Mudvayne--one of the most creative and distinctive bands in the aggressive music world--has announced that they’re reuniting after a 12-year hiatus, and will be performing at all four Danny Wimmer Presents U.S. festivals in 2021: Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival (a headlining performance) in Ohio, Louder Than Life in Kentucky, Aftershock in California and Welcome To Rockville in Florida. These dates mark the band’s first shows since 2009 and their only dates this year.

Mudvayne formed in 1996 and has sold over six million records worldwide, earning Gold certification for three albums (L.D. 50, The End Of All Things To Come, Lost and Found). The band is known for their sonic experimentation, innovative album art, face and body paint, masks and uniforms. Mudvayne is Chad Gray (vocals), Greg Tribbett(guitar, backing vocals), Matthew McDonough (drums, synthesizer) and Ryan Martinie (bass).

Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents recalls, “In our fan surveys, Mudvayne has consistently been one of the most requested bands – even though they weren’t an active band! We’ve been working for years to make this happen, so when I got the call that they’d finally take a meeting, [DWP Executive VP & Talent Buyer] Gary Spivack and I jumped at the chance to fly to Vegas. We sat down for dinner with Mudvayne, their lawyer Eric German, manager Diony Sepulveda and agent Ryan Harlacher – the band hadn’t even been in the same room together for 10 years – and pleaded our case for why the time was right for this to happen. We were hoping to announce this in 2020, we’re fortunate enough to be able to do it in 2021, and DWP is super pumped to have Mudvayne exclusively at all four of our festivals this year.”

German heavy metal/hard rock label PRIDE & JOY MUSIC is happy to announce the signing of the Maltese hard rock group UPPER LIP! Hailing from Gozo (the land of the Megalithic Temples in the heart of the Maltese Archipelago Islands), UPPER LIP spurs nostalgic, groovy hard rock music with a passion to its genre! Their main influences derive from the splendid nature surrounding the beautiful Island and Rock acts such as Rush, AC/DC, Rory Gallagher to the Smiths, Captain Beyond, and even Waylon Jennings!

Since their inception in 2013, the band has played several gigs and festivals on the Islands to a very warm welcome from the rock music fans which swiftly translate to more gig invitations. Fast-forward to 2019, the band embarked on a massive project to work on their first studio album. The recordings took place at Temple Studios (where the likes of Rammstein, Philip Boa, Mike Hedges, and Siouxsie and the Banshees had previously worked).

UPPER LIP recorded 11 original tracks which portrays the groove and live energy that the band is so much noted for.

The album entitled 'DEEP WITHIN' will be released world-wide on May 21st, 2021 via PRIDE & JOY MUSIC, and a music video has already been released for the standout track, “Keep Going,”

1.Keep Going

The first track on the album ‘Deep Within’. Starts with an energetic raunchy guitar riff and proceeds with the blistering raw vocal verses and the catchy chorus (Let’s keep going on). The lyrics speak about the spur of the moment, the electric connection between two people with all its ups and downs.

2. Marble Arch

A deep and personal song that focuses on the pain that is left behind when things go awry. The bridge and the melodious guitar solos lift the song and paint this picture of love gone by.

3. Skinny Jeans

The Zeppelinesque inspired riff, sets the mood for some old-fashioned blistering rock ‘n’ roll. The song has a good time feel, typical of a crazy Saturday night out!

4. Eyes On Fire

The song speaks about the magic of a rock ‘n’ roll show and the crazy people that sometimes are present. In this case a particular girl who with a kind of sinister stare. She surely enjoyed the show it was as if her eyes were literally on fire!

5. What Makes You Smile

‘What makes you smile’ is a ballad that makes you reflect about moments in our life which are difficult and troublesome. It is also a song which gives hope and courage. Indeed the song takes two perspectives one that reflects on loneliness, “When you feel the pain inside, When you’re lonesome feeling angry” and the other that encourages us to take comfort in things which help us lift our spirits and that we should hang on when life becomes unbearable.

6. Deep Within (Instrumental)

The instrumental track situated right in the middle of the album! Is a guitar oriented track that started by an improvised guitar riff between songs during one particular concert. People loved it and it became a staple anthem during our shows.

7. Mirrors & Masks

The punkish vibe portrayed in this song reflects on some of the down sides of human nature, namely on people who wear a mask, who lie and who deceive and end up driving other people mad.

8. Hide

Another ballad within the album. Hide is an emotional song that reflects on the connection between two people who deeply care about each other, yet destiny brought them apart.

9. Be Free

Be Free is reminiscent of some of the 80’s anthemic rock songs. It is about moving on, being free from the things that drag you down. Thus, the motivational lyrics give a sense of hope and encouragement.

10. Desert Song

This song is a tribute to the Rock music legends of the past who still survive in the songs we write and in the music we play. Despite the current lack of appreciation (desert) that sometimes our genre faces it will still keep going strong.

11. Never Lose Hope

The longest and the final track of the album. The song is a sort of journey which ripples through time. Its long harmonious guitar solos evoke this sense of forlorn yet also create a sense of hope and courage.

Speaking about their new single "The Great Silence", lead singer Basak Ylva shares,

"We’re happy to release our first single 'The Great Silence' which, like the rest of the upcoming album, is not a silent song at all. 'The Great Silence' is one of the latest songs that we created for our next album “ The Missing Stone” and our bass guitarist Sebastian wrote this song within a few hours. I was instantly inspired by the powerful composition that he created so I immediately wrote the vocal lines and the lyrics and we finished the song in a day."

The night the world shutdown in 2020 Don’t Believe In Ghosts was set to headline Brooklyn's Knitting Factory. This on the heels of two sold-out headline shows at New York City’s Iconic Bowery Ballroom and the band's first U.S. tour, 2020 was lining up to be a breakout year for the band. With touring put on hold just as the band's single "Living Like This" began taking off at radio, singer Steven Nathan and his family were dealt a direct hit as his brother Robert Nathan passed away from COVID 19.

"This band has always been about seeing the light in the darkness. It’s always been about optimism, growth, and lifting people up. There were a few months there where I couldn’t even lift myself up anymore, it became very hard to focus. ‘Put Your Head Back’ is a defiant statement about no longer going down that path and re-aligning who you are and where you are going’ says vocalist Steven Nathan when describing the motivation for the bands new single.

In 2019 Don’t Believe In Ghosts sold out their first headlining show at New York City's Bowery Ballroom. In the summer of 2019, the band embarked on their first U.S. tour. Argentinian Melodic Death Metal artist PLAGUESTORM has announced the release of his highly anticipated, brand new full length album. Purifying Fire

Purifying Fire will be out on June 4th via Noble Demon!

Founded by Sebastián Pastor in early 2014, PLAGUESTORM delivers a wide range of furious and raging Melodic Death Metal. Sweeping melodies, heavy, dark and melancholic arrangements, mixing the old and new Scandinavian sound of Death Metal, as if it were based on a Swedish manufacturing standard. With 9 brand new tracks full of anger and rage, desolation and sadness, Purifying Fire is in fact Pastor's most mature release to date.

"The new album is a very varied one compared to Mother of Plagues. I have added some elements or compositions that I had not used before and you may notice a sadder atmosphere in some songs“ Sebastián Pastor says and continues: "I suppose that my mood and some situations that I had to go through last year influenced my way of composing and writing."

But not only musically, also thematically, Pastor offers a work full of depth. Just like the stunning artwork (by Artmorfate), several songs on the album share a conceptual connection about how the evolution of humanity negatively interferes with nature, as he explains:

"We have all witnessed how hundreds of forests and jungles in many parts of the world have been devastated by fire. These fires are intentionally started, for commercial gain, whether for real estate, to install nuclear plants, for mining, for the sowing of soybeans or for the installation of hydroelectric plants. I think some people are unaware that all the damage they are causing will soon affect themselves. But nature always prevails."

As on his previous releases, Sebastián Pastor was in charge of composing and writing all the lyrics and music (as well as recording the acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drum prog, and keyboards / synthesizers / strings), while the vocals do come from Mikael Sehlin (Engel). For the guitar solos PLAGUESTORM got the support of Diego Martinez, as well as Pablo Roman, and a wonderful orchestral arrangement for the song "Purifying Fire" was made by Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski.

We Are PIGS is the brainchild of accomplished South African-born producer / songwriter / artist Esjay Jones who has worked behind the scenes with Krewella, Grey Daze, Billy Corgan and Brian “Head” Welch. With the We Are PIGS project, characterized with a pig-masked frontwoman, Jones steps into her own spotlight with a hybrid nu-metal/trap style that combines brutal riffs, brazen screams and ethereal melodies. As Lander exclusively tells Revolver, “I feel like women supporting women in the music industry is something that we always need more of, and the fact that Esjay is a musician/writer/engineer and producer puts her in a class all by herself. 'MOOT' is unapologetic and angry, the voice of unbridled rage questioning everything in a very uncertain time. Jones further tells the magazine of how the collaboration came to be, after being inspired from watching the acclaimed Kittie: Origins/Evolutions career retrospective documentary. “Five minutes into it I was enamored and empowered. I was deeply fueled by the band's brazen tenacity, willingness to take risks, continuous forward momentum in the face of adversarial forces and their ability to level the playing field in a super male-dominated genre within a male-dominated industry. Literally, as soon as the documentary ended, I sent an unsolicited e-mail to Morgan asking if she would consider collaborating on this We Are PIGS single. Making music with Morgan has been a bucket list experience — she is the real deal and I feel honored and privileged to have had this opportunity to create with a hero!"

When Hail The Sun entered the studio to record what would become New Age Filth, they knew they were setting out to make their most collaborative and diverse album yet. Consisting of Melero, Aric Garcia (guitar), John Stirrat (bass), and Shane Gann (guitar), the band spent a month living in an apartment attached to producer Kris Crummett’s (A Lot Like Birds, Nova Charisma, Dance Gavin Dance) studio which provided a much different experience from the creation of prior albums. The ten songs on New Age Filth showcase the band’s post-hardcore roots blended with elements of alternative and progressive rock, proving the band’s ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The lyrics, penned by Melero, center around the theme of reflection, weaving through painful and emotional experiences of love, cynicism, and touching on how awful humans can be to one another.

SETH Commemorates Second Anniversary of the Notre Dame Fire with New Song and Music Video

French black metal pioneers SETH have teamed up with Black Metal Promotion to release the new song "Les Océans du Vide!" The song and its accompanying music video, which was made by Guilherme Henriques.

"Let us dedicate seven minutes of silence today.

"April 15, 2019, the moment is solemn - the blaze devours Notre-Dame de Paris. Two millenaries of spirituality have symbolically collapsed under the assault of a demonic fire. The cover of our brand new album 'La Morsure Du Christ' is a commemoration to a tragic anniversary. In today's godless world, the end of the journey arises twenty years later from the depths of a past formerly believed to be eternal.

"Here is track number six from 'La Morsure du Christ' baptized 'The Oceans of Emptiness.'"

The devastating blaze at Notre-Dame de Paris embodies the very essence of 'La Morsure du Christ.' Twenty-three years after the release of their debut album 'Les Blessures de L’Ame,' the Quintessence of Evil has unfolded in a way that none could have been prophesied. The tribulation that has emerged from the inferno that engulfed our national monument is fraught with mysticism, cabalism, and necromancy, and has taken the world by storm/shaken the world to its core. (use one or the other, but not both).

More than a mere backdrop to our new album, the brazen arson attack occurred in a time of spiritual dislocation and religious collapse, and the resulting became a cornerstone of our inspiration : transforming a mystical experience into the coalescence art of an album written in French Alexandrine lyrics. Thus began the conception of 'La Morsure du Christ.'

The evocative title echoes the debut album's deeper meanings, and symbolizes both the betrayal of a God deserting his own world and the ultimate demise of His reign. These ashes are offered to you as a gift to pay tribute and celebrate the second anniversary of the Fire.

The history of black metal formation SETH and Season of Mist spans back to the early days of the French metal scene. The band’s debut ‘Les Blessures de L'Ame’ (1998) was one of the first releases on the label. This album is now regarded as a cornerstone in French black metal, pioneering the usage of their native tongue on a black metal record. SETH has lit up the flame of those early days again with ‘La Morsure du Christ’, which can be seen as sequel to the highly acclaimed debut.

The release of ‘Les Blessures de L'Ame’ quickly gained international attention and SETH built a solid fanbase. The French blasphemers signed a two-release deal with Osmose Productions and participated on the MAYHEM cult tribute album ‘Originators of the Northern Darkness’ alongside IMMORTAL and BEHEMOTH. The second full-length ‘The Excellence’ came out in 2000 and featured a contribution from none other than Fenriz (DARKTHRONE), who wrote the lyrics for the song ‘Let Me Be The Salt In Your Wound’.

Shortly after, the group recorded their third album ‘Divine-X’ (2002) at the Excess Studios in Rotterdam (EPICA, AFTER FOREVER, SINISTER). This record demonstrated the ability of the band to mix gloomy and violent atmospheres and received extensive coverage from the international metal press at the time.

Returning to the Netherlands to record the fourth album ‘Era-Decay’ (2004), two new members joined the ranks of SETH: vocalist Black Messiah and guitarist Cyriex. Afterwards, the band was invited to play at the prestigious Inferno festival in Norway in 2005.

A long hiatus followed, until the band returned in 2011 to play an exclusive show in Germany with the German cult act BETHLEHEM. The band re-joined the ranks of Season of Mist, eventually releasing ‘The Howling Spirit’ (2013) and embarking on a European tour with PESTILENCE. Several appearances at major festivals followed, including Hellfest and Graspop Metal Meeting, concluded by a Canadian headliner tour with new vocalist Saint Vincent (BLACKLODGE).

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Les Blessures de L'Ame’ in 2018, SETHexclusively performed the entire album at festivals in Switzerland, Canada (Messe de Morts) and Belgium (Thronefest). The French label Les Acteurs de l'Ombre productions released a live recording of these shows, called ‘20 ans de Blasphème’. The band’s new line-up featured members of LOUDBLAST, ARKHON INFAUSTUS and MELTED SPACE.
With the flame of SETH burning strong again, the French black metallers started writing new material. On the new record ‘La Morsure du Christ’ (a double meaning title: literally « The Bite of Christ » and phonetically « Christ's death is certain »), they return to their original sound, employ French alexandrine verse in their lyrics and choose a striking image as an album art. The blazing inferno of the Notre-Dame de Paris is depicted on the cover, an event that shuddered the world on April 15, 2019. The release of the record marks the 2nd anniversary of the event.

It's a powerful picture that conveys the very essence of 'La Morsure du Christ.' In a world moving further away from religion and spirituality, the demise of this landmark symbolizes the end of the Christian reign and the ultimate betrayal of God. From the ashes of the cathedral, a godless world will come into being.

After sharing the stage with outstanding acts such as Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, as well as compatriots Rotting Christ, SCAR OF THE SUN has made a name for themselves with the very special ability to merge modern metal sound with atmospheric soundscapes and dynamic riffs. Their upcoming third studio album, Inertia, delivers a fresh take on melodic, atmospheric, often progressively-influenced metal while forging a unique path, and acts as a follow up to their self-titled demo (2005), debut full-length, A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies (2011) and sophomore offering, In Flood (2016).

On Inertia, SCAR OF THE SUN utilizes scientific terminology to transmit their impassioned messages of difficult trials and social awareness lyrically, conveying an overarching theme that reflects one of society’s heaviest burdens – that financial gain has flourished at the expense of humanity and the livelihoods of everyday people.

Terry Nikas about the album:

“Third strike, this album is our punch to the world disarray! The most aggressive album we’ve done so far indicates our current intentions! The main concept of Inertia deals with how financial interests act against the lives of everyday normal people, no matter where you come from, since profit knows no ethics and nationalities.

We become lab rats and we struggle in our everyday life while at the same time that extreme minority that runs the financial interests see people like numbers and value our lives like ants. These are matters that concern and annoy me and I had to get them out of my chest.”

Instrumental intro “Hydrogen” stirs things up before kicking in with hard-hitting title track “Inertia”, evoking a truly thunderous verse and, propelled by blasting drums, leads into an undeniably catchy chorus, while the “Quantum Leap Zero”-trilogy conveys very intense and dramatic events that occured in Greece in 2015: Suppression, rise/revolution and huge defeat in the end. Beginning with “Quantum Leap Zero I: Torque Control”, SCAR OF THE SUN unveils a whole new instrumental facet of the record, splicing their soundscapes with distinctively desolate vibes. “Quantum Leap Zero II: Transition To Turbulence”, on the other hand, calls for an untamed storm to annihilate everything, followed by atmospheric “Oxygen”, smashing “The Fallible Experiment” and poignant trilogy-closer “Quantum Leap Zero III: Thrust”. Inertia ends with “Anastasis” (Greek for “resurrection”), an intense track about the terrible pain of losing someone you love. With this closer, SCAR OF THE SUN manages to put agony into words and turn this palpable despair into emotive music.

Inertia was recorded and mixed by singer and songwriting mastermind Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece and mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Dimmu Borgir) at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden.

Renowned Tricky, Sly & Robbie collaborator Garrison Hawk presents lively dancehall number 'Pretty Pussycat' from 'The Adrenaline' LP

Garrison Hawk (a.k.a. Hawkman) is back with his latest single 'Pretty Pussycat', bringing his special brand of high energy-infused dancehall to video with the help of director Nevaris A.C. and videographer Jacques Lang.

"The meaning of this song lies in the beauty of a woman, not only by sight but at heart. Lyrics-wise, it's about the king and a queen in their castle. Amidst all the service maids and entertainment, one girl catches the king's eyes. He stares at her because of her beautiful cat-walk and her beautiful eyes. She has a very unique style so the king can't help but staring andl the queen notices that he is caught up in her catwalk, causing him great trouble with the queen," says Garrison Hawk.

This song can be found on his new album 'The Adrenaline', which finds this legendary artist returning to his roots with a fantastic dancehall and reggae collection. Having made a solid name for himself in alternative rock, pop and progressive rock for many years, on this LP, the listener can grasp hardcore Jamaican dancehall and a welcome return to the root of dancehall while giving you an adrenaline rush.

Each of the 13 tracks have a stealth intensity that speaks for itself - songs with a feel and meaning that will take you on an imaginary trip. Renowned dancehall deejay (and Janet Jackson collaborator) Beenie Man also makes a special appearance on the track 'Gal Have Wants'.

After Garrison Hawk's extensive work with triphop legend Tricky, including on his 2001 album 'Blowback', the UK artist having told Billboard magazine "Hawk is my partner, musically". Garrison Hawk also gained wide recognition for 'Gangsta Roll', which nudged him on to the world stage, reached #9 on the HYPE TV top 20 chart, and received radio airplay around the world. Hawk's charting club remix of 'Sweet Music' is also notable, having been leaked to radio and subsequently climbing to #11 on the UK pop charts.

"By doing work in different genres of music, I now have a bigger appreciation for loving my roots, which is dancehall and reggae, the real stuff like Shabba Ranks, Ninjaman, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Capleton. I just felt I needed to go back to my authentic roots and that return to the roots is the central theme for my new album," says Garrison Hawk.

Born in Mandeville, Jamaica, Hawk was a teenager when his family relocated to the Bronx, New York. There, he cultivated a distinctive singing and rapping style, and began performing with local sound systems. By the time he was 17, he was touring the U.S. East Coast with key reggae stars, eventually sharing the stage with Shabba Ranks and Super Cat in the late '90s.

After working with Tricky, Hawk signed on with Warner Brothers, with inner label politics seeing his album shelved. He has persevered since then, releasing his 'Survive' album with legendary reggae musicians Sly & Robbie (produced by Bill Laswell and released via NYC label M.O.D. Records) and collaborated with producers Roger Sanchez and Armand Van Helden, DJ Excel and Smoothe da Hustler, the Method Of Defiance collective, Teddy Afro, Gigi, King Jammy and dancehall legend Joe Lickshot, among others.

One of the brashest, most versatile and recognizable young voices to emerge from Jamaica in a generation, Hawk's exciting but arduous journey has honed a nuanced style merging song and rhyme into a soulful mix, radiating life here in the dancehall chants of 'The Adrenaline', now available digitally everywhere, including Spotify and Apple Music.
