The four-track record includes the previously released title track “White Buffalo” and the thirteen-minute, multi-part composition “The Oracle” along with two new songs; “Inner Light,” the band’s first-ever instrumental track plus “The Witching Hour (Electric Witch),” a reinterpretation of a song they recorded for their acoustic EP, Wayward Flyers Volume 1.

Crown Lands recorded this project with Grammy Award-winning, Toronto producer David Bottrill (Tool, Mastodon, Rush, Peter Gabriel). In anticipation of its release, the band divulge what people can expect, “the White Buffalo EP rounds out the experience of ‘White Buffalo’ and ‘The Oracle.’ ‘Inner Light’ and ‘The Witching Hour (Electric Witch)’ highlight our obsession with complex meter & harmonization. ‘Inner Light’ is the first Crown Lands instrumental, and we could not be prouder of it. With the immaculate songwriting skills and the perfect balance between harsh death metal fueled outbursts and exquisite melodic melancholy, HOODED MENACE unleash skeletal horror and somber despair onto their craving audience with 'The Tritonus Bell'!

HOODED MENACE were formed in Joensuu, Finland in 2007 by guitarist Lasse Pyykkö, who had also performed in the Finnish cult death metal band PHLEGETHON. The band has always avowed to the strong influence by early CANDLEMASS and CATHEDRAL as well as PARADISE LOST, AUTOPSY, ASPHYX, and WINTER. Their lyrics are often inspired by the classic 1970’s Spanish horror movie series ‘The Blind Dead’.

HOODED MENACE recorded a 2-track demo, ‘The Eyeless Horde’ in 2007, which was released on 7″ the following year. Their debut album ‘Fulfill the Curse’ was released in 2008 and the highly acclaimed sophomore full-length ‘Never Cross the Dead’ came out in 2010. With a penchant for classic vinyl, the Finns also released several split singles and EP's, for example with ASPHYX and COFFINS, before delivering their full lengths 'Effigies of Evil' (2012) and ‘Darkness Drips Forth’ (2015). HOODED MENACE remained in a highly creative mode during their latest full length ‘Ossuarium Silhouettes Unhallowed’ which was released in 2018 via Season of Mist.

Throughout the years, HOODED MENACE toured in Europe and North America, and performed at many major metal festivals such as Hellfest, Roadburn, Maryland Deathfest, Tuska, and Party San Open Air among others.

With their upcoming sixth album 'The Tritonus Bell', HOODED MENACE threw in more classic 80´s Heavy Metal, such as KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE, resulting to the most up tempo (but never fast) HOODED MENACEalbum with the catchiest song material to date!

Lockjaw is a band based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. The group recently came out with a brand new release announcement for their upcoming single: Silence The Fear. This is going to be the first of many tracks, which the group is planning on releasing throughout the year. This particular song feels like a compelling new chapter for the band, highlighting its commitment to creating music that blurs the lines between a wide range of influences. From the depth and energy of alternative rock down the impactful edge of heavy metal, there are no rules. The group has a rather long history, fueled by the friendship of the band members, who got together to form this band while in high school in the late 90s. The music scene was quite different back then, but just like today, Lockjaw was never interested in chasing trends. These talented musicians had the vision to make their own music and truly give it their all. Lockjaw started making music in 1998, and it didn’t take long for the group to be able to record and release a handful of EPs throughout the local scene. Without spoiling anything, let’s just say that these songs depict the band at its best. Instead of releasing a whole record at once, Lockjaw is set to be releasing a handful of singles throughout the years, allowing their releases to seamlessly spread over time and giving the audience a nice constant stream of content. Despite being arguably Brazil’s biggest ever music export, when extreme metal legends Sepultura lost their original frontman and founder (alongside brother and drummer Iggor Cavalera) Max Cavalera in 1996 after their hugely influential ‘Roots’ album, many thought the band would not recover from his departure. However, in Cleveland, Ohio punk and hardcore scene veteran Derrick Green, Sepultura found a formidable, towering force that would lead the band with power and conviction through this new era of their career.

Any fans who feared that this new line-up of Sepultura would see the band taming their intense and heavy approach were not left disappointed when ‘Against’ came out of the traps in 1998. Steve Hackett launches video for 'Natalia'; third single from ‘Surrender of Silence’

Legendary guitarist Steve Hackett, releases his new studio rock album Surrender of Silence on 10th September 2021, via Inside Out Music. The album features 11 new songs as Steve has been working hard through Lockdown and, for the first time, has completed two studio albums for release within the same year!

The Devil’s Cathedral pools the talents of Hackett’s entire touring band and features King’s atmospheric Gothic organ and a powerhouse rhythm display from Blundell and Reingold.

About Steve Hackett

Steve Hackett joined Genesis at the beginning of 1971 and gained an international reputation as the guitarist in the band’s classic line-up alongside Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins. Hackett’s intricate guitar work was a key element of Genesis’ albums from Nursery Cryme (1971) to Wind And Wuthering (1977) including the classic Selling England By The Pound.

After leaving Genesis at the end of 1977, Hackett’s solo career, which now spans more than 30 albums, has demonstrated his extraordinary versatility with both electric and acoustic guitar. Hackett is renowned as both an immensely talented and innovative rock musician and a virtuoso classical guitarist and composer and this was recognised in 2010 when he was inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame. He has also worked alongside Steve Howe of YES in the supergroup GTR.

Hackett’s compositions take influences from many genres, including jazz, classical and blues. For his later studio works The Night Siren (2017) and At The Edge Of Light (2019) Hackett has explored the influences of world music. Recent tours have seen Hackett celebrate his time with Genesis including a spectacular 2018 tour in which he realized a long-held ambition to perform the works of Genesis live with his band and an orchestra.

The lockdown enforced by the 2020 global pandemic has proven to be a particularly creative period for Hackett. He began by releasing Selling England by the Pound & Spectral Mornings: Live at Hammersmith, a live recording of 2019’s hugely successful tour celebrating that Genesis classic together with the 40th anniversary of one of his most-loved solo albums. Lockdown also gave Hackett the opportunity to write and record two new studio albums, the UK Classical Chart hit Under A Mediterranean Sky and the forthcoming Surrender of Silence.

Yesterday (August 24th) saw the release of the fifth installment from the wildly acclaimed coloring book series from Life of Agony bassist ALAN ROBERT. The Beauty of Horror: Haunt of Fame brings iconic pop culture luminaries back from the grave through wonderfully spirited re-imaginings of their signature looks. In celebration of the release, Alan has colored a small sampling of the pages from his new book, paying homage to venerable greats like Alex Trebek, Bob Ross, & David Bowie.

Speaking about the page dedicated to Alex Trebek, Alan shares:

“As a kid, my Dad watched Jeopardy religiously. Seeing Alex Trebek on our television every night was a big part of my life growing up,” explained Beauty of Horror creator Alan Robert. “And with this latest coloring book, I wanted to tap into that very personal nostalgia.” He added, “When fans add their colors and creativity to these parodies, they get to bring these stars “back to life” in a way that’s twisted, fun, and actually cathartic. Brooklyn-based Pas Musique have announced they will release a new long-player, titled 'Amateur Radio'. With six new electronic, experimental krautrock-influenced tracks, this one will be available on white vinyl and digitally via NYC-based label Alrealon Musique.

Ahead of this, they present the lead track 'Ancient Scottish Legend', taking you on an glitchy and eerie audio-visual trip. Jeanne-Marie Varain, artist and daughter of Jean-Herve Peron of Faust, also collaborates on a cover of 'It’s a Rainy Day, Sunshine Girl'. This Faust cover, developed in 2019 for the 'KRAUT! Covered' compilation curated by WFMU’s DJ Scott Williams, is now available for the first time on white vinyl.

The 'Amateur Radio' LP is mirrored by the same broadcasting term, using the radio frequency spectrum for purposes of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, private recreation, radio-sport, contesting, and emergency communication.

This album was inspired by the collective's U.S. tour in 2019 and recorded shortly after at Pas Musique headquarters in Brooklyn and mixed by All Real Sound. The tracks are dense and textured, mixing in field recordings captured during that U.S. tour.

Founded by Robert L. Pepper in 1995, Pas Musique emerged from Brooklyn as a solo project around abstract sound. It has since morphed into a collective that has gone through many variations of experimental, electronic iterations. Italian indie label Seahorse Recordings has announced their latest signing, as well as the impending release of the debut album by singer-songwriter JATA (aka Gaetano Russo) on October 1.

Ahead of this, JATA will release the title track 'Crazy Game of Phobias', a statement about people's fears about social contact that have developed throughout the current pandemic, lockdowns and social distancing rules. In the process of writing and recording this EP, JATA essentially reinvented his sound, exploring the use of electronics and early sampling technique, in a mix of pop catchy groove and harmonies.

JATA explores one of the most negative effects generated by the pandemic - a phobia about social contact, stemming from distancing rules and lockdowns, not to mention constant media hype. Exploring this fear by contrasting our recent past with today, JATA lyrics emphasize he need to take back the greatest and most significant human trait - the need for socializing and contact.

As an artist influenced by Depeche Mode, Planet Funk, Almamegretta, Blonde Redhead, Arcade Fire, Editors, Interpol and Block Party, it is no wonder this lead single is laced with a Depeche Mode-flavor.

On this EP, JATA takes us on a captivating electronic journey between the 80s and the present day. 'Crazy Game of Phobias' is a sonic springboard, from which you can explore one or more destinations of positive rediscovery, resilience, personal and collective rebirth. These traits are already within us and can be drawn to the surface through a path of sensation and atmosphere.

"The EP's leitmotif starts with the current pandemic and the changes this new era has brought to the world. With its huge global impact, this crisis has encouraged me to think about how unstable and unpredictable our life is and how important it is to have the right approach to change," says Gaetano Russo.

"The concepts of resilience, future vision and goals, personal growth and discovering loved ones are issues presented from my personal point of view. As a professional coach and NLP professional practitioner, I take the view towards developing the human potential inside each of us, breaking a 3-year writer's block during which I had zero inspiration to write new songs."

CLOAK Enters Studio to Record Third Full-Length

Atlanta black metal outfit CLOAK have entered the Green House studio in their hometown to start recording their third full-length album! The record will follow up 2019's critically acclaimed 'The Burning Dawn.' The album is slated for a 2022 release. Stay tuned for more!

CLOAK comments, “We’ve officially entered The Green House studio in Atlanta for album number 3. Joey Jones, who produced our first album, 'To Venomous Depths,' is back with us this time around. The writing period was long, intense, and vicious, with many moments of triumph and empowerment. We’re extremely proud of the new material and in many ways it will be a completely new chapter for the band. People will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome of our current sound.”

The black metal crusaders in GOAT TORMENT return with 'Forked Tongues,' their first new album/release in over 6 years. A blast furnace of primal satanic fury, delivering a savage onslaught!

GOAT TORMENT was formed in 2008 by Kwel and K.J. with the intention to create music as a weapon of mass destruction and to annihilate everything which the so-called society stands for. For a start Kwel was supposed to play bass and K.J. would handle the vocals. But they didn’t find a guitarist who fitted with the ideology on a serious level. Thus Kwel decided to handle all the guitar parts and K.J.. started to play bass. After some months of research, the band recruited drummer Perversor. Then the band released a 4-track demo tape, released in 2009 through Terrorghoul Productions from Austria. The reactions were tremendous and bigger labels contacted the band interested to release the future offerings of GOAT TORMENT.

At this point, the band shared stages all over Europe with bands such as Grave Miasma, Hell Militia, Enthroned, Black Crucifixion, Black Witchery, The Devil’s blood…to name but a few. At the beginning of 2010 GOAT TORMENT had to part ways with drummer Perversor due to musical differences. During the early days of April 2010 a new burning entity was found: S. claimed the throne behind the battery. The Death wielding Trinity of GOAT TORMENT was complete. New songs were written, gigs were played and blood was shed.

Exactly one year later, the band entered the infamous Blackout Studio in Brussels (BE) to record some tracks for two upcoming releases: A 7” split EP with The Beast which was released at the beginning of 2012 and later that year another 7” EP , called “Into The Mouth of the Serpent”. Directly after the split EP was released, Kwel an S. decided to part ways with K.J.. due to different views about their future. In that moment GT decided to go on as a duet recruiting session members for live-shows.

The band returned to Blackout Studio in the fall of 2012 to record their first full-length album ‘Dominande Tenebrae’ ,which was released in February 2013 by Amor Fati Productions from Germany. After a year of a few European shows, the band had their first live appearance on American soil (Maryland Deathfest XII). The band had plans to go on as a four piece, but that didn’t work out because of different views. A South American tour was planned for August 2014 with the Belgian maniacs of ENTHRONED, but the two bands were forced to cancel one month before due to the irresponsible promoter.

In September 2014, S. decided to leave the band, due to other personal priorities and having no time anymore for drumming. It didn’t take long for Kwel to find somebody to take over the hammers. A new era began and Torturer (Mor Dagor, Bethlehem, ex-Belphegor) joined GOAT TORMENT as a new full member, so the duo was complete again. The band returned to Blackout Multimedia Studio in the beginning of 2015 to record their second full-length album.

In the summer of 2015, ‘Sermons To Death’ was released by Amor Fati Productions. The band toured the US West Coast in October 2015, accompanied by Saroth and Vagus Nox as live members. Shortly after, Vagus Nox joined forces to write new material. At the end of 2020, the third studio album ‘Forked Tongues’ had been completed.

The new offering delivers ultraheavy darkening passages that only serve to temper the relentless blasting speed. 'Forked Tongues' is musical punishment writ large, and sounds as if forged in the crucible of hell!

An integral part of the early-'80s thrash metal movement that spawned acts like Metallica and Anthrax, New Jersey's Overkill garnered a reputation for brutal, pounding speed and technique. Taking their moniker from the 1979 Motörhead album of the same name, an early demo; Power in Black, made waves in the underground tape-trading circuit and caught the attention of Megaforce Records, which issued the band's full-length studio debut, Feel the Fire, in 1985. High-profile shows alongside luminaries like Slayer and Anthrax followed, and with the American thrash scene in full tilt, Overkill inked a major-label deal with Atlantic, which put out their sophomore effort, 1987's uncompromising Taking Over. This was followed quickly in 1988 by the equally uncompromising, Under The Influence which spawned the MTV hit, ‘Hello From The Gutter’. Continuing their breakneck pace, the band issued the Terry Date -produced Years of Decay the following year in 1989, which saw them pushing their sound in a more epic direction, while maintaining the neck-snapping attack of their debut. Expanding their lineup to a five piece in 1990 they released the brooding and relentlessly heavy Horrorscope, which introduced elements of doom into the mix and would go on to become a defining release and fan favorite. Overkill continued to move toward a more epic Sabbath style on 1993's I Hear Black but switched up again on 1994's W.F.O. which marked a return to the whiplash-inducing thrash of the past.

Overkill are held in high regard as one of the true greats of the global metal scene, one they dominate to this day. These six albums cemented Overkill in the thrash hall of fame, while contributing to their 16 million record sales, notched up over the last 40 years and are all considered stone cold classics.

All six of these albums are back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade. Half speed mastered for dynamic range and pressed on 180g vinyl. Also available as a CD collectors box.

"In 2015 a close friend of the band committed suicide. While we can’t ever fully erase the pain of such an event, we wrote “When I’m Gone” as a form of therapy and to hopefully inspire others with a message of hope.

This video is our most ambitious effort yet. Filmed over two months, across 5 beautiful locations around the Southeastern United States...we shot through pouring rain, searing heat, and breathtaking scenery.

Ireland's Emperor of Ice Cream has released their new 'Weather Vane' single via FIFA Records. Moods, motives and expectations can sometimes make us feel like we are caught up in a tornado of emotions when a relationship hits a rocky patch. This song about the hope that remains even when things are falling apart.

Mixed and produced by Graham Finn, this single was mastered by Tom Volpicelli (The Who, Iggy Pop, The Alarm, Pat Benatar, The Bloodhound Gang) at The Mastering House in New Jersey.

They have also done a second vinyl pressing of their debut album 'No Sound Ever Dies' LP, which had sold out but is now available on white vinyl, CD, cassette and digital download. It will ship out August 27, the day before its first birthday.

Almost 30 years after forming, they finally released their debut album ‘No Sound Ever Dies’ via FIFA Records. Now based in Cork, Waterford, New York and Amsterdam respectively, Edward Butt (bass), John 'Haggis' Hegarty (vocals), Graham Finn (guitars) and Colum Young (drums) decided to put out their debut album that Sony Records had shelved 25 years ago after signing the band - only better.

Returning with the new single 'Weather Vane', the band captures the zeitgeist of this isolationist day in age, where social relations can be somewhat strained. Moods, motives and expectations can sometimes make us feel like we are caught up in a tornado of emotions when a relationship hits a rocky patch. This song is about the hope that remains even when things are falling apart.

Offering driving rhythms and thumping basslines, the band lays the foundations for raw and melodic guitars, topped by elegant, lush vocals and harmonies. A natural direction for the band, they bring in a fresher and raw sound, letting the parts speak for themselves rather than enveloping them with pedals and tricks.

Earlier, the band shared an audio-visual taster of 'High Rise Low Rise', a song about growing up amongst friends, who are viewed as misfits, oddballs and freaks. Nevertheless, the ideas and dreams that flow between these strange kids will change them all and the world around them, forever. The accompanying videowas written and directed by Veronica Terreblanche and reimagined by John Haggis with the director's permission.

Since re-emerging on the scene in May 2020, Emperor of Ice Cream have embarked on a chapter few anticipated would be written. Their debut record's first anniversary is marked by a second pressing on vinyl and CD. Entering the official Irish album charts at number 35, the LP topped the independent charts and was among the top 20 best-selling Irish releases of 2020.

"It's a strange task, to make music with people you haven't been in the same room as for over two decades, but the challenge was a welcome one. Overseen by Graham from his New York abode, the drums were beautifully recorded in Amsterdam at IJland Studios by Remko Schouten, who has previously worked with Pavement, Stephen Malkamus & The Jicks and Devendra Bernhardt," says John Haggis.

"Assembling parts from home studios in Cork and Waterford, the final touches, edits and mixes were completed in NY. It's an unusual way of doing things, but with the year that world has experienced collectively, not an uncommon one these days, unfortunately."

Garnering a new legion of supporters around the globe, renewed demand for the band's back catalogue resulted in the release of a compilation album of their three early Sony-backed EPs ('Overflow', 'William' and 'Know Me'), having sold out in the pre-digital 90’s. Reaching number 21 in the official album charts, the album also rose to number 3 in the independent charts. While the limited-edition physical copies were sold out on release day, it is still available as a digital download.

'Weather Vane' is out now on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the second pressing of 'No Sound Ever Dies' LP is also available.
