Generation Kill Release Official Lyric Video for "Dogs Of War" (Ft.John Joseph of Cromags, Bloodclot)

"Dogs of War" can be downloaded/streamed at : https://bfan.link/mkultra

Thrash powerhouse Generation Kill released the official music video for single "Dogs of War"featuring John Joseph (Cromags, Bloodclot). The single is from their new album, MKUltra that is out now via Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records. The album guest features Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), Chris Poland (Megadeth, Ohm), John Joseph (Cromags, Bloodclot), as well as, Grammy Award-winning pianist Ronnie King who guests on the final track "La Fin Du Monde."

"'Dogs of War' was so much fun to write and create with the boys. I said I wanna song that John Joseph will sing on, so that's what Jay Velez and the boys delivered. Then I wrote the lyrics, recorded it and then called John to ask if he will sing on the song. I sent him the track and then 10 minutes later, he called to say that he loved it, so we got him in the studio and he killed it! John has such a distinct voice and style that it just killed on this track. It's such an honor to have one of the entire band's hero on our album" says Rob Dukes.

John Joseph adds, "Generation Kill's new record MKultra is fucking brutal on so many levels - hard riffs and lyrics that mean something. The pit is going to get extremely violent over this one."

Generation Kill is an American thrash metal band formed in New York City in 2008 by Rob Dukes (ex-Exodus). Dukes, on hiatus from touring with Exodus, wanted to funnel his excess creative energy and aggression into something new. After the inclusion of Jason Trenczer, Lou Lehmanand Sam Inzerra, the band began writing and recording their first album, Red, White, & Blood, featuring several hit singles including, “Feast for the Wolves” and “Hate” as well as a cover of Nine Inch Nails “Wish” which enjoyed heavy radio rotation.

Due to creative differences with Inzerra and the untimely death of guitarist Lou Lehman, Jay Velez and Jim DeMaria (Heathen) joined and began recording their sophomore album, We're All Gonna Die with renowned producer Zuess (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed). Shortly after its release, the band embarked on a European tour with fellow Exodus member Lee Altus’ band, Heathen. The album spawned several successful singles, including “Prophets of War” which went to number one on Sirius Liquid Metal’s “Dirty Dozen” and remained one of the top requested songs on the channel.

Following the success of their second album, drummer Rob Youells joined the band and they went into the studio, this time with Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal to record an album with founding member of Run-D.M.C, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels. The project was initially titled DMC Generation Killbefore becoming its own entity, later renamed Fragile Mortals.

Teaming up with Nick Bellmore (Hatebreed, Corpsegrinder), Generation Kill has finally released their long-awaited third full-length album, MKUltra. A powerful collection of songs, MKUltraincorporates everything an aficionado of the thrash metal genre has been longing to hear for the last decade: crunchy riffing, capturing melodies and killer solos mixed with brutal, thought-provoking lyrics. Their heaviest album to date, the album showcases the diverse musical backgrounds of each seasoned band member, a signature sound which has defined and allowed Generation Kill to remain a band without limitations.

You've read the album, now hear the book!

"GWAR in the Duoverse of Absurdity" chronicles the epic battle between GWAR and their doppelgangers from an alternate universe the band discovers behind their treasured Magic Mirror. The book uses an innovative storytelling technique that combines words and pictures printed on paper (made from real trees!) in a seamless format we are calling a "graphic novel.” The tale is illustrated by the masterful talents of Andy MacDonald (Wolverine, Dr Strange, Wonder Woman), Shane White (Things Undone, Braun, Endless Summer), Matt Maguire (GWAR) and Bob Gorman (GWAR). Z2 Comics (Judas Priest, Dio, Anthrax) have teamed up with GWAR to produce what will surely be known as the ultimate illustrated saga of the beloved Scumdogs of the Duoverse.

Paleface Drop Music Video For Brand New Track, "The Orphan"

Switzerland's finest purveyors of brutality, PALEFACE, have dropped the music video for their brand new track "The Orphan" today. The 6:30 opus is by far the band's most impressive and expansive single to date, combining new elements of shred Watch the video below. Find the track on streaming platforms HERE.

The latest slice of gloriously heavy Swiss beatdown is taken from the band's upcoming album, Fear & Dagger which will be released later this month on Friday, March 25th, 2022. Fans can pre-order physical copies of the album, available in 3 double-vinyl gatefold variants or CD digipak or pre-save the album digitally HERE.

Speaking on the new track and video, frontman Zelli shares

"The Orphan" is a song about the suffocating struggle people who suffer with depression go through. The feeling that life has no sense and simply isn’t worth living any longer. The idea that you get to such a hopeless and helpless point that you just give up and leave your life in the hands of death, like “Fuck it, I can’t do it anymore, so Death, do what you want with me”. You become The Orphan of The Deadman.

I wanted the video for "The Orphan" to really reflect the struggles of depression in a straight-in-your-face way. I didn’t want to pull any punches because that’s not the reality of struggling with mental health conditions like depression. The performances where I’m bound by chains and in the bathtub are visual representations of how depression can trap you and render you completely immobile and incapable of breaking free. It’s a metaphor for how hard it is to get out of depressive states. To other people it looks easy to just stand up and get out of the bathtub, but to the person suffering, it’s impossible and the will to fight is just not there, so the urge to surrender and let yourself drown becomes almost impossible to fight.

We, as a band, take mental health very seriously and want people who struggle to know that they are not alone. If you or someone you know is suffering please contact The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (USA) on 1-800-273-8255 or find your local free helpline here: https://findahelpline.com"

Since their last album, 'Chapter 3: The Last Selection', independent outfit, Paleface have gained international recognition throughout the Deathcore and Beatdown Community. Known for their huge, aggressive riffs, brutally bombastic rhythm section, frontman, Zelli's outstanding vocals and a pinch of humor. This is Switzerland’s finest heavy music.

Their new album, "Fear & Dagger", focuses on more mature and critical topics related to the fears and struggles young people have to content with in the 21st century, most importantly, the topic of mental health. The album is a 65 minute monster, containing 16 tracks with guest appearances from members of Justice For The Damned (AUS), Traitors (US) and Landmvrks(FR) and a PALEFACE fan, diagnosed with schizophrenia, who lent his voice and perspective to the album.

Speaking on the album, frontman Zelli shares

"This is what Paleface is all about. The entire 65mins. speaks for us: for our emotions, our style, our dedication and our PLFC-Family.

We wrote and recorded the entire record within six months not only for our fans and for us, but also for all the people out there who are struggling with dark times in their life and themselves. We want to give them a piece of solace. Music to connect with, something to gain strength, something to be happy about, something that helps you deal with the pain or just something to let all the anger out.

I am unbelievably proud of "Fear & Dagger". It is, by far, our angriest and most emotional record yet and I can’t wait to share it with the world."

"The Orphan" follows previous singles "Deathtouch" and "Dead Man's Diary" feat. LANDMVRKS frontman Florent Salfati. Between them, the two previously released singles have clocked up 1.6 million cross-platform streams and 261,000 YouTube views.

ABOUT PALEFACE

PALEFACE was formed in Zurich, Switzerland in 2017 by vocalist Marc Zellweger (Zelli) and drummer Colin Hammond (CJ) having met through a mutual friend in 2016. After bonding over a shared love of beatdowns and hardcore, Zelli and CJ shook hands at a concert in 2017 and promised they would create the craziest beatdown band ever together.

They recruited guitarist Yannick Lehmann to the band and released their debut ‘Chapter 1: From The Gallows’ in 2018. Later that year, they brought bassist Tommy-Lee Abt to PALEFACE family. They played their first show in October 2018 and quickly grew in popularity with the song “Deprivation Method”.

In early 2019, Paleface started writing ‘Chapter 2: Witch King’ which was released in May 2019. The band started to gain international attention with the release of tracks “Human Hunter” and “Skin People”. They released the single “No Mercy At All” at the end of 2019 and started working on the final installment of the dark story they’d created with Chapters 1 & 2.

Chapter 3: The Last Selection’ was released on October 30th 2020 to much acclaim. PALEFACE released two music videos for huge tracks “Curse Us”, “The Rats” and “Skalpell” which quickly ranked high in the deadown/hardcore charts and saw the band become cover stars on Spotify’s Heavy Beatdown playlist. The released the music video for "Lights Out" earlier this year. Their releases to date have seen them clock up nearly 10.2 million streams across all platforms and 165k monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

The neutrality Switzerland is known for globally does not apply to Paleface.

They came to destroy.

Lions At The Gate Drop New Track "Bed Of Nails"; Announce Debut Live Show

Los Angeles hard rock quintet LIONS AT THE GATE have dropped their latest single and music video, "Bed Of Nails". The track strikes a fine balance between otherworldly vocals, relentless rhythm, and massively heavy riffs. Speaking on today's release, Lions At The Gate frontman Cristian Machado commented:

"'Bed Of Nails' is a song that was brought in by Diego, a string of riffs that told a story. Kile pushed the dynamics of the song into extremes by surrounding Diego’s riffs with ghostly verses. Ahrue and Steve rounded off some of the parts and the bridge of the song. When I heard the demo, I fell in love with the heavy riff and the double bass, especially followed by those intimate and creepy verses. That caught my attention instantly. When we got the final mixes back from Kile, I realized how strong the song was.

The message of the song is not hidden in the lyric, it is blatantly about deep inner struggle to accept the things you can not change. I think, especially to embrace those things which blossom growth, even when they involve intense struggle. It’s a theme stitched well into the album. Laying out a maze, attempting to discover an exit path, trying to cut through the uncertainty of life and the chaos of the world. Really though, aren’t we all?"

Watch "Bed Of Nails" below below and find the track on streaming platforms HERE. Be sure to stay tuned for more Lions At The Gate news coming soon.

LIONS AT THE GATE will be making their live debut at the legendary Whisky a Go Go on April 28th. Their long-awaited premiere event will be supported by fellow metal acts Thrown Into Exile and Breaking In A Sequence. Tickets go on sale at 10AM PT on Friday, March 4th from https://eventlink.to/latgwhisky.

ABOUT LIONS AT THE GATE

A familiar signature sound, but with a fresh and rejuvenated take, former Ill Niño members Cristian Machado (vocals), guitarists Diego Verduzco and Ahrue Luster (ex-Machine Head) along with bassist Stephen Brewer (ex-Westfield Massacre) and drummer Fern Lemus (ex-Silence The Messenger) are LIONS AT THE GATE.

Moving on from their previous projects, these musical forces made the most of their creative freedom and newfound inspiration. Machado’s powerful vocals are better than ever as he soars with a steady balance and grace with his aggressive scowl as well as embracing his softer side. What is not lost in this band's musical palette are the dynamics of their trademark heaviness, supported by the foundation of big choruses to balance the crushing rhythm within the songs.

To speak to Sylvaine, the one-woman multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, and composer born Kathrine Shepard, is to speak to some spirit that exists beyond the veil of convention and stereotypes. This is not a woman playing to the vogue dark melodic folklorist trope that has become so prevalent in the metal scene but rather, this is a woman who is a serious and classically trained composer and arranger whose songs, that originate on unplugged electric guitars in lavender and black bedrooms, end up exploding against the unlimited conventions of what modern music can accomplish.

For some time, Kathrine Shepard has been seen as the petite pixie of the Norwegian black gaze scene but her small eleven features and lightheartedness belie the woman warrior behind Nova, her complex and personal fourth release. Following her 2018 Atoms Aligned Coming Undone release, Sylvaine (a play on the name of one of her beloved French poets, Paul Verlaine) gives us Nova, an album that is both a musical and personal reawakening of a singer/composer finding her way in this world.

The Lord of the Rings type choir arrangement heralds in the opening of her latest release as we the entranced listeners follow her to the realm of Lothlorien. The creation of this ambitious release began in 2019, before the world changed before all of our eyes. Experiencing a personal loss in a time the world was suffering a collective loss, Sylvaine composed on her guitar and wrote in her notebooks, eventually leading her into the small rooms of Drudenhaus in early 2021. Sequestered away in the countryside of France, the Norwegian native and her musical cohorts would all contract Covid. Asthmatic since birth, our heroine isolated herself in a small room to score out the different soprano and alto melodies of an actual choir to make her vision for the opening track “Nova,” come to life. Sung in an imagined language, the syllables of NO-VA continued to emerge, suggesting to the singer something linguistically symbolic and important.

“I’ve been wanting to write a choir piece since my 'Wistful' days,” she says, “Just a purely vocal piece. I love harmonies and the most personal instrument you have is yourself, your voice. I wanted to really show who I am this time around.”

Naked on the cover, which may raise some eyebrows, Sylvaine insists to her fans that this is a symbol of her own vulnerability and personal rebirth that transpired over these years of creating Nova. “Nova" in terms of language is connected to words such as nuova (Italian) or nueva (Spanish), meaning ‘new’ and speaks to a rebirth, to loss, the temporality of life, grieving as nothing lasting forever, but looking forward as new doors are forever opening.

Album tracks “Mono No Aware” and “Fortapt” are compositions in the 10-minute range, showing the progressive skills of the multi-instrumentalist’s musical mastery and magic. Taking the loud and quiet back-and-forth of the ‘90s a step farther, she manages to haunt every note with primal sincerity. “Fortapt” is a particularly unique track, paying homage to Sylvaine’s Norwegian roots. And while critics may want to pin a song like “Nowhere, Still Somewhere” in the shoegaze or dreampop category, her mysterious resonance adds something to the composition that makes Sylvaine’s work defy categorization.

Much like Joan of Arc, Sylvaine is not a one-woman army without her legionaries. Instead of enlisting members of the folk metal glitterati, she has been a bit more selective about her surprise guests on her album, choosing Scottish violinist Lambert Segura of SAOR and cellist Nostarion aka Patrik Urban, whom she met while performing a very special acoustic show in Belgium in 2019. For Sylvaine, it felt emotionally appropriate to weave classically trained instrumentalists into her work, demonstrated on the last track on the album, "Everything Must Come to an End."

Unlike so many of the pixie dream girls haunting the American metal landscape right now, Sylvaine sings but also screams from the very depths. There is absolutely no one in the metal game right now who can match her vocal range, which traverses from the elvish sounds of Enya and Lisa Gerard to the black metal Ericthro screeches of her kvlt counterparts of the land of ice and snow.

In the U.S., we have a tendency to clarify bedroom pop as music that is composed in the feminine space of one’s bedroom confines. Although orchestral and incredibly composed, Sylvaine does not shy away from admitting her songs always start bare bones—almost all of her compositions begin with an unplugged electric guitar. “A melody and a chord progression should be able to stand on its own without any effects whatsoever. The song will go on to manifest itself in different ways but that main guitar part has to be solid enough to emotionally work just by itself, “ she says.

But to this lover of Verlaine and the French Romantic poets (as well as a diehard Type O Negative fan), the written word is still paramount to her heart. After all, she explains, “Music is an attempt to avoid the words we can’t always express in life.”

Minneapolis Joins Previously Announced Milwaukee Stadium Show Set for May 28

After first breaking the news to his Church Choir faithful last night, CMA Entertainer of the Year/superstar Eric Church now officially announces his second headlining stadium show this summer, with “One Hell of a Night in Minneapolis” set for Saturday, June 11 at U.S. Bank Stadium. The supersized show will see the 10-time GRAMMY nominee joined by fellow songwriting craftsmen Morgan Wallen and ERNEST.

Today’s announcement adds to an already remarkable year for the man celebrated by Stereogum as “one of the biggest touring musicians on earth,” as rock-infused anthem “Heart On Fire” climbs the Top 10 at country radio and The Gather Again Tour holds the top spot on Pollstar’s Live75 chart for back-to-back weeks, with Variety proclaiming: “For a guy whose concerts time out at three hours a night, the pandemic’s break was but a way to rest up and blast off, ferociously.”

The update follows Church’s recent news that he will also headline a Milwaukee stadium show over Memorial Day weekend, with Brothers Osborne and Parker McCollum joining him at American Family Field on Saturday, May 28.

“Church is never predictable — aside from the fact that he consistently stages one of the most explosive (and longest) sets in country music,” the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel remarked upon that show’s announcement. “For the second stadium-headlining show of his life, expect Church to give his fans his all.”

Tickets to the U.S. Bank Stadium show go on sale to the general public Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. CT via EricChurch.com. Members of the Church Choir will have early access to tickets beginning Friday, March 4. Tickets to the American Family Field show and remaining dates of The Gather Again Tour are on sale now.

Church Choir members will also have the exclusive opportunity to gather together for a pre-show tailgate at U.S. Bank Stadium by adding the “Church Choir Pre-Show Tailgate” during the Church Choir pre-sale to access to the pre-show tailgate with food trucks, two drink tickets, a special gift, tailgate games, giveaways and more. Also at the stadium and open to the general public will be a pop-up store with These Boots by Lucchese (Church’s exclusive signature boot line).

About Eric Church
Eric Church spent the past year releasing new music at a relentless pace; sharing the results of a marathon session during which he spent nearly a month writing and recording a song per day while sequestered in rural North Carolina – including his latest Gold-certified No. 1 “Hell of a View” and current Top 10-and-climbing single “Heart On Fire.” The resulting critically acclaimed and chart-topping three-part project, Heart & Soul, is available everywhere now.

Just as unique as Church’s approach to recording and releasing music is his tenacity on the road. During 2019’s Double Down Tour, Church played back-to-back nights of two unique shows in each market sans opening act, giving every city’s fans six-plus hours of his iconic music. The tour also featured a massive stop at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, where he broke the venue’s concert attendance record with more than 56,000 fans in attendance and became the first artist to sell out the venue with a solo lineup. Church also took to the field at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium in 2021 to perform the National Anthem with R&B star Jazmine Sullivan ahead of Super Bowl LV and has now returned to the road for his 55-city The Gather Again Tour, visiting full-capacity arenas for an in-the-round show in addition to a recent headlining spot alongside George Strait and Metallica during the ATLive festival at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He will also headline a one-of-a-kind stadium show at Milwaukee’s American Family Field in May.

A seven-time ACM Award winner, four-time CMA Award winner (including the 2020 award for Entertainer of the Year) and 10-time GRAMMY nominee, Church has amassed a passionate fanbase around the globe known as the Church Choir as well as a critically acclaimed catalog of music. His previous project, the Gold-certified Desperate Man, earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album (his third nod in the category). Prior releases include the Platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”), the Double-Platinum certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”) and the 3x Platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 30 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certified singles.

About Morgan Wallen
The New Yorker dubbed Morgan Wallen “the most wanted man in country” in part due to the CMA Award Winner’s 8 billion on-demand streams, multi-Platinum certifications and four consecutive chart-toppers, and in part due to his flyover appeal: “Bruce Springsteen meets Larry the Cable Guy.” The critically-acclaimed follow-up to his Double Platinum breakout If I Know Me, Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic Records), topped 2021’s all-genre Billboard 200 year-end albums chart with 3.2 million units sold and sparked an in-demand 54-date The Dangerous Tour underway now, with the “Up Down” (2017), “Whiskey Glasses” (2018), “Chasin’ You” (2019), “More Than My Hometown” (2020), “7 Summers” (2020, named one of Time Magazine’s Best Songs of the Year) and “Sand In My Boots” (recently No. 1 at Country radio) singer playing two nights at Madison Square Garden and three nights at Bridgestone Arena. Working outside the traditional Nashville mainframe with producer Joey Moi, Hits Magazine notes, “Wallen continually colors outside the lines,” adding, in turn “he’s connected to his fans in ways unprecedented for a country star.” With over 705,000 tickets sold ahead of the tour’s launch, $3 from every ticket sold benefits the songwriter from East Tennessee’s More Than My Hometown Foundation. About ERNEST
Nashville’s most unpredictable hit maker ERNEST is “The Charmer” (MusicRow), a triple threat talent and one of Music City’s on the rise artist/writers that’s changing the status quo. As a chart-topping songwriter, he fuses influences ranging from Eminem to George Jones, creating a twist-heavy verse style that’s become his signature, proving its mettle and earning him five No. 1 hits to date. The eccentric free spirit launched his debut single to country radio “Flower Shops” feat. Morgan Wallen in January to 88 first week stations, the No. 1 most added single of the week, and is Top 30 after just five weeks. His debut full-length album of the same name - FLOWER SHOPS (THE ALBUM) – will release on March 11, showing off the more classically country side of his craft. ERNEST appeared alongside ’90s country legend David Lee Murphy and labelmate Ben Burgess on HIXTAPE: Vol. 2 track “Red Dirt Clouds” last fall, and his podcast Just Being ERNEST is in its third season, hosting guests like Keith Urban, Diplo, Jason Aldean, Bobby Bones and Craig Wiseman, with many more to come.

Guitar Virtuoso Hedras Releases New Single + Music Video "Angels"

Genre-fusing guitar virtuoso Hedras has today released a new single and music video "Angels" (out via Blood Blast Distribution). The song is the title track from his newly announced forthcoming album 'Angels', out on Friday, May 13. With intricate fretwork laid over urban beats, Hedras showcases his unique style on his Cort Mutility guitar as seen in today's music video (available later this year). Speaking on the release, mastermind Hedras Ramos shares:

"I'm a big fan of urban Latin music, Trap, and EDM. I always imagined combining those styles with prog Metal, so I had to dive deeply into electronic production and learn how to cohesively put all those elements in synergy with my own guitar ideas and create songs that have a meaning and a vibe. "Angels" is the result of that and part of a full album in that vein."

Watch the music video for "Angels" below, and pre-save the album here. Be sure to stay tuned for more Hedras news coming soon.

Established in Dallas, TX, multi-instrumentalist Hedras Ramos began his musical career at age 6 by learning to play the drums. It wasn't until 2005 however (at age 13) when Hedras became interested in learning guitar. He typically practiced 7 or more hours every day, even playing up to 12 hours a day during vacations from school. Being entirely self-taught, Hedras pushed himself hard to master the guitar and in 2011 he had composed and produced his first instrumental album 'Atoms and Space'. with guests such as Andy James and Jennifer Batten. Following this was his instrumental album 'The Impressionist' which became available for purchase in September 2017, which had special guests such as Plini (guitarist), Martin Miller (guitarist), and Anup Sastry (drummer). In 2020 Hedras released his latest instrumental album titled 'Pagans', a djent and progressive metal work that was supported by Abasi Guitars in a collaboration where Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders, who personally gifted Hedras an 8-string Larada guitar and featured renowned musicians of the prog world recorded such as Japanese virtuoso bass player Ayumu and prog drummer Anup Sastry.

ABBATH is promoting his upcoming new full-length, 'Dread Reaver,' which is due on March 25 via Season of Mist! ICYMI: The band dropped a brand new single yesterday, "The Book of Breath," which can be heard at THIS LOCATION. The single is now available on all streaming platforms as well.

ABBATH has recently announced a co-headlining European tour this September along with WATAIN, in which the bands will be supported by TRIBULATION and BÖLZER. The full run of dates can be found below!

Pre-orders for 'Dread Reaver' are available in the Season of Mist shop HERE. Pre-save the album on streaming services HERE.

The ravens gaze ominously from above. The seas roar in anticipation. The mountains creak yet again. Abbath’s remarkable new album, Dread Reaver, is upon us all. Two years in the making, Abbath’s third full-length is the culmination of everything before it. A fusion of debut Abbath (2016) and follow-up Outstrider (2019), the aptly titled Dread Reaver extends its fantastical fangs outward and drives its cloven hooves onward. Indeed, there’s nothing like an Abbath record. This is the darkest metal for epic journeys and ancient battles. Comprised of eight riveting tracks and a red-hot cover of Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice,” Dread Reaver shows Abbath triumphing over all trials and tribulations, riding hard into merciless glory as the one and only “Lemmy of black metal.”

Abbath was formed by Olve Eikemo (aka Abbath) in Bergen, Norway, in 2015. After splitting with vaunted extreme metallers Immortal, the beguiling frontman and storied songwriter only had one path: Abbath. Years before, he had proven that venturing out of the Immortal constellation was not only plausible but doable with the I project, a short-lived, one-album (Between Two Worlds) band featuring notable musicians from Immortal, Enslaved, and Gorgoroth. Indeed, once Eikemo was free of Immortal’s shackles, he was able to assemble a cadre of like-minded conspirators for his solo debut album, Abbath. So crucial was Abbath that the Norwegian Embassy in the UK ran a music/culture piece, while in Norway, the album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy). Metal Hammer Germany even gonged Abbath with its Best Debut award. Follow-up album, Outstrider, was equally lauded. Billboard’s coverage sent shockwaves through the rock/metal scenes, while Kerrang! labeled it “dominating and creative,” awarding it 4Ks. Decibelalso heaped praise on Outstrider, giving it the Best New Noise trophy. New album Dread Reaver will yet again lionize Abbath as leader of the frost-bitten pack.

Powered by Abbath’s creative musical imagination, Dread Reaver runs riotously out of the gate. The album’s edifice affords tracks like “Acid Haze,” “Scarred Core,” “The Deep Unbound,” and the album’s closing title track ample room to champion the extremes of black metal, heavy metal, and hard rock. While there are nods to NWOBHM greats, thrash metal’s luminaries, and black metal icons, Dread Reaver is unmistakably Abbath. There is no other fingerprint. Paired with thought-provoking lyrics based on the historical figure of Othryades, Abbath’s new album not only shouts exultant but reads like an ancient pyrrhic tale steeped in violence, sorrow, and grit. The idea of a Dread Reaver—a fearless duelist—can also be read as a metaphor for life’s actions and subsequent struggles. Be warned: Dread Reaver is Abbath at his most menacing and accomplished.

Dread Reaver was produced by Endre Kirkesola, Abbath, and Dag Erik Nygaard at Dub Studio in Kristiansand and Bergen Lydstudio, respectively. Kirkesola and Nygaard also engineered. Mixing was performed by Abbath and Kirkesola, while the mastering was done by maestro Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Rob Halford) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in Los Angeles. The goal was to field a storming production that sat firmly at the crossroads of Abbath’s heroes Kiss, Motörhead, Manowar, and Bathory. From the anthemic thrust of opener “Acid Haze” and the epic pound of “Dream Cull” to the rampaging “The Book of Breath” and the wicked cover of Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice,” Dread Reaversounds as massive as Norwegian mountain and as fiery as the depths of Hell. Truly, the recording lineup of Abbath (guitar, bass, vocals), Ukri Suvilehto (drums), Ole André Farstad (guitars), and Mia Wallace (bass) found their sonic muse.

Abbath and Season of Mist will release Dread Reaver on February 25th, 2022. The album features a Bjørn Stian Bjoarvik (Immortal) cover and will be supported by singles “Dream Cull”, “Dread Reaver” and “The Book of Breath.” Of course, it’ll all be powered by Abbath’s wry, larger-than-life persona. If “Ace of Spades” catapulted Motörhead to fame and notoriety, then Dread Reaver will find Abbath atop extreme metal’s gigantic heap, the spoils of icy blood, scorching sweat, and steely tears at his feet. As “Myrmidon” states, “Die with a smile, stare glassy-eyed up / At boiling skies! / Valkyries descend to gore-caked fen / Fallen warriors arise!” Lightning strikes thrice with Abbath’s incredible Dread Reaver!

Recording line-up:
Abbath - Guitar, bass & vocals
Ukri Suvilehto - Drums
Ole André Farstad - Lead & acoustic guitars
Mia Wallace - Bass on Acid Haze, Scarred Core, The Deep Unbound & Dread Reaver

Every coffin contains a never-ending story.

The third chapter of Left to Suffer’s story comes to a close with their newest curse upon the world, “Overwhelming Power”. Along with the accompanying visual from Squareup Studios, the newest piece of the puzzle exudes more might than the five-piece has ever flexed. While pondering oblivion, the group has found a groove that has strengthened every stride they’ve made until now. Another piece of armor on LTS’s suit of darkness, “Overwhelming Power” keeps everyone in a frazzled state of self-loathing.

Over the last year, the Atlanta sensation continued to complexify their intersection of metalcore, hardcore, and nü-metal, and have emerged with a new grinding mentality having already toured the country for the first time doing it again twice in 2022. As a new pillar of the scene, Left to Suffer are ready to amass an army not even seen in Satan’s nightmares.

Don’t open the coffin, what escapes might overtake.

SKILLS: "an ability to do an activity or job well, especially because you have practiced it"

In the perfect extension of the meaning of the word, SKILLS is an amazing new band put together from the vision of Frontiers President and A&R director Serafino Perugino. Cocky name for a band? Sure, but when said band features the eye-popping line-up of vocalist Renan Zonta, guitarist Brad Gillis, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer David Huff, then a little bravado is probably in order. Skills brings together the worlds of old and new in hard rock for a stunning debut album.

As is everyone who has heard him sing, Perugino was blown away by the abilities of Brazilian singer Renan Zonta upon first hearing him. Knowing how much Renan loves classic '80s hard rock, Perugino thought it would be cool to pair him with some monster players from that era. After sharing clips and music of Renan with some of the most outstanding musicians from the era, all of whom agreed that Renan’s talent is undeniable, a new musical beast was born with Brad Gillis, Billy Sheehan, and David Huff joining the fold.

In Skills, you have a singer whose vocal range is stunning and can mix the extension and the power of the likes of Glenn Hughes and Sammy Hagar with the expression of Steven Tyler and some David Coverdale thrown in. Along with one of the world's most renowned, prolific bass players, a hugely respected, talented, and stunning guitar player, and an absolutely killer drummer, Skills is a force to be reckoned with. “Different Worlds” is an album which will appeal to the discerning ears of fans of classic ‘80s hard rock/melodic rock.

So go ahead and crank up the volume and enjoy the 'skills' on display from these talented musicians from different eras of killer rock ‘n roll on "Different Worlds"!

Originally released in 1998, Union’s self titled debut featured the pairing of guitarist Bruce Kulick who had spent the last 12 years as the lead guitarist in Kiss during their non-make up era, and was featured on several multi-platinum albums, including the bands powerhouse REVENGE, and singer/guitarist John Corabi who had fronted the Scream, and more recently Motley Crue, on their now cult following self titled 1994 release. They teamed up with drummer Brent Fitz (Slash Feat. This was followed up by their second studio effort ‘The Blue Room’ in 2000.

ABBATH Unleashes New Song, "The Book of Breath"

Norwegian metal legend ABBATH will drop its third full-length album, 'Dread Reaver,' on March 25 via Season of Mist! The band is now unleashing a brand new single, "The Book of Breath," which can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

Drudkh Shares Music Video for New Song, "The Nocturnal One"🇺🇦

Ukrainian black metal stalwarts DRUDKH have released the official music video for the new song, "The Nocturnal One." The song and video were originally not slated for release until later this year, along with a new record from the band. However, due to the increasingly dangerous situation in their homeland, being situated in the epicenter of the invasion, the band has requested that the video be released immediately as sign of Ukrainian resistance. The new track is streaming at THIS LOCATION.

DRUDKH has always shown unwavering pride for their country through their music. This poignant statement is a testament to their fighting spirit and love for their homeland. The new record and its details will be revealed in time. Due to vinyl plant delays, the album release is delayed until late 2022.

Season of Mist has been in contact with Drudkh. The band stated the following:

"Even though we weren't supposed to share any statement or music until later this year, we are grateful to get this new track out here today. It represents HOPE, may it strengthen those who need it."

Our hearts go out to DRUDKH and all our Ukrainian artists.

DRUDKH are without a doubt influential and unique in the black metal scene. True to the values of this extreme genre, the enigmatic Ukrainians refuse to follow the rulebook and provide no answers, no statements, no shows. The sound of DRUDKH is equally based on a solid foundation consisting of the by now traditional Nordic variant of this style as on the band's highly distinct individual "Slavonic" interpretation of it.

Released in June 2016 the split with Norwegian black metal forces HADES ALMIGHTY (SUA069), ‘One Who Talks With The Fog / Pyre Era, Black!’ contains some of the finest songs of the band, namely “Golden Horse and “Fiery Serpent”. Founder Roman Sayenko takes lyrical inspiration from the poetry of Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Svidzins'kyi (1885-1941), who was murdered by the Soviets after years of censorship and repression.

Following a cooperation with acclaimed Swedish underground one-man project GRIFT, DRUDKH release ‘Betrayed By The Sun / Hägringar’ in September 2016. The lyrics for "His Twenty-Fourth Spring" were penned by Bohdan-Ihor Antonych (1909–1937), who died at the early age of 28 years from an infection of the appendix. The family of Mike Johansen (1895–1937) was of German and Lithuanian decent and arrived in DRUDKH's hometown Karkhiv at the end of the 19th century. His words were used in the song "Autumn in Sepia". Johansen also suffered a premature death; as he was brutally murdered by the Soviets in a Kiev prison under a fabricated accusation of conspiracy.

The two tracks "His Twenty-Fourth Spring" and "Autumn in Sepia" come in classic DRUDKH style, which mainly consists out of an atmospheric amalgamation of bleak rawness with epic melodies, but always has a richness of small details derived from any suitable musical genre.

The final split EP ‘Somewhere Sadness Wanders / Schnee (IV)’ with Swiss atmospheric black metal project PAYSAGE D'HIVER appeared in August 2017. "All Shades Of Silence" derives from the writings of Yevhen Pluzhnyk (1898-1936), who died in a Stalinist gulag. His contemporary Maik Yohansen (1895-1937), who penned the words in "The Night Walks Towards Her Throne" shared a similar fate by being murdered with the guns of a Soviet firing squad.
