Symphonic Extreme Metallers ZORNHEYM Share New Lyric Video For "Slumber Comes In Time"! "The Zornheim Sleep Experiment" t

Symphonic extreme metallers ZORNHEYM have unleashed a new track taken from the band's upcoming album, titled The Zornheim Sleep Experiment, which will be out October 22nd via German label Noble Demon! After the already released first single "Keep The Devil Away", the band delivers with "Slumber Comes In Time" another stunning harbinger of the new album, which impresses with folk elements as well as orchestral arrangements! Says the band:

"The epic chorus of Slumber Comes in Time is based around a folk tune from the 16th century that the Wallons brought to Sweden. The male choir and the epic orchestral parts present a new side of Zornheym’s crushing sound."

Furthermore ZORNHEYM add: "We are also happy to officially confirm that there will be a second graphic novel! You liked the first one? Check out the lyric video and see how Anu has outdone herself with this new one."

Dive into the bleak & disturbing world of ZORNHEYM and watch the lyric video for "Slumber Comes In Time" here:

Founded and led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Zorn (ex- DARK FUNERAL), ZORNHEYM quickly grew from an ambitious idea into a dramatic musical and narrative driven concept revolving around the horrors of a mental institution and its prisoners. The band's debut album, Where Hatred Dwells and Darkness Reigns, opened the doors of the asylum in 2017, introducing the terrifying concept and gruesome characters within. Featuring ten new tracks of powerful, cinematic and mesmerizing symphonic extreme metal, ZORNHEYM's upcoming album picks up where they left off, inviting the listener on a distracting journey, straight into the depths of the asylum!

The Zornheim Sleep Experiment will be coming out October 22nd on Noble Demon

American Hard Rock Band ARTIFAS Releases New Single "LEAVE ME FOR DEAD" via IMAGEN RECORDS

Hard rock band ARTIFAS released their new single "LEAVE ME FOR DEAD" via Imagen Records! The single is from their forthcoming album titled Reflections due out November 19, 2021.

"Leave Me For Dead is a song about abandonment and the struggle to overcome the emotions associated with it. We've all had that person in our lives that we trusted, just to find out that they would leave us for dead when things got tough. This song is about just being in disbelief over something like that and the internal battle that follows when you're left in doubt..." says the band.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a DeadmanShamans HarvestPop EvilSaint AsoniaAranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa RoachHoobastankP.O.D.Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas has completed the new album, and plans to unleash it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus)Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

CRANEIUM Release New Single "The Devil Drives" - New Album 'Unknown Heights' Out October 15th

Psychedelic fuzz-rock outfit Craneium have released their new single, ”The Devil Drives”. The track highlights a straightforward and direct side of the Finnish band, with driving bass, big choruses, and colorful melodies. The band’s drummer Joel talks about the new single, sharing:

”This single is a straightforward rock song with lots of drive. It’s a song about playing in an underground rock band for 10 years. It can be a struggle sometimes and there is real hard work behind everything. But as the saying goes “Needs must when the devil drives”, some things you just have to do. There’s a fire burning inside us. And there is no place we’d rather be than on stage playing our songs."

”The Devil Drives” is the third and final single from Craneium’s upcoming third full-length album, 'Unknown Heights'. The new album will be released via The Sign Records on October 15th in vinyl, CD, and digital format, and can be pre-ordered now.

DIAMOND DOGS Announce New Double Album 'Slap Bang Blue Rendezvous' - Out January 21, 2022

mail-162.jpeg

One of rock’s most dynamic stage performers, Sweden’s boogie rock legends DIAMOND DOGS are sitting pretty nicely on top of their game. With the boogie piano and the delightfully sleazy overall feel, they sound like they're having an absolute blast!

The band's new double album, 'Slap Bang Blue Rendezvous', will see a January 21st, 2022 release. The record was produced and mixed by Tomas Skogsberg, and the songs are all composed, jammed, arranged, and recorded at Sunlight Studio (Gräddö, SWE) mainly during the summer months of 2020. Sunlight Studio is without a doubt Diamond Dogs’ true home ground. The group has had countless collaborations with the inimitable producer throughout the years. During varying periods of time, the band members come and stay in the studio’s cottage annex, with sessions, mind-expanding, forest walks, and rock ’n’ roll tales around the clock. Their common love for the golden years of ’Mott’ makes them inseparable.

After making highly acclaimed demo tapes with star producer Max Martin (Britney Spears) in 1991, Diamond Dogs shortly thereafter went into legendary Sunlight Studio with producer and mastermind Tomas Skogsberg (Hellacopters / Entombed). The first single ”Blue Eyes Shouldn’t Be Cryin” from the debut album Honked, launched in 1993, made its way onto rotation on MTV’s classic hard rock show Headbangers Ball, and it became the start of a successful journey that eventually took the group to worldwide cult status. And this time, 30 years after it all started, Diamond Dogs have yet another time returned to inimitable producer Tomas Skogsberg to make their 14th LP. A 24-original songs double album!

Pre-Order 'Slap Bang Blue Rendezvous' Here!

Diamond Dogs are in a league of their own. The band has confidently been releasing top-notch rock albums since the early ’90s, and also has a large reputation for their energetic live shows, which often stretch out to over three hours. You’ll be hard-pressed to find many bands revisiting this style of classic rock or doing it in such style. Think of it as rock and roll sushi!

The Swedish classicists make no bones about their mission in life, to keep the flame of old-fashioned, R&B-greased, riff-driven rock and roll burning. They have been special guests on tours with Nazareth, The Damned, The Cult, Hanoi Rocks, Iggy Pop, and on two Ian Hunter tours. And having toured their emotional home UK several times, headlining the premium venues, the English music press nowadays speaks about the Swedes as sounding more British than the Brits themselves.

Quotes from fellow rockstars:

”We played with The Faces many times, and believe me, Rod and the lads had both good and bad nights up there, but The Diamond Dogs really are like The Faces on one of those brilliant nights!” - Dan McCafferty (Nazareth)

”So some-damn-body has to keep the rawk alive, and the Diamond Dogs have consistently done it better than nearly anyone in the past couple of decades!” - Captain Sensible (The Damned)

”Hey Sulo, where’s my royalties!?” - Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople)

”Diamond Dogs, straight outta 1973, but wears it well!” - Jamie Stewart (The Cult)

”Sweden’s Diamond Dogs are one of the coolest bands on earth!” - Wilko Johnson (Dr. Feelgood)

Slap Bang Blue Rendezvous is a release for children of the ’70s. From the top, it conjures up the spirits of the 70's glam rock era. The warm atmosphere brings the air of the golden age, and the energy of the songs and performance give a promise of rock music for the new generation! Diamond Dogs leaves the listener feeling like they’ve been somewhere momma told them not to go, but knowing that they’ll soon be visiting again!

”This is my masterpiece, my White Album” as Tomas Skogsberg himself puts it. And we can only agree!

THE UNITY To Release New Live Album in November

mail-160.jpeg

Sometimes the seemingly most surprising idea can also be the most obvious: German-Italian melodic metal act The Unity, consisting of Gamma Ray members Henjo Richter (guitar), Michael Ehré (drums) and bandmates Gianbattista Manenti (vocals), Stef (guitar), Jogi Sweers (bass) and Sascha Onnen (keyboards) are set to release their first live album ‘The Devil You Know – Live’ on Steamhammer/SPV on 12 November 2021, their very own reaction to the lockdown, which has still not been fully lifted. “For months, music fans were denied the most important thing in their lives: live concerts! That's why we decided to give our fans exactly that, The Unity live,” explains Michael Ehré, adding: “Some may feel that it’s a little early to bring out this kind of recording after only three studio releases. But for us, this is both a salute to our fans and a consolation to make up for the many shows that didn't happen.”

‘The Devil You Know – Live’ was recorded between 2017 and 2020 during tours through Germany and a number of other European countries, at shows in small, overheated clubs with sweat dripping from the walls, but also at big festivals such as the Masters Of Rock in the Czech Republic and in Germany at the Karlsruhe Knockout Festival and the Bang Your Head in Balingen. The track listing focuses on material from their albums ‘The Unity’ (2017) and ‘Rise’ (2018), but in ‘We Don't Need Them Here’ also includes the single release from their third album ‘Pride’ (2020), a song which was discussed controversially at the time of its release and was one of the highlights of their tour with Rhapsody Of Fire. Talking of which: The Italian band was only one of several renowned groups with whom The Unity have toured extensively. Just as unforgettable were their concert tours alongside Sinner, Edguy and Axel Rudi Pell, where The Unity presented their outstanding skills every night, advertising their subsequent equally acclaimed headlining tours.

The first single release from ‘The Devil You Know - Live’ will be a live clip featuring ‘Close To Crazy’, with excerpts from The Unity’s performance at the Masters Of Rock in Vizovice, Czech Republic, in front of an audience of 22,000 and with german comedy star Sascha Grammel and his famous puppet, the “eagle pheasant” Frederic Freiherr von Furchensumpf, putting in a guest appearance. The latter has been a self-confessed The Unity fan for years and frequently comes to the band’s shows.

The album was mixed and mastered by Achim Köhler, and the front cover courtesy of Felipe Machado Franco (Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Iron Savior) introduces The Unity’s new mascot Dave, who is honoured by the album title. Manentisays: “There is an English saying: ‘Better the devil you know than the devil you don`t’. We think this motto perfectly describes the situation the world currently finds itself in.”

HEILUNG Announces Signature Mead and Beer

Enigmatic world music outfit HEILUNG are proud to announce their personally created, limited edition mead and beer! The specially developed signature beverages, which were created in collaboration with mead developer Mjødgård and beer brewery Nevel, are now available HERE.

HEILUNG comments:
"It´s feasting time! We wish you all a pleasant autumn equinox, the time where we reap what we have sown and enjoy the bounty of the harvest. This year, we have a special sort of harvest to share with you: Our very first batch of our very own ALU and MJØDR. We have always liked the idea of creating a beer and a mead, and thanks to our dear collaborators in Doomstar Bookings it all got set in motion this year. The choice of breweries landed on one of the oldest Danish mead breweries Mjødgård and the well renowned Dutch beer brewers Nevel Wild Ales. Please note: This is by no means a cheap, mass-produced product with a band logo on top, this is something we have been developing after our own taste for quite some time, and pored all our love into, like with everything we do. Skåååååål!"

Doomstar Bookings comments on the collaboration:
"Doomstar Bookings is utterly proud to unveil a project that combines two of our passions; music and tasty thirst quenchers! Upon touring together late 2019 with Heilung, the idea was put forward to create a Heilung beer. That idea started a life of its own and resulted in two beautiful products, the Heilung beer named Alu and the Heilung mead named Mjøðr, respectively created by the Dutch (award winning) artisanal ale expert Nevel and the renowned Danish meadery Mjødgård Bryggeri. Both have created an excellent alcoholic beverage that totally fits the artist's flavour desires and their historical image. A limited amount of 3500 75CL bottles of this herbalized saison tripel beer and 1100 70CL bottles of the herbalized honey wine will be released to the world this autumn equinox through our partners at Spirits for Rock, we hope you can get spiritual after indulging in this amplified tastery!"

Mead developer Mjødgård comments:
"Mjødgård develops mead from passion. We look back in time for inspiration, and we want to show that mead is modern and, as then, still a luxurious drink. Making Heilung mead with the band's historical and natural inspiration are completely in line with Mjødgård. To combine the essence of Heilung with our modern mead we had to use Meadow Sweet as the main spice, with its roots dating back to the Bronze Age, combined with hemp, with its thousands of years of history. Nature is our greatest source why our ingredients are all local. We want to support the preservation of biodiversity. We are therefore really proud to present a mead that builds a bridge between the world of the past and the present."

Beer developer Nevel comments:
"Yup, that's right! We were asked to brew for a neofolk band! Doomstar Bookings approached us, asking whether we wanted to make a traditional Scandinavian beer for Heilung, a band known for reviving traditional Scandinavian music. We could not say 'no' to that. We are very honoured to work together with these amazing artists and we are quite proud of the result. Alu was meant to be a crowd pleaser and we knew the band enjoyed drinking Belgian classics. They opted us to work with historical herbs and ingredients. For this beer, we used a traditional Scandinavian blend of herbs (with a.o. wild bog myrtle and meadowsweet), we added caramelized honey of beekeeper Stevns and we used a traditional Belgian Saison yeast. This boils down to a floral, thirst quencing, crushable beer. This beer is different to what you are used to, especially as this is a first time for us not to use our own house culture. We wanted to make more space for Scandinavian history."

In celebration of the collaboration, Season of Mist & HEILUNG created special and extremely limited hand-made 'mead cups', which are available in three different colours. These cups are available via the shop HERE.

ICYMI: following an extremely successful first ever tour of North America, in which every venue sold out, HEILUNG are returning to the states for one spectacular evening! The Danish formation will be bringing their mesmerizing ritual to the historic, century-old Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO on October 5, 2021. Tickets for the 2020 show will be honored at the new date. For every ticket sold, One Tree Planted will plant a tree in Colorado. You can purchase tickets HERE.

HEILUNG live:
10/05/2021: Denver, CO (USA) @ Red Rocks Amphitheater [TICKETS]

"Ofnir" was a very masculine album. To create it, HEILUNG took a big part of the lyrics from preserved rune inscriptions on weapons and armour. "Futha" is the counterpart, the balance point, the feminine side. Here, the lyrics originate from old Icelandic poetry, in which the holy women chant magic spells and offer their blessings. Hence, female voices are more prominent on "Futha".

HEILUNG means "healing" in the German language and this also describes the core of the band's sound. The listener is supposed to be left at ease and in a relaxed state after a magical musical journey that is at times turbulent.

HEILUNG reach far back in time to the Northern European iron age and Viking period to create their sound experience. The band utilises many means in their songs: from running water via human bones, reconstructed swords and shields up to ancient frame drums as well as bronze rings.

When HEILUNG self-released 'Ofnir' in 2015, the Danish band could hardly have anticipated the breakthrough success of their debut album. Spectacular live shows, strong critical acclaim, and a massive underground buzz added to the constantly high demand for this full-length are the reason why their new label Season of Mist did not hesitate to re-issue 'Ofnir' in several collector's edition formats. HEILUNG's live album, 'LIFA' (2017) was released in parallel.

The word "Futha" is taken from an artefact, that is still controversially discussed. Big names in runology like Düwel and Heizmann can agree neither on the deciphering nor the meaning of the description.…The word is engraved in a gold bracteate from Skåne (SE), which was produced around 500-530 AD. It was discovered in 1831 and these medals or coins were divided into different categories by the Swedish archaeologist Oscar Montelius. The bracteate in question is a so-called C-bracteate named Schonen II-C (Schonen is the German Name of Skåne) with a horse and a face. The rune inscription is between the hind-legs of the horse. Interesting to mention here is the fact that the majority of full rune set inscriptions start with "futh", which also is the first three letters in all runic alphabets. It is considered that our forefathers saw magic potential in engraving the full rune line, but there is also great significance in the beginnings. Science has no key for the meaning of only engraving the first couple of letters yet, but there is a surplus of theories. This brings us to a runic staff found in Bergen, which was given the rather unpoetic archaeological classification B011. It carries the inscription: "felleg er fuþ sin bylli Fuþorglbasm", which means: "Lovely is the cunt, may the cock fill it up". Also interesting is that the Högstena amulet, which we use in the song "Galgaldr", has an alternative deciphering of the word "futh", which in this context means "cunt". All this leaves us with two hints: magic potential and the female genitalia. The great healing power of the female wild strength is evoked in "Futha". Those who have been present at a birth or seen a lioness hunting, know the spirit. The spirit of the "wilde Weiber" (German), the wild wise women. "Futha" endeavours to connect to a time before the female was degraded to a birth-machine and carrier of eternal inherited guilt.

"Futha" was three years in the making and was finished for production and print at midwinter, the very darkest day of the solar year, the 21st in the 12th month at 21:00.

Any attempt to link the band with or bring their music into a modern political or religious context is pointless, since HEILUNG try to connect their listeners with a time before the coming of Christianity and modern political ideologies.

Badflower , Teenage Wrist and Dead Poet Society bring the storm into Webster Hall,NYC

As the sky opened up and the rain drove down outside Webster Hall, inside Badflower, Teenage Wrist and Dead Poet Society were ready to bring the storm onto the stage.

It had been 7 years (way too long) since Boston natives Dead Post Society were on a NYC stage and they made up for it with a powerful opening set and songs from their new album “-!-”.

The stage and the audience were now set for the barrage of the storm to come and Badflower did not disappoint. As soon as Josh and fellow bandmates got to the stage the crowd was ecstatic from opening song Fukboi to the closing My Funeral. At the strike of midnight the band’s newest album “This is How the World Ends” would be released and the storm outside and inside were over.

Literally translating to “an unwelcome” or “unacceptable” person, PERSONA NON GRATA touches on themes of modern societal disgust and degradation. The band gathered at Tom Hunting's house in the mountains where they produced and recorded Persona Non Grata from three home-built studios . Steve Lagudi was at the helm of engineering while the band enlisted Andy Sneap of Backstage Studios to mix the album. For the third time in the band’s history, they returned to Swedish artist Par Olofsson to create the album artwork.

On Tour this Fall in the U.S. with Gojira & Knocked Loose

New Zealand global metal frontrunners ALIEN WEAPONRY just dropped their highly-anticipated sophomore album, Tangaroa, today via Napalm Records! Tangaroa is a massive next step for the band – encompassing all of the elements that make ALIEN WEAPONRY heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars.

Following their two hard-hitting recent singles "Tangaroa" and "Buried Underground", ALIEN WEAPONRY have revealed a third new standout single, "Hatupatu". Performed entirely in the indigenous language of te reo Māori, the story behind this track is not only legendary in the band's culture – it's about one of the de Jong brothers' ancestors! Journey alongside Hatupatu in the new music video as he escapes the dangerous clutches of the fabled witch of the forest, the evil bird-woman Kurangaituku.

Drummer Henry de Jong says:

"The story of 'Hatupatu' is one Lewis and I grew up with our father was the first person to tell us as children. Having a family connection with it only made creating a song more intriguing for us. Traditionally, Māori legends were passed down through families by re-telling them, not by having them written down in books. It only makes sense for us to be re-telling this story as our tūpuna (ancestors) did for generations. We cannot wait to share with the rest of the world."

FUMING MOUTH RELEASES DEVASTATING NEW SINGLE "THEY TAKE WHAT THEY PLEASE"

While fans eagerly await news of their next full-length album, New England death metal beasts FUMING MOUTH have temporarily satiated followers with a devastating new single, "They Take What They Please" and b-side track "Devolve," which are out today from Nuclear Blast.

The single was originally released as part of Triple B Records' "America's Hardcore Volume 5" compilation and is now available for the first time digitally. The Motorhead inspired song brings a slow, slamming pace to the table that FUMING MOUTH has never brought before and is a guaranteed head-nodder for any listener.

Vocalist/guitarist Mark Whelan says:

"'They Take What They Please' is influenced by the one and only "Orgasmatron" by Motorhead. A song that has been a staple for Fuming Mouth since we started, especially Sepultura's cover of it. I've always wanted to do a song like this that stepped outside of our normal sound and could stand on its own. We accompanied it with "Devolve," a one-two punch song that hits fast then hard. Both songs are accompanied by a Necromaniac Zine illustration, one of the most putrid artists in death metal."

"Torn Arteries" is a simple reassertion that for every clone and wannabe that came along in the years following the band's initial hiatus — and have continued to poke their heads out of the mud following their return — CARCASS remains better than almost everyone else at generating a sense of sinister brutality with every riff and every lyric." - Blabbermouth.net

"Carcass spew forth a career-defining record in Torn Arteries. It's one of their finest moments since Heartwork, and an easy contender for album of the year." -

"If I thought I could get away with just posting a GIF of Beavis and Butthead thrashing around in their living room for this review, I would... This really has it all: insanely complex riffs, growl-along choruses, wryly funny lyrics, and even a nine minute song that doesn’t feel it." -

After a year of pandemic delays, English extreme metal legends CARCASS have finally released their grotesque masterpiece and one of 2021's most anticipated albums, "Torn Arteries," that's out today from Nuclear Blast Records. Featuring 10 blood-soaked tracks like "Kelly's Meat Emporium," "Dance of Ixtab" and "Under The Scalpel Blade," the band's 7th record is a fusion of "the best elements of virtually every era of the extremely varied Carcass back catalog and simultaneously raise the resulting amalgam to another, higher level of deftly rendered melodic brutality" (Decibel, Oct 2021).

Today, CARCASS has revealed a new music video for their latest gory single, "The Scythe's Remorseless Swing," which can be viewed below.

Ferocious and uncompromising in their execution, CARCASS’s ability to intricately dissect the innards of death metal, and display them for us to sonically understand has been their point of excellence for over three decades. In 2019 the band released their first single in over 5 years “Under The Scalpel Blade,” followed by a 4 song EP entitled Despicable (October 2020), setting a potent precedent for the full length album coming in September: "Torn Arteries." With the album title itself referencing an old demo created by original drummer Ken Owen back in the 80’s, "Torn Arteries" sits as a bookend on the modern side of the CARCASS discography, connecting directly back to where everything began over 30 years ago.

The album artwork also rings reminiscent of the grotesque photography that appears on classic CARCASS album covers like "Reek Of Putrefaction" of "Symphonies of Sickness." Artist Zbigniew Bielak traveled outside his normal wheelhouse to bring forth a time lapsed set of photos showing vegetables shaped like a heart, rotting over time upon a white plate. This form of artwork was influenced by Japanese Kusôzu, meaning: ‘painting of the nine stages of a decaying corpse.’

It’s very clean, white, which we’ve never done before,” explains vocalist and bassist Jeff Walker, “it doesn’t look evil, or typically death metal, but I like how clean it is; almost like a coffee table book.” This new album presents images, lyrics, and sounds that so distinctly scream CARCASS, but ferry us into a new era of production, songwriting, and art all together.

I think as our 7th album, it does stand out from the others both sonically and stylistically,” says Walker. “You can definitely tell that it’s CARCASS; when you drop that needle on the vinyl, when you hear that guitar tone, you can tell it’s Bill Steer, but each album is always a product of its time.

With "Torn Arteries," each track stands unique from the rest in its approach to guitar, bass, vocals and drumming, along with all the finer details. Filthy and dominating guitar work creates thick layers of tone and melody, piling on top of each other like the weight of dead flesh in tracks like “Kelly’s Meat Emporium.”

The working title for Kelly’s was originally ‘Stock Carcass,’” laughs Walker. We knew that one was a real meat and potatoes track for the album.” Meanwhile the relaxed tempo and catchy beat in “Dance of Ixtab” tell a robust and airier story, one that is certain to get a reaction from live crowds. “We built this song around the beat. We had an approach to each song that was a definite idea. It’s all about ‘what haven’t we done before?’”

Recording and Production for "Torn Arteries" wasn’t as simple as sitting down for a few weeks and knocking it all out, but rather spread out over the course of approximately 1 year bouncing back and forth between England and Sweden. Drummer Daniel Wilding recorded the drums in Sweden at Studio Gröndahl with David Castillo and afterwards Steer's guitars were recorded at The Stationhouse with James Atkinson in Leeds, England. Eventually needing some form of residential location to finalize vocals, bass, and other guitarwork, the band headed back to studio Gröndahl in Sweden to continue work in a very relaxed atmosphere with Castillo. “There was no real big plan to do it this way, the process just organically grew on its own,” says Walker.

Most will find that the only real struggle when indulging in "Torn Arteries" is fighting the desire to start it over the second it finishes. It covers substantial new ground for a band with such a reputation, while still retaining that addictive, time honored CARCASS sound that has come to represent the face of true death metal.

CARCASS is:
Bill Steer - Guitars
Jeff Walker - Bass/Vocals
Daniel Wilding - Drums

SLEEP TOKEN RELEASE THEIR MOST FRAGILE OFFERING YET WITH "FALL FOR ME"

THIS PLACE WILL BECOME YOUR TOMB OUT SEPTEMBER 24 VIA SPINEFARM

SLEEP TOKEN have released the video for "Fall For Me," the latest single from their forthcoming album This Place Will Become Your Tomb.

Watch the "Fall For Me" video below

"Fall For Me" arrives as a moment of pure emotional expression — the video is a visual manifestation. As fans are accustomed to, the song and video will receive no explanation from Sleep Token.

Sleep Token's second album This Place Will Become Your Tomb will be released on September 24 via Spinefarm. This new 12-track offering delves further into the enigmatic universe of Sleep Token, pushing boundaries and blurring genres, while retaining their signature sound.

Pre-orders for This Place Will Become Your Tomb are now live here, with an instant download of singles "Alkaline" and "The Love You Want," plus special bundle options, including limited vinyl, t-shirts, hoodies, and long-sleeves.

ABOUT SLEEP TOKEN:

Beneath the Sleep Token banner, lies the unique, broad-based vision of one individual — anonymous, silent, masked, armed with a staggering vocal range, a deft touch on the keyboards, plus a live approach that is never less than fully engaged. The UK underground entity only known as Sleep Token, fronted by Vessel, began the Sundowning ritual June 20, 2019 with "The Night Does Not Belong To God." Sleep Token began to release their "offerings" bi-weekly, released Thursday's at Sundown BST with accompanying visualizers. Each offering had its own emblem, establishing the Sleep Token universe on the debut album Sundowning. On June 18, 2021, the cycle began again but born anew. The new album This Place Will Become Your Tomb pushes the boundaries of Sleep Token's sound into new avenues of blurring genres while still retaining the signature sound.

SPINEFARM PRESS RELEASE: VRSTY Announce "Welcome Home" Out This November

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have announced that their new album Welcome Home will arrive on November 19 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

Watch the video for first single "Sick"

"I must be cursed to repeat cycles because 'Sick,' much like 'Shameless' from our EP, was the very last song written for the release," says Varela. "This song actually didn't exist until a few months after the record was pretty much done. It was also an incredibly different process writing this one. Instead of my usual approach of working with [producer] Andrew [Baylis], I also got to work with Kile Odell and Zach Williams before bringing Andrew into the mix. It's also one of the few songs that I've ever written where I'm just having fun singing about whatever random story pops into my head. Sometimes, music should just be fun. That's what I went for with this — and I'm glad I did."

Welcome Home is the band's debut full length for the label and follows last year's breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles "Shameless" and "Massive." The latter was the most played on SiriusXM's Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020. VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren't just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own.

"Welcome Home is an incredibly personal album to me," Varela shares. "I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they're not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won't find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It's just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I've felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me."
