HEXED Bio:

HEXED was formed in 2015 by Lead-Vocalist Tina Gunnarsson and Guitarist/Vocalist Stellan Gunnarsson in Uppsala, Sweden. Drawing on their previous experiences as members of several different bands in the Swedish metal music scene they came together with a similar vision of composing music that was different from what all their peers were currently producing.

With mutual influences such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory, and Pagans Mind, it was clear from the beginning that the duo wanted to create heavy music with a focus on strong and powerful vocals combined with heavy melodic guitars.

When the songwriting, arrangements and pre-production were completed, it was time to begin with the recordings on the debut album. Before they could proceed they would need to recruit new band members. The result of that became Daniel Håkansson, a driven Bassplayer who was no stranger to the local metal scene, and also the multi-talented musician Teddy Möller became the band’s first drummer. Jay Matharu & Simon Aspsund joined the band and some line-up changes have been made since then.

HEXED Lineup:

Lead Vocals: Tina Gunnarsson

Guitars / Vocals / Keys: Stellan Gunnarsson

Bass: Daniel Håkansson

Guitars: David Nyman

Drums: Patrick Wahlberg

ENTER SHIKARI Drop New Single "The Void Stares Back" Featuring Wargasm

Enter Shikari are today sharing a brand-new single, ‘The Void Stares Back’, featuring the breakthrough rock duo Wargasm. Listen below.

It has been almost three years since Enter Shikari last released a new single. On their previous outing ‘The Great Unknown’, the final single to be taken from their UK #2 album 'Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible', we last heard the band questioning “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” As they now share highly anticipated new material, the answer to those questions comes into sharp focus: a new beginning is upon us.

Long-established as restless innovators operating in entirely their own lane, Enter Shikari re-emerge today with some of their most thrilling and potent work so far, in collaboration with Wargasm. ‘The Void Stares Back’ spins a startling pop sensibility into a haymaker chorus, that erupts to champion acceptance, community, belonging and the power of progress. It’s about staking your claim, being who you are, searching for like-minds and ushering out the antiquated views of old.

Lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds comments:

"It is with elation, and more than a little nervousness, that we release this; our first track after over two years of dormancy. It is a roisterous journey made all the more so with the addition of our friends Wargasm. Thematically, the piece is about the forward march of social progress, and how, often, those with a more conventional archaic outlook on sexuality, gender, social design, economics etc, see those with differing ideas like bewildering, depraved creatures from another dimension.”

Wargasm add:

“Shikari were a big part of our growing up, so it was an absolute honour to be asked to collaborate with such an incredible and well-spoken band. They stand for the right things - we're a little more pessimistic. It was fun playing the darker devil's advocate to Rou's light...where we're going, you won't need eyes to see...”

"The Void Stares Back" is released in the wake of several large live music returns. The band headlined last summer’s Download Pilot Festival and sold out a fourth show at London’s Alexandra Palace as part of an album tour victory lap. The band plays the mainstage at this month’s Reading & Leeds Festivals in the UK.

Bristol electro-hop duo REE-VO releases debut album ‘All Welcome On Planet Ree-Vo' & reveals 'Spacebox' video.

"Rapper T. Relly and producer Andy Spaceland's gripping debut plays stylistic hopscotch in Bristol's low-end dance history. Peppered with old-school film lifts, their electro-hop wriggles and writhes" ~ MOJO

"Their music is uncompromising, fired-up, rough around the edges and equally flies in the face of the powers that be and vile elements of modern-day society... their use of rap, electronica and rhythm wind together seamlessly, demonstrating a deep textural palette that also draws on club / house, dub and EBM" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Combines the energy of rave culture with reggae’s penchant for social commentary... vibrant, full of life, socially aware, and infectious to its core" ~ The Big Takeover Magazine

Bristol's groundbreaking electro-dub duo Ree-Vo present their debut album ‘All Welcome on Planet Ree-Vo’ - 10 tracks that punch with a mix of red-eyed paranoia and playful future funk - along with a limited edition 10" vinyl featuring collaborations involving NØISE, Object Object, Dälek and iconic industrial dancehall artist The Bug. with his remix of 'Protein'.

Ree-Vo is Andy Spaceland (AKA Andy Jenks) and T. Relly. Recorded, produced and mixed by Andy at Bristol's Christchurch Studios, known as the home of 'Mezzanine'-era Massive Attack, this album was tweaked and fine-tuned during the summer of 2020.

Ree-Vo also presents a fun and vibrant video for 'Spacebox', the album's hookiest track with a party throwing chorus spinning tipsy visitors around the intergalactic control booth of mission control.

“Lift off, blast off, shirt off, dance off! Naked in the dancehall SPACE BOX!” is the beamed mantra, Relly transmitting to all occupants of the galaxy. We wanted to make a hedonistic and colourful dancehall track, a bold response to the suppressive circumstances of the last two years," says Andy Spaceland

This project really could only have formed in one city, steeped as it is in Bristol’s decades of less conventional hip hop and bass music. Heavily shaped by the local scene and artists synonymous with hip-hop and reggae’s cultural social commentary, such as the Bug and Flowdan, Nas, Kojey Radical, Rob Smith, Massive Attack, Big Cat Burns and Mantronix.

After art school (where Brian Eno was his examiner), Andy Spaceland got involved in bass music with Bristol's Static Sound System and a collaborative 12” with Rudy Tambala (AR Kane) as Sugarboat Vs Sufi, before his band Alpha signed to Massive Attack’s Melankolic label and he became their tour DJ. He has collaborated with Smith and Mighty, Horace Andy, Elizabeth Fraser and Madonna, and has released music on Dj Die’s label Gutterfunk as White Bully. Andy is also part of 5 Billion in Diamonds with LA producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage) and is working on new material with Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), as well as Adrian Sherwood.

T. Relly is Bristol hip-hop royalty – known in the community variously for his links to all of the city’s major club nights, his passion and support for the most disadvantaged (through his work with the youth and prison leavers), through to compering stages at St Paul’s Carnival and his seminal 2018 album with DJ Rogue ‘Let Them Know’. He collaborates with many crews including Innalife and Killer Crab Men.

"Our sound has the life blood of sound-system bass culture carried through veins of hiphop and rave. I describe it like that BCuz it’s a live and living thing not just a sound, though essentially it is Bristol Dirt. Both me and Andy, as individuals, have very different sounds but as a duo, the sound for me is totally of one, which is Rare throughout collaborations. The sound just fits. It’s edgy, consciously upbeat and fun yet seriousness throughout - such as life," says T. Relly.

"This release has been a long time coming. Me and Andy met through a mutual friend and instantly became friends, when that shit happens the universe has already decided on something great happening. With that we never gave up on Ree-Vo throughout multiple frustrations, let downs and genre life getting in the way."

In spring of 2022, Ree-Vo released a limited 7" of the 'Spacebox' EP with stunning original artwork by Shepard Fairey (OBEY), featuring remixes by Batbirds (the duo of Joe Cassidy AKA Butterfly Child and Aaron Miller) and NØISE (the musical collective of Joe Cassidy, Shepard Fairey, Merritt Lear and John Goff). Earlier, Ree-Vo also released 'Combat' and a powerhouse remix of this track by iconic UK electronic music producer Surgeon (Tresor Records).

In April, the duo released the juggernaut ‘Groove With It’, growling out polemic against the relentless cacophony,, which T. Relly describes as “what I see in the struggle and ongoing battle, but also the resilience, humour, originality of people living in the system of seemingly two sides”. They've also unleashed the remix-based compilation 'Dial R for Ree-Vo'.

On July 29th, the album will be released on turquoise-blue gatefold vinyl, CD and digitally via Dell’Orso Records and Southern Record Distributors (SRD). Upon purchasing the album, folks will also receive the orange vinyl 10" (in limited quantity) featuring four remixes and collaborations involving The Bug, Object Object, NØISE and Dälek. It can be ordered at https://lnk.to/Ree-VoEDDA52.

Austin electronic duo PANJOMA present 'Like Thunder' from 'Sun and Moon' EP, first release in 8 years

"Luminous, positive and upbeat, Panjoma manages to strike a balance between the song's essence and their restless experimental spirit... 'Sun and Moon' is a sonic gateway drug" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Original and artfully crafted music beats from the epicentre of Electroclash and shines from the neon lights of ambient-pop.. daydream believers that sit amongst the deserted soundscape of dark romanticism" ~ The Manc Review

"A strange and surreal sound clash... seductive and hypnotic... slow-burning creative growth arc that it evolves long that adds to the intrigue" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"One fascinating and compelling encounter... an invitation awash with enthralling mystery and tempting which leads to the ever riveting" ~ Ringmaster Review

Austin-based electronic artist Panjoma present their new single 'Like Thunder', a sultry and blissed-out chill song in time for spreading good summer vibes.

Originally created for Willie Oteri and Ricardo Acevedo’s 'O’Clock' Italian tour in 2018, there was still missing something. Enter songstress Mary Panjoma, who’s lyrics and vocals tightened the composition into what finally became 'Like Thunder', a feel-good ballad about love and lucid dreaming.

This single is a potent taste of goodness from Panjoma's latest 'Sun and Moon' EP. Marking the band’s return to the music scene after an eight-year hiatus, they are back with what they feel is their best work ever. They also recently previewed the singles 'Sun and Moon', 'Free' and 'Bleeding Sun'.

Formed in 2006, core members Mary Panjoma (vocals, keyboard, production) and Patrik Nilsson (bass, drum machines, samplers, production) quickly hit it off upon meeting, resulting in a marriage and the birth of Panjoma. Despite their subsequent divorce, Pat and Mary remain committed to their shared musical quest.

The 'Sun and Moon' EP follows 2014's 'Personacide' album and 2012's 'Panjoma' album in 2012. These were preceded by the singles 'Death Mantra' and 'Transmit Invocation', both with videos created by two-time Latin Grammy Award recipient Paul Beck, known for his work with David Byrne, The Calm Blue Sea, and feature films 'Waking Life' and 'A Scanner Darkly'.

An avant-garde darkwave electro femme-pop DMT-jazz band with a funky edge, Panjoma's sound is as eclectic as their influences, ranging from Bjork, Aphex Twin, Orbital and Squarepusher to Thundercat, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Daft Punk, Le Chic, Mr. Fingers, Jazzanova and Depeche Mode.

Panjoma combines electronic sound elements with conventional instruments, which they often use in unconventional ways, such as filtered pianos or e-bows on bass, producing their unique sound using a vast array of drum machines, samplers, keyboards, software programs, and synthesizers.

They have also had their fair share of adventures with film, art, soundtracks and sync licensing, having scored the soundtrack for the independent horror film 'Psympatico' and been featured in the soundtracks for multiple documentaries, TV shows and video games, including 'American Drug War' and 'How Weed Won The West' and the beta video game trailer for 'Otherland'.

Panjoma's studio and live performance members (past and present) include Ricardo Acevedo (Lost Cat Magnet, O’Clock), Ritchard Napierkowski (The Nimbus, Ritchual, Adoration Destroyed), John Ousely (Construction Paper Records, Cosmic Pets), Richard Evans (Rivers Want) and Chris Alvarez (Saul Williams, John Spencer Blues Explosion).

For over 40 years Ricardo Acevedo / Lost Cat Magnet has written and performed new wave, art electro, techno prog, urban ambient, avant-jazz and Chillout groove music, ranging from the far-out sonic experimentation of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the '60s to the machine-driven meditations of Klaus Schulze and the Berlin School in the '70s to the conceptualism and imagination of '90s progressive electronic artists like The Orb.

Willie Oteri has been a professional musician for over 40 years, touring the US, Europe and Japan. His recordings of Progressive Jazz and Beyond have received reviews in Jazz Times, Guitar Player, All About Jazz, Bam Magazine and others worldwide.

The 'Sun and Moon' EP' is out now and is available across digital platforms, including Spotify, Beatport, Apple Music.and Bandcamp.

Scotty McCreery Celebrates 3 Latest Back-to-Back Gold-Certified No. 1 Singles

SCOTTY McCREERY CELEBRATES NO. 1 SINGLES
“DAMN STRAIT,” “YOU TIME” AND “IN BETWEEN”

All Three Tracks Also Certified GOLD by RIAA

On the heels of three straight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his hit song “Damn Strait,” Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery, celebrated that track along with his two previous No. 1s “You Time” and “In Between.” In addition to being recognized for the number one tracks, McCreery also received plaques to signify GOLD Certification by the RIAA for each single as well and a Music Row Gold Coin “Damn Strait” to No.1 on the Music Row Country Radio Breakout Chart.

“With Covid and not being able to gather during the last couple years, we had some lost celebrations to make up for,” shared McCreery. “I never take a number one for granted…it takes a village and every one feels like the first. I was so happy to finally be able to raise a glass with the team and the songwriters to say thanks for all the hard work.”

“All three of these songs deserved their own huge No. 1 party,” said Kevin Herring, SVP of Promotion for Triple Tigers Records. “The dedication of so many great people have culminated in achieving the chart pinnacle for all three of these songs. Nobody has worked harder or deserves more credit than Scotty, and it sure is fun to all celebrate our victories together.”

The celebration follows last week’s announcement that the North Carolina native had partnered with Dr Pepper to give fans the chance to win “The Flyaway Experience You Deserve.” The grand prize includes travel, meet and greet, and tickets to one of McCreery’s shows later this year. Fans can visit DrPepperMusic.com/Scotty-McCreery to sign up for a chance to win, get more information and learn more about McCreery.

McCreery’s Dr Pepper promotion kicked off on Aug. 1, via social media and centers around the his hist, “You Time,” which the singer wrote with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis. McCreery will also be featured as part of Dr Pepper’s in-store display marketing materials in major grocery chains throughout select markets including Albertsons, Food City, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, Winn Dixie, and more throughout August.

“Damn Strait” is McCreery’s fifth consecutive No.1 hit, following “You Time,” “In Between,” “This is It,” and “Five More Minutes.” Upon the song’s release, Rolling Stone named it a “Pick of the Week” calling it “clever songwriting, delivered by one of the genres’ best King George disciples,” while Billboard praises, “Another ace is the clever track ‘Damn Strait,’ a rare outside cut on the project, penned by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins, in which McCreery name checks several of King George's greatest hits.” Taste of Country recently named it “one of the top 10 country songs of 2022 so far.”

Both “Damn Strait” and “You Time” are featured on his current album, Same Truck, produced by Frank Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis. Released in late 2021, the Garner, North Carolina native shifted his perspective to reflect on the last decade of his career and life with wife Gabi and dog Moose, with Tennessean sharing, “McCreery walks a sonic tightrope that leans into his country influences while not abandoning modern Music Row hitmaking,” while Sounds Like Nashville observes, “with 12 tracks in total, those songs ended up showing more maturity than ever, and exploring everything from the common bonds his fans share to the eternal flame of romance.”

McCreery and his wife Gabi recently announced in People that they are expecting their first child, a boy, to be born in early November.

McCreery launched his recording career by making history in 2011 as both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any genre to debut his first studio album, the Platinum-certified Clear as Day, at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

Chase Rice Debuts Travelogue Music Video for "Key West & Colorado"

Introspective Song Praised by Billboard as “One of His Most Earnest Vocal Deliveries to Date” Previews Rice’s Forthcoming Album

Six-time Platinum artist Chase Rice continues to reveal the deeply personal elements of his forthcoming album with today’s release of the official music video for “Key West & Colorado,” a visual travelogue chronicling his own journey westward. Watch the video below.

“This song is really a story about a man trying to figure his life out – trying to figure out his past, trying to figure out his situation with the woman that was in his life that he lost, and the trip that he took to help him along that journey,” reflects the man praised by American Songwriter as “one of country music’s most intriguing and lasting acts.” “That’s what this video represents, and it shows me on my own trip across the country. There are no performance scenes because I didn’t want it to be about that. I wanted it to be about my journey for something that I just needed to do.”

Filmed over nine days with just director / producer / videographer Kaiser Cunningham joining him on the excursion, the video chronicles Rice’s trip pulling an Airstream behind his Chevrolet truck; beginning on the beaches Florida where he wrote the song with childhood friend and frequent collaborator Brian Kelley along with John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Corey Crowder and Hunter Phelps.

The video also contains subtle Easter eggs alluding to elements of Rice’s forthcoming album, with Country Now noting that he “sets the bar high” with this first glimpse at what’s to come. The full project was recorded during a two-week period with producer Oscar Charles and a live band at Rice’s farm outside Nashville, using makeshift recording environment and no click track to capture a pure, raw sound unlike any of his previous studio projects.

The shift in setting suited the set of more vulnerable, personal music from the man Billboard celebrates as “having storytelling details tumble from his lips, his portraits created quickly and efficiently,” with CMT noting, “The vocalist worked day in and day out to find the courage to knock down the wall he had kept up his entire career. Once he demolished the barricade holding him back, he left his heart and soul on the writing table.”

“I'm at the place in my life now where I just want people to know who I really am as opposed to who they think I am,” Rice admitted to PopCulture recently. “I think this record's a good start."

For all the latest news on his forthcoming music as well as upcoming tour dates, visit ChaseRice.com and follow Rice on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok @ChaseRiceMusic and on Instagram @ChaseRice.

“Key West & Colorado” Lyrics Available HERE

About Chase Rice
With more than 2.3 million albums sold and over 2.3 billion total streams, plus a legion of passionate fans at his high-energy concerts across the globe, Chase Rice has established himself as a powerful force in Nashville and beyond. With a forthcoming album crafted in his rural Tennessee home-turned-studio, his sound continues to evolve to reflect the realities of his life, as evidenced by recent single “If I Were Rock & Roll” and his latest release, “Key West & Colorado.” The new music serves as a follow up to his three-part project, The Album, featuring his latest Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen. (feat. Florida Georgia Line)” and Platinum-certified Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are.”

This is the same gravelly-voiced Chase Rice fans first fell in love with years ago – but better. Freer. Unbeholden and uninhibited, somehow capable of evoking Chris LeDoux and The Chronic, campfire singalongs and stadium anthems, all at once. The new music builds upon the success of his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions, which featured the Triple-Platinum, two-week chart topper “Eyes On You” – Rice’s first No. 1 as an artist and the most-streamed song of his career. Lambs & Lions followed Ignite the Night, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart, producing a pair of Top 5 hits; “Gonna Wanna Tonight” and Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll.”

In addition to selling out arenas with Kane Brown and stadiums with Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks, Rice also consistently sells out venues across the U.S. and Europe on his own headlining tours and he will join Jason Aldean’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour this fall.

PINK TURNS BLUE presents 'Not Gonna Take It' single ahead of extensive 'TAINTED 2022' tour & accompanying EP

"One of the most ethically driven and environmentally conscious post-punk artists of our time... powerful" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Consistent purveyors of quality guitar-laden post punk and dark-bent indie rock... one of the most honest and most direct enduring acts in post punk today" ~ Destroy // Exist

"The timeless message is driven home with a timeless sound composed with refined effect" ~ Post-Punk.com

"They have had high ranks in the charts and still have a place deep in the heart of many fans" ~ Reflections of Darkness

"When it comes to actual darkwave, Berlin’s Pink Turns Blue are rightly regarded as one of the founding acts... one of the finer exemplars of continental postpunk" ~ CVLT Nation

Ahead of their long-awaited TAINTED 2022 tour, iconic darkwave-postpunk pioneers Pink Turns Blue present the single'Not Gonna Take It', the first taste of their 'TAINTED Tour-2022 EP', which will be released on September 2 when the tour kicks off in Seattle.

Riding on the strength of their 'Tainted' album, released in late 2021 via Orden Records, Pink Turns Blue will bring this music closer to home to music lovers from one coast to another while also sharing four new songs reflecting their emotional state in today’s world.

Formed in 1985 in the first generation of gothic rock and named after a Hüsker Dü song, today Pink Turns Blue is made up of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Paul Richter (drums) and Luca Sammuri (bass). Their debut album 'If Two Worlds Kiss' advanced the darkwave sub-genre while becoming a seminal post-punk album. Emerging from the fear and uncertainty of a divided Cold War Germany, they have since released a dozen full-length LPs.

"Not Gonna Take It' is a song about standing up for oneself and for a better world. Yes, the powerful, the bullies and the rich have many resources to get their way and claim that wrong is right. And yes, we all have our moments where we feel helpless and depressed because there doesn’t seem any way out of this cunning system of lies, propaganda, lobbying and influence. But every now and then, we just get fed up and decide we are not going to take it anymore. We find ways to break free, organize and fight for the things that are worth fighting for. Right now, it seems very difficult, at times impossible, naïve and all too idealistic. But if we give up fighting, we give up living. It is an uphill battle, but our defiance and our courage keep us going,” says Mic Jogwer.

“Since Pink Turns Blue presented the ‘Tainted’ album, things have changed for the worse, or have become more desperate and we have used this time to develop a few songs from the ‘Tainted’ sessions further - songs that didn’t make it onto the album since they were not ready yet, says In defiance of the global trend that the powerful use any excuse to enforce their agenda and defend their accumulation of benefices, more and more people see through it and stand up – for themselves and never give up to make this world just a little bit better.”

Both the 'Tainted' LP and the new EP relate to a world in havoc and the seemingly powerlessness of today's youth to take over the world and change it for the better. But this album is also a call to never give up, to never lose faith or the understanding that making this world just a bit better every day is what makes our lives worth living.

"Since February 24 (actually my birthday), when Russia invaded Ukraine, things became even worse. Instead of slowly getting back to “normal” and trying to get our humanity’s shit together and to alleviate climate change and the consequential effects, now we have to cope with war and an energy, food and financial crisis (again) with the risk of losing the battle for equality, climate change, peace... you name it. So now the world is not only TAINTED but is in DISARRAY," says Mic Jogwer.

With potent singles such as 'Not Even Trying', 'You Still Mean Too Much To Me', 'There Must Be So Much More' and 'So Why Not Save The World' address such themes as climate change, its effects, the reaction to it, the split within society, isolation, health risks and financial uncertainty.

As of August 12, 'Not Gonna Take It' will be released everywhere online. The 'Tainted' LP is available now via Apple Music and Spotify, with CD and limited-edition vinyl editions available via the band's website. September 2 marks the launch of the TAINTED 2022 tour, for which tickets can be ordered at https://pinkturnsblue.com/live-dates.

Elle King to Release BTS Look at "Worth A Shot" Music Video with Dierks Bentley

The CMA Fest Co-Host is Savoring the Summer with Hit New Single and Tour with Chris Stapleton

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Elle King is living her best life and having a blast along the way. As “Worth A Shot,” her new single and music video is rising the charts and continuing to garner massive streaming support, King is set to release a behind the scenes peak on set at the recent video shoot. Fans can watch below.

Collaborating with her longtime friend Dierks Bentley, “Worth A Shot,” is about a song about a relationship that is on the rocks but is ‘worth a shot’ at saving. Of the song, Wide Open Country noted, “The song is full of wordplay and lyrics regarding shots and alcohol while still telling the story about the struggling couple.”

The concept for the music video was created and written by King who collaborated with directors Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa Stone (Running Bear Films). Filmed in Murfreesboro, TN, the video flashes back to the Wild West in the late 1800s where King and Bentley star as husband-and-wife outlaws. With wanted signs, a liquor-filled saloon, and a shot for shot duel, the cinematic video is an unexpected take on the “highly engaging” (MusicRow) tune.

Last week King and Bentley hosted the CMA Fest primetime special on ABC which won the nightly ratings in total viewers. Filmed from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN during the 49th CMA Fest in June, the television special features 30 of music’s hottest stars as they take the stage during the four-day festival. In addition to hosting, King had several performances in the special including her smash hit Ex’s & Oh’s” where she was joined by her friend Ashley McBryde for a performance that Music Mayhem Magazine said “Stun With a One-Of-A-Kind Collaboration.”

Fans who didn’t have a chance to tune-in to the CMA Fest Special can catch King on the road with multi-Grammy winning artist Chris Stapleton and his “All American Road Show” Tour. Her set includes “Ex’s & Oh’s, “Worth A Shot,” and version of her massive hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home) with Miranda Lambert. The song recently topped the charts making it the first woman-woman collaboration to reach the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love Me” in 1993 which was also the only one on the 1990 launched airplay chart.

“Let me tell you, if anyone is having more fun than me this summer, I want to come join your party too,” laughed King. “I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and everyone playing, streaming and enjoying my music. This is what I’ve dreamed of and worked for since I was a teenager. I can’t believe this is my job and I get paid for it!”

EPICA Unveil Music Video For "Run For A Fall (Acoustic)"

When revisiting EPICA’s 20-year history, the band’s very first DVD recording 'We Will Take You With Us' is a significant milestone, showing the 6 young musicians on Netherland’s renowned TV show ‘Twee Meter Sessies’ in 2004. Long before YouTube emerged, this broadcast presented the symphonic metallers to a wider audience and also included the first officially recorded live versions of their early hits like "Cry For The Moon" or "Sensorium".

While many EPICA fans might have already seen snippets of this release online, the CD has long been sold out. Finally, it’s available again as part of the 'We Still Take You With Us' Earbook, collector’s boxset, and CD clamshell box.

Watch the 4K remastered clip for "Run For A Fall (Acoustic)" below.

Coen Janssen remembers the recordings:

This was one of the very first acoustic/small settings in which we played as a band. I have very fond memories of playing in the famous Wisseloord Studios. One more thing I remember is being very nervous because it felt so ’naked’ in a way but I am very happy that we have this version to look back at!"

In case you missed it, a whole lot is happening in EPICA’s universe this year for their 20th anniversary as a band.

You can still pre-order the early years collection 'We Still Take You With Us' and 'Live At Paradiso' that will both be out on September 2nd:

If you missed the band during their recent run of summer festival performances, you can now enjoy their long sold-out Anniversary Show in Tilburg from home with an exclusive, pro-shot live stream of the entire performance that will contain plenty of surprises in the setlist, guests and spectacular stage effects. About MOTHS

Every band wants to strike a pristine balance between evoking their influences, embracing their originality, and earning their place within the genre(s) they inhabit. That’s often easier said than done, especially when it comes to styles that have developed so quickly and broadly over the past few decades. As stoner/progressive metal quintet MOTHS proves, however, it can certainly be done. Fusing charming familiarity with captivating freshness, their prior two releases—2018’s self-titled EP and 2020’s split with Philadelphia rockers The Stone Eye—demonstrated an exceptional ability and willingness to saturate shades of their musical forebearers with plenty of wide-ranging and idiosyncratic personality.

As remarkable as both of those collections were, though, they’re mere appetizers compared to what MOTHS have crafted with their debut LP, Space Force. A “complete audio-visual experience”—as bassist Weslie Negrón puts it—the record sees the group composing their most mature, expansive, and rewarding material to date. Packed with quirkily intricate yet welcoming instrumentation, as well as highly varied and compelling songwriting and vocal approaches, Space Force is a thrilling statement of purpose and validity from one of stoner/progressive metal’s greatest up-and-coming acts.

Of course, MOTHS are also motivated by their culture, and alongside standout acts like Avandra, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Errant Society, and Parallel Dimension, they rank as one of the best Puerto Rican stoner/progressive metal groups. “It’s part of our DNA to put some Puerto Rican influences into our music. For example, the closing section of ‘Awake’ taps into Latin jazz,” Negrón reveals. In addition, he, Miranda, and González studied Popular Music at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico (and Rodríguez has the same major), so MOTHS are well versed in the “odd time signatures” present in Salsa, Bomba, and Plena (among other styles).

Naturally, that broad musical palette helped make Moths, and Moths/The Stone Eye Split incredibly illustrative. Plus, their distinctive sound and fortitude led to Moths getting spotlighted on Bandcamp Daily in 2018, as well as its second track—" Adhara & Ray”—being featured in Adult Swim’s “Stimulus Swim” playlist in 2020. As such, there’s already considerable hype for what Space Force will bring to the table, and luckily, it’s guaranteed to exceed all expectations.

From its gentle and cosmic guitar prelude (“Space Cowboy Ballad”) and fusion of ‘70s heavy metal and progressive death metal (“Broken Slumber”) to its hybrid of experimental space rock and jazz rock (“There’s No Place Like Space”), Space Force is an extremely diverse, engrossing, and poised voyage. Coupled with its equally mind-bending artwork, the LP surely finds MOTHS at the most imaginative and skillful stage of their career.

MOTHS Lineup:

Damaris Rodríguez – Vocals

Daniel Figueroa – Drums

Jonathan Miranda – Lead Guitar

Omar González – Rhythm Guitar

Weslie Negrón – Bass

SICK N' BEAUTIFUL MAKE TRIUMPHANT DEBUT APPEARANCE AT WACKEN OPEN AIR

Hot on the heels of the July 15 release of their new studio album 'Starstruck', intergalactic metallers Sick N' Beautiful made their debut appearance at the legendary Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany on August 5, 2022. The band tore through a blistering set, which included cuts from their new album; mesmerizing the audience with their unique hybrid of hard rock and modern metal infused with industrial, punk, and electro-pop overtones and off-the-wall stage show.

Live, the band puts together a fission-bomb of a show to wow people with tracks from their self-produced albums "Hell Over Hell" (2015) and "Element Of Sex" (2018). In just a few months, SICK N' BEAUTIFUL managed to rise from playing the tiniest bars in Rome to the huge stages of Lucca Comics and Eutropia. But whether a small club or a gargantuan concert venue, the group is equally at home, and will take no prisoners! Extreme visuals, make-up and costumes, along with bombshell singer Herma keep the audience involved and nailed to the stage, for a performance that is truly one of a kind.

But of course, all the visuals in the world won't work if inventive, intriguing, catchy music isn't there, so make no mistake, Sick N' Beautiful has substance to their visual stimulation. The videos, the recordings, the outfits, the props and effects, the merchandise design... SICK N' BEAUTIFUL produce everything themselves in-house, and everything you see is "homemade" with dedication and painstaking attention to detail. Catchy tunes along with an incendiary stage presence have helped to generate a loyal fan base which is absolutely enamored with the storyline and the characters of the band.

Frontiers Music Srl released Sick N' Beautiful's new studio album 'Starstruck' on July 15, 2022. The band is the ultimate rock n' roll sideshow from outer space: a unique concoction of hard rock and modern metal infused with industrial, punk, and electro-pop overtones, blending in varying influences from across the musical spectrum to create a sound all their own.

Saliva Reaches Top 30 at Radio with "Crows" and Releases Official Music Video for the Single; Announces More Tour Dates!

Multi-Platinum, Grammy nominated band Saliva are in the Top 30 at radio with their latest single "Crows." This is the highest charting song from Saliva since 2011. In addition, the band released the official music video for the single and have announced more tour dates!

WATCH Saliva - "Crows": below

"Crows" can be streamed/downloaded HERE

"Crows is about being in a relationship with a person so who is unwilling to recognize the shadow side of their personality, which ultimately leads to destruction of their relationships. We wanted to do something different for the music video. As a band we all love The Halloween season, and horror flicks. Given the title and dark subject matter of the song this was the perfect opportunity to incorporate some of that creepiness into a video. The imagery in the video represents the duality that resides within each of us. Like the makeup and colors in the video, we all have light and darkness within. Our darkness, or shadow sides are the repressed ideas, desires, weaknesses, insecurities, and short comings that we all have, but find hard to accept. The man in this video has struggled to come to terms with his own light and dark side and has now recognized he cannot continue to be dragged down by a partner who is unwilling to do the same. Ultimately It is only in recognizing our shadows that we can take away their power over us," says Bobby Amaru, vocalist of the band.

Saliva will continue to release tracks and ultimately a full album. The new music has a contemporary feel but sticks to the blue collar roots that their fans love.

After acquiring front man Bobby Amaru in 2011, Saliva became infused with new blood, energy, and spirit. The same energy launched Saliva’s career in 2001 with the release, _Every Six Seconds – a certified Double Platinum-selling album, containing the hits, “Click Click Boom” and 2002 Grammy nominated, “Your Disease.” Saliva’s in-your-face, anthemic writing style continued with a certified Gold-selling album *Back in to Your System_ with hits: “Always,” “Raise Up,” and the Nikki Sixx co-written, “Rest In Pieces.”*

Upon adding former Shinedown and Fuel bassist, Brad Stewart, as a permanent member, Saliva solidified their new lineup consisting of: Wayne Swinny, Paul Crosby, and Amaru.

FALLUJAH Unleash Final Single, "Soulbreaker," Ahead Of Sept Record Release

With barely a month remaining before the release of their their highly anticipated 5th studio album, "Empyrean," Bay Area masters of atmospheric technical death metal FALLUJAH have unleashed their final single, a torrential masterpiece titled "Soulbreaker." A masterclass of guitar wizardry and a devastating gut punch of pummeling rhythm, the ripping new track takes fans into the pit with a decimating level of sonic ferocity,

Stream "Soulbreaker": https://bfan.link/Fallujah-Soulbreaker

Commenting on the song, founding guitarist Scott Carstairs says:

"Prepare to have your mind melted by our latest track 'SOULBREAKER.' This will be our third and final single from our monstrous record 'Empyrean' out on 9/9. 'Soulbreaker' is a psychedelic spiral into depravity, relentlessly beating you down with pissed off riffs and ethereal walls of sonic bliss. Try not to break your neck listening to this one."

FALLUJAH emerges, post-pandemic, revitalized as they explore new sonic realms and revisit elements of style executed on early records. About FALLUJAH:
Tech-metal outfit Fallujah intensify their metallic dynamism on stunning new album, "Empyrean." Built on an “all killer, no filler” maxim, the Bay Area-based quartet delivered just that on album number five. From video single “Radiant Ascension” and “Embrace Oblivion” to “Soulbreaker” and “Mindless Omnipotent Master,” "Empyrean" is breathtaking in atmospheric expanse and impressive in sophistication. Fallujah’s overhauled lineup has contributed massively to the level-up on display. Primary songwriter/guitarist Scott Carstairs and compeer/drummer Andrew Baird enlisted Archaeologist’s Kyle Schaefer and Evan Brewer (formerly Entheos/The Faceless) as their new vocalist and bassist, respectively.

Since forming in 2007, Fallujah have triumphed over their challenges. Whether it’s self-administering the band, going to school, writing music, or working full-time, they’ve savored release of and diehard fan admiration for five albums in "The Harvest Wombs" (2011), "The Flesh Prevails" (2014), "Dreamless" (2016), "Undying Light" (2019), and their latest "Empyrean." Indeed, diligence and creative enterprise have resulted in high-profile tours with Whitechapel, Suffocation, The Black Dahlia Murder, and more across North America, Europe, and Australia. Fallujah also prospered with critics in Metal Hammer, Allmusic and Metalsucks. The group’s Billboard chart positions on the Top Hard Rock Albums and Heatseekers Albums prove that with every twist and turn, Fallujah’s fans are with them. "Empyrean," with its revivalist spikes, bolstered atmospherics and high-powered production, is the greatest yet.

"Empyrean" is a specialist’s paradise. As a rhythm/lead player, Carstairs enters a league of his own. Tracks like “The Bitter Taste of Clarity,” “Radiant Ascension,” and “Eden’s Lament” illustrate he’s upped his chops and boosted the emotional outlay. Throughout, he’s careful about compositional placement and how his radiant, palliative leads complement Fallujah’s sapid landscape. Drummer Baird tastefully and aggressively holds down the fort, grooving and syncopating admirably on “Radiant Ascension,” “Embrace Oblivion,” and “Mindless Omnipotent Master.” Fallujah’s long-standing timekeeper has always been great, but on "Empyrean," he’s superior. Right there with him is recently joined bassist Evan Brewer, thundering and bopping on, around, and against Baird’s foundation like a seasoned prizefighter. “Duality of Intent” is but one of Brewer’s standouts. Although known for his guitar work outside of Fallujah, newcomer vocalist Kyle Schaefer’s low-end and mid-range bark perfectly matches the existential threat-themed lyrics.

Throughout "Empyrean," Fallujah surprise. Musically, lyrically, and with their bevy of guests, they add hard-to-describe depth and musical import. Vocalist Tori Letzler (Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice) reprises her angelic role on “Radiant Ascension” and “Artifacts,” while Chiasma’s Katie Thompson also reappears to elevate “Embrace Oblivion” and “Into the Eventide.” Chaney Crabb of Entheos and Cyborg Octopus’s David Wu tender their considerable talents on “Mindless Omnipotent Master” and “Duality of Intent,” respectively. Celebrated artist Peter Mohrbacher (Serenity in Murder, Rainbowdragoneyes) replays his role on "Empyrean" as well. Truly, this is an all-star cast appearing on a momentous album by a band reaching beyond.

From the beginning of this writing process and until the end, we painstakingly made sure every aspect of this record would blow away our listeners,” states Carstairs. “We meticulously scrutinized every riff and note choice. There has never been this much effort put into a Fallujah record as we did with 'Empyrean,' and the result is a truly monstrous record that we believe is the band’s best work by a significant margin. We showed you restraint on the last record. Now, let us show you what happens when we leave it all on the table.

Venture into Fallujah’s exosphere on "Empyrean." They’re waiting for you.

Vince Gill Wraps Four-Night Sold-Out Residency at Ryman Auditorium

VINCE GILL WRAPS FOUR-NIGHT, SOLD-OUT RESIDENCY AT
RYMAN AUDITORIUM AS PART OF HISTORIC VENUE’S
130th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry Member Vince Gill wrapped his sold-out, four-night residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium last night, Aug. 7. The run of shows from Aug. 4-7 featured nearly four-hour sets and included fan favorites like “When I Call Your Name,” “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” among many others. The shows were filled with special guests including Gill’s daughter Corrina who performed a special tribute to her mom Amy Grant, singing her dad's 2021 Grammy Award-winning Best Country Solo Performance of “When My Amy Prays,” changing the lyrics to “When My Momma Prays.” The residency marked the GRAMMY Award-winner’s first solo performance at the Mother Church since two back-to-back sold out shows in 2017.

Gill’s career-spanning setlists varied night to night and featured special guest and “The Voice” Season 21 runner up Wendy Moten, giving fans unique experiences each show. Gill performed more than 30 songs with his all-star band which included Paul Franklin (steel), Billy Thomas (drums), Jimmie Lee Sloas (bass), Jedd Hughes (guitar),
Jack Schneider (guitar), John Jarvis (keyboards) and the aforementioned Moten and Gill. Gill also gave audiences a preview of new songs he wrote during the pandemic. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer movingly told stories behind each song including the poignant “Benny’s Song,” which Gill penned after the 2020 death of his oldest friend and long-time guitar tech Benny Garcia.

During the residency, it was announced by Moten that Gill will be the next CMT “Giant.” “CMT GIANTS: Vince Gill,” an all-new 90-minute special celebrating the extraordinary career and music of the country music titan, premieres Friday, September 16th exclusively on CMT. Gill continues on tour the month of August, wrapping up the successful run of dates in Atlanta on Aug. 28. Fall of 2022 sees his return to performing live with the Eagles, who he has worked with since 2017. He’ll finish the year with the return of ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ residency he shares with wife Grant Dec. 12-21.

Already a fixture on the Ryman stage with the annual ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ shows and many appearances at the Ryman’s annual Bluegrass Nights series, Gill’s residency added to the Ryman’s 130th anniversary celebration and joined the growing list of 2022 Ryman Residencies, including Dwight Yoakam (Jan. 19-21); Tedeschi Trucks Band(Feb. 22-23, 25-26); Billy Strings (May 6-8), John Mulaney, the Ryman’s first-ever comedy residency, Jason Isbell (Oct. 15-23) and Brett Eldredge (Nov. 25-27).

Since the first concert on May 4, 1892, the Ryman has celebrated an array of entertainment acts and all genres of music on its hallowed stage – from magician Harry Houdini to comic actor Charlie Chaplin and former president Theodore Roosevelt to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., plus music icons from all genres including Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, B.B. King, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, Lizzo and Harry Styles.

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX Premieres New Song, "Bonefire"

Progressive rock collective CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX will be releasing a brand new album, 'Banefyre,' on September 9 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the third new single from the offering, "Bonefire," which can be heard below.

Singer/percussionist Belinda Kordic explains, "'Bonefire' is targeted at the politicians, who’re some of the wealthiest people around, and also the most un-empathetic sons of bitches towards the poorest and most vulnerable in our society. These people in government have the power to change things around, make a difference, but they choose not to. It’s an ideological choice they make. The bottom line is.. these people just don’t give a hoot about anything but themselves. They are not all bad. But there sure are some rotten eggs. Chuck em on a fire of bones and let them contemplate on their actions for a while.

"Ps! No politicians were hurt during the making of this song."

Mastermind Justin Greaves adds, "This song makes so much sense to me. When Belinda told me what it’s about and sent me the lyrics, i saw how pissed off she is at the way things are with the ruling class. And so am I. And so are a lot of people. I mean, the song was written two years ago, and it was bad then, but now, especially here in the UK it has reached a new low when it comes to the massive class divide and the utter contempt the dumb government scumbags show to people. The people who are supposed to be taken care of. I personally think we should burn the whole damn political system down. Throw the politicians on the fire and cleanse the energy of the world."

Pre-orders for 'Banefyre' are now live HERE while the album can be pre-saved across digital streaming services HERE.

The thread that binds CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s bold and towering discography — a dozen studio albums, a half-dozen mini-albums, a handful of compilations and swaths of bootlegs — could not be more apropos circa 2022. Since its 2004 creation by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Justin Greaves, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX has served as the voice for the voiceless, whether it be animals, the unequal and the different. Greaves and longstanding vocalist and lyricist Belinda Kordic have often proffered that these beings cannot fend for themselves. Henceforth, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s mission has been to shed light on the human condition and the inequalities that befall humankind and its creatures. Their battle marches on with their latest studio album, Banefyre.

Banefyre follows 2020’s Ellengæst — an effort that found CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX employ a series of notable guest vocalists alongside Kordic, prompting Metal Hammer to describe it as their “most cohesive and emotionally devastating record.” Kordic is now paired with Swedish vocalist Joel Segerstedt, who made his CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX debut last year via the “Painful Reminder/Dead is Dead” single. Piano, synth and trumpet player Helen Stanley and additional guitarist Andy Taylor complete the lineup. Greaves says Stanley and Taylor “fit so well creatively,” which has made CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX feel like a band when making plans and decisions.

Also central to this is Segerstedt. According to Kordic, the vocalist and lyricist lives a mere five minutes from her in Sweden and has quickly integrated himself into the band. “What I like about Joel is that he’s a good person,” she says. “There’s no fakeness with him; he has cajones. He’s not a bitch-talker, either. I can’t handle people who don’t have a backbone, but Joel is real and can speak his mind.”

“I like how Joel has come in and spoke for himself,” adds Greaves. “He’s in the band for the right reasons. I see him the same way as Belinda — she took an interest in the whole artistic thing behind CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX, like the vocals, lyrics, artwork and aesthetic. It’s the same with Joel. He has taken an interest in all of those things. In the past, we had people who didn’t contribute artistically and only cared about what they got out of the band. But Joel is really proactive and takes the initiative.”

Greaves assembled 13 songs (including “No Regrets,” a bonus track for his new project with Kordic, Johnny the Boy) imbued with the depth and introspection that will reinforce CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s standing as a band that defies genre. The album was tracked at Chapel Studios in South Thoresby, Lincolnshire, with vocals cut at Monolith Studio and Kapsylen Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. Kurt Ballou handled mixing in GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts — a pivotal move in determining the album’s overall sound.

“I love the album so much because it was a different approach with the production,” says Greaves. “For my part, it was a little bit of a reaction. I didn’t want to do the same warm, safe CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX album. I’m aware that when we did [2012’s] I, Vigilante, everyone wanted I, Vigilante again. As it so often happens with this band, people complain about the next one, then grow into it. Ellengæst is like I, Vigilante. It’s a shorter album. It hit the mark and was done really well, but everyone will expect another Ellengæst. I feared that, but I care enough not to make another Ellengæst. It’s the right thing to do. That’s why we got Kurt to mix it — we wanted that analog, raw power. Even though the album has mellow moments, those are edgy as well. We just didn’t want to do the same album twice. We’re never going to be a band that people can rely on.”

Greaves’ summation of his band notwithstanding, his distinctive guitar playing and enduring knack for immersive songwriting is the propellent behind the haunting, chant-laden “Ghostland,” pensive “The Reckoning” and forlorn “Everything is Beautiful but Us,” the band’s spot-on analysis of the retreat of humankind indoors during the pandemic that revealed nature’s priceless beauty. The album is also stocked with no less than four ten-minute-plus cuts (“Rose of Jericho,” “Down the Rabbit Hole,” “I’m Okay, Just Not Alright” and “The Scene is a False Prophet”) that are intermixed with drama and melancholy.

It all ties into Banefyre’s central theme of the persecution of people who are deemed “different” by society. The album title is a play on the song “Bonefire” that Kordic named and wrote lyrics for. In classic CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX fashion, Greaves turned it into the Olde English translation to represent the bonfires that engulfed witches and politicians through the 15th and 18th centuries, hence, the name Banefyre.

The album begins with “Incantation for the Different,” which was written and orated by Chicago-based witch, artist, author and occultist Shane Bugbee, who, according to Greaves, “brought us some positive, dark energy.” Banefyre then delves into the Salem Witch Trials (“Wyches and Basterdz”), fox hunting in Great Britain (“The Reckoning”), politicians of an unscrupulous and dishonest kind (“Bonefire”) and the New York City Blackout of 1977 (“Blackout77”).

Greaves says Banefyre’s topics may have a decidedly negative and pessimistic tone, but a glimmer of hope and joy remains. “There’s always the random bits, but overall, Banefyre is about the people who have suffered because they are different. The album covers inequality and oppression, like ‘Incantation for the Different,’ which is about overcoming when you’re put down because you’re not like everyone else.”

In true CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX fashion, the Lucy Marshall-created Banefyre cover leaves plenty to the imagination, depicting four animals seated at a table — interacting and dressed like human beings. “It’s sort of like Planet of the Apes showing what animals could do to humans,” says Greaves. “The cover was specially commissioned and is unique to the album. It’s incorporating all the classic CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX elements with the love for animals and twisting the narrative around.”

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s reputation was built on the back of their studio albums and live shows. The pandemic prevented the band from supporting Ellengæst, but it did provide them additional time to bring in new members to their live configuration.

“We’ve done one show since 2019,” says Greaves. “We are going to do something in Europe this year. Hopefully, we can get back on track. We’re also going to do something in the States — that’s not just talk, we’re actually going to do it. It’s well overdue. The live band is fucking amazing. We have the five of us and now we have Jordi [Farré] on drums, Paco [Fleischfresser] on synth and a really good friend of mine, Matt Crawford on bass.

“We did the Leipzig show and even though the rehearsals were better than the show itself, that lineup, our live band, is so good. Because we haven’t been under pressure to put a live band together since 2019 and spent so long talking to people, we’ve got a better band from those results. Out of disaster, we’ve got quite a good, positive thing.”
