For generations, aspiring musicians have been told that at some point they have to choose: The classroom or the stage. Education or passion. The diploma or the dream.
Let There Be Rock Schools and NPU America believe the next rock star shouldn't have to make that choice or to view music as merely an extracurricular activity.
Today, the two organizations announced the launch of Let There Be Rock Academy, a new dual-path educational program where aspiring musicians can seriously develop their craft while completing a personalized academic program leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
The school is scheduled to officially launch in September 2027, with enrollment already open. Go here to learn more.
While traditional education often treats music as something that happens after the ''real work'' is finished, Let There Be Rock Academy flips that thinking with a progressive concept that completed changes the game.
The idea is simple: The next rock star shouldn't have to drop out of school to chase the dream by fusing the things that have traditionally competed for a student's time: Music and academics.
Through the Academy, students will experience Let There Be Rock Schools' immersive approach to music education—mastering their instruments, playing in bands, performing live, and developing a deeper understanding of the music industry.
At the same time, NPU America provides a flexible and personalized academic experience — grades are designed to work alongside each student's musical ambitions. Students can earn the credits required for the OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) while building an academic foundation for post-secondary opportunities around the world.
''This is about removing the idea that young musicians eventually have to choose between getting serious about their music and getting serious about their education,'' said Scott Maceron (Founder & CEO, LET THERE BE ROCK SCHOOLS). ''Let There Be Rock Academy gives them the opportunity to go all-in on both.''
''Education should expand a student’s possibilities, not limit them,'' said Scott McLeod Founder & CEO, NPU America. "By creating Let There Be Rock Academy together, we provide academic accountability and flexibility that students need to pursue what drives them, while keeping their future opportunities wide open."
Whether their future leads to the stage, studio, music industry, university, or somewhere entirely different, Let There Be Rock Academy is designed to help students develop their talent through education.

ABOUT LET THERE BE ROCK:
Founded in 2010, Let There Be Rock Schools are rooted in the foundation that everyone has an inner rock star, whether you are 5 or 95. Music is about finding your voice, your confidence, and your people. We have been here from day one to discover hidden talents, foster natural abilities, and help grow and support friendships. In this supportive community, musicians can embrace their authentic selves and confidently express them to the world. Growing as an individual artist is essential, but we also teach our students to be a part of something bigger through our band program. We match musicians of varying skill levels of similar age and interests into bands that grow as a group and receive real-world stage performance experience throughout the year. Being part of a group encourages teamwork, creates lasting bonds and strong communities, and helps our musicians find that true sense of belonging. Our instructors are all elite musicians who share the Let There Be Rock Schools ideals both in and out of the classroom and on and off the stage. Their real-world performance and gigging experience bring technical skills and musician-to-musician mentorship to our students. We know the power music has to change lives, that’s why we do it. Whether it is your first time picking up an instrument or you have some experience and want to join the band, we’re the community you've been searching for.
