W.E.T truly epitomizes what melodic rock has become in the new decade. British hard-rock heroes, Thunder, have announced the release of their 13th studio album ‘All The Right Noises’ on March 12th, 2021. The band have also shared the first single ‘Last One Out Turn Off The Lights’.

The album is a return to the full-throttle sound of Thunder that has seen them create a hugely successful 30+ year career at the forefront of British rock, all built around the lifelong friendship of vocalist extraordinaire Danny Bowes and songwriting genius and guitarist Luke Morley.

‘All The Right Noises’ is an intense confection of illicit charms that reasserts their authority as the number one band in the land. Recorded in the months leading up to the first Covid-19 lockdown, it was originally due for release in September 2020. Strange to reflect then on how much of the new material appears to address the challenging new world we now inhabit.

On the album, Luke says “ All the songs were written and recorded pre-Covid. But it is interesting how if you look at some of the tracks through the prism of Covid they still make a lot of sense.”

The volcanic lead single from the album, ‘Last One Out Turn Off The Lights’ could easily be mistaken for world-ending lockdown rage. But, says Luke, “That was directly about Brexit, but you could apply it to everything else.”

The track is indicative of both the ferocity and message of the album as a whole, with subjects tackled including depression, mental health, and diversity. With their knack for imaginative songwriting, ‘All The Right Noises’ also takes aim at Donald Trump in a song written from his perspective, as well as a song Luke describes as “Like the opposite of ‘My Generation” by The Who in its message.

‘All The Right Noise’ will be available in 1CD, 2CD, 2LP, and 4LP formats, with the 2CD and 4LP releases containing bonus tracks.

The LP versions feature a stunning pop-out of the ‘Singing Ringing Tree’ which appears of the album’s glorious artwork. The photo cover art was shot by the band’s long term collaborator Jason Joyce. The sculpture, which also appears in the video for ‘Last One Out Turn Off The Lights’, is set in Burnley, Lancashire, and resembles a tree which harnesses the energy of the wind to create a choral, discordant sound.

‘All The Right Noises’ follows on from 2019’s stripped back and reimagined album, ‘Please Remain Seated’ which continued their consecutive Top 10 UK Album Chart run since their ecstatically received comeback six years ago.

It is another chapter in the band’s incredibly successful history that has seen them create a succession of some of the most highly-regarded rock albums of the past 30 years. The key to their renown: brilliantly conceived top-drawer material including all-time classics like ‘Dirty Love’, and ‘Low Life In High Places’, described by the late great Radio One Rock Show presenter Tommy Vance as “the greatest ever single released by a rock band”.

With their most recent success, Thunder have proven themselves as vital now as when they emerged with their debut album in 1990 ‘Backstreet Symphony’, and their hit follow-up in 1992 ‘Laughing On Judgement Day’, which was only kept off the top spot by Kylie Minogue.

"'Lonesome and Cold' is a song that has a lot of meaning to us, by being the start track on ‘Echo’, the first single we released from the album and the start riff Natasja wrote 12 years ago. We decided to strip it down to an instrumental song along with making a playthrough video. In addition to that, we hope that everyone does not get lonesome in the cold times ahead of us."

For decades, fans have been asking for a vinyl release of the iconic and beloved albums of viking/folk metal legends WINDIR. On March 5, 2021, that dream will become a reality! The black metal classics 'Soknardalr,' (1997), 'Arntor' (1999), '1184' (2000), and 'Likferd' (2003) will be available in a special limited edition wooden box set via Season of Mist. 'The Sognametal Legacy' box set is strictly limited to 1184 copies worldwide.

WINDIR was founded by Terje “Valfar” Bakken in 1994 and released four albums in the period of 1997 – 2003. The Norwegian band gained a massive following with their unique blend of black and heavy metal with elements of old Norwegian folk music, solidifying their place among the early developers of the folk and viking metal sound. The identity of the group was strongly connected to their home region Sogn, which was demonstrated in the lyrics and in the concepts of the records. Eventually, they invented and adopted the term ‘Sognametal’ for their style.

The band ended abruptly when Terje “Valfar” Bakken died in 2004. The remaining musicians decided to disband WINDIR and formed VREID to march forward, bearing the torch of the Sognametal legacy.

Jarle Hváll Kvåle, bass guitarist and songwriter of VREID and WINDIR, comments on the release: “I am so happy that we are finally able to do this. There has been such a huge demand to release these albums on vinyl and I really have been looking forward to this day. These records are important cornerstones in our lives and represent a time that was very special to us. It is great to have a strong partner on board, and I am very proud that we can do this together with Season of Mist.

"Next year marks the 20th anniversary of '1184,' and we think this is a great occasion to celebrate this unique album, the most important one in the WINDIR history. With this record, WINDIR became a full band for the first time and it was the first time that me and Terje wrote an album together. Norwegian black 'n roll formation VREID have furthermore announced that they will headline the Karmøygeddon festival, with an exclusive '1184' show.

"'1184' is a very important album for us as a band and not least for me personally", states songwriter and bassist Jarle Kvåle. This was the first album Terje and I wrote together. It was the first time that WINDIR became a complete band even though we had played concerts together since 1995 and had been making music together since 1993. It seems inconceivable that it has been 20 years but all the more enjoyable to see how much this record still means to people. We are really looking forward to gather the full band and perform the entire 1184 album at the Karmøygeddon Festival".

With united forces: DRAGONY unveil the truth and rewrite history!

Founded in 2007 and after releasing three studio records, Austrian symphonic power metal heroes DRAGONY return to their rock opera roots on their brand new album, Viribus Unitis, out January 15, 2021 via Napalm Records. Following up on the conceptual approach of their debut album, Legends, on the new album, the band unveils the true history of their home country. We return to the days when Austria was ruled by emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, empress Sisi – but forget everything you’ve heard and read so far!

Today the band has unleashed an energetic music video for their first single and album opener, “Gods Of War”, setting the stage for their imaginative historical concept to unfold.

“The first single "Gods of War" is also the opening track of the album, and sets the stage for the story that is to come: The year is 1867, and Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria is forced to accept the terms of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise after suffering losses in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, effectively establishing the dual monarchy that became known as the "k. & k. Monarchy". In this situation, he is questioning whether his empire even has a future, or only its glorious past.

The music for the song was co-written by Tommy Johansson from SABATON & MAJESTICA with his partner in SYMPHONY OF TRAGEDY, Tomas Svedin, with the vocal lines and lyrics having been composed by our singer Siegfried. Musically, it's therefore a very "Scandinavian-sounding" song that adds another texture to the catalogue of DRAGONY, and we are already very much looking forward to playing this one live at future shows!“

“What DRAGONY did to “Gods of War” is far beyond what I could have expected it to turn out when this song was written. How they play and sing this song is just glorious! What really happened at the time of the last Habsburg ruler of Austria, his wife and their son, the troubled Archduke Rudolf, is revealed by the symphonic power metal six-piece on their fourth full-length, Viribus Unitis. Let’s clear the assumption that Rudolph died after trying to take his life at castle Mayerling in 1889. No way! Instead, after his mother Sisi is assassinated in 1898 in Switzerland, he subsequently gets in contact with dark powers which, driven by his desire to be with her again, make him turn to black magic and demonology. Now history takes its true course. There are not only zombies and cyberpunks lurking – DRAGONY also managed to prove further entanglements of well-known personalities you could never imagine…

Denver Doom-rock outfit SHEPHERD will unleash their debut studio EP, 'First Hand', next Friday (November 20th) on Destruent Records. In anticipation of the record, the band partnered with Decibel Magazine to premiere a new track, titled "Persephone". Fans can check out the new song from the group's upcoming EP right here.

Speaking with Decibel Magazine about "Persephone," the band shares, “Our pursuit always is to make music that people can feel and move to. In 'Persephone,' we wanted to write something straightforward with impact. The pieces fell together and we knew instantly that it was one of our best efforts."

The band DEATH DEALER lead by ROSS THE BOSS has issued a new lyric video, ‘EVERY NATION,” off their forthcoming 3rd record, CONQUERED LANDS - to be released worldwide November 13, 2020, through STEEL CARTEL.

The all-star heavy metal roster of DEATH DEALER features the aforementioned ROSS THE BOSS (ex-MANOWAR), Sean Peck: vocals (CAGE, THE THREE TREMORS, DENNER/SHERMANN), Stu Marshall: guitar (DUNGEON, NIGHT LEGION), Steve Bolognese: drums (ROSS THE BOSS BAND, INTO ETERNITY), and newly added bass player extraordinaire Mike Lepond (SYMPHONY-X, ROSS THE BOSS BAND).

It is almost like DEATH DEALER could see the future when they wrote this song 4 years ago, as “EVERY NATION” asks the question, "What would the world be like if everyone was a metal head?" And the answer is found within this inspiring song and music video. It is times like these that we need to come together and the spirit of heavy metal can do just that.

Sean: "It is kind of weird that I wrote these lyrics 4 years ago and the video was scheduled to come out now in the middle of a turbulent time of division. The song represents how I feel that the metal community that it is an evolved society compared to others. If I see someone with an Iron Maiden shirt on at the store I say hey what is up and throw them the horns. I do not care about any of the things that could divide us. I just know we are both metal loving maniacs and that is the number one thing for me. People say it is a lifestyle off the cuff but it really is."

Ross: "The song is really rocking and has a strong message too. Music is a uniter and the video captured the concept perfectly. This whole album is filled with great songs like this one I am really proud of it. So support heavy metal and pick it up!"

Stu: "I was hoping this track would get picked as one of the songs to do a video for. I always liked how it came together when Sean and I wrote it. This track is one I am sure we will be working into the live set in the future."

Mike: "Sean and Stu let me be as creative as I wanted on the album. They just set me loose and trusted me 100%. This style of metal is right up my alley. It's where my playing is at its best. The level of talent in this band is off the charts. These guys push me to the edge and I love it."

DEMON HUNTER ANNOUNCE SONGS OF DEATH AND RESURRECTION ALBUM AND LIVESTREAM PERFORMANCE

PERFORMING NEW ALBUM IN FULL NOVEMBER 20th

DEMON HUNTER surprised fans today with the announcement of Songs of Death and Resurrection, a brand new acoustic album due March 5th, 2021.

In celebration, the band will livestream a full performance of the album, from start to finish, on November 20th. Songs of Death and Resurrection features 11 newly recorded “Resurrected” versions of classic DEMON HUNTER songs from across their ten studio albums, including “I Am a Stone,” “I Will Fail You,” “Carry Me Down,” and “The Heart of a Graveyard,” plus a brand new composition, “Praise the Void.”

Lush string arrangements, haunting piano, and layered vocal harmonies accompany the “reimagined” acoustic versions found on Songs of Death and Resurrection. The album features founding vocalist/songwriter Ryan Clark, lead guitarist Patrick Judge, bassist Jonathan Dunn, drummer Yogi Watts, and guitarist Jeremiah Scott, who produced and mixed the effort in Atlanta, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee. Scott also produced the band’s War (2019), Peace (2019), Outlive (2017), and Extremist(2014) records. Joanna Ott performed piano and additional vocals throughout. Strings were arranged and performed by Chris Carmichael. Clark’s mother, Peggy, his original vocal inspiration, appears alongside her son for the first time ever, on “Dead Flowers” and “Loneliness.”

DEMON HUNTER will perform the entire album, from start to finish, in an exclusive livestream performance, taped at Dark Horse Studios in Franklin, TN. The livestream will air at 5pm PST November 20th and will remain available for a 48 hour period only.

Clark had this to say about Songs of Death and Resurrection:

The Demon Hunter ballad has been a defining aspect of our band since our very first album. My brother and I knew that if we wanted the freedom to pursue more somber, more melodic moments of creativity, we had to set that precedent from the beginning. What we didn’t realize then was just how important these songs would become to both the band and our fans.

The concept of an acoustic record is something we’ve been considering—and encouraged to pursue by fans—for many years. After ten studio albums, and a tour cycle that included a full acoustic set, it felt like the right time to actualize this idea. What we didn’t want to do is something we had done before. Though we’ve played many of these songs in acoustic fashion over the years, we’ve never done so with such a level of care and attention. We hope that comes across in these recordings.

Jason Bieler is preparing to release his new solo album, “Songs For The Apocalypse,” under the moniker Jason Bieler and The Baron Von Bielski Orchestra, on January 22, 2021 on CD/LP/Digital. Bieler is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer who is also known for playing with hard rock band SAIGON KICK, which achieved a platinum single in the US with the timeless hit "Love Is On The Way" from its gold-selling album "The Lizard", which Jason also produced. Bieler also played in an early touring version of TALISMAN with Marcel Jacob and Jeff Scott Soto, as well as SUPER TRANSATLANTIC, with EXTREME bassist Pat Badger, earning them a gold record for their work on the soundtrack for the "American Pie" movie. Recently, Bieler had been touring extensively as a solo artist. The shows featured a wide array of musical styles, absurdists humor, special guests, and more. New Album 'To Live To Kill To Live' is OUT NOW

Danish prog-thrash veterans MANTICORA have released the second music video from their critically acclaimed ninth album 'To Live To Kill To Live', which is the follow-up/second half to their 2018 concept record 'To Kill To Live To Kill'. Both albums are based on the 334-page horror/thriller novel written by lead singer Lars F. Larsen.

This semi-lyrical video for "Katana - Death of the Meaning of Life" is vividly composed and produced by the talented Chilean video producer Federico Bossinga from the company Abstract Chaos. The story of the song is a very sad, bordering on despair-inducing, tale which the band is delving deep into at several occasions on the last 2 albums, making up the overall concept.

Guitarist Kristian Larsen goes deeper into the story of 'Katana' and the creation of the music video, sharing:

"Since this song deals with the story in which a young Dutch sailor - situated in Hong Kong, 1921, at the time when the story takes place - is falling in love with a local prostitute and looking at what he calls the love of his life, getting brutally murdered by local thugs, we wanted to express ourselves in colours that match the story.

The light blue colours, resembling the room in which most of the story takes place, the dark red, resembling the extreme amount of blood, present in the story, when several people are killed in violent ways (by means of either gun or Katana). Federico (Bossinga) was given the lyrics, the story and all our ideas and impressions of this sad tale and he has splendidly matched the storyline with the colours and imagery."

The music on both albums was recorded partially in the band's own studio and recorded/mixed in Hansen Studioswith World-famous producer, Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Destruction, a.o.) who also produced the first two MANTICORA albums back in the last millenium.

Symphonic metal horror masters CARACH ANGREN have unveiled the spooky new music video for the song "Franckensteina Strataemontanus," which is the title track of the band's 2020 release!

Ardek & Seregor comment on the video: "We hereby proudly present you the visual horror that is 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus!' Over the last few months, we worked with director Zoran Bihac and producer Julia Patey and their extraordinary team on galvanism and alchemy.

The Dutch masters of horror are back with their most flamboyant album so far. On 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus', CARACH ANGREN resurrect the gruesome story of troubled soul ‘Conrad Dippel’; the inspiration of Mary Shelly’s novel 'Frankenstein'.

CARACH ANGREN have extended all the sonic colours on their established palette to dazzling effect. Their trademark whipping guitars are weaving harsh melodies and sinister soundscapes, which are beautifully contrasted by opulent keyboards and majestic orchestrations. That Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) and Peter Tägtgren (PAIN) have called upon the composition talent of Clemens "Ardek" Wijers is a telling sign of his outstanding mastery of the craft. Another signatory counterpoint is provided by Seregor's fierce rasping and shrieking vocals. Adding to the impact, Namtar has become a relentless driving force with his hart hitting yet intricate drumming. Each track on this album is a highlight on its own, while combined 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus ' simply shines.

CARACH ANGREN set out to tell ghost-stories with a set of paranormal cases recorded on the demo 'The Chase Vault Tragedy' (2004). This was soon followed by the official release of the 'Ethereal Veiled Existence' EP (2005) as a prelude to the haunting 'Lammendam' (2008). The Dutch had a clear vision of combining a dark baroque style of metal with horror based lyrical concepts. Their sophomore full-length 'Death Came through a Phantom Ship' (2010) witnessed the band setting sail to bring their eccentric and capturing live performances to audiences and festivals all over Europe. In the wake of third album 'Where the Corpses Sink Forever' (2012), the haunting had reached the Americas and started to spread rapidly. This record added a serious side to the lyrics of CARACH ANGREN. While firmly remaining in the horror genre, their tales revolve around the evils of war. This mature streak was taken a step further with the fourth full-length 'This Is No Fairytale', which is on the surface a darker variation of the "Hansel and Gretel" story from the Brothers Grimm collection, but also deals with the too real topic of child abuse in a dysfunctional family. With ‘Dance And Laugh Amongst The Rotten’ (2017), the band returned to pure story telling with episodes that are centred on a girl playing a little too long with her Ouija board.
