FLG Signs Italian Alternative Rock Duo PEAKS!

FLG, the newly launched imprint of Frontiers Label Group, is thrilled to announce the signing of Italian alternative rock duo PEAKS!.

Dedicated to championing innovative, guitar-driven music and pushing the boundaries of modern rock, FLG aims to foster a new generation of visionary artists.

PEAKS! is an exceptional alternative rock duo from Turin, Italy, who started their musical journey towards the end of 2020 with the jaw-dropping debut song ‚ “Blackout," which amassed over 2 million Spotify streams.

The band is intensely creative and has formed a very strong distinctive image through their visual output since the start: they shoot and create their own videos and content while collaborating with the renowned Italian graphic designer Giulia Lunge to realise and stay true to their vision.

From big fuzzy guitar riffs to catchy hooks, their musical influences draw from 70s rock to 90/2000s Electro Pop, as well as current bands such as The Score, Twenty One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, grandson, YUNGBLUD, Bishop Briggs, Welshly Arms, SAINT PHNX, and more.

PEAKS! debuted live at The Great Escape (2022) in Brighton, gaining huge acclaim that led to festival slots at 2000 Trees in the UK and supporting Pearl Jam at BST Hyde Park in London, then Placebo in Mantova (Italy), their Italian debut in front of 10,000 people. They wrapped up 2022 by playing with Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.

 

2023 saw PEAKS! returning to The Great Escape in Brighton, playing at the first Slam Dunk in Italy, followed by support slots with Dead Poets Society in Holland, and summer shows with Placebo in Italy and Switzerland. They played with Placebo again in 2024, as well as performing at the Storing Festival in the Netherlands.

Over the years, PEAKS! has received great support from DSPs, including placements on New Music Friday playlists across Europe on Spotify and Fresh Rock and New Rock playlists on Amazon Music.

 

The band has been featured on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Artists’ with Jack Saunders and on Kerrang! Radio, as well as earning strong airplay in the UK and across Europe. On TV, their music has been used on Love Island in the UK and on BBC’s Match of the Day, as well as on various US sync projects.

Growing up in the beautifully remote corner of Killarney, Ireland as the children of a classically trained singer and a father that spent his time cleaning gravestones, the brother-sister duo of Steph and Paul O’Sullivan seemed to be almost eerily qualified to start an alternative emo project. 

The formative years of their band GREYWIND saw the two grappling with the juxtaposition of some remarkable career highs and some traumatic personal lows. After the loss of a close family member to suicide, the two began exploring songwriting in an attempt to cope with their feelings of loneliness. 

After quietly posting their first demo to SoundCloud, GREYWIND immediately captured the attention of numerous labels, press outlets, and radio personalities. Early on, the band received heroic praise for their live sets at festivals like Reading and Leeds and Download. Even radio DJ Zane Lowe (BBC, Apple Music) referred to GREYWIND as “A moment you won’t forget if you’re a fan of rock music.” 

In 2017, the band released their debut LP 'Afterthoughts', which landed on the Official UK Rock Charts and ultimately produced multiple viral hits including the album's title track as well as the song “In Autumn” which quickly reached over 14 million views and catapulted the band onto the international stage. 

In 2023, the band headed back into the studio with producers Sam Guaiana (Neck Deep, Silverstein) and Casey Cavaliere (The Wonder Years). The result was their heavily anticipated follow-up EP titled 'Antidote', which featured the singles "Swing and Sway", "Antidote", and "Here’s Your Deathwish" - the latter of which also gained instant viral traction across Instagram and TikTok leading up to the band's official US tour debut in April of 2024. The songs were praised by press and fans alike, grabbing a multitude of editorial playlist features and putting the band into heavy rotation on SiriusXM’s, BBC Radio 1, and more.

SKUNK ANANSIE Release Brand New Single "An Artist Is An Artist" + Video!

British rock icons SKUNK ANANSIE have released their brand new single "An Artist Is An Artist". Their first new music in almost three years, it finds the acclaimed four-piece at the peak of their powers and is a witty, provocative, pulsating slice of spiky, new-wave brilliance.

Tackling everything from ageism to our current need for approval in the digital age, "An Artist Is An Artist" somehow seems to hark back to the band’s vitriolic debut single, "Little Baby Swastikkka," in terms of its confrontational quality. It also reaffirms the fact that SKUNK ANANSIE is part of Britain’s proud agit-pop lineage that extends back to The Slits, whilst also conjuring up the wordplay of Ian Dury.

Produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio fame, known for his production work with Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, Solange, Weezer, and Chelsea Wolfe, "An Artist Is An Artist" is the surprising first taste of what’s to come from the band in 2025. Reinvigorated after a period of introspection, their work with Sitek has seen the band twist and turn, stepping out of their comfort zone and re-shaping themselves into a lean and vital musical machine, ready to take on the world once more.

“His name seemed to be on a lot of records that we liked. But none of the records sounded the same. The records all sounded fresh, but mainly the artists all sounded like themselves,” says Skin of the producer.

 

“He basically reminded us that the process of making music didn’t need to be that complicated. When you start a band it never is, so it was a good reminder of that, and he got us to strip things right down,” continues guitarist Ace.

Originally based around a trademarked, hulking Skunk riff, the band listened to Sitek as he reduced the tune to its most primal essence. Then, he decided that they needed to add a sax solo. “I fucking hate sax!” grimaces Skin, “then this really cool fucking dude walks in and played sax like I’ve never heard it before, and at that point my mantra became, just trust The Dave.”

Strangely, what should have felt uncomfortable sounds utterly natural, and the band’s performance in the multi-coloured lyric video showcases how fresh, vital, current, and contemporary they are, a rare feat for a multi-million-selling group three decades on from their very first release.

"An Artist Is An Artist" will no doubt prove to be one of the highlights of the band’s upcoming European and UK headline tour, which kicks off in Portugal on February 28th and continues through Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Denmark, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Belgium before ending in the UK with 14 shows.

SKUNK ANANSIE, formed in 1994 in London, is a seminal band, one of the first multi-racial British rock bands, who are known for their powerful sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Fronted by the charismatic and dynamic vocalist Skin, the band blends alternative rock with elements of punk and metal. They remain one of the most important and influential bands of their era.

Their debut album 'Paranoid & Sunburnt' (1995), and its follow up 'Stoosh' (1996) both hit the Top 10 album chart in the UK and with hits like "Weak" and "Hedonism," they established themselves on the international stage, helped by their stunning live performances.
