As the 21st century was born, so KREATOR underwent what was nothing less than a seismic creative rebirth. By this time, the iconic German band had released nine studio albums in the 1980s and '90s, which had established them as one of the most important metal names of these decades. In the first period, they had helped to shape and pioneer the thrash scene through such releases as Pleasure To Kill (1986), TerribleCertainty ('87), and Extreme Aggression ('89). During the following decade, the band had opened up exciting horizons of experimentation on albums like Coma Of Souls (1990), Renewal ('92), and Endorama ('99). Now, though, it was time to move into a fresh era, as vocalist/guitarist Mille Petrozza explains. “During the 1990s, we were definitely experimenting with what the band was doing. But (drummer) Ventor and I decided that for this album – our first of the new millennium – we wanted to go back to the sort of sound that we had at the start of KREATOR. In other words, to get back to the reason why we began the band in the first place.

There were some significant changes for this album, one being the fact that the band signed to SPV/Steamhammer. There was also a new guitarist introduced, as Sami Yli-Sirniö (who had made his reputation with Finnish band WALTARI) took over from Tommy Vetterli. The latter (also known as Tommy T. Baron) had joined in 1996 and played on the Oucast (1997) and Endorama albums.

As usual, it was Petrozza who did all the writing for the album.

The producer for this album was Andy Sneap, who was now making a name for himself as one of the pre-eminent masters of this art in the modern metal world. Pre-production was done in Essen at KKS Studios, before the band went to Area 51 Studios in Celle, near Hamburg where they recorded the drum and bass (handled by Christian Giesler).

The album title came from something Petrozza had read. “In a book, I came across a comment that John F. Kennedy said (in 1962). This was: 'Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.' I thought 'Violent Revolution' would make a good title for an album. So, I kept it in my mind for this record. I think 'Violent Revolution' is a title that makes a real impact."

For the cover, KREATOR turned to Andreas Marschall, who had done such a striking job on the 1990's Coma Of Souls album sleeve.

Violent Revolution was released in September 2001, and became the band's highest-charting album to that point in Germany, as it reached number 38. “We knew we had a good album, so in that way, it wasn't a surprise to see this do so well in the chart. But however good you might think your album is, you can never be certain how people will react to what you've done, and whether you can pick up new fans, as well as satisfy the older ones. So, I suppose there was an element of us being pleasantly surprised when we got into the Top 40 for the first time. But I have to give a lot of credit to our label. They knew exactly how to market and promote the album, and showed we had made the right choice in signing to them.”

Violent Revolution is without question an excellent album. While in some ways it does hark back to the glories of the band's earlier days, nonetheless it does not sound at all nostalgic. The performances and production values are very much part of the contemporary era, and the strength of the compositions themselves are of the highest values. Rising to the challenge offered by a new generation of ambitious metal bands, KREATOR proved they were far from being a spent force. Unlike so many of their peers, here was a band who still had so much creativity to offer, and were also clearly excited themselves by what they were doing. And when you hear the band themselves enjoying the entire process, then you know this is a bona fide revitalization.

“I feel this is one of our strongest albums,” says Petrozza with conviction. “We took what we'd done on 'Coma Of Souls' and 'Extreme Aggression' but this wasn't a case of repeating it. No, we added in modern metal elements to the sound as well. It was a new era for Kreator. A rebirth if you want to put it that way. And the start of what I would call our second career.”

Two of the band’s most recent albums, Earth Rocker (2013) and Psychic Warfare (2015), were included in Classic Rock Magazine’s 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s.

VOYAGER Premieres Music Video for Brand New Song, "Dreamer"

Last year, Perth's premier electro power prog sensation VOYAGER were bestowed the distinct honor of taking part in the prestigious song contest, Eurovision - Australia Decides! Now, the band is finally premiering the highly-anticipated single that has been selected to compete! The stunning video for VOYAGER's effervescent new ear worm, "Dreamer," will premiere live on Thursday, January 20 @ the following times:

For several years, VOYAGER has been petitioning to be selected as one of Australia's musical representatives in Eurovision - Australia Decides. After being shortlisted in the previous year's competition, the band has finally been tapped to represent Western Australia, making it the first time that the region has hope of winning the Eurovision title! The band will soon reveal the song that has been selected in the contest!

VOYAGER vocalist and keytarist Danny Estrin has previously commented on the track, "As humans, we tend to look to the stars and glorify what could be. Simply, 'Dreamer' is about looking at the here, the now and valuing what we have around us. Especially over the last two years, hopes and dreams vs the tiny locked down bubble we live in has been a constant push and pull... It's good to be a dreamer, but the grass isn't necessarily always greener. We're bringing this track to 'Eurovision - Australia Decides’ as our official entry and we can’t wait to finally be on stage again!"

"Dreamer" can be pre-saved across streaming services HERE.

"Integrating new-romantic 80s vocals against intricate textures of flashy synth, technical Opeth-esque riffs and ambient soundscapes, Voyager are a genre-defying cosmic melting pot of prog metal, djent and power pop." - Metal Hammer

In 2020, VOYAGER's music video for "Runaway" was exclusively premiered via 'Eurovision - Australia Decides!' Following an application via the Song Portal, the band finally received recognition for submitting a track and were paid tribute on the live television broadcast that aired on Saturday, February 8 on the Gold Coast. The can be seen at THIS LOCATION.

The song was taken from VOYAGER's 2019 release 'Colours in the Sun,' which received a wealth of international accolades. Recently, the single "Brightstar" was the first place winner in the Rock / Alternative category of the USA songwriting contest! Last year, 'Colours in the Sun' was the winner of The Independent Music Award in the Rock/Hard Rock Album category. The record was released in November of 2019 and landed a coveted #1 placement on the Australian Independent Albums chart! 'Colours in the Sun' also debuted at #7 on Independent Label Albums as well as #27 on Official iTunes Australia.

'Colours in the Sun' can be downloaded and streamed HERE.

Since their 1999 formation, whatever genre norms, boundaries and regulations thrust upon Perth, Australia’s Voyager have been smashed. They embrace, if not brandish pop; employ a keytar on stage, and, bring forward a positive, if not uplifting feeling to their music, running head-first into the endless parade of heavy bands who see the world in a different light. It’s perhaps why the title of their seventh full-length and first for Season of Mist, Colours in the Sun, is apropos: Voyager simply prefers to see the bright side of things.

“Observations of the malaises of the modern world and the baffling obsession with purity and difference all make me think,” says frontman and founding member Danny Estrin. “We’ve never had it better and we’ve never had it more colorful. To me that’s progress, it’s adaptation, it’s evolution and it’s astounding.”

The follow-up to 2017’s Ghost Mile, Colours in the Sun finds Voyager enmeshed in rich, melodic, song-first tapestries, led by Estrin’s smooth, capable clean vocal delivery. Estrin is self-aware of his vocals, calling them “unique and ‘80s.” But whatever tag Estrin affixes to his voice, they are the propellent throughout Colours in the Sun, serving up a steady diet of soaring, emotive choruses, where melody is paramount and along the way, even getting some help from another distinctive belter, Leprous’s Einar Solberg on “Entropy.”

“Einar and I became good friends on our tours through Europe and Australia,” notes Estrin. “I couldn’t help but ask him to guest on the album. He is a fantastic musician and vocalist. I sent him a reference track which he swiftly ignored and laid his own tracks down. The result is stunning!”

The kaleidoscope of sounds that comprise the album’s ten cuts is the result of Voyager’s far-reaching influences, many of which go beyond the traditional realms of metal and rock. Estrin calls it “catchy at the top, proggy at the bottom, as if Dream Theater and Depeche Mode had a baby.” It’s almost as if the term “progressive” is too limiting for Voyager, particularly when the guitar tandem of Simone Dow and Scott Kay merge for complex rhythms while doing battle against Estrin’s vaudeville-like keyboards (!) on “Reconnected.”

The “proggy at the bottom” notice is served by way of the rhythm section of bassist Alex Canion and drummer Ashley Doodkorte, who stretch their musical tentacles across busy, active cuts such as “Saccharine Dream” and the syncopated “Water Over the Bridge.” “I think we found our ‘voice’ on V (2014) and have been building on that ever since,” says Estrin. “The synthwave prog sound is really something that has naturally developed and has been refined even more on the new album. Every record is progress — that’s what progressive music is all about!”

According to Estrin, the Colours in the Sun album title encompasses a “vibrant multitude of people coming together under the hot Australian sun to create a beautiful and colorful soundscape.” It’s capped off by artwork courtesy of Doodkorte, who made the piece out of photographs near his house in Perth. A closer inspection reveals there are seven suns on the cover, one for each Voyager album, topped off by an updated version of the band’s logo comprised of five strokes, one for each member. No doubt a fitting visual summation of a band whose progress can be the described in the most literal and figurative of terms.

“It’s been a slow steady growth over the years,” concludes Estrin. “Other bands come and go after a year of fame. I really feel like we’ve built up an incredible fanbase, especially over the last decade, and the deal with Season of Mist seemed the logical step to take it to the next level together.”

Extreme Heavy Metal Revivalists EVIL INVADERS Announce New Album + Reveal New Single “In Deepest Black” with Official Music Video

New Album, Shattering Reflection, out April 1, 2022 via Napalm Records

Pre Order NOW!

Belgian extreme heavy metal frontrunners EVIL INVADERS are back and ready to unleash their third album, Shattering Reflection, with full force on April 1, 2022 via Napalm Records!

With nearly five years having passed since the band’s last release, rest assured – Shattering Reflection is absolutely worth the wait. EVIL INVADERS deliver a brand-new collection of dynamic, classically inspired but undeniably fresh tracks, focusing on strong choruses, gripping lyrics and even progressive touches that will grab every extreme heavy metal fan by the throat and have them screaming for more! Standing out amid their modern contemporaries, EVIL INVADERS aren’t here to look backward – they practically ooze extreme and thrash/speed metal precision from their very pores, delivering an authentic amalgamation of fresh songs that fast track the genre into the future.

As a first glimpse of what can be expected, EVIL INVADERS have unveiled the addictive mid-tempo crusher “In Deepest Black”, delivering dramatic, melodic guitar lines topped by a catchy chorus that will never leave the listener’s head! Check out the new track today alongside a chilling music video chock full of instant replay-worthy throwback metal vibes.

Joe (vocalist & guitarist) about “In Deepest Black”:

"‘In Deepest Black' is definitely one of the best songs we’ve written so far. Despite the fact that it’s something completely different from what we’ve done in the past, it feels very natural to play this song. I've always wanted to release some kind of “heavy Evil Invaders ballad” and I think we finally nailed it with this one!"

Watch the music video for “In Deepest Black”

EVIL INVADERS are back and deliver a remarkably melodic and extreme Heavy Metal masterpiece!

EVIL INVADERS’s Shattering Reflection promises to be a game-changer for the Belgian four-piece, as the band finds their own formula – twisting heavy metal into yet another extreme direction. The album takes off with speeding banger “Hissing in Crescendo”, followed by the epic anthem “Die For Me”, already destined to become an EVIL INVADERSall-time classic. A calmer side is explored on tracks like mid-tempo opus “Forgotten Memories”, creating a dense, heavy wall of sound with equally piercing vocals and lyrics underlined by guitar solo virtuosity. That thrilling epos stands in line with “In Deepest Black”, further showcasing how the band has managed to craft a pure classic heavy metal anthem with melodic guitar lines and catchy choruses, creeping relentlessly into the listener’s head. It also proves that frontman Joe has undoubtedly matured vocally, as his voice enters a whole new dimension in all facets. On the contrary, “Sledgehammer Justice” is a furious outburst of classic thrash/speed metal in which the Belgian quartet goes full throttle with hammering rhythms and guitar solo madness! Another album highlight is dark opus “The Circle”, creating a horrifying atmosphere with stomping drums and excellent guitar lines. Fans of King Diamond will definitely dig this one! Throughout the album, the band manages to keep the balance between fast extreme heavy metal with sharp shredding and mosh-worthy tracks, as well as melodic, intense and chorus-oriented mid-tempo anthems.

Shattering Reflection is a monster of an album that indisputably proves that, within in a new generation of metal bands, EVIL INVADERS have developed and matured record after record, just like classic metal bands of yore. Fans will instantly clamor to hear Shattering Reflection in full, and see these sinister tracks performed live on stage!

Joe (vocalist & guitarist) on Shattering Reflection:

"I’m very satisfied with what we achieved on Shattering Reflection. We’ve created a very versatile and surprising album. Because it had been so long since we’ve released anything new, we had a lot of demo material to choose from and I think that’s what made this record so interesting. We had the time to experiment with the songwriting, arrangements and vocal lines. Also the collaboration with Francesco Paoli as a producer was really cool. We managed to truly give the songs a unique vibe.

It feels like we’re at the start of a new chapter for the band and I’m excited to hear people’s reactions to the new stuff! It was a long and heavy process but it was totally worth it!"

Deprive a person of something, and they will surely go out and find it. In an age where Rock N' Roll has fallen by the wayside, few have heeded the call to preserve its integrity and importance in most of the music we hear today. It's time to put the question to rest: Rock N' Roll is here to stay, and Fortune Child will be manning the ship.

Founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 2021, it is no secret that these lovers of good ol' fashioned Rock were inspired by the likes of Led ZeppelinLynyrd Skynyrd, Alice in ChainsThe Black Crowes and so many more. The four-piece band plans to take the Rock N' Roll scene by storm, and to remind the people of what truly matters: the music itself.

The band is comprised of Christian Powers on vocals, Buddy Crump on lead guitar, Melanie Jo on drums (previously of Billy Gibbons and the BFGs), and Jon Ward on bass and has quickly garnered significant support from the Southeast US Rock N' Roll scene opening for national touring acts such as Blacktop Mojo. They will continue to do so as they leave crowds wanting more and more after each show. It's loud, it's dirty, and it’s down-right badass. Fortune Child is a force to be reckoned with. For 2022, the band has partnered with legendary rock producer Kevin Elson of JourneyMr. BigEurope, and Lynyrd Skynyrd to produce their full length debut album Close to the Sun,__ due out in early March. It’s one you won’t want to miss!

New Album, 'Fenix', Out March 25th!

Swedish rockers Åskväder are back with their new single "Let You Down". The electrifying Swedish garage rockers blend catchy choruses with a thunderstorm of energetic riffing and upbeat rhythms on the new track. The single comes with a sporty music video, which was shot in a gymnasium by Carl Stenlöv.

Martin Gut from the band comments on the single:

"Let You Down is a love song picturing a very close relationship between two people. It describes the will to always be close, to help, and to support. Maybe this is an unusual topic in the world of rock n roll and maybe it is not cool, but hey we are not too cool for school anyway. This is a track that we are really proud of and a track that we will be a definite choice for our live shows."

NAILED TO OBSCURITY - Release New Single "Liquid Mourning"

You're all full of joy and enthusiasm for the new year? Well, we can take care of that for you. Or, more precisely, NAILED TO OBSCURITY can: Today, the German melodic death metal doomsters release their new single "Liquid Mourning" - an earth-shaking extreme metal track touching the darkest parts of your soul and covering all hope and light in a lake of black molasses, dragging you deeper and deeper into their inferno of heavy riffs and brutal growls.

Check out the video below.

Raimund Ennenga: "The state of grief is often hard to leave behind, but a suffering soul is a fragile entity that needs to leave the lava of sorrow before it turns into obsidian. 'Liquid Mourning' is about a mind that is lost in the feeling of sorrow and finds itself more and more in a brittle tomb, as the mourning seemingly turns from liquid into solid…"

Jan-Ole Lamberti: “We wanted to try a different approach when we started writing new music shortly after the pandemic hit. The super low-tuned guitars, the string arrangement at the end and the production and sound itself are only a few examples that can be heard on ‘Liquid Mourning’ - probably the catchiest and maybe the most intense song we have released so far. Play it loud and enjoy!"

You can stream "Liquid Mourning" here: https://bfan.link/liquid-mourning

NAILED TO OBSCURITY from Northern Germany have successfully developed their distinctive style, somewhere between melodic death metal and doom with progressive influences. Their underground debut Abyss… exhibited these rare first glimmers, but their albums »Opaque« (2013), »King Delusion«(2017) and especially »Black Frost« (2019), which charted on #37 in the German charts, showed a real evolution within their sound, allowing the band to take some huge steps. Their melancholic songs never fall short of the necessary brutality, and always create a distinct dynamic that mesmerizes the listener who profoundly experiences every note and every word. This magic has already won over fans of festivals such asWacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Bloodstock, Brutal Assault, and Party.San Open Air as well as those who attended their tours throughout Europe with bands like AMORPHIS, SOILWORK, JINJER, DARK TRANQUILLITY, EQUILIBRIUM, LORD OF THE LOST… plus their appearances alongside renowned acts such as ARCH ENEMY, PARADISE LOST and AT THE GATES.

NAILED TO OBSCURITY is:
Raimund Ennenga | vocals
Jan-Ole Lamberti | guitars
Volker Dieken | guitars
Carsten Schorn | bass
Jann Hillrichs | drums

Before dropping their second album and label debut, Nightfall, this Friday, German metalcore powerhouse SETYØURSAILS keeps the anticipation high by unveiling the album’s exciting title track today. For this massive sonic experience, the fast-rising act teamed up with Andy Doerner, singer of metalcore veterans Caliban, to deliver THE hard-as-nails kickstart to 2022. The third single comes with a spectacular music video shot within the impressive locale of Brandis Castle near Leipzig, Germany.

“Nightfall” showcases the full straightforward range of Jules Mitch’s vocals, which oscillate between concise and clear, intense screams and expressive growling – all perfectly underlined by the powerful growls of Andy Doerner. With raging drums, heavy guitars and hard-hitting breakdowns, this hefty outburst will heat up the anticipation even more for the unit’s new offering!

SETYØURSAILS about “Nightfall”:

“We are overjoyed to present our third single release with our esteemed colleague Andy Doerner (Caliban). We deliberately named it the same as the album, as it is the centerpiece of the record. 'Nightfall' is about the contradiction of being trapped in the darkness and being scared, but at the same time, worshipping the darkness. The crucial sentence that makes this clear is 'they say the nightfall brings fear, but it's the sun I can't stand'. Which means 'I struggle with my depression, but I'm also drawn to it because the darkness is familiar and makes me feel safe.' Also, the sun in this case is symbolic of coming to terms with the illness and that it is easier to sink into it rather than fight it. Again, a very personal text that looks deep into Jules' daily struggle. We very much hope that some people will find themselves in it - and can identify with it, so that they can draw an important message from it: You are not alone!”

Andy Doerner (Caliban) adds:

"Since I've known SETYØURSAILS, I have become a big fan. They’re one of my favorite up-and-coming bands from Germany.

'Nightfall' is a monster of a bouncer and the chorus really blew me away. I love Jules voice and I'm happy to be a part of it! Give it a spin."

SETYØURSAILS on the video:

“We had a super nice day at Brandis Castle near Leipzig (Germany). We had the whole building to ourselves and took advantage of as much of it as we could. It was especially great working with Andy from Caliban. He is a great artist and one of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure to meet. It was all very relaxed and just a lot of fun. To see a well-known and established artist perform your own song with such passion was just great. We are incredibly grateful for all the great people who work with us. At this point we would like to say a big thank you to our videographer Peter Leukhardt.”

Young, enraged and standing steadfastly against hate – SETYØURSAILS perform uncompromising yet melodic post hardcore-influenced metalcore, convincing both live and on record. The unit has already performed at well-known festivals (Reload Festival, Traffic Jam Open Air) and converted fans alongside genre greats like Bullet for My Valentine, Hatebreed, Jinjer and Walls of Jericho with their unbeatable live energy. Their first album, Enough (2018), has attracted the attention of noteworthy outlets like FUZE and MoreCore, and now, SETYØURSAILS are proudly heading for round two.

Nightfall stands as an impressive return for SETYØURSAILS, who once again prove their musical diversity. A mixture of catchy choruses and intense breakdowns are evident on brutally melodic "Why", the changing spectrum of "Deadline", and "Into the Storm", which starts with a crisp deathcore intro. Among others, "Nightfall" (featuring Andy Doerner of metalcore veterans Caliban) shows the full straightforward range of Jules Mitch’s vocals, which oscillate between concise and clear, intense screams and expressive growling. "Mirror"begins atmospherically before bubbling up to an impressive journey through personal conflicts without losing its undeniably catchy quality. With tracks like "Secrets" and "Forgive Me" the band also presents its softer side. SETYØURSAILS are also full of surprises – together with Mike Perez from No Bragging Rights, they cover "Shallow” (from the film A Star Is Born) by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and give the ballad their personal touch, once again proving their musical diversity. Nightfall was produced, recorded, mixed & mastered by Annisokay vocalist/guitarist Christoph Wieczorek and songwriter/producer Julian Breucker at Sawdust Recordings. Both have already worked with greats like Beyond The Black, Eisbrecher and Emil Bulls – just to name a few.

SETYØURSAILS about their new album:

“This album is the most honestly written work we could get out of ourselves. It reflects the struggle of dealing with oneself, fear and life itself. It's dark, it's loud and it hurts. But most importantly- it's true.”

Nightfall will be available in the following formats:

Manchester's Richard Evans goes deep on technogenic disaster on 'Black Rain'. Forthcoming debut 'Sentinel' album explores humanity on the edge

"A beautiful performance" ~ The Guardian

"Richard Evans' music is commendable, not only for its allure and catchiness (with elements of Rational Youth, Pet Shop Boys and Jean-Michel Jarre), but also for taking on such topical subject matter as technogenic disaster, environmental devastation and our skewed outlook on our dire prospects as Earth's inhabitants" ~ Ampify Music Magazine

"A standout musical event" ~ The State of the Arts

Manchester-based artist Richard Evans presents 'Black Rain', an electro pop offering that foreshadows his debut album 'Sentinel', a collection of eight tracks to be released via Cold Star Media, telling a story of humanity at a tipping point and a world trapped in a climate crisis.

An electronic musician, writer and digital media artist with dual Irish-British citizenship, Evan's projects are inspired from real-world science, exploring biotechnology, machine intelligence and the environment. The accompanying video for 'Black Rain', which surrounds the same themes, was filmed at the University of Salford / MediaCityUK by Ashley Tidball, Timur Atilgan and Will Wood.

Formerly keyboardist in UK cult band James, with whom he also co-wrote and recorded material, he was also a guitarist and songwriter for St. Vitus Dancers prior to that. Since cutting his teeth on the UK music scene from the early 1980s to early 1990s, his independent creative projects have received nine awards from Arts Council England and a Business Development Award from Creative England, as well as being commissioned for various projects by the University of Manchester and Manchester Science Festival.

"Black rain was a type of radioactive rain that fell after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The song reflects on the era of Cold War atmospheric testing that exploded over 600 nuclear weapons, as well as the accidents at Chernobyl and Fukushima, all releasing long-lasting isotopes into the environment. The track starts with a rhythmic repetition of the Japanese word 'hibakusha' which means radiation-affected person. In a way, we're all radiation-affected persons now," says Richard Evans.

On 'Sentinel', analogue synths and sequences are mixed with melodic vocal hooks and drum machine rhythms. Recorded during the COVID lockdowns, the album's concept was spawned several years ago during an acclaimed multimedia live show that explores climate change in sound and light, featuring electronic music, video and data visualisation content. Originally commissioned by Manchester Science Festival with additional support from Arts Council England and Creative England, it has since been performed at festivals across the country.

For this long-player, existing songs were refined and new material was written, combining the warmth of classic synths with pared-down lyrics that explore real-world subject matter. Recorded at Evan's home studio, this album was mixed by Hervé Girardin.

"‘Sentinel is an electro-pop concept album. It’s important that art has something to say about the world we live in and there is no bigger issue than climate change. The album is my take on the different facets of the subject - from the impact of micro-plastics to the paranoia of COVID; from the origins of life to global climate protests, all in a pop package," says Richard Evans.

Richard Evans' output extends well beyond the musical realm. He wrote, directed and produced 'AEON', a science fiction drama encompassing a smartphone app, web series and live events. A published author of many short stories, he also published the novel 'KOSMONAUT ZERO' (via Dead Ink), researched at Star City Cosmonaut Training Centre near Moscow. In 2011, Richard devised and directed the 'Gagarin 50' exhibition, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin.

'Sentinel will be released digitally on February 25th across online stores and streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, where it can also be pre-ordered. White 180-gram vinyl can also be pre-ordered exclusively through Diggers Factory. Limited to 300 copies, the vinyl edition is scheduled to ship on April 22, depending on the number of orders required.

To mark the digital release, Richard Evans will be performing Sentinel live on March 11th at Oxford's Old Fire Station.

Bad Omens Release New Single "Like A Villain" From Upcoming Album 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' out February 25 via Sumerian Records

From Forthcoming New Album

'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND'

Out On Friday, February 25

via Sumerian Records

Pre-Order Here

Los Angeles-based rock sensation Bad Omens have dropped their latest track "Like A Villain". The song (which premiered yesterday on SiriusXM Octane) is the latest release from the band's forthcoming album, 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND', out on Friday, February 25 (via Sumerian Records). Bad Omens have previously released the album title track "THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND" plus the double-single "What do you want from me?" and "ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE", which combined have totaled over 6.2 million streams on Spotify and counting. Watch the visual stream for "Like A Villain" below and pre-order 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' here.

Bad Omens slither through boundaries, only to ultimately choke convention in the process. The quartet—Noah Sebastian (vocals), Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson (guitar), Nick Ruffilo (bass), and Nick Folio (drums)—materialize with ghostly atmospherics, striking hooks, and the tingles of sensual high-register harmonies uplifted by cinematic production. Racking up over 250M worldwide streams to date and earning acclaim, the band presents an uncompromising and undeniable vision on their third full-length album, 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' (Sumerian Records).

“Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians. In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.”

They’ve always wielded this level of magic though…

The group’s 2016 self-titled debut, 'Bad Omens', yielded fan favorites such as “Glass Houses” and “The Worst In Me” which eclipsed 22.2 million Spotify streams. On its heels, 2019’s 'Finding God Before God Finds Me' spawned “Dethrone” (10.9 million Spotify streams) and “Careful What You Wish For” (9.6 million Spotify streams). Along the way, they toured with numerous marquee acts and received tastemaker praise.

After their first headline tour was canceled mid-way at the top of the global pandemic, the band found themselves at home in Los Angeles with plenty of time. Where they absorbed and imparted a different palette of unexpected inspirations. Channeling what the frontman describes at times as a “cursive sound” they embraced newfound confidence and boundlessly loose creativity. Anything went in the studio, and all “rules” were broken. Noah and Jolly wrote, produced, and engineered the music themselves while GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer and songwriter Zakk Cervini (Halsey, Grimes, Poppy, blink-182) lent his talents with the mix and master. Challenging himself, Noah decided to “make a track sampling items around the house, none of which were musical instruments”.

This ultimately became the framework for the first single “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND”. Claps puncture the icy soundscape as his voice stretches from a breathy moan into an evocative and entrancing hook, breaking from a whisper into the seductive chant, “It wasn’t hard to realize. Love’s the death of peace of mind.” It culminates on a climactic scream uplifted by a distorted crunch.

“The whole record really details the loss of peace of mind,” he explains. “The lyrics in the title track are a little more specific in terms of the conflict at the heart of something more intimate and personal.”

By speaking it aloud, Bad Omens offer a level of comfort and empathy, with a sinister shroud. At the same time, they also give rock music a sexy new shape on 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND'.

“Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early too,” he leaves off. “You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.”

Postpunk - darkwave trio VONAMOR presents 'You The People', second taste of their debut eponymous LP

"Captivating avant-garde new-wave... charmingly ensures via an 80s call-and-response style throwback; with an ensnaring melody" ~ Post-Punk.com

"Captivating and dark… addictive necromantic mood" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Chilling and fiery… Stellar offering" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A dark delicious slice of darkwave excellence" ~ Skylight Webzine

"Complex, yet stunning... a crystal key track capable of unlocking our imagination.... Charismatic and talented, their goth electronica breathes with avant garde sensibilities and diverse influences, delivering music that is unique and haunting" ~ The Record Stache

Postpunk-darkwave-electro trio VONAMOR presents their pulsating and enthralling new single 'You the People'. Recalling the best dark pop of the '80s, this is the second taste of their impending debut 'VONAMOR' album, an 8-track collection produced by Lucio Leoni and being released via Time To Kill Records (TTK).

This dark and defiant song speaks of a world - the one we call home - where human lives are severely challenged by unintelligible and deeply rooted mechanisms of power, submission and protest. The track combines male and female vocals in a dialogue that is dense and full of tension, where English and Italian tongues intertwine with both hammering electronic sounds and the smooth sounds of saxophone, clarinet and flute, its creators intent on dragging the listener into a maelstrom of emotion.

'You The People' underlines VONAMOR's dialecticism and style, as well as their will to convey originality and sensuality, even when menacing, with passion and intensity. Eternally playing with words and sounds, they never lose sight of the rhythmic, Dyonisian and captivating soul of their electro dark, post-punk vision.

“Through our darkwave music and words, we search for the question, the ambiguity, the multiform influence of a variety of demons. We feel the urgency of questioning ourselves, our fellow human beings and the reality around us," says Giulia Bottaro.

This new offering follows up the lead track 'Take Your Heart' and its intriguing video, directed and edited by Fabio Santomauro, which has been met with international acclaim. Last year, the trio also released the singles 'Never Betray Us' and 'Fast-Forward Girl'.

VONAMOR is made up of sisters Giulia Bottaro (voice, bass, metal flute), Francesca Bottaro (drum station, sequencer, sax, clarinet) and vocalist Luca Guidobaldi, with Francesco Bassoli (guitars and loops) and Martino Cappelli (guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, oud, loops) joining the trio for live performances. The band's roots date back to 2016 in Rome. Initially focused on communicating images and composing scores for short films, they morphed into the trio we know today with their taste and allure, literary echoes, imperious art-pop and enigmatic aesthetics.

“VONAMOR is an escape plan, our treasure island, a thick and savage jungle that gives you the chance to let your prayers and whispers reverberate like a church. We used the music in this album to walk paths that we hadn’t known before, to connect Rome to Paris to Berlin to Beijing, to mix techno music with folk, to let our voices and bodies mingle and dance to an incredibly weird yet familiar beat, and finally to search for a boom of love and light into the dark of our everyday life: yes, VONAMOR is a boom!" says Luca Guidobaldi.

As of January 20, 'You The People' will be available across online stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Spotifyand elsewhere. The full-length album, slated for release - both digitally and on CD - on February 18, can be pre-ordered directly from Time To Kill Records.

Pieced together in isolation at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru Scott Atkins, the record is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal masterpiece, based around the concept of existentialism.

Diehard fans were thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug 'Pinhead' Bradley made a welcome return, lending his dulcet tones to the band's most politically astute song to date, the epic "Suffer Our Dominion" as well as the album bonus track "Sisters Of The Mist", which is the conclusion to the "Her Ghost In The Fog" trilogy, started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic Midian.

Belched from Hell’s depths into the rustic charms of the Witch County, Suffolk, thirty long and disturbing years ago, CRADLE OF FILTH are undisputed giants of the heavy metal realm. Imperious purveyors of a perennially unique strain of dark, dastardly, and willfully extreme metal, with deep roots in the worlds of gothic horror and occult curiosity, the band led by Dani Filth has weathered three decades of tumult and trial, earning a formidable reputation as both a singular creative force and one of the most riotously entertaining live bands the metal world has ever produced.

The cover artwork for 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus' was created by Stefan Heilemann and can be found below along with the track-list.

The Dutch masters of horror are back with their most flamboyant album so far. On 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus', CARACH ANGREN resurrect the gruesome story of troubled soul ‘Conrad Dippel’; the inspiration of Mary Shelly’s novel 'Frankenstein'.

CARACH ANGREN have extended all the sonic colours on their established palette to dazzling effect. Their trademark whipping guitars are weaving harsh melodies and sinister soundscapes, which are beautifully contrasted by opulent keyboards and majestic orchestrations. That Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) and Peter Tägtgren (PAIN) have called upon the composition talent of Clemens "Ardek" Wijers is a telling sign of his outstanding mastery of the craft. Another signatory counterpoint is provided by Seregor's fierce rasping and shrieking vocals. Adding to the impact, Namtar has become a relentless driving force with his hart hitting yet intricate drumming. Each track on this album is a highlight on its own, while combined 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus ' simply shines.

CARACH ANGREN set out to tell ghost-stories with a set of paranormal cases recorded on the demo 'The Chase Vault Tragedy' (2004). This was soon followed by the official release of the 'Ethereal Veiled Existence' EP (2005) as a prelude to the haunting 'Lammendam' (2008). The Dutch had a clear vision of combining a dark baroque style of metal with horror based lyrical concepts. Their sophomore full-length 'Death Came through a Phantom Ship' (2010) witnessed the band setting sail to bring their eccentric and capturing live performances to audiences and festivals all over Europe. In the wake of third album 'Where the Corpses Sink Forever' (2012), the haunting had reached the Americas and started to spread rapidly. This record added a serious side to the lyrics of CARACH ANGREN. While firmly remaining in the horror genre, their tales revolve around the evils of war. This mature streak was taken a step further with the fourth full-length 'This Is No Fairytale', which is on the surface a darker variation of the "Hansel and Gretel" story from the Brothers Grimm collection, but also deals with the too real topic of child abuse in a dysfunctional family. With ‘Dance And Laugh Amongst The Rotten’ (2017), the band returned to pure story telling with episodes that are centred on a girl playing a little too long with her Ouija board.

Now, CARACH ANGREN return with the monster ‘Franckensteina Strataemontanus’, where the Dutch have pushed their unashamedly theatrical style to a new intense height. You do not believe us yet? Press play and have your soul transferred with this new elixir of life!

NYC's Star Rover release eponymous album, produced by Grammy awardee Jesse Harris

“Vast expanses of polyrhythms and waves of sound that engulf the listener in a blazing covenant of inescapable tunefulness that crumbles sonic boundaries" ~ PopMatters

"As diverse as they are fantastic... reminiscent of TNT-era Tortoise... Sheer excellence, this is vacillating instrumental post-rock with an American tinge" ~
The Spill Magazine

"Quite stellar... this music lies in a beautiful no-man’s land between Tortoise, MGMT, Animal Collective and Foals" ~ The Big Takeover

"Impeccable and moving music that is this intricate, deep, shifting and tastefully orchestrated... flawless" ~ The Record Stache

"Gorgeous, astounding musical tapestry" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Golden era post-rock mixed with sophisticated avant-pop" ~ Impose Magazine

"Ephemeral and immediate, existential yet grounded; a sort of alternative electronic folk... full of color and emotion, it resonates with the glow of an experiment gone right" ~ Atwood Magazine

NYC collective Star Rover present their eponymous album 'Star Rover', a cohesive yet eclectic statement, melding the improvisational energy of their live sets with the depth and fidelity of the studio to create something dynamic, aggressive, nostalgic and beautiful all at once.

Earlier, the duo (Will Graefe and Jeremy Gustin) previewed singles 'Ghosts of New York State' and 'The Springs', along with animated videos directed by Clara Trevisan that wonderfully tease this series of lyrically whimsical tales - half dreamscape, half reality.

With the break in performances caused by the pandemic, Star Rover seized the opportunity to work on their music free of time constraints. Frequent collaborator and Grammy award-winning songwriter Jesse Harris produced the new record at his Long Island studio, a fruitful exercise of telepathic communication in spirited live takes, using those as springboards for sonic experimentation.

"We went to a small beach house in long island with our friend and collaborator Jesse Harris, who produced the record with us. Not trying to over-think or over-arrange it, we let ourselves have a blissful sort of creative week together discovering what this record might be. It seemed to encapsulate elements of what we used to be, what we are, and what we can be," says Jeremy Gustin.

“We let the record come to us, and working with the amazing engineer Vira Byramji, we often let the sounds dictate the material just as much as any pre-arranged ideas we brought. You can hear the buzz of insects and waves in the distance. Setting up microphones on the porch, I even played the wood sides of the house with my hands on a song. The whole environment, including the taste of the clam linguine Jesse would make for us are in these songs”

Through early sessions playing together at Gustin's Bushwick loft in 2011, Gustin and Graefe bonded over their shared love of John Fahey, as well as the spiky post-rock of Deerhoof and Lightning Bolt. Later that year, they recorded their first record 'Western Winds Bitter Christians', a short lo-fi collection of grungy Fahey covers and distorted originals. Besides touring the USA, Europe and Japan, they are both in-demand session and touring artists, working with the likes of David Byrne, Kimbra, Bill Frissel, Okkervil River, Sam Amidon, Marc Ribot, Delicate Steve and Nels Cline, among others.

Between touring and other recording work, Star Rover's writing developed towards futuristic post-rock, connected to the directness of folk melodies, leading to their 2018 album 'I May Be Lost But I'm Laughing', a more produced effort featuring such artists as Sam Evian, Shahzad Ismailly, Rob Moose (yMusic), Daniel Rossen (Grizzly Bear) and Sarah K Pedinotti.

The next year, Star Rover collaborated with Brazilian musician (and frequent Caetano Veloso collaborator) Ricardo Dias Gomes. They wrote and recorded 'This Whole Emptiness' album in Lisbon at the studio of Marcelo Camelo.

The 'Star Rover' album is out now, available across digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. It can be ordered at https://ffm.to/starroveralbum or via Bandcamp.
