BLACK ANVIL Announces North American Live Dates for March 2022

New York City black metal collective BLACK ANVIL have announced several live U.S. and Canadian performances in support of IMMOLATION! The run will kick off on March 15 in Detroit and will conclude with the band's homecoming in New York City on March 19. Formed in 2007 in New York City, Black Metal troupe BLACK ANVIL released their debut album, Time Insults the Mind, on Monumentum/Reflections Records in September 2009, and later that year signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records. After a re-release of their acclaimed 2009 debut, BLACK ANVIL unleashed their first proper full-length Triumvirate in September 2010. Recorded with engineer ‘General’ George Fullan (The Rolling Stones, Dream Theater) at Mark ‘The Animal’ Mendoza’s (Twisted Sister) Diamond Drop Studio on Long Island, NY, Triumvirate received critical acclaim and was hailed as an "all-around monster metal album." Pitchfork even stated, “Black Anvil’s an amazing live band… and their songwriting’s as strong as their stage presence.”

Triumvirate was followed in 2014 by Hail Death, a 70-minute journey of intensity that further established BLACK ANVIL as a modern Black Metal powerhouse and was praised by publications including Noisey, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Metal Injection, and many more. Constantly bringing their live ritual to the masses, BLACK ANVIL has participated in numerous high profile tours with Black Metal legends such as MAYHEM, WATAIN, URFAUST, and MARDUK as well as dates with AURA NOIR, NACHTMYSTIUM, IMMORTAL, EYEHATEGOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, and many others. Additionally, the band has appeared at various festivals including the Scion Rock Fest, Beyond The Gates in Bergen, Norway and the renowned Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.

In 2017, BLACK ANVIL dropped their fourth studio-album, As Was, the staggering 50-minute follow-up to 2014's Hail Death. Atmospheric and melodic without relenting on any of the ferocity BLACK ANVIL have always been known for, As Was seamlessly weaves through eight monumental passages of extreme metal art. More diverse, complex, and thought-provoking than anything they've done before, As Was is a stellar representation of modern Black Metal, and of BLACK ANVIL's continuous progression and songcraft. WHITE VOID RELEASE NEW MODEL ARMY COVER "THE HUNT" (FEAT. GREG MACKINTOSH / PARADISE LOST)

Today, eclectic Norwegian hard rock band WHITE VOID, centered around Lars Nedland (Borknagar, Solefald), is releasing a cover of the song "The Hunt" by British indie rock and post punk heroes NEW MODEL ARMY from their 1986 album "The Ghost Of Cain". The track features a guest lead guitar appearance by none other than PARADISE LOST's Greg Mackintosh.

"The last two years have been strange for musicians. Lockdowns and isolation isn’t the best way to go about as a band, so White Void tried to counter this by staying busy and recording new music. First up: a cover song of one of our favourite artists, New Model Army.

This song was recorded during lock-down, so we were never in the studio at the same time, and that got us thinking: What if we created a video mirroring the situation this recording arose from?

We all set up cameras in our respective home studios, hit record, and performed the song together - while still being apart. We even had guest guitarist Greg Mackintosh of Paradise Lost set up a camera in his studio and record as he played the song’s solo.

So, this video is a testament to how corona affects musicians and to how new situations spark creativity and new expressions.

And with that, we invite you into our homes and “The Hunt”. We hope you enjoy it"

“When I was approached about contributing to a NMA cover I was kind of amused because I’ve had a rehearsal room next door to them for the last 20 years.

Then I heard it was 'The Hunt' which is up there as one of my favourite songs by them. Then Lars sent me their version of the song which I thought was great and I figured I may be able to add some sprinkles on top.

The result is a really vibrant and passionate take on a great song by a unique band.

Arista Records/Monument Records, the official music partner of FOX Entertainment’s highly anticipated new series, MONARCH – a new country music drama about America’s first family of country music – has released the series’ first song, “A Country Boy Can Survive,” available everywhere now. The song is performed by multi-Platinum singer and series star Trace Adkins. MONARCH premieres Sunday, January 30 immediately following the NFC Championship on FOX. The series continues with its time period premiere on Tuesday, February 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Country music icon Adkins delivers a special cover of “A Country Boy Can Survive,” originally released nearly 40 years ago by Hank Williams Jr. Listen to the song HERE.

Produced by three-time GRAMMY Award nominee and series executive music producer Adam Anders and co-producer Peer Åström, “A Country Boy Can Survive” is a song that Adkins has sung his entire career. It also speaks to his series character, Albie Roman, the patriarch of country music’s first family.

“Trace’s voice is one in a million and sets the tone for everything else we do musically on the series,” says Anders. “He grounds the show so much, and I love every time an ‘Albie’ song is on the slate.”

“I’ve lost count how many times I’ve listened to Hank Jr.’s ‘A Country Boy Can Survive,’” says Adkins. “Having the opportunity to record such an iconic song has been both exhilarating and daunting. I wanted to honor the original version while putting my own ‘spin’ on it. I’m excited for this to be the first release from MONARCH and for fans to hear all of the music we have coming out.”

KORE ROZZIK Releases New Single "Vengeance Is Not Enough" via The Label Group

KORE ROZZIK released their new single "Vengeance Is Not Enough" via The Label Group today. The single is a nod to the band's debut record Vengeance Overdrive.

"We jokingly said Vengeance was not enough so it's the faux sequel of sorts" says the band. "It's the bridge between the first record and what's coming next."

It's a story of power, revenge and money. The band decided to go a different route this time playing action movie characters instead of a standard band performance video. Kore did all of his stunts alongside long time friend Karlo Vice who now wrestles in the north east independent wrestling scene (Create A Pro Wrestling).

Kore adds, "I have always been a wrestling fan and have had the pleasure of having friends in the indies and WWE, so it was great to do something fun and physical on camera this time. Our last videos were horror based and this was more action movie based. James Bond meets WWE."

The video was directed and co-conspirated by the highly acclaimed Tom Flynn who has done multiple videos with the likes of Lamb of God , Moon Tooth and Body Count just to name a few.

The single was produced by Kore's long time recording team Anthony Lopardo (Westfall Studios) and features Ray Marte (Moontooth) on drums and mixing duties.

Kore Rozzik has risen from the underground to give the rock community the breath of fresh air it desperately needs. Fans have described the live show 
as “Organized Chaos” and “a true high energy rock and roll experience.”

Their live sets on tour have earned them the reputation as: A can’t miss live act. Variety is key to the Kore Rozzik sound which contains classic metal vibes with a modern day twist, think of Alice Cooper and Motionless in White in a blender.

After years of organizing their own events and supporting national acts in New York City.-The band finally broke out and began playing festivals and DIY tours with the likes of Bunny The Bear and others in 2017.

After the release of their first official music video “Mistress,” the band began to gain more fans and simultaneously naysayers. Many considered the Video controversial due to its horror and suggested violent undertones. Nevertheless the band was signed to Cleopatra Records and released its debut record 
Vengeance Overdrive.

A bold move for a new act, Vengeance Overdrive was a detailed 
concept record featuring connected songs and skits based around the character of Kore Rozzik aka The Bastard Child Of NYC. The record hit a nerve with many classic metal fans as it told the story of a misunderstood musician who just wanted to be a rock star. With themes of slander, bullying, horror and the occult, it has become a cult classic among many fans.

As the record hit the metal charts the band embarked on their first 
mainstream national tour supporting the also controversial figurehead OTEP. The band was well received and continued touring thereafter as much as they could to support the record.

In 2019 the band landed a tour as direct support for globally renowned guitarist Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper). The band had truly arrived as fans and tour mates respectively gave Kore and the band their seal of approval. The tour got rave reviews night after and night and further expanded Rozzik’s new fanbase penned the “Kore Locos.”

With the aftermath of the Covid pandemic the band is back in the 
studio putting the finishing touches on new music. Kore will release more singles in 2022 with a collage of headlining and supporting runs.

Swiss Industrial Black Metal Pioneers SAMAEL Release Official Music Video for The Beatles Cover “Helter Skelter”

Switzerland’s industrial black metal force SAMAEL are back with a brand new music video for their cover version of The Beatles “Helter Skelter”. On the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the release of "Helter Skelter", SAMAEL celebrates the legacy of the band and the birth of heavy metal. The song originally appeared on their latest album, Hegemony.

On “Helter Skelter” the Industrial formation travels way back to the end of the 60s, examining the dark sides of technology and spirituality, including numerous references to the song’s original time frame. Diamante spent her teenage years cutting her teeth at local gigs on the Sunset Strip to become the powerhouse performer she is today. Vampires Everywhere were conceptualized in early 2010 by Michael Orlando later known as Michael Vampire. The band started its journey in Hollywood, CA-based on the idea of bringing a fresh feel to an already saturated metalcore market. Michael has been obsessed with the 1987 cult classic film "The Lost Boys" since age 13 and wanted to start a band around his love for the movie and his passion for rock music. The band quickly gained notoriety in 2010 with their debut music video for "Immortal Love" which hit half a million views and landed on the iconic MTV Headbangers Ball. A few months later VE was signed to Century Media Records and toured with Black Veil Brides on the Hot Topic Tour around the United States. The band also landed an opening spot for X Japan's first North American run playing for over 5,000 people a night and to this day is the only band to open for X Japan in the US. After an amazing run on the 2012 Warped Tour, the band was asked by Kevin Lyman to headline Rob Zombie's Great Adventure in Pomona, CA. Vampires Everywhere have since toured with the likes of Motionless In White, AIDEN, Alesana, Orgy, Filter, Falling In Reverse, and countless others. VOYAGER to Compete in Eurovision - Australia Decides

Perth's premier electro power prog sensation VOYAGER have the distinct honor of taking part in the prestigious song contest, Eurovision - Australia Decides! A very special announcement from the band can be found below.

For several years, VOYAGER has been petitioning to be selected as one of Australia's musical representatives in Eurovision - Australia Decides. After being shortlisted in the previous year's competition, the band has finally been tapped to represent Western Australia, making it the first time that the region has hope of winning the Eurovision title! The band will soon reveal the song that has been selected in the contest!

VOYAGER vocalist and keytarist Danny Estrin comments, "Eurovision is the greatest show on earth, so getting a chance to represent Western Australia and to showcase our keytar driven brand of heavy music is one of the most exciting and surreal opportunities to ever come our way!! So thank you Australia for giving us the opportunity to take you on a Voyage with us in what has been a lifelong dream."

Since their 1999 formation, whatever genre norms, boundaries and regulations thrust upon Perth, Australia’s Voyager have been smashed. They embrace, if not brandish pop; employ a keytar on stage, and, bring forward a positive, if not uplifting feeling to their music, running head-first into the endless parade of heavy bands who see the world in a different light. It’s perhaps why the title of their seventh full-length and first for Season of Mist, Colours in the Sun, is apropos: Voyager simply prefers to see the bright side of things.

“Observations of the malaises of the modern world and the baffling obsession with purity and difference all make me think,” says frontman and founding member Danny Estrin. “We’ve never had it better and we’ve never had it more colorful. To me that’s progress, it’s adaptation, it’s evolution and it’s astounding.”

The follow-up to 2017’s Ghost Mile, Colours in the Sun finds Voyager enmeshed in rich, melodic, song-first tapestries, led by Estrin’s smooth, capable clean vocal delivery. Estrin is self-aware of his vocals, calling them “unique and ‘80s.” But whatever tag Estrin affixes to his voice, they are the propellent throughout Colours in the Sun, serving up a steady diet of soaring, emotive choruses, where melody is paramount and along the way, even getting some help from another distinctive belter, Leprous’s Einar Solberg on “Entropy.”

“Einar and I became good friends on our tours through Europe and Australia,” notes Estrin. “I couldn’t help but ask him to guest on the album. He is a fantastic musician and vocalist. I sent him a reference track which he swiftly ignored and laid his own tracks down. The result is stunning!”

The kaleidoscope of sounds that comprise the album’s ten cuts is the result of Voyager’s far-reaching influences, many of which go beyond the traditional realms of metal and rock. Estrin calls it “catchy at the top, proggy at the bottom, as if Dream Theater and Depeche Mode had a baby.” It’s almost as if the term “progressive” is too limiting for Voyager, particularly when the guitar tandem of Simone Dow and Scott Kay merge for complex rhythms while doing battle against Estrin’s vaudeville-like keyboards (!) on “Reconnected.”

The “proggy at the bottom” notice is served by way of the rhythm section of bassist Alex Canion and drummer Ashley Doodkorte, who stretch their musical tentacles across busy, active cuts such as “Saccharine Dream” and the syncopated “Water Over the Bridge.” “I think we found our ‘voice’ on V (2014) and have been building on that ever since,” says Estrin. “The synthwave prog sound is really something that has naturally developed and has been refined even more on the new album. Every record is progress — that’s what progressive music is all about!”

According to Estrin, the Colours in the Sun album title encompasses a “vibrant multitude of people coming together under the hot Australian sun to create a beautiful and colorful soundscape.” It’s capped off by artwork courtesy of Doodkorte, who made the piece out of photographs near his house in Perth. A closer inspection reveals there are seven suns on the cover, one for each Voyager album, topped off by an updated version of the band’s logo comprised of five strokes, one for each member. No doubt a fitting visual summation of a band whose progress can be the described in the most literal and figurative of terms.

“It’s been a slow steady growth over the years,” concludes Estrin. “Other bands come and go after a year of fame. I really feel like we’ve built up an incredible fanbase, especially over the last decade, and the deal with Season of Mist seemed the logical step to take it to the next level together.”

About DANCE WITH THE DEAD

DANCE WITH THE DEAD is an electronic-based music duo by Justin Pointer and Tony Kim. Inspired by retrospective movies and music from the ’60s, ’70s, and '80s, their sound reflects heavily on analog synthesizer sounds and early heavy metal guitars. They released their debut record “Out of Body” on October 31st, 2013 to great reviews in the synth, metal, and EDM communities alike. As of late 2019, the duo has toured alongside acts such as Devin Townsend, Avatar, and Dragonforce as well as headlined shows in the USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, Iceland, Russia, Belarus, Riga, Talin, Scotland, United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Ukraine. January 2020 saw the release of DWTD's latest EP “Blackout”, as well as the addition of drummer John Terry (Starkill) to the duo's live lineup. DANCE WITH THE DEAD’s sixth full-length album, “Driven to Madness”, is slated to be released in January 2022, and features special guests including director John Carpenter and his son, Cody Carpenter.

PERPETUAL ETUDE Release Music Video for "Sail Away" (feat. Göran Edman)

Swedish heavy metal newcomers Perpetual Etude released their debut album, 'Now Is The Time', earlier this autumn. The group has now released a new music video for the track "Sail Away" from the record, which features guest vocals from Göran Edman of Karmakanic. Fans can check out the new video below.

Perpetual Etude was formed in 2019 by Magnus Mild with the sole goal to bring back the best of heavy metal from the '80s. Influenced by the genre when growing up, Magnus teamed up with members from NorthTale, ex-members from Dionysys, Nation, Shadowquest, as well as Göran Edman on “Sail Away” to complete the vision. The result is the best of a whole decade in the astounding debut 'Now Is The Time', an album filled with blazing guitar riffs, keyboard solos, and catchy choruses.

German heavy metal outfit KISSIN’ DYNAMITE kicks off another race to heat the anticipation for their new studio album, Not The End Of The Road, out January 21st via Napalm Records. After releasing the bursting high-voltage first single and title track “Not The End Of The Road“, followed by igniting “What Goes Up" and charity awareness single “Good Life“, the chart-topping five-piece serves another smashing surprise with the enthralling new song “Yoko Ono”, alongside an exciting music video.

Founded in 2007, German heavy metal formation KISSIN’ DYNAMITE have made more than just a name for themselves in the scene: With six studio albums and various chart entries (#7 on the GER album charts with their full-length Ecstasy in 2018), the band established their trademark style - characterized by modern sound, massive anthems and catchy hooks paired with an 80s stadium rock attitude and eccentric look. Crusher “What Goes Up” takes its listener into the truly spectacular soundscapes that make stadiums shake and convinces with Aerosmith-like guitar attacks and an anthemic hook. On Not The End Of The Road, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE continue the cooperation with the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V., a charity organization that supports children with cancer in the rockers' hometown. NITE Unveils New Album Details, Premieres New Song + Video

Blackened heavy metal outfit NITE will be releasing their sophomore full-length, 'Voices of the Kronian Moon,' on March 25, 2022 via Season of Mist, making it the band's debut to the label!
