MARK STEIN, THE VOICE OF VANILLA FUDGE RELEASES VIDEO FOR “LET’S PRAY FOR PEACE” AND WISHES EVERYONE A VERY SAFE AND PEACEFUL HOLIDAY.

Mark Stein has just released a new collection of songs through Deko Entertainment about Hope, Unity, Concern and Redemption titled ‘There’s A Light”. Sidelined during the recent Covid-19 pandemic and unable to perform live with popular rock band, Vanilla Fudge, Mark decided to put his down time to good use. He wanted to write and record songs about what was going on in America and the rest of the world. He saw social unrest, racial disparity, political division, violence, widespread sickness, and an entire world on the brink of an economic disaster due to the spread of a disease like no other. Yet, at the same time, Stein saw a great opportunity.

Mark has just released a video for the track “Let’s Pray for Peace” which even resonates more during this Holiday season. As Mark explains, “During this Holiday Season, I hope this song helps to bring our volatile world a little closer together” Merry Christmas & A Happy Healthy New Year.”

View video below.

‘There’s A Light’, Mark’s first ever solo album is a thematic collection of ten songs which weave a remarkable story of what America was, has become, and may or may not face in its future, and critics are taking notice.

“Stein sounds as inspired as ever, and the message he shares is underscored by the clarity of both his passion and purpose.” American Songwriter

Mark Stein first came to prominence in Vanilla Fudge, formed with Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert and Vince Martell. In addition to his many years within Vanilla Fudge, Stein has also worked extensively with such rock legends as Alice Cooper, Dave Mason, and the late guitarist Tommy Bolin. He has also made guest appearances with Deep Purple, Carl Palmer, Steve Miller and once recorded and sang with Michael Jackson.

German post-rock/experimental quintet THERE'S A LIGHT will release their second album and label debut, f̶o̶r̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶I ̶h̶o̶pe̶? for what must we hope?, this Friday via Napalm Records! Fans of their atmospheric and multilayered post-rock were already able to take a further glimpse into the new full-length’s atmospheric soundscapes with their pre-released singles “Eplis” and “Dark Clouds Behind, Bright Skies Ahead”. Today, THERE'S A LIGHT are paving the final path to the imminent album release with their beautiful third and final single, "Be Brave, Fragile Heart”, alongside a heartfelt music video.

With a soft fade in, a peaceful melody of blended guitar and piano play emerges from thin air. Distant ambient tones follow, resembling light raindrops as they fall on an old, rugged iron roof. This time, the story of "Be Brave, Fragile Heart" is given life by Andreas Richau's gentle, breathy vocals, too. While flying synths and dissolute instrumental parts slowly pull at the listeners’ ears, a quiet, distant-sounding rhythm settles in, alike the gradual ticking of time. The whole piece stretches over seven and a half minutes and yet feels like a beautiful moment that passes far too quickly and that you could hold on to forever.

THERE’S A LIGHT on “Be Brave, Fragile Heart”:

“'Be Brave, Fragile Heart' is a song about discovering an unknown fragility within yourself and how to deal with it honestly. What might sound weak for some, we believe is a necessity to get out of the dark times that life brings to all of us sometimes. While destruction happens fast, healing takes its time.”

Thematically, on f̶o̶r̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶I ̶h̶o̶pe̶? for what must we hope?, THERE’S A LIGHTtake a deeper look at the question of the true meaning of hope as well as at the different facets of it: On the one hand, hope can be something positive - a flourishing force that always gives a new impulse to grow beyond oneself. On the other hand, it can also do harm, for example, if one holds on to something that will never become reality.

Radiant album opener "...The Storm Will Set The Sails" immediately enchants with its shimmering melody and great arrangements, while the following "Within The Tides" presents a more dramatic, progressive touch with impressive technique and rhythm. Driving "Like The Earth Orbits Sun" is one of the tracks that features bassist Andreas Richau's captivating, emotional vocals, along with the multi-faceted exclamation point "Elpis" and spherical "Be Brave, Fragile Heart". "Dark Clouds Behind, Bright Skies Ahead" and "Appearance Of Earth" open up another spectrum of sound and expand the cosmos with the passionate cello playing of guest musician Akito Goto. The grand finale "Even In The Darkest Place..." weaves powerful instrumentation with dreamy moments into a harmonious overall construct, once again underscoring a hypnotic post-rock experience in the style of bands like God Is An Astronaut, Russian Circles and Sigur Ros.

THERE’S A LIGHT on the new album:

"So, we asked ourselves what hope stands for and what it means to us. We had a lot of conversations within the band about the good but also the bad aspects of hope and our experiences with it.

And we got answers and inspiration by history and philosophy. Like Kant who has extremely positive views on this topic - hope is necessity for human existence, it’s not seen by him as a personal but collective thing. This is where the album title came from.

The whole process of creating this album really took us on a journey and we found new ways to express our thoughts and feelings with our music. We took a few trips to France and wrote songs together in a cabin, but we also had to write a lot of parts simultaneously, since we are not living in one city any more. We had the chance to work together with new lovely people but we also reconnected with old partners in crime.

All in all it wasn’t an easy journey, but now we made it and are happy and proud to finally release this album with Napalm Records!"

True emotions do not require words. That's what THERE'S A LIGHT have proven many times, as with new single "Dark Clouds Behind, Bright Skies Ahead". A fulfilling opening is followed by familiar peaceful guitar melodies and ambient interjections that detach the listener from mundane concerns. The music video goes hand in hand and tells a profound story with the purest of visual means and brings peace with one's internal conflicts.

THERE’S A LIGHT on “Dark Clouds Behind, Bright Skies Ahead”:

“If you ever experienced this phenomenon in nature, on a hike or wherever you are without shelter from the elements, you will not forget it. It’s a calming and beautiful sight when you see a dark storm front moving away from you while the sun comes out.

For us this is a metaphor - life is a constant flow between ups and downs. But no matter how dark a storm is, there will always be a bright sky ahead. This song tries to capture this motion and feeling. Thank you so much for listening!”

Pre-Order Starts NOW!

Just recently, German post-rock/experimental quintet THERE'S A LIGHT inked a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records. Now, the promising discovery announces its second album f̶o̶r̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶I ̶h̶o̶pe̶? for what must we hope? for release on December 10, 2021. With their symbiosis of ambient post-rock, THERE'S A LIGHT create an atmospheric, multi-layered soundscape, setting a trance-like state of mind. Some of the eleven stirring songs are underlined by soulful, carefully placed vocals and everything earthly seems to fade away when the hauntingly beautiful sounds envelops the listener in all-consuming atmosphere.

Today, the Black Forest post-rockers offer a first glimpse of their upcoming second full-length by unveiling the passionate first single, "Elpis", alongside a breathtaking music video. “Elpis”invites the listener on a journey into a dreamy experience that comes close to an out-of-body experience. The sporadic presence of Andreas Richau's gentle voice seems to become one with the spherical cascades of sound and resembles a falling raindrop hitting the ocean, there to blur into infinity.

THERE’S A LIGHT on “Elpis”:

“We’re excited! Not only because this is our first single of the new album but because this is our first music video ever!

This song is about Elpis, the personification and spirit of hope in ancient Greece. We put it into another context and wrote a new story. Hope can lead you to false ends, but they were probably there from the start - you just couldn’t see them. To overcome these obstacles is the message of the song, which usually only works if there is hope left."
