Originally premiered on New Noise Magazine, "Nothing to Lose" was recorded at the legendary East Iris Studios (formally House Of Blues Studios) in Nashville, "Nothing to Lose" was produced / mixed by Kile Odell (FOZZY, THROUGH FIRE, AWAKE AT LAST) and co-written by Zach Williams (lead singer of DEAD EYES). The Accompanying music video , written and co-directed by singer Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs, showcases the bands eccentric image and high energy performance.

"Nothing to Lose" follows the release of the bands previous singles “I Feel Bad," which premiered with Knotfest.com, and “Never Alone,” which was added to ROCK HARD on Spotify, NEW ROCK NOW and NEW MUSIC NOW on Pandora, along with Loudwire's Weekly Wire.

After years spent grinding in the ever-dimming lights of Hollywood, vocalist Johnny Skulls and guitarist Dax Dabs opened their eyes and realized what so many never do: ”why the f*ck are we trying to do it THEIR way?” At that moment, what once felt so distorted and lacking in its luster was now crystal clear. And with nothing but the open road and their own volition staring back at them, the two joined forces after years of friendship and returned to where it all started.

Thomas Crane Releases Horrific Official Music Video for New Single, “Monsters Walk Among Us”!

Musician-turned-filmmaker THOMAS CRANE is jumping back into music, releasing his new single “Monsters Walk Among Us” with an epic new video along with it. Best known as a music video director, and the head of killDevil Films, he has directed videos for TODD LA TORRE of QUEENSRYCHE, SALIVA, KAMELOT, ONCE HUMAN, and many more. With the new single and video, he’s now back in front of the camera, instead of behind it.

The video has already screened at various film festivals in the U.S. and internationally, winning the Best Music Video Award at the Paris Cinema Awards. It also picked up Best Rock/Metal Song honors at the Tracks Music Awards in Los Angeles, and was honorable mention for Best Rock Video at the Munich Music Video Awards. It is slated for several other film festivals throughout the fall and winter.

The video for “Monsters Walk Among Us” finds Crane taking on a kind of performance art, as he plays a character named “The Gemini Killer”. Clad in black leather, and face paint reminiscent of The Crow, The Gemini Killer is a ruthless but flamboyant serial killer, spouting lines such as “You know I love to creep, I murder to the beat”.

“As I was writing the song, I was drawn to the idea of the lyrics being written from the perspective of a serial killer. Kind of like how the Zodiac and others used to write letters to the press. I thought it was an interesting concept to write a song through a character and to continue that with the video. The lyrics are the Gemini Killer’s billet-doux, taunting authorities, embracing notoriety, and I wanted to him to have style and panache. He’s a bit of a troll. There’s definitely some social commentary in the video, about how the media loves to embrace villains for clicks and views. I think the over-the-top nature of the story makes that pretty clear.” - Thomas Crane

In the video, as the Gemini gains notoriety, he also attracts a group of alluring but deadly followers, joining him in the cross country murder spree. The women, named Cookie, Kitten, and Jayne, form a collective that the Gemini lovingly dubs “the murder supergroup”.

“Monsters Walk Among Us” is Crane’s first music release since 2019, when he launched the single “Spook House”. Before then, he had multiple releases with his band Marion Crane. As the head of killDevil Films, he has directed over 100 music videos, working with artists all over the country.

Thomas Crane got his start creating music videos for his own band Marion Crane. He founded killDevil Films in 2014 and began producing videos for other artists. Since then he has directed, filmed, and edited over 100 music videos, several commercial projects, and one short film - working with artists such as Todd La Torre of Queensryche, Saliva, Kamelot, Once Human, Eve to Adam, and many more.

In 2019, his first narrative film production was released - "Halloween Party", a 38 minute horror/thriller short film, and it won The Florida Spotlight Award at The Spooky Empire horror convention in Tampa. The film is now available on Amazon Prime.

2019 also saw Crane’s first music release as a solo artist, with the single “Spook House”.

Crane plans to continue to work with artists on music videos as well as expand to feature-length films, with several projects in the pre-production phase.

"This song is the third release from our upcoming album that was put together during the pandemic of 2020, it started with influences of Weezer, CKY, and a few other weird inspirations. Initially I wanted it to have a dark and really kinda mystical heavy grind to the guitars but then we came up with the chorus and it ultimately blossomed into something completely different that I could never have planned. I think the Dark verses and bridge juxtaposed with the really heavy but bright and positive choruses is a quality that makes this song one of my favorites. Its a lot like life itself in that way" says the band's guitarist, Voley Martin.

He adds, "Sometimes painful and brutal honesty is the best medicine. We all lie to ourselves, but if we want to become our best version we have to cut through our own bullshit and be true with ourselves, only then can we become better humans."

21 years ago, the Swedish Heavy Metal powerhouse HAMMERFALL , traveled to Nashville to record their third album with legendary producer Michael Wagner, leaving the safe space that was Studio Fredman in Göteborg.

Last year, MAJESTICA released their new album A Christmas Carol as a wonderful Christmas gift for the whole metal scene. ICYMI: Masvidal recently shared a touching tribute to late bassist Sean Malone, who died on December 7, 2020. To commemorate Malone's legacy, CYNIC has released a never-before-heard recorded performance of the song "Integral," in which Malone performs fretless bass. "Integral" was originally released as a solo guitar and vocal track on Cynic's 'Re-Traced' EP. The emotional tribute can be found at THIS LOCATION.


As an act of support, CYNIC is inviting fans to donate as you wish for the "Integral" song download, which comes with a guitar/bass transcription of the song and an instrumental (no bass mix) to play along with. 50 percent of proceeds will be shared with suicide prevention organizations: To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) and The Trevor Project. Canadian post-punk rising stars TRAITRS present their new single 'Mouth Poisons', foreshadowing their much-anticipated album 'Horses In The Abattoir', to be released in mid-November via Freakwave, a Berlin-based label that is part of the Schubert Music Europe group, with distribution by The Orchard. This single follows moody 'Oh, Ballerina' with its accompanying art-house horror film meets 80’s new wave music video, directed and edited by frontman Shawn Tucker.

Recorded by and produced with Josh Korody (F*cked Up, Japandroids, Dilly Dally, Beliefs, Nailbiter) at Candle Recording Studio, the new output was mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Prince, Linkin Park, Katy Perry).

Based in Toronto, TRAITRS was formed in 2015 by Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker. With a cinematic blend of post-punk, goth, alternative and post-rock, their emotive melodies, propulsive rhythms, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics quickly led to the duo becoming one of the dark music scene's fastest rising independent artists.

“The core sketch of this song was written late at night at a very good friend’s place in Frankfurt, Germany. ‘Mouth Poisons’ is an extremely personal song and lyrically I set myself up as the main target. It carries an air of ‘come see what’s going inside of me that wants to burn down everything in sight’. Definitely my favourite single we have ever released to date," says Shawn Tucker.

“‘Mouth Poisons’ was initially supposed to be a fast, angular punk track and it remained in this form for several months until Shawn wrote the bass guitar part and completely changed the way I heard the song. His melodic bass line brought out a sadness and vulnerability in the track that I didn’t know was there. All of a sudden this frantic punk song sounded more like The Smiths or New Order, so I completely rewrote my synth part to tease out those elements even more. The break before the outro is one of my favourite parts on the album," says Sean-Patrick Nolan.

Early demos, recorded with Josh Korody, led to TRAITRS' 2016 debut cassette 'Rites And Ritual' with Pleasence Records. After gaining traction in Europe and North America, TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed 'Butcher’s Coin' LP via Pleasence Records / Manic Depression Records / Alchera Visionsin 2018. Bolstered by lead single ‘Thin Flesh’, the duo embarked on several lengthy tours overseas, performing in over a dozen countries with showcases at Wave Gothik Treffen, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal.

Their relentless touring schedule and work ethic caught the attention of Thomas Thyssen and Eric Burton of Schubert Music Publishing and, in October 2020, they announced TRAITRS as the first signing to their brand-new record label Freakwave Records.

With the preceding limited 10’’ vinyl ‘The Sick, Tired And Ill’, which practically sold-out before its actual release, TRAITRS were able to triple their Spotify monthly listeners to >33k. In addition, lead single 'Magdalene' spent 5 consecutive weeks at #1 on the German Alternative Charts (DAC).

Norwegian-UK outfit Permafrost has released their sophomore 'Permafrost' EPdigitally for the first time, including a previously unreleased mix. This four-track offering is available on all platforms as of October 15th, released on their own Fear of Music label with distribution by Secretly Noord.

Two years since its vinyl-only release, they now bring you the digital release of the ‘Permafrost’ EP, including the never-before-released Japanese Mix of ‘Sugarcubes’, featuring backing vocals by Tsugumi Takashi and Yoko Sawai.

Recorded at The Overlook, Braund Studios in Brooklyn and produced by Permafrost, this EP was mixed by Erik Braund (Mac DeMarco, A Place To Bury Strangers, Beach Fossils) and Shane O’Connel, and mastered by Paul Corkett (The Cure, Placebo, Sleeper, Strangelove).

Permafrost was formed in 1982 in Molde, Norway by school friends Frode Heggdal Larsen and Kåre Steinsbu during the first post punk era. Robert Heggdal and Trond Tornes joined in 2001, the group finally rounded out with the addition of London-based keyboardist Daryl Bamonte in 2016. They take their name from a song by Magazine with other notable influences being Joy Division, The Cure, Talking Heads, Pere Ubu, Yello, Fad Gadget, The Residents, Wire and Wolfgang Press.

Debuting with the ‘Godtment’ EP in 1983, released as a limited edition of 50 numbered cassettes, Permafrost issued their sophomore offering - the ‘Permafrost’ EP, a vinyl-only release, to high praise in 2019.

2021 brought a trio of critically acclaimed singles via Fear of Music label - 'Femme Fatale', 'Closed Eyes' and ‘Restore Us’, the latest offering from September featuring remixes by MAPS (a.k.a. UK producer James Chapman) and Paul Corkett. All three singles reached #1 on the Indie Disko Top40 Chart and Top 5 on the Deutsche Alternative Chart, the latter also reaching #1 on the Native25 Chart, in addition to significant press and radio play on six continents.

The 'Permafrost' EP is out now everywhere online, including Spotify, Apple Musicand Amazon. It can also be ordered directly from the band via Bandcamp. A limited number of copies are also still available on 12" vinyl while they last.

NONPOINT released their revision of "When Doves Cry" to all major platforms today. The single was originally released by Prince and the Revolution in 1984 and was one of the hit singles from the album Purple Rain.

Vocalist Elias Soriano says, “Our fans throughout the years have always had a quiet romance with the songs we like to cover. Seeing that our biggest showing in that category, our cover of Phil Collins ‘In The Air Tonight,’ was a suggestion from a friend and fan of the band, we thought it only fitting we let all our fans have a chance to throw their hats in the ring this time. So in the middle of a global pandemic, we threw up a bracket style voting tournament with a list of contenders from Metallica to DMX. As fans voted over a few weeks, it was exciting to watch it go from 16 songs to the final two, Metallica’s - Nothing Else Matters vs Prince’s - When Doves Cry. When they chose Prince, the real work began. We went through version after version. We knew we had to do it justice in the biggest way we could as tribute to Prince and still make it Nonpoint. I’m happy to report from initial response among the few who have heard it is exciting and we look forward to our fans singing it for years to come.”

Swedish action-rock trio THE DRIPPERS have released their new single ”Time For Some Action”. High octane garage punk ’n’ rock with raw vocals and thick, distorted guitars. The new single is the first taste of The Drippers’ upcoming sophomore album, which follows their acclaimed 2019 debut 'Action Rock'.

Viktor Skatt (bass + vocals) explains how the single ”Time For Some Action” came to be, "It was William who told us in the car, going up to Sunlight Studio, that he had a new song that was gonna be on the album. We'd worked hard and pre-produced the other tracks over several months so it seemed like he was a bit late to the party with this one. But we learned the song in the studio and worked on it for half an hour. Turned out it had a great groove to it, and with that commanding title it was a fitting song to choose as a first single. It's time for some action!!"

GREEN LUNG have premiered a new video for their single, "Graveyard Sun" via Louder. Vocalist Tom Templar comments, "Graveyard Sun felt like the most cinematic song on Black Harvest, so it was a logical choice for a music video. We were very lucky to collaborate with director Billy Price of Puppy and actor Julian Firth of Scum fame to take you on a paranormal trip into the vaults of Nunhead Cemetery. We had a lot of fun trying to capture a vibe somewhere between 70s paranormal investigation and the cinema of Jean Rollin, and hope you enjoy watching!’'

Recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in rural mid-Wales over the course of two weeks with longtime producer Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Big Lad), before being mastered by John Davis at Metropolis (Led Zeppelin, Royal Blood), Black Harvest is a more expansive and textured record than anything the band has done before, boasting a cinematic quality and more attention to detail. All samples were sourced from the local countryside and from instruments found in the studio, including the haunting opening vocal of The Harrowing which was recorded on a whim after the band broke into the local church (the organ can be heard creaking in the background).

Picking up where the self-released Woodland Rites left off, on Black Harvest, GREEN LUNG continues to draw inspiration from Britain's rich history of folklore, from witchcraft, and from cultish horror films. Nature - as always - is woven into the fabric of the songs; this time around the album was recorded in late autumn, and the seasonal atmosphere seeped into the music, which is redolent of mists, falling leaves, and the crumbling glory of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries of London, the city the band calls home.

GREEN LUNG recently completed a run of UK dates ahead of the release of Black Harvest. More dates will continue to be announced; the band will play Damnation Festival 2021 and Desertfest 2022.

Welcome to the ’Edge Of The World’…

The theme of the album is dark and mostly about the constant battle between the evil that surrounds us, in all shapes and forms. A topic that has been around as long as humankind has existed. Evil is real and we all experience it in our everyday lives, where life is getting harder and tougher for everyone.

Life is a constant fight constant battle between good and evil, and that it isn’t always the good that wins – quite often the opposite actually. That’s why we all need to fight back… fight the good fight to take us out of the darkness. The band are champions for good and the are determined to bring light to the darkness. The title track and third single from the album “Edge Of The World“ captures the dark and complex state of the world in dramatic way, with its bone-crushing guitars, stone heavy rhythm section and multi-cultural instrumentation. NIGHTWISH - Announce North American Leg Of HVMAN. :||: NATURE. World Tour

Finnish sextet NIGHTWISH are proud to announce their North American leg of their "HVMAN. :||: NATURE." world tour 2022. The 10-date trek will kick off on May 6th in Montreal with stops in New York, Chicago, and Denver before concluding in Los Angeles for two back-to-back shows at The Wiltem on May 20th and 21st. Joining the band as the special guest are labelmates BATTLE BEAST.


NIGHTWISHwill be touring in support of their highly acclaimed ninth album, HUMAN. :II: NATURE., which was released on April 10, 2020. The album was recorded from August to October 2019 at Röskö campsite, Petrax Studios, and Troykington castle, as well as Finnvox Studios, by Tero Kinnunen, Mikko Karmila, and Troy Donockley. The mixing was done by Mikko Karmila at Finnvox, with Tuomas Holopainen and Tero Kinnunen. Mastering was done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox.

"I still remember how I did sit in my bedroom in front of the computer, a couple of mead bottles next to me. We wrote this simple first song for our first show but we would have never expected that this would have made such an impact on the underground scene. It was very fun to dig out this track and create a special version with many friends we have met (pun intended) during our journey."

Besides enjoying their favorite mead, EQUILIBRIUM is still busy in the studio with the recording of their upcoming 7th album that is currently scheduled for 2022.

Something rises in the bleak and blackened skies of society as we know it. Vortex community GAEREA are about to bestow their Undying Sigil to the masses, with their brand-new full length ‘Limbo’!

GAEREA is a black metal quintet from Portugal. Emerging in the beginning of 2016, the band released their first (self-titled) EP on November 11, 2016 through Everlasting Spew Records. The EP received many praises from the worldwide press, and it was not long before the first full length "Unsettling Whispers" (2018) was presented.

With that, GAEREA had the pleasure to perform and tour festivals in Europe and China, including performances with Jupiterian in April 2019 and a headlining Chinese tour in May 2019. The band already performed at festivals like SWR Barroselas Metalfest (PT), De Mortem et Diabolum (DE), Throne Fest (BE), Frantic Fest (IT), Eresia Metal Fest (IT), Amplifest (PT) and many more. During the fall of 2019, the band did an extensive tour with label mates NUMENOREAN under the Doomstar Bookings wing throughout Europe.
