Speaking on the enormous success of SHIBORI THREADS, Leo Valeri shares

"Coming up in the metal scene, we noticed something missing when it came to creative and colorful band merchandise. Most rock artists just print on black shirts... which is kind of boring, considering the extremely lively and exciting music they often make.

Kyle and I have been active in the music industry and very tuned into streetwear and alternative fashion for a long time now, so we set out to create a brand that bridges the barrier between the edgy imagery you find in metal, and the robust palettes and high quality of today's streetwear trends.

When it all began, Shibori Threads was just a passion project run out of our apartments. We were literally printing labels and shipping everything on our own, by hand. We considered it a great way to work with and support some of our favorite artists during the pandemic while making apparel we would actually wear.

Less than a year later, it's completely blown up to the point where it's a household brand in the metal and rock world. We're now working on crossovers with artists and brands we wouldn't have even thought possible to collaborate with a year ago. It's the coolest thing in the world to see someone wearing one of our hoodies at a show, and the first question you hear them get asked is: `Is that a Shibori hoodie?'"

The new collection features 5 different designs

Shibori x Killswitch Engage Crystal Dye Crossover Hoodie

Shibori x August Burns Red Gradient Dye Crossover Hoodie

Shibori x Erra Gradient Dye Crossover Hoodie

Shibori x Crown The Empire Gradient Dye Crossover Hoodie

Shibori x Fit For A King Gradient Dye Crossover Hoodie

Each design is extremely limited with only 500 pieces available for a 1 week period starting today - Friday, October 29th, 2021. Fans should note that due to each item being hand-made, there is a production turn around of 6-8 weeks.

Since launching earlier this year, the brand have collaborated on previous drops with Dance Gavin Dance, The Deathcore Collection feat. Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, Thy Art Is Murder, Veil of Maya, Carnifex and Despised icon and their originalSlaughter to Sacrifice drop, a mash up of Brand Of Sacrifice and Slaughter To Prevail. With more exciting brand and band collabs on the way, SHIBORI THREADS are only just getting started. Follow the trail of dye—or get left behind

TOMBS Shares Samhain Cover Song to Celebrate Halloween

The veil is thin and Halloween is upon us. New York/New Jersey metal collective TOMBS is now sharing a cover of SAMHAIN's song "The Shift" to welcome in the holiday! Their version of the song can be heard below.

"The Shift can be streamed or downloaded from your favorite streaming service HERE.

For a double dose of Halloween spirit, check out TOMBS' previously released music video for "The Hunger," which pays homage to cinema's most infamous vampires! The song and video can be found HERE.

TOMBS' latest full-length, 'Under Sullen Skies' was released in November of 2020. The record has been named one of the best metal releases of 2020 by Metal Insider, Decibel Magazine, The Pit, Riff Magazine, Chicago Music Guide's Global Music Podcast, and others while drummer Justin Spaeth has been dubbed one of the best drummers of 2020 by Sick Drummer Magazine.

'Under Sullen Skies' can be streamed, downloaded, and ordered HERE.

There’s a line from Mike Hill’s audiobook/tour diary of ANODYNE’s 2004 European tour in which the gravel-throated frontman affirms, “I will always outwork you.” In that case, Hill was referring to an incident in Germany early on during a six-week long overseas jaunt with his previous band. In actuality, however, he could have been talking about any instance between when he first picked up a guitar as a teen and the present. Whether it’s his history dating back to previous bands OTIS, ANODYNE, KING GENERATOR or VERSOMA, his ongoing solo work in VASILEK, the more recent SCORPION THRONE project or his thirteen year reign as the driving force and nerve center of post-black metal institution TOMBS, hard work is second nature and nothing will keep the guitarist/vocalist from creative endeavor and expression. And it’s not just music in which his propulsive work ethic has gleaned results: Hill also is the CEO and roast master at Savage Gold Coffee (a labelling nod to TOMBS’ 2014 album of the same name), the host/producer/creator of the Everything Went Black podcast, host and producer of Gimme Radio’s Metal Matters flagship podcast, the creator and co-host of horror podcast Necromaniacs as well as a stalwart in the print and online journalism world covering music and MMA fighting. His is, has been and always will be a life steeped in dedication and with unassailable drive in the cross hairs. And despite the world being put on pause, Hill refuses to curtail his innate determination and ongoing tenacity with the result being TOMBS emerging with the next chapter in its impressive catalog and growing legacy: the band’s fifth full-length, 'Under Sullen Skies'.

“The week VERSOMA broke up in 2007, I started TOMBS,” he says, recalling how, characteristically, the band started before any dust was permitted to settle. “The initial rehearsals ended up being the bulk of material that showed up on the first [self-titled] EP. The intent from the beginning was to get back to playing music I wanted to hear and to not be so concerned with genre or satisfying anyone else’s desires. It was to do music on a personal level and be a reflection of the darkness I’ve felt throughout my life.”

Formed in the gritty corners of pre-gentrified Brooklyn, NY, TOMBS’ early mandate was steeped in the harshness and atonality of black metal but dosed with trace amounts of the varied influences and inspirations ingrained in Hill’s musical muscle memory by previous bands. “The canon of music TOMBS has created has spanned several different genres, but I’ve always had it my intent for there to always be a certain amount of violence and hardness lurking the background.”

Those early years delivered splits and singles, the highly revered 'Winter Hours' debut in 2009 and Decibel’s 2011 Album of the Year, 'Path of Totality'. Never one to sit still, 'Path of Totality' was followed by appreciable and impressive amounts of touring in accordance with the lauding afforded by critics and fans and the braying of foes, which only served as fuel for Hill’s perseverance. Savage Gold came three years later after which a restless Hill began nudging TOMBS’ black metal base into territories populated by gothic and death rock artists like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM and SISTERS OF MERCY as well as avant-garde purveyors Caspar Brotzmann and Live Skull while never forgetting – or being able to – scrape the grime of NYC from under his fingernails. The addition of a second guitar and live keyboards/samples brought a fuller sound and allowed noise sequences and soundscapes to be brought to the live show. It was around the time of 2016 'All Empires Fall' EP that TOMBS punctuated its iconoclastic spirit and thought process. Despite then-being part of the Relapse Records family, the band struck out with the intent of self-releasing the EP in order to retain as much independence as contractual obligations would allow – retaining the digital and publishing rights while eventually licensing the record back to Relapse. A one album stint in 2017 under the Metal Blade banner birthed 'The Grand Annihilation' into the world where TOMBS took broader and more daring steps into buffering black metal with morose melody, sullen death rock and classic METALLICA chugging. Following a parting from Metal Blade, the band – now completed by drummer Justin Spaeth, guitarist Matt Medeiros and bassist Drew Murphy, who are also 3/4ths of New Jersey death metal crew KALOPSIA - quickly found a home on Season of Mist and issued the 'Monarchy of Shadows' EP literally a week before the world went into Coronavirus lockdown.

“The original strategy assumed we would be on the road for most of 2020,” says Hill with a lamenting laugh. “We had a sick tour with Napalm Death planned right after the EP’s release. We were going to record the new full-length before the tour and have it come out in the fall. There was all kinds of tour talk and plans and 2020 would have been a tour-de-force of TOMBSactivity in the United States and Europe. Obviously, none of that is happening, but we’re still going ahead with the record.”

Of course they are. Throw a hurdle in front of Mike Hill and he’ll never shy at rolling up his sleeves and taking on the challenge. Even with the world in shutdown mode, Hill is still brimming with enthusiasm about the input and work ethic of the current TOMBS lineup and how Spaeth, Mederios and Murphy stepped up to the plate in the creation of 'Under Sullen Skies'.

“Everyone contributes on this record and the door has always been open for others to do so. There has always been this misconception that I’m some sort of tyrant always telling people what to do and play. The fact of the matter is that most of the time I outwork people; that’s just the way I am. No one is ever going to outwork me on any level in any area of my life and I was always coming up with material. Now, I have these maniacs in the band who are equally motivated and there’s a whole new life injected into TOMBS. That’s awesome and I love it. These days we’ll try anything and we actually write stuff and throw it out because it’s not perfect. It’s more like a writing committee, which I really appreciate. It’s not just me writing everything. It’s a big difference from 'The Grand Annihilation' which was basically a solo record.”

'Under Sullen Skies' is this lineup’s second kick at twisting black metal’s DNA around dank emotional corners, psychological turmoil and the urban underbelly all of which is unavoidably coloured and touched by the present-day status of life on this here Earth.

“The album’s title came during all this and the sort of post-apocalyptic world we’re living in,” Hill explains. “It encapsulates an overall feeling of gloom and depression which is pretty much how we’ve been living for most of this year. The title was the last piece to fall into place. I remember standing on the roof of the building I was living in at the time on a grey day and it was raining – actually, it wasn’t even raining; it was a half-assed attempt at rain! – and depressing and I just thought, ‘What a sullen sky’ and it just stuck with me.”

The album starts with “Bone Collector,” a furious blast of melodic black metal that shifts gears towards an anthemic fist-pumping slog through the goth rock-thrash metal VENN DIAGRAM. “Void Constellation” takes as many cues from Peaceville Three gloom and doom as it does the death metal stomp of OBITUARY and INCANTATION. “Descensum” mines the various well-worn parts of Ride the Lightning for influence before blasting the doors open with some startlingly spacious chromatic single-note atonality. As the album progresses, further textures and moods are employed via acoustic instrumentation and keyboards as well as sampled soundscapes all butting heads with furious second wave black metal and sly to nods to death rock heroes SISTERS OF MERCY and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, all of the band’s motivations and interests being dropped into the chameleonic pair of tracks closing the album, “Sombre Ruin” and the appropriately titled “Plague Years.”

“‘Barren’ stands out as the song that’s most collaborative,” notes Hill. “Justin wrote the bulk of the riffs on that one, that sort of NWOBHM/SCORPIONS ending part is something I came up with, Matt added a bunch of guitar harmonies over it and Drew’s bass is laid thick underneath. That one is one of the biggest group efforts and one of the strongest songs on the record.

“I explore a lot of the archetypes that are used in folklore on this record, like werewolves and vampires which I’ve always been interested in, and on a song like ‘Secrets of the Black Sun’ I talk about the finite nature of our time on this planet, that nothing is really permanent and being aware of that whether as an individual or as a civilization, which I guess fits in with the pandemic and the changes that are going on. There are all kinds of other people, civilizations and creatures that have come and gone long before us and if you think about it over a long enough time span, everyone’s life expectancy goes down to zero.”

The new album not only sees Hill expanding his creative and collaborative comfort zone by wholly embracing the offerings of his band mates, but he’s also let down the drawbridge to allow folks from beyond the immediate TOMBSfamily to include what he describes as “mad guest spots.”

“There’s Cat Cabral, who does the spoken word piece on ‘Angel of Darkness.’ She’s not a musician per se; she’s more from the occult and witchcraft world. I’ve been friends with her for a really long time and she’s a great resource for esoteric knowledge. She’s also an actress who has done plays and commercials and been in films, so I figured she’d be the perfect person to deliver dialogue in an emotionally deep way, and be good at taking direction. Ray Suhy from SIX FEET UNDER rips the guitar solo in ‘Barren’ and that solo is its own masterpiece, in my opinion. BLACK CROWN INITIATE and former TOMBS live guitarist Andy Thomas contributed a guitar solo in ‘Void Constellation.’ Todd Stern from PSYCROPTIC plays the solo in ‘Mortem.’ Sera Timms from IDES OF GEMINI and BLACK MATH HORSEMAN does guest vocals on ‘Secrets of the Black Sun.’ We’ve got INTEGRITY’s Dwid Hellion singing the chorus on ‘The Hunger’ and BLACK ANVIL’s Paul Delaney also doing a couple of verses on ‘Angel of Darkness.’ So, yeah, there are a bunch of people on there and it’s like a community effort which I enjoy. I like involving people I respect and having them be a part of the whole thing.”

After spending his entire adult life navigating the pitfalls and pratfalls of the industry for expressive and creative opportunity, Hill has amassed an impressive legacy, one that 'Under Sullen Skies' contributes to admirably and irreverently. Like most, the extreme music underground lifer and veteran is probably justified in approaching the future with very muted optimism, but while the world works at screwing its head back on straight, Hill is going to do what he wants to do as well as he possibly can. Uncertainty may reign at the moment, but Hill and TOMBS are still going to do their thing and will be content to please themselves in the process. If anyone else happens to be along for the ride, then welcome aboard.

“'Under Sullen Skies' is a dark and introspective album,” he asserts. “It’s not a happy record that anyone is going to use to get pumped up on a Friday night. We wanted to pull out the stops, go full-on and make a nice body of work. I could care less if anyone likes the band or not because I’ve been through so many ups and downs with this thing that I don’t give a fuck if people enjoy the music. I know I like it, I know the guys in the band like it and we’re just rocking and rolling. This record and the EP came out about as close as I could imagine to what I have in my brain about how this band should sound. The whole trajectory of the band has had each record never quite hitting, but 'Monarchy of Shadows' and 'Under Sullen Skies' have both really come out how I envisioned the songs to be.”

THE MOODY BLUES’ JOHN LODGE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘RIDE MY SEE-SAW’ TAKEN FROM HIS NEW LIVE ALBUM ‘THE ROYAL

THE MOODY BLUES’ JOHN LODGE
TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘RIDE MY SEE-SAW’
TAKEN FROM HIS NEW LIVE ALBUM
‘THE ROYAL AFFAIR AND AFTER’
ALSO FEATURING JON DAVISON OF YES
AVAILABLE TO STREAM AND DOWNLOAD FROM OCT 29

John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is to release a new version of his classic hit ‘Ride My See-Saw’ out on Keeping the Faith for Halesouth Ltd, distributed by BFD/The Orchard. The song also features Jon Davison of YES on backing vocals.

The song was recorded live in Las Vegas on ‘The Royal Affair Tour’, and appears on John’s new live album, ‘The Royal Affair and After’ due for release on December 3rd, and available now for pre-order here. This is the first single from the album, and Ultimate Classic Rock has premiered the video below.

"Ride My See-Saw" was written by Lodge, and was one of two singles from their In Search of the Lost Chord album released in 1967. Billboard described it at the time as a "blockbuster rocker" and a "mover from start to finish", and John’s new version continues to be that ‘rocker’ today! The song explores the idea of knowledge in a changing world, and ponders the question if perhaps what we are taught is not how things really are. Despite being 54 years old, the theme, and the sound, are as relevant today as they were back then.

In John’s words, “The song is really about growing up. You are taught things at school, and given ‘tools’, but then you grow up and go into the world. Then it’s up to you to discover for yourself what’s really happening. “’Ride My See-Saw’ is really about how life is full of highs and lows, you can’t ride the wave forever….and the secret to me is to find a balance to keep the glass half full… something I've thought about a lot over the last 18 months.”

“Ride My See-Saw” has long been known by fans as the finale at the Moodies shows, and each night during the ‘Royal Affair Tour’ Jon Davison would join John and his band on stage during this ‘encore’, adding his backing vocals to this rocking hit, arguably even more of a rocker than it was 54 years ago!

Davison has been the lead singer with YES since 2012, and has been friends with Lodge since they met on the ‘Cruise to the Edge’ in 2019.

Joining John on stage is his ’10,000 Light Years Band’; Alan Hewitt (Music Director and Keyboards), Billy Ashbaugh (Drums), Duffy King (Guitars) and Jason Charboneau (Cello). Together they capture the heart of this classic Moody Blues song, staying true to the original, whilst at the same time bringing a modern feel to it.

The video for the song was premiered by Ultimate Classic Rock here: https://ultimateclassicrock.com/john-lodge-ride-my-see-saw-video

THE ROYAL AFFAIR AND AFTER is to be released on DECEMBER 3 on CD and digital download. The limited edition vinyl will be released on JANUARY 28.

John Lodge is bass guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the iconic Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2018 inductees, The Moody Blues. Songwriter of such mega Moody Blues hits from “Ride My SeeSaw,” to “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band),” “Isn’t Life Strange?” and many more, Lodge has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling in excess of 70 million albums. Lodge has been voted one of the “10 most influential bass players on the planet,” and has been the recipient of many awards, including ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers), an Ivor Novello Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Prog Magazine, to name just a few. With the Moody Blues now no longer touring, John is passionate about “Keeping the Moody Blues Music Alive”, and John and his 10,000 Light Years Band provide a unique opportunity to continue to experience the magic of the Moody Blues. 2021 will see the release of his live album ‘The Royal Affair and After’ and touring is being planned for 2022.

Crown The Empire Drop Video For Their Heaviest Track To Date; "Dancing With The Dead"

CROWN THE EMPIRE

Drop Cinematic Video For Heaviest Track Of Their Career

"Dancing With The Dead"

Watch below| Stream Here

US Tour With Atreyu Kicks Off November 9th

Tickets & Info Here

Genre-bending, modern metallers, Crown The Empire, have released their heaviest track to date, today. The song, titled "Dancing With The Dead", is the band's first that features no clean vocals and instead features a furious, guttural exchange between vocalist Andy Leo and bassist/vocalist Hayden Tree. Accompanying the new track is a darkly cinematic music video, featuring a real life chess board where protagonist (Andy), has to physically overpower the seven deadly sins, to overthrow the clutches of the evil King (Hayden). Stream "Dancing With The Dead" here and watch the official music video here or by clicking the image below.

Speaking on their brutal new track, Andy Leo shares

"Dancing with the Dead” came about during the rock bottom phase of quarantine. I’d felt like my purpose had been taken, and I had fully melded into the idea of just letting myself rot. I thought that rock bottom had a definite end but it felt as if I could go as low as I’d let myself. There’s a mural of heaven we put up that covers my entire living room wall and I was thinking about the book “Paradise Lost” where Lucifer said something like “I’d rather rule in hell than serve in heaven” and knew that if I was doomed to be stuck in this loop then I may as well make the most of it. I was chasing after an idea of salvation that I could do nothing to reach so I decided to start building myself outward to make myself the king of the shit hole I had put myself in.”

Hayden Tree adds

"This is the heaviest song we’ve released to date. I remember sitting down and thinking to myself that as a band, we've never released a song with zero singing in it. As a musician in the rock world you can sometimes feel like you have to play it safe. These days artists seem to be fearful of stepping out of their comfort zone and doing something other than their norm or what’s trending. I didn’t want to play it safe anymore. At this point I was listening to a lot of hardcore/metal bands I grew up on which shaped the riff and energy on the track. I remember showing the song to the band and instantly Brandon thought it was too heavy and didn’t feel that it could make it onto an album. I fought him on it because I believed this song could be something special. He finally came around and helped me and Andy write all the lyrics. Once we finished the track, it turned into one of our band’s favorite and craziest songs we’ve ever released."

"Dancing With The Dead" follows previously released, stand-alone single "In Another Life" feat Courtney La Plante of Spiritbox. the track, which dropped in August of this year has clocked up 2.1 million worldwide streams and 732,000 YouTubeviews.

Crown The Empire will be hitting the road as Special Guests for Atreyu on their "Baptize Tour". Kicking off in Dallas, Texas on November 9th, the tour will continue through 26 further US cities, culminating in Santa Ana, California on December 16th. The band will also be playing a one-off Los Angeles show - "The Battle of Los Angeles" with Volumes and Slay Squad on December 19th at 1720. All tickets and VIP packages available here.

As the 21st century was born, so KREATOR underwent what was nothing less than a seismic creative rebirth. By this time, the iconic German band had released nine studio albums in the 1980s and '90s, which had established them as one of the most important metal names of these decades. In the first period, they had helped to shape and pioneer the thrash scene through such releases as Pleasure To Kill (1986), TerribleCertainty ('87), and Extreme Aggression ('89). During the following decade, the band had opened up exciting horizons of experimentation on albums like Coma Of Souls (1990), Renewal ('92), and Endorama ('99). Now, though, it was time to move into a fresh era, as vocalist/guitarist Mille Petrozza explains. “During the 1990s, we were definitely experimenting with what the band was doing. But (drummer) Ventor and I decided that for this album – our first of the new millennium – we wanted to go back to the sort of sound that we had at the start of KREATOR. In other words, to get back to the reason why we began the band in the first place.

There were some significant changes for this album, one being the fact that the band signed to SPV/Steamhammer. There was also a new guitarist introduced, as Sami Yli-Sirniö (who had made his reputation with Finnish band WALTARI) took over from Tommy Vetterli. The latter (also known as Tommy T. Baron) had joined in 1996 and played on the Oucast (1997) and Endorama albums.

As usual, it was Petrozza who did all the writing for the album.

The producer for this album was Andy Sneap, who was now making a name for himself as one of the pre-eminent masters of this art in the modern metal world. Pre-production was done in Essen at KKS Studios, before the band went to Area 51 Studios in Celle, near Hamburg where they recorded the drum and bass (handled by Christian Giesler).

The album title came from something Petrozza had read. “In a book, I came across a comment that John F. Kennedy said (in 1962). This was: 'Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.' I thought 'Violent Revolution' would make a good title for an album. So, I kept it in my mind for this record. I think 'Violent Revolution' is a title that makes a real impact."

For the cover, KREATOR turned to Andreas Marschall, who had done such a striking job on the 1990's Coma Of Souls album sleeve.

Violent Revolution was released in September 2001, and became the band's highest-charting album to that point in Germany, as it reached number 38. “We knew we had a good album, so in that way, it wasn't a surprise to see this do so well in the chart. But however good you might think your album is, you can never be certain how people will react to what you've done, and whether you can pick up new fans, as well as satisfy the older ones. So, I suppose there was an element of us being pleasantly surprised when we got into the Top 40 for the first time. But I have to give a lot of credit to our label. They knew exactly how to market and promote the album, and showed we had made the right choice in signing to them.”

Violent Revolution is without question an excellent album. While in some ways it does hark back to the glories of the band's earlier days, nonetheless it does not sound at all nostalgic. The performances and production values are very much part of the contemporary era, and the strength of the compositions themselves are of the highest values. Rising to the challenge offered by a new generation of ambitious metal bands, KREATOR proved they were far from being a spent force. Unlike so many of their peers, here was a band who still had so much creativity to offer, and were also clearly excited themselves by what they were doing. And when you hear the band themselves enjoying the entire process, then you know this is a bona fide revitalization.

“I feel this is one of our strongest albums,” says Petrozza with conviction. “We took what we'd done on 'Coma Of Souls' and 'Extreme Aggression' but this wasn't a case of repeating it. No, we added in modern metal elements to the sound as well. It was a new era for Kreator. A rebirth if you want to put it that way. And the start of what I would call our second career.”

Goth-pop duo, THE HAXANS - Ash Costello (New Years Day) and Matt Montgomery (Rob Zombie) - have today announced their "Halloween Haunt Spooktacular!", a 3-day livestream extravaganza from their residency at legendary SoCal Halloween locale Knott's Scary Farm. The livestream starts today and ends on Halloween (Sunday, October 31). Click here to purchase "Halloween Haunt Spooktacular!" livestream tickets at the Party Monster Store. Tickets for Knott's Scary Farm are available here.

Speaking on the livestream, Matt Montgomery commented:

"When we were putting the show together, we curated 4 special sets of “Fall music for Fall people”. Though we’re very much a band scented with pumpkin spice, some of our original songs transcend the seasons and have become a way of carrying little pieces of Halloween around with you all year long. We knew we would be with our spooky people at these residency shows, but we’ve made so many new fans that were there just to celebrate the season.

This live set consists of mostly originals, with a few defining covers. When Ash and I first got together we shared some of our favorite songs with each other, and that kind of mapped out our DNA. Being a spooky kid from Texas, I love Roky Erickson more than most people. So we do two of his songs here. Ash also told me her favorite Alice Cooper song was “Keepin’ Halloween Alive” which she had no idea I co-wrote with Alice. That song makes for a great set opener!

We built the Party Monster Club to bring our fans exclusive content like this show and to be a place to roll around in the vibe of the band. We build games around the esthetic and lore of The Haxans that are fun little ways of celebrating who we are as a spooky community. "

Ash Costello also shared:

“It's been a pleasure being able to perform at such an iconic Halloween event like Knott's Scary Farm this October. So much so that want to share this moment with our fans all around the world who couldn’t be here to enjoy the show in person and we can’t wait to let you guys in on all of the fun!”

THE HAXANS residency features as part of the Carnival De Grotesque on The Calico Mine stage with four 30 minute sets at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, and 11pm. Fans who wish to enjoy the band's residency in-person at Knott's Scary Farm can revel in the spine-tingling party anthems of THE HAXANS on the following dates:

October

Friday, 29th | Saturday, 30th | Sunday, 31st |

ABOUT THE HAXANS

A Goth-pop duo, decked out in creep kitsch high fashion, and named after a silent film from the twenties about a 15th-century German guide to hunting witches, THE HAXANS sound exactly like everything those images conjure. It’s the psycho-saccharine music of a fiendish creep’s fever dream… Classic art-house cinema, b-movie horror, spooky decadence, vintage American myth, and black roses dripping with blood are all tossed in THE HAXANS cauldron.

THE HAXANS are Ashley Costello, subcultural style icon and leader of Warped Tour screamo stars New Years Day, and Matt Montgomery, better known by his alias Piggy D., bassist for over a decade with multiplatinum shock rocker Rob Zombie, guitarist with horror punks Wednesday 13, and sometimes visual and musical collaborator with rock icon Alice Cooper.

THE HAXANS isn’t a side project. It’s the irrepressible, irresistible, and inevitable exorcism of the party-centric Halloween costume shop kicking around inside the brains and bodies of the group’s two coconspirators.

Those who spell magic with a “k” and vampire with a “y,” who invoke ancient spirits in pursuit of a superstitiously serendipitous good time – all denizens of darkness will find sanctuary in the warm boudoir-like atmosphere of THE HAXANS, both on record and on the stage.

ABOUT KNOTT'S SCARY FARM

Knott’s Scary Farm is the largest and most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, with unimaginable scares and innovative thrills that can’t be found anywhere else. The fully transformed theme park features uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, sinister shows, and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park.

These haunted attractions have the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare. But unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from -- which makes it the thing to do for Halloween.

Columbus, Ohio, Alt Rock band, AEIR, have signed on to Stephen Perkins' (Janes Addiction) label Perkins Palace Records. The band released their new single "SMOKE ‘EM IF YOU GOT ‘EM" to all major platforms today.

"I spent 18 months looking for the right band. The first time I heard the band I wanted to know their story and let the world hear their story and their music. I am excited to tell the world about the band" says Stephen Perkins.

“We wrote 'Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em' during the midst of the pandemic. The song is a take on the smoking guns of American politics; big pharma, the oil industries and big corporations, as well as the collective feeling of defeat experienced by a majority of Americans at the time. We shot the video with Paul Cunningham at the Ohio HD location, tracked it with Jacob Mooney and had it mastered with Mazen Murrat. All with the intent of capturing the angst of the climate at the time and also the raw energy of our live set. We are all super happy with its outcome,” says the band.

AEIR is made up of three local Columbus, Ohio, bands; Coya Hill, The Turbos and Personal Public . Before COVID-19 hit, the drummer and singer of The Turbos toured 160 self-booked shows in 2019. When the pandemic hit, The Turbos and friends Coya Hill and Personal Public came to an end, but the bands were still able to connect and form something great together. Even with the world facing so much uncertainty regarding the global outbreak, the newly formed group did not sit idly by but instead got straight to work. During the major lock-downs across the world the band wrote over 40+ songs. Out of the many songs they wrote, they decided on 8 of their favorites for an upcoming release in the future. Their new single "Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em" was tracked and mixed by Jakob Mooney and mastered by Mazen Murratat Katara Studios.

When talking about his label Stephen Perkins says, "Why now? I think with all my experience and hunger to help bands and artists grow, it is a perfect time to cross the bridge to plant the seeds for new artists. I am a label for artists! Artist first!"

The band is in the process of booking live shows in 2022.

COMEBACK KID - Announce New Album "Heavy Steps" Out January 21st + Title Track 'Heavy Steps' Out Today!

Announce New Album "Heavy Steps" Out January 21st PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE HERE

Title Track 'Heavy Steps' Out Today
LISTEN

COMEBACK KID On Tour This November With A WILHELM SCREAM & December With NO WARNING

Today one of the biggest names in modern hardcore COMEBACK KIDannounce their seventh studio album "Heavy Steps" which will be released on January 21, 2022, via Nuclear Blast worldwide (and New Damage Records in Canada). Alongside the album announcement, the influential punk rock heavyweights have unveiled the tone-setting dynamic title track and its humorously entertaining accompanying video. Stream "Heavy Steps" HERE and watch the video below.

Says lead vocalist Andrew Neufeld of the new single “I think of our new single 'Heavy Steps' as a bold statement of a riff right off the bat and lyrically coming from an unhinged perspective about tearing through life. Instinct over reason - without even realizing how easily our worlds could implode from under our feet. A bit of a "just test me" type sentiment is being echoed in this song.”

Picking up where the comedic mini-thriller video for their riff-heavy banger “No Easy Way Out” left off (spoiler; COMEBACK KID are chased in a forest and kidnapped) the video for 'Heavy Steps' which is also directed by Kevin Keegan kicks off with a mysterious masked individual walking towards a stage carrying a couple of guitars while eerie unnerving horror-esque score plays in the background. To everyone’s surprise and for pure comic relief it becomes clear that the band has been kidnapped by an over eager father in order to play his son Skip's 10th birthday party. Watch the video for 'Heavy Steps' below.

Heavy Steps, the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed full-length Outsider, sees the hardcore veterans returning to their roots both geographically and musically. Although the members of the band are currently residing on different sides of the country in Vancouver and Toronto, the band decided to write and record their latest effort in the band’s originating city of Winnipeg, Manitoba at Private Ear Recording Studio and once again enlisted the services of producer John Paul Peters (CANCER BATS, PROPAGANDHI) who recorded the band’s debut album Turn It Around. In addition to co-production by Peters, on "Heavy Steps", COMEBACK KID collaborated with prominent Grammy award-winning mixer and long-time fan of the band Will Putney (KNOCKED LOOSE, EVERY TIME I DIE). Featuring a guest appearance by GOJIRA’s Joe Duplantier, "Heavy Steps" is no longer a prerequisite to realizing COMEBACK KID’s influence on modern punk, but a delivery of pure anthemic chaos, sheer speed, and force. It is a statement of intent.

“It’s about hitting the ground running, not knowing when or where the ground could break from underneath you.” summarizes Neufeld. “It's heavy steps on thin ice. 'Heavy Steps' on hollow ground.”

Kicking off with the pummeling title track that features punishing bass lines, masterful drumming, sludgy guitar riffs, and an infectious singalong chorus, the 11 tracks that is "Heavy Steps" embody all the things that make COMEBACK KID so revered in their genre. It’s fast, fun, beautiful crafted melodic hardcore.

"Heavy Steps" will be available in the following formats:

  • CD Jewelcase incl. O-Card

  • White Vinyl (Retail)

  • Clear/Purple Marbled Vinyl (Mailorder & Selected Shops)

About COMEBACK KID

Over the last twenty years, COMEBACK KID has been hailed as one of the major counterparts when it has come to shaping and pioneering both the Canadian and international modern punk and hardcore sound and scene alike.
Having formed in Winnipeg, and breaking into the mainstream with 2005’s career-defining, Wake The Dead, COMEBACK KID broke boundaries and both literally and musically stormed across new terrains, projecting the once underground genre on a globally touring scale alongside the likes of then Victory Records label mates, EARTH CRISIS, TERROR and REFUSED.

“We’re a hardcore band, but we don’t feel like we belong to any particular sect of that,” states Neufeld alongside band members, Jeremy Hiebert (guitar, Figure Four), Stu Ross (guitar, Misery Signals), Chase Brenneman (bass, Living With Lions), and Loren Legare (drums, Living With Lions). “We don’t want to be limited in any sense and prefer to work on our own terms.”

Now with their seventh record on the horizon, the band are defining what it means to be both an integral, yet impressive units within both the foundation and edges of punk..

OCEANS - Release Music Video For New Digital Single "Sulfur"!

After releasing their digital EP "We Are Nøt Okay" in early 2021, rising German-Austrian nu-metal stars OCEANS unveil their brand-new digital single 'Sulfur' today via Nuclear Blast.

Following the fashion of their previous releases, "Sulfur" is both harsh and emotional, driven by heavy guitars, brutal drums, desperate screams, and eventually uplifting clean vocals. The single comes with a haunting music video, that you can watch below.

Timo Rotten comments: “'Sulfur' is a love song but in a very unconventional way. You know the situation: you and your loved one get into a serious fight, doors slamming and all. And then sometimes, things are being thrown at each other that shouldn’t have been said… words that sting like knives. This is where love burns like sulfur.”

Produced by the band with Xander Moser engineering at Tree Speak Recording Studio in Minneapolis and mixed by Jack Shirley (DEAFHEAVEN, BOSSE-DE-NAGE) at The Atomic Garden Recording Studios in Oakland, Self Loather is a sonic exercise in shadow, nuance, and, most of all, power. The band enlisted Zdzisław Beksiński to create the cover artwork which was licensed through the Muzeum Historyczne w Sanoku.

DESSIDERIUM Sign with The Artisan Era - Release New Single "Moon Lust Delirium"

DESSIDERIUM Sign With The Artisan Era!

New Album 'Aria' Coming December 10, 2021

LISTEN: New Single "Moon Lust Delirium"

Pacific Southwest Prog-Metal trailblazer DESSIDERIUM is pleased to announce that they've signed with The Artisan Era! The brainchild of Southern California native Alex Haddad, Dessiderium started out as a passion project for the multi-faceted artist, with the band's first two albums ('Life Was A Blur' & 'Rain Gates') being recorded and produced in his bedroom. However, the band's third LP, Shadow Burn, would establish it as a legitimate force within the underground metal scene - highlighting elements of melodic arrangements, hyper-aggressive death instrumentals, and emotionally vulnerable lyrical themes.

Today, Dessiderium has announced that their fourth full-length album, 'Aria', will see a December 10th, 2021 release on The Artisan Era. Wasting no time giving listeners their first taste of what will be the band's most unrelenting and ambitious effort to date, Haddadhas released the album's first single "Moon Lust Delirium". Fans can listen to the new track, which clocks in at over nine minutes, at the link below.

Speaking about signing with The Artisan Era, Haddad shares how the experience has been a perfect fit from the start, saying:

"Signing with The Artisan Era is a dream come true. When I first discovered the label back in 2018, I instantly felt a sense of belonging. Their entire roster of bands showcased a style that seemed directly tailored to what I enjoy about metal music. In 2019, I had the honor of joining forces with the label through Arkaik, and now in 2021, I have the honor of bringing my solo efforts to the family through Dessiderium. Beyond all of this, it is simply a pleasure to share such a high-quality label with many of my favorite bands in metal today."

Musically, 'Aria' marks a return to the long-form style of songwriting from Dessiderium. Songs weave in and out of acrobatic riffing, calming transitions, and dense walls of sound, all while forming a cohesive narrative. The story is told episodically, following the song-to-song evolution of a nameless protagonist who forms an ever-growing obsession with a reoccurring lucid dream figure named Aria. It is through this concept that the album explores broader themes of love, lust, infatuation, isolation, nostalgia, and death. Ultimately, through its music and words, Aria pays recognition to both the esoteric beauty and inevitable damage of living life through escapism.

About DESSIDERIUM:

Dessiderium is the musical diary of Alex Haddad, founded in Southern California, and remaining active in the Sonoran Desert. The first two albums, Life Was A Blur and Rain Gates, were quietly released bedroom recordings that demonstrated early promise in the progressive metal project’s distinctive take on metal. On its third release, Shadow Burn, Dessiderium established itself as an authentic presence in the underground metal scene, offering its blend of hyper-melodic, complex music, paired with a haunting sense of vulnerability through lyrical themes. With an ever-expanding body of work and plans for a live-performing lineup, the year 2021 marks the true beginning for Dessiderium.

OUT FRIDAY: TRAITRS 'Ghost and The Storm' single

TRAITRS present 'Ghost and The Storm' single ahead of new 'Horses In The Abattoir' album.
Full LP from the post-punk duo is due on Nov. 19 via Freakwave / Schubert Music

"A stunning offering... impeccable mélange of alternative dark pop and catchy goth-laced retro-futuristic soundscapes... among the fastest rising independent artists on the dark music scene" ~ The Spill Magazine

"A classic post-punk bassline into guitars that burn like a midnight frost, or the ember of a clove cigarette... surprising cinematic influences" ~ Post-Punk.com

"An otherwise fraught, near desperate theme inside a sonic structure that manages to simultaneously uplift... exemplifies what the fuss has always been about when it came to TRAITRS" ~ Stereo Embers Magazine

"These music mavericks create dark sonic greatness, with an element of hope furtively embedded therein" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Channeling pent-up frustration and manic creative energy... a real highlight for post-punk fans" ~ Sonic Seducer

"Impeccable from start to finish... dark and introspective" ~ CanadianBeats

As we approach the end of October, Canadian dark indie duo TRAITRS gift us another dark and wonderful track in 'Ghost and The Storm', the final single to be released ahead of their much-anticipated album 'Horses In The Abattoir'.

This new offering follows earlier singles 'Mouth Poisons', 'Oh, Ballerina'and 'Magdalene'. The rising post-punk / darkwave stars have been on a steady holding pattern of releasing powerful well-received singles since signing to Freakwave Records, a Berlin-based label that is part of the Schubert Music Europe group, with distribution by The Orchard.

'Ghost and The Storm' was one of the first songs they ever recorded with producer Josh Korody (F*cked Up, Japandroids, Dilly Dally, Beliefs, Nailbiter) at Candle Recording Studio, who worked with them on this new album before being mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Prince, Linkin Park, Katy Perry).

Based in Toronto, TRAITRS was formed in 2015 by Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker. With a cinematic blend of post-punk, goth, alternative and post-rock, their emotive melodies, propulsive rhythms, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics quickly led to the duo becoming one of the dark music scene's fastest rising independent artists.

“Ghost and the Storm’ is exactly that - a ghost of a track. A forgotten spirit from our past. It was too ahead of its time for us to even know what to do with it at the time we wrote it, so it remained in anonymity for several years. believing your entire life that when you die you’ll go somewhere better but the reality is you just return to nothing, nowhere. To sleep and never remember your dreams is equivalent to how we die," says Shawn Tucker.

Sean-Patrick Nolan elucidates, “The video pays homage to 'Rabbit In Your Headlights' by UNKLE, one of our all-time favourite songs and videos. It depicts the uneasy feeling of questioning your own sanity as it slowly slips away from you. We intentionally left it ambiguous as to who this troubled man is and what’s causing him to be so paranoid and erratic. We are our only connection to the outside world, so when the line between reality and fiction is gradually blurred and you start to feel ill at ease in our own mind and flesh, that’s a truly terrifying and isolating thing to experience. Vince Groulx did a great job of capturing that sense of foreboding paranoia while your emotions jump from one extreme to another. The human mind is more vulnerable and susceptible to these fluctuations than we realize."

Early demos, recorded with Josh Korody, led to TRAITRS' 2016 debut cassette 'Rites And Ritual' with Pleasence Records. After gaining traction in Europe and North America, TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed 'Butcher’s Coin' LP in 2018. Bolstered by lead single ‘Thin Flesh’, the duo embarked on several lengthy tours overseas, performing in over a dozen countries with showcases at Wave Gothik Treffen, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal.

Their relentless touring schedule and work ethic caught the attention of Thomas Thyssen and Eric Burton of Schubert Music Publishing and, in October 2020, they announced TRAITRS as the first signing to their brand-new record label Freakwave Records.

With the preceding limited 10’’ vinyl ‘The Sick, Tired And Ill’, which practically sold-out before its actual release, TRAITRS were able to triple their Spotify monthly listeners to >33k. In addition, lead single 'Magdalene' spent 5 consecutive weeks at #1 on the German Alternative Charts (DAC).

As of October 29, 'Ghost and The Storm' will be available everywhere digitally, including Spotify and Apple Music. On November 19, the full-length 'Horses In The Abattoir' LP will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally. It can be ordered at https://orcd.co/horsesintheabattoir

Black/Death Metal Veterans THULCANDRA Release New Single “Scarred Grandeur”

Black/Death Metal Veterans THULCANDRA Release New Single “Scarred Grandeur”

New Album, A Dying Wish, Out October 29, 2021 via Napalm Records | Pre-Order NOW!

On Tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in Autumn / Winter!

Death/black metal veterans THULCANDRA have frozen this autumn with their ice-cold riffing! Their brand new single “Scarred Grandeur”, out today, is a versatile tour de force that kicks off the final lap towards the release of A Dying Wish!

Scarred Grandeur” worships the glory of putrefying death as it promises clashing guitar play, epic mid-tempo moments, rapid outbursts and discreet acoustics in honor of traditional death metal defined by Unanimated, Dissection or Dismember. With this track, THULCANDRAhead directly into the eye of the storm, clearing the path for their upcoming, bone-chilling full-length, A Dying Wish.

Steffen Kummerer on “Scarred Grandeur”:

“Scarred Grandeur“ shows a rather pure and unpolished side of the band. You hear a real band performing relentless from front to end without any compromises. Filthy guitars, scruffy bass and nasty drums – listen to our new single and catch THULCANDRA at a show near you!”

Watch "Scarred Grandeur”

A Dying Wish will be released on October 29, 2021 via Napalm Records – once again carrying the burning torch of the glorious death metal era.

Since their foundation by Obscura mastermind Steffen Kummerer in 2003, THULCANDRA has become an indispensable protagonist in the European extreme metal-sphere that reaches way back to the magnificent origins of their genre. THULCANDRA are musically and visually shaped by bands like Entombed, Sacramentum and Unanimated, but mainly influenced by genre carving act Dissection.

A Dying Wish was produced at Unisound Studio by Dan Swanö, keeping the black flame of Jon Nödtveidt alive and worthy. A Dying Wish transports the listener right into an icy soundscape of a never ending, severe winter. With 10 blood-freezing tracks delivering clashing guitar riffs, epic slow moments driven by atmospheric acoustic guitars and rapid outbursts of dark and raspy screams, THULCANDRA creates another record that continues the great legacy of true death metal.

A Dying Wish guarantees instant frostbite just as the first glance at the thrilling icy-blue cover artwork promises. After the listener is buried under the opener’s avalanche, THULCANDRA spans a dark arc between acoustic interludes and harsh blackened death metal parts. The quiet interlude “In Bleak Misery” marches into “A Shining Abyss”, that guides its listeners like a torch through the night. Dramatic riffing and the screeching growls of Steffen Kummerer create dark and dense walls of sound as up-tempo tracks like “The Slivering Silver” and “Devouring Darkness” offer strong leads, driving riffs and engaging drums that let the storm rage on without mercy. The final, title track “A Dying Wish” provides a great finale that covers everyone and everything under a massive layer of cold, leaving the world behind in nothing but ice and snow.

THULCANDRA on the album:

“We return with an album full of eerie cold melodies, ice-cold vibes and an over the top production by Swedish legend Dan Swanö at Unisound Studios! Within the first album in 5 years we celebrate the essence of pure black & death metal, adorned with more twin guitars, blast beats and filthy arrangements than ever. We celebrate the release of A Dying Wishwith excessive shows and embark on a European tour to perform for all our loyal fans and supporters in the upcoming months.”

Symphonic Death Metal Powerhouse AEPHANEMER Releases Stunning New Video from Upcoming Album "A Dream Of Wilderness"

French Symphonic Melodic Death Metal Act AEPHANEMER Releases Stunning New Video From Upcoming Album

Watch the Music Video for "Antigone" below.

A Dream Of Wilderness out November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order HERE!

Toulouse-based symphonic melodic death metal powerhouse AEPHANEMER is currently gearing up for the release of their third and thunderous full-length studio album, entitled A Dream Of Wilderness. The record will be out November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Starting out as an unbelievably successful DIY ride that suddenly turned towards international acclaim, the indisputable AEPHANEMER is one of the most exciting melodic death metal sensations of the modern age. Fast-paced metal fronted by the guttural growls and fierce screams of extraordinary vocalist Marion Bascoul meet flickering twin leads, elements of Scandinavian death metal, Slavic traditional music and epic synths. If their latest, much-acclaimed Prokopton was a noteworthy, impressive sophomore album from one of Europe’s best up and coming melodic death metal bands yet, A Dream Of Wilderness sees the French four-piece doubling down on its songwriting skills: Faster, tighter and heavier, AEPHANEMER’s upcoming album unleashes an anthemic adventure of brutally fast riffage and epic melodies!

After the French four-piece just recently shared a first appetizer and single, the rousing track "Panta Rhei", today they've unleashed another killer song alongside a video clip! “Antigone” represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band – adding to the diverse blend that is A Dream Of Wilderness. Watch AEPHANEMER perform in the breathtaking setting of "Les Lapidiales", an abandoned quarry in France transformed into a magical place by talented sculptors.

Check out the breathtaking music video for “Antigone"

Guitarist Martin Hamiche comments:

"We're happy to share with you our new song and video: Antigone! It is extracted from our new album, A Dream of Wilderness, to be released on November 19, 2021 through Napalm Records. With this album, we reinforced the classical influence and symphonic component of our sound and we feel this song embodies that very well. We hope you will enjoy it!"

AEPHANEMER doesn’t seem to fear boundaries. Their new album delivers a wide metal range that represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band, while otherworldly dimensions of blast beats, furious riffage and heavy, razor-sharp death metal anthems will have you headbanging as fast as you can. Especially in this day and age of staying "true" and limited within a sound and scene, A Dream Of Wilderness is a welcome diversion and a brave record artfully blending brutally fast symphonic death and raw melodic metal into a multi-faceted epic!

BASTARÐUR Streams Entire New Album Ahead of Release

Crust punk outfit BASTARÐUR (ft. singer/guitarist Aðalbjörn "Addi" Tryggvason of Sólstafir) will be releasing their debut album, 'Satan's Loss of Son,' this Friday, October 29 via Season of Mist! The band is now streaming the album in its entirety ahead of its release! Listen to the full record below.

'Satan's Loss of Son' is now available for pre-orders HERE.

Singer/guitarist Aðalbjörn Tryggvason has always worn his vast musical influences on his sleeve. Be it an ENTOMBED sticker emblazoned on his guitar, queueing up Ennio Morricone before a set, or paying homage to Lemmy Kilmister with his cowboy sensibilities, it’s no secret that his love for music cannot be contained to any one genre. Now, Tryggvason is taking his adoration for crust punk to an exciting new level with his latest project, BASTARÐUR, which channels influences such as NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER, MOTÖRHEAD,and DISFEAR.

“The idea of writing death metal in the vein of old ENTOMBED came in 2018,” Tryggvason says on the project’s inception. “Not being able to channel my love for such music through my main band [SÓLSTAFIR], I began writing riffs, and riffs became songs, and all the sudden it had more crust punk elements than I had foreseen.” And yet, despite the apparent departure from SÓLSTAFIR’s sound, Tryggvason’s signature voice and brief moments of atmospheric texture color the record in familiar shades that ring true to his core musical identity.

The band was born during personal turmoil, a prime example of turning a negative situation into a positive opportunity. “Living with my parents after a relationship break up and being unemployed, I set up a small studio in my dad’s garage, and after a few months there was an album of material,” explains Tryggvason. “Me and my good mate Birgir Jónsson, most known for his work with Icelandic metal act DIMMA, had for years talked about making music together, and this seemed the perfect time, so we got ourselves into a studio with former SÓLSTAFIR live sound guy Jóhann and recorded the album in a few days.”

Tryggvason tapped several other co-conspirators to contribute towards his vision. Guest vocals are attributed to Marc Grewe (MORGOTH/INSIDIOUS DISEASE) and Alan Averill (PRIMORIDIAL), the latter of whom also penned the lyrics on two of the album’s tracks. Some of the blistering guitar solos were handled by Ragnar Zolberg, whom SÓLSTAFIR fans may know as he has filled in on bass for the band during occasional live shows, and Thrainn from SKÁLMÖLD. “I dare to call them Hanneman/King of Iceland,” Tryggvason says of the talented pair of axmen.

BASTARÐUR’s debut also takes a cue from Tryggvason’s distant musical past and rudimentary beginnings. “I used to be in a punk band called BÖLVUN, where I played drums,” he explains. “’Afturhalds Kommatittir’ is from that band, so we got Ingi Thor Pálsson and Flosi Þorgeirsson to play on that song. Flosi also does a bass solo on ‘Viral Tumor.’

Now, after three years in the making, BASTARÐUR is finally ready to make its debut via Season of Mist!

Style: Crust punk
