Blackened death metal band Consciously Dying released the first track, "Denial,"off of their debut album Bereavement A Guide To Loss & Grief
due out on July 1, 2022.

The music video was produced by Consciously Dying’s lead guitarist Denis Šerifovč and co-directed by Denis and Johannes (Burgi) Burgstaller of Vicious Eye Media.

Starring Aviv Hadari on Guitars and vocals, Gene Migaki on Bass, Denis Sheriff on Guitars and Ivan Lopez as the grim reaper.

Special FX by Or Mussman of Nocturnal Designz.

Bereavement was recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Adair Daufembachin Los Angeles California.

Formed in 2018, Blackened Death Metal outfit Consciously Dying hails from Los Angeles California. The band’s first EP Delusions was independently released in 2018. Since then Consciously Dying has released two singles entitled "COVID-19" (2020) and "We All Die" (2021).

Consciously Dying is a four piece live band ensemble that delivers live performances and conceptualizing dark art. Their debut full length album Bereavement, A Guide To Loss And Grief is scheduled to be released July 1st.

Outline In Color Drops New Single + Music Video "Quicksand" Feat. Michael Swank

Tulsa, Oklahoma, post-hardcore outfit Outline In Color has released their new single and music video "Quicksand" featuring Michael Swank of Foxera. Speaking on today's news, Michael Skaggs shares:

"'Quicksand' is about the moments in life where we become so consumed in what those around us are doing wrong, that we forget to look within. Often times when pointing out the flaws in others, we forget that we are sinking too. For me, this song was about processing trauma and learning to grow from the person I've been, and accepting myself for the person I'm becoming."

Friday, July 8 We'll be Releasing Our Version of The Band's "Ophelia"!

This song has been one of our favorites to play and sing in concert for a couple years now.  We love paying tribute to The Band, as they're such an influence on my songwriting and our approach to playing together, but I also love it because I feel like it allows each of my bandies to shine in the way they play and sing together.  This is the first release within the Album Project that tributes another band, I’m thrilled with how it came out, and I can't wait for you to hear it!

Melodic Death Metal Force BRYMIR Announces New Studio Album “Voices In The Sky” + Reveals First Single!

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, melodic death metal force BRYMIR take a stand with their most commanding full-length yet and Napalm Records debut, entitled Voices In The Sky, set for release on August 26, 2022. Formed in 2006, the five-piece – featuring lead guitarist Joona Björkroth (Battle Beast), frontman, writer and producer Viktor Storm Gullichsen, drummer Patrik Fält (Feastem, ex-Afgrund), guitarist Sean Haslam and bassist Jarkko Niemi – began to stir up the scene in 2011 with their debut Breathe Fire to the Sun, uniting folk metal influences with cinematic soundscapes and hard hitting, fast-paced melodic death impacts.

With an acoustic guitar introduction, the passionate, official first single and album opening title track marks an ode to heavy metal and precedes an epic, bludgeoning wall-of-sound with stunning instrumentation, blazing guitars and a performance of the most crushing drum-grooves imaginable!

Voices In The Sky marks a hefty next level creation in the vein of Ensiferum, Wintersunand Children Of Bodom, but serves as a more modernized answer to the melodic death metal equation with massive production, deep grooves and air-tight technicality. Nevertheless, BRYMIR continues to draw inspiration from traditional genres like folk and classical music, all brought together perfectly at the hands of the band and producer mastermind and singer Viktor Storm Gullichsen at JKB Studios, with mastering helmed by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios.

After the album opening title track, BRYMIR's outrageous outburst continues with full speed on “Forged in War”, featuring additional vocals of live session guitarist Antti Nieminen, who also contributes to folk metal-reinforced “Far From Home”. “Seeds of Downfall”, the record’s most aggressive and gloomy track, doesn’t lack once in the majestic arrangement arena – merging with heroic choirs and, together with “Landfall”, represents the technical brilliance of the unit at its best. AS I MAY Release Music Video for New Single "Traitors"

Finnish melodic metal outfit AS I MAY are back with a killer new single and music video! Hard-hitting guitar riffs and pop-hit vocal melodies grace "Traitor", a song with a hook so big that it will haunt you for days. "Traitor" is also a new step for As I May, with a distinctly different soundscape from their previous songs. The new track offers a lot more room to use vocal power and synths, while the guitars occupy a different role than before, and are well complemented by bass and drums.

The music video for "Traitor" was shot at the band's rehearsal space - which is actually an old military bomb shelter. This provided a great environment and feel for the cyber punk-inspired shoot. Fans can check out the new music video below.

BIO:

AS I MAY is creating fresh melodic metalcore that stands out from the scene, with creativity, authenticity, and first of all emotionality. The band was formed in 2016 in Mikkeli, Finland. The first album, 'My Own Creations', was released in 2019 (Rock Shots Records, Spiritual Beast "Japan"), with a European tour and big festivals booked to follow the release. Unfortunately, the pandemic came and had other plans - but the band used the time well. They would go on to write, record, and release their 2022 sophomore album 'Karu'.

The first single off their yet-to-be-announced third LP, "Traitor" was mixed and mastered by Rami Nykänen, whom the band has tapped to be at the helm for their upcoming album. 

Last summer, AS I MAY played one of the biggest festivals In Finland - "Kuopio-Rock". In July, the band will join SEMBLANTS on their first European tour, along with some late summer festivals in Callander.

Skin & Sorrow was fully written and recorded by Bilovecky and Strang from the third floor of their own studio, on the edge of Cleveland, surrounded by ancient lakes and woods that echo the howls of coyotes. The band is rounded out live by Jason Knotek on bass and Jon Vinson on drums.

The record follows Frayle’s groundbreaking debut 1692 in 2020 that further introduced the world to their penchant for creating “lullabies over chaos.” Tracks feature Strang’s ambient vocals laid over the voluminous instrumentals of Bilovecky (formerly of Disengage), morphing into disturbing harmonies best described as music for the night sky and are poised to dominate the doom circuit.

In addition to haunting original tracks that push heavy music into new dimensions (an inspirational mix of Sleep and Portishead, or Black Sabbath and Bjork), the duo is known for their cryptic covers including takes on Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire” and Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.”

Their passioned creations have caught the attention of Revolver who named the band “one of the five artists you need to know in April” as seen HERE, who called their previously-released title track “eerie and ethereal for its first half, but slowly lets more crunchy fuzz into the fold that builds up to a detonating finish with gobs of spiritual atmosphere.”

Recently, Frayle signed to The Oracle Management, now part of the roster that also includes Cradle of Filth, DevilDriver, Jinjer, Wednesday 13 and more hard rock and metal acts all represented by co-owners of The Oracle Management Dez and Anahstasia Fafara. Ginevra came to be after Kristian Fyhr sent Serafino Perugino, Frontiers Records President, some songs he had written for consideration to be used on future Frontiers' label projects. One particular song, 'My Rock N' Roll' jumped out at Perugino and he asked Fyhr if he would be interested in fronting a new band that would craft an entire album in a musical direction illustrated in that song, which was substantially different from Fyhr's main band Seventh Crystal. The final results brought Ginevra's sound under the same big umbrella of excellent Nordic melodic hard rock like H.E.A.T, Eclipse, Crowne, and the like, but without necessarily sounding like those bands. Ginevra is hooky and melodic, but mostly heavier and more guitar/riff oriented than traditional melodic rock. Perugino thought that Magnus Karlsson, who contributed to the songwriting for the album as well, seemed the perfect fit to play guitar for Ginevra and when approached about participating, he was keen on the idea.

With a powerful vocalist like Fyhr and a monster guitarist like Magnus Karlsson, whose resume speaks for itself, a top notch rhythm section needed to join the fold. Jona Tee, whom Frontiers has worked with as a musician and/or producer on releases from New Horizon, Crowne, and Temple Balls, recommended his H.E.A.T. bandmate Jimmy Jay for the bass position and he was the perfect fit. For the drum stool, Magnus Ulfstedt, who has played with Eclipse, Nordic Union, and Jimi Jamison, was asked to join the band and complete this excellent Swedish foursome.

Kristian Fyhr first came to the label's attention with Seventh Crystal, the other band he is lead vocalist for. Seventh Crystal's 2021 debut album, "Delirium" was a real breath of fresh air in the melodic rock scene considering the band managed to acknowledge the traditions of the genre, while also bringing in modern hard rock elements. Fhyr has also contributed to the songwriting of recent albums from the label, including Giant's "Shifting Time". The pairing of Fhyr's vocal and songwriting talents with Karlsson's stunning guitar playing and songwriting has birthed something truly special and melodic hard rock fans can look forward to yet another gem from the ever fruitful Swedish hard rock scene.

Doom Supergroup MMXX Drop "This Breath Is Not My Breath" Lyric Video — WATCH

Born during the initial lockdowns of Rome and New York City, and incubated as the seasons passed, doom metal supergroup MMXX represents the sound of global pandemic isolation. Joining Candlelight Records for the release, the band has debuted an ethereal new single with "This Breath Is Not My Breath," which features guest vocalist Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow the Sun).

On the new single, the band comments, "Essentially 'This Breath Is Not My Breath' is trying to tell the story of the hellscape that was January to March 2020 from the perspective of someone who first viewed COVID as a disease that is only really an abstraction and has zero impact and poses zero threat. [He] then gets sick and spreads the disease to everyone around him. The idea in the chorus is that your breath literally and metaphorically is owned by and only shared at the discretion of the disease. Your blood (body) is now a harbinger of other's suffering."

MMXX is Andrea Chiodetti (ex-The Foreshadowing) on guitars and keys, Jesse Haff on drums (Daylight Dies and Gökböri), and Egan O'Rourke (Daylight Dies) on bass. Together, they channeled inspiration for composition after composition to collaborate with a geographically, culturally, and stylistically diverse collection of celebrated vocalists and musicians from around the world. The end result is a dynamic and diverse sound, simultaneously densely heavy while retaining elements of etherealness and light, with each guest vocalist layering in their own perspective to culminate in this eclectic compendium of music reflecting an experience sadly understood by all.

This song surely gave the one or another listener goosebumps when being performed on one of AMARANTHE's breathtaking live shows, and now a transition of the feelings has been created by releasing a remarkable music video for "Crystalline".

The majestic interplay of orchestral arrangements and in turn distorted guitars is visually underlined in the new stunning music video and not least by the vocal performance between Elize Ryd and Nils Molin.

By releasing this music video AMARANTHE is taking the anthem to a new level which lets the song resurrect, supported by the passion and the emotions which can now also be transferred visually.

As many artists have experienced, the past two years hit the entire music and culture industry hard. But MY SLEEPING KARMA – they have truly faced the abyss. Formed almost 20 years ago as a strong bond of best friends with a steady line-up ever since, the band has amassed an incredibly successful back catalogue of five highly acclaimed records and a live album in 2017, as well as extensive touring performances at sold-out venues and prestigious festivals that have marked them as one of the most well-respected instrumental post- and hypnotic rock bands within the heavy music community. 

Atma describes the (absolute) self, the indestructible, eternal essence of the spirit, and is often translated as the "soul". Sickness, death, and existential fear had brought the band to a point in music and life at which they were close to parting ways. But their will to survive has been recorded on Atma – a record the band wasn’t even sure would see the light of day when they started working on it back in 2017, and if it did, would’ve never been for industry sales, fame or success. Atma tells the story of their lives, processing the trauma of personal tragedies, deepest pain and fear of four best friends that have been going through their darkest days since their band existence.

Prior to the dates in Mexico, GAEREA will be embarking on their first ever Latin America tour this November! Behind black shrouds of obscurity and desolation, the men of GAEREA deliver their odes in cascading maelstroms of aggression and beauty. Emerging from the age of pandemic to whatever awaits humanity next, the Portuguese horde remains on the frontlines of the next generation of extreme metal. With an EP and two albums to their name, GAEREA has rapidly distinguished themselves from the thousands of bands toiling away in the underground. Brewing their cauldron of sound from a recipe of pounding black-metal blast mixed with a touch of harrowed, reflective longing, many devotees of the darkened arts have flocked to their banner. With the emergence of third full-length album Mirage, those numbers are sure to grow.

Underground metal itself is a strange and cyclical beast. Trends come and trends go. But at no point in the genre’s history have we borne witness to what happened to the world in 2020. GAEREA met this challenge by releasing their second album, the aptly titled Limbo, to excellent world reception. In the meantime, they found the total suspension of interactive life as it was previously known to be the perfect breeding ground for further creation and making. As the troupe’s main songwriter elaborates, “I lost two precious years of my life, years that I would rather have spent touring and growing as an artist. But they were crucial for us, these years, because not too many bands stayed relevant and productive. The pandemic gave us the time to make the best release we could. All the promo-shoots, interviews, videos, we all had time to prepare for everything. Mirage was the product of a sudden inspiration. The basic parts were written over about two weeks.”

Such a stunning admission goes to show that art is fickle, and the artist is merely a vessel through which the sweet sorcery we call music may flow. It can mute itself to frustrating silence – or it can explode into being regardless of all consideration. For this band on the rise, it is most certainly the latter. Sizzling with ambition from day one, GAEREA may present one unique face to their audience, masked and enshrouded, but the truth is they have not remained changeless. “We are not the same band who recorded Limbo,” he insists. “We are more eager to take on the world. If the pandemic taught us anything it is that nothing is certain.”

This lack of certainty plays heavily into newest creation Mirage. As its name suggests, the inability to trust what our senses are telling us could be construed as one of the album’s central themes. Rather than constrict their art to mythological references or anti-religious tropes, GAEREA instead plumb the depths of the human experiences of isolation and suffering. “The concept, the subject, of each song is everyone, you, me . . . if people were alone together in Limbo, in Mirage they are truly alone. Nobody is truly real until they are alone.”

If existential dread could be turned into sound, GAEREA have carved their own philosophical path through its stygian tunnels. It isn’t Satan, demons, death, or even suicide that is waiting for us there. “What if people finally reached their goal,” he posits, “to end their suffering, and instead of dying they find themselves in a new reality, lost in a big city they were once a part of – they don’t know if anyone else is still alive. They are alone inside their own world.” This theme of being alone in a world full of familiar scenes, unable to end things and unable to reach anyone else, might well terrify the listener more effectively than any glimpse into the imagined hellscapes of our nightmares. Being isolated in your own world is the real nightmare, and GAEREA strum the chords of this horror with nuance and a miserable grace.

Boasting a superior production that threads the needle between clarity and causticness, GAEREA unwaveringly admit their loyalty to countryman and producer Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings. “Miguel is fantastic,” enthuses the band’s primary composer. “He comes from a brutal death metal background. I thought if this guy can pull off a punchy, modern, but still authentic production with a slam / death metal band, I wonder what he can do with a band like GAEREA. He has a vision for a sound, and that is what I really like. He is not a black metal fan, but it’s this very external set of ears and eyes from a guy who really knows his craft, and he brings all of that to our sound.” The fruits of this union are quite evident, as the turbulent moods of the title track are so wonderfully tossed between tension-building moments, and the explosive payoffs which set GAEREA apart from so many who try but come up short.

Tormented leads and building riffs sit atop some seriously explosive drumming, waxing and waning, on “Arson,” a tempest of moods and one of the album’s centerpieces. Emotion, at times sounding triumphant in brilliantly wrought guitar leads, is skewered by vocals that bustle with shattering despair. The dichotomy is magnificent to behold. GAEREA’s composer makes no mistake. “I want to hear the throat on the album, and if we are a vocals-driven band, I don’t want to over-process them during the recording. Striking that balance is one of the beauties for me in this record.”

In a world that increasingly elevates the shallow and the narcissistic, GAEREA pursues an artistic struggle of inward isolation, honest self-examination, and a dogged refusal to bow to the void that awaits. Thus, the persistence of their shadowed visages, draped in the masks which codify their anonymity while also creating a reliable extreme metal brand that fans can appreciate, especially in the live setting. “GAEREA are truly ourselves when we put these masks on, and we transcend into something different, and primitive,” he asserts. “It still makes total sense, and this band would not be a band anymore if we ever dropped the masks.”

As GAEREA prepares the release of Mirage, the world has resumed functioning, and as it lurches onward into its bleak future, one could stipulate that the pressure may be on to continue its rise amid the clamor of this renewal of activity. Does this challenge intimidate GAEREA? “We want to do better, but I don’t feel any pressure because we are in very good hands with the people we work with. We are building a strong team that really cares for us, stage-wise, promotional-wise, website and sales-wise. We are building a very structured confident teams that aims for the same goals we do. What I truly care about is continuing our ever-growing concept of the band GAEREA, and not becoming sterile, and I would not want people to be unaffected by our music. In the end we’re trying to express something within ourselves, and I don’t want it to be too complicated.”

The beauty of GAEREA lies in the directness and simplicity found within their florid tapestry of extremity and aggression. Whether it is in the less-polished aural dynamite of their self-titled EP, or in the lustrous textures of Mirage, GAEREA is building a mighty edifice of underground metal. With talons dipped in the inky blood of black metal and scraped across the flesh of human suffering, GAEREA is leading a charge into the future of darkness, and all those who find beauty and power in the dark side of existence would do well to take heed.

London-based alternative rock artist Grace Solero presents 'Metamorphosis', the lead track from the forthcoming album by the same name. Raw, grungy, dreamy and atmospheric rock, this follows earlier singles 'Orange Sky', 'Awake' and 'Lucid Dream' with the latter recently played on BBC 6 Music.

This 9-track offering was mixed by Chris Brown (Radiohead, Muse, Ride, INXS, Gary Moore, The Waterboys) and mastered by Andy 'Hippy' Baldwin (The Who, Interpol, Oasis, Blur, UB40, Stormzy) at London's Metropolis Studio.

Recorded and engineered by Jon Clayton (The Monochrome Set, Vic Godard And Subway Sect) at One Cat Studio in London, these songs were arranged and produced by the band members themselves.

"The album's title track 'Metamorphosis' was initially a guitar riff played by our drummer and multi-instrumentalist Dave. The whole band joined in and I added melody and lyrics. The verses are more introspective with the choruses turning into anthem-like explosive energy. It's about being bold in order to move forward," says Grace Solero.

Between their previous albums ‘New Moon’ (2009), ‘Hundred Years Apart’ (2013) and 'Awake’ (2018), the band has received BBC Radio 6, XFM and BBC London support and has been featured in magazines such as Classic Rock, Guitar Techniques, Powerplay Magazine, Sonic Shocks, as well as in Sonic Cathedral Webzine.

High energy and high on dynamism, Solero is a one-of-a-kind artist. With a mercurial voice of astounding range, her powerful stage presence points to dance, acting and gymnastics training. Conveying deep emotions, darkness and light combined, she shies away from the ordinary in her songwriting.

Solero's talent is matched by that of Californian lead guitarist / singer/songwriter Dan Beaulaurier, whose style displays a rare mix of technical mastery and real soul. Innovative Swedish bassist Bjorn Zetterlund and Welsh multi-instrumentalist Dave Guy on drums and percussion round out the band.

Solero's performances are highly dynamic and energetic, both sonically and visually. They've performed everywhere from intimate clubs to large stages in Europe, USA and Canada, supporting the likes of Motorhead's Phil Campbell, Alan Merrill (famed songwriter of the Joan Jett hit ‘I Love Rock ’n’ Roll’) , Bernie Torme and Arthur Brown.

Grace is currently collaborating on The Twilight Zone, a new project with Dan Beaulaurier and legendary pedal steel player BJ Cole (Elton John, Cat Stevens, Bjork, R.E.M). She also co-writes and performs with The Vibrators’ Knox and Mariangela Demurtas (Tristania), and has performed alongside Slade’s Noddy Holder, co-starring at London’s Union Chapel in a musical production of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.

The 'Metamorphosis' single is now available everywhere, including Spotify and Apple Music. The full ‘Metamorphosis’ album will be released on July 15 and can be pre-ordered from the artist's store or through Bandcamp. Montreal-based indie rock / post-punk quartet The Ember Glows present their new single 'Silent Love', a sonic exploration of steadfast love, the fragility of life and the power of silence.

With performances that make subtle use of dynamics and trace their roots to guitar-driven new wave, psych rock and 90’s British indie music, their recordings channel the feeling of being front and centre at one of their shows. The four-piece have crafted a sound that boast simple hooks, a pulsating rhythm section, textural guitar interplay and baritone vocals.

Formed in early 2019 by members of Montreal-based indie artists Room Control, REPO, Scene Noir and Citylake, The Ember Glows is Richard Bunze(guitar), Kevin Hills (bass), Martin Saint (vocals and guitar) and Dan Stefik(drums).

Long-time friends since their teenage years, personal chemistry and musical synchronicity brought them together as The Ember Glows. With all four of them also being part of other bands, what started as a side-project ultimately became everyone’s main music priority, fuelled by their jointly-forged sound and corresponding adrenaline. Each member brings something different to the table - Rich with his knack for texture and big sound, Kevin’s rumbling groovy bass lines, Dan’s manic and melodic drumming, and Martin’s delicate lacing of baritone and jangly guitars.

"This song came about when my ex-girlfriend lost her father last year. This is about how powerless one feels when a loved one mourns the loss of a close relative. The old clichés and platitudes won’t help but you still want to offer the gift of silence and love. Because it came from the heart, the song wrote itself. Even the first band run-through sounded good already. We all knew then it’d be a special one," says frontman Martin Saint.

Recorded at Closet Studios in Montreal, on 'Silent Love', the band wears their influences on their sleeves, with elements of Simple Minds, The Cult, Echo and the Bunnymen, early U2, Nick Cave and The Mission at the fore.

Guitarist Richard Bunze elaborates on this song's development, "After hearing the initial chord structure and vocal melody, I began playing a variation of my current guitar riff. I wanted it to sound wide and ethereal, with a driving gritty character and texture. I think we all added our own TEG stamp on this one!”

As of June 29, the 'Silent Love' single will be released everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp, where listeners can also find the band's latest 'Passerby' EP, available digitally and newly released on cassette.

Beloved Nashville Caterer's Porch Party Series Kicked off Last Friday with a Sold Out Event Benefitting the Nonprofit’s Meals 4 Health and Healing Program

One of Nashville’s most beloved caterers, Johnny Haffner, has selected The Heimerdinger Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing nutrient-rich meals and education, free of charge, for families facing cancer, as his 2022 nonprofit Porch Party partner. The fundraising series, benefitting the nonprofit’s signature Meals 4 Health and Healing program, kicked off last Friday at Haffner’s home in Greenhills with a sold out evening.

Each Porch Party includes a complimentary “welcome wine,” appetizers, and a gourmet five-course meal beautifully plated and featuring a seasonal ingredient. All Porch Parties will be on Friday evenings and start at 7:30 pm with dinner served at 8:00 pm. The table will be set with attention to detail under the candlelit chandeliers on Johnny’s covered, outdoor porch overlooking the garden of his home.

Tickets are $200 per person ($125 tax deductible). UBER/LYFT is strongly encouraged as there is limited parking. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite bottle of wine to drink. Meals 4 Health and Healing is a heart-centered, caring community preparing organic, immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory meals free of charge for cancer patients undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers. Since 2013, the nonprofit has served over 137,000 meals to hundreds of clients and their caregivers in Williamson and Davidson Counties.

Research shows that nearly 80% of cancer patients end up malnourished as a result of cancer treatment. Consuming nourishing meals can make a vital difference to cancer patients as they fight their illness and heal from treatment. With an emphasis on serving those who are in crisis, who have little or no caregiving support, or who are financially unable to provide themselves with nutritious foods, the program elevates the recovery process for many who may be at high risk for malnutrition, which can slow down or stop treatment.

In addition, with over 250 active teen and adult volunteers participating in their program each year, the organization educates those volunteers about eating a “whole food” diet to reduce inflammation and to reduce the likelihood of chronic, inflammatory conditions like cancer. By educating patients, their families, and the adult and teen volunteers who provide the giving hands and hearts behind the organization’s mission, the eight-person team at The Heimerdinger Foundation is transforming the health and nutritional choices of countless people in middle Tennessee.
