From destroying cover songs to demolishing stages, Bloodywood had the audience primed and loud even before they took to the stage. Opening with "Dana Dana," you could both hear and see the palpable love between artist and audience. With their flawless nu‑metal dual-vocal attack fused with traditional Indian dhol rhythms, Bloodywood added an inventive twist to the genre. You couldn’t help but get swept up in the band’s sound and commanding presence, especially when Sarthak plunged into the pit as the crowd encircled him and danced. With their newest album Nu Delhi climbing the India charts, it won’t be long before they embark on a full-scale North American conquest.

Direct support for the tour came from sisters Jyl and Jules Wylde — The Pretty Wild. Opening with "Paradox" from their newest album Zero.Point.Genesis, the sisters had everyone hanging on their every move; the sibling connection was undeniable, and when they reached out to the audience the bond there was just as powerful.

Hailing from Mexico were Ladrones, who immediately ignited the stage with “Arriba La ‘L’.” The place was so revved up that during the second song the Irving Plaza PA system blew out. New York City, being the diverse place it is, had fans Talking(shouting) in Spanish to the band, conversation of admiration. The bond between audience and band intensified during those brief technical difficulties — someone even tossed a Mexican flag onto the stage and the lads displayed it proudly to the crowd. Within seconds the PA was back and so was the band. Though Ladrones have been together for a relatively short time, you can feel the ascent that is sure to come for this hungry young group.

Opening the sold-out evening were Ankor. While this was their first time playing NYC and there may have been some nerves, none showed as the band took the stage with “Darkbeat” from their latest release, Shoganai. They won over the crowd instantly. The energy the band projected — especially from guitarist Fito Martinez — was contagious. The perfect act to kick off this sold-out night.
