KAAPSTAAD offers sublime Nordic chill on sophomore downtempo 'Aula' single

"There is something in the spaciousness of this piano and beat-driven instrumental that captures more than just a vague feeling of relaxation... minimal structures perfectly describe windswept lands, its spacious ways conjuring big, star-strewn, open skies and wide-open spaces" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Both calming and meditative, raising vibrations... in one's mind's fantasy, sounds like a blend of Michael Nyman, Good Weather For An Airstrike, Elskavon and Endless Melancholy" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Kaapstaad creates music that evokes an emotional soundscape, that expands like a film score during the break of dawn" ~ The Manc Review

"Captivating atmospheric instrumental... revealing itself an imagination stoking piece of sound and drama intimation which is calm and suggestive yet with hints of shadow and drama" ~ Ringmaster Review

Not long after releasing his chill and immersive debut single 'Night', Sweden-based Australian artist Kaapstaad has released 'Aula', the latest offering in his quest to bring distinct lofi chamber beats from the Baltic and beyond.

After accumulating more than 1 million views on YouTube and 800K streams on Spotify with his band Tiny Fighter, Spelman used the downtime imposed by covid lockdowns to indulge his original passion for film & game scores. Moving between his two homes of Sweden and Australia, Kaapstaad took on a life of its own.

For 'Aula', Kaapstaad teamed up with British production company UNTHNKBLE to create a spectacular cinematic video featuring drone footage taken over epic, sweeping landscapes. His chiming notes and chilled textures seem to paint images of the Baltic landscape that conceived it.

An outlet for his more introspective, downtempo solo creations, Kaapstaad is the solo electronic project of Tim Spelman, the driving force behind indie pop outfit Tiny Fighter and post-rock project Fire To The Stars. This music is influenced by such notable artists as Neils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds, Ludovico Enaudi, BVG, Agnes Obel, Tibeauthetraveller and Grouper.

Both 'Aula' and ‘Night’ were performed, recorded and produced in Stockholm and Sunshine Coast, Australia by Tim Spelman. 'Night' was where it all started and, with support from Swedish collaborators Marcus Wallberg and Tommy Wilen, Kaapstaad became a project in its own right.

Tim Spelman notes, "Night’ was originally composed for a short film score that never saw the light of the day. Intended as a lullaby-meets-soundscape, the idea was to combine a simple melody with field recordings taken out in a Swedish forest at night - that's the rain, insects and crackles you can hear in the background of the song. Whilst the film soundtrack never eventuated, I was very happy with both the process and the product - something very different to the indie-pop/post-rock of my previous bands. So happy, in fact, it gave birth to an entirely new project - Kaapstaad."

'Aula is out now, available everywhere online, including Spotify and Apple Music, but is available to order directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

Alt-rock songstress AVA VOX weaves a chilling tale in new single 'Silent Tear' from debut 'Immortalised' LP

"Channeling the passion of Sinéad O’Connor with the raw delivery of Patti Smith. Ava Vox’s powerful voice and gravitas cuts through the fog of deception, and brings us to that awful emotional crossroads of vulnerability" ~ Post-Punk.com

"One of the most impressive musical debuts to emerge from The Emerald Isle this year... folks are in for a pleasant shock in the same way they may have felt upon hearing Siouxsie and the Banshees for the first time" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Like the long-lost love child of Nina Hagen, X-Mal Deutschland, Daniella Drax, Siouxsie Sioux, Lene Lovich and Lydia Lynch, Crash is a post-punk explosion of goth aesthetics, female empowerment and evocative, provocative theatrics" ~ The Manc Review

"Restoring Ireland’s reputation of a country that produces superb post-punk, first ignited like pioneers such as Blue In Heaven, Into Paradise, Whipping Boy" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Ireland's dark horse... a gripping and evocative performance overall" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Dublin alt-rock / postpunk artist Ava Vox presents the single 'Silent Tear', the latest dark rich offering from debut album 'Immortalised', an 8-track collection that is dark and delicious, gothic-infused and evocative of shady places and shadowed lands.

Launched in 2020, Ava Vox is the solo moniker of Elaine Hannon, formerly of 1980s gothic rock / post-punk band The Seventh Veil. A Dublin native, she now lives in County Meath. With a unique vocal timbre and commanding delivery, her musical style ranges from goth rock and post-punk to slow melodic atmospheric and dynamic rock.

The 'Silent Tear' video was produced by Jess Bernard with Miles Davis Murphy as director of photography and starring Leigh Mayon / Them Fatale. It was directed by Irish underground visionary Caoimhe Lavelle (a.k.a. Kwoo), a well-known Dublin-based artist, DJ, poet, cartoonist, and manager of the GAZE International LGBTQ+ Film Festival.

"Caoimhe put her own interpretation on Silent Tear, noting that she is absolutely in love with the song and felt it warranted something unique and artistic. I'm eternally grateful to Caoimhe and everyone involved in the production - they all came together and offered their time and artistic talents because they were really into this song and just wanted to support me," says Ava Vox.

Ava Vox earlier released the post-punk banger 'Crash' with Isaac Burke-produced video echoing an ominous warning about environmental devastation as the world crashes down, and 'Alone Again', which features bassist James Blennerhassett(Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithful, Van Morrison) and drummer Robbie Casserly (Elvis Costello, Mark Knopfler, The Commitments, Riverdance).

Apart from unique rendition of The Cure's 'Love Song', Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love' and David Bowie's 'Life on Mars', the noteworthy track 'One Sweet Goodbye'also involves a 23 Piece String Ensemble/Orchestra by the Four for Music Ltd, Sofia Session Orchestra based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

'Immortalised' was produced by Ray McLoughlin (RMC Recording Studios), known for his work with Cliff Richard, Daniel O’Donnell, Francis Black and Rick Astley, in addition to having been musical director for shows for RTE, BBC, PBS America and SKY.

At 17, Elaine quickly graduating from backing to lead vocalist of The Seventh Veil, which disbanded in 1991 after significant airplay, excellent reviews and winning the Battle of the Bands competition, the prize for which was recording time with Dublin producer Paul Thomas (U2, Kate Bush, UB40, Status Quo, Davy Spillane and Clannad).

The 'Immortalised' LP is available everywhere, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Together with band members Agris Siksna (aka George), Rick Johnston and Nigel O’Driscoll, Ava Vox will be playing a series of shows in Dublin, including the album launch at the Alternative Sunday Social Club at The Wild Duckon May 15 and Fibber Magees on June 1.

Jenna Paulette Drops Dreamy Western Ballad: “El Paso”

CMT Next Women of Country Class of 2022 Member
Selected to Sing the National Anthem at PBR World Finals on 5/13

Cover art by Ceci Mula

CMT 2022 Next Women of Country rising star and cowgirl Jenna Paulette is a part of the growing wave of artists rewriting the rules, charting their own unique path independently. With her first release of the year, Paulette drops dreamy western ballad, “El Paso,” romanticizing those she misses when on the road. Listen Below.

“I was on a flight from Marfa, Texas in 2017 after shooting my first music video when the idea for ‘El Paso’ came to me. It wasn’t until two years later while writing with Jacob Durrett and Robyn Collins that the song came to life,” shares the artist who Billboard celebrates for “traditional and contemporary influences” and “descriptive storytelling.” “The way I’ve seen the song connect to a live crowd is special. The song needed the right moment and I think this is it.”

Featuring a slower tempo than her most recent releases – like feisty “Bless Her Heart,” candid “Pretty Ugly” which logged eight weeks running on SiriusXM The Highway’s “On The Horizon” and viral track “Country In The Girl” – and included on Apple Music’s “Country Risers” and “New Music Daily” playlists as well as Spotify’s “Indigo,” “New Music Nashville” and “Texas Country Now,” Paulette’s vocals shine on the new track

You got both feet on the ground
I’m on the moon up so high
Shining down
On a different town
Just dreaming as big as the Texas sky
But now I’m missing home
While I’m out here on the road
Ooh, yeah
You’ve got a way with that lasso
Pulling me back to El Paso

Spotlighting her authentic western lifestyle and roots, Paulette has been selected to sing the National Anthem at the PBR World Finals in Forth Worth, Tex. on May 13. The singer-songwriter’s PBR performance will precede forthcoming appearances opening for Aaron Watson, Triston Marez and Jon Wolfe as well as a CMA Fest performance, Dam Jam Music Festival and more.

About Jenna Paulette
Named a CMT Next Women of Country Class Member of 2022, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette — a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life — is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Her finely calibrated blend of toughness and sensitivity is on full display in tracks like “Country in the Girl” and “Pretty Ugly” while former single “Bless Her Heart” unleashes the sass and storytelling gleaned from those who precede her: Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain, The Chicks. Paulette earned a marketing degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and ultimately settled in Nashville, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley, a veteran songwriter with 50+ No. 1 tunes under his belt. Since collaborating with songwriters like Will Bundy, Heather Morgan and Parker Welling, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey on his 2019 national tour, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery and Clay Walker, Paulette landed brand partnerships with Boot Barn, George Dickel Whiskey and Ranch Water, and ultimately signed a publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music last year. With more new music on the horizon, Paulette’s first solo release of this year, “El Paso,” is available now.

KURT DEIMER UNVEILS NEW VIDEO “HERO” WHILE ON TOUR WITH YNGWIE MALMSTEEN

Kurt Deimer is proud to announce the release of his new single and video, the hard-hitting anthem “Hero,” which he is performing live on the road in direct support of guitar icon Yngwie Malmsteen. The single is released today (May 6) on all digital platforms, and the video also premiers today on Brave Words. The follow-up to his ‘Work Hard, Rock Hard’ debut EP, “Hero” also features Deimer’s musical collaborator Phil X (Bon Jovi) on guitar, and production by Grammy Award-winning studio wizard Chris Lord-Alge.

Listen to “Hero”: https://ffm.to/kurtdeimerhero
Watch “Hero” below.

“I wrote ‘Hero’ to honor and thank all of the men and women who are frontline workers, who are first responders, who are in our military and our veterans,” explains Deimer. “Without them we could not live free, live safe, or be able to live peacefully in this world. I also wrote ‘Hero’ to point out that anyone can be a hero - your neighbor, the kids playing at the park, a co-worker. Everyday people. Someone gets hurt in a car crash, or is drowning, or needs help crossing the street… No matter where we are, the situation may arise for you to step up and be a hero. That is the essence of this song. Look deep inside, help others whenever you can, and you toocan be a hero. Don’t be selfish. Be kind. Be a hero.”

The song’s video adds a strong and inspirational visual element to the lyrical message. “My creative film partner and director Paul Boyd came to hang at my Cincinnati studio compound, and while he was there I said, ‘We have to shoot a video for our new single ‘Hero’, and we don’t have much time.’ Just like real life heroes don’t have much time to react when they help others, we reacted quickly and shot my footage in front of my green screen. I told Paul that I wanted the video to focus on real life heroes, which you see throughout the video, some current and some mixed from history. We shot Phil X with me in L.A. a week later before he left for the Bon Jovi tour, and our producer Chris Lord-Alge even showed up for a cameo! Heroes are on call 24/7, and we wanted our video to have that same vibe. We show the heroes in color and the performance video of me, Phil X and Chris Lord-Alge in black and white - we’re the same color as newspaper print, and we are telling the story…the story of heroes.”

Deimer, who made his live debut on the road with Geoff Tate in fall 2021, is currently supporting “Hero” and hisdebut ‘Work Hard, Rock Hard’ EP on the road in the U.S. as direct support for guitar icon Yngwie Malmsteen. “What an honor,” says the frontman. “He’s a master on the guitar, and we are bringing the rock and roll full force with style and flare, passion and expression. There’s no time to sit still.”

Grand Ole Opry Announces Initial Artists for Opry NextStage Class of 2022

Lineup Includes Elvie Shane, Morgan Wade & BRELAND

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Today, the Grand Ole Opry announced its initial artists for its Opry NextStage Class of 2022, an artist discovery program that spotlights Country music’s rising talent and highlights one artist per month with featured original content, an Opry performance and support across the Opry Entertainment platforms, which include the Opry, Ryman Auditorium, WSM Radio, Ole Red and Circle Network. Breakthrough artists Elvie Shane (May), Morgan Wade (June) and BRELAND (July) are the first three featured artists, with more to be announced throughout the year to complete the class with a total of seven artists. The artists shared their thoughts on the honor exclusively with the Tennessean.

“My Boy” singer Elvie Shane, who Billboard notes is “making the case for a new mainstay in country music,” made his Grand Ole Opry debut just over a year ago. He will return to the historic Opry stage on May 7 to mark his inclusion in the NextStage Class of 2022.

“The Opry has been at the forefront of keeping Country music alive and well since its inception,” says Shane. “I came from a place both literally and musically built on the same values and experiences. To be recognized by the Country music congregation that is the Opry is a huge honor.”

With a pulse on what is next in the Country music format and a deep commitment to supporting burgeoning talent, the program has cemented a strong track record in just three short years. The two previous NextStage classes have featured artists such as Parker McCollum, Lainey Wilson, Riley Green and Tenille Townes who all went on to earn ACM New Male and Female Artist of the Year trophies following their Opry NextStage debuts.

“Opry NextStage truly represents the depth of Country music and the future of the genre, and you’ll see that reflected in the composition of this year’s class—starting with these first three extremely talented artists who all come with their own unique artistry, perspectives, and backgrounds,” says Jordan Pettit, Director of Artist Relations & Programming Strategy for Opry Entertainment Group. “We are so excited to invest in this next generation of Opry performers who will help to shape the future of Country music and the Opry for many years to come.”

NextStage launched in 2019 with an inaugural class that included Green, Tegan Marie, Townes and Travis Denning. Last year’s class included Priscilla Block, McCollum, Niko Moon, Jameson Rodgers, Hailey Whitters, Wilson and Yola.

The Opry has helped launch the careers of countless artists, including Roy Acuff, Garth Brooks, Patsy Cline, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe and Dolly Parton, to name just a few. Award-winning group Little Big Town made its very first public appearance as a group on the Opry stage in 1999, and Carrie Underwood cemented a place in Country music with her first Opry appearance less than two weeks after having been named American Idol in 2005. It was with this grand tradition of artist investment that Opry NextStage was created.

About Elvie Shane
A native of small-town Kentucky, early touchstones like Dwight Yoakam, Steve Earle and John Fogerty joined Wheelhouse Records’ Elvie Shane’s Gospel roots to form the bedrock of his taste – along with R&B classics like The Temptations and modern superstars like Eminem. Shane’s new single “County Roads” is officially available at country radio now, and was one of the most added songs at country radio upon release. Co-written by Shane with Dan Couch and Oscar Charles, the new single is full of untamed energy, flying like an unguided missile of passion down “County Roads” and paints a picture of Shane’s early days in Grayson County, KY. Shane just celebrated multiple milestones with his hit single “My Boy” topping the charts at country radio and being certified GOLD by the RIAA. “My Boy” is taken from Shane’s just-released debut full length album BACKSLIDER. Shane co-wrote the set that embodies the crunchy hooks of classic rock, the nostalgia of country music as well as the emotional electricity of Gospel and R&B. Critics have already been quick to praise the cohesive set with the album landing on 2021 “Best Of” lists including Billboard, Rolling Stone and Nashville Scene. "If you listen to just one major-label debut by a dude this year, consider Elvie Shane’s” declared Rolling Stone, while Stereogum noted the record “forces you to rethink anything you think you know, or assume, about the genre’s Music Row bros.” Billboard also determined Shane is "making the case for a new mainstay in country music.” The singer/songwriter just announced he will launch his first-ever headlining run, with his MY KINDA TROUBLE TOUR set to kick off on 2/17 in Chattanooga, TN. The multi-city stint will see Shane play major cities including Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN and more, and will mark some of Shane’s first live performances of BACKSLIDER. Shane's picture-based lyrics and knack for storytelling lead to his signing with UTA and he has since opened for Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Brothers Osborne Brett Young and Lady A, to name a few. Shane also just wrapped a stint on the road opening for Brooks & Dunn on their 2021 Reboot Tour.

About Morgan Wade
With a commanding voice -- raspy and earthy, yet bearing bruises and scars that convey vulnerability -- Morgan Wade cut a striking figure when she emerged with her debut album Reckless in 2021. Pitched partway between Americana and arena rock -- a distance she navigated with collaborator Sadler Vaden, the guitarist in Jason Isbell's 400 Unit -- Wade blended her influences in a distinctive, emotionally candid way. A native of the small Appalachian town of Floyd, Virginia, Morgan Wade was drawn to music as a child. She wrote songs in secret, never attempting a public performance until she was 19, after she suffered a breakup during her freshman year at Roanoke's Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2013. Assembling a band via Craigslist, Wade cut her teeth performing in Virginia, eventually getting sober by the time she led her supporting group the Stepbrothers through the Puppets with My Heart album in 2018. Not long afterward, she received a lucky break. Wade played her hometown FloydFest in 2018, joining a roster that included Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. There, she met Isbell's guitar tech, who gave one of her CDs to Sadler Vaden, the guitarist in the 400 Unit. The pair started a collaboration, adding Paul Ebersold as co-producer, and worked on material for an album. The single "The Night" appeared in 2019, followed by "Don't Cry" in 2020, with the Billboard-charting full-length debut Reckless appearing on Thirty Tigers in early 2021.

About BRELAND
With his PLATINUM debut “My Truck,” singer / songwriter / producer BRELAND has emerged as a bold new force on today’s music landscape. The newly named Breakthrough Artist by Amazon Music first popped off when the Hip-Hop and Country hybrid hit #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 in 2019, and a remix featuring Sam Hunt landed on best-of-the-year lists from NPR to The New York Times. Debuting his brand-new song “Praise The Lord (feat. Thomas Rhett)” at the 2022 ACM Awards, the “symbol of Country music’s ongoing evolution” (Rolling Stone) will be featured on his highly anticipated debut album CROSS COUNTRY slated for release this summer. Featured on Dierks Bentley’s Top 5 and rising single with HARDY, “Beers On Me,” BRELAND also teamed up with Keith Urban for the buzzy track “Throw It Back.” Since signing to Bad Realm Records / Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville, he has collaborated with heavy-hitters such as Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Blanco Brown, Lauren Alaina, and Chase Rice, and scored high profile looks on The Kelly Clarkson Show, ABC’s 2021 CMA Awards, ABC’s CMA Summer Jam, CMT Crossroads, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, YouTube’s Artist on The Rise, and a Chevy campaign that launched during NFL’s season opener. Coined “1,000 percent the whole package” by Rolling Stone, he has three nominations for the upcoming fan-voted 2022 CMT Music Awards. He just wrapped Russell Dickerson’s ALL YOURS, ALL NIGHT TOUR and will hit the road this summer in addition to high-profile stages such as Tortuga Music Festival (4/9), Stagecoach Country Music Festival (4/29), Hangout Music Festival (5/21), and Tidalwave Festival (8/12). BRELAND is also recognized in the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s brand-new exhibit, American Currents: State of the Music.

Southern rock artist Cage Willis has released a new single titled "She Walked Away" to all major platforms. The single is from his full length album due out this summer! In support of the album release, Cage Willis will be playing a hometown show at Merchant Park in Mount Carmel, IL on May 14th.

“She Walked Away” is about having your heart broken, and living your life in fear of it happening all over again," says Cage Willis.

Cage was born and raised in Mount Carmel, IL. While working with his father roofing and remodeling homes in Wabash County, he squeezed in required courses to graduate from the local community college at age 18. He started playing guitar at 13. Heavily influenced by Lincoln Brewster, Cage would play big, heart-wrenching guitar solos at area churches. His authentic sound began to emerge.

During the summer of 2017, Cage crossed paths with drummer Cameron Allen. Jamming on the likes of Gary Clark Jr.Chris Stapleton, and The Marcus King Band, the two knew that they wanted to continue to play together. They first performed in early 2019 as a two piece at a “Battle of the Bands” in Evansville, IN. Bass Guitarist Andrew Logan joined Cage and Cameron at the beginning of 2020. Today, they continue to perform together live at local venues, and opening for acts like The Cold Stares even Hairball. Cage released his first single in early 2021. Over the course of the year, Cage recorded and released Bones (Our Town), an EP. His first full length album, a 10-track album, will debut Summer 2022.

Says LaMacchia, “Writing ‘Angels Delight’ with Candice Freshko was one of the greatest collaborative efforts I have ever been a part of. It was truly one of the most inspiring creative experiences I’ve ever had. It is the centerpiece of the album for a reason. Making the video for ‘Angels Delight’ was easy for me. All I had to do was capture Candice in her element. After shooting with her and watching the footage, I knew the focus of the video was going to be her breathtaking, and captivating performance.”

Adds Freshko, “Creating and making ‘Angels Delight’ with John was unexplainable. The energy, love and inspiration that was fulfilled helped me release demons that started to fester. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.”

Though he’s arguably best known as the guitarist for Brooklyn hardcore/prog-metal group Candiria, LaMacchia’s new solo material is unlike anything the multi-instrumentalist has done to date and shows a new breadth to his abilities.

In total, Thunderheads presents a far-reaching experimental indie rock vibe, with layered sonic nuances and male-female vocal interplay that presents a dimensional new palette that is comparable to Massive Attack, Doves and Radiohead.

Composed and recorded over the course of 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic break, Thunderheads plays like a lullaby for the apocalypse. With healthy doses of self-respect and emotional bravery that serve as a salve for our pandemic-weary heart, it allows listeners to escape a world that is falling apart with music and creativity.

In addition to John LaMacchia, who has recorded all of the guitars, vocals, keyboards and programming for Thunderheads, additional guest contributions come courtesy of Kellii Scott (Failure) on drums, Michael MacIvor (Candiria) on bass guitar, Mario Quintero (Spotlights) on keyboards and Andrea Horne (Vaureen), Candice Freshko and Sabrina Ellie on vocals.

Says Kellii Scott, “At the time when John submitted songs to me to play on, I was completely unfamiliar with his history and pedigree as a musician. That being said I did know that he had written some really great material, with great melody and arrangements and that I was going to have a fantastic time playing on his songs. In particular I found ‘Bled Out’ to be really inspiring to play, so much so that I channeled a drummer that I previously had never been.”

Presales for Thunderheads are available now at Aqualamb Records’ website with blue and pink vinyl variants, CD and digital options. LaMacchia is the new project led by musician and artist John LaMacchia of Brooklyn prog-metal’s legendary Candiria. The result is what we wish post-aughts music would have sounded like; layered with new-wave moodiness, and akin to Autolux, Massive Attack, Doves and Liars, to name a few. And with the musicians he sought out to fulfill that burden, including Kellii Scott on drums (Failure), Michael MacIvor on bass (Candiria), Mario Quintero (Spotlights) and vocalists Sabrina Ellie, Candice Freshko and Andrea Horne (Vaureen).

Essentially, each album's art and liner notes (traditionally confined to an LP gatefold, a CD booklet, or the screen of some music-playing device) are reconfigured into book form. Each book includes links to the music and digital content.

Whiskey Myers Expand Tour Ahead of July 29 TORNILLO Release

Whole World Gone Crazy” from Tornillo Available Now;

TORNILLO, Texas – With anticipation growing around their sixth studio album Tornillo, set for release July 29 via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records with distribution by Thirty Tigers, genre-bending band Whiskey Myers continue to build upon the growing success of consistently sold-out shows, including their upcoming sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre debut, adding over 15 additional dates to the Tornillo Tour this fall.

Tickets for the new dates are on sale to the general public Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. local time via WhiskeyMyers.com, with presale access available for members of the “Official Whiskey Myers Fans” Facebook page beginning Tuesday, May 3 at 12 p.m. local time. Additionally, Spotify will give the band’s biggest fans on the platform early access beginning Thursday, May 5 at 10 a.m. local time.

Last week, Whiskey Myers offered a further glimpse at full-length Tornillo with the release of “Whole World Gone Crazy,” with American Songwriter declaring in an exclusive premiere, “the bluesy-southern rock blending tune places Whiskey Myers in a league of their own with their signature hard-rocking sound on full display… Saddle up and settle in because Whiskey Myers is ready to take listeners on a country, rock, and blues-infused wild ride.”

“I wrote ‘Whole World Gone Crazy’ back in April of 2020. There was so much hysteria going on in the world before and around that time that this song just sort of came out of me,” lead guitarist John Jeffers shared with the outlet. “Between COVID and everything else, everyone seemed to be going a little nuts. I felt like during all of that, most people were, and still are, just normal people trying to make it another day. Trying to keep their job, praying to the big guy upstairs and working on getting through some crazy times.”

Written solo by Jeffers, who also sings lead vocals on the track, the song’s timely lyrics and sauntering rhythm build over three minutes into a blazing instrumental breakdown showcasing the band’s signature style, described by Esquire as “straight-up, booze-swilling, highway-driving, heart-on-your-sleeve, blood-on-your-knuckles country music.”

“Whole World Gone Crazy” follows prior Tornillo early releases “Antioch” and lead single “John Wayne,” both of which earned praise as part of Billboard’s “First Country” celebrating the best new songs each week, with the outlet celebrating the former as “a biting track” with “horns, grinding guitars and a solid background vocal chorus” and “meaty Southern rock and blues” and the latter as “nearly five minutes of righteous southern rock, which arrives via a swampy mesh of soul and funk,” continuing, “Cody Cannon’s raspy growl leads a flurry of sizzling guitar, thumping bass, swirling harmonica and flashes of horns, as this group continues pushing its boundaries.”

Tornillo offers the next chapter for the six-piece band that Cowboys & Indians declares is “on a course toward massive success” with Rolling Stone praising Whiskey Myers’ signature ability to “successfully blend hard rock and country twang” in a way that makes them “just as compelling, hard-rocking, and genre-crossing on record as they are onstage” as Billboard proclaims that the new music “is a worthy addition to the group’s already electrifying, rowdy live shows.”

Among the new dates on the fall leg, Whiskey Myers recently announced that their personally curated Firewater Music Festival will return for a second year, taking place Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2022, just outside Kansas City. About Whiskey Myers
Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played more than 2,500 live shows to ever-increasing crowd sizes since their emergence in 2007. Their forthcoming self-produced album, Tornillo, set for release July 29, follows their self-produced fifth studio album, WHISKEY MYERS, out now on the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records. WHISKEY MYERS debuted at No. 1 on both the Country and Americana/Folk sales charts, at No. 2 on the Rock chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart (No. 3 among new releases). Their previous album, Mud, reached No. 1 on the iTunes country chart with single “Stone” hitting Top 10 all genre. In total, Whiskey Myers have sold more than 1.2 million albums and amassed over 1.5 billion streams while earning three RIAA Gold certifications. USA Today describes the band led by frontman Cody Cannon as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.” The band known for their high-energy live show and unique sound has also earned sync success with features (and an on-screen appearance) in Paramount Network’s hit show “Yellowstone” as well as the Renée Zellweger-led Netflix series “What/If,” the Angelina Jolie film “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and hit CBS series “SEAL Team.”

Blending electronica and folk, Parabola West presents new album 'Stars Will Light the Way'

"A sublime blend of folk and electronic influences... beautiful and haunting vocals... Part Eivør, part CHVRCHES, but very much original"AnalogueTrash

"Brilliant ancient folk in electronic pop dreamery... merges Irish/Scottish and Scandinavian influences, with melodies that are stuff of fantasy"The Spill Magazine

"Deceptively simple but often stunning"NZ Musician

"Richly theatrical delivery and uncanny knack for blending genres.. both fantastical and invigorating" Big Takeover Magazine

New Zealand-based American folktronic artist Parabola West has released 'Stars Will Light the Way', a 13-track LP with cinematic sound offerings ranging from atmospheric pop to Northern European folk-influenced compositions, all recorded at the healing frequency of 432Hz. lovingly crafting the album for the last five years.

Parabola West is the artist persona of singer and songwriter Amy Tucker West. Drawing inspiration from Celtic and Nordic folk, as well as electronica, her organic sound is a lush soundscape of layered melodies and piano with a dash of fantasy.

This is the soundtrack of Middle-Earth, mixed in with elements of Loreena McKennitt and female-fronted synth pop / indietronica. Living completely off-grid in an eco-home up a misty mountain, Parabola West is entirely self and fan-funded as a 100% independent artist with no label affiliation.

A unique artistic offering, each song on this album revolves around a new character, for which Parabola West is visually transformed into Frozen Heart, Haunted Hannah, Moon Witch, Sky Painter, Melancholy Mermaid, Dreaming Dryad, Winged Warrior, Memory Mirror, Steampunk Sorceress, Flower Girls, and Nephilim's Daughter.

Earlier, she previewed the tracks 'No One Can Get Me Here', 'Calling Your Name', 'World of Ours' and, most recently, 'Hannah' - an ethereal tale of the thin veil between the physical and spiritual worlds, heightened by the use of the medieval hurdy-gurdy and the haunting Swedish folk instrument Nyckelharpa.

"This album has been collecting inside of me for a long time, and across a lot of different emotions. I didn't realise it as I was writing the songs, but there is a theme that emerges about the night sky and trying to find your way in the dark," says Amy Tucker West.

Originally from Springfield, MA (near Boston) and currently based in Raglan, New Zealand, Amy began songwriting on piano as a teenager and, at age 21, she was recruited into London-based trip-hop band Dreamfield. With two critically acclaimed releases to their credit before splitting in 2003, West relocated to New Zealand, taking a 10-year break from music to work in IT and engineering recruitment, returning to her musical roots in 2013 under the moniker Parabola West.

Parabola West released her debut 'Did You Hear?' EP in 2014, followed by her 'Purity of Weakness' EP in 2017. More recently, she also released the single and its vibrant live-loving video.

Lovingly crafting the album for the last five years, the new album was produced by Scott Newth (The Datsuns, System Corporation) at BLKHUS studio and co-produced by Andrew Newth with mastering by Chris Chetland at KOG Studio.

The 'Stars Will Light the Way' LP is out now on CD or digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. A deluxe CD package with 48-page hardcover fantasy book of lyrics and images has also been issued, limited to 100 copies, which sees Parabola West transformed by an amazing team of creatives into a different character for each song. It is available exclusively through the artist's Paraboland store.

Joe Bouchard, Former Member of Blue Oyster Cult, Releases New Single “My Way Is the Highway.”

Joe Bouchard, Former Member of Blue Oyster Cult, Releases New Single “My Way Is the Highway.” New Album American Rocker Drops June 3 Through Rockheart Records/Deko Entertainment.

Joe Bouchard is best known as a former member of Blue Öyster Cult. The original lineup sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as “Don’t Fear the Reaper” and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart “Burning for You.” Bouchard contributed to songwriting and lead vocals on some of BOC’s greatest songs, such as “Hot Rails to Hell.”

Bouchard releases his first single “My Way Is the Highway” from the forthcoming album American Rocker. The album is due out June 3 through his brother’s (Albert Bouchard) and his imprint Rockheart Records and Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group). Bouchard had this to say about it, “The song ‘My Way Is the Highway’ is a dream of tour destinations while cruising down the coast as the sun sinks into the Pacific Ocean. It is powered by the drums of Mickey Curry, and cementing the groove is brother Albert on his iconic cowbell--the original “more-cowbell man”! This song makes you want to put the pedal to the metal while you dance to the rocking music of the 70s.”

View and listen below.

Deko Entertainment president, Bruce Pucciarello, states, “The song ‘My Way Is the Highway’ teases my imagination. It conjures up images of times and places that feel like the essence of rock and roll to me.”

The new album American Rocker sees the return of Mickey Curry (Bryan Adams, Hall and Oates, Alice Cooper) on drums, and sees Bouchard taking a look back at the heyday of the 70’s with BÖC on tracks like “In the Golden Age,” and “Rocket to Fame.” Joe Bouchard will be joining his brother Albert Bouchard for select shows in North America and their first ever Bouchard Brothers UK Tour this summer.

After a two year break, I think it's easy to understand that everyone may be a little apprehensive, nervous, or maybe just flat out rusty from a 2-year break of not doing what we love, and LUCKILY we get to share this new beginning with some familiar touring friends in ABYSMAL DAWN! No one is going to feel all that embarrassed about if I can't remember how to set up a drum kit, or if Charles Elliott has taken on clean singing, or someone forgets where their dirty, sweaty, stinky, salty stage laundry goes in the van! (it goes in the trailer, dear reader, NOT the van. in a blue Ikea bag, if ya must know). Along with us comes Ottawa's KILLITOROUS, and TOMBS From Brooklyn, NY to shake things up with everything black, death, tech, doom, and straight out METAL! So come out and get up close and see what all 4 of these bands have been ruminating in for the past 2 years! See you on tour!"

Miranda Lambert Profiled on "CBS Sunday Morning" as PALOMINO Earns Additional Praise

MIRANDA LAMBERT PROFILED ON “CBS SUNDAY MORNING

Reigning Entertainer of the Year Discusses the Journey to Brand-New Album
Palomino with Correspondent Lee Cowan; Performs “In His Arms” & “Strange”

Eighth Solo Album Earns Additional Praise from
Stereogum, Billboard

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert appeared today on “CBS Sunday Morning” yesterday, May 1, in celebration of her new album Palomino, available everywhere now. The Texas native shared an expansive look at her storied career and the new project with correspondent Lee Cowan, discussing everything from her businesses and her marriage to her new album and passion for supporting rescue animals. Watch the full segment HERE.

“I’ve learned a lot about myself,” Lambert shared with Cowan when discussing the release of her eighth solo project. “I think at some point, you just start to settle into who you are. I think that’s why you feel that peace coming from me, ‘cause I feel at peace with myself.”

“You don’t have to be tortured to be good,” she added of the lessons she’s learned in recent years. “You can write a sad song and not have to live every sad song you ever write, you know? It’s an impossible way to live.”

The first female entertainer to have a presence on Broadway hosted Cowan at her Downton Nashville Casa Rosa bar and restaurant for the conversation, also performing intimate renditions of “In His Arms” and “Strange” from the venue’s stage. Lambert and Cowan also strolled down Broadway to a nearby Boot Barn where her Idyllwindclothing line is sold to discuss her passion for branching out in natural ways beyond music, including via her MuttNation Foundation in support of shelter pets.

The comprehensive segment comes on the heels of Palomino’s release, the latest in a critically acclaimed discography that has already earned substantial praise for the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history.

“Miranda Lambert is one of our greatest working songwriters,” declares Stereogum, while Billboard notes, “Lambert’s delivery is pitch perfect as she delivers some of her most on-point lyrics ever,” joining rave reviews from Esquire, L.A. Times, Variety, NPR, Paste, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Yahoo Entertainment and more.

Lambert will take the new music as well as her decade-plus catalog of hits on the road this spring as her co-headlining The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town kicks off in her home state of Texas this Friday, May 6, before she travels to Las Vegas for her recently announced Velvet Rodeo residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater this September, with dates scheduled through April 2023.

For more information on all upcoming dates and new music, visit www.MirandaLambert.com and follow on social media @MirandaLambert.

Country Music Icon Vince Gill Announces Four-Night Residency at Ryman Auditorium

COUNTRY MUSIC ICON VINCE GILL TO HELP
RYMAN AUDITORIUM CELEBRATE 130TH ANNIVERSARY WITH
FOUR-NIGHT RESIDENCY

Tickets on Sale Friday, May 6

Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium has announced a four-night residency featuring GRAMMY Award-winning, Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry Member Vince Gill coming this August, with special guest Wendy Moten, to help celebrate 130 years of the venue’s storied legacy. Gill’s Ryman Residency will mark his first solo performance at the Mother Church since two back-to-back sold out shows in 2007. The residency takes place August 4-7, and tickets go on sale Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. CDT at ryman.com.

“Of all the great concert halls in America and throughout the world, the Ryman is by far my favorite,” says Gill. “I knew it was a unique venue the first time I set foot on the stage over 30 years ago. It was just me and an acoustic guitar and to this day that moment was like nothing I’ve ever experienced.”

Already a fixture on the Ryman stage with his wife Amy Grant and their annual ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ shows and many appearances at the Ryman’s annual Bluegrass Nights series, Gill’s residency adds to the Ryman’s 130th anniversary celebration. The hallowed venue will mark this milestone with more concerts and residencies than ever before, new daytime tour experiences, and community events. Gill joins the growing list of 2022 Ryman Residencies, including Dwight Yoakam (Jan. 19-21); Tedeschi Trucks Band (Feb. 22-23, 25-26); Billy Strings, who kicks off his residency (May 6-8); and more residencies to be announced.

“To have Vince be a part of our 130th-anniversary year with a four-night Ryman Residency is so incredibly fitting and such an honor,” says Chrissy Hall, Director of Concerts for Ryman Auditorium. “He has a deep love for the building and the magic that happens here. We are beyond excited to welcome him back to the Ryman stage for such a historic milestone.”

Since the first concert on May 4, 1892, the Ryman has celebrated an array of entertainment acts and all genres of music on its hallowed stage – from magician Harry Houdini to comic actor Charlie Chaplin and former president Theodore Roosevelt to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., plus music icons from all genres including Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, B.B. King, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, Lizzo and Harry Styles.

OBSIDIOUS Releases Brand New Single, "Bound by Fire"

Modern progressive metal masters OBSIDIOUS are now releasing a brand new single, "Bound by Fire," which can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

OBSIDIOUS comments on the dark lyrical themes of the track: "Another song with descriptive lyrics, this time dealing with a subject, unfortunately, on everyone's lips at present: the horrors of wars and armed conflicts. The suffering of innocent people who have little or nothing to do with it, seeing their lives cut short. People who see their comrades die and, in other cases, are even forced to kill people they knew or were friends with just because they were on the opposite side. Killing or dying for something they did not start. One of humanity's most brutal dichotomies.

"Bound by Fire" is taken from the band's upcoming debut album, 'Iconic,' which will be released on October 28, 2022! Pre-orders will be launched soon!

Pre-save "Bound by Fire" across all streaming services HERE.

In April 2020 guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer and drummer Sebastian Lanser decided to move on from their former band OBSCURA to continue their musical path with the completely new band OBSIDIOUS. Free from former boundaries, OBSIDIOUS merge extreme metal with other genres of music into a unique style that people will somehow find familiar, but haven‘t heard yet. Together with their singer Javi Perera they set out to create a musical evolution: With a fresh name, reaching for new fan groups utilizing modern marketing ideas. OBSIDIOUS’ band members have many facets and influences to build upon, using virtuosity & technique to write great songs.

Rafael Trujillo, Linus Klausenitzer and Sebastian Lanser built a strong bond after years of worldwide touring and recording together with OBSCURA. With their last record “Diluvium”, that was primarily composed by the trio, the band celebrated their biggest success to date. Formerly unseen chart positions alongside massive praise by prominent media outlets & magazines document the success of this team. OBSIDIOUS aims to expand the existing fan base that they’ve gained: All (ex-)formations of the Obsidious members were defined through their musical characters.

The four band members that are based in Europe are known for their high musicianship and virtuosity. Their advanced technical level is an essential and unique part of their compositions. Guitarist Rafael Trujillo has a multicultural background and studied music in different countries all around the globe. Linus Klausenitzer is one of the busiest session bassists in the scene and renowned for his 7-string fretless bass sound. Strong drum independence skills and stylistic diversity make Sebastian Lanser one of the most influential drummers of the new generation. The web community shares the Ex-Obscura members’ excitement about singer Javi Perera being celebrated for his diverse and charismatic vocal skills.

OBSIDIOUS' music consists of modern riffs, strong decisive energetic melodies, virtuosity and epic unison lines. They love music that’s heavy, catchy, fast, and wild. The brand new album is currently being recorded and will be released via Season of Mist early 2022.

WATCH Awake At Last - Bloodline (Official Music Video):

Awake At Last returned with a new single "Bloodline" on April 29th. Produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Black Veil Brides, I Prevail), the hard-hitting track contains plenty of angst at the current state of the world. “Bloodline is written from a perspective of frustration, and a reluctance to accept the current state we all live in. The song questions the media, and how during such a dark time people seemed to be more divided than ever, rather than come together. It asks the question of whether or not we can learn from history, or if we are doomed to repeat it. I wanted it to connect to the listeners who couldn’t help but worry about what is going to happen next and whether or not we can rely on the current state of media and information to be prepared for it.” - says the band's vocalist, Vincent Torres.
