Canadian melodic death metal heavyweights KATAKLYSM and German melodic death/doom metallers NAILED TO OBSCURITY are proud to announce they are joining headliners DARK TRANQUILLITY on the "North American Moments 2022" tour. The 37-date trek kicks off on January 28th at the House of Independents in /new /jersey and will make stops in Toronto, Seattle, and Tampa before concluding on March 12th at Gramercy Park in New York.

Maurizio Iacono comments, "The pandemic hasn't been kind to anyone. Maybe for the powers that be but that's for another discussion. One thing is for sure, the spirit of metal lives on. KATAKLYSM was part of the first cavalry of metal bands alongside Deicide to complete the first metal tour coming out of the reopening and we are extremely proud of this. it was a major confidence booster for many bands and now tours are starting to return in full force and today we are happy to announce that we will return in early 2022 with the excellent DARK TRANQUILLITY from Sweden and Germany’s NAILED TO OBSCURITY. This is a long tour covering both the US and parts of Canada, We are proud to hit the stage once more and bring our heavy hitter set and conclude the campaign for Unconquered with this tour. East Nashville, TN based Hard Rock band VOLTAGEHAWK has paired the eclectic imagery of modern skate culture with the newest chapter in their sci-fi epic to create a high energy music video for their newest single, "Recrimination." Directed by Jarrad James and premiered on Ghost Cult Magazine, "Recrimination" features Scotty Fitzz and is off of the band's upcoming LP, Electric Thunder, recorded with Geoff Piller and mastering by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering (BLACK KEYS, GHOST, ARCTIC MONKEYS, Dr John). Electric Thunder is scheduled to release January 21, 2022 with TLG / INgrooves.

Cause and effect, effect and cause. Crime itself is often a byproduct of the environment created for the repeat offender by the Systems of Law. In this downbeat driven, fuzzed out dystopian Robin Hood tale, we follow a criminal locked in battle against recidivism. In a landscape of survival, it asks you what you would be willing to do. It asks you to take a walk in another man’s shoes, for when you point one finger, three point back at you.

Hell-bent on pushing the sonic envelope, Nashville rockers Voltagehawk quickly set a ground rule that “NO” was never welcome in the creative space.

CANDLELIGHT RED Releases New Single "The Flood" via IMAGEN RECORDS

CANDLELIGHT RED released their new single "THE FLOOD" to all major platforms via IMAGEN RECORDS today! This will be their first single off of their forthcoming EP, also titled THE FLOOD.

The Flood marks the band's first release since 2013 and features Morgan Rose (Sevendust)producing as well as playing drums on the record. It was recorded by Jose Urquiza (3 Years Hollow), mixed by Jay Ruston & Jose Urquiza and mastered by Andy Van Dette.

After an unofficial hiatus since 2014, Candlelight Red entered the studio in East Moline Illinois with Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose, who not only once again produced the band but collaborated on writing and filling drumming duties on the record.

The band toured the US extensively from 2010 to 2013 in support of their albums The Wreckage & Reclamation while their singles "Demons" , "Feel The same" and their cover of Roxette's "She's Got the Look" blazed the airwaves. Candlelight Red toured on 2012's Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour supporting Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach and POD.

NORTHTALE is an international five-piece Power Metal band that was formed in 2017 by guitarist Bill Hudson (DORO, TSO, ex-U.D.O), who was initially writing songs for a solo album. Drummer Patrick Johansson (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/W.A.S.P), keyboardist Jimmy Pitts, bassist Mikael Planefeldt and former singer Christian Eriksson (ex-TWILIGHT FORCE) joined during the demo stages when a decision was made to turn the project into a full-time band. New Jersey Rockers BLACK WAIL Release New EP 'Dead Mountain'

Today, Jersey City’s BLACK WAIL have released their second EP of 2021, Dead Mountain (Rhyme and Reason Records). This release, the band’s fifth, was recorded and produced by Mike Moebius (Kings Destroy, Pilgrim) at Moonlight Mile Studios, who they last worked with on their 2014’s self-titled debut EP.

“This record is definitely on the darker side with all the down-tuned guitar goodness lovers of heavy music will enjoy,” says vocalist/guitarist Michael Tarlazzi of the release.

The opening track, “Staring at the Sun” is a trashy banger that transitions into a spacey guitar-y jam before ramping back up into a super heavy crescendo. The second song and title track, “Dead Mountain” is a slow and heavy stoner jam that sees guitarist Ed

Charreun and Tarlazzi trade fuzzed-out solos for nine minutes. It’s also the band’s first such track. “Hot Seat 2020” is a re-recorded visit to a Black Wail live staple, while the final track, “The Frigate”, is a story song about old-timey sailors meeting their demise.

Black Wail formed in Jersey City in early 2014 when Tarlazzi, then best known as a drummer or guitarist, decided to front his own band to draw on his influences of metal, punk, psych, stoner, and classic rock; playing guitar as well as handling vocals for the first time. After recruiting Susan Lutin on bass and Bram Teitelman on keys, the lineup solidified with the addition of guitarist Ed Charreun and drummer Felipe Torres, who also play in the sludge/noise trio Twin God. Dead Mountain, the quintet’s fifth EP, follows Born On Fire from earlier this year, and was produced by Mike Moebius (Kings Destroy, Pilgrim)

On the now released Memento Mori FEUERSCHWANZ finally make the step away from the simpler humor of earlier days, to one of the most important bands in German Folk-Rock!

With chanting violin playing, Memento Mori starts its heroic journey with its eponymous opener. The song turns out to be a melodic rock anthem with a well-known medieval character, a blazing guitar riff and life-affirming lyrics. On "Untot im Drachenboot", the squad around Captain Feuerschwanz sets off for new musical shores in a Viking ship full of undead warriors. "Rausch der Barberei", on the other hand delivers a violent, raw voice and driving drumming that send its listeners into unbridled frenzy. On "Krampus", FEUERSCHWANZsing in a canon of vocals and instruments about the ancient legend of the demonic companion of St. Nicholas, who is dressed in fur and a horned mask. On the ballad "Das Herz eines Drachen" (The Heart of a Dragon), the medieval folk rockers show their sensible side. In a fire lit by burning guitar sounds and flute melodies, a warrior mourns his fallen father with his head held high. "Hannibal" on the other hand embarks on a raging battle of powerful choirs, swirling violin and guitar solos and driving drums, led by army commander Hannibal. The crowning finale of the almost 40-minute adventure is provided by "Skaldenmet" with its proudly advancing bass.

In typical FEUERSCHWANZ manner, Memento Mori is about great adventures, past battles and outstanding heroic deeds. FEUERSCHWANZ manage to stay true to their trademarks and at the same time venture into new musical realms. Fans of the band can look forward to an extensive deluxe edition of the album, which extends the running time of Memento Moriby almost double! Written and recorded during late 2020 and early 2021, "Checkered Past" sees Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, and company continuing with the darker lyrical tone of the preceding studio albums, "The Devil You Know" and "The Missing Peace", while incorporating their classic rock influences into the mix. Heavier songs are mixed with bluesier, boogie inducing tracks and dark, introspective ballads, often harkening back to the first three albums the band made, but also pushing the band forward. Enuff Z’nuff are the living, breathing example of what a rock ‘n roll group should be. Now centered around bass player and vocalist Chip Z’nuff, Enuff Z’nuff are still delivering the band’s patented power pop melded with hard rock stylings. Originally formed in 1984 in Chicago, IL, the band received their big break in 1989 when they signed to Atco/Atlantic Records. Founding members, Chip Z'Nuff and Donnie Vie were joined by guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vikki Foxx and they commenced work on their major label debut. The self-titled album was a monster hit and spawned two evergreen singles, “New Thing” and “Fly High Michelle”. Both received constant airplay on radio and heavy rotation on MTV, spending over 60 weeks in the Top 10. 1991 saw the band release their sophomore album, “Strength”. The album had more of a hard rock overtone and sustained the success achieved on the first album. The band made high profile television and radio appearances on the likes of David Letterman and Howard Stern and were featured in Rolling Stone’s Hot Issue as ‘The Next Big Thing'. The band soldiered on during the new musical climates of the ‘90s and have since gone on to release over a dozen more studio records.

SICK CENTURY Release Alien Horror Video for Cover of WHITE ZOMBIE "More Human Than Human"

Pennsylvania based rock band SICK CENTURYhas released the official music video for their 6th release, a gritty cover of the iconic 1995 WHITE ZOMBIE hit single, "More Human than Human." Produced by Paint The Light Productions, "More Human than Human" is the band's sixth release.

"We didn't really plan this one. It was more like a fun idea in between tracking originals. The song turned out so good, we scheduled a video shoot the next week where we got all our friends together in a little barn spot in the woods and just rocked it. We love White Zombie/ Rob Z. and that entire era of heavy music so it's a huge honor to be able to do something like this. The video's definitely got that whole "creep show" vibe to it. It was shot around Halloween so everyone was feeling the spirit plus we're all fans of the Z. Sick Century began in 2019 when Scott Hoon and Marc Kahn started working together on a side project between bands. The two toyed around with a few demos that would later turn into singles “Rampart” and “Altered States.” The chemistry was there but while the duo had demoed several tracks, the lineup would not be complete until January of 2020 when Nick Black and Brady Hearn came aboard. Black and Kahn had been friends for a few years while Hearn started off the year touring with All That Remains and Lacuna Coil in band Eximious (with ex-members From Ashes To New). His decision to move onto Sick Century would come in mid January.

Since forming, the band has released multiple singles with the video release of Alice in Chains’ cover “Them Bones,” being their 2020 debut.

GHOSTASTIC RELEASE NEW EP AND VIDEO

From hobby to obsession, raw to mega production, here and the afterlife, Ghostatic is an ominous, all-encompassing presentation of sounds and experiences written, performed, and produced by Adamo Fiscella. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, and with a wide range of influences (both old and new), such as NIN, Nero, Skeler, and Deftones, Ghostatic is a vocally driven, modern take on industrial/electronic rock.

“The music presents itself as medicated bipolarism,” explains Adamo. “On one side, instrumentally, it is exotic, pulling from various genres of electronic music such as hardwave, ambient bass, and dubstep. On the other side, it is song driven with the vocals taking the forefront. The vocals keep the songs glued together - accompanied by heavy rock breakdowns weaved in. It's hard to put into a genre. Some of the subject matter relates to what it's like to die and what the afterlife might be like. Which is something I'm passionate about as I host/produce a TV show about the paranormal on Paraflixx.”

And soon, Ghostastic will be making their live debut (as Adamo will be joined on stage by Todd Schwarts – guitar, Gavin Ker - bass and keys, and Bailee Neville – drums). “The live show is a raw version of what the studio tracks sound like. Having a live drum set and more guitars replacing certain melodies and percussion that otherwise would have been synthetic. We're stoked to announce our first live show is happening December 18th at Avenue Taphouse in Lakewood, Ohio with our friends from Impending Lies. We are the outlier on the bill. Our sound isn't exactly rock nor EDM. Somewhere in between. We're paving our own path. It can be a lonely one. But the fans reassure us. Also recently released was an eye-popping music video for the song “The New Revelation” ,as well as the release of an EP. “The EP, ‘Don't Stand So Close To Me,’ was titled by the cover I did by The Police. Which is the second track. It is an ominous departure from the original, with many parts completely reworked. ‘The New Revelation’ is the first track, and single, from the EP. It's heavy…imagine if NIN came out in 2021. ‘I'm Lost,’ the third track, is an electronic powerhouse with a big drop, then smacks you with a rock transition out of nowhere. It's full of detailed editing and atmosphering/exotic synthwork. Imagine what it is like to die. ‘Far From Here,’ the fourth and final track, is exactly where it takes you. It's a cinematic rock/electronic song built for a soundtrack about the last moments of the end of everything as we know it. It is in a 6/4 time signature. I love writing in odd timing.”

And if that wasn’t enough, next year is shaping up to be a busy one for Ghostastic. “2022 is already looking interesting with a few festivals, and a possible tour, in the spring. We'll have more deets in the coming weeks.”

Jethro Tull launch video for ‘Sad City Sisters’; second track taken from ‘The Zealot Gene’

British Progressive Rock Luminaries JETHRO TULL recently announced details for the group’s first studio album of new material in over 18 years! Originally making headlines in March of this year, the band’s newest offering, titled ‘The Zealot Gene’, will see a January 28th, 2022 release on Inside Out Music. Today they are pleased to reveal the video for the albums second single ‘Sad City Sisters’, directed by Iranian film-maker Sam Chegini who previously created a clip for the much-loved classic ‘Aqualung’. Ian Anderson comments of the track: “Sad City Sisters throws up memories of a Saturday night in Cardiff, Wales when I was on my way home from our concert in St David's Hall some years ago. It could equally well have been any town in the UK, I suppose, or even most cities of the Western World. What possesses hell-bent and vulnerable young people to slip so easily into that tragic loss of dignity and end up sprawling drunk in a wet and windy street at midnight?”

A record that began to take shape as early as 2017, ‘The Zealot Gene’, in many ways, seeks to defy convention during a time when the business of being a touring and recording artist has never faced more uncertainties. Tull bandleader Ian Anderson holds no reservations about the role for which the mythos and themes of Biblical storytelling played in the lyrical content of the new album, saying:

"While I have a spot of genuine fondness for the pomp and fairytale story-telling of the Holy Book, I still feel the need to question and draw sometimes unholy parallels from the text. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly rear their heads throughout, but are punctuated with elements of love, respect, and tenderness.”

Looking back on the earth-shaking disruption of the Coronavirus pandemic, which ultimately ended the band’s touring plans and hopes of a 2020 release for ‘The Zealot Gene’, Anderson shares, "It was so sudden. Amidst the concerns and warnings of the scientific community and a few more enlightened politicians, we all retreated in disbelief to our homes to wait out the storm."
