Formed in the chilling embrace of '90s black metal, Mörk Gryning has always carved their own path, paying homage to their forebears while relentlessly pushing forward. Fasornas Tid - which in English means "The Time of Horrors" - dive bombs into a void inner turmoil, full of the insatiable hunger for self-destruction. "Tornet" storms ahead with unbridled fury, featuring the savage vocals of C from AVSLUT, while the title track marks a return to the band's melodic roots in its relentless harmonies and breakneck tempos.
Both haunting and ferocious, Fasornas Tid paints a dystopian symphony reminiscent of Mörk Gryning's iconic debut Tusen år har gått…, yet is still unmistakably a product of the now.
Mörk Gryning was founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 1993 by Goth Gorgon and Draakh Kimera. Two years later they released their debut album “Tusen År Har Gått” (1995), recorded and mixed at Unisound Studios, by legendary producer Dan Swanö and released by No Fashion. The album is one of the milestones of the ‘90s Swedish Black Metal scene.
The group returned to action in November 1996, working at Sunlight Studios together with Tomas Skogsberg and Dismember’s Fred Estby to craft the “Return Fire” album. Over the following years, three more albums were released, for example “Maelstrom Chaos” with new guitarist Avathar, a scene veteran, recorded at the legendary Grieghallen Studios Bergen, Norway.
Ever since the debut album, “Tusen år har gått…”, Mörk Gryning has refused to follow in the footsteps of others and walked their own paths – something which is made very clear on the 2003 release “Pieces of Primal Expressionism”, an experimental and heavy progressive release recorded at Dug Out, produced by Daniel Bergstrand. After a couple of years of touring and festival performances, the band was put on hold.
Returning to the scene again in 2017, the band performed an exclusive live show in Stockholm playing all the songs from the debut album and some other songs from the back catalogue. This ended in releasing the 4-song live record called “Live at Kraken”. During the pandemic the comeback album “Hinsides Vrede” was released to much critical acclaim with many of the songs today being the backbone of their live shows. A new album is scheduled for release in 2024 and the band is more active than ever.

Emerging Swedish Thrashers SARCATOR Unleashes Vicious New Single, "Where the Void Begins"
Before the festive season starts, Sweden’s blackened thrash metal band SARCATOR offers an early present for its fans with their newest single “Where the Void Begins.” The third track from the band’s upcoming album delivers a haunting exploration of despair and existential reflection. With vivid imagery, the lyrics delve into themes of isolation, loss, and the allure of the unknown. Dark and poetic, the song paints a picture of surrender to the infinite unknown - terrifying but liberating. “Where the Void Begins” will be the last single before Sarcator’s third full length album, 'Swarming Angels & Flies,' will be fully unleashed January 17th, 2025, via Century Media Records.

The band comments, "'Where the Void Begins' is the brother song of 'The Long Lost,' off our 2022 album 'Alkahest' - not in an obvious way but it felt like continuing on a story that wasn't complete. It's the heavy one on this album and ends up in a total rock n roll frenzy.
Additionally, it is the first one we wrote that ended up on this album, so it still carries the spirit of the previous album in a way.”
Sarcator’s “Swarming Angels & Flies” sets the bar high for the upcoming album in terms of speed, heaviness and pure desire to see the song unfold live. Starting off like an explosion, the song delivers a sonic blast hurling the audience straight into a fire pit with raw, untamed energy. At a juvenile age of 14-20, Sarcator released their first demo tape, “Visions of Purgatory”, via the American label Redefining Darkness Records in 2019. Just two years later the quadrumvirate got nominated for best rock/metal album for the Swedish music award P3 Guld with their 2020’s self-titled debut release for the same label. After releasing their 2nd album, “Alkahest”, via Black Lion Records in 2022, Sarcator finally got a proper chance to play live, captivating crowds with their intense, blackened live shows.
With their current line-up fully committed to the band despite their young age (all members are between 19 and 25) it was time for them to record their third album, which still features previous guitarist Emil Eriksson. Shortly after signing a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records and heading out on a debut European tour supporting Hellripper and Cloak, Sarcator will be releasing 'Swarming Angels & Flies' on January 17, 2025.
This album marks the most intense, brutal and rawest creation yet for the band. It is a remarkably mature and sophisticated piece of work, from mercurial musicians who are only in their early 20’s, and still at the beginning of their creative journey. Across eight, grotesque and utterly venomous tracks, Sarcator have deftly blended the wide-eyed extremity of their debut album with the inspirational musicality of their second record “Alkahest”, while playing everything with more intensity than ever before. Both deliriously melodic and mercilessly brutal: “Swarming Angels & Flies” is the most dangerously potent record the Swedens have made to date.
Sarcator explains about the record and its creation process, “We wanted to highlight the most aggressive and extreme parts of us, but we still wanted to work with dynamics, so you still have elements of classic rock and post-punk, which we started experimenting with on the last record. 'Give Us The Moon' takes the listener on an exciting sonic journey, balancing between uplifting escapism and captivating stories inspired by real-life events. The album's themes span the likes of heroines and temptresses to liberation and romantic nostalgia, set to backdrops of abandoned cities and cosmic tides.
The intro track “Final Call” sets the scene for 'Give Us The Moon' before the impressive opening track “Stratus” is followed by the beautifully nostalgic “Shooting Velvet”. The intro of “Like The Beating Of A Heart” captures the listener from its first notes, leading into an irresistibly catchy chorus. Massive “Melbourne, May I?” is a classic THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA anthem, featuring captivating solos that are equally prominent on following track “Miraculous”. After reemerging on the recording side of the music industry with guest spots on
Michael Schenker Fest albums and tours in addition to fronting the hard rock supergroup Black Swan, MCAULEY was (and still is) feeling invigorated and ready to explore even more creative output to let the world see that his voice is still as powerful as ever.
Work for 'Soulbound' began in early 2024, following an intense musical period in between tour dates and studio work. With a slightly different production approach compared to the previous album, ROBIN’s vocal performance here is simply outstanding. Truly an iconic voice of the genre, 'Soulbound' solidly delivers the more hard and heavy aspects of this respected artist.
ROBIN's backing band includes some of the previous artists who appeared with him on previous efforts, including guitarist Andrea Seveso, as well as some new talent such as guitarist Alessandro Mammola and drummer Alfonso Mocerino.
'Soulbound' is produced by Aldo Lonobile.
Robin McAuley is widely recognized as one of the great singers of a golden period in hard rock music. His voice can be heard on albums from Grand Prix and Far Corporation, and of course, on the chart-topping MSG records 'Perfect Timing,' 'Save
Yourself,' and 'MSG.' Through these releases, he was introduced to hard rock fans around the globe, who no doubt recognized the inherent talent and skill in his vocal abilities.
Once he departed MSG, McAuley released one solo record in 1999, then joined AOR
legends Survivor. He then re-grouped with Schenker in Michael Schenker Fest on their recent records 'Resurrection' and 'Revelation,' And of course, in what was an absolute revelation to hard rock fans around the world, in 2020, he came out swingin' as the frontman of the supergroup Black Swan, where he joined forces with Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger), Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, ex-Dokken), and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr Big).

Lord Of The Lost Join Savage Lands on Breathtaking New Single
As Savage Lands prove on their breathtaking new single, metalheads aren't ones to back down from a fight. After witnessing how land developers are tearing down Costa Rica's rain forest, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and his old guitarist Sylvain Demercastel decided they weren't going to sit around and rust in peace. In 2022, they started Savage Lands, the music industry's first artist-run environmental non-profit.
Using the money that's generated by their music, Savage Lands has preserved 100,000 square feet of Costa Rican rain forest. 100% of the royalties from the organization's star-studded album, Army of the Trees, support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries. But as they warn on their crushing new single with Lord Of The Lost and Chloe Trujillo, if we don't act fast and protect our ecosystems, then pretty soon, we won't just be out of time. We'll be out of breath.

"Out of Breath" marks the first time that Lord Of The Lost and Savage Lands have appeared together on a record, but the Eurovision darlings are one of the organization's earliest supporters. "When Sylvain Demercastel and Dirk Verbeuren introduced us to Savage Lands at Hellfest in 2023, we instantly saw the passion and necessity behind this endeavor and were absolutely thrilled by the opportunity", says Chris Harms and Pi Stoffers from Lord Of The Lost. "Music can not only offer a refuge to every single person on this earth, but it can be used as a sanctuary for the existential nature around us".
The video tones down the glam and glitter with its dystopian footage, but Harms screams with bloody conviction alongside the explosive wails of Black Bomb A and Savage Lands vocalist Poun. "We loved writing this song, as it was yet again another stylistic facet that we haven't necessarily touched already", Lord Of The Lost continues. The song's bridge craters under the cavernous weight of Harms' death growls. "We're left for dead".
But not all hope is lost. From the ashes of Stoffers' smoldering solo alights a familiar voice. "Look at the sky", beckons Chloe Trujillo, who reprises her mystic role from earlier single "Black Rock Heart". "A place to breath / People and trees". It's a chilling reminder of all we stand to lose.

Reborn PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) returns with
a masterpiece of arcane black metal!
'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' details a true story that happened in the band’s home area of Podlasie, in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in the 1930s and 40s. The album takes the listener into the world of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, an illiterate peasant who was the leader of the Orthodox Grzybowska Sect, active until the 1960s, cultivating and transmitting the history of the self-proclaimed prophet. PATRIARKH spread their gospel by using an arsenal of folk instruments, such as tagelharpa, mandolin, mandocello, hurdy-gurdy, and stringed dulcimer, and worked with a symphony orchestra and choirs to give their new creations the most organic and vivid feeling possible. As is trademark with PATRIARKH’s music, Orthodox sacredness is mixed with black and doom metal, now largely enriched with folk music, neo-dark folk, and even film music. The band utilizes the entire palette of Orthodox music, venturing into the areas of Byzantine monody, liturgical chant, and Russian polyphony, neatly adapting folk and liturgical melodies to their own style.

The story on the album encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone, we reached for means that we had not used before in our music. Many of you will wonder if this is still black metal? The lyrical side of 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ' is an interesting mix of theater and pastoralism. PATRIARKH uses fragments of texts from the theater play "Prorok Ilja" and draws from the messages contained in the works of Włodzimierz Pawluczuk, combining it with folk and liturgical texts. On 'ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ,' listeners can hear various languages – and Polish for the first time ever! The album was recorded in January and May 2024 at Tall Pine Records (Behemoth, Zalewski, Afromental), Heinrich House (Behemoth, Vesania, Hate), Wem Studio (Kasa Chorych, Lukasyno, Cira), and Radio Białystok studio. Mixing and mastering was handled by Wojciech Wiesławski at Hertz Studio (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated), and production was helmed by band mastermind and leading vocalist Bartłomiej "Варфоломей" Krysiuk. “ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ is an album full of emotions, sentimentalism and folklore. It’s pastoral, lyrical, epic, multidimensional, and multicolored, just like my Podlasie is multicolored,” says Варфоломей. You, infinite, the new project from This Will Destroy You founding members, have announced the release of their self-titled debut full-length on February 28, 2025 through Berlin's Pelagic Records.
you, infinite reunites Jeremy Galindo and Raymond Brown, founders of acclaimed instrumental outfit This Will Destroy You, in a new collaborative project. After departing TWDY to pursue a career in medicine, Brown continued to write music while establishing a successful practice in Austin, Texas. During the pandemic, he accumulated a collection of melodies and ideas which he shared with Galindo, sparking a renewed creative partnership. Separated by distance, with Galindo in Los Angeles and Brown in Austin, the duo began to exchange ideas digitally in order to shape the foundations of you, infinite's electronic-edged, panoramic post-rock sound.
Between 2021 and 2024, the two came together in person to refine the pieces and ultimately to finalize the album. Working with Andrew Hernandez, who recorded and mixed the album in the summer of 2024, Brown and Galindo were joined by Johnnie McBryde, Ethan Billips, and Nicholas Huft, all current members of Galindo's TWDY lineup, in order to truly bring the album to life.

Iconic post-punk band Pink Turns Blue has announced that their new 'Black Swan' album will be released in February on limited edition vinyl, CD and digitally via Orden Records. Ahead of that, they present the single 'Black Swan (But I Know There Is More to Life)', the only ballad on the album. Setting the tone for this album, this song offers ample fruit for thought to round out the yea, delving into profound questions about existence, reflecting on life’s purpose and contemplating what makes for a meaningful life and the beauty of the world.
After 2021's widely acclaimed ‘Tainted’ album, the companion 'Tainted Tour 2022' EPand successful American and European tours with often-sold-out concerts, the Berliners' new studio album will be followed by their 'Black Swan' tour, which sees them tour throughout Germany in April.
This new collection is aptly named 'Black Swan', a term used for an unexpected event that, in retrospect, is rationalized as if one could have prepared for it.

"Chris Ellis, our singer, who has adopted street dogs himself, wanted to tell the story of an animal that continually seeks love but is left alone time and again. ‘Stray’ shows what true, unconditional loyalty means and reminds us that everyone deserves a home. It’s a musical call to give these strays a second chance."
The video for the single was created in cooperation with VETO, the association of European animal welfare organizations. The non-profit limited company, which is committed to the welfare of shelter and street animals, provided the ELLIS MANO BAND with the film material used for the music clip.

The record features eleven tracks, including "For All I Care", which was one of the highlights in their set supporting the British rock legends. Powerful and characterised by tempo changes, it is a contemporary, modernised homage to the essence of classic rock from the late 1960s to the end of the 1970s. A quiet acoustic interlude is thrown in for good measure. A definite nod to the unforgotten Old School. Compositional sophistication, variety and incredible playing are the hallmarks of the Anglo-American sound of the ELLIS MANO BAND. So it was only logical to engage a global great for the cover art. The cartridge with the broken tip and flowers growing in ist case was realised by Canadian album design legend Hugh Syme (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Rush and many more). The music is just as impressive. It shows how the ELLIS MANO BAND continues its development in line with the album title.
