New Studio Album 'Tar a-Kan' Out May 15th

Brooklyn-based industrial outfit FELLAHIN FALL has released a new single from their upcoming studio album, 'Tar a-Kan'. Fans can check out the premiere of "A Fading Whisper" exclusively via Metal Sucks at the link found HERE. Born from the ashes of melodic death metal band Fin'amor, Fellahin Fall released their debut self-titled EP in November of 2019, with 'Tar a-Kan' primed to see a May 15th independent release.

Speaking about their new single, Fellahin Fall primary songwriter Nodar Khutortsov says, "You don't overcome the nostalgia of a period in your life until you are humiliated by reliving it. 'A Fading Whisper' is about the narrator's hope that his previous hubris is a lesson to be learned, rather than a moment to be yearned."

About FELLAHIN FALL

Founded by songwriter Nodar Khutortsov in the summer of 2018, Fellahin Fall was initially conceived of as a synth-centered darkwave project. Through many iterations of the music, the group would evolve into the the gothic-industrial band it is today. Patrick Reilly of Tengger Cavalry, drummer Eugene Bell and rhythm guitarist Raphael Pinsker of Fin’amor, and bassist Mark Morrill complete the lineup. Fellahin Fall's self-titled EP was released in November of 2019. The band's music is written from and influenced by the backdrop of South Brooklyn. Themes of dragons and Scandinavian forests are nowhere to be found here. Instead, contemporary urban thematics dominate the auditory landscape. The upcoming album 'Tar a-Kan' is narrated by and named after a man in the near future who is ravaged by the change of time, technology, and himself. Tar a-Kan struggles to come to terms with his ever evolving state and the crushing urbana that surrounds him.

CLOAK to Host Gimme Radio Special on May 4

Image 5-1-20 at 6.20 PM.JPG

Atlanta's CLOAK will be hosting a two-hour Gimme Radio special on Monday, May 4 at 1:00 P.M. EDT! The band will spin a playlist that they curated themselves and will be present in the chat for a live Q&A. You can sign up for FREE and tune in at THIS LOCATION. May the fourth be with you!

CLOAK will be supporting 2019's 'The Burning Dawn,' which was named one of the Best Albums of the year by Metal Insider (#6), A&P Reacts (#8), Treble Zine (#11), and others. The album can be streamed HERE ordered in various formats HERE.

Unyielding darkness and brutality emerge from the deep south of the United States.  Atlanta, GA based quartet CLOAK blend the sounds of black metal, rock ‘n’ roll, and homegrown Southern sludge to create their own unique and menacing sound.

Their debut full-length, 'To Venomous Depths,' (2017) was met with critical acclaim upon its release. Decibel Magazine placed it at #20 among their “Top 40 Albums of 2017,” solidifying the band’s place among the heavy metal elite. Now, CLOAK is back with 'The Burning Dawn,' a riff-heavy and groove-laden follow-up that proves the band are still rife with fresh ideas.

Conceptually, the record comes from a place below the surface where the sleepless and sinister dwell, and is absorbed by the darkest of dreams and the most primal desires. Musically, this exploration takes the gothic nuances of its predecessor while abandoning any hesitation in exchange for a more aggressive and vehement spirit.

While rippers like “On Poisoned Ground” and “Into the Storm” deliver a fury of soulful aggression, songs like “Lifeless Silence” and “The Fire, The Faith, The Void” offer a darker, gothic essence, ultimately displaying CLOAK’s multi-faceted and dynamic musical diversity. So, raise your fists and set fire to the world; this is 'The Burning Dawn.'

BLOODY HEELS NEW SINGLE & VIDEO, 'CRIMINAL MASTERMINDS' OUT TODAY

BLOODY HEELS ANNOUNCE FRONTIERS' DEBUT "IGNITE THE SKY"

OUT JULY 10, 202

Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce that Latvian hard rockers Bloody Heels will release their new album, "Ignite The Sky" on July 10, 2020. Today, the band has premiered the first single and video from the album, 'Criminal Masterminds'

Ignite the Sky” has some pretty heavy songs, but at the same time there’s plenty of melodic stuff, harmonies and big choruses. I like to call this album ‘Dark AOR’, haha! We managed to blend everything we love about music, to be honest. But one thing is for sure, we’ve never felt such a strong connection with the songs before,” says singer Vicky White of the upcoming album.

Regarding the first single, White continues, "'Criminal Masterminds' is definitely one of our heaviest songs to date. It was also one of the last songs we wrote for the album, just a month or so before we headed to the studio. Me and Harry were waiting on the other guys in our rehearsal room, messing around with some different guitar tunings and came up with the main riff. Then Gus and Gunn came and the rest is history. It's one of those songs that came together in just a couple of hours. We wanted to release this song as the first single because I think that it captures what Bloody Heels is about now. It's a bit heavier and more in your face, but still quite melodic, with a big chorus and lots of harmonies. It's quite different from anything what we've done before, but doesn't abandon who we are."

"We made the music video with Ivo Skanstins (director) and his team, which was a no-brainer as we'd done two videos together already that we were really happy with. He knows us well and we know him well. It was filmed in one day right before our European tour last October. A magical day for us, really. I also want to give a big thanks to all the people that were involved in the video and who volunteered their time and talent. We filmed the video outside in quite cold weather while the water was pouring on us was FREEZING. Luckily, we didn't got sick because we had to leave for tour 48 hours later," explains White.

Adds White, "I also want to say that of course we all know what's happening right now in the world. Hopefully we can cheer some people up with this song and video! We have to remember that we are all one in spirit and the only way we're gonna crawl out of this mess is together! Stay home, stay healthy, and keep up the positive vibes!"

Latvian hard rockers Bloody Heels recently joined the Frontiers label’s rapidly expanding pool of young talent and one listen to their debut album will easily explain why the label HAD to sign them up. With nods to the great ‘80s hard rock scene, but also bordering on heavy metal (listen to those kicks drums on first single ‘Criminal Masterminds’), this band is a delightful mix of catchy and driving. With a great whisky-soaked sounding throat, vocalist Vicky White provides the perfect voice for the thunder and lightning that guitarist Harry Rivers, bassist Gunn Everett, and drummer Gus Hawk are raining down upon us.

Formed in 2012 in Riga, Latvia, Bloody Heels have a musical style that could be best described as a sort of missing link between Crashdïet and Crazy Lixx, with heavier elements like early W.A.S.P. and Kissin’ Dynamite. The band have already made a name for themselves with the EP 'Summer Nights' (2014) and the album 'Through Mystery' (2017). They’ve played shows all around Europe including Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and the Baltic States

MAELSTROM Release Lyric Video for Single "Army From Ash"

From Debut Album 32 Years in the Making ,Out May 22nd

The New York-based group will independently release their debut album 'Of Gods And Men' on May 22nd 2020. After beginning the journey 32 years ago, this effort is a tribute to tenacity and the idea of never giving up on your dreams.

"The end result is one of the most event-filled, headphone-heaven heavy metal albums ever made, conceptual in the extreme from the artwork, down through the lyrics, through the soundtrack appointments and into a genre space wholly of the band’s own making.

-Martin Popoff

Pre-order "Of Gods And MenHERE

The story behind MaelstroM and their upcoming debut full-length is parts both uncommon and unbelievable. Forged in the late 80's from a friendship between lead vocalist Gary Vosganian and guitarist Joey Lodes, the band emerged from the Long Island scene and quickly began to gain notoriety on the national level. However, despite a pair of highly acclaimed early demos to their credit, MaelstroM would enter an indefinite hiatus in the 90's as the music industry further turned its attention away from the heavy metal renaissance of the 80's to the Seattle grunge movement.

Now, more than three decades later, MaelstroM have emerged from their untimely end; ready to unveil their debut LP, 'Of Gods And Men,' while leaving no stone unturned on the 69 minute, three-act epic. A journey that began some 32 years ago in a humble basement finally reaches its much needed culmination.

About MaelstroM

Formed in the ferocious firestorm of the eighties thrash movement, MaelstroM began its

storm surge by quickly dominating their local scene of Long Island, New York. Within a

few years they expanded beyond regional borders and began to gain worldwide

notoriety. Unfortunately, like many bands of that era, MaelstroM fell victim to the

changing scene as harder metal gave way to Seattle grunge and the landscape of

heavy music shifted.

Not satisfied with the way things ended with MaelstroM’s legacy, vocalist and lyricist

Gary Vosganian and main song writer and guitarist Joey Lodes set out to finish the

vision they had left incomplete all those years ago. Finally, after multiple fits and

starts, hurdles and heartaches, the pair has realized their dream with the worldwide

release of their debut album 'Of Gods And Men'. A journey that began, humbly, as a few

kids in a basement, some 32 years ago.

'Of Gods and Men' is rooted in the sounds and themes of MaelstroM’s eponymous 1989

debut demo and 1991’s acclaimed, This Battle to Make HistoryYet History Never

Comes. It represents a further step in the band’s evolution beyond their superlative

2008 EP It Was Predestined, which charted CMJ Top 20 as an independent and was

recognized on Terrorizer Magazine’s coveted annual ranking of “best unsigned bands”.

'Of Gods And Men' delivers a 69 minute album of such complexity and decades-intense

planning, that it can hardly be considered simply a collective of ten songs.

“There was always a very cinematic pageantry to what we were looking to do,”

continues Gary. “The idea was to create a cinematic vision, more than simply individual

songs. It is meant to be a whole piece, conceptual in all aspects and truly an album,

which we consider to be ‘an abandoned art’ these days”.

#SAINTASONIAHAPPYHOUR HAPPENS EVERY FRIDAY

As a way to continue to perform live for their fans during the current quarantine conditions, Saint Asonia have announced a "virtual tour" where the band will perform on the the different social media platforms of rock radio stations around the country. The band will add a local flavor to each performance.

Saint Asonia just dropped their new single "Blind."

"It's been really important to myself and the band to do everything we can to try and stay connected with fans, and with the people who play our music," says singer Adam Gontier. "We wouldn't be where we are without the amazing love and support rock radio has shown us over the years. We ended up having this really unique opportunity to play live acoustic shows for a number of stations throughout the month of May, and we're really excited to do it. During this strange and somewhat disappointing period in time, it's the least we can do. We're stoked to do a virtual tour, and play some shows for all of the people who support us."

He continues, "It also gives us a chance to introduce our new single 'Blind' to people. It's a song about pushing through to the end, no matter how tough it gets. It's a strong sentiment, considering what the world is going through."

Saint Asonia continue to hold #SaintAsoniaHappyHour sessions every Friday night, which are all about the talk, the tunes, and the connection with fans.

Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, released their sophomore effort Flawed Design in fall 2019 via Spinefarm Records. The single "The Hunted," featuring Godsmack's Sully Erna, was a Top 10 radio smash.

TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN SHARE VIDEO FOR "OUT THERE"

NEW ALBUM TRUTH & LIES OUT NOW

Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown have shared the video for the powerful song "Out There," which takes on an entirely new meaning amid today's climate.

Making sense of loss is not an easy task," says the band's namesake guitarist. "Sometimes, it's just impossible. Songwriting has always been my way of tumbling through the feelings I struggle to make sense of. 'Out There' has taken on different meanings for me personally over time. Given the current circumstances, this song feels heavier to me than it ever has. I can only imagine what so many people are dealing with right now. There was a lot of love put into this song and I hope every bit of that is transferred and felt by anyone out there who needs it right now."

The track appears on the band's latest album Truth & Lies — out now via Snakefarm Records.

(0) Releases Impactful Music Video for “Sortfugl”

Debut Album SkamHan Out Today | Buy HERE!

The best-kept secret of the Danish underground -

A hallucinating Progressive Black Metal offering

To coincide with today’s album release date, Danish progressive black metal enigma (0) has just released their newest single, Sortfugl, accompanied by a music video inspired by overcoming isolation. The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the music scene and artists around the world, so (0) was inspired to send a message to all who are united by the same circumstances with their new video.

Heavy riffs and dark shimmering melodies pull the listener straight into the signature (0)atmosphere. Brightened by sanguine interludes, dark growls paired with infernal drumming lead into exhilarating spheres. The third single integrates itself perfectly in (0)’s newly released first full length album SkamHan, shivering between oppression and nothingness.

The band states:

“The album SkamHan is for us the natural sequel to the (0) EP which came out almost 3 years ago. We have been looking forward to releasing the album and although it does happen in circumstances we could never have imagined in any way, we are happy to share the music with you. We do so in the humble awareness that the world faces a huge challenge and that large parts of humanity are exposed to conditions that we unfortunately do not know the final consequences of. But one of the things that binds us together is music. SkamHandeals with issues such as depression, desperation, isolation, separation and shame. Occasionally one has to dig into the darkness and accept that life is also dark. Enjoy the darkness!

With many greetings and hope for all good”

(0) - MA, FJ, MC, JK and JU

In rousing dark euphoria, (0) lifts the veil for their debut album SkamHan, a lucid dream wrapped in growling dark melancholia. Seven explosive and oppressive tracks presented in a frenzied mania blossom into a hallucinating mixture of black, drone and post metal spiced with intense sludge and progressive influences. The opening track, “Tyndere End Hud”, infatuates with intoxicating riffs and forceful growls, drawing its listener into the dark vortex. Pain and gloomy nothingness dominate the luminous expanse of SkamHan and symbolize the extreme soundscapes in an opus of darkness. The eponymous track crucially grows to a cathartic vibrating atmosphere and ruptures in energetic parts due to the agonized, bloodcurdling growls. The atmospheric expansiveness of the final track, “Alle Renses”, reminds that the routes of (0) remain labyrinthine. The elusive quintet bites the ear of the listener and drips with blackened obscurity.

Ministry Issues “Alert Level” Explosive New Track & Lyric Video Is Anthem For Current Times

First New Material From Mastermind Al Jourgensen

Since 2018’s Critically Acclaimed Album “AmeriKKKant”

Fans Are Asked To Make Videos Answering

Song’s Central Message “How Concerned Are You?”

Hear Al Jourgensen Discuss Song & More On Bill Burr’s

“Monday Morning Podcast”

Band Remains In #StudioQuarantine Working On 15th Studio Album

For Nuclear Blast Records; More Details To Be Announced

With a new election on the horizon and America still on the brink, Ministry’s Al Jourgensen has re-entered the studio to create his missives that will become material for a to-be-announced new album on Nuclear Blast Records. The first taste comes today with the bold new track “Alert Level” accompanied by a provocative lyric video, created by Agent Ogden.

The song is the first new material from Jourgensen in two years and has a timely message as America—and the global population—faces epidemics, environmental crises, political corruption and one of the biggest elections of our lifetime. Regarding “Alert Level,” Jourgensen says, “We finished the song in January and it sounded great during rehearsals for our Australia/Japan tour dates, before we went into quarantine. The original plan was to finish the new record before the July ‘Industrial Strength’ US tour so we could have an Election Day release, but in lieu of the circumstances—and how relevant the song feels for these bizarre times—we decided to release ‘Alert Level’ now. Considering that this song features the question ‘How concerned are you?’ I’ll be interested to see how folks answer it themselves.”

Hear Jourgensen discuss more about “Alert Level” on Bill Burr’s latest episode of his “Monday Morning Podcast”: https://billburr.com/monday-morning-podcast-4-20-20/

With the release of “Alert Level,” fans are asked to be a part of the larger conversation by answering the question posed by the song’s central message, How concerned are you?” Fans should upload videos, 30 seconds or less, to their social media profiles with the hashtag #MinistryAlertLevelAll the members of Ministry will be watching from home and selecting the videos most meaningful to them, which will be later shared.

Ministry also encourages fans to voice their concerns by voting in the upcoming 2020 elections and has partnered with Head Count to help voters to become registered in time. More info can be found here: http://ministryband.com/vote

“Alert Level” will be included on Ministry’s upcoming 15th full-length release and the follow-up to the acclaimed 2018 record, “AmeriKKKant,” which was a return to form for the industrial juggernaut and garnered international tour dates, a collaboration with Wax Trax! and a support slot on Slayer’s final tour.

About Ministry

Born in 1981 in Chicago, Ministry has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. Ministry’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathy in 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did Ministry, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch(1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry hit an all time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. After an indefinite hiatus in 2013, Ministry’s latest album, 2018’s AmeriKKKant, continues to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. With the latest lineup featuring Sin Quirin and Cesar Soto on guitars, John Bechdel (Killing Joke) on keys, London May (Samhain) on drums and Paul D’Amour (Tool) on bass, Ministry continues touring and recording in 2020 with new music and a few more surprises planned.

CARACH ANGREN Unveil Hellish New Single, "Der Vampir von Nurnberg"

Symphonic metal masters of horror CARACH ANGREN have unveiled the second new single from their upcoming 6(66)th full-length, 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus!' The brand new song, "Der Vampir von Nürnberg.

CARACH ANGREN comments: "We proudly present you 'Der Vampir von Nürnberg,' taken from our upcoming album. The song is a sub-story connected to the overarching horrifying concept on the album. Welcome to the world of a gruesome killer and vampiric necrophiliac dabbling in the wickedness of the occult!"
'Franckensteina Strataemontanus' is set to be released on June 26. Please note that the date has been changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The album can be pre-ordered HERE.

The Dutch masters of horror are back with their most flamboyant album so far. On 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus', CARACH ANGREN resurrect the gruesome story of troubled soul ‘Conrad Dippel’; the inspiration of Mary Shelly’s novel 'Frankenstein'.

CARACH ANGREN have extended all the sonic colours on their established palette to dazzling effect. Their trademark whipping guitars are weaving harsh melodies and sinister soundscapes, which are beautifully contrasted by opulent keyboards and majestic orchestrations. That Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) and Peter Tägtgren (PAIN) have called upon the composition talent of Clemens "Ardek" Wijers is a telling sign of his outstanding mastery of the craft. Another signatory counterpoint is provided by Seregor's fierce rasping and shrieking vocals. Adding to the impact, Namtar has become a relentless driving force with his hart hitting yet intricate drumming. Each track on this album is a highlight on its own, while combined 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus ' simply shines.

CARACH ANGREN set out to tell ghost-stories with a set of paranormal cases recorded on the demo 'The Chase Vault Tragedy' (2004). This was soon followed by the official release of the 'Ethereal Veiled Existence' EP (2005) as a prelude to the haunting 'Lammendam' (2008). The Dutch had a clear vision of combining a dark baroque style of metal with horror based lyrical concepts. Their sophomore full-length 'Death Came through a Phantom Ship' (2010) witnessed the band setting sail to bring their eccentric and capturing live performances to audiences and festivals all over Europe. In the wake of third album 'Where the Corpses Sink Forever' (2012), the haunting had reached the Americas and started to spread rapidly. This record added a serious side to the lyrics of CARACH ANGREN. While firmly remaining in the horror genre, their tales revolve around the evils of war. This mature streak was taken a step further with the fourth full-length 'This Is No Fairytale', which is on the surface a darker variation of the "Hansel and Gretel" story from the Brothers Grimm collection, but also deals with the too real topic of child abuse in a dysfunctional family. With ‘Dance And Laugh Amongst The Rotten’ (2017), the band returned to pure story telling with episodes that are centred on a girl playing a little too long with her Ouija board.

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT SHARE NEW SINGLE "TORKA"

WARNING: This video may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised. Subscribe to our channel here: ht...

Album "KOLLAPS" Coming May 8th, 2020

The Hirsch Effekt share their new single TORKA along with a music video. It's the third track from the bands 5th studioalbum KOLLAPS coming May 8th, 2020 via Long Branch Records. KOLLAPS encounters everyday madness with elaborate counterpoints and ludicrous lyric lines. In a heavier manner, the band slips into the roles of other, social actors to reflect the aspects of their agenda: a dispute with the systematic collapse is thematized from the perspective of the „Fridays For Future“-movement, depicted in a musical dainty or a bizarre way, then again also to corrode opposers in a strobe-like manner.

TORKA is now available as Stream and Download on all digital platforms.

The Hirsch Effekt about the new single "TORKA":

"TORKA is another composition that was written by Ilja solely. Except for the drums and one guitar doubling all instruments were played by Ilja. The songs root can be found in the Industrial-like electronic bass figure that is first introduced in the intro and later picked up the bass guitar and even later by the guitars and drums. The ending is nothing less than a reprise of the interlude MOMENT, just in a band- instead of a strings arrangement. The lyrics of the song tell a fictional story that is settled on the Easter Island and deals, inter alia, with the extinction of its inhabitants. The same story is later continued on the album's title track KOLLAPS. TORKA belongs to the more melancholic songs on the album."

After their last album „Eskapist“ (2017), which charted #21 on the German album charts, and formidable show-offs at Wacken Open Air, Full Force Festival and as recent headliners at the renowned Euroblast Festival, The Hirsch Effekt have now spawned their new ogre. Musically, the trio from Hanover, Germany, has once again settled in the microcosm of progressive metal and enhanced their songs with their typical trademark of – at first glance totally out of the line – genre-hopping.

Similar as on previous records, it happens again by Hirsch-style chopping of parts and beats, that first off felt safe and usual. In between chorals resound, helping to find one's way back to a necessary recollection. On the one side it's a euphonious, on the other side a hurting listening experience that leads to a heightened perception of the exposure of the human disorientation, and serves as a call to the solitary consciousness of courageous individuals - to gather together at concerts.

Live, this symbolic demise is celebrated purification. This can be celebrated together with the fans at upcoming shows, by the way of indulging unison and clamor, questioning oneself whether the own heart and thoughts have gone prone to egoism or still are in line with the harmony of hope, that is hidden within „Kollaps“.

Line Up:

Moritz Schmidt (Drums)

Nils Wittrock (Guitar, Vocals)

Ilja John Lappin (Bass, Vocals)

AFTERMATH Warns the Masses in New "Diethanasia" Video Update

"As a kid I always questioned and challenged authority. That’s one thing that never changed for me. I’m a cynic and that has led to my search for the truth. I have been on a path to answer questions I have had for years. That search has led to some horrifying realities. The quest for the truth and the answers I have uncovered led to our latest album called “There is Something Wrong”. It is a concept record that challenges the listener to question everything and to never believe the official story just because your government or media tells you to. From the Fed to organized religion to Agenda 2030, the lyrics expose it all" says Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis.

He continues, "The song Diethansia was written three years ago. If you listen to the lyrics it is literally about what is happening today. Bill Gates and his followers have been preaching and warning about a global pandemic for years. His attempt to scare the masses into a global vaccinated world that includes microchips used to track us should frighten us all. He is manipulating and distorting facts to justify “his vaccine” and their ultimate plan. Diethansia was written to warn everyone about this plan. They talk about sustainable development and population stabilization. Those phrases are meant to sound like solutions to a problem – a way to help the planet. They aren’t. Do you trust Big Pharma to save you? Do you believe a computer salesman will save you? It is time to wake up and question everything."

The lyrics in the song are not meant as an indictment of all lawyers, doctors, media, etc. The attack is meant for the few within those professions that aren’t interested in helping humanity, but instead destroying it.

Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco (Guitar) got together. This early incarnation with Adam (Bass) and Ray Schmidt (Drums) released their first demo in 1986 featuring "Sentenced to Death’," "Revenge," "Shotgun," and "The Aftermath."

In 1987, they unleashed their second demo entitled Killing the Future featuring the tracks "When Will You Die," "Going No Place," "Chaos," "Meltdown," and "War for Freedom". The band pursued a mind-blowing speed and technical brand of thrash that soon set them apart from the pack and in the process made them a pioneering crossover thrash band.

Aftermath has continued to receive critical acclaim as one of the major influences in the genre. The band was featured on pages 9 and 10 of Gary Sharpe-Young’s A – Z of Thrash Metal, available on Cherry Red Books. Twenty-five years after its formation, Aftermath’s music made its return in 2011 with the release of the Box Set 25 YEARS OF CHAOS on Area Death Productions and the vinyl When Will You Die on F.O.A.D. The reemergence of one of the most original thrash bands ever continued in 2014 with their decision to reunite for several concerts in 2015. Coming off their first show in 20 years at Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in their hometown of Chicago, the band ripped the stage apart at Headbanger’s Open Air in Hamburg, Germany that summer. In the Fall of 2015, the reunion continued with the reissue of the band's debut Eyes of Tomorrow. With an expanded booklet and remastered by Paul Logus (Pantera, Steel Panther), Shadow Kingdom Records released the band’s debut along with bonus material. Following this release was the Killing the Future reissue on Divebomb Records. Once again Paul Logus remastered the tracks from their original source and created a wall of sound in the process. Killing the Future, along with the expanded booklet and bonus tracks from the band’s 1986 first demo, completed the celebration of the band’s 30th anniversary.

In 2017, the band started writing the material for their new album, There is Something Wrong, an 11-song opus recorded by Chuck Macak and mastered by Ted Jensen. A concept record in the truest sense of the word, the album features a mix of old-school crossover thrash and technical/progressive metal, and is a commentary on what is wrong with the world today. A calling out of the masses to wake up and know the real enemy. The music is urgent, and the lyrics challenge the listener to seek the truth. The lyric video for "Smash Reset Control" visually depicts some of the topics covered on the album. The imagery and the striking red color in the video provide the perfect backdrop for the lyrics and music. Aftermath went back to its early days and revived its crossover thrash stylings on this powerful and ultra-fast song, but this track is only a sample of what the listeners have in store for them once they put on their headphones and listen to There is Something Wrong in its entirety.

The band is currently writing and recording new music.

Veio Announces Release Of New Album Vitruvian On June 19

Lead Single “Flare Of Defiance”

Breaks Top 30 At Active Rock Radio,

Named Top 10 Metal Contraband Track

Alt Metal-Prog Rockers From Portland

Marked 1 Million Spotify Streams in 2020

Following Tours With Seether, Tremonti, Starset

Following the release of a bold new track last September—the popular radio hit “Flare of Defiance”Portland, Oregon’s alt metal-prog hard rockers Veio are set to release their new album Vitruvian on June 19 through Silent Majority Group.

nspired by the name of a famous sketch from Leonardo da Vinci in 1490, the band has conceptualized and translated the artist’s legendary “proportions of man” into a sonic interpretation by giving each song on Vitruvian a theme, emotion and proportion of its own.

“The themes and emotions distinctly expressed on this record are defiance, self-ownership, spirituality, anxiety and depression, deceit, bloodlust, grief and awe and wonder,” says bassist/vocalist Kris Lewis who joins brothers Cameron Byrd (vocals/guitar) and Brett Byrd (drums) in the project, which is named for an Etruscan city-state during the time of the Roman Empire.

Vitruvian was recorded over a year-and-a-half with Stephan Hawkes (Chelsea Grin, Attila, I Declare War) at Interlace Audio in Portland, with additional production by Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down) who has called Veio “the loudest band” she ever recorded. To her point, the cops were called as the band tracked drum parts.

“We have experimented in taking the programming and synth production to a level we’ve never incorporated before,” adds Lewis. “We have also spent a lot of time on new guitar tones and effects to take, what we feel, is a step forward for our music. We wanted to incorporate subtle elements of electronica to give it a bit of a cinematic effect to enhance the depth of the instrumentation, while still playing around with odd time signatures and polymeters and maintaining anthemic and singable choruses.”

The first single, “Flare Of Defiance” was a hit at Active Rock Radio, entering into the Top 30, while also being named a Top 10 Metal Contraband Track. After being placed on a number of official playlists, the song has also helped the band reach the 1 million streams benchmark on Spotify in recent weeks.

Vitruvian follows Veio’s 2017 debut album Infinite Light/Desperate Shadows and tours with the likes of Seether, Tremonti, Starset, The Veer Union, Skyharbor and RED.

Veio is part of the notable Silent Majority Group that has managed the careers of Creed, Saving Abel, Paramore, Candlebox, Sevendust, Tantric, Framing Hanley and Brother Sundance. SMG is a music company made up of Silent Majority Recordings, a global and fully functioning record label currently promoted and distributed by Warner Music Group/ADA, and JHMP, a full-service artist management company.

Here’s what the press and industry veterans have said about Veio:

"We get that comparing a band to the highly revered Tool is sacrilege to many, but these boys deserve to be at least in the conversation for their mature and dynamic sound creations."

Matt Simon, Ear to the Ground Music Blog

"With comparisons being made to Tool and Thrice, it's a lot to live up to. I see it as a nod to Veio's genuineness and quality control for the music they put out there. Every new Veio song I hear lives up to expectations."

Todd McCarty (GM Fearless / VP Sales at Sony/Century Media)

"Veio are that unique combination of progressive, metal and alternative that produces a memorable style that few bands are able to achieve."

Roie Avin (Prog Report)

ABYSMAL DAWN Releases Official 3D Music Video for "Coerced Evolution"

Los Angeles' death metal masters ABYSMAL DAWN have released the official, 3D video for the song "Coerced Evolution," which is taken from their new album, 'Phylogenesis.'

ABYSMAL DAWN comments: "The basic idea behind the lyrics is that some time in the near future, human life on Earth will have become unsustainable. In turn, a certain portion of the population will forcibly have their consciousnesses uploaded to a grid in order to alleviate resources. The same corporations that would have destroyed the Earth, would run these grids and would continue to make a profit on what's left of humanity in some fashion. The ruling class would continue to live in the real world and make the planet sustainable once again."

'Phylogenesis' is out NOW and can be ordered and streamed HERE.

ICYMI: ABYSMAL DAWN has scored the cover of Issue #52 of New Noise Magazine! Along with an in-depth interview with mainman Charles Elliott, the issue will also feature an exclusive flexi disc of the band's never-before-heard cover of CANDLEMASS' "Bewitched," which will be made available digitally at a later date. The cover is designed by Par Olofsson.

Speaking about the upcoming issue and the choice to cover CANDLEMASS, Elliott comments:

"We're incredibly honored to be on the over of New Noise Magazine. In all my years doing this, I think this is the first time we've been given the prime cover slot of any publication. I'm really happy to see all the excitement around the release of Phylogenesis and all the positive feedback we've been getting so far. It makes me proud after all the hard work that was put into this record.

"So, as an added bonus, New Noise is putting out our cover version of the doom metal classic, "Bewitched" by Candlemass. We had some free time in the studio while putting together Phylogenesis and decided to do something totally out of the box for us. I don't think many of our fans would think Candlemass are an influence of ours but they are. It's nowhere near the realm of tech-death or brutal death metal but Nightfall is one of my favorite albums and it's an amazing record!

"Now the biggest shocker here is that I laid down some melodic vocals for this one. I don't pretend to be Messiah Marcolin but I gave it my best. I tried to maintain my own voice while paying tribute to the overall vibe of the original. I wasn't sure I could do it at first, but after showing the track to some friends and having the rest of the band excited about it, we decided we weren't making total asses of ourselves. It's a fun track and I think Vito killed it on the lead as well. Enjoy!"

ABYSMAL DAWN previously released "The Path of the Totalitarian," the second single from their forthcoming fifth studio album, 'Phylogenesis.' The song is available along with an accompanying 360°  visualizer at THIS LOCATION.

Garage Rock duo, THE DODIES, have released their behind the scenes lyric video for single "Sell Out" off of their debut album It’s One Hell of a Ride that drops on Friday, April 24, 2020.

"I wrote Sell Out after our old band toured and back-lined with an Israeli pop star when we were teenagers. At the time I didn’t really see it as selling out even though the whole project was obviously more about money than music. But as I grew older I was very ashamed of the matter and realized we were taken advantage of. Many promises were made, none came to life" says Yoni.

He adds, "It’s hard defining what a sellout is, since some people take pride in what others might be deeply ashamed of. Compromising my beliefs for a momentary satisfaction is selling out for me, but it’s hard understanding what my beliefs are in the first place. Our beliefs surely have changed since our teens when we played for insensitive idiots. One of the problems with social network today is that something you might not stand by when you come of age is still out there for people to see. That’s at least one of the reasons "social network tends to make me ill."

Ran adds, "To me, the inner conflict many artists have to face is what fuels Sell Out. Every time we play it, I can feel the tension between two opposites. It confronts a contradicting reality - authenticity against fakeness, aggression against vulnerability, fulfillment against repression. We let it all out chaotically."

THE DODIES are a young garage rock duo from the southern desert of Israel. Yoni Avittan fronts the band as lead vocalist and guitarist, as Ran Aronson sings backing vocals while simultaneously playing bass lines on keyboard with one hand and playing the entire drum kit with the other.

In February 2020, THE DODIES premiered their whimsical video for single "Boiling Point" (watch it here: youtu.be/muHmssD1vPE) from their upcoming debut album It’s One Hell of a Ride due out on April 24, 2020. The album is produced by THE DODIES and co-producer Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (Sons Of Apollo / ex-Guns N' Roses).

THE DODIES songs jump head-first into depression, alienation and rage, contrasted by hooky riffs and catchy melodies. They're a band that puts high importance on artistic integrity and uncompromising authenticity, always giving their full spirit in the studio and on stage.

"I was called in to co-produce a demo they were recording at a studio in Texas, end of 2018. I was blown away - great songwriters, performers, and lots of personality. Yoni (guitars/vocals) is a poetic uncompromising artist. Ran (drums/keys/backing vocals) plays the entire kit with his right arm while simultaneously playing bass on a synth with his left hand, and singing backing vocals, and does it effortlessly. Together they're a sight to be seen" says Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal.

Thal adds, "They put very high importance on integrity, everything being authentic in expressing who they are, I respect that a lot. My role was to make that happen. I flew out to them to record the full album. We recorded the music at a local studio, then recorded vocals and extras (tambourine, foot stomps, kicking rattling amps...) at Ran's house (I brought over mics and an interface). We did it all with no click track, no re-amping, no drum triggers, no auto-tune - just the two of them playing together, capturing the spirit, on their gear, everything in just a first or second take. We worked as a team the following months mixing, tweaking, obsessing over details until it was ready. I can truly say, I can't remember the last time I've felt so much heart and had so much fun producing a band, I want to see these guys go on to have a great future, and am grateful to be here at the start of it all."

The Dodies are:
Yoni Avittan - Singer / Guitarist
Ran Aronson - Drummer / Synth Bassist / Backing Vocalist

MUSHROOMHEAD to Release Eighth Full Length Album, A Wonderful Life, on June 19 via Napalm Records

Watch the Official Music Video for New Track “Seen It All” HERE

Pre-Order A Wonderful Life HERE

For the better part of the past five years, top-charting masked metal machine MUSHROOMHEAD have been crafting the epic follow up to their monumental 2014 full-length album, The Righteous & The Butterfly – waiting ever-so-patiently to drop their next collection of anthems. The Cleveland collective make their prodigious return with the new full-length oeuvre, A Wonderful Life – the eighth release of their benchmark career – out June 19, 2020 via Napalm Records.

Available in several enticing formats, A Wonderful Life clocks in at a whopping 70+ minutes with its four bonus tracks – leaving a total of 17 stellar compositions in its wake for fans to devour. A Wonderful Life is accented by the sharp production of band mastermind/drummer Skinny, as well as the standout mixing prowess of Matt Wallace (Faith No More, 3 Doors Down), also recognized for his work on the band’s classic offering XIII.

Today, MUSHROOMHEAD have dropped their first new single – the arena-ready anthem “Seen It All”. The hair-raising earworm will have listeners chanting along in no time and is surefire proof that MUSHROOMHEAD are back in prime form. New full-time vocalist Mr. Rauckhorst leads the pack in an apropos cry for societal unity and marks a confident return for the band. Sing along and watch the new music video for “Seen It All” above.

Pre-Order A Wonderful Life HERE

At its start, an ominous choir invites the listener into A Wonderful Life – introductory track “A Requiem For Tomorrow” smoothly shifts into an industrial-metal inspired, grooving punch to the gut juxtaposed with a melodic, synth-laden chorus. This sets the stage for stocky, chant-worthy anthems such as “Seen It All” and hair-raising, politically-inclined tracks like “The Heresy” and “Carry On”, both featuring the sinister multi-voice attack of new full-time vocalist Ms. Jackie and returning longtime vocalist J Mann, with an extra strike from aforementioned new vocalist Mr. Rauckhorst on the latter. Tracks like “What A Shame”, “I Am The One” and “Madness Within” will prove a treat for new and diehard MUSHROOMHEAD fans alike – providing the macabre inspiration followers have come to crave with a weighty dose of galloping drums and bone-rattling guitars, to boot.

MUSHROOMHEAD attacks track after track with a refreshed focus, delivering a carefully-curated selection of certified future hits. A Wonderful Life re-cements the band’s position as one of the most consistently impactful heavy bands of our generation.

Helfró Stream Entire Debut Album via Black Metal Promotion

Icelandic black metal duo HELFRÓ are now premiering their self-titled debut album in full via Black Metal Promotion. The entire record can be heard ahead of this Friday's release.

HELFRÓ comment: "At last! Let the forlorn discordance wash over the world! Proudly we release the grip on these mad melodies. As a journey comes to an end, another one begins. We present; Helfró."

The record will be released digitally via Season of Mist Underground Activists this Friday, April 24, via the Season of Mist e-shop and Bandcamp. The album will be physically available on June 5. The record can be ordered HERE.

Slithering in the cauldron that is the Icelandic black metal scene, HELFRÓ emerges with fury and competence rarely seen.

Written by Ragnar and arranged by Símon, a debut album has been recorded with unforgiving precision and profound musicianship. It is meant to channel the hopeless and empty feelings that have been concentrated from the frozen wastelands from which the band emerges.

Shrilling guitarwork and unforgiving blast beats weave together a soundscape that rarely leaves room for thought. It is an aural attack, seducing the listener to the barren and desolate black sands where the realization of futility and loneliness sets in heavier than anywhere else.

The band members, veterans in extreme music, have created this project as an audio representation of the endless arctic darkness, and with pride present the self titled first offering: „Helfró“.

SKINLAB has released their brand new video for single "Amerikill."

The single is from the band's latest record VENOMOUS, that was produced by Ulrich Wild, and released on October 25th, 2019, via Art is War Records.

"We are excited to release our new video for "Amerikill." This will be the first of many videos the band shot ourselves with the help of our bud Karl Whinnery who did an awesome job with his added story line catering to the inner paranoia developed through isolation. The message is real....know your surroundings" says Steev Esquivel.

One of the Bay Area's most prolific and enduring dynamic musical authorities in the world of bludgeoning heavy music has been Oakland’s own Skinlab. For nearly a quarter century, the quartet has endured numerous 'flash in the pan' short term music scene trends with steady composure and now sit poised to break through 2019 with the force of a raging ground swell. With new brutal music on the horizon, a reinvigorated rhythmic lineup, featuring the exciting return of longtime axemen Steve 'Snake' Green and Marcos Medina, as well as upcoming live road dates set forth to take precedence in 2019, Skinlab are on pace to set the record straight and blaze a new trail into the near future. For fans of the group, the undeniable mark of Skinlab begins and ends with the return of unflappable frontman Steev Esquivel who’s tone historically prepares listeners for all out war both live and in the studio. His moody drawl and sunken vocal grind opens up the needed space for the artillery style grooves of drummer Fabian Vestodto who pounds the group to the frontline of every rhythmic chug. Dating back to their early ground-breaking catalog of mainstays like Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded and _Disembody: the New Flesh to crushers like ReVoltingRoom and *The Scars Between Us_*, now as before, Skinlab is truly here to set the record straight...

SKINLAB is:

Steev Esquivel - Bass, Vocals

Snake - Lead Guitars

Fabian Vestod - Drums

Marcos Medina - Guitars
