Midwestern power pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps have announced plans to release their new 'Machines for Living' EP in early October via Land Ski Records. The enthralling lead track 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' previews this latest collection.

The latest in a fruitful string of releases, this EP follows their widely acclaimed 'Drone Etiquette' album, released in late 2021, the Leaps dish out a fine new collection of 90s college rock-inspired compositions, their distinct sound built on a magnetic alternative rock foundation.

Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps surrounds principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg, who came up with the band's name in college while daydreaming through his Greek Archaeology class. Writing solo under that name for years, he finally assembled a band in 2012.

'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' is a cover with an interesting, personal story. "My uncle, Jon Asher, was lifelong best friends with the folk/rock superstar Dan Fogelberg until Dan passed away in 2007. In the mid-1960s, as teenagers, they had a band in Peoria, IL called The Coachmen. They were successful locally and opened up for touring bands like The Who and The Hollies. Their only recorded output was a 45 released on Ledger Records in 1967. 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' was the A-side. I listened to it often when I was growing up. It was inspiring to have an uncle who had released a record – it gave me hope that I could do it myself someday," says Drew Forsberg.

From their 2013 debut 'Praise Elephants' EP, which NME Magazine described as “celestial guitar jangle”, they released an EP every autumn until 2017. From their sophomore 'Drive Drive Delay' EP in 2014 to their fifth 'Bicycle Face' EP, their music has been widely praised. Delivering one perfect power pop cocktail after another, 2018 eventually brought their 18-track 'Pop That Goes Crunch' anthology.

That year, the Persian Leaps returned to their roots as a studio project, releasing the 'Electrical Living' LP in 2019 and the 'Smiling Lessons' EP in 2020 together with Jon Hunt, a musician and designer of the cover artwork for most of the band's releases to date.

'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' is out now, available on Bandcamp, and will also be offered as an instant gratification track when ordering the full 'Machines For Living' EP. As of October 7, this EP will be released across online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Candy Coffins preview lead single 'Everyday a Fresh Atrocity' from loaded new LP

"A compelling example of the band at their considerable best, walking a fine-tuned line between darkness and the silver-lining of new romanticism. Haunting with loads of energy, this song boasts some impressive guitar work and, of course, excellence in frontman Jame Lathren's nervous, edgy vocal delivery" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Candy Coffins take no prisoners with lush instrumentation and sombre storytelling. Their gothic post-punk vortex engulfs you. Poignant vocal melodies swoon amongst soft guitars and expansive synths to craft a song that will continue wandering the sonic corridors of your mind" ~ The Record Stache

Post-punk new romantics Candy Coffins have announced they will release a new album in October. Entitled 'Once Do It With Feeling', this 10-track offering comes two years after the band's latest 'Somehow Misplaced' EP.

Ahead of this, the band presents 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity', the first taster of this stunning album with accompanying video created by Jame Lathren. Candy Coffins provides current fans a needed fix while also presenting much to pique the interest of new listeners.

"The song 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' explores the dark corners where our work often resides, both sonically and lyrically. It conveys the feeling of the haunting suffocation of a broken relationship, compounded by a reality that seems to become more dystopian each day," says frontman-songwriter Jame Lathren.

"The full album chronicles a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution. All the feelings and emotions of tumult are captured here, from both persons’ perspectives."

This album showcases mature strides in songwriting, the band relating the themes addressed both confidently and cohesively. Emotionally and sonically saturated, their music boasts Cure-esque textures and melody, as well as the thematic elements and visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs.

Based in Columbia, South Carolina, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jame Lathrenformed Candy Coffins in 2018. A small-town boy with admiration for artists who were not on popular radio, Jame Lathren had a rich youthful experience as a cultural outcast. His resilience, sensitivity and hyper-awareness of his emotional state would ultimately permeate his own music, getting right to the heart of the emotions surrounding the human condition.

After disbanding his previous post-punk band Crown The Cake, he formed Candy Coffins with hometown guitar legend Tom Alewine (Bachelors of Art), followed by seasoned music scene veterans Alex Mabrey on bass and Justin Purdy on keys, and former Iron & Wine touring drummer Jonathan Bradley. Their dynamic and textured approach has contributed to the band's trademark lush sound, channeling and bolstering Lathren’s emotive songwriting and delivery.

With tasteful nods to Joy Division, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, The Afghan Whigs and The Cult, as well as contemporaries like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Interpol, Candy Coffins’ sound is dark and emotionally restless, but with elements of hope and elation. Defiantly unique, their sound is a welcome respite from musical mediocrity.

'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Once Do It With Feeling' LP will be released on October 21 and can already be pre-ordered at https://candycoffins.bandcamp.com.

The band has also released the official music video for "Crown or Crucify." The single, which reached TOP 40 on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart, is off of their Thunder Cult Records released EP, Irkalla.

"We are currently in the studio with Sahaj Ticotin (Ra, Motley Crue) recording the second album, follow-up to our 'Irkalla' EP, which was released last year. Also, in the spirit of Jane's Addiction's "The Gift", we're creating a 100% DIY short film, inspired by the Sumerian classic hero myth 'The Descent of Inanna'."

New York-based dark rock mavens Vajra originate and radiate outward from the sensual and multi-range vocals of composer and visionary Annamaria Pinna. Pinna and core bandmates, guitarist Dave Sussman(formerly of industrial metal pioneers Bile and the early New York incarnation of Criss Angel's Angeldust) and drummer Jimmy DeMarco(Soultone Cymbals Artist) conjure music from a diverse panoply of threads.

At its core, Vajra can be called dark rock, but the spectrum isn't always pinned to the tinges of the abyss. Hauntingly dark and hypnotic, Vajra’s music weaves Eastern Indian themes with melodic, progressive rock, creating foreboding and mysterious lullabies. "The influences are varied," affirms Pinna. "Living in different places like Mumbai, Tuscany, NOLA, San Francisco and New York color my experience. Dad was a monk before he met my mom, and his spirituality has infused the way I perceive my experience. I've studied yoga, meditation, dance, composition at Julliard and law, and I have this condition called Synesthesia, which affects how I process music. Nature, life, art, Tarkovsky, von Trier, Kubrick, Lynch, philosophers and consciousness astronauts (e.g., Terence McKenna, Alan Watts, Baba Ram Das, Joseph Campbell, etc.), mysticism, the occult, history, dance and politics are influences. Musically, it's a lot of everything including Tool, A Perfect Circle, Om, Classical Hindustani, Alice In Chains, Duran Duran, Black Sabbath, Deftones, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Fever Ray, soul music, The Mars Volta, etc. And, I believe there is divinity in creativity."

"We are travelers who go outside the bounds of a sense-based perception to catch a musical or lyrical idea and then translate it to the material realm. When we get out of our own ways, we are translators or conduits for energies that move through us. Honoring what comes through is important for us. Musically, lyrically, and visually we explore what we are driven to explore, and we release what we decide to release when the time is right," offers Pinna. "It's mainly instinct. We usually release on auspicious days. For 'Irkalla', each release also was released on a day that was a derivative of three in terms of numerology. For 'Pleroma', it was the summer solstice."

The long silence between debut self-produced cult album Pleroma (2012) and the group’s inspiring and mind-bending EP, Irkalla - both featuring powerhouse session drummer and long-time friend, Blake Fleming (ex-The Mars Volta) - was the product of a rigorous touring schedule and a complex confluence of unexpected life events that paused Pinna’s songwriting. Indeed, the creation process for Irkalla pushed forward in the darkest shadows and the most brilliant of lights.

"Things shift and move throughout the album depending on the song and each moment within the song," Pinna reveals. “Perhaps the music and lyrics of Irkalla reflect an esoteric space to explore the dark night of our souls. What is important is that the music may provide a portal to go on a journey. The journey will be different for each individual. My musical heroes have done this for me."

Conceptually, Irkalla is the first part of a trilogy exploring the various levels of consciousness. Not the medical definition, but rather the philosophical (Eastern and Western) and esoteric. The use of the Sumerian word, "'Irkalla'," which is a mythological Underworld of sorts for which there's no return, is both metaphorical and literal. The trials and tribulations Pinna experienced while writing Irkalla appeared overlapping and ceaseless: her own personal Hell. Like an alchemist, she used her venture into the lowest level of consciousness as a theme that slithered throughout the album's six snake-like songs. The metaphoric association to the ancient Underworld also plays out in the bonus tracks on Irkalla , where Vajra deconstruct their influences and spirit animals into a three-part music ritual dedicated to the Shadow Queen (her Sumerian name is Ereshkigal and her Greek counterpart is Hekate).

"Irkalla focuses on the lowest level of consciousness," Pinna says. "It is the base, material, selfish, ego aspects of ourselves (i.e., the ego-driven, lie, cheat, steal, aspects of the self). It is the place that we must shine a light and acknowledge before we move to the next levels of awareness. Also, I'm obsessed with the Sumerian history right now. I was contemplating Goddess energy, and when and what prompted what I see as an imbalance between the masculine and feminine energies. I was wondering what it really meant to have a God and why it was considered, by some, a 'He.' I'm also fascinated by what is behind the concepts of heaven and hell."

Vajra recently released videos for "Maya," "Crown or Crucify," "Sever the Tie," “Wavering” and "Wind," which were internally-written, shot, produced and edited by Pinna and Sussman and was co-shot with DeMarco. The videos operate as separate story puzzle pieces to the larger short film of Irkalla's whole. The video for “Maya” was awarded nine Official Selections awards at the Cannes International Cinema Festival 2021, the New York Independent Cinema Awards 2021, the Montreal Independent Film Festival 2021, the 2021 ARFF Paris, Venice Shorts 2021, Chicago Indie Film Awards, the Kalakari Film Festival, Boston Independent Film Awards 2021, Berlin International Art Film Festival 2022.

Irkalla was produced by New York native Daniel 'Sahaj' Ticotin (Ra, Mötley Crüe). Pinna was introduced to Ticotin in 2018 after both were on different spiritual missions while in India. The twosome hit it off as former expats and with similar interests in music. The majority of the sessions were captured in Los Angeles, with keyboards and some harmony vocals being put to proverbial tape at Pinna's home studio in New York. The drums were also tracked in upstate New York at a different studio by Fleming. Based on his impressive work for the non-album single, "The Mirror," Vajra again hired two-time Grammy winning studio ace Camilo Silva F. Between Ticotin's sage experience as producer/mixer and Silva's deft mastering job, 'Irkalla', with all its hidden caves and spectacular peaks, sounds positively explosive.

For sure, Vajra have the future pegged to today with the launch of riveting music videos and the broadcast of their striking Tas Limur (Volto, Tool) designed cover art. It's from here that the adventurous outfit will continue to unfurl angels and demons, light and dark, as they prowl into the future on new indie Thunder Cult Records.

“Must-See Act” - Rolling Stone
“It’s time to get to know Vajra” - Loudwire
“Powerful, catchy and sentimental all at once.” – Revolver

Seattle indie rockers Black Nite Crash announce new album, tease first single 'The Take'

"Slow and brooding, their mixture of psychedelia and rock, with this steady yet mysterious backdrop and consecutive male-female-vocals, is a winning formula, producing an inescapably transcendent vortex of sound" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Seattle-based psychedelic rock outfit Black Nite Crash have announced they will release their new album 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash' in mid-October. To quench your sonic thirst for now, they present the lead track 'The Take', a storyteller-led pulsating noir singalong with a trippy silhouette-laden video directed by Jim Biggs with assistance from James Stone.

Formed in Seattle twenty years ago, Black Nite Crash has, over the years, involved more than 30 members around Jim Biggs, the last remaining original member. Yet somehow, the band has maintained a coherent sound and vision throughout.

Born of the desire to do something more simple and direct than the myriad Radiohead wannabes flooding the indie and alternative airwaves at the time, the band embraced loud guitars, memorable hooks and solid pop tunes with simple arrangements, which have guided the band in their compositions through to today.

Today Jim Beggs (vocals, guitar) is joined by John Parker (bass), James Stone(guitar), Tony Zuniga (drums) and Claire Tucker (guitar/vocals).

"This album was started before the pandemic and then endlessly delayed until now, which speaks to the perseverance of the band. This is the band's fifth full length in nearly twenty years of existence, and it looks to be the start of a period of more frequent releases as we work through our backlog of unreleased recorded songs, not to mention the surplus of new material we're working on even now," says Jim Biggs.

"After a long career of creating fuzzed out noise pop with wall of sound guitars somewhere between psychedelia and shoegaze, we're branching out into more subtle dynamics and stretching our sound to include different stylistic flourishes - everything from Murder Ballads to Baggy pop tunes. There's also something about it that sounds like the wide open west; for a band that lives in the soggy Pacific Northwest, the sound of the desert has long seemed to haunt our music (to be fair, the band, as constituted on this release includes Tony and Sharim, both from Las Vegas and Jasun is from Arizona). All of that being said, we are not completely abandoning our fuzzy pop tunes."

Work on the 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash' LP began before the pandemic, the songs a reflection of a band finding its feet again, with (then) relatively new members Claire Tucker and Sharim Johnson putting their imprint on this batch of songs. Then can lockdown before tracking could be completed.

In that time, longtime bassist Jasun Hadaway, who made a big contribution to the album, left the band. As things opened back up, we began to slowly progress towards completing the album. Sharim left the band just as longtime collaborator Matt Brown (Trespassers William) finished the mixing and the band handed the recording to mastering genius Adam Straney. The result is the most diverse set of songs the band has ever released, combining the band's standard fuzzed out guitars with some newer flavours.

As of August 24, 'The Take' will be available everywhere online, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full album 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash' will be released on October 14 through the Neon Sigh label.

Legendary vocalist LISA GERRARD & composer MARCELLO DE FRANCISCI release emotive 'Exaudia' album

“A pure embodiment of the Divine Feminine" ~ Post-Punk.com

"Profoundly beautiful... timeless music... a match made in heaven" ~ The Spill Magazine

Legendary Dead Can Dance vocalist and highly acclaimed film composer Lisa Gerrard has released her latest collaboration with Los Angeles-based composer/ record producer Marcello De Francisci. Their stunning new album 'Exaudia'presents a vivid collection of epic and empowering compositions.

Earlier, the duo offered two tasters from this album - the atmospheric ambient track ‘When The Light Of Morning Comes’, released in July, and the gorgeous tapestry of ‘Until We Meet Again’, released in June. Each is accompanied by a euphoric and cinematic new video, adding powerful imagery to these gorgeous compositions.

‘Exaudia’ is the term used when a monarch grants a citizen of his kingdom an audience and, as a result, consents to a wish. A fitting title considering how regal this recording is. Working alongside a team of other musicians including Bahar Shah, Astrid Williamson, Daniela Arbizzi and Farhad Behroozi, ‘Exaudia’ combines the encompassing and euphoric textures of De Francisci’s production with Gerrard's evocative and haunting vocals. A feminine embodiment of poetic expression, the record plays majestically with this narrative, inviting a rich and vivid texture within each offering.

Ms. Gerrard and Mr. De Francisci met many years ago through soundtrack work, their collaborative efforts including soundtrack scores and their first album ‘Departum‘. This recording follows Gerrard's 2021 collaborative ‘Burn’ album with Dead Can Dance bandmate Jules Maxwell, produced by James Chapman (MAPS),

This full-length album captures the broad and ethereal majesty of their work together, highlighting a rich and soaring tone and conveying the bold and orchestral inspiration that has been tethered to their new studio album since its conception.

“I met Marcello while I was composing for a film called 'Kings'. He had wonderful engineering skills and I liked him as a person. After a while, we decided to try composing together and went on to compose some film scores. This work was borne out of a desire to write something together during Covid, there is also the artistic desire to embrace the opportunity to unlock our unfulfilled visions. The album is very physical in its construction and sensibility, it is a deeply sensual work that enjoys a sense of empowered subtlety," says Lisa Gerrard.

Regarding his own inspiration behind this record, Marcello De Francisci notes, “For quite some time, I had been playing around with the idea of composing a brand new track to Lisa Gerrard’s vocals on 'Diary for the Fallen'. I wanted a darker and more brooding version, which could be attributed to Hans Zimmer’s 'Time' from the 'Inception' soundtrack without plagiarising his work. I wondered what it would have sounded like if Lisa Gerrard had sung on something of this nature, in addition pushing the envelope even further by writing an aria towards the end of this piece including orchestra, choirs and percussion, which would result in one grand finale. It had to be something completely our own”.

Lisa Gerrard has established herself as one of the world’s most highly acclaimed film composers, winning a Golden Globe for her work on the score for ‘Gladiator’ with Hans Zimmer. Her film work also includes ‘Whale Rider’, which received an Academy Award nomination, and ‘Balibo’, which won the Screen Music Award for Best Feature Film Score. In 2018, she received a Grammy nomination for ‘Hiraeth’, alongside David Kuckhermann, and went on to become a featured vocalist on the score for ‘Dune’ before returning to Dead Can Dance to release ‘Dionysus’ and tour in 2022. Gerrard also performs as part of the ‘Gladiator Live’ concerts and ‘The World of Hans Zimmer’ tours.

De Francisci began his career as a visual artist while attending fine arts at an institution founded by the famed Baroque painter Bartolome Esteban Murillo in Seville, Spain. He furthered his education at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. In 2006, he won the Best Soundtrack of the Year G.A.N.G. Award for his work on Sony Computer Entertainment’s ‘God of War’ game. He soon partnered with Lisa Gerrard, launching their trajectory of collaborating and co-writing motion picture soundtrack scores together.

The ‘Exaudia' album is out now on vinyl and digitally via Atlantic Curve, a London-based label subsidiary of Schubert Music Europe GmbH. It can be found on Spotify, Apple Music and other platforms at https://orcd.co/exaudia

Ree-Vo & NØiSE reveal epic US-UK electro-hop collab from Ree-Vo’s ‘Dial ‘R’ For Ree-Vo’ EP

"Rapper T.Relly and producer Andy Spaceland's gripping debut plays stylistic hopscotch in Bristol's low-end dance history. Peppered with old-school film lifts, their electro-hop wriggles and writhes" ~ MOJO

"Their music is uncompromising, fired-up, rough around the edges and equally flies in the face of the powers that be and vile elements of modern-day society... their use of rap, electronica and rhythm wind together seamlessly, demonstrating a deep textural palette that also draws on club / house, dub and EBM" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Combines the energy of rave culture with reggae’s penchant for social commentary... vibrant, full of life, socially aware, and infectious to its core" ~ The Big Takeover Magazine

It's always appreciated when two talented artists create something innovative, bringing their own wonderful sonic domain to a cross-genre experimental music kaleidoscope. The single in question here involves a Transatlantic collaboration between the US collective NØISE (made up of Joe Cassidy, Shepard Fairey, John Goff, Merritt Lear) and Bristol's innovative electro-hop duo Ree-Vo (rapper T. Relly with DJ / producer Andy Spaceland a.k.a. Andy Jenks).

The new NØISE track ‘Automatic (Ree-Vo Remix)’ appears on Ree-Vo’s new limited edition 10" vinyl, which also features collaborations with Object Object, Dälek and iconic industrial dancehall artist The Bug. Limited to 500 copies, the cover artwork is a tribute to Lee Perry. The 10” vinyl is being released together with Ree-Vo’s debut album ‘All Welcome on Planet Ree-Vo’, pressed on turquoise-blue gatefold vinyl (and also released on CD and digitally). The 10” release was released on orange vinyl.

Andy Spaceland explains, “NØISE had done a fantastic remix of our track ‘Spacebox’, and Shepard had done the very cool artwork for the 7”. Joe (Cassidy) got in contact and asked us to do a Ree-Vo versions of the NØISE track ‘Automatic’, with Relly adding new vocals. The original is fantastic, incredible vocals and production. we just wanted to take it further down the bass music road. Relly’s vocals are perfect for it, we mixed it big and heavy, and Joe did the final master to add the sprinkle of magic. Shepard treated some photo’s to use in the video - we laid them over footage of Merrit and Relly. We couldn’t have been happier with the results of the collaboration.”

This album could only really have been made in one city steeped as it is in Bristol's decades of less conventional hip-hop and bass music. Andy recorded, produced and mixed at Bristol's Christchurch Studios, the home of Mezzanine-era Massive Attack. The Bristol music mavericks also recently reveals their fun and vibrant video for 'Spacebox',

"Our sound has the life blood of sound-system bass culture carried through veins of hiphop and rave. I describe it like that BCuz it’s a live and living thing not just a sound, though essentially it is Bristol Dirt," says T. Relly.

As apparent from the slow boiling cooker that is Bristol’s musical heritage, this track has evolved into a bass-heavy thunderstorm of dub, post-punk and hip hop. Merritt Lear’s original hypnotic, siren vocal is perfectly poised against Relly’s roll call of injustice and misinformation. It’s a contrast that could easily trip over itself but Andy Spaceland has had years of working on bass music, having been signed to Massive Attack’s ‘Melankolik’ label (and brought on board as their tour DJ), making an album with Horace Andy, and more recently working with The Pop Group’s Mark Stewart.

His musical roots run deep. After art school (where Brian Eno was his examiner), Andy Spaceland got involved in bass music with Bristol's Static Sound System and a collaborative 12” with Rudy Tambala (AR Kane) as Sugarboat Vs Sufi. He has collaborated with Smith and Mighty, Elizabeth Fraser and Madonna, and has released music on Dj Die’s label Gutterfunk as White Bully. Andy is also part of 5 Billion in Diamonds with LA producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage).

New York artist Dmitry Wild presents 'Liberation' feat. Tryst, heralding fresh 'Electric Souls' LP

"A sonic and visual storyteller... channeling Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Lee Hazlewood" ~ Post-Punk.com

"Upbeat, positive, and catchy. With memorable riffs and a notable feel-good vibe... true rock 'n' roll spirit" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A tastefully crafted raucous free-rolling rocker-zen cracker" ~ Skylight Webzine

"Wild, swaggering and buoyant... hyper full-band rhythm and feel-good factor" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

New York-based garage rocker Dmitry Wild presents 'Liberation' feat. Tryst, the first taster from his forthcoming 'Electric Souls' album, showcasing his trademark blend of 70’s vintage rock, mixed with garage rock and punk ethos.

Given the pain and struggles currently experienced by the Ukrainian people at the hands of a maniacal tyrant, this song is dedicated to them, but is just as actual for a great number of situations around the world.

Dmitry wrote 'Liberation' as a virtual rock opera - a two-part opus dedicated to liberating ourselves from the oppressions of the systems in place. The first part roars as a classic rock banger before transitioning to a notable confrontation with a policeman at the protest while searching for what unites us, before an epic solo inspired by David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream'. The song ends with Tryst joining in, the duet singing in tandem “Set us free, Love will Rise and set us free".

"This album is rooted in our human experience in the 21st century. Things have come to a boiling point this year on the social and climate front and at the global level. There are protests, virtual revolutions and personal revolutions that we are all undergoing, but by arming ourselves with electricity and guitars, we are still making noise and yelling about our belonging in this beautiful and wild place," says Dmitry Wild.

"As fears subside, we can gather together and sing for 'Liberation'. The only thing that binds us together is our voices - in unison they create a thunder storm as resistance movements unveil their power, as people ultimately realize that higher powers control a lot beyond our voting rights."

Very passionate about the craft of songwriting, Dmitry Wild used the downtime of the great pandemic to get some serious work done, completing the final writing for this solo album and gradually recording this material. Some material from earlier is also included, dating back to when he was living in California.

With music steeped in garage rock and rock n roll, this album also brings in the flair of 80’s epic synths, bluesy songs, gypsy-inspired compositions, and 70’s-inspired driving tunes.

On this album, Wild collaborated with Strange House Media, their main engineer, Byron Frayne, mixing most of the songs included here and mastering the full album. This collaboration also extended to the two songs released from this album to date - the videos for 'Don’t Need Anybody' and 'Castle Walls' were also created in collaboration with Strange House Media, Byron Frayne and Tryst as editor.

On the live music scene, Dmitry's shows take on a more rocking sound. Performing under the name Dmitry Wild & The Spells, the band currently involves Tommy Love on drums, Robert Paley on bass, Garret Smelcer on keyboards, and David Varlow on rhythm guitar. He is also sometimes joined by notable Rockabilly bassist Chops LaConte and then things take on a more theatrical turn.

As August 29, 'Liberation' will be available at all fine online music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where the album may already be pre-ordered. The 'Electric Souls' LP will be released on October 14.

Black Market Karma deliver sonically fluid 'Dead Trajectory' single, previewing new album

"Emotive, tender and nostalgic...It's an intriguing and evocative release that effortlessly demonstrates Stan Belton's spectacular composing skills" ~ Clash Magazine

"With musical influences including numerous genres, their psychedelic vision goes well beyond the influential underpinnings of 60s rock, presenting a kaleidoscopic array of sonic threads woven together into the fabulous tapestry" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

UK-based psychedelic rockers Black Market Karma present 'Dead Trajectory', a warm and welcome preview of their new album ‘Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas', slated for release in late September via London boutique label Flower Power Records.

Hailing from London and now residing on the South coast of England, the band are back with a colourful carousel of jingle jangle and distorted wobble, following up the 2021 long-player 'The Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine', a lo-fi instrumental, nostalgic, beat driven opus concocted during the 2020 lockdown.

Lead track 'Dead Trajectory' is the summer feel-good track we all need, Live footage in the accompanying video was filmed by Jenn Cliff-Wilcock in October 2021 during Black Market Karma's UK tour.

Their tenth album 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' is a loaded 11-track offering with a fluid texture of beach-soaked instrumentation. Themes range from observations of the sycophantic circles that leach from the arts, desperately trying to stay spiritually close to a geographically distant love, Japanese folklore and the deep connection between man and beast.

“I like to think of the sound of this record as Aquatica. It's like a psychedelic carousel of syrupy melody and liquid audio. Fat, baggy, saturated bass and drums, shimmering jangly guitars, wobbling fuzz, drunken keyboards and telephonic vocals. Imagine something along the lines of The Velvet Underground and The Troggs making tunes together but underwater, performing on marine life instead of instruments and routing the whole thing through a UFO," says Stanley Belton.

"The album's title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the idea that nothing is truly original. Influence is an infinite web connecting all art and I think that's a beautiful thing that should be embraced. I often see people getting too hung up on the pursuit of some kind of idea of total originality that doesn't exist. It's all in the blend.”

With broader flavours of psychedelia, fuzzed out tones and thumping grooves, Black Market Karma's thick and colourful sound is shaped by the use of a lot of vintage equipment. Rooted in 60's guitar and pop music, other influences range from folk and blues through to lo-fi electronica, traditional Indian music, shoegaze, hip hop, soul and Motown.

To date, the band has released nine albums, eight of which were released between 2012 and 2016 and entirely written, performed, recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist Stanley Belton while living in London at the band's own 'Cocoon' studio. On the new album, Stan has broken trend of doing everything himself by co-writing and performing two tracks on the album ('Kong' and 'A Crying Shame') together with his brother Finley Belton.

More recently, Stan has been working on collaborations with Pete Kember (a.k.a. Sonic Boom) of Spacemen 3, Joakim Ahlund of Cesars & Les Big Byrd, Tess Parks and The Underground Youth.

As of August 31, 'Dead Trajectory' will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music and Spotify. The 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP will be released on September 29. The double album, which features 180-gram coloured vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, can be pre-ordered on vinyl at https://bit.ly/3QNCBjE. It will also be available for digital download via Bandcamp.

Darkwave / Postpunk pioneers PINK TURNS BLUE kick off 'TAINTED 2022' tour, release new EP

"One of the most ethically driven and environmentally conscious post-punk artists of our time... powerful" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Consistent purveyors of quality guitar-laden post punk and dark-bent indie rock... one of the most honest and most direct enduring acts in post punk today" ~ Destroy // Exist

"The timeless message is driven home with a timeless sound composed with refined effect" ~ Post-Punk.com

"They have had high ranks in the charts and still have a place deep in the heart of many fans" ~ Reflections of Darkness

"When it comes to actual darkwave, Berlin’s Pink Turns Blue are rightly regarded as one of the founding acts... one of the finer exemplars of continental postpunk" ~ CVLT Nation

Trailblazing darkwave-postpunk pioneers Pink Turns Blue kick off their long-awaited TAINTED 2022 tour on September 2, bringing them to 23 cities across North America and select cities in the UK, Germany and Spain the same day that they release their special-edition 'TAINTED Tour-2022 EP'.

Riding on the strength of their 'Tainted' album, released in late 2021 via Orden Records, and on the trail of their recently released single 'Not Gonna Take It', Pink Turns Blue brings this music to fans from one coast to another while also sharing four new songs that reflect their emotional state in today’s world.

Formed in 1985 in the first generation of gothic rock and named after a Hüsker Dü song, today Pink Turns Blue is a trio, made up of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Paul Richter (drums) and Luca Sammuri (bass). Their debut album 'If Two Worlds Kiss' advanced the darkwave sub-genre while becoming a seminal post-punk album. Emerging from the fear and uncertainty of a divided Cold War Germany, they have since released a dozen full-length LPs.

Both the 'Tainted' LP and the new EP relate to a world in havoc and the seemingly powerlessness of today's youth to take over the world and change it for the better. But this album is also a call to never give up, to never lose faith or the understanding that making this world just a bit better every day is what makes our lives worth living.

With potent singles such as 'Not Even Trying', 'You Still Mean Too Much To Me', 'There Must Be So Much More' and 'So Why Not Save The World' address such themes as climate change, its effects, the reaction to it, the split within society, isolation, health risks and financial uncertainty.

“Since Pink Turns Blue presented the ‘Tainted’ album, things have changed for the worse, or have become more desperate and we have used this time to develop a few songs from the ‘Tainted’ sessions further - songs that didn’t make it onto the album since they were not ready yet, says In defiance of the global trend that the powerful use any excuse to enforce their agenda and defend their accumulation of benefices, more and more people see through it and stand up – for themselves and never give up to make this world just a little bit better," says Mic Jogwer.

"Since February 24 (actually my birthday), when Russia invaded Ukraine, things became even worse. Instead of slowly getting back to “normal” and trying to get our humanity’s shit together and to alleviate climate change and the consequential effects, now we have to cope with war and an energy, food and financial crisis (again) with the risk of losing the battle for equality, climate change, peace... you name it. So now the world is not only TAINTED but is in DISARRAY".

As of September 2, the 'TAINTED Tour-2022 EP' can be found everywhere online. The 'Tainted' LP is also available via Apple Music and Spotify, with CD and limited-edition vinyl editions available via the band's website. Tickets for their live dates can be ordered at https://pinkturnsblue.com/live-dates.

Even though they are originally from disparate parts of the country, Charlotte, NC based Alt Rockers Falling Through April have come together to form a cohesive unit in a city that is rich in music history and has a thriving independent rock scene. Their energy is abundant in their live shows and in the music.

Falling Through April released first single and video “Desperate Measures” in September of 2017 and have gained significant visibility: Google Play Music’s Modern Rock radio channel and iDobi radiowere early supporters and are playing the song. The video premiered on Alternative Press and debuted @ #13 on the Youtube Alternative Hotlist playlist. The video is featured on the Footlocker In-Store network in 1,835 stores in 23 countries as well as several other major brand retail outlets. “Desperate Measures” is playing in over 3800 Health Clubs worldwide, and has been added to syndicated shows like MusicMix USA and Sidewalks TV, among others.

The band’s founders (Jim Siani, Dave Piontek, Dan Candia) have weathered the full gamut of hurdles as a startup since forming in 2011, ranging from exploding transmissions and ghosting vocalists to nearby celebratory gun fire landing Taylor in the hospital. When charismatic front woman Mikaela Salazar stepped into their lives in 2016, the road blocks were removed, and everyone found something to be excited about.

The 4 founders found each other while playing in different bands that were a part of the Charlotte indie rock scene. The band members came to music naturally, as they all had musicians in their family: Dan came from a long line of international musicians, and his dad always played guitar when he was growing up. Dave started in music early, and in his early teens he became enamored of the Electric Bass and that became his instrument of choice. Jim knew by the age of 13 that he wanted to be a professional musician, inspired by acts like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, and his favorite band Weezer. Taylor grew up watching his Dad play drums, so you could say they are in his family DNA. Mikaela grew up in a house that was never silent, and the desire to be involved in music was second nature. She was inspired to become a singer by strong female musical role models like Alanis Morissette and Gwen Stefani.

The band has 2 previous independent releases: The Take Flightalbum in 2012 and the Risks and Rewards Ep in 2015.

In early 2017 FTA packed up and drove to Nashville, TN for a several month’s long recording binge with producer and friend Jon King(Augustana, Darling Parade). The result is their new album Zodiac, a powerful alt-rock collection that melds influences ranging from Incubus to Halsey.

The band has amassed a significant touring resume, having opened for Theory of a Deadman^, The Pretty Reckless ^, Pop Evil , Adelitas Way * ^, Breaking Benjamin ^ and more. They have also performed at major festivals including the Vans Warped Tour, SXSW, Florida Music Festival, Sonorous Music Festival, Dewey Beach Music Conference and Celebrate Fairfax.

▪– United States ^ – International

Their touring has garnered them endorsements from PRS and Reverend Guitars, among others.

FTA’s goal is to have their music reach as many people as possible around the world and for their music to inspire and encourage listeners.

OCEANS - Music Video For New Single "If There's A God She Has Abandoned Us" Out + Pre-Save Digital EP Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part III: Clarity

earlier this year with Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part II: Longing, the band have proudly announced the third and final part of the series Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part III: Clarity which will be released on November 25th.

In addition, OCEANS will release Hell Is Where The Heart Is as a physical album on November 25th, comprising of the songs from the Hell Is Where The Heart Is EP series.

To coincide with the announcement, OCEANS have released a video for their brand new single called "If There Is A God She Has Abandoned Us".

Timo Rotten comments:
"No matter how positively you try to go through life, there are times when you just feel abandoned and left alone. It seems like everything is going down the drain, so how can one not lose hope in these times right now? Previous generations seemed to give no fucks about this world and now we’re left to pick up the shards. Some people just want to watch the world burn and I’m so fed up with all of this."

OCEANS have already left a lasting impression on their two released EPs this year. The third part of this EP series closes the circle and builds on the lyrics and messages of the predecessors, which are now finally brought together as a whole on the album Hell Is Where The Heart Is.

About:
Ever since their inception, up-and-coming German outfit OCEANS have dropped jaws everywhere they went. With a unique sound that sits somewhere between nu-metal, progressive, post, and death metal and putting mental health at the top of their agenda, the four-piece quickly became a known constant in today’s metal landscape. OCEANS have become known for their inclination towards innovation and experimentation within their genre; covering songs by the likes of Alessia Cara and collaborating with prominent musicians such as MACHINE HEAD’s Robb Flynn and CALIBAN’s Andy Dörner amongst others. Having released two EPs in 2019, their debut album in 2020, and another EP in 2021, the band featuring visionary mastermind Timo Rotten can easily be described as one of Europe’s hardest and fastest working bands in the genre. Enter 2022 and OCEANS have already proved that they’re set to continue on their upwards trajectory with their two latest offerings Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part I: Love and its follow-up Hell Is Where The Heart Is - Part II: Longing.

Nick Palma Releases New Single "Gravity"; New Album Due Out on Sept

Nick Palma released his new single "Gravity" to all major platforms! The single is from his first full length album Helix due out on September 16, 2022.

Nick Palma is an American guitarist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Through years of honing his craft, he has developed a style that infuses strong melody, heavy rhythms, and blazing shred guitar. Born in the suburbs of New York, he knew at the age of 10 that music was his passion. Some of his early influences include Slash, Synyster Gates, Dimebag Darrell, Steve Vai, Jimmy Pageand more.

Prior to his solo debut, Palma is best known for being the main songwriter and driving force behind the band Another Days Armor. Having formed the band in 2014 along with drummer Alec Keshishian, the band began to see success after years of hard work, perseverance, and learning how to navigate the music industry. After an abrupt hiatus of the band in 2020, he decided to push forward with a career in music, except without the constraints of others holding him back any longer.

Shortly after his decision to pursue a solo career, Palma took songs he had already written along with brand new ideas to write his first full length album with the help of Keshishian on drums. His main goal with his music is to make the listener feel the emotions rooted into the songs as they were written. "Music is a universal language and some of us who don't sing have just as much to say" says Nick.

FNTM Release New Single "IM NØT OKAY" feat.Telle Smith (THE WORD ALIVE) + Official Music Video

FNTM released their new single "IM NØT OKAY" feat.Telle Smith (THE WORD ALIVE) along with the official music video to all major platforms! The single was produced, mixed and mastered by Jeff Dunne (Ice Nine Kills/Wage War/Motionless In White).

Observation of the world around us shows us on a steady trajectory towards failure. We are consumed by religion, social media, depression, etc, and continue to idolize and put these toxic “leaders” on a pedestal.

“'IM NØT OKAY' is written as part of an over arching story we are telling, from the perspective of how technology/AI would be viewing our society and how it would feel seeing this huge intellectual mass tumble towards destruction, with a smile the whole way. It’s disappointing but somehow awe inspiring seeing how far we’ve come, and how far we will fall if we don’t fix it,” says the band.

Texas Rockers DIOSA Drop Music Video for New Single "Fire"

Hard rockers DIOSA are back with a new single and music video! The Houston-based band has partnered with New Noise Magazine to premiere the music video for, "Fire", which can be seen below.

Speaking about their new single with New Noise, the band comments:

“The meaning of our new song is simple and was written poetically by our vocalist 'this fire that burns in me; I won’t let it die until I’m 6ft down below.' Never quit on yourself, embrace the struggles that life throws at you and come out on top. No one can take that away from you.“

Stream "FIRE" Here!

About DIOSA:

Born from a series of eclectic tastes over time to form the sound they have today, the boys Justin (vocals, guitar), Tyler (bass), and Luis (guitar) knew from a young age that music was something they always wanted to pursue. While the band's rocky journey has been constantly tried and tested, DIOSA made those life-changing moments count by sharing them through their music.

DIOSA isn't the kind of band that serves to please others when it comes to shaping their sound. The band has a vast range of influences that span artists like Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Avenged Sevenfold, ZZ Top, Bad Religion, Blink 182, Danzig, Def Leppard, Volbeat, Alice In Chains, HIM, Velvet Revolver, STP, Bryan Adams, and Brian Setzer - to name a few. From these artists, the band drew inspiration from their wide-ranging tastes and molded them together within the realm of modern alternative with stabs of classic rock.

DIOSA Lineup:

Justin Vincent Estrada – Vocals, Guitar

Julian Cruz – Drums

Luis Torres – Lead Guitar

Tyler Rix – Bass

American-Irish artist Ronan Conroy presents 'Double Helix' from forthcoming album 'The Slow Death of the LoveMyth'

"Dreamy, brooding and ethereal with a DIY punk ethos... sonically haunting and otherworldly with dark fairy-land shimmer" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Brooklyn-based artist Ronan Conroy presents his new single 'Double Helix', an atmospheric track featuring captivating vocals by Julie Dicterow of Oh Halo. Lush with dark reverie, this is the first taster of his forthcoming album 'The Slow Death of the LoveMyth', beautifully complemented by a captivating video created by NYC-based artist Hypnodoll.

While Conroy is best known for his folk-flavoured indie rock, on this new album, he reveals his post-punk alter-ego, soaked in dream wave and goth richness. Drawing on the darker side of goth classics, select tracks on this album are crowned with ethereal female vocals. Apart from Julie Dicterow, who was a catalyst for Ronan to embark on this particular path, this record also features vocalists Shannon Brown and Susan Hwang of Lusterlit, and stellar drums by Justin Wierbonski (a.k.a. Demonic Drums).

"Where some of my songwriting has been more situational or distilled as expressions of particular events - universal human experiences like heartbreak, disappointment, betrayal, but driven by a need to process or express a particular chapter of my life - LoveMyth goes a step further in giving voice to the deeper underlying darkest fears that maybe aren’t always expressed, that are there as archetypal tendencies throughout many or all of the chapters of our lives," says Ronan Conroy.

"Maybe it’s fear of vulnerability, or discomfort with how raw, irrational or unacceptable some of our base preconceptions or pessimistic expectations can seem, that make them tougher subjects to explore musically."

Growing up in Dublin, Ireland with four strongly opinionated brothers and musician parents (his father played guitar and mandolin and his mother played guitar and tin whistle), Conroy was exposed to an array of musical influences, ranging from new wave and post-punk to David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Elvis and Abba. His world changed at 15 when his mother loaned him her nylon string guitar and taught him a few chords, instantaneously unlocking a whole new world of songwriting.

Years later, he would release two albums with Brooklyn's The Listeners and go on to perform with gothic dreampop band Oh Halo on guitar and backing vocals from 2011 to 2014, during which time he released one album with them.

Since 2013, Conroy immersed himself in the 'Lovemyth' project, this work culminating in 'The Slow Death Of The LoveMyth' LP, a collection influenced by the 80s/90s goth bands he grew up listening to, as well as ethereal darkwave bands he would be introduced to later.

As with all the music Conroy has released since 2013, this record was produced, engineered and mastered by Charlie Nieland at Capture Sound Studios. Frontman of Her Vanished Grace and Lusterlit, and a recognized solo artist in his own right, Nieland is a well-respected engineer and producer, known for his work with Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie and Scissors Sisters.

"Going deeper into my goth influences seemed to offer me a natural and more suitable sonic landscape for these topics, and channelling my love for seminal goth bands like The Cure, along with ethereal acts like Love Spirals Downwards, Autumn’s Grey Solace and All About Eve has been a special experience that I’ve laboured over for years. Each of the guest singers has elevated the project to new levels and surpassed even my own visions of how their voices could combine with the instrumentation," says Ronan Conroy.

As of August 30, 'Double Helix' will be available digitally via Spotify, Apple Music and all good digital music platforms. It will also be available as a single via Bandcamp or an instant-grat download there upon ordering the full album, which will be released on October 21.
