SYDNEY SHERWOOD Teams up with KASON LESTER for "Cycle of Silence"!

New Jersey based Singer / Songwriter SYDNEY SHERWOOD flexes her lyrical prowess with her newest single, "Cycle of Silence," which sees the gifted chanteuse teamed with fellow American Idolalumni KASON LESTER. A deeply reflective and relatable track, the song comes to life through the pairing of the two distinctive young vocalists on this stunning duet.

"'Cycle of Silence' is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded. I had the idea for it back in the winter and wrote it with my talented friends, Joe Makoviecki and Brian Craddock. It’s about two people who are in a constant state of miscommunication, who wish that they could fix things, but aren’t really willing to hear each other out. I brought it to my good friend Kason Lester, who I met on American Idol and asked him to help me bring the duet to life and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! " - SYDNEY SHERWOOD

"Sydney is rock's answer to pop's P!NK or country's Carrie Underwood, she exudes all the power and confidence and sings with no-nonsense authority, all while remaining firmly situated in heavy alternative rock. Sydney Sherwood cannot be merely compared to female singers of her generation and writes and performs with a conviction that fans of 3 Doors Down or Daughtry would instantly recognize." - Joe Makoviecki (Singer, songwriter of Jackson Pines)

Sydney Sherwood, Semifinalist of Cover Nation’s Sing it Forward Challenge Awarded Mentorship Session with GRANDSON with Music Video for Poignant, Acoustic Version of "Creep"!

Sophomore EP, Headspace, Out NOW!

New Jersey based Singer / Songwriter SYDNEY SHERWOODrecently teamed with guitarist Ron Haney to release a touching, acoustic version and music video for her single, "Creep." Featured as a submission to the 2021 Cover Nation Sing It Forward contest, garnering the talented artist a prestigious Mentorship Session with Canadian American singer / songwriter GRANDSON. Filmed by Mike Gillette and produced by Erik Romero, "Creep" is off of Sydney's new, sophomore EP, Headspace.

"With the 'Creep' video, we had a three hour window to complete it, so when we got into the studio we were super focused and finished in only two takes! I love how it turned out and I’m thankful because putting this video together led me to being chosen as one of the eight semi-finalists for the Sing It Forward Challenge which benefitted NAMI. When I did my session with Grandson, we got to watch my video and he gave me some great advice for future performances and it was awesome to get to speak with someone who has a lot of knowledge and is so sure of himself and his artistry. Grandson is someone I really admire in the industry and I’m glad I was able to have my mentorship session with him because we love to write about real life situations (our battles with mental health, life experiences, etc.) so we really clicked and got along great. It was such a cool experience and I’m grateful I got to be a part of something that merged two of my biggest passions: being a musician and being an advocate for mental health." - SYDNEY SHERWOOD

“I thought [the mentorship session] was awesome, [Sydney] brought so much soul to the project and I’m sure I’ll be seeing [her] rock stages for a long long time!” - GRANDSON

SYDNEY SHERWOOD Releases Official, Performance Music Video for Acoustic Version of "Let Me Down"

Sophomore EP, Headspace, Out February 27th, 2021!

New Jersey based Singer / Songwriter SYDNEY SHERWOOD has released the official music video for the acoustic version of her new single, "Let Me Down." Filmed, recorded and edited by LAMPSHADE SESSIONS, "Let Me Down" is off the dynamic, young songstress's upcoming EP, Headspace, due out February 27, 2021.

"I wrote 'Let Me Down' with one of my favorite songwriters a few years ago after getting over someone I had feelings for for some time. I like to see the good in people and deep down I knew this person had good in them, but I looked at what that person could’ve been instead of the person that was standing right before me. I gave this person every chance to prove themselves and time and time again I was let down. I was so blinded by this false sense of reality that when this person let me down it felt shocking. I think a lot of people can relate to the fact that when you care for someone, you tend to overlook the negative things they do because you’re consumed with feelings, but now I realize it’s important to have one foot in reality at all times. Writing this song was one of my biggest moments of clarity to see that I deserved more. While the song is definitely not in favor of the guy, his actions opened my eyes to see what I don’t want and what I won’t tolerate. Had I never gone through this experience, I would’ve never known to look for those red flags in the future and I guess I have him to thank for this killer song." - SYDNEY SHERWOOD

New Jersey based Singer / Songwriter SYDNEY SHERWOOD has released the official lyric video for "Creep," which was created by Jared Dylan of Red 13 Studios, and is the first single off of her upcoming, sophomore EP, Headspace. Produced and co-written by Brian Craddock, guitarist of Daughtry and owner of The Cat Room Recording Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, Headspace is due to release on February 27, 2021.

"Being someone that has struggled with anxiety, when it came to writing 'Creep,' I really wanted to give an inside look on what anxiety feels like, the emotions you experience while in a panic attack, and the idea that the same mind that thinks of the beauty of life is also the one that thinks negative thoughts which can really drag you down. I found in my experience that some people didn’t understand what it was like to have anxiety and would just tell me to “be positive” or “just don’t think about it” and I wished they understood or could feel what was going on inside. My main goal with this song was to illustrate the war that goes on in your head when you have anxiety as well as how you can either choose to let fear overcome you or you can overcome that fear. - SYDNEY SHERWOOD
