“Wade Bowen just released one of the best country albums of 2022” – Outsider

Renowned singer-songwriter Wade Bowen brought the music to Music City on Monday night, Aug. 15, with a special pop-up show to celebrate the release of his latest studio album, Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth, as the project available HERE continues to earn praise from fans and critics alike.

“I’ve got some stories to tell about why I wrote certain songs, but this one here has no story at all,” he shared to laughter from the enthusiastic Analog at Hutton Hotel audience, kicking off the evening with feel-good opener “Honky Tonk Roll.” “Some nights you just want to let go; let loose; let your drunk alter ego come out and have some fun – here we go!”

Bowen performed the full track list throughout the night, sharing anecdotes from the creative process along the way and remarking on the special opportunity to get to perform a full album live in its entirety.

“With this record the last couple years, I found a newfound energy but along with that I dove into ‘80s and ‘90s country, which I’ve always been such a fan of,” Bowen reflected when introducing “The Secret To This Town” midway through his set. “I started writing more along those lines and I think that’s where the production and everything came from on this record.”

Singer/songwriter Ray Fulcher then joined Bowen on stage for their cowrite “If You Don’t Miss Me,” while Clint Ingersoll also made an appearance during their cowrite “Knowing Me Like I Do,” both receiving excited applause from the engrossed audience.

“This is one of those moments in my career that I believe, when I look back, it might be one of my favorite things that I’ll ever do,” Bowen remarked while introducing his critically acclaimed Vince Gill duet off the album, “A Guitar, A Singer and A Song.” “I tried really hard with this song to show the good and the bad of what we do, and why we do it… At the end of the day, when I lay my head down, it’s just me, my guitar, the songs I write and the songs I sing. That’s really all it comes down to and no matter how long or short your career is, that’s what you’re gonna end up with. I thought to myself, ‘man, I hope that I do enough in my career, however long it may be – I hope I do enough where people don’t forget me.”

Today, Aug. 17, Bowen also debuted the official video for the musical homage to a life of song, recently praised by Billboard as “a stunning ode to the creative tug at the heart of singer-songwriters,” offering a striking tribute to the musical friends and heroes who, like Gill, inspire him to keep relentlessly pursuing the dream of music. Watch HERE.

As Monday’s full-album performance then came to a close with its thematic anchor of a title track, the show was only getting started. Bowen launched into a rapid-fire succession of fan-favorites – taking requests along the way – as he thrilled the crowd with a career spanning selection of songs, including medleys from his 2021 EP Where Phones Don’t Work to the grand finale of hits “Sun Shines on a Dreamer” and “Saturday Night.”

The show capped off a celebratory album release weekend for Bowen, who also appeared at the Country Music Hall of Fame for a songwriting session on Saturday before making his sixth appearance on the Grand Ole Opry stage that night. Bowen will continue to bring the new music to fans as his tour dates span the U.S. through the remainder of the year.

About Wade Bowen
Twenty years and some 4,000 shows into his career, the name Wade Bowen has become synonymous with authentic Country music – and for good reason. An artistic descendant of American icons like Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen and more, Bowen is a contemporary link in a Texan chain of roots-rock poets stretching back more than 50 years – yet his ambition never ended at the state line.

Seen as one of the genre’s finest and most genuine modern voices, Bowen’s approach stays rooted in tradition, but also stands on the creative cutting edge. His focus remains on writing unique songs with a literary quality and shifting his sonic territory to match his life, as evidenced by uplifting lead single “Everything Has Your Memory” and new release “A Guitar, A Singer and A Song” (featuring Vince Gill) off his latest album, Somewhere Between The Secret And The Truth, available now via Thirty Tigers.

Wielding a knack for direct, poetic songwriting that never panders, Bowen matches his gravel-road growl to an organic sound spanning the whole of Texas and beyond, tapping both country and rock influences. A dozen albums have shown his sonic diversity – including six studio sets, two live collections, a gospel album and an ongoing series of buddy-country hits with fellow Texan Randy Rogers. Along the way, he’s scored hits and accolades based on quality, not quantity, and continues to perform around 200 nationwide shows each year – including multiple appearances on the venerated Grand Ole Opry stage.

6TH CROWD 'Mamenika' single revives Ukrainian folk song to explore displaced persons and stolen childhood

"Some fun fine dynamic electro pop" Big Takeover Magazine

"Combines grooves from dance floors... melodic electro-pop.... obviously needed musical escapade"White Light / White Heat

"Blends a more clubland groove and euphoric rave sonics with the depth of alt-rock and the melodics of pop"Dancing About Architecture

"Captivation woven by Maksymova... a light of pride and echo of the spirit we have all seen in the Ukrainian people; a defiant stand in a time of atrocity" ~ Ringmaster Review

Ukrainian electronic producer 6TH CROWD (a.k.a. Dari Maksymova) presents her new single 'Mamenika', which is derived from an old Ukrainian folk song, but arranged differently by the artist. The accompanying video resulted from an artistic collaboration between Ukrainians who met each other thousands of miles from their home.

This song touches on the lives of refugees fleeing Russian aggression. According to UNICEF, about two-thirds of Ukraine's children have been uprooted by the war, essentially suspending their childhood. They nevertheless eagerly await their chance to return. Despite the dark situation and the heavy feeling that provoked this video, this video offers a seed of hope and the enormous faith Ukrainians hold onto as a nation.

"This song 'Mamenika' is based on an old folk song from Eastern Ukraine, the part of the country that is native for me. I learned this song from a recording of a vocal performance by elderly ladies from Zaporizhia Oblast, where the frontline currently is. “Prybyrajsia, mamienika” was a wedding song that young women would sing to a bride while preparing for her wedding. With faith and hope, they praised the bright future awaiting the bride," says Dari Maksymova.

"Hope and faith are the very threads creating a life jacket for the average Ukrainian now. The hope and faith of those long-gone Ukrainian ladies reached me here in the modern world, where Ukrainians are forced to wait for a bright future with nothing but hope and faith to guide them there. My hope is that by connecting these folk melodies and sounds to modern arrangements, I could connect the hope of our predecessors to their descendants and remind us about the brighter future hopefully awaiting us all."

Last year, 6TH CROWD released the single 'Sokolonko', inspired by an old Ukrainian harvest song, preceded by her 2020 debut 'Avoid The Void' EP. In 2021, she released the 'What Happened' EP via French label 50 Degrees North Recordings, following 2020 singles '1312' and 'Не вивожу (Ne Vyvozhu)'.

The DIY video for 'Mamenika' was a collaboration of Ukrainian refugees currently living in the small town of Cahersiveen in County Kerry, Ireland, where Maksymova runs an online English-language club for Ukrainians, which she started upon realizing how many people left the country with little-to-no exposure to English.

"Besides, I needed a way to connect with other Ukrainians here in Ireland. I needed my tribe. We are a small group, primarily of Ukrainian women who fled the country to protect their children. The more I got to know them, the more their eyes reflected the same thing that tortures me - the bitter shadow of war that you can't shake off, no matter how safe you are now and how cheerful the world around you may be. Seeking to articulate this feeling in a video, I spoke to one of my students – Alla Binieieva, a Ukrainian actress and writer, who fled Kyiv in February with her two children," says Maksymova.

"The idea resonated with her - she wrote the scenario, found actors and also played a role herself. Alla is the only professional actress here; everyone else, including the dog, are Ukrainian refugees we met here. My partner filmed this, while I served as director, producer and editor. Later on, my friend from Kyiv joined efforts, adding some post-production magic to this footage in between air-raid sirens."

As the music plays on, soldiers and volunteers are fighting with Russian occupiers to protect Ukraine's independence. Please consider supporting Ukraine any way you can. Donate to humanitarian missions and trusted charity foundations, spread awareness about this war, and listen to Ukrainian music.

All proceeds from Bandcamp sales will support humanitarian efforts via Vostok SOS, a grassroots organization that coordinates and provides humanitarian aid and psychological support to Ukrainians, helps people evacuate. Ukraine's 'Hospitallers' Medical Batallion and the Come Back Alive Foundation are two other recommended organizations very worthy of your support.

As of August 19, 'Mamenika' will be available everywhere online, including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Bandcamp.

MONARCH debuts with a special two-night event, beginning Sunday, Sept. 11, immediately following the FOX NFL doubleheader (8:00-9:00 PM ET, and simultaneously to all time zones). It then makes its time period premiere Tuesday, Sept. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following the Season Six debut of THE RESIDENT (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

In MONARCH, the Roman family is headed by the insanely talented, but tough-as-nails Queen of Country Music DOTTIE CANTRELL ROMAN (Sarandon) and her beloved husband, “Texas Truthteller” ALBIE ROMAN (Adkins). Dottie and Albie have created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown NICOLETTE "NICKY" ROMAN (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family's legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom.

Middle child LUKE ROMAN (Joshua Sasse, “Galavant”) is the CEO of the family's business, Monarch Entertainment. Luke is the apple of his mother's eye, but he has a troubled relationship with his father, whose approval he can never get, no matter how hard he tries. Youngest daughter GIGI TUCKER-ROMAN (singer/songwriter Beth Ditto, “On Becoming a God in Central Florida”) is very close to her older brother and sister, but in a family of superstars, Gigi has always felt like a bit of an outcast, in spite of her incredible singing voice. Gigi is married to KAYLA ROMAN-TUCKER (Meagan Holder, “Dave,” “Pitch”), a successful music manager who keeps turning down Luke’s offers to join forces with the family company. Outside business, Kayla’s relationships with the Romans reflect a complicated history, and a secret she is keeping could destroy her marriage to Gigi. ACE GRAYSON (Hollywood newcomer and Filipino recording artist Inigo Pascual) also is part of the family. He is a talented and sensitive 18-year-old who was adopted from an orphanage by Nicky and her husband, struggling British actor CLIVE GRAYSON (guest star Adam Croasdell, “Preacher,” “Reign”). Ace is a phenomenal singer with real swagger on stage, and dreams of being a country star like his Grandpa Albie. And just when the Romans’ world couldn’t get more chaotic, enter CATT PHOENIX (Martha Higareda, “Into The Dark: Culture Shock”), the stunning and unpredictable mother of 17-year-old ANA PHOENIX (Emma Milani, “Solve”), a talented, wide-eyed young singer who is trying to get signed to the Roman family’s record label.

MONARCH is 100% owned and produced by FOX Entertainment. Screenwriter Melissa London Hilfers serves as creator, writer and executive producer. Jon Harmon Feldman (“Designated Survivor”) serves as executive producer and showrunner. Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady (The Jackal Group), Michael Rauch (“Instinct,” “Royal Pains”) and top music manager Jason Owen (Sandbox Entertainment) also serve as executive producers. Jason Ensler (“The Passage”) directed the series premiere, on which he also served as an executive producer. The series will feature original music and covers.

International superstar Shania Twain is a five-time Grammy winner and one of music’s most renowned trailblazers. With five albums released and more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, Twain remains the top-selling female country pop artist of all time. Her hits include “Any Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “You’re Still the One” and “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!.” Twain was the first artist in history to release three consecutive Diamond-certified albums. Twain’s first album in 15 years, NOW, was released in September 2017 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums, making it the first female country release in more than three years to top the all-genre chart. Additionally, the album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country album charts and went to No. 1 in Canada, Australia and the U.K. The release was followed by a year-long sold-out NOW World Tour. Twain is currently performing at her second residency in Las Vegas, called “Let’s Go!.” The residency at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino kicked off with a sold-out run and continues through 2022. On July 26, Netflix released “Shania Twain: Not Just a Girl,” a brand-new, career-spanning documentary on Twain’s life and career with an accompanying highlights album. Twain, the Queen of Country Pop, will return with new music this year.

Multiple-Grammy nominee Martina McBride sold more than 23 million albums to date, which includes 20 Top 10 singles and six #1 hits. McBride has earned more than 15 major music awards, including four wins for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association, and three wins for Top Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. McBride has been awarded 14 Gold Records, nine Platinum honors, three Double Platinum Records, and two Triple Platinum Awards. McBride was awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s prestigious 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence. In 2019, McBride was honored with the x-apple-data-detectors://2 Icon Award at the ACM Honors, for her impactful contributions to country music. She has released two cookbooks – the first, “Around the Table,” a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice and themed décor inspiration, and her second book, “Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life,” in October 2018. In 2021, McBride unveiled her first exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The exhibit, titled “The Power of Her Voice,” was recently extended for an additonal year and will run through August 2023. In July of 2021, McBride released “Martina McBride – Greatest Hits: The RCA Years,” a double-LP vinyl package, with a color variant exclusively at Walmart. This fall, McBride will join Wynonna Judd on “The Judds: The Final Tour.” When McBride isn’t in the studio, she focuses her time on charitable causes dear to her heart through her Team Music Is Love charity initiative. McBride resides in Nashville with her husband, John, and their three daughters.

Grammy, ACM, CMA, AMA and Emmy Award-winning group Little Big Town – consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook – first entered the music scene over 20 years ago with hit songs “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone” and the Grammy-nominated “Little White Church.” The band’s breakthrough albums Tornado and Pain Killer, produced multiple #1 singles, including “Pontoon,” “Tornado” and “Day Drinking,” as well as the history-making, best-selling country single of 2015, “Girl Crush.” 2017’s The Breaker debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Charts and Top 10 (No. 4) on the Billboard 200 to critical acclaim. The album features their Grammy-winning, multi-week #1 single, “Better Man,” as well as the 2019 Grammy-nominated “When Someone Stops Loving You.” The band’s self-produced ninth studio album, Nightfall, was released January 2020 and hit the top of the Billboard Country Charts. The record included critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated “The Daughters,” “Over Drinking” and “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” - the latter of which has reached more than 362 million global streams. In April 2022, they released their new single, “Hell Yeah,” which has amassed more than 30 million global streams to date. Little Big Town has earned more than 45 award show nominations and has taken home nearly 20 awards, including multiple Grammy, AMA, People’s Choice, CMA and ACM Awards, in addition to an Emmy Award. Their highly anticipated 10th studio album, Mr. Sun, will arrive on September 16, 2022.

Edgy. Classic. Country. A defining voice of music and a modern-day legend, two-time 2020 Grammy winner Tanya Tucker continues to inspire artists today. Born in Seminole, TX, Tucker had her first country hit, the classic “Delta Dawn,” at the age of 13 in 1972. Since that auspicious beginning, she has become one of the most admired and influential artists in country music history, amassing 23 Top 40 albums and a stellar string of 56 Top 40 singles, ten of which reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country charts. Tucker’s indelible songs include some of country music’s biggest hits, such as the aforementioned “Delta Dawn,” “Soon,” “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane,” “It’s a Little Too Late,” “Trouble,” “Texas (When I Die),” “If It Don’t Come Easy” and “Strong Enough To Bend.” Tucker is also the recipient of numerous awards, including two CMAs, two ACMs and three CMT Awards. In 2020, Tucker received two Grammy Awards -- for Best Country Album: While I’m Livin’; and Best Country Song: “Bring My Flowers Now.” In the fall of 2020, Fantasy Records released Tanya Tucker – Live From The Troubadour on October 16, the one-year anniversary of Tucker’s historic, standing-room only set from which it originates. Tucker was in the midst of resurgent visibility and acclaim, generated by her Brandi Carlile- and Shooter Jennings-produced While I’m Livin’ album, released two months earlier – so the brief stand in front of the West Hollywood tastemaker crowd took on a palpable air of significance. As someone who’s been center stage for more than 50 years, Tucker is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the album directly to The Troubadour. The country icon’s signature tequila, Tanya Tucker’s Cosa Salvaje Tequila, is now available in 14 U.S. states and Canada, with additional stores carrying the spirit every day.

STONED JESUS Shares New Song, "CON"

Ukrainian sludge rock trio STONED JESUS is now releasing a brand new song, "CON!" The song and visualizer, which was created by the band, can be found below.

The single release is in conjunction with the band's massive upcoming performance in support of DIE TOTEN HOSEN, which will take place on August 20, 2022 at Airport Tempelhof in Berlin (DE). The 60,000 capacity venue is currently sold out!

Lead vocalist and guitarist Igor Sydorenko comments on the track: "'CON' is a pure experiment, a crossroad of many 'what if's' - what if we play a Motorik-type beat in some weird time signatures, what if every word in the lyrics starts with 'con-,' what if the song is constantly evolving despite its short runtime, etc. I'm really happy that trying all these things led to this absolutely brilliant result! Also the guys in the band not only embraced my ideas but also helped on other levels, too: Dmytro (drums) recorded and mixed the whole thing, and Sergii (bass) did the video. Enjoy!"

"CON" can be pre-saved HERE.

"CON" is taken from STONED JESUS' forthcoming psychedelic rock album, 'Fatherlight,' which will be released in 2023. The band previously released the first single, "Porcelain," which can be streamed HERE. Stay tuned for more details!

For frequent updates on the recordings and the band in general, check out STONED JESUS' Facebook or Instagram

Formed by Igor Sydorenko in Kyiv in 2009, STONED JESUS quickly progressed beyond their tongue-in-cheek moniker. The Ukrainian trio's second full length "Seven Thunders Road" converged doom, prog and grunge in their own recognizable way and the album's centrepiece, 13-min long "I'm the Mountain", boasts 15 million plays on YouTube.

STONED JESUS's next LP "The Harvest" sounded like a blend of MASTODON, PORCUPINE TREE and SOUNDGARDEN, and their charismatic live shows and relentless touring schedule helped to double and then triple their fanbase in mere months.

While being integral to the European psychedelic rock scene STONED JESUShelped popularize, creatively STONED JESUS never stopped pushing the envelope, taking influences for their newer material from such diverse acts like SWANS, THE CURE, KING CRIMSON and DEFTONES.

Line-up:
Lead-Vocals and Guitar: Igor Sydorenko
Bass and backing vocals: Sergii Sliusar

Pennies By The Pound present invigorating 'Burning Wish' single, channeling fab British prog rock

"Big and extravagant classic psychedelic rock.... this is brilliant music for here and now, wherever that may be" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A trippy ride that recalls the familiar vibes and sounds of none other than Bob Mould, The Church / Marty Willson-Piper, Marillion and Jethro Tull. Yes, all of them. Loads of flair and professionalism from the band" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Indeed a wonderful affair... Pennies By the Pound should be on everyone’s radar as a must-have album of 2021 and a band to watch in future" ~ The Record Stache

Finnish prog rock outfit Pennies By The Pound are back with their new single 'Burning Wish', an invigorating sonic offering and beautiful expression of optimism and adventure, channelled through the prism of fantastic British progressive rock. It will be released on June 8 via the Lilith label. This is the first taste of their sophomore album, expected later this year.

Once again, the band worked with Ride frontman Mark Gardener, who mastered the track at his OX4Sound Studio in Oxford, and top national producer Rauli 'Rake' Eskolin. With over a dozen No.1 records in Finland to his name in the past 20 years, he also produced, recorded and mixed their 2021 record 'Heat Death of the Universe'. Both the album and its singles - 'Indigo Screams' and 'The Waters'- were critically acclaimed.

Hailing from Helsinki, Pennies by the Pound was formed in 2016 by Johannes Susitaival as a solo project, but quickly expanded, involving musicians from his past bands. Their unique sound blends '80s prog rock and '90s-early '00s alternative rock. Heavily guitar-driven with a touch of keyboards, they love big choruses, guitar and keyboard solos, bridges and grandiose arrangements.

While still in a punk rock band, Johannes began exploring quite different musical avenues, which led to Pennies By The Pound's self-produced 'Bloodshed and the Blinding Sunlight' EP in 2018. Having found their ideal producer, they recorded demos in 2019, but only recorded their debut album in late 2020.

"Sometime last year, as it seemed that the pandemic would not be over anytime soon and it was apparent we wouldn't be able to focus on playing live shows for a while, we decided just to keep recording more music. Luckily, I had quite a lot of inspiration for new material and we started putting songs together in late summer, with Alexander Meaney joining in as an additional guitarist. Although it doesn't necessarily show in this particular song, I'd been immersing myself heavily in Genesis (both Gabriel and Collins eras), and that influenced the up and coming album - called 'Nothingside' - a lot," says Johannes Susitaival.

"This is a concept album through and through (both lyrically and musically), containing an abstract story and all that. Thus, it was really hard to decide on any one song to represent the whole, but 'Burning Wish' probably hits closest to the mark. It has got bits and pieces of both the lyrical and the musical theme of the album. It's also definitely a track that sounds a lot like what people probably would expect from us!"

As of June 8, 'Burning Wish' will be released across digital stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where you can also obtain the 'Heat Death of the Universe' LP directly from the artists themselves.

Manchester indie rock outfit WEIMAR present 'I Smashed The Looking Glass' from debut album 'Dancing On A Volcano'

"Endearing... With their mixed bag of genres, well-digested set of influences and unique eclectic sound, Weimar is one of the most intriguing bands to come from England’s northern capital as of late" ~ The Spill Magazine

“Emphatic execution of highly observant songs informed by life’s surreal and unnerving experiences... Guitars jangle, jolt and drive emotion in equal measure” Louder Than War

"Awesome... a side order of alternative artifice, artistry and Avant Garde with your pop-rock" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

“An eclectic smorgasbord of elements weaved together in an un-assimilative refreshing feat of ingenuity”AnR Factory

“Perhaps the most important band to come out of Manchester since Magazine”Aural Delights

"Highly intriguing... riveting nostalgic air but equally an instant surge of fresh endeavour and tempting" ~ Ringmaster Review

Manchester art-rock quartet Weimar present the single 'I Smashed The Looking Glass', a surreal upbeat rock number enhanced by psychedelic effects, exploring such themes of identity crisis and the interrelationship between the artist's true self and their public persona.

This is the latest taster from the band's debut album 'Dancing On a Volcano' - 12 tracks that were three years in the making, which take the listener on an unpredictable excursion through the socio-political and personal challenges of our modern age.

Weimar (pronounced Vy-marr) is a four-piece made up of vocalist/ guitarist / songwriter Aidan Cross (The Bacillus, Black Light Mutants), bassist John Armstrong (The Speed Of Sound), drummer Anthony ‘Eddy’ Edwards (The Deceased) and guitarist Stephen Sarsen (Frank Is Dead, Playground).

"Thematically, this song is a response to Kraftwerk's classic 'The Hall Of Mirrors', which explored how an artist's true self is distorted and eventually lost in the creation of an ideal persona. 'I Smashed The Looking Glass' is it's spiritual sequel, exploring the artist's escape from the trappings of such a persona, a significant challenge in an age of cult icons and social media performity," says frontman Aidan Cross.

Cynical and sardonic, but also optimistic and hopeful, this song features a special guest appearance from the legendary Loop-Aznavour of Adventures of Salvador(Weimar's German Shepherd Records labelmates) on theremin, enhancing the psychedelic effects that soundtrack the narrator's identity crisis and subsequent triumph over adversity.

Weimar recentluy previewed lead single 'Soho Rain' featuring Leeds artist Finola, dedicated to London's old seedy Soho district, its dying culture and the many artistic and cultural movements that emerged there. Other themes explored on this album include gentrification and cultural erosion, unsavoury characters masquerading as respectable public figures, the grit beneath the glamour, the contrast between polished façades and the decadence within.

Through a maelstrom of musical styles and influences, this album paints a brutal and honest picture of human nature and culture in the 2020s. Earlier this year, Weimar also released the 2-track single 'The Girls of LA' with B-side 'Transatlantic Confusion'.

Embracing post-punk to no wave, cabaret, psychedelia, alternative folk and gothic rock, all blended in a distinctive fusion, this album was produced by Adam Crossleyand Chris Guest of Vibratone Sound Studio. The cover art was created by acclaimed artist and writer Brian Gorman.

Since forming in 2016, Louder Than War named Weimar amongst its 50 Bands To Watch for 2019, the year they debuted the single 'John Doe / Curse the Songs', followed by 'Marvel To The State / Undesirable Master'. Having worked with legendary post-punk producer Simon ‘Ding’ Archer, they've also played with Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and goth legends Skeletal Family.

'Dancing On A Volcano' LP is out now, available everywhere digitally via German Shepherd Records, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. It was also released on CD and can be ordered directly from the artist.

Blake Shelton Releasing New Single and Video “No Body” This Friday, 8/19

Blake Shelton moved to Nashville in the 1990s to follow his country music dreams. With the release this week of his new single, “No Body,” Shelton once again feels like a teenager. “I get excited and feel like a kid every time we release new music,” said Shelton. “But this song in particular takes me back to the ‘90s when I was in high school and first moved to Nashville, because it feels like what the music sounded like at that time.”

Written by Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear, “No Body” tells the story of a guy who doesn’t want to be with “No Body” but the person he’s with. “The hook confused me the first time I heard it – I’m hoping it’s the same way for everyone else so they have to listen to it a bunch of times to figure it out!” laughed Shelton.”

Both the song and the official music video will be available on Friday, Aug. 19. Filmed in a country bar in the Los Angeles area, the video harkens back to that ‘90s era when country establishments were filled with patrons line dancing. The video is authentic to the time and finds Shelton wearing a cowboy hat on top of his infamous mullet.

In addition to the new music, Shelton, who is celebrating his 12th year as a Grand Ole Opry member, will return to the Opry stage in Nashville on Saturday, Sept. 10 for performances in both the early and late shows. Shelton will no doubt perform his new single as well as several of his 28 No. 1 singles.

About Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton continues to add to his impressive resume of music with the release of his latest single “No Body.” The song comes on the heels of his most recent album Body Language Deluxe which features his Platinum-selling 28th country radio chart-topper, “Happy Anywhere” (featuring Gwen Stefani). Prior to “Happy Anywhere,” Shelton and Stefani celebrated a 2x Platinum, multi-week No. 1 with “Nobody But You,” which is now approaching 500 million global streams. The single made its TV debut on the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, where Shelton was also nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for his hit “God’s Country.” The 4x Platinum smash earned the 2019 CMA Award and 2020 ACM Award for Single of the Year. As his award wins approach the hundreds, Shelton remains a force in the industry with ACM (5), AMA (3), CMA (10), CMT (11) and People’s Choice Awards (7), among many others.

As a coach for the Emmy Award-winning television show The Voice, Shelton is an eight-time champion, most recently with his contestant Cam Anthony. He and Carson Daly recently revealed that they would be teaming up to executive produce and star in a new celebrity game show, Barmageddon, to air on USA Network. The Grand Ole Opry member also remains focused on his Ole Red partnership with Ryman Hospitality, with locations currently in Tishomingo, Nashville, Gatlinburg and Orlando. A noted humanitarian, Shelton has helped raise millions of dollars for children’s hospitals, disaster relief organizations, food banks and more in his home state of Oklahoma and throughout the entire country.

isilmé Releases Official Music Video for Ethereal New Single, "In the Dark"!

Baltimore, MD based, Indie / Alternative duo isilmé has unveiled the visually stunning, official music video for their ethereal new single, "In the Dark." Directed by David Gregory and produced by Cineoteric Films, "In the Dark" was filmed in Isle of Skye, Scotland, featuring a breathtaking backdrop to the already emotionally striking musical composition.

The music video was shot in one day at four different locations in Isle of Skye, Scotland. The mist seen over the Loch in the opening and final shots of the video is actually not mist at all, but smoke. Neither isilmé nor the crew knew that controlled burning was scheduled on the island for that day - upping the drama of those shots.” - isilmé

Inspired by the Greek myth of moon goddess Selene and shepherd Endymion (along with our own relationship), ‘In The Dark’ is about two lovers’ separation and longing. Though daylight and consciousness may separate them, they will always have the night.

isilmé is indie / alternative husband-and-wife duo Eric McCullough and Jayne McCullough. Based in Baltimore, MD the project was founded in 2020 - the same year that the couple found each other. The duo combines ethereal and emotive vocals with intricate instrumental layers to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Thematically, isilmé is autobiographical, transparent, and introspective - taking on their collective and individual triumphs, struggles, and evolution.

"...original, folksy, melodious and meaningful" - U N Indie Folk Music

“a very emotive indie sound. . .beautiful melody and sincere vocals” Alfitude

" ... The whole affair had us drifting in a vat of melancholy. And this act do it very well, by means of being true to that romantic sadness - for each second is soaked in tears of loss and heartbreak ... This is introspection on a grand scale ... Mp3hugger

AMARANTHE - Release Cinematic Version Of "Strong" As New Single!

BUY / LISTEN TO 'STRONG (CINEMATIC VERSION)'

Swedish metal heroes AMARANTHE continue to showcase their versatility and eclectic musical taste. After having released a beautiful orchestral version of their power ballad "Crystalline" and a flamenco-tinged acoustic rendition of their banger "Adrenaline" they are now following up with a "cinematic" version of their hit single "Strong" on which - again - the heavy guitars make way for atmospheric synth layers and orchestral arrangements, giving the song a more laid-back and at the same time very enchanting theatrical feel. You can check out this new interpretation below.

AMARANTHE comment:
"One of the true high points of the MANIFEST sessions was creating the bonus tracks - after being incredibly happy with the final mix of the main album, we still had an influx of creative energy left in us. The cinematic version of 'Strong' was born from just such a momentum, as we wanted to display a totally different side of the song, as well are our own musical output. We truly hope that you will enjoy this different and very epic side of AMARANTHE!"

AMARANTHE have spent the last decade establishing themselves as a formidable, positive, and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014’s Massive Addictive and its immaculate follow-up Maximalism (2016), AMARANTHE has masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep, and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist Olof Mörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.

Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018’s hugely successful Helix: an album that pushed the band’s vision to new heights, breadths, and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalist, recent recruit Nils Molin.

Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, Manifest is simply the most daring, dynamic and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE have released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it’s a Technicolor celebration of metal’s ageless power, blazing with all of life’s colors and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

CLUTCH debut new single & video 'Slaughter Beach'

Acclaimed US groove rockers Clutch today share spirited new single, "Slaughter Beach". Chockfull of bluesy rock swagger, the brand new track is available from all streaming services now.

Discussing the track, frontman Neil Fallon confides,

"The lyrics for Slaughter Beach were inspired by a late night walk along the southern Delaware Bay. Odd things happen there.”

The official video for the track was directed by My Good Eye's David Brodsky and embraces the band's trademark story-telling skill. Watch it below.

The track is included on Clutch's upcoming thirteenth studio album - Sunrise On Slaughter Beach - a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity. Set for worldwide release on September 16th via Weathermaker, fans can pre-order now here.

New bangers like “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone),” “Nosferatu Madre,” “Skeletons On Mars,” “Jackhammer Our Names,” and “Mercy Brown” take their rightful place alongside Clutch classics. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach is the natural culmination of what Clutch began as teenagers in the early ‘90s.

Recorded at the The Magpie Cage Recording Studio, Baltimore, MD, the album was produced and mixed by Grammy nominated Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood, Pixies) with additional engineering by J Robbins (Jawbreaker, Against Me!, The Sword).

Sunrise On Slaughter Beach introduces some “firsts” into the Clutch canon: vibraphone (from Gaster), theremin (J. Robbins), and female backup vocals from singers Deborah Bond and Frenchie Davis. The album’s nine songs are a diverse ride, destined to please long-time fans and intrigue newcomers alike. It’s a new chapter in an ever-unfolding story which means as much to the fans as it does to the band.

Clutch have extensive tour plans to support the new album, including a set of US headline dates this Autumn. Joining them on that 26-date run will be Helmet and Quicksand who will be rotating the main support slot nightly and special guest JD Pinkus. ABOUT CLUTCH

Clutch shares more in common with The Grateful Dead, Rush, and the Allman Brothers than their heavy riffs and heady twists-of-phrase might suggest. Because like those bands, the supporters who adore Clutch are there for the experience, community, and authentic connection. To love Clutch is to feel a sense of ownership, membership, and belonging.

Seneca Valley High School classmates Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster(drums) share an unshakeable musical and personal bond now three decades strong. Shaped by the same region which birthed Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites Of Spring, Clutch crafts hyper-literate and libertine jams informed by hardcore fury and fuzzy, athletic, stoner rock.

“There’s no question that Clutch etched themselves a name in the pantheon of great rock bands,” Lambgoat wrote in 2004. Classic Rock counted 2013’s Earth Rocker and 2015’s Psychic Warfare among the 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s. Rolling Stone described 2018’s Book of Bad Decisions as “bathed in the grit and liberal fuzz tone that have made their live shows legendary.” The global accolades across their acclaimed catalogue are numerous.

Live shows over the years include tours with Slayer and System Of A Down and more recent co-headlining treks with Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage, and Mastodon. Like Slayer or Iron Maiden, Clutch outlasted rock bands anchored to “hit songs” and the pressure of replicating them. The foursome from Germantown, Maryland, isn’t bound by trends. Across thirteen studio albums and assorted releases since 1991, they’ve earned a reputation as one of the best around.

St. Louis Black Metal Unit STORMRULER Announce New Album, "Sacred Rites & Black Magick"

St. Louis Black Metal Frontrunners STORMRULER Announce New Album, Sacred Rites & Black Magick, out October 14, 2022

Pre-Order HERE

Hear Scorching First Single & Title Track "Sacred Rites & Black Magick"

St. Louis, MO black metal duo STORMRULER broke out in 2021 with the avid subterranean support of their debut full-length, Under A Burning Eclipse – subsequently garnering scores of acclaim upon its wide re-release via Napalm Records. The album, which Decibel Magazine called, “one of the best black metal albums of the year”, introduced STORMRULER’s beyond-their-years execution of raw, atmospheric black metal doused in extravagant lyricism.

On October 14, 2022, the band consisting of midwestern scene stalwarts Jason Asberry (vocals/guitars/bass) and Jesse Schobel (drums/vocals) return with the aptly-entitled Sacred Rites & Black Magick – this time blistering with more unrelenting intensity while maintaining a haunting, visceral aura more ancient and foreboding than ever. Produced, mixed and mastered by Gabe Usery at Encapsulated Studios and featuring stunning artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, Sacred Rites & Black Magick weaves epic tales of war, history, black magick and sorcery beyond the standard confines of black metal, birthing an unforgettable conceptual journey of legend that any metal fan would be remiss to ignore.

Today, fans can get a first taste of the album with its sharp debut single, title track "Sacred Rites & Black Magick". The track sets the supreme lyrical and musical mood of the album itself, depicting just how deftly STORMRULER conjures lucid black metal as they inject energetic, unforgettable grooves and riffs into their scorching delivery. Today's track release also arrives alongside its grim official music video.

STORMRULER says about "Sacred Rites & Black Magick":

"We chose Sacred Rites as our first offering for many reasons. We feel as if from the strike of the very first chord it gives off an apparent energy that can be felt throughout the entire album. Lyrically it encompasses the feeling of this record rather well with lyrics ripe of black magick rituals and ancient orders."

Watch the official video for "Sacred Rites & Black Magick"

As on Under A Burning Eclipse, between each song on Sacred Rites & Black Magick is an intricately positioned interlude building the ambiance and steering the thematic intensity of the album.

Beginning with echoing, clean dual acoustic guitars, introductory interlude “Hymns Of The Slumbering Race” begins the procession of grand ascension and hair raising riffage to come. “Internal Fulmination Of The Grand Deceivers” flashes STORMRULER’s brand of Imperial Black Metal Warfare, shining with heavy bass and blastbeats before cascading into icy atmosphere topped by smoke-cloaked vocals. Entrancing guitars match an ebb and flow of carefully paced interludes and merciless, speeding fury, showcasing standout leads and a blazing solo. Similar epic songwriting, lush lyricism and skillful dynamics can be witnessed on tracks such as the brooding “Entranced Within The Moon Presence”, intricate “In The Shaded Vlasian Forest” and introspective, glistening “Along The Appian Way”“To Bear The Twin Faces Of The Dragon” stages some of the most menacing sonic escapades and memorable leads of the 20-track offering, combining chants of sorcery with searing screams and waves of crushing melody, while tracks such as “Upon Frozen Shores” weave a sonic tale of occult doom atop triumphant soundscapes, breakneck rhythms and ghostly melodic passages. Closing battle opus “A Malice Dead & Cold” wraps the album with some of its most threatening riffs and heroic leads, fittingly drawing the curtain on the band’s sophomore excursion.

STORMRULER says about Sacred Rites & Black Magick:

"This album is on another level in comparison to our previous offering. It falls in the same vein of the melodic second wave black metal worship of Under The Burning Eclipse, but with a more intense and darker touch. It's got the high speed buzzsaw attack we love, crushing grooves, solid leads, ambience within the interludes and acoustic passages, as well as lyrics that tell a story."

Oceano’s ability to encode such transmission within the framework of tight, taught, and technical heavy music remains a key to their success since 2006. Over the years, the group has ignited a diehard fan base. Picking up where critically acclaimed 2015’s 'Ascendants' and 2017’s 'Revelation' left off, the band expands their patented deathcore punch with brutal heaviness and moments of unrelenting technicality and precision in their newest single, Mass Produced. Oceano utilizes thought-provoking lyricism that continues to elevate them within the landscape of heavy music, a key to their success over the past decade.

About Hootie & the Blowfish
With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish have sold over 25 million records worldwide to date after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994 with hits such as “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” The quartet met at the University of South Carolina where endless gigs at frat houses and local bars built a major local buzz. Their blend of pop, folk, blues, soul and rock made them hard to pigeonhole, but easily accessible to anyone who loved good music.

Atlantic Records, impressed by their regional draw, signed them and released Cracked Rear View in 1994. The album had been out for six months before the band played on the “Late Show with David Letterman” which sent sales skyrocketing, eventually landing at No. 1 on the Billboard chart the following spring. Cracked Rear View and the band went on to win two GRAMMY Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and multiple People's Choice Awards. Cracked Rear View also earned the band Billboard's Band of the Year Award in 1996 and the RIAA's Diamond Award for sales in excess of 10 million units. At 21x Platinum, Cracked Rear View remains among the Top 10 best-selling studio albums in music business history.

The band remained a top draw nationwide following their debut and released five more albums for Atlantic: Fairweather Johnson, Musical Chairs, Scattered, Smothered & Covered, Hootie & the Blowfish and The Best of Hootie & the Blowfish, as well as Looking For Lucky on their own Sneaky Long Records and LIVE in Charleston, The Homegrown Concert Event DVD and CD. The band took a break from full-time touring in 2007, reuniting annually for a variety of philanthropic events while also pursuing solo projects. 2019 marked the band's first full-time touring year in over a decade as they embarked on the sold-out Group Therapy Tour in support of Imperfect Circle, released in late 2019 under a new record deal with Universal Music Group’s Capitol Nashville.

Karamelien release debut single 'Ascension Heights', inspired by and featuring Yardbirds legend Top Topham

''One of the best singles so far in 2022, this is a true work of beauty and professionalism, taking you to your very own ascension heights" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

UK-based soulful indie pop duo Karamelien present their debut single 'Ascension Heights', a laid-back and groovy summer tune inspired by and featuring Top Topham's track of the same name. While technically a new project, this soaring perfect pop offering actually has a rich and touching backstory.

Based in East Grinstead, Karamelien is made up of singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido and guitarist Mark Foster - two long-time friends. The breezy heartened video, created by Eveshka Ghost, perfectly captures the elevated spirit of this song and its creators.

'Ascension Heights' samples the track of the same name by Léanie's father Top Topham, the original founding guitarist of The Yardbirds before Eric Claptonassumed his place. After all, while he may have been ahead of his years musically, he was actually just 15 and his parents wanted him to finish his Art studies. Topham would eventually sign to Mike Vernon's Blue Horizon record label as a solo artist. Much later, he also re-joined The Yardbirds for part of their 50th anniversary tour, which took place several years ago.

Produced by RIDE frontman Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound near Oxford, this song features an appearance by a special guest bassist - Mo Pleasure, formerly of Earth, Wind & Fire, whose CV also includes performances with Ray Charles, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, among others.

"I met Mark Foster in my twenties through a mutual friend, when he started to play my songs live with me. My first album's title 'Karamelien' was made up as an anagram of both of our names’. I also like it as an artist name, so decided to go with it as Mark and I are now back playing together again," says Léanie Kaleido.

"We took my quirky but melodic songwriting style and introduced a more bass and beats-driven sound á la Morcheeba, Portishead, Massive Attack, etc. I'm just focusing on having fun with my songs now and drawing on my influences from both indie and hip hop, but always influenced by classic songwriters. such as Elton John and Joan Armatrading,"

Indeed, this project brings Léanie Kaleido's music into new exciting territory. More firmly in singer-songwriter territory was her 2021 critically acclaimed album 'How To Weigh A Whale Without A Scale', also produced by Mark Gardener at OX4 Sound.

"Ascension Heights' is "a really moving Father / Daughter work of beauty. A total pleasure and honour to work on... A hot tune for the hot summer for sure," says Mark Gardener.

With guidance from Paul Statham (Dido, Simple Minds, Kylie Minogue, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Rachel Stevens, Natalie Imbruglia) in sampling her father's track, Kaleido performed the pre-production work on this song from home, saying this "was a great feeling and allowed me more room to experiment with hip-hop beats".

'Ascension Heights' is out now, available everywhere online, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.

The Persian Leaps previews 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget', lead track from October EP

"Silky fuzz and solid hooks echo The Smiths, Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub with great enthusiasm... celestial guitar jangle" NME Magazine

"A little bit of R.E.M., a little bit Lemonheads. A dash of The Smiths, a hint of The Replacements... all-reaching, down to earth, good American indie rock" ~ Spill Magazine

"Unpretentious and infectious... vast riffs, euphonious vocals and pop sensibility. captivatingly pleasurable blustery indie rock"Louder Than War

"Truncated treatises in big-guitar post-punk power-pop" The Big Takeover

"Huge riffs echoing through your speakers, melodious vocals and the sort of pop sensibility we’ve come to expect from bands like Nada Surf"Austin Town Hall

Midwestern power pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps have announced plans to release their new 'Machines for Living' EP in early October via Land Ski Records. The enthralling lead track 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' previews this latest collection.

The latest in a fruitful string of releases, this EP follows their widely acclaimed 'Drone Etiquette' album, released in late 2021, the Leaps dish out a fine new collection of 90s college rock-inspired compositions, their distinct sound built on a magnetic alternative rock foundation.

Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps surrounds principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg, who came up with the band's name in college while daydreaming through his Greek Archaeology class. Writing solo under that name for years, he finally assembled a band in 2012.

'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' is a cover with an interesting, personal story. "My uncle, Jon Asher, was lifelong best friends with the folk/rock superstar Dan Fogelberg until Dan passed away in 2007. In the mid-1960s, as teenagers, they had a band in Peoria, IL called The Coachmen. They were successful locally and opened up for touring bands like The Who and The Hollies. Their only recorded output was a 45 released on Ledger Records in 1967. 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' was the A-side. I listened to it often when I was growing up. It was inspiring to have an uncle who had released a record – it gave me hope that I could do it myself someday," says Drew Forsberg.

From their 2013 debut 'Praise Elephants' EP, which NME Magazine described as “celestial guitar jangle”, they released an EP every autumn until 2017. From their sophomore 'Drive Drive Delay' EP in 2014 to their fifth 'Bicycle Face' EP, their music has been widely praised. Delivering one perfect power pop cocktail after another, 2018 eventually brought their 18-track 'Pop That Goes Crunch' anthology.

That year, the Persian Leaps returned to their roots as a studio project, releasing the 'Electrical Living' LP in 2019 and the 'Smiling Lessons' EP in 2020 together with Jon Hunt, a musician and designer of the cover artwork for most of the band's releases to date.

On August 16, the 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget' single will be available on Bandcamp. and will also be offered as an instant gratification track when ordering the full 'Machines For Living' EP. As of October 7, this EP will also be released across online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

OPUS, Drummer of Dead By Wednesday & Owner of the Successful Indie Label Mindsnap Music has Released a New Book

Christian F. Lawrence, known as “Opus”, the drummer and back bone of Dead By Wednesday, who also plays & tours with David Ellefson, Hail the Horns, & Earth has released an autobiography about his crazy life. The book talks about touring, recording, hanging with celebrities, being a reality TV actor, and even a stint on MTV!

Read about all this, plus learn about some taboo branches on his family tree, as well as some unbelievable twists and turns life has thrown at him, in his first book break when I’m DEAD.

The title break when I’m DEAD was taken from a DBW song off their DOA album. The book was co-written by Doug Esper who worked with Chuck Mosley of Faith No More. It features interviews and intakes by Bumblefoot (ex-Guns n’ Roses), David Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth), Brian Fair of Shadows Fall, Eric AK from Flotsam & Jetsam and many more metal giants in the rock n roll industry. The cover photo was shot courtesy of music icon Michael Alago and then designed by Melody Myers.

The book was published by Scout Media, which was established in 2013 and is an independent publishing company for aspiring authors and musicians. They have put out books so far for Jesus Jones, Dog Fashion Disco, & more! Check them out here: http://www.scoutmediabooksmusic.com/

"Break when I’m DEAD chronicles Opus and his trials and tribulations through touring, recording, and writing music, as well as his stint as a reality show star and the journey of being a father through an uncertain era of politics and a pandemic. Journey along with Opus to discover some of his unusual life and personal events, as well as a shocking family tree," says Brian Paone (Scout Media).

"I’m super stoked on finally releasing my new book and ad author to my list of accomplishments. This has been a long process and in the works for a while so I’m glad it finally came into fruition. Everyone thinks they have an interesting life that should be in a book, well this is not just a stroke my own ego type book at all, I think a lot of people who read can not only relate, especially if you’re a musician but will be very surprised by some of the content. It’s always been a dream of mine to write a book and finally it’s done! I’d like to personally thank everyone involved who helped me make this a reality!" says Opus (drummer of DBW).

About Opus:

“Music is either in your blood, or it's not.” An adage by which Connecticut native Christian “Opus” Lawrence has become known for. From the first moment he heard the menacing and plodding rhythms of KISS's “God of Thunder” roar through his speakers, he knew he would dedicate his life to creating music. Immediately drawn to the hard intensity of the drums, Opus purchased his first kit when he was 11, using money he earned from a paper route. Influenced by such greats as Vinnie Paul, Dave Lombardo, Stuart Copeland, John Bohnam and Tommy Lee, he submerged himself in his art, and tasted his first success as a musician while playing in the alternative metal band, Violent Industry. While drums remained his first love, Opus wanted to conquer all aspects of songwriting, and taught himself guitar as he continued to play out as a drummer.

In 1997 he formed Gargantua Soul with singer Kris Keyes, and spent the next decade creating a cult following as the 7-piece nu-metal/hard rap-rock group produced 3 albums and toured the country. Gargantua Soul was the only unsigned band to play Woodstock '99, and they appeared on such shows as VH1's Farm Club, Howard Stern Show, and on ESPN to name a few.

After the band broke up in 2005, Opus went on to create the heavy metal band Dead by Wednesday with his cousins. His drumming evolved into a more aggressive style, though still holding onto the groove and finesse he had become celebrated for. His skills being sought after, Opus has acted as a hired touring drummer for Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo's solo project, and 80's platinum selling artists The Bullet Boys from LA.

Dead by Wednesday continues to conquer the metal world, having shared the stage with such legends as Shadow's Fall, Rage Against The Machine, Flotsam and Jetsam and Hatebreed. Throughout this melodic timeline, Opus always composed his own personal music using his guitar and vocals. Influenced by a vast style of musicians, including Alice in Chains, Cat Stevens and Pink Floyd, it is through his acoustic music that he is able to tap into a more emotional aspect of his craft.

In 2014, he decided to tread on a new waters and recorded his first solo acoustic CD, _Opus Unplugged_. He took his solo act on the road, incorporating his repertoire of cover songs. He soon played sold out shows opening for Zak Myers of Shinedown, Sevendust (unplugged), for both Scott Ian's (Anthrax) and Dave Ellefson's (Megadeth) spoken word tours, and toured nationally with Sean Danielson of Smile Empty Soul. This multi-talented artist has continuously searched for various outlets to express his creative nature, adding acting to his extensive resume, and has appeared on film and various cable reality shows. While he loves the energy he experiences from the crowd through playing the drums with his bandmates, his acoustic music allows him to connect with his fans on a new profound and intimate level.

TANKARD & FRIENDS - "Schwarz-Weiß wie Schnee" Out Now

May 18, 2022, gave Eintracht Frankfurt one of the greatest successes in the club's history, and from now on it will be remembered as a memorable day not only in the history books of all soccer lovers and romantics. The Germans manage the sensation and win the Europa League final against the Glasgow Rangers in Seville - all of soccer Germany stands on its head. But this is not only a sporting feat, the Frankfurt fan scene also creates a real highlight. The Germans have already drawn attention to themselves throughout the entire Europa League season - in a positive sense. The "home game" in the Camp Nou (Barcelona) was unforgettable. There were more than 30,000 Frankfurt Eintracht fans in the stadium. In Seville at the final, there were about 50,000 fans of the Hessians, although only about 10,000 were able to watch the game in the stadium. Madness!

And right in the middle: The guys from TANKARD, not least with their legendary performance at the extremely emotional Fanfest before said final.
It's no secret that the musicians (and the manager) of the band TANKARD are among the biggest Eintracht Frankfurt fans. Their club anthem "Schwarz-weiß wie Schnee" is played before every home game of the Bundesliga club and is sung along loudly by 50,000 throats.

Just in time for the release of the new EP, the band today also released the new music video, which was recorded at the big fan festival for the Europa League final on May 18, 2022 in Seville.

You can see the video below.
You can listen to the song here: https://tankard.bfan.link/schwarzweiss-wie-schnee

Gerre comments:
"After the complete Waldstadion in the last few years continuously sang 'We'll get the U-UEFA CUP' instead of "We'll get the DFB Cup" during the players' run-in during the refrain of 'Schwarz-weiß wie Schnee' (Black and white like snow), it was obvious to record a new version of our song with slightly changed lyrics at some point. Not least because of the incredible emotions at our performance at the Fan-Fest in Sevilla on 18.05.22 and the subsequent win of the Euroleague, we decided to put this into action now.
After I was allowed to perform 'Schwarz-Weiß wie Schnee' (Black and white like snow) live in different versions and music styles together with Roy Hammer & and the Pralinèes and Revolte Tanzbein, we had the idea to get these two bands on board for this EP. I think we more than succeeded in this genre-spanning experiment and we are more than grateful to both bands for their versions.
Without in any way diminishing the terrific performance of the current team: Jürgen Grabowski, however, was, is and will forever remain the greatest Eintracht player of all time. Not only was the Euro-League won for Eintracht's honorary captain, who sadly passed away far too early this year, but this EP is of course also dedicated to him! Therefore also the title: With the Jürgen! For Jürgen!
We would like to thank Eintracht-TV and our roadie Frank Schlund, who provided us with the footage from the fan festival in Seville to realize this video clip and to capture the unbelievable atmosphere forever! A day for eternity!"

Royal Coda Release New Album 'To Only A Few At First' via Rise Records/Blue Swan Records + Drop Official Music Video For "As We Fall Into Deep Waters"

Sacramento quintet Royal Coda have released their latest album, 'To Only A Few At First' via Rise Records/Blue Swan Records. In celebration of its release, the band have dropped the official music video for their latest single "As We Fall Into Deep Waters". Speaking on today's news, Sergio Medina shares:

This record feels very much like the time and place it was born out of. At the height of social, political, & civil unrest in 2020, the five of us spent 2 months straight writing and recording 'To Only A Few At First'. It’s a time capsule of angst, sadness, stress, happiness, and hope towards an uncertain future.

Will Swan also commented:

We worked really hard to push the limits of our sound on this album. I’m really proud of it.

Out Now! Hard Rock Band A-Z Release Self-Titled Debut Album and Video for “Stranded”

"...Packed full of infectious riffs and melodies, as well as the ingenious interplay of a rhythm section seldom heard in such direct music, this band delivers an absolutely, narcotic variation of a genre I'd previously met with great derision. Can't. Stop. Listening..."

-Sonic Perspectives

The debut album from A-Z is a fantastic & fresh sounding first effort from these seasoned professionals. Let’s hope there are many more to come!

-The Prog Report

A-Z, the new band formed by Fates Warning icons Ray Alder and Mark Zonder, has released their self-titled debut album today via Metal Blade Records. Additionally, fans can check out the new music video for "Stranded" below.

“This is Ray’s favorite song on the record. I love the dynamics and the powerful ending. Can’t wait to play it live,” says Mark Zonder of the track “Stranded”

The album can be streamed in its entirety at https://metalblade.com/a-z/

In early 2020, famed former drummer for Fates Warning and WarlordMark Zonder, began working on new material with the vision of beginning a new, full-time band that would offer something distinctly different from his previous work. The mission was to deliver straightforward, no-frills hard rock that speaks to a broader audience. The end result, which sees Zonder reunite with Fates Warning lead vocalist Ray Alder, along with bassist Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai, Warlord), guitarist Joop Wolters, and keyboardist Vivien Lalu, is A-Z!

ORDER HERE!

About A-Z:

When Mark Zonder, famed former Fates Warning and Warlord drummer, started working on material in early 2020 he had a very clear vision for the band he wanted to put together. “I was thinking beer commercials, car commercials, and Cobra Kai. I wanted to have a very accessible band that would appeal to the masses and would lead to the ability to tour larger venues and build a second and third record off the success of the first. I did not want to hear things like, ‘I don’t hear a single, it is too proggy, I just don’t get it, let me listen to it a few more times’. I knew from myself and the others that I would recruit, it would have some sophisticated music parts but the big hook was the main priority.” The result was A-Z, and while Zonder is adamant it is not a supergroup that is doing a ‘one and done’ record it has a stellar lineup, reuniting him with Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder, Warlord/Steve Vai/Ring of Fire bassist Philip Bynoe, guitarist Joop Wolters and keyboardist Vivien Lalu, the combination of these players stirring up a very specific kind of magic that could not be replicated.

Things came together smoothly from the start, Zonder sending drum patterns and grooves to first recruit Lalu, and he would write songs using guitar sounds so between the two of them they had basic song structures pretty quickly. Zonder knew Bynoe would jump on board as they have a long history and mutual respect and Lalu had worked with Wolters for years, recruiting him for the band. Both Wolters and Lalu brought in great musical ideas that were turned into songs. The goal was always the same: shorter songs and getting right to the chorus, no twelve-minute songs, and everyone found it easy working to this remit. With everything else coming together nicely, finding the right singer was the hardest aspect of the whole process.

“I had sent out a basic song to over 20 different singers, some popular named singers and some unknown, but completely struck out,” says Zonder. “Then I just decided to call Ray as I was not sure what he was up to. I figured it could not hurt to get in touch. I do remember speaking with him back in the day and him talking about how he loved this kind of music. I sent him a track or two and he just killed it.” Adds Alder, “I found this a chance to do something completely different than what I am used to, being in a prog metal band for 30 years. I find the blend of the 80s, 90s and a touch of 70s style of music very cool, and it is great to work with Mark after all of these years.” Thrilled to have him on board, Zonder did not have a list of demands. “My only words to him were ‘do whatever you want.’ I was not going to tell him what to do. Same for all of the others guys. Yes, there has to be some editing and making decisions, but when it came to the music I just wanted everyone to do what they do best.” The results are undeniable, from the high octane stomper “The Machine Gunner”, to the gorgeous sway of “Rise Again” or the towering “Stranded”, every track an anthem that sounds like only the biggest venues could contain them.

The band’s name came courtesy of Alder - A-Z = Alder thru Zonder - and it fit straight away. “What I liked is that it did not limit what someone would think of the band. If we named the band Scary Serpent it would give a certain direction and I did not want people to prejudge the band and record,” Zonder says. Likewise, self-titling the record made sense. “I did not want to give a direction idea to the audience. If we named the album Far Side of the Horizon, people would probably think ‘prog band’. But if you named it The Machine Gunner, it would give a totally different direction for thought.” For artwork, wanting to again get the best possible contributor, they turned to the famed Hugh Syme (Rush, Fates Warning), who delivered the vivid image of a zebra eating an apple, encompassing the band name in a sly way. “Again, hire the best people you can find and just let them do what they do. The artwork is absolutely fantastic and really fits the whole concept. He is truly the best. Just a great guy to work with.”

A-Z lineup:

Ray Alder - Lead and Backing Vocals

Philip Bynoe - Bass Guitar

Vivien Lalu - Keyboards

Joop Wolters - Guitars

Mark Zonder - Drums

ABOUT KREATOR
Decades into their game-changing career, German metal legends KREATOR find themselves more successful and influential than ever. They’ve stuck to their guns, weathered the trends, and outlasted their peers – never once wavering from the ferocious noise that excited them as teens. If anything, that thirst for sonic warfare is just as strong, if not stronger, today. Where others have suffered from creative malnourishment and artistic uncertainty, something which even metal’s biggest and best are prone to, Kreator has always charged full steam ahead – thanks to the red-eyed conviction and fearless determination of founding singer and guitarist Miland ‘Mille’ Petrozza. On 1985 debut Endless Pain, the Essen innovators created the template for extreme noise to come, fusing elements of thrash and black metal in ways that had never been heard before. Their sophomore album of the following year, Pleasure To Kill, became one of the landmark albums of 1986 – making metal history alongside key releases from METALLICA, SLAYER, and MEGADETH. And onwards they marched, bringing hellish anthems to the masses in every album that followed, with a track record few could ever rival.

The last decade has been a particularly exciting time for the group, with 2012’s Phantom Antichrist proving how they could embrace modern production techniques and move with the times without forsaking the underground spirit and defiance which made them a household name in the first place. Its successor, 2017’s Gods Of Violence, saw them topping the German charts for the very first time in their career, a feat virtually unheard of for a band of such thunderous intensity.

They returned this year with the fifteenth opus Hate Über Alles – which marked their first studio album with Frédéric Leclercq (ex-DRAGONFORCE, SINSAENUM) on bass, joining Mille, guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö and drummer Jürgen ‘Ventor’ Reil – the metal titans are once again channeling an unholy heaviness strong enough to tilt the earth off-axis.
