (Twisted Sister) Diamond Drop Studio on Long Island, NY, Triumvirate received critical acclaim and was hailed as an "all-around monster metal album." Pitchfork even stated, “Black Anvil’s an amazing live band… and their songwriting’s as strong as their stage presence.”

Triumvirate was followed in 2014 by Hail Death, a 70-minute journey of intensity that further established BLACK ANVIL as a modern Black Metal powerhouse and was praised by publications including Noisey, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Metal Injection, and many more. Constantly bringing their live ritual to the masses, BLACK ANVIL has participated in numerous high profile tours with Black Metal legends such as MAYHEM, WATAIN, URFAUST, and MARDUK as well as dates with AURA NOIR, NACHTMYSTIUM, IMMORTAL, EYEHATEGOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, and many others. Additionally, the band has appeared at various festivals including the Scion Rock Fest, Beyond The Gates in Bergen, Norway and the renowned Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.

In 2017, BLACK ANVIL dropped their fourth studio-album, As Was, the staggering 50-minute follow-up to 2014's Hail Death. Starbenders Release New Single + Music Video "Seven White Horses" via Sumerian Records

Atlanta-based glam punk rockers Starbenders have today dropped a new single and music video, "Seven White Horses" (via Sumerian Records). Speaking on today's release, Kimi Shelter shares:

"The road has a way of putting you in the zone and realizations come to visit. The words of Seven White Horses rushed in during one of these road-inspired epiphanies. The song’s about rebirth, where you have to leave things behind, killing off your weaker self to rise."

This week also marks the one year anniversary of "Love Potions (Zodiac Deluxe)" which has five additional songs captured during the making of their full-length debut "Love Potions", including a Celtic-tinged, mandolin-laced interpretation of their single "BITCHES BE WITCHES" along with a trip-hop, nineties inspired remix of "Push". Åskväder Release Energetic New Single "Zealot"

New Album, 'Fenix', Out March 25th!

Sweden’s Åskväder have released the fourth and final single from their upcoming sophomore album 'Fenix'. The new song, titled "Zealot”, is a punchy and direct track with a driving drum beat and electrifying melodies. The single is a true outburst of garage rock energy, recorded live in the studio.

Martin Gut from the band comments on the single:

”Zealot was a really tough one to record, definitely the song that took the most amount of takes to get right. The inspiration for writing the track came from listening to a podcast about the band Enforcer. To put it short, this track is Åskväder’s take on speed metal. The lyrics describe how life can change quickly for the little man depending on circumstances that are bigger than ourselves, and how we have to follow the rules of the system fanatically.”

URFERD Releases New Single "Envig" - Debut Album 'Resan' Out April 15

Nordic ambient folk solo project URFERD has released the new single from their upcoming debut album. The new track, "Envig", is available now and accompanied by a lyric video. Speaking about the single, Urferd mastermind Daniel Beckman comments:

"The first half of the 'Resan' takes the listener across barren plains and through dark woods, but the end of the journey is now approaching. The only thing now standing in the way of resolution is battle. 'Envig' (meaning 'duel') depicts a deadly duel - a feud between two factions culminating in a fierce clash. Two combatants, two wills, and two swords locked in battle until only one stands victorious. Join the gathering of onlookers as the beating drums of war forebodes the coming bloodshed. Hear the cries and cheers as the bonfire smoke fills the night air."

'Resan' will see an April 15, 2022 release via Black Lodge Records.

The new track is the fifth and final single leading up to the band's ninth studio album 'Graces Came With Malice', which will see an April 22, 2022 release as part of Märvel's 20th anniversary. "Some people are born with a genuine talent and they could easily conquer the moon and the stars. But for some reason they allow their demons to take over and they ruin it all for themselves. Some kind of self-destructo-mode is put into high gear. This song is about trying to lend some courage to those people, some courage to make them reach out and ask for help. You gotta believe that there’s still hope even if things are looking pretty bad."

Märvel Bio:

Märvel was formed in 2002 when John Steen (The King), Ulrik Bostedt (Speedo), and Tony Samuelsson (The Vicar) spent a high school exchange year in Colorado, USA. Ditching classes, drinking beer, and playing rock n roll in the garage gave the world “Marvellous”, their first EP. The band got airtime on several college radio stations before they left the USA and returned to Sweden with lousy grades, but high spirits. Two other vinyl EP’s (“Heroine Tracks” & “Bedlam at the Embassy”) were released the following years through Swedish indie labels.

Between 2003 and 2011, the band started honing their skills and image by playing live and recording three albums. Constant touring and airplay during the period helped the band to build a very loyal fanbase in Europe.

With the release of their third full-length album “Warhawks of War”, Märvel went through some changes. The earlier superhero gimmick was abandoned in favor of new and more iconic personas, The King, The Vicar, and Speedo. A second live bass player, The Aviator, was also added to the lineup. The band fully stepped into the new characters by also adopting them live on stage. “Warhawks of War” was released in 2011 and marked a big step forward for the band in terms of sound and strong material. It also featured the guest stars Strings (Dundertåget, Hellacopters) and Dregen (Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Michael Monroe).

In 2012, Speedo (Ulrik Bostedt) was replaced by Burgher (Ulrik Bostedt). Filled with youthful raw energy, and with a unique style, Burgher helped catapult the band even further while touring Germany, France, and Spain to promote the Warhawks album.

After touring with Dregen in 2013, the band returned to the studio to record “Hadal Zone Express”. The album was released 28th of March 2014 to a never-ending stream of praise. In the fall, the band recorded a mini-album, with Fred Estby, “The Hills Have Eyes”. The title track along with a cover of W.A.S.P’s L.O.V.E. Machine made a big fuzz and got frequent air time.

In 2017, the band partnered with The Sign Records, and the first release was the seventh album “at the Sunshine Factory”, the first Märvel album to be recorded fully by themselves in their own newly established studio, Solskensfabriken. The second release was a cheeky cover album, “Guilty Pleasures”, featuring songs from a wide spectrum of artists such as Dire Straits, Agnetha Fältskog, REO Speedwagon, and Monster Magnet.

As always, the songs are in focus, and the release sees Märvel back at the height of their creativity, blending all their eclectic influences into a melodic piercing piece of high-energy rock n roll!

Looking slightly into the future, 2022 marks the 20th anniversary for the band, and apart from a new album, this accomplishment will be acknowledged throughout the year with exclusive releases, gigs, and other surprises.

Swedish Rock Pioneers THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Callous Rain"

The story of The Boppers started out as a fairytale about some teenagers from Stockholm who were in the right place at the wrong time.

Forming the band in 1977 when punk rock exploded around the world, their take on 50’s doo-wop and rock n roll couldn’t be more out of style, but they refused to fit in and turned it into a success. Their debut album, 'Number One', which contained mostly covers of their 50’s favorites from the likes of Roy Orbison, Dion & Belmonts, etc. sold over 450,000 copies in Sweden!! There was no doubt about it, The Boppers were the next big thing!

Since then, they’ve become an institution in Swedish rock n roll history, with their albums selling worldwide. Always true to their roots, they’ve kept on digging where they stand.

This year, The Boppers are celebrating 45 years as a band with a brand new album...and a new record company! For the new album, the band teams up with Wild Kingdom / Sound Pollution. They’ve collaborated closely with Sulo (singer and frontman of Diamond Dogs) and legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, etc).

“Callous Rain” is the first single from the band's upcoming album 'White Lightning'.

It’s a dark anthem about life’s inescapable terms and conditions that reminds of The Walker Brothers' heyday with its beautiful harmonies. A 60’s feel that’s underlined by Nicke Andersson of The Hellacopters bleeding guitar solo.

45 years down the road, The Boppers make a statement that more can be expected.

CONJURER – Announce New Album Páthos & Release Video For Brand New Single "It Dwells"

The future of British metal lies in safe hands with CONJURER, who today have announced their long-awaited new album Páthos, which will be released 1st July 2022 via Nuclear Blast.

A triumphant return from CONJURER following their world-renowned 2018 debut Mire, Páthos is a band flexing their creative muscles, deepening their approach and thought, and expanding their sound.

Bassist Conor Marshall comments: "Excited to finally be able to share the album with everyone! I’m sure this is the same for every band trying to release an album during the pandemic but it feels like we’ve been holding on to it for so long, so it’s nice for it to not be my problem any more and to be able to actually talk about it!"

Opener "It Dwells" is the perfect introduction – earth-shatteringly heavy, unconventional, uniquely beautiful, and instantly recognizable as CONJURER. The track is centered on the contradictions of the emotion of ‘fear’ – that fear can be comfortable and constant, haunting and crushing. It builds to a point of breaking – the need to end fear battling against your will to go on. The repeated screams ‘I’ll have peace’ are an ambivalent declaration of defiance – give in, or fight, either way fear is gone.

Of the single, guitarist/vocalist Dan Nightingale states: "I think 'It Dwells' is a good introduction to the sound of the record, from the musical influences to the lyrics and how we’ve drawn from what’s been going on in our lives, it’s one of our most personal outings for sure. It’s nice to have been able to step up our game with the music videos for this album as well. Good album. Top track. Boss man."

Páthos is not an album for the half-hearted or faint-hearted. Elements of Sumac, Gojira, old MASTODON and OATHBREAKER, the new record is a multi-layered beast – sludge, death, doom, black metal and hardcore influences clash and collide throughout, all masterfully finished by Will Putney’s exquisite mix and master.

The fifty-minute runtime of Páthos is not without its moments of the sublime, with post-metal nods to CONJURER and PIJN’s acclaimed Curse These Metal Hands project throughout. That a band can be at once so triumphantly beautiful and gut-punchingly heavy is testament to CONJURER’s quality, and a surefire sign of their future longevity at the top of Britain’s heavy music scene.
