AETHER REALM Reveals Gripping New "Cycle" Music Video

On U.S. Tour with UNLEASH THE ARCHERS this Fall!

Latest Album, Redneck Vikings From Hell, Available HERE

Sophomore Release, Tarot, Available HERE

North Carolina's AETHER REALM reached new levels of melodic death metal mastery with the release of their latest full-length album, Redneck Vikings From Hell, in 2020. Today, in anticipation of their upcoming U.S. tour with Unleash The Archers and Seven Kingdoms, the band has unveiled a gripping, emotive new video for their triumphant track "Cycle", featuring Michael Rumple (Flood District, Lorelei), off of Redneck Vikings From Hell.

Frontman/bassist Vincent "Jake" Jones says:

“The lyrics for 'Cycle' came to me in a desperate place. I was trying to make sense of why I still experienced these long episodes of depression, even when there didn't seem to be an obvious reason for it to come on. It's like it was always waiting to sneak up and snatch me out of the moment, and no amount of personal growth or skill mastery or artistic recognition could prevent it from taking me in its grip.

So I thought - if I can't prevent the feeling from coming on, I can at least give myself a tangible reminder that this is normal for me. That I've made it out of low places before, and I will again. This song helps keep my feet on the ground when I'm feeling cocky highs, and it gives me some hope when I'm running low. It was a pleasure to turn that emotional blooming and wilting that we all experience from time to time into a visual aesthetic with Jaraad Nageer and Ana Manso."

This past summer, Napalm Records reissued AETHER REALM’s acclaimed 2017 album, Tarot, featuring the addition of the band's previously standalone single "The Magician". Today, the band has revealed a brand new music video for the track – one you'll have to see to believe! This epic, cinematic dark fantasy adventure features spellbinding VFX, mystic woodland scenery, riffs for days and even a bloody cameo!

Frontman/bassist Vincent "Jake" Jones says about the video:

“Throughout the creation and release of 2017’s Tarot, we encountered many obstacles preventing us from presenting music videos on the scale we envisioned. Now, with the support of director and VFX artist Jaraad Nageer, as well as a team of skilled creatives, we’ve finally created something we feel accurately captures the feeling contained within the music. Prepare to be ensorcelled by 'The Magician'."

AETHER REALM’s massive, now 12-track/70+ minute sophomore release (expanded with the addition of previous standalone single “The Magician” to the new physical edition) garnered notable underground appeal and cemented the band’s mind-blowingly multi-faceted sound as their own – spurring prominent metal blogs such as No Clean Singing and Angry Metal Guy to dub the album as an “enormous accomplishment” and “spectacular”, respectively.

Boasting the production talents of Kile Odell and loosely based on the concept of tarot cards, Tarot begins the masterpiece to come with “The Fool” – beginning modestly, then ominously cascading into a black metal-meets-southern-fried riff inspired fury. Further setting the stage for the remainder of the opus, incendiary title track “Tarot” leans heavier into what fans have now come to love from AETHER REALM – a confident, cinematic melding of spine-tingling symphonic elements, thrashy rhythms and mind-boggling guitar leads. Following folk metal anthem-turned-talent show “King of Cups” (featuring labelmate Christopher Bowes of massive pirate metal titans Alestorm), Tarot continues to blindingly shine with tracks like the metallic ballad-echoed “Death” and sinister orchestral oeuvre “The Devil” – the latter of which should catch any competition shaking in their boots. The remainder of Tarot – capped by the nearly 20-minute heroic “The Sun, The Moon, The Star” – proves that it is indeed possible to flawlessly meld southern Americana-metal riffs with European-tinged symphonic soundscapes.

Tarot is the album that every band wishes they could attempt by their second go-round, yet AETHER REALM have already achieved it and gaze triumphantly ahead!

The North Carolina-based quartet’s massive, now 12-track/70+ minute sophomore release (expanded with the addition of previous standalone single “The Magician” to the new physical edition) garnered notable underground appeal and cemented the band’s mind-blowingly multi-faceted sound as their own – spurring prominent metal blogs such as No Clean Singing and Angry Metal Guy to dub the album as an “enormous accomplishment” and “spectacular”, respectively.

Frontman/bassist Vincent "Jake" Jones says:

“Four years ago, we made a promise... and it’s finally time we made good. Our 2017 album Tarot is being re-released on CD and vinyl by Napalm Records. The re-release will feature new cover art by Adrian Baxter and will include the song “The Magician” like we’d originally intended. To those of you that donated to receive vinyl in our original crowdfunding campaign, we’ll be in touch.

The album clocks in just shy of 80 minutes in length and includes our most lengthy and ambitious singular musical effort to date – “The Sun, The Moon, The Star”. Tarot was our first full length album with Kile Odell on mixing, mastering, and production. Additionally, we worked with Dan Müller of Wilderun for the orchestration, with Philip Reed for choir arrangement and recording, and with members of Paladin, Inferi, Alestorm, Lorelei, and many others for guest musical contributions of all kinds.

Our eternal thanks goes to all who have played a role in providing us the resources to make the music we’ve created so far. As for what the future holds, of course there’s no way to tell... or is there?”

AETHER REALM Releases New Album Today + Drops Fan-Interaction Video for "TMHC"

Melodic death metal masters AETHER REALM have spent recent months boggling the minds of metal fans everywhere with the stellar new tracks fresh off of their brand new full-length opus, Redneck Vikings From Hell, out today via Napalm Records! The wait is now over, and in celebration, the band has launched a brand new music video comprised of fan-submitted footage. The video serves as a backdrop for their ode to their dedicated fans, "TMHC", also cut from Redneck Vikings From Hell.

"TMHC" stands for Tiny Metal Hand Crew. If you have no idea what that means... let frontman Vincent "Jakes" Jones explain:

“I really can’t begin to explain how the tiny metal hand became the “secret handshake” of our fanbase, but it happened, and we figured if Bodom can have the COBHC... well we can have our own crew. And if we get a crew, they’ve gotta have their own song!

We were feeling pretty down after multiple release day music video plans were squashed by quarantine, but we were reminded that we’ve got the best fans in the world! The TMHC sent in videos of themselves rocking out all over the world, and we’ve compiled them all to help facilitate the worlds largest ever simultaneous isolated living room mosh pit! Time to grab your broom and show your housemates how to Sweep Pick. /m\”

AETHER REALM Releases Third New Track and Video,"Guardian"

New Album, Redneck Vikings From Hell, out May 1 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order NOW

Melodic death metal masters AETHER REALM recently announced the upcoming release of their mind-boggling upcoming full-length album, Redneck Vikings From Hell, out May 1, 2020 via Napalm Records. With their new album, the band improves upon their already distinctive sound that’s been astonishing fans since day one – taking listeners on a stupefying rollercoaster ride of death metal, thrash and even neo-classical shred.

Today, AETHER REALM has revealed a third single from Redneck Vikings From Hell – the cinematic, introspective ballad, "Guardian". The track cements the band's versed songwriting talents, proving just how undeniably multi-talented AETHER REALM is. Its stunning accompanying visualizer video's concept and animation were created by CHURCH GRiM (@churchgrimart).

Frontman Vincent "Jake" Jones says about the track:

"Sometimes you write a song because it’s the song you want to hear, but sometimes you write a song because it’s the song you need.

I wound up living on a couch most of the time this album was being put together. For a lot of that time, it was uncertain whether I was on the “right” path – whether I was wasting my friends' and my own time pursuing music as hard as we were. One night I was feeling particularly down, and I just started writing the things I wished someone would say to me in that moment. I felt a little better afterwards. I hope it’ll do that for someone else who needs it."
