Acclaimed Record Maker David Kalmusky Signs With Jonas Group Publishing

Multi-platinum “Record Maker” David Kalmusky has signed with Jonas Group Publishing. Noted for his work with artists across multiple genres, the renowned producer, songwriter, musician and mixer has more than 20 Billion global streams across all platforms. 
 
Kalmusky has worked with artists including Shawn Mendes, Keith Urban, Warren Zeiders, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Nate Smith, Tenille Townes, Joss Stone, Elle King, Mickey Guyton, John Legend, John Oates (Hall & Oates), Motley Crüe and more. As a writer, he’s penned songs with Mickey Guyton, Tennille Townes, Blessing Offor, Keb' Mo' and others.

Kalmusky recently relocated his Addiction Sound Studio to Music Row. He hosts his main production/mixing room in the famous Tom Hidley/Glenn Meadows designed Masterfonics Mix Room and has meticulously curated and assembled a world-class staff and facility.

A third-generation music maker, his father, Kenny Kalmusky, was one of the original band members of “The Hawks” with Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, and John Till in 1958. Kenny went on to make records at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, NY, and Nashville, TN, in the late ’60s, with the likes of Ian & Sylvia, Todd Rundgren, Cowboy Jack Clement, Ronnie Hawkins, Jerry Reed and many others.

Finnish occult murder pop inventors CVLT OV THE SVN have inked a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records.

While rock music seems to have lost its danger and mystique in a lot of ways, CVLT OV THE SVN are the force that embodies just that. Eeriness, danger and angst with a pinch of romanticism and seduction and a load of morbid horror theatrics - all wrapped in a melancholic and catchy, yet very rock, and at times even heavy, sound, drawing its influences from all sorts of artists and genres.

Commented the mysterious creative visionary behind the band: “For me the inspiration is darkness itself, as I am able to understand it. When I write songs, I want to push people’s boundaries, so I want to come up with ideas that make you go, ‘What the f**k?!'. Napalm Records is obviously one of the legends. It is an honor to be part of the lineage, part of this family”.

Joining a Roster that includes Metal Greats

Slayer, Gojira, Mastodon and Ghost

New Zealand metal band ALIEN WEAPONRY join Los Angeles based management company, The RSE Group, home to high profile artists including Slayer, Gojira, Mastodon and Ghost.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with Rick Sales and be a part of the company that manages some of our favorite artists,” said Henry de Jong, drummer of the powerhouse trio. “Rick Sales is a legend, and an influential figure in the metal scene worldwide.”

Lewis de Jong, singer/guitarist adds, “We’re pretty humbled to be welcomed into this exclusive family of artists”.

The New Zealanders have been making headlines across the world with their unique fusion of thrash metal and their native language, te reo Maori. They occupied the no. 1 slot for 13 weeks on the ‘Devil’s Dozen’ countdown on SiriusXM Liquid Metal, their debut album Tū was voted album of the decade by Finnish metal magazine Tuonela, in Denmark they were welcomed to the Copenhell festival by a crowd of 10,000 doing a haka in their honor, and opened up for Slayer in Stuttgart, Germany on their final European show last year.

While the world has been in lockdown due to Covid-19, the band has been back at home in New Zealand, writing and recording their second album. The album was due for release in 2020, but has been delayed until 2021 because of the pandemic.

While ALIEN WEAPONRY has had to cancel all overseas touring in 2020, they will soon be announcing dates and locations for a New Zealand tour later this year.

BLACK ANVIL Signs to Season of Mist

Season of Mist are pleased to announce the signing of New York City's BLACK ANVIL! The band will release their fifth studio album via Season of Mist.

Formed in 2007 in New York City, Black Metal troupe BLACK ANVIL released their debut album, Time Insults the Mind, on Monumentum/Reflections Records in September 2009, and later that year signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records. After a re-release of their acclaimed 2009 debut, BLACK ANVIL unleashed their first proper full-length Triumvirate in September 2010. Recorded with engineer ‘General’ George Fullan (The Rolling Stones, Dream Theater) at Mark ‘The Animal’ Mendoza’s (Twisted Sister) Diamond Drop Studio on Long Island, NY, Triumvirate received critical acclaim and was hailed as an "all-around monster metal album." Pitchfork even stated, “Black Anvil’s an amazing live band… and their songwriting’s as strong as their stage presence.” 

Triumvirate was followed in 2014 by Hail Death, a 70-minute journey of intensity that further established BLACK ANVIL as a modern Black Metal powerhouse and was praised by publications including Noisey, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Metal Injection, and many more. Constantly bringing their live ritual to the masses, BLACK ANVIL has participated in numerous high profile tours with Black Metal legends such as MAYHEM, WATAIN, URFAUST, and MARDUK as well as dates with AURA NOIR, NACHTMYSTIUM, IMMORTAL, EYEHATEGOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, and many others. Additionally, the band has appeared at various festivals including the Scion Rock Fest, Beyond The Gates in Bergen, Norway and the renowned Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.

In 2017, BLACK ANVIL dropped their fourth studio-album, As Was, the staggering 50-minute follow-up to 2014's Hail Death. Atmospheric and melodic without relenting on any of the ferocity BLACK ANVIL have always been known for, As Was seamlessly weaves through eight monumental passages of extreme metal art. More diverse, complex, and thought-provoking than anything they've done before, As Was is a stellar representation of modern Black Metal, and of BLACK ANVIL's continuous progression and songcraft. Featuring cover art by Metastazis (Behemoth, Watain, Morbid Angel) and recorded at Menegroth by Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts, Panopticon) with mixing and mastering done by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio (Tribulation, Funeral Mist, Watain).
