Kelsy Karter and the Heroines Heat up NYC

On one of the most frigid cold nights in New York City, the warmth was only a club away as Kelsy Karter and the Heroines were about to set the stage ablaze with their electrifying performance at The Gramercy Theatre. Fans, undeterred by the biting cold, lined up outside well before the doors opened, eager to secure a prime view of the show and to be part of the energetic atmosphere as the band recorded this special concert experience. As the band entered the stage amidst a symphony of cheers, the excitement reached a fever pitch, but it was when Kelsy took her place at the keyboards and they began to play “Are We Entertained” that the venue truly erupted in a frenzy of applause. The group leaned heavily on tracks from their latest record, “Love Made Me Do It,” - a rock opera. The band was absolutely on fire tonight, delivering a performance that was nothing short of exhilarating. Kelsy’s powerful voice seamlessly elevated the intensity of the band's sound, creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. Their interaction with the enthusiastic audience was continuous, ensuring that fans felt like an integral part of the show rather than mere spectators. Kelsy emphasized this connection when she boldly jumped off the stage and into the crowd, serenading the captivated fans that encircled her. With only a handful of dates left in the United States before heading off to Europe, it is essential to ensure you secure a fantastic spot to witness this dynamic band live.

There is something incredibly raw and profoundly honest when a performer takes the stage armed with nothing but an acoustic guitar and their own unique voice. This is exactly what opener Adam Slack from The Struts brought to the evening's lineup. His heartfelt storytelling intertwined with the songs he composed offered a warm and intimate glimpse into his life at the time of writing. He engaged playfully with the setlist, showcasing his personable nature and not shying away from poking fun at himself when his voice occasionally went off-key or when he stumbled over a lyric. Such moments only enhanced his charm, as he delighted the crowd with a truly authentic performance that they will undoubtedly cherish for years to come. With Adam only opening a handful of shows on this tour with Kelsy, be sure to catch this exceptional performer while you have the chance.

Enter Shikari brings their "Dancing on the Frontline tour" to heart of NYC

Saturday night in the bustling heart of Times Square presents a unique challenge for everyone attempting to draw an audience into their show, but Enter Shikari, alongside their talented supporting acts You Me at Six and Yours Truly, had no trouble at all filling the historic Palladium Theater to capacity. Still riding high on the success of their latest album, “A Kiss for the Whole World,” they dazzled the crowd with an astounding theatrical light show that complemented their energetic performance. As soon as the charismatic vocalist Rou Reynolds took the stage, he captivated the audience with a powerful spoken monologue before the band launched into their iconic track, “System…” They delivered a solid set that seamlessly spanned across all seven albums in their discography, showcasing their evolution as artists. It was truly a night to remember, as concertgoers exited the venue and stepped back into the vibrant circus that is NYC's Times Square.

Setting the tone for Enter Shikari were another prominent English band, You Me at Six. Earlier in the year, the band made the poignant announcement that this would be their final tour together, a fact that weighed heavily on the hearts of devoted fans. Knowing this, the audience held onto each word and musical note a bit tighter, savoring every moment. When a band declares it’s their last tour, they sometimes tend to mail in their performance, but not this band. From their electrifying opener, “Room to Breathe,” to the thrilling moment they brought out Rou Reynolds for “No Future? Yeah right,” they absolutely killed it. They even showcased a delightful sense of humor; when the drummer encountered some technical issues, lead singer Josh had plenty of jokes ready to keep the crowd entertained and engaged. If this truly was their last show in NYC, what an unforgettable way to go out!

Opening the night from Australia were the incredibly talented trio “Yours Truly.” I always appreciate a well-rounded trio, especially when they effectively combine infectious punk grooves with a captivating pop vocal style. For those who knew of their rising popularity and had made it early to the show, as well as for those still making their way into the theatre, Yours Truly had no trouble commanding the audience's full attention. They played a selection of songs from their two impressive albums, including tracks from their latest release, “Toxic.” This electrifying set not only showcased their vibrant energy but also gave everyone an exciting reason to continue seeking out more from this promising band in the future.

Moe. and Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country Bring the Jam to NYC

Even though the temperature was in the low 90's, the cool breeze from the east river and the chill vibe from the crowd made The Rooftop at Pier 17 the place to be. As the sky began its transition from light to dark, Moe took the stage, kicking off the night with a fantastic set. New York City served as the perfect opener, setting the tone for the evening. Throughout their performance, Moe thrilled the audience with songs spanning their remarkable 30-year career. The ever-changing setlist kept the crowd engaged, and the highlight came when Daniel Donato joined them onstage during "Mexico," ending the night with a powerful rendition of "Gone."

For more on the band - https://moe.org

Opening the show was Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, a relatively new presence in the music scene who delivered a performance reminiscent of a seasoned band. With their distinctive cosmic country sound, they captivated the audience with songs like "Dance in the Desert," "Lose Your Mind," and "Sugar Leg Rag" from their latest album, Reflector. The band successfully elevated the energy in the room, setting the ideal atmosphere for the headlining act, Moe.

Colds' dark and somber stage mood lightening matched perfectly with their set, predominantly featuring songs from the highly acclaimed album Year of the Spider. The standout moment for me was when Scooter Ward descended to the security barricade and sang directly to the audience, delivering a poignant rendition of the personal track "Wasted Years."

Bury Tomorrow finishes the Seven Sun tour in NYC with Hollow Front, Afterlife and Siamese

Bury Tomorrow finishes the Seven Sun tour in NYC with Hollow Front, Afterlife and Siamese with a ton of Headbangin and Hijinxs.

May 20th, 2023 Gramercy Theatre NYC. Every time a tour comes to an end you really never know what to expect - will it be somber cause the bands didn’t get along or will it be a fun a boisterous event. So glad we got the latter!

Within each set other band members came on stage and lightly sabotaged their set. Playing corn hole, cowboy hats and umbrellas were just a tip of what went on. With all the fun it was the music that really got everyone together.

Bury Tomorow’s first time on tour again since 2010 was more than enough plus a new album to match, “The Seventh Sun” from Music for Nations. It was a killer night!

Enjoy the photos from the night.
