Wisconsin-based heavy metal outfit LORDS OF THE TRIDENT have released the second single from their upcoming studio album, 'The Offering'. The new track, "Charlatan", is out today - along with a thrilling new music video. "Anyone who's seen a live Lords of the Trident show knows that we're no stranger to pyrotechnics. This video was shot in complete darkness, with the only source of light coming from the burning cannon fuse! The plant in China that makes this specific type of fuse burned down in 2019, so we only have enough fuse for one take each. ...it took us a few takes (and a lot of coughing) to realize we should've probably opened a window during filming."

As Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery’s fastest rising single of his career reaches the Mediabase Top 30 and continues climbing, the multi-Platinum selling singer/songwriter premiered the official music video for “Damn Strait” yesterday evening via YouTube. Watch the video HERE.

Filmed in the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, where George Strait himself played for years honing his craft before landing a record deal and becoming the King of Country Music, the video was directed by Austin, Texas-based filmmaker Jeff Ray, who has collaborated with McCreery on the videos for “Five More Minutes,” “This is It” and “In Between.”

The video served as McCreery’s first visit to the legendary venue, and the video, like the song, pays homage to Strait, showcasing photos and memories from the beginning of his decades-long career while McCreery and band perform on the famed stage.

“‘Damn Strait’ is both a classic country heartbreak song as well as a tribute to George Strait,” said McCreery. “I knew I wanted to film it at a place that paid respect to both elements of the song. When my director Jeff Ray suggested Gruene Hall, where George performed regularly with his Ace in the Hole Band before becoming the legend that he is today, I knew that was the perfect location. You can feel the history and the music of country music’s past and present in every inch of that venue. I’ve wanted to visit Gruene Hall for a long time, and now that I have, I’m looking forward to eventually coming back there to do a show.”

Upon the song’s release, Rolling Stone named it a “Pick of the Week” calling it “clever songwriting, delivered by one of the genres’ best King George disciples,” while Billboard praises, “Another ace is the clever track ‘Damn Strait,’ a rare outside cut on the project, penned by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins, in which McCreery name checks several of King George's greatest hits.”

“Damn Strait” follows McCreery’s fourth consecutive No. 1 single “You Time,” also from his fifth studio album Same Truck. Released in late 2021, the Garner, North Carolina native shifted his perspective to reflect on the last decade of his career and life with wife Gabi and dog Moose, with Tennessean sharing, “McCreery walks a sonic tightrope that leans into his country influences while not abandoning modern Music Row hitmaking,” while Sounds Like Nashville observes, “with 12 tracks in total, those songs ended up showing more maturity than ever, and exploring everything from the common bonds his fans share to the eternal flame of romance.”

Same Truck was produced by Frank Rogers, Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, the team who produced his previous project, the RIAA Gold-certified Seasons Change which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and contained three consecutive No. 1 hits: the Double RIAA Platinum-certified “Five More Minutes,” Platinum-certified “This is It,” and Gold-certified “In Between.” McCreery co-wrote every song on that album.

Morgan Wallen’s DANGEROUS Kicks-Off at Madison Square Garden w/ 13,237 Strong

Clad in a flannel cut-off shirt, denim jeans and boots, Morgan Wallen opened his Dangerous Tour at Madison Square Garden tonight, the first stop on his 54-city trek across the country. With a decibel level averaging 30dBs louder than the average game at the arena, the songwriter/superstar eased into the night opening the show with current single “Sand In My Boots” solo on piano before asking the crowd, “What you say we do something country in New York City tonight?”

And that’s exactly what the 13,237 crowd did. Showing up early, by 8 pm the crowd was at 92% capacity, a full 75 minutes before their headliner took the stage.

“My name is Morgan Wallen,” he said introducing himself, three songs in to his 23-song-set. “We were supposed to start our tour in Indiana, but the good Lord had other plans, so for 2022, our first show is right here in Madison Square Garden,” before grinningly adding, “Make it hard for the next people who come see us on tour.”

Broken into four quarters and overtime, with two surprise guests (ERNEST on “Flower Shops” and HARDY on “He Went To Jared”), the sold-out crowd was treated to music spanning both of Wallen’s albums, 2018’s If I Know Me (“Chasin’ You,” “Up Down”) and 15 songs from 2021’s 33-song Dangerous: The Double Album. During “7 Summers” fans mimed the lyrics and facetimed those at home, and during “Cover Me Up” phone flashlights stayed on while Wallen confessed, “this is one of my favorite songs to sing.”

As he dove into his final two songs (“Wasted On You” and “Whiskey Glasses”) standing on the edge of his stage, the boy from East Tennessee said in closing, “I never thought I’d be doing this. You all are incredible.”

After coming to America, he was introduced to a wider range of music that inspired him: eighties and nineties rock including Guns N’ Roses and notably Queen. Just like Freddie Mercury’s parents, Ehab’s parents didn’t agree that a life in rock ‘n’ roll was the best thing for their son. Ehab and Nick performed together in various bands (channeling Iron Maiden,Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Alice In Chains) and eventually joined Justin and Tom who had been working on their own band (influenced by Van Halen and Black Sabbath). Justin, who was at the time attending Berklee College of Music, describes first writing with Ehab and noted “The first jam was crazy. He came over with Tom and just listened for a while. We had the riffs to songs, and he just immediately started singing. Here I had gone to music college to find people I could mesh with stylistically, only to come back home and find that my best friend and a singer that I had already known about were all I needed!”

The band has recently performed on high caliber Rock festivals including Aftershock, Louder Than Life, and Riff Fest and alongside bands like Evanescence & Alice Cooper, Puddle of Mud, Red Sun Rising, 10 Years, Blacktop Mojo.

On their previous record, The Talk, the musicians headed to Los Angeles to record with legendary GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Greg Wells [Adele, Twenty One Pilots, Deftones]. “When I first heard the band, it had its own original identity,” explains Greg. “That was something I had waited years to find. I emailed them back saying, ‘I want to be your Mutt Lang’.”

Dublin's Ava Vox presents her new single 'Alone Again', a slow-paced haunting hymn and the second taste of her forthcoming debut album 'Immortalised', slated for release in late March.

This song features bassist James Blennerhassett, who has worked with Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithful and Van Morrison, as well as drummer Robbie Casserly, who has worked with Elvis Costello, Mark Knopfler, The Commitments and Riverdance.

"The song 'Alone Again' is about an abusive relationship, where the victim eventually gets the courage to escape from their abuser. Once away, they realise it was the right thing to do for them, and they feel happy and safe at last. But then the abuser lures them back again, saying they will change, it will never happen again," says Ava Vox.

Ava Vox recently released the single 'Crash', a post-punk banger with lively video, produced by Isaac Burke, sending an ominous warning about environmental devastation - a visualization of the world crashing down. In early 2021, she debuted with a cover of The Cure's 'Love Song' and her 'Strange Days' single, which included her rendition of Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love' and Bowie's 'Life on Mars'.

The 'Immortalised' LP was produced by Ray McLoughlin (RMC Recording Studios), a musician / producer who has performed or recorded with innumerable artists from Cliff Richard, Daniel O’Donnell to Francis Black and Rick Astley.Having toured worldwide, performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie and the Sydney Opera House, he has also served as musical director for shows for RTE, BBC, PBS America and SKY.

A Dublin native, Ava Vox (real name Elaine Hannon) now lives in County Meath. While involved with various music projects in the past few decades, her Ava Vox persona emerged in September 2020. With a unique vocal timbre and commanding delivery with a dash of goth rock and post-punk, her musical style ranges from slow melodic atmospheric to dynamic rock.

Venturing out as a vocalist at 17, Elaine quickly graduating from backing to lead vocalist. In the mid-1980’s, Elaine formed gothic rock / post-punk band The Seventh Veil, which ultimately disbanded in 1991. After significant airplay and excellent reviews by the likes of Hot Press Magazine, Eamonn Carr, and the Evening Herald, the band won the Battle of the Bands competition, the prize being recording time with Dublin producer Paul Thomas, well known for his work with U2, Kate Bush, UB40, Status Quo, Davy Spillane and Clannad.

As of February 9, 'Along Again' will be available across online stores and streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full 'Immortalised' album will be released on March 25.

ONI Release New Track 'The Lie', Co-Produced By Mark Morton & Josh Wilbur

Progressive metalcore outfit, ONI, have today kicked off a brand new chapter with the release of ferocious new single, "The Lie", via Ironshore Records. The track marks the first new music from Jake Oni, ONI's frontman and creative mastermind, since the band's 2019 standout single, "Alone" and their highly acclaimed 2016 debut album, Ironshore (Metal Blade). The new track was co-produced by Jake's musical ally and good friend, Lamb Of God axe-man, Mark Morton, together with renowned producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Trivium, Gojira).

Jake and Mark previously collaborated on the latter's debut solo album, Anaesthetic, with Jake executive producing and co-writing the collection's #6 Active Rock track, 'Cross Off' with Morton, Wilbur and the late Chester Bennington.

Speaking about the brand new song, Jake Oni shares;

"I'm really proud and excited to release "The Lie" - our first new song in over 2 years. I wrote this one with Mark Morton and Josh Wilbur and it was one of those songs that kind of wrote itself. I've been working really hard over the last year and can't wait to start releasing new music for everyone. "The Lie" felt like the best track to kick off the next chapter of ONI."

ABOUT ONI:

In modern times, the demonic ONI figure of Japanese Folklore transformed into a personification of protection, often adorning rooftops or leading festive parades to ward off evil. In this same spirit, the crushing aggressive music of ONI, the band, acts as an empowering weapon. ONI casts out the cruel demons of self-hatred, addiction, and whatever destructive obstacles one might face.

The band Metal Injection described as “key figures in paving the way for a new wave of progressive metalcore,” is led by frontman Jake Oni, who summons cathartic anthems from personal pain. In 2014, Jake first conceived of ONI as “the band I never got to see,” recruiting different players with technical skills to make music that shook the foundations of the scene. After a few months of secretive work in the studio, the reunion of Grönwall and Tee brings us a true metal record which will leave an unexpected imprint on the power metal scene. The seeds of NEW HORIZON were planted in Jona’s youth given that he grew up listening to (and still loves) Iron Maiden, Helloween, Hammerfall, Manowar, Edguy, and the like. Heavy metal is in his blood and New Horizon is something that is flowing through his veins and extremely close to his heart. He always dreamed of releasing his own power metal anthems one day. When asked about the sound of New Horizon, Jona Tee describes it as "a mix between classic power and heavy metal, with a touch of 2021.”

The initial idea for New Horizon, at first, was to have several lead vocalists perform on the album; however, that changed when Erik Gronwall came to the studio to record two songs for the album. Despite Erik having recently departed H.E.A.T, both guys felt the need to continue working together. The songs Jona had written for the debut New Horizon album were 'a match made in hell' for Erik’s voice. Since he is an insanely versatile singer who could give the project a more band-like feel, Jona knew he was the man for the job. Sharing Jona's passions for the genre, Erik gladly joined NEW HORIZON and delivered the vocal beast that lay inside him to bring Jona's power metal vision to life. With the recording of those two initial songs, they started brainstorming and visualizing a future together under the banner of New Horizon...and they liked what they heard and saw.

“It felt so natural to continue working together. We have toured together pretty much all over the world and released music together for a decade. Jona is truly like my brother, by blood, and New Horizon will be the catalyst for us to release great metal together and just have fun,” says Grönwall.

SILENT CURE presents debut LP 'An Electronic Jazz Punk Passage Through Dreams'. Preview 'Silent Love Song'

Danish electronic artist Silent Cure has announced his debut album 'An Electronic Jazz Punk Passage Through Dreams', which involves vocalists from various distant shores - Spain, Italy and Canada. This long-player was mixed and mastered by Alberto Pretto at Blackhead Studios Berlin and Multi-Platinum producer-mixer Yoad Nevo (Pet Shop Boys, Sia, Ed Sheridan, Moby, Bryan Adams, Sugababes, Goldfrapp).

The lead track 'Silent Love Song' features Barcelona-based artist M-Ana, who contributes vocals and lyrics for this song. With a palette mainly instrumental in nature, this album also features several other vocalists. including Vancouver songstress Elisa King, who co-wrote and sings in tandem with Silent Cure on 'So Annoyed', and Italian vocalist Serena Masciarelli on 'Settimana A Diano Marina'.

As a music producer and digital collage artist, this project entails the realization of a lover of art in all shapes, colours and sounds. This 12-track offering combines electronic music with elements from pop, rock and jazz music with notable inspirations drawn from such artists as Massive Attack, Moby, Vitalic, Ladytron, Jean-Michel Jarre and The Orb.

New only in name, Silent Cure is a veteran electronic music producer with over three decades of music-making informed by a broader grasp of and special love for multiple genres and artists with a penchant for blurring the borders between them. The result in an album that, while diverse in scope, is still widely accessible.

"I felt it was time to move out of my comfort zone being a part of the electronic underground scene for many years and challenge myself with something new. I listen to all kinds of music at home so the inspiration comes from many places over many years," says Silent Cure.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Silent Cure thrives in the realm of tasteful sound designs with attention to small details, these sonic tapestries inviting the listener on a journey into and through various moods.

Ambient downtempo tracks like 'Silent Love Song' and 'So Annoyed' show the artist's softer side, juxtaposed by upbeat electroclash / retrowave-inspired tracks such as 'Synthwave Retrospect', 'Gratitude' and 'Symphony Octobre'. In contrast, the melancholic yet endearing 'So Annoyed' is about a couple that have clearly spent too much time together under lockdown conditions.

The album 'An Electronic Jazz Punk Passage Through Dreams' will be released on February 11 across digital platforms, and can be ordered directly from the artist via Bandcamp. A limited edition vinyl release is anticipated at some point in future.

Messer continued their momentum from their breakout year with the release of "Simple Man", the 3rd single and video from their self-titled debut album, which bowed at #3 on the Soundscan New Artist chart and was named "New and Noteworthy" at iTunes and Amazon Music. The band was relentless touring hard in 2019, opening for Pop Evil, Scott Stapp, and headlining their own tour. Messer played more than 250 shows in 2019, including a 40-city sold out tour with RED and Lacey Sturm. The band was personally invited by Kevin Lyman to play the Texas leg of the final Vans Warped Tour.

The band's cutting-edge modern rock sound was born through serendipitous connections in the thriving Deep Ellum music scene of Dallas, an area that has given rise to iconic Hard Rock and Metal bands like Pantera, Drowning Pool, Hell Yeah, and King's X. The band grew their fan base locally, and began to branch out regionally and nationally, opening for notable bands such as Sick Puppies, Candlebox, Hinder, Vince Neil, Black Stone Cherry, Drowning Pool, Metallica, Scott Stapp Of Creed, and Avenged Sevenfold, among others. It was on one of these tours that the band caught the attention of Los Angeles based writer/producer, Chad Gendason. The band felt an immediate camaraderie with Chad and a lasting bond was made. Messer started writing with Chad, and their first collaboration became "Simple Man". Fan favorite "Whiskey" soon followed and the songs started to flow into what would become their self-titled debut album "Messer". The album was mixed by Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed) and mastered by Tom Baker (Papa Roach, David Bowie, Motley Crue).

Genre-blending rap and rock artist Call Me Karizma has today released his latest single and music video, "Dead Body" (via Thriller Records). “I wrote Dead Body last July with my friends Skimmy & John Gomez. We drove up into the mountains in California, rented a cabin & wrote Dead Body the first day. I got to perform it live at my concerts in Russia, but the first time I’ll get to play it in front of a U.S. audience will be this tour starting this month. SWANFEST, the one-day festival headlined and curated by Dance Gavin Dance, has announced the new lineup for the rescheduled event taking place at Heart Health Park, in the band's hometown of Sacramento, CA on Saturday, April 23rd.

Since their inception in 2005, Dance Gavin Dance has steadily built a huge cult following. Blending complex instrumentation with huge poppy choruses and raw, aggressive screams, they have fathered an entire genre of their own characterized by their signature combination of elements of post-hardcore, math-rock, progressive-rock, and post-rock. This has become aptly named 'Swancore' after the band's virtuoso guitarist, Will Swan and his record label Blue Swan Records.

Dublin's Cat Dowling has released 'All The I Can Do', the fourth single from her new ‘Animals’ LP, released digitally on January 28 via Forever In Financial Arrears Records (FIFA Records).

While a dance song, ‘All That I Can Do’ is also an intimate declaration of love. Cat Dowling notes, “All that I can do is give you my love” the songs opening line captures the meaning of this song. “Love is the greatest we can offer anyone and that includes ourselves”.

The new 11-track long-player was produced by Gerry Horan with Dowling as co-producer, and mixed by Ger Mcdonnell (The Cure, U2, Van Morrison, Martha Wainwright, Shane McGowan, Sinead O'Connor), This album was partially recorded at Crossroads Studio in her native Kilkenny with support from Ireland's Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.

Lauded as one of the most wonderful and evocative vocalists in Irish contemporary music, Dowling's beautifully dark pop songs and husky, achingly intimate vocals will grip you from the outset. The former Babelfish and Alphastates frontwoman creates well-crafted songs that inspire.

Earlier, Dowling released the singles 'Animals', 'Freedom' and ‘Trouble’, the video for which was created by BAFTA award-winning director Fergal Costello, recalling a dark, comedic and violent tale set outside of 1981 Belfast.

In 2013, Dowling debuted with ‘The Believer’ LP, ranked in numerous ‘Best of Year’ music polls, including The Sunday Times. The title track featured in the second series of ‘Banshee’, produced by Alan Ball (Six Feet Under, American Beauty, True Blood) and the ‘Witches of East End’ TV series, featuring Julia Ormond. The song ‘Somebody Else’ was also used in ‘My name is Emily’. Cat has also lent vocals on many collaborative projects, including for ABC’s ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ with Emmy-winning actress Viola Davis.

FIFA Records is a steadily expanding label, who have continuously worked with exciting new Irish talent (Fight Like Apes, One Morning in August, Klubber Lang, Hope is Noise, Dae Kim, Lorraine Nash), as well as releasing material from more established names on the Irish indie scene, such as The Frank & Walters, Emperor of Ice Cream, August Wells, Power of Dreams and Whipping Boy.

Established in 2015, REdEFIND is a massively dynamic quartet based out of Greenville, South Carolina.
