PHARMACOSE Releases Official Single for "Smash;" Highly Anticipated 'Prescription Fiction' LP Due Out Spring 2022

Jacksonville, FL Alternative Rock project PHARMACOSE has revealed their newest single, "Smash," off of their newly combined LP, Prescription Fiction. Originally intended as a 2 album release that was ultimately disrupted by worldwide events in 2020, front-man and songwriter Wes Jones reapproached the focus and tone, broadening Prescription Fiction both stylistically and technically, with the result being an incredibly nuanced and introspective discussion of our modern society and cultural norms, all backed with a carefully constructed soundscape and instrumentation.

"The music for 'Smash' has been written for a very long time, but I just had not gotten around to recording it with Lu until a couple years ago. When I was trying to decide what to write the lyrics about, I felt that we had done a lot on mental health, so I wanted to branch out a bit. I have always been interested in what I call the 'fun conspiracy theories,' notably things such as UFOs, ancient aliens, the Mothman, etc. Growing up, I had a great uncle who was a brilliant aerospace engineer, and he was into all this stuff. It was really cool to see someone with such a strong science and engineering background and was into all this. So, I wanted to explore that interest some more. I came to realize that reading about those subjects made me feel very isolated, since it’s not a mainstream way of thinking. It made me a bit sad to think that. It made me wonder how many people were knowledgeable in this area but took this information to the grave because no one was interested in hearing about it. These realizations were the literal 'smash.' The irony is that now I feel a bit more justified due to all the information about UFOs that came out over the summer. I suppose that the sentiment this song conveys is a bit dated now with all this crazy footage being released, but I think the feelings of isolation are legitimate. I’m by no means saying that I think aliens are here and the Mothman exists, but I think we should be open to the notion that the normal person has no idea about what’s really going on." - Wes Jones(Singer)

Pharmacose is a collaborative alternative rock project hailing from Jacksonville, FL, that combines steadfast analog sounds with cutting edge flair. The project– a portmanteau of “pharmaceutical” and “comatose” –began as a collaborative effort between Jones and producer and bassist Lucio Rubino. Frequent collaborators include drummer Albert Cruz and guitarist Kevin Horne, who also round out their live act. They have previously released material under the name Digital Array.

Jones, a Memphis native, formed Pharmacose in 2017 with producer Lu Rubino shortly after moving to Jacksonville to pursue new career opportunities. Rubino, a veteran producer and bassist, has worked with ParamoreStoryside B, and The Showdown, among many others. Their creative process was chiefly inspired by Jones, a medical doctor, and his past struggles with mental illness.

Drawing on such themes as reintegration to life in the wake of acute mental health episodes and the side effects of psychiatric medication, Pharmacose wields their brand of rock to let those suffering from mental illness to know that they are not alone. The result is a powerful, explosive lyrical journey into the depths of existence that would appeal to fans of Queens of the Stone AgePorcupine TreeStarsetChevelleThe Mars Volta, and beyond.

By confronting anger, shame, and ultimately galvanizing hope, Pharmacose advocates for the awareness of mental health. Through vibrant soundscapes suffused with riveting synth. The group hopes to empower people to seek help, push through, and move from isolation toward connection.

Pharmacose released Prescription Fiction, Part 1, in 2020. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were gearing up to play live shows in anticipation of the release of part 2. With the subsequent lockdowns canceling those shows, Jones decided to begin working on new material and used the time to explore new sounds and assume a greater role in production. The result is several new songs, the first of which will be released in March 2022. In the meantime, Pharmacose will finally release Prescription Fiction as an entire album, rather than separately releasing part 2.

Phoenix's FLDPLN offers shot of electronic bliss on new 'Escalator' album

"FLDPLN presents stellar electronica laced with reverie-inspiring textures that beautifully combine. Fluid, relaxing and daydream-provoking, Andrew Saks' foray into the world of electronica is a most welcome one" ~ The Spill Magazine

"A whole new world of electronic-based dreampop... With a perfect sense of space and symmetry,... a sound unlike pretty much anything else out there on the ambient-pop-gaze music landscape" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Electronic reverie... there is some continuity between the blissful escapism of Saks' previous band Sway and FLDPLN... ecstatic yet chill, and harmonious while offering an unexpectedly welcome fusion" ~ The Record Stache

"Up up and away in bliss... an artist that definitely should be explored... dreamy, blissfully textural" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Succulent sonic chill-pill layers combine in reverie, bringing to mind such artists as Slowdive, Bowery Electric, Tycho, South Pacific and Bonobo" ~ Skylight Webzine

Phoenix-based dream-electronic artist FLDPLN has released the 'Escalator' album, loaded with electronic-based dreampop deeply influenced by 80s pop with shoegaze-like textures and an ambient aesthetic, created by layered saxophones and synths.

FLDPLN (“field-plan”) is the solo project of Andrew Saks, former frontman of Southern California shoegaze band Sway. A short time after they split, Andrew put down the guitar to return to his first love - the saxophone - which he has played from the age of 12. Largely electronic, FLDPLN concocts dreamy, blissfully textural songs featuring synthesizers, vocals and layered saxophones.

Preceded by initial singles 'Escalator' and 'Aliso', this long-player was written, produced, recorded and mixed by Andrew Saks at his home studio in Phoenix, Arizona. This follows up his 2018 album 'Let You Down' and his 2021 single 'Cashout', release in 2021.

“Escalator is really the result of my years of dabbling in electronic music production combined with my desire to reconnect with my roots, having been a saxophone player for most of my life," says Andrew Saks.

"For this album, I wanted to write songs that are true to the way I hear things in my head, dreamy, blurry, beautiful without compromise and incorporate the horn as a textural instrument as well as another melodic voice.”

The idea behind FLDPLN was to incorporate Saks' love for electronic music production and early 90’s post-punk sensibilities, while allowing saxophones and synthesizers to be used to fill-in texturally, where guitars have typically been the fundamental building element of the “shoegaze” and “dream pop” sub-genres. Saxophone textures are layered, at times co-mingling with synthesizers to create a soft, warm bed of sound, the perfect backdrop for the whisper-like vocals reminiscent of Andrew’s hushed voice with Sway.

At times, Andrew’s horn playing features soaring leads that lift the dreamlike and serene to near-anthemic heights while, in other instances, they convey an emotional, whisper-like voice. While certainly nowhere near new to experimental music, the tone and texture of the saxophone in this context effectively lends itself to ethereal lullabies and reflective daydreams.

While textures and sound are an integral component of the music, Andrew does not shy away from hook-laden songwriting. This music is highly influenced by childhood memories of going to bed each night, falling asleep with Walkman headphones on and later waking up in the darkness, in a partial dream-state with the pop songs of the 1980’s - Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Bruce Springsteen, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Debbie Gibson, Human League still whispering in his ears.

The 'Escalator' LP is out now via the Sillas Famosas label, available everywhere, including Apple Music and Spotify. The album can also be ordered directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

Dreamy electronic artist Roman Angelos presents lounge bliss on new 'Music For Underwater Supermarkets' LP

“Insanely cheerful and groovy lounge muzak. It’s fantastic” ~ Electronic Sound

"Pretty Glorious" ~ Stewart Maconie, BBC 6 Music

"This music is spacey, it's chill, it's clever and it's fun - it's about time someone is doing this" ~ The Record Stache

"Fluid and meditative, yet so catchy - taking the best concept of elevator music to new lounge-loving heights,.. puts the thrill in chill" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A fun escapist collection of music" ~ The Electricity Club

"The whole thing sounds as though it was played with love shot through with a dash of humour... You could do far worse than treat yourself to Spacetronic Lunchbox and put a grin back on your face” ~ Freq

"Guaranteed to stick in your brain" ~ Shindig!

London-based label Happy Robots Records has released his sophomore album 'Music For Underwater Supermarkets' by Brooklyn-based electronic artist Roman Angelos. This ten-track collection paints a sonic dreamscape where the mundane act of grocery shopping meets the future.

A dreamy aquatic meditation that is an ode to joyous childhood memories, this record was recorded live to tape, all together in one room, with most of the tracks being first takes.

Roman Angelos is the solo project of producer Rich Bennett, developed as a vehicle for Rich to explore his obsession with library recordings of the 60's and 70s, muzak and exotica. Exotic, dreamy, and wistful, this is the sound of a jazz sextet as channeled through synths and drum machines, creating a spacey feel.

Earlier, Roman Angelos previewed the lead track 'Swimming Through The Aisles', a snaking composition in 7/4 that propels the listener through water like a diver looking for signs of life in the deep. A dark combination of 'Kind of Blue' and 50s exotica, this mysterious tune is reminiscent of modular jazz with some wriggling synths sprinkled on top.

His 2020 debut for Happy Robots 'Spacetronic Lunchbox' was a burst of sonic nostalgia that boasted 11 songs in 10 minutes. It gained praise from Freq, The Electricity Club, Electronic Sound, Shindig!, as well as radio play from on BBC6 Music from Cerys Matthews and Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone, plus Bob Fisher at BBC Tees.

Beyond the world of library electronica, Rich has been involved in a diverse group of musical projects, including the newly reunited outsider/60s proto-punk group The Shaggs, dream pop outfit Mahogany, and Brazilian funk group Limoncello, in addition to production work with Stereolab's Morgane Lhote (aka Hologram Teen).

'Music for Underwater Supermarkets' continues and extends Roman's obsession with the library and soundtrack music of the past. This time, he fuses that aesthetic with childhood memories of being pushed around in shopping carts and visiting strip malls. Vibraphones chime alongside woodwinds and vintage synthesizers, creating an immersive sound that feels exotic and smooth.

"This record is very near and dear to my heart because it is filled with so many personal childhood memories. A lot of the musical ideas and vibe are drawn from aural memories I had while shopping with my parents when I was younger," says Rich Bennett.

"The underwater idea came to me while I started working on the tunes - so much of the writing seemed to have this hazy yet buoyant quality, and the idea of placing a supermarket underwater seemed to give the music both a bit of whimsy and seriousness. Which I’d say I always try and straddle".

Produced by Rich Bennett at Acme Hall Studios in Brooklyn, this album was recorded by Colin Marston (Jarboe, Sailors With Wax Wings) and mastered by Justin Colletti (Soundpool, Willie Nelson, Wynton Marsalis, Dead Leaf Echo).

The 'Music For Underwater Supermarkets' LP, distributed by Cargo Records, is now available digitally and on green vinyl. Limited to 200 copies, it was pressed at Deepgrooves, rated as the "greenest vinyl pressing plant in the world" due to their eco-friendly vinyl pressing policies. The album can be found on Spotify and Apple Music, and can be ordered in all formats via Bandcamp.

Generation Kill Releases New Album 'MKUltra' Via Blood Blast Distribution + Art Is War Records

Thrash powerhouse Generation Kill have today released their new album, 'MKUltra' out via Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records. Prior to today's release, the band has dropped singles "Never Relent" featuring the inimitable Gary Holt, the crushing "Rat King" and most recently, "Into The Black". Generation Kill frontman Rob Dukescommented on today's release:

"MKUltra is one of the best things I’ve done in my musical career. Jay Velez and Jay Trenzer wrote some killer riffs for me to pen lyrics on and Max Velez and Rob Youells put down the bottom end to bring this all together. Once again we focused on giving the listener a rollercoaster ride. Each song has its own pace and when the record is listened to as a whole, it takes you on that ride- it’s not a drag race, it has up and downs. “We’re All Gonna Die” was the bar, and I believe we elevated ourselves to rise above our own bar. The boys played their asses off and I screamed my brains out, I also added some melody and mid-range to balance it all out. I once again used all my vocal range on this one and can say my boys played with all the passion and rage needed to make a great record.

The lyrics are dark. They look into the eyes of mankind and point a finger.

MKUltra brings also a few guests, they loved the songs and were glad to be a part of this album which means the world to us as a band. I hope fans buy this record, sit back, and listen to it from beginning to end. I hope it brings them happiness AND anger, anger that when it’s over, they want more."

Stream 'MKUltra' here and purchase physical copies of the album here.

Generation Kill is an American thrash metal band formed in New York City in 2008 by Rob Dukes (ex-Exodus). Dukes, on hiatus from touring with Exodus, wanted to funnel his excess creative energy and aggression into something new. After the inclusion of Jason Trenczer, Lou Lehman, and Sam Inzerra, the band began writing and recording their first album, "Red, White, & Blood”, featuring several hit singles including, “Feast for the Wolves” and “Hate” as well as a cover of the Nine Inch Nails track “Wish” which enjoyed heavy radio rotation.

Due to creative differences with Inzerra and the untimely death of guitarist Lou Lehman, Jay Velez and Jim DeMaria (Heathen) joined and began recording their sophomore album, "We're All Gonna Die" with renowned producer Zuess (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed). Shortly after its release, the band embarked on a European tour with fellow Exodus member Lee Altus’ band, Heathen. The album spawned several successful singles, including “Prophets of War” which went to number one on Sirius Liquid Metal’s “Dirty Dozen” and remained one of the top requested songs on the channel.

Following the success of their second album, drummer Rob Youells joined the band and they went into the studio, this time with Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal to record an album with founding member of Run-D.M.C, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels. The project was initially titled DMC Generation Kill before becoming its own entity, later renamed Fragile Mortals. Currently, the band is recording the follow-up to “We’re All Gonna Die”, teaming up once again with Zuess, Youells returning on the drums and with a new member, Max Velez on bass.

Brantley Gilbert Premieres New Music Video for "How To Talk To Girls" Today

Special Tribute to Gilbert’s Wife Amber and Daughter Braylen Premieres Today

Hard-rocking multi-Platinum country star Brantley Gilbert is set to premiere the official music video for his latest release “How To Talk To Girls,” (The Valory Music Co.) today, Thursday, Jan. 27.

Co-written with Brock Berryhill, Brian Wayne Davis, Brandon Day, Chase McGill, Josh Phillips, Taylor Phillips and Michael Ray, “How To Talk To Girls” was written with Gilbert’s wife Amber and daughter Braylen in mind.

“I’ve known Amber since we were kids. I’ve been married to her for 6 years now, and I’m still in awe of her,” Gilbert shared upon the song’s release. “Then my daughter came along, and I realized I still struggle to find the right words to say to the girls I love.”

“How To Talk To Girls” presents a vulnerable side to the Georgia-native that reminds fans he’s more than meets the eye, as Taste of Country shares, “Although he is a self-proclaimed ‘bad boy,’ there's no doubt Gilbert's been reformed. And we are confident that when these conversations come up, he'll handle them like a true pro. After all, if you're questioning how to have these talks, chances are you’re already preparing for them.”

“How To Talk To Girls” follows “Gone But Not Forgotten,” penned with Berryhill, Jason Blaine and Jay Brunswick in 2018, and released to celebrate Veterans Day and to honor servicemen and women, first responders and all those who we rely on that serve and protect, keeping us safe in our day-to-day lives. Watch the video HERE.

About Brantley Gilbert
With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping, and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star. They see themselves. Seven No. 1 hits punctuate his career: “Country Must be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” CMA Awards Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kinda Party,” RIAA 5x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” “One Hell of an Amen” and collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town.” Gilbert’s landmark record Just As I Am clinched the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Earning praise from the New York Times, NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten father––just as he is. His latest release “How To Talk To Girls” is available everywhere now. Eric Church's Chief's Coming to Downtown Nashville

Six Story Property at the Corner of Broadway & 2nd Avenue to Include an Intimate Seated Music Venue, Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ Rooftop Restaurant and More

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Multi-Platinum superstar Eric Church has partnered with real estate and hospitality entrepreneur Ben Weprin as co-owners of new six-story property Chief’s at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway in downtown Nashville, with plans to begin renovating the food, beverage and live entertainment space this year.

“I remember driving through downtown Nashville over 20 years ago with a pawn shop guitar, riding shotgun in a beat-to-hell truck just trying to chase a dream,” reflects Church. “Chief’s is the culmination of catching that dream. Like everything else we do in our career, I wouldn’t even attempt a project like this if I didn’t think it would be the best, so that’s what Chief’s will be: the best.”

With Esquire praising Church as “one of the most singular working artists in any genre,” and Stereogum celebrating him as “one of the biggest touring musicians on earth,” the critically acclaimed entertainer’s passion for live music will be on full display with an intimate seated music venue within the space. His roots in the Carolinas will also be reflected on the rooftop of the former Cotton Eyed Joe building, with renowned Charleston pitmaster and James Beard Award winner Rodney Scott bringing his Whole Hog BBQ to Music City.

“I am beyond excited to not only bring Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ to Music City, but to also partner with my good friends Eric and Ben on this project,” says Scott. “Anyone who knows me, knows that I love music – so the opportunity to expand the brand in partnership with an award-winning musician makes this project extra special! I can't wait to share our Carolina roots and our whole hog BBQ with the incredible people of Nashville.”

Church, who set the Nissan Stadium concert attendance record of 56,521 across the river from where Chief’s will stand, has been closely involved in the planning process for the venue, which will reflect his storied career of 30 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum singles – from his Sinners Like Me debut through current Top 15-and-climbing single “Heart On Fire” and beyond.

“Bringing a seated music venue to Lower Broadway while revitalizing and preserving a historic building is exactly the kind of investment Nashville’s entertainment sector needs,” notes Mayor John Cooper. “I thank the partners involved for keeping the character of the building while creating a new concept for locals and our visitors to enjoy.”

“Pairing Eric’s talent and passion for music and his work ethic with a new restaurant, bar, performance hall and more downtown is a recipe for success,” adds Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp CEO Butch Spyridon. “The fact that he is doing this in a historic building that will transform the gateway to historic Second Avenue is truly a bonus as that street recovers from 2020’s unfortunate incident.”

“I am partnering with my closest friend and, in my opinion, the greatest hotel entrepreneur on earth, Ben Weprin, and the greatest barbecue chef in the world, Rodney Scott,” continues Church. “Together we will create an experience unique to Nashville and absolutely unparalleled in the world of music, food, fellowship and entertainment. This is my hometown. This is personal. This matters. Every detail of Chief’s will feel that way. I cannot wait to get started. See you in 2023.”

In addition to launching Chief’s, Church is currently playing in-the-round arena shows across the U.S. and Canada on The Gather Again Tour. Tickets to all dates, including the U.S. finale at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, are on sale now at EricChurch.com. All tour dates will enforce local venue and/or city guidelines regarding COVID-19 precautions and Church is touring with a fully vaccinated crew.

About Eric Church
Eric Church spent the past year releasing new music at a relentless pace; sharing the results of a marathon session during which he spent nearly a month writing and recording a song per day – including his latest Gold-certified No. 1 single “Hell of a View” and current single “Heart On Fire” – while sequestered in rural North Carolina, resulting in his critically acclaimed, chart-topping new three-part project, Heart & Soul, available everywhere now.

Just as unique as Church’s approach to recording and releasing music is his tenacity on the road. During 2019’s Double Down Tour, Church played back-to-back nights of two unique shows in each market sans opening act, giving every city’s fans six-plus hours of his iconic music. The tour also featured a massive stop at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, where he broke the venue’s concert attendance record with more than 56,000 fans in attendance and became the first artist to sell out the venue with a solo lineup. Church also took to the field at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium in 2020 of this year to perform the National Anthem with R&B star Jazmine Sullivan ahead of Super Bowl LV and has now returned to the road for his 55-city The Gather Again Tour, visiting full-capacity arenas for an in-the-round show in addition to a recent headlining spot alongside George Strait and Metallica during the ATLive festival at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

A seven-time ACM Award winner, four-time CMA Award winner (including the 2020 award for Entertainer of the Year) and 10-time GRAMMY nominee, Church has amassed a passionate fanbase around the globe known as the Church Choir as well as a critically acclaimed catalog of music. His previous project, the Gold-certified Desperate Man, earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album (his third nod in the category). Prior releases include the Platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”), the Double-Platinum certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”) and the 3x Platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 30 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certified singles.

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT Announce New Album 'The Offering' - Release First Single "Power of Evil"

American heavy metal five-piece LORDS OF THE TRIDENT are thrilled to share the news of their upcoming studio album. The Wisconsin-based band will independently release their fifth full-length effort, 'The Offering', on April 1, 2022 (no joke!). However, always eager to build a stronger bond between their loyal fans, the band has launched a Patreonthat will offer a treasure chest of rewards; most notably an immediate digital copy of 'The Offering', along with their previous three albums!

Talking about their new album, 'The Offering', the band comments:

"'The Offering' is, beyond a doubt, a big risk for us as a band. It's the most complex and technically difficult album we've ever made, our first record with Jacob Hansen at the helm, AND our first concept record. It's also a tragic tale, which fans of our style of music may not be used to. But honestly, we couldn't be happier with the result. We designed this album to push the boundaries of our music while also being ABSOLUTELY filled with hooks, and we succeeded on all accounts. We know you'll enjoy the tale we've woven. 'Sit with me now, and watch as the story unfolds...'"

To give a first taste of their new album, Lords of the Trident have released a new music video for the first single from the record, titled "Power of Evil". The track is one of three from the album that features guest vocals from Unleash The Archers guitarist Grant Truesdell! Watch the video for "Power of Evil" below!

About the LORDS OF THE TRIDENT Patreon:

The full album (The Offering) is available right now for members of the Lords of the Trident Patreon who pledge $5 or more. This pledge not only gets you an immediate copy of the new album, but also their three previous albums (Shadows from the Past, Pull the Plug, and Power Outage) as well as 20+ internet-exclusive singles, 25+ full-concert bootlegs, and a mountain of exclusive content for Patreon backers only. The full album will not be released publicly until April, so being a backer is the only way to hear it before it releases. 100% of the money pledged goes directly to the band and helps them play more shows, make more content, and survive the evils of the music industry.

The Offering is the fifth full-length album by Lords of the Trident (and their 10th release overall). This medieval concept album weaves a tragic story of a young boy sold into servitude, his arduous training to become a "Guardian", and the city that betrays him. Mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated Jacob Hansen (engineer for Avantasia, Unleash the Archers, Volbeat, Amaranthe, and more), this is one of the best-sounding epics you'll hear. Filled with blazing solos, soaring vocals, complex drumming, and multi-layer musical composition, 'The Offering' will take you on a heroic and tragic musical journey that will stay in your mind long after the album has finished.

About LORDS OF THE TRIDENT:

Since 2008, the immortal warriors of Lords of the Trident have been pillaging cities and melting faces with their brand of adventurous and epic heavy metal. Sharing the stage (and the tour circuit) with bands such as Unleash the Archers, 3 Inches of Blood, and Seven Kingdoms, their high-energy, pyrotechnic-laden live performances are a sight to behold. Producing more video content, live streams, and music than a band twice their age, the Wisconsin-based quintet are releasing their fifth full-length album (and tenth overall release) The Offering this year. If you like battle, bloodshed, axes, fire, and losing limbs, then mosh your way to the front row and receive your free ticket to Valhalla. If you don’t like these things – too bad. They’re playing anyway, and they’ll make sure to steal your girlfriend in the process.

BLACKTOP MOJO Release Official Lyric Video for "Strike Me"!

"‘Strike Me’ was recorded in our sessions for our self-titled album (released in 2021) at Sound Emporium in Nashville, TN and we had the privilege to add the background singing of the world famous McCrary Sisters on the track, who were an honor to work with. It was our first time bringing in outside background singing." - MATT JAMES

“The song is a sardonic answer to living through the great many turmoils we’ve all dealt with, especially in the last two years. It’s essentially us observing the world around us and exclaiming, ‘I’m coming, Elizabeth!’ to quote the late, great Redd Foxx.” - BLACKTOP MOJO

On Tour in Europe this Spring!

A feel-good blend of evocative 70’s retro rock!

Rising Swedish “Adventure Rock” stars HÄLLAS return with an evocative, feel-good blend of nostalgic 70’s hard rock, prog, proto-metal, folk and psychedelic influences on their anticipated upcoming third studio album, Isle Of Wisdom, out April 8, 2022 via Napalm Records. This collection of fresh tracks allows the listener to emerge in a brand new realm soaked in mystery and retro atmosphere - key features of HÄLLAS’ fantasy and sci-fi driven auditory aesthetic. Isle Of Wisdom, the successor to HÄLLAS’ critically acclaimed full-length offering Conundrum (Top 50 on the Swedish Charts, P3 Guld Award nominee), is set for release just before they hit the road on an extensive European tour.

To enter the mystical universe and get a first glimpse of what lies ahead, the Swedish five-piece has already unveiled the first two songs – the first single “Earl’s Theme”, together with a new video, and the bonus single “Stygian Depths”, today. “Earl’s Theme” starts off with an evocative guitar intro and a focus on Tommy Alexandersson's unique vocal tone as retro synths develop the song dynamically, drawing the listener into a thrilling cosmos between fantasy and sci-fi, while “Stygian Depths” takes that emotion straight from the first notes and evolves into an anthem exemplifying the band’s brand: Adventure Rock!

HÄLLAS on “Earl’s Theme”:

”When you finally take the step and say to yourself: This is the way I want to live. Then he turns up - The Earl - and this is his song.”

Check out HÄLLAS’ Visualizer for “Earl’s Theme

Isle Of Wisdom starts with synthy “Birth Into Darkness”, with an incredibly clever topline from the one of a kind vocals of singer and bassist Tommy Alexandersson. The musical journey continues with the mystical single “Earl’s Theme” embellished by choral voices, and proceeds with exceptional “Elusion’s Gate” - a piece that, by making room for the guitar lines of Alexander Moraitis and Marcus Petersson, highlights the overall epic and mysterious atmosphere of the album. Isle Of Wisdom was produced in collaboration with Linn Fijal and Vilma Colling at Riksmixningsverket studio, which has hosted the diverse likes of Arch Enemy, ABBA and Celine Dion. Comprised of eight bold opuses, Isle Of Wisdom is a deft new step in the noteworthy sonic trajectory of HÄLLAS, cementing them as a band to watch!

HÄLLAS on Isle Of Wisdom:

SHAPE OF DESPAIR Premieres New Song, "Forfeit"

Finnish funeral doom icons SHAPE OF DESPAIR will be releasing their brand new full-length, 'Return to the Void,' on February 25, 2022 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the brand new single, "Forfeit," which can be heard below.

'Return to the Void' is available for pre-orders HERE. Pre-save the album across your favorite streaming platform HERE.

Finnish funeral doom icons SHAPE OF DESPAIR return from the wintry Nordic gloom on their new album, Return to the Void. Between the success of the majestically downtrodden Monotony Fields (2015) and today, the members of SHAPE OF DESPAIR have been composing (glacially) and otherwise ensconced writing/performing with their other projects like FINNTROLL, IMPALED NAZARENE, THROES OF DAWN, and COUNTING HOURS. The Finns have never been or found the need to be prolific, however. The race into the cold darkness is a contemplatively unhurried task. Return to the Void is musically and thematically that same journey, one of perpetual solitude and aching hopelessness, driven straight into the heart of frigid twilight. As ever, this is cheerless music for sunless days.

“Not long after Monotony Fields, I started composing for Return to the Void,” says guitarist/founding member Jarno Salomaa. “At first, the title song sounded too primitive. I thought I would make a solo album out of it, but after a while, the song reminded me of older RAVEN material. Naturally and eventually, it started to feel like a SHAPE OF DESPAIR song."

SHAPE OF DESPAIR was formed out of the ashes of RAVEN in Helsinki in 1998. Actually, the transformation into the present-day moniker wasn’t as violent as it sounds. A simple name change—initiated by Salomaa—coincided with the Finns' developing predilection for protracted if icy metal. SHAPE OF DESPAIR’s grand debut, Shades of… (2000), was proof that the fledgling sextet's stately doom was already ascendant. From there, the Helsinkians morphed in membership but continued their funereal march into legend with Angels of Distress (2001) and Illusion’s Play (2004) before hibernating for almost a decade. While Return to the Void is the natural follow-up to Monotony Fields and represents over six years of songwriting development, the main narrative (and indeed the timely return of drummer Samu Ruotsalainen) is rooted in the past.

Return to the Void isn’t the follow-up to Monotony Fields in the traditional sense,” Salomaa says. “As stated, the songwriting goes way back to the first music we put together for RAVEN. I will say my approach has changed after all these years of making music. I found new and different ways to shape the arrangements and my compositions. What matters most, I think, is that it still has the SHAPE OF DESPAIR atmosphere.”

Return to the Void is no doubt SHAPE OF DESPAIR. From the void-gaze of “Dissolution” and gelid beauty of “Reflection in Slow Time” to the collapsing cathedral in “Forfeit” and the void-fall that is the stunning title track, the Finns have outdone themselves, overcoming the heights of previous lighthouse tracks “Woundheir,” “Angels of Distress," and "Sleep Mirrored" with surprising ease. Funeral doom is often narrow in scope, but Return to the Void defiantly opposes that with its massively scaled and forlornly inspired valleys and angelic (powered by Natalie Koskinen’s empyrean vocals) peaks. Coupled with Henri Koivula’s caliginous lyrics, SHAPE OF DESPAIR provides a masterclass display of a genre expansive and filmic.

“Return to the Void is a title we thought would best describe the album,” says Koivula. “It is a return for us in many ways. We were heading [musically] towards early SHAPE OF DESPAIR. Plus, Samu’s back in the band. Overall, my lyrics have a red line through them—a sense of solitude and depression. The state where you find that everything has lost its meaning. There is no past or future, only this one moment drifting near the firmament.”

The Return to the Void project started in 2020 and continued through May 2021. Production duties were wrested from the previous producer Max Kostermaa and in-sourced to the band directly. Ruotsalainen, Salomaa, Koivula, and Miika Niemelä engineered, respectively, at Beat Domination Studios, D-Studios, and Doom Cave Studios. The group also looked inside their ranks for mixing, handing the job off to [drummer] Ruotsalainen (FINNTROLL, METSATÖLL). The mastering was given to award-winning ace Svante Forsbäck (VOLBEAT, RAMMSTEIN) at Chartmakers West in Espoo. If the previous SHAPE OF DESPAIR productions were huge, Return to the Void is unfathomably massive. One listen to “Solitary Downfall” and the album’s crushing egress "The Inner Desolation," and it’s readily apparent that SHAPE OF DESPAIRhave crafted a temple of sound to ruminate the cruelty of existence.

“We recorded the album on our own, which allowed us the freedom to record whenever and however long we wanted,” says Salomaa. ”Everything was done in late winter, with the mixing taking place between February and March of 2021. We had a couple of weekends to mix with Samu, but most of it was done without us. The mastering was then finalized in May 2021. [The sound is] mainly raw but still heavy. The main focus was to keep our sound world intact. I think this album sounds the most accurate we’ve ever wanted our albums to sound.”

SHAPE OF DESPAIR’s next steps are to release Return to the Void via Season of Mist. The striking cover art via long-time design partner and silent member Mariusz Krystew (David Galas, Thor’s Hammer) is yet again a reminder that the Finns are as visually engaging as they are compositionally and lyrically. That they mixed old and new for Return to the Void is proof that there’s purpose and meaning to Salomaa’s ill-lit aesthetic. Once the album is released and protocols pending, Shape of Despair hope to hit the road where they’ll pontificate their wintry despondency from the stage to audiences near and far.

SHARK ISLAND AND DEKO ENTERTAINMENT HAVE TEAMED UP TO DUST OFF THEIR 1986 INDEPENDENT RELEASE S’COOL BUS.

REMASTERED AND REPACKAGED WITH BONUS TRACKS, IT HITS STORES FEBRUARY 25TH!

Shark Island was once the house band at the world-famous Gazzaris on the Sunset Strip. Signed to Epic Records in 1989 the band released their debut album “Law of the Order”, and also saw the tracks ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Father Time’ featured in the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, as well as the song ‘My City’ from the movie Point Break.  Lead Singer Richard Black would go on to be part of the short-lived supergroup Contraband which also featured Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO), and members of L.A. Guns, Ratt, and Vixen. They released one album in 1991 before disbanding.

“S’cool Bus” is where it all started, with tracks produced by Rick Derringer and capturing the band during the heyday of the Sunset Strip. This hidden gem is remastered and repackaged along with bonus tracks ‘Bang A Gong (Live)’ and ‘I'm Electric (Original Studio Recording)’. Both are taken from the same time period and make for a great addition to the original recordings for this “Deluxe Edition”. About this release, “What a powerful souvenir of a bygone era on the sunset strip, and a real gem for those who wish they were there. It will never happen again.”, Richard Black (the eye witness)

AngelMaker Announce New Full-Length Album, 'Sanctum'

AngelMaker

Announce New Album

SANCTUM

Featuring Previous Quadrant Releases Dawn, Dusk, Twilight and Eclipse With Six Additional New Tracks

Pre-Orders Are available Now Here

Northern Vancouver deathcore sextet, AngelMaker have announced the long-awaited release of their new album, Sanctum today. The album will feature the 8 tracks previously released 2-track quadrants - Dawn, Dusk, Twilight and Eclipse along with 6 brand new, previously unreleased tracks and will drop on Friday, March 11th, 2022 in association with Blood Blast Distribution. Pre-order bundles for Sanctum are available now here.

Speaking on the announcement of the their highly anticipated new album, AngelMaker share

“Sanctum is an amalgamation of all of our purest, most visceral ideas put into a collection of songs we couldn’t be more proud of. Spawned during the global pandemic, we nurtured these songs throughout long periods of isolation & uncertainty. Despite everything around us we believe we created some of the best, most mature AngelMaker music to date.

As the band adapted to the concert-less conditions of the worldwide shutdown due to COVID-19, they crafted a release strategy to ensure their increasingly perfected modern deathcore is heard. The first eight tracks from the new album appear as two-song “quadrants,” designed to build anticipation for the newly announced full-length. These quadrants spawned four music videos - "Exit Signs", "What I Would Give", "Vengeance" and "Creator's Conscience" along with their B-Side counterparts. Between them, the four quadrants have clocked up 1.6 million cross-platform streams and 417,000 YouTube views.

AngelMaker levels listeners with a furious, focused, diverse, and violent extremity, creating deathcore of the highest order, injected with blackened thrash, a smattering of power violence, and the urgent ferocity of underground hardcore. AngelMaker summon the most brutal elements of Floridian death metal and combine it with the coldest permafrost of Scandinavian black metal, without the theatricality sometimes clouding the genres. The brand new music unleashed by AngelMaker in 2021, crafted in recent months with producer Tim Creviston (Spiritbox, Misery Signals, Vultures) and mixed and mastered by Will Putney(Thy Art Is Murder, Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die), is the band’s most confident and destructive yet.

AngelMaker reveres the old-school 2005 – 2010 era of deathcore, constantly reevaluating their own material to improve upon it with each release. The music combines with lyrics about personal struggles (fear, loss, sadness, anxiety), worldly ideas and concepts, and fantastical, cinematic themes. The band’s dual-vocal and triple-guitar composition allows for new and diverse explorations of extremity, setting AngelMaker both inside and apart from the traditions of the deathcore subgenre.

As Greenwood points out, AngelMakercontinues to strive for the freshness of modern extreme music while bearing the coveted torch of the old-school deathcore sound. And if we can write songs that make listeners go through a sort of catharsis, then I think we have done our jobs correctly.

Ten years strong as an independent, do-it-yourself force, AngelMaker triumphantly stands tall. Continuously evolving whilst paying homage to the deathcore giants that came before them. Now, as the British Columbian ensemble’s first new material in roughly two years seeps out from the underground, AngelMaker are back and ready to once again assert their place at the very forefront of the deathcore scene. Pre-order their new album, Sanctum now here.

ABOUT ANGELMAKER

The members of AngelMaker were all teenagers when the band formed (half of them even went to the same high school together) and began a decade long streak of independence that continues to this day. 2012’s Decay EP put them on the deathcore map. A three-way split EP with Lament and Isolations arrived the following year.

AngelMaker’s full-length debut, 2015’s Dissentient, was a massive standout, demonstrated by ferocious songs like “Godless", “A Dark Omen,” and “Leech,” the latter of which accumulated 1.7 million views on YouTube and 4.1 million Spotify streams. One Bandcamp commenter likened the album’s sound to “cutting your heart out with a rusty spoon.” Portland, Oregon-based producer Stephan Hawkes (Chelsea Grin, Attila, Red Fang) produced and mixed it.

The Unholy Alliance split with A Night In Texas arrived in 2016, less than a year before AngelMaker beat more than a dozen bands for a fan-voted spot on 2017’s Summer Slaughter Tour, featuring The Black Dahlia Murder, Dying Fetus, The Faceless, Oceano, Slaughter To Prevail, Origin, Rings Of Saturn, Betraying The Martyrs, and Lorna Shore, among others. That momentum continued across Canada, with AngelMaker selected as the only opening act for The Faceless on a short trek.

The deathcore subreddit lit up in search of footage from AngelMaker’s spectacular performance at the Brutal Assault festival in 2018 in an 18th-century army fortress in Czechia. MetalSucks presented the fall’s Bloodletting North America tour, putting AngelMaker alongside Virginia’s Arsis; California’s Decrepit Birth; Slovenia’s Within Destruction; and New York’s Internal Bleeding and Pyrexia.

AngelMaker’s self-titled sophomore album emerged in 2019, punctuated by unrelenting tracks like “Hollow Heart,” “BLOODTHIRSTER” and “Requiem.” They supported the record with shows and tours alongside Despised Icon, Kublai Khan, and Ingested.

To date, the band have clocked up over 40 million streams across their catalog and 21.1 million YouTube views.

Just weeks after Ministry’s latest album Moral Hygiene was added to many “best of 2021” year-end lists, including Loudwire, Consequence Of Sound, Punk News and XS Rock (where it was ranked the #1 album of the year), Al Jourgensen and co. are sharing the latest taste of the record with the new track “Believe Me” alongside a warped psychedelic video that will have viewers questioning just what to think or feel (a clear nod to the times we are living in now).

The video was a departure from the two previously released professional videos from the album and became a total DIY effort, with each of the band members (also including drummer Roy Mayora, guitarists Cesar Soto and Monte Pittman, bassist Paul D’Amour and keyboardist John Bechdel) gearing up for the upcoming tour at home and purchasing an inexpensive green screen to contribute their parts to the performance footage that was then melded together. Ministry hopes to encourage other artists to do the same during these difficult times when budgets are tight and still have fun with the creative process.

See the video for “Believe Me” below.

Moral Hygiene is Ministry’s 15th studio album and features some of the project’s strongest and most inspired material to date. It features the creative masterwork of founder and creator Al Jourgensen who spent the pandemic pause ruminating on the new world we as a society have found ourselves in – while pondering just what we are going to do about it.

Stream Moral Hygiene here: http://nblast.de/MinistryMoralHygiene

The 10 tracks are a follow-up to 2018’s lauded AmeriKKKant and put forth Jourgensen’s societal manifesto and plea for civilization to get back to a set of standards that lives up to and embraces our humanity.

Previous singles have included "Alert Level" (sounding the alarm on the state society is in), "Good Trouble" (a rallying cry to fight for human rights in homage to Civil Rights leader John Lewis), “Disinformation” (the dangers of consuming mass media without critical thinking) and "Search And Destroy" (the unique take on The Stooges classic). The latter features guitar virtuoso Billy Morrison (Billy Idol/Royal Machines) who is also heavily featured on a number of songs on the album. The record also includes a collaboration with Jello Biafra (Jourgensen’s cohort in side project LARD) on “Sabotage Is Sex.”

Moral Hygiene is available now through Nuclear Blast Records in CD, vinyl and digital download formats at the following links:

ABOUT MINISTRY

Born in 1981 in Chicago, Ministry has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. Ministry’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathy in 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did Ministry, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch (1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry hit an all-time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. Eight more albums would follow before an indefinite break in 2013, only to be unearthed again in 2018 with AmeriKKKant, continuing to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. THE HATE CLUB Uses a Gaming Engine to Create a METALverse for METALheads

In the world where humanity is one step away from "living in The Matrix", some choose to distance themselves from the inevitable and some decide to embrace it. The latter fits the aspirations of The Hate Club's desire to explore the possibilities that a virtual domain can offer to metalheads across the globe.

To lay down the foundation The Hate Club's choice to use a music video as the presentation of what THC's METALverse might look like seems to be the most obvious move. There are several technologies capable of bringing the world of VR into every metalheads home, and one of them is Unreal Engine 5. A gaming engine that needs no introduction, its portfolio includes such monsters of the gaming industry as Fortnite, Street Fighter 5, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Borderlands 3 and many more.

The music video for THC's heavy hitter "Sleepwalker" is an amalgamation of his chaotic nature and aggressive sound all wrapped with next gen stunning visuals.

The Hate Club's ambitious vision is at the core of everything that the artist does to bring a breath of fresh air into the metal scene.

The Hate Club is an American metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2017. The band was created by lead singer, guitarist and producer Alexander Poe.

First surfacing under the new moniker in 2017, THC played multiple tours across the US in support of his debut EPs Space Born and Misfit. Then, following up with an Unplugged EP pt. 1, and Death of the Protagonist EP that achieved formidable success among audiences and reached international charts.

"Cerberus", a single from the Death of the Protagonist EP charted on the iTunes Heavy Metal charts in Germany in18th place. Also, "My Name Is Legion" from the same EP, reached 25th position on iTunes Heavy Metal charts in France.

The Hate Club's music video for "My Name Is Legion" topped Newgrounds Animation portal for 3 weeks with 4.5/5 average rating further establishing THC's foothold as a new force in metal.

In early 2021 The Hate Club made his first appearance in a print magazine dedicated to underground music in LA - Highwire Daze.

Alex's most recent release, Prologue EP, came out October 6, 2021.

Currently, The Hate Club is working on a debut album, to be released in 2022.

The Hate Club is a new driving force in contemporary metal.

This past summer, progressive metal giants JINJER released their most in-demand and successful album yet, Wallflowers, subsequently hitting the top of the charts all around the globe. Then just last week, JINJER reached yet another milestone - joining the first leg of the 2022 Knotfest Roadshow in North America to support metal legends Slipknot with fellow special guests In This Moment. The first leg of the tour kicks off in Fargo, ND on March 16 and hits an additional 17 cities before wrapping up in Vancouver, BC on April 17. Tickets are on sale now!

JINJER's Eugene Abdukhanov says about their upcoming North American tour:

"20 years ago or so, Slipknot shocked the world, along with four Ukrainian kids who would later become JINJER! There was nobody like them before. This band proved that you don't need to go pop radio to get big. Their sound revolutionized heavy music. Joey's drumming changed the game! Thomson and Root's riffs are what we learned to play the guitar with. In many ways, Slipknot became role models to us, and we followed in their footsteps. For this reason and many more, now being able to tour with this monster of a band means so much to us! We cannot wait to get out there on Knotfest Roadshow2022. See you there."

JINJER's exceptional precision of modern metal paired with tough as nails attitude has earned them a fiercely loyal, rabid fanbase and massive critical acclaim, making JINJERone of the most talked about bands today and garnering them many sold-out performances across the globe.

Since announcing Wallflowers, the band has graced numerous renowned international magazine covers, booked the biggest stories, sold out countless tour dates and their first two new singles, "Vortex" and "Mediator", both cracked the multi-million stream mark in no time. The new album not only presents a methodical and premeditated next step in the band's already imposing career, but moreover, it mirrors the personal adversities they’ve faced due to the worldwide events of the last year. Wallflowers is not only an upgrade to the progressive groove metal sound that all JINJER fans crave, but also a sonic pressure cooker of technical musicianship, emotional fury and an intense soundtrack befitting the harrowing state of the world today. Hailing from the conflict-ridden Ukrainian region of Donetsk but now calling Kiev their home base, JINJER truly do not mince words – or riffs – on Wallflowers.

GWAR To Release “The New Dark Ages” June 3rd on CD and Digital / September 16th on Vinyl and Cassette

Partners With Z2 Comics For Graphic Novel “GWAR In the Duoverse of Absurdity”

GWAR is set to release their ambitious new album “The New Dark AgesJune 3rd on CD and Digital, and on September 16th on Vinyl and Cassette via GWAR’s own label Pit Records. Pre-orders are available at: https://gwar.net/collections/the-new-dark-ages

The album concept is tied to a companion graphic novel, “GWAR In the Duoverse of Absurdity,” which will be released by Z2 Comics on June 3rd. In the graphic novel the band are sucked off into an alternate universe to do battle with their evil twins and the specter of rogue technology. On “The New Dark Ages” our heroes floorboard it through a kaleidoscope of hard driving heavy metal, and rock-n-fucking roll, building on their hilarious mythos, introducing cool new characters, and cataloging mankind’s hapless abandonment of their passions, rituals, and beliefs.

The Berserker Blóthar says: “This is the greatest rock record of all time. These are the songs for a new age, a New Dark Age, when men live by the dimming light of a technology destined to betray them. Listen, as we have a rock and roll orgy in the ruins of the world to celebrate humanity’s descent into an age of darkness, disease, ignorance, and death.”

The New Dark Ages” is available for pre-order on cassette, CD, and multiple different colors of vinyl (whiskey, sunbolt and black/gold marble) and the graphic novel as both soft and hard cover. Bundles are available including ones with Blóthar bobbleheads, and a one of a kind Beefcake helmet. See them all at https://gwar.net/collections/the-new-dark-ages.

Produced by Ronan Murphy

Album Artwork by Alex Horley

You've read the album, now hear the book!

"GWAR in the Duoverse of Absurdity" chronicles the epic battle between GWAR and their doppelgangers from an alternate universe the band discovers behind their treasured Magic Mirror. The book uses an innovative storytelling technique that combines words and pictures printed on paper (made from real trees!) in a seamless format we are calling a "graphic novel.” The tale is illustrated by the masterful talents of Andy MacDonald (Wolverine, Dr Strange, Wonder Woman), Shane White (Things Undone, Braun, Endless Summer), Matt Maguire (GWAR) and Bob Gorman (GWAR). Z2 Comics (Judas Priest, Dio, Anthrax) have teamed up with GWAR to produce what will surely be known as the ultimate illustrated saga of the beloved Scumdogs of the Duoverse.

"This was the most utterly engrossing book I've ever read! I couldn't wait until I'd read what was on the page before I was compelled to turn it! This novel has the one element that is missing in so many so-called literary masterpieces: It's about me!"

-Bälsäc The Jaws 'o Death

"GWAR has made sure that this story is a full throttle hysterical ride into tipping every sacred cow possible and I consider it an honor to help bring this chapter of the band's legacy to fetid, pulsing, life."

-RANTZ HOSELEY, editor Z2

Stay tuned for more news and music from the forthcoming album “The New Dark Ages.”

Melodic Death Upstarts LIVLØS Reveal Official “Serpentine Supremacy” Live Music Video

Latest Album, And Then There Were None, Out Now via Napalm Records

Get Your Copy NOW!

After the successful album release of And Then There Were None in 2021, proving LIVLØSto be one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in melodic death metal, the band chimes back in with the release of “Serpentine Supremacy” and the official live music video, filmed at their And Then There Were None release show in October 2021 in Copenhagen, Denmark’s Pumpehuset.

LIVLØS on “Serpentine Supremacy”:

“We had such an amazing time playing the release show for our new album, that we just had to share it with all of you! Pairing those shots with our 3-minute feral ‘Serpentine Supremacy’ seemed like the obvious choice for bringing the intensity of that night to the silver screen!”

Watch the music video for “Serpentine Supremacy”

On their latest album, And Then There Were None, LIVLØS are audibly on top of their game: scrupulously ripping through nine tight, hard-lined tracks, the band takes no shortcuts while still maintaining a dynamic songwriting style that keeps listeners on their toes throughout the album’s runtime. Album opener and title track “And Then There Were None”sets the pace with punishing vocals and raging death metal riffs, leading into dramatic choruses and guitar solos that display LIVLØS’ incredibly multi-faceted talent right off the bat. Only very rarely will the band give listeners time to breathe, like on acoustic intermission “Kistefjael” or the slowed-down, stomping “The Purest Black”, which ends the album experience of And Then There Were None in a triumphant, epic manner. Songs like “Seize The Night” are impressive depictions of singer Niklas Lykke’s broad vocal range, reaching from deep and guttural to high-pitched and ear-piercing sections.

Excellently mixed by Jacob Bredahl (ex-Hatesphere) and mastered by Brad Boatright (known for his work with Obituary, Nails and Torche among others), And Then There Were None is an exceptional display of LIVLØS’ confident, modern approach to melodic death metal, meticulously executed from start to finish – revealing more of what it has to offer with every listen. LIVLØS prove that they are here to stay with And Then There Were None!

Franz Aleksander Posch - guitar
