FALLUJAH Unleash Final Single, "Soulbreaker," Ahead Of Sept Record Release

With barely a month remaining before the release of their their highly anticipated 5th studio album, "Empyrean," Bay Area masters of atmospheric technical death metal FALLUJAH have unleashed their final single, a torrential masterpiece titled "Soulbreaker." A masterclass of guitar wizardry and a devastating gut punch of pummeling rhythm, the ripping new track takes fans into the pit with a decimating level of sonic ferocity,

Stream "Soulbreaker": https://bfan.link/Fallujah-Soulbreaker

Commenting on the song, founding guitarist Scott Carstairs says:

"Prepare to have your mind melted by our latest track 'SOULBREAKER.' This will be our third and final single from our monstrous record 'Empyrean' out on 9/9. 'Soulbreaker' is a psychedelic spiral into depravity, relentlessly beating you down with pissed off riffs and ethereal walls of sonic bliss. Try not to break your neck listening to this one."

FALLUJAH emerges, post-pandemic, revitalized as they explore new sonic realms and revisit elements of style executed on early records. About FALLUJAH:
Tech-metal outfit Fallujah intensify their metallic dynamism on stunning new album, "Empyrean." Built on an “all killer, no filler” maxim, the Bay Area-based quartet delivered just that on album number five. From video single “Radiant Ascension” and “Embrace Oblivion” to “Soulbreaker” and “Mindless Omnipotent Master,” "Empyrean" is breathtaking in atmospheric expanse and impressive in sophistication. Fallujah’s overhauled lineup has contributed massively to the level-up on display. Primary songwriter/guitarist Scott Carstairs and compeer/drummer Andrew Baird enlisted Archaeologist’s Kyle Schaefer and Evan Brewer (formerly Entheos/The Faceless) as their new vocalist and bassist, respectively.

Since forming in 2007, Fallujah have triumphed over their challenges. Whether it’s self-administering the band, going to school, writing music, or working full-time, they’ve savored release of and diehard fan admiration for five albums in "The Harvest Wombs" (2011), "The Flesh Prevails" (2014), "Dreamless" (2016), "Undying Light" (2019), and their latest "Empyrean." Indeed, diligence and creative enterprise have resulted in high-profile tours with Whitechapel, Suffocation, The Black Dahlia Murder, and more across North America, Europe, and Australia. Fallujah also prospered with critics in Metal Hammer, Allmusic and Metalsucks. The group’s Billboard chart positions on the Top Hard Rock Albums and Heatseekers Albums prove that with every twist and turn, Fallujah’s fans are with them. "Empyrean," with its revivalist spikes, bolstered atmospherics and high-powered production, is the greatest yet.

"Empyrean" is a specialist’s paradise. As a rhythm/lead player, Carstairs enters a league of his own. Tracks like “The Bitter Taste of Clarity,” “Radiant Ascension,” and “Eden’s Lament” illustrate he’s upped his chops and boosted the emotional outlay. Throughout, he’s careful about compositional placement and how his radiant, palliative leads complement Fallujah’s sapid landscape. Drummer Baird tastefully and aggressively holds down the fort, grooving and syncopating admirably on “Radiant Ascension,” “Embrace Oblivion,” and “Mindless Omnipotent Master.” Fallujah’s long-standing timekeeper has always been great, but on "Empyrean," he’s superior. Right there with him is recently joined bassist Evan Brewer, thundering and bopping on, around, and against Baird’s foundation like a seasoned prizefighter. “Duality of Intent” is but one of Brewer’s standouts. Although known for his guitar work outside of Fallujah, newcomer vocalist Kyle Schaefer’s low-end and mid-range bark perfectly matches the existential threat-themed lyrics.

Throughout "Empyrean," Fallujah surprise. Musically, lyrically, and with their bevy of guests, they add hard-to-describe depth and musical import. Vocalist Tori Letzler (Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice) reprises her angelic role on “Radiant Ascension” and “Artifacts,” while Chiasma’s Katie Thompson also reappears to elevate “Embrace Oblivion” and “Into the Eventide.” Chaney Crabb of Entheos and Cyborg Octopus’s David Wu tender their considerable talents on “Mindless Omnipotent Master” and “Duality of Intent,” respectively. Celebrated artist Peter Mohrbacher (Serenity in Murder, Rainbowdragoneyes) replays his role on "Empyrean" as well. Truly, this is an all-star cast appearing on a momentous album by a band reaching beyond.

From the beginning of this writing process and until the end, we painstakingly made sure every aspect of this record would blow away our listeners,” states Carstairs. “We meticulously scrutinized every riff and note choice. There has never been this much effort put into a Fallujah record as we did with 'Empyrean,' and the result is a truly monstrous record that we believe is the band’s best work by a significant margin. We showed you restraint on the last record. Now, let us show you what happens when we leave it all on the table.

Venture into Fallujah’s exosphere on "Empyrean." They’re waiting for you.

VINCE GILL WRAPS FOUR-NIGHT, SOLD-OUT RESIDENCY AT
RYMAN AUDITORIUM AS PART OF HISTORIC VENUE’S
130th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Country Music Hall of Famer and Grand Ole Opry Member Vince Gill wrapped his sold-out, four-night residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium last night, Aug. 7. The run of shows from Aug. 4-7 featured nearly four-hour sets and included fan favorites like “When I Call Your Name,” “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” among many others. The shows were filled with special guests including Gill’s daughter Corrina who performed a special tribute to her mom Amy Grant, singing her dad's 2021 Grammy Award-winning Best Country Solo Performance of “When My Amy Prays,” changing the lyrics to “When My Momma Prays.” The residency marked the GRAMMY Award-winner’s first solo performance at the Mother Church since two back-to-back sold out shows in 2017.

Gill’s career-spanning setlists varied night to night and featured special guest and “The Voice” Season 21 runner up Wendy Moten, giving fans unique experiences each show. Gill performed more than 30 songs with his all-star band which included Paul Franklin (steel), Billy Thomas (drums), Jimmie Lee Sloas (bass), Jedd Hughes (guitar),
Jack Schneider (guitar), John Jarvis (keyboards) and the aforementioned Moten and Gill. Gill also gave audiences a preview of new songs he wrote during the pandemic. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer movingly told stories behind each song including the poignant “Benny’s Song,” which Gill penned after the 2020 death of his oldest friend and long-time guitar tech Benny Garcia.

During the residency, it was announced by Moten that Gill will be the next CMT “Giant.” “CMT GIANTS: Vince Gill,” an all-new 90-minute special celebrating the extraordinary career and music of the country music titan, premieres Friday, September 16th exclusively on CMT. Gill continues on tour the month of August, wrapping up the successful run of dates in Atlanta on Aug. 28. Fall of 2022 sees his return to performing live with the Eagles, who he has worked with since 2017. He’ll finish the year with the return of ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ residency he shares with wife Grant Dec. 12-21.

Already a fixture on the Ryman stage with the annual ‘Christmas at the Ryman’ shows and many appearances at the Ryman’s annual Bluegrass Nights series, Gill’s residency added to the Ryman’s 130th anniversary celebration and joined the growing list of 2022 Ryman Residencies, including Dwight Yoakam (Jan. 19-21); Tedeschi Trucks Band(Feb. 22-23, 25-26); Billy Strings (May 6-8), John Mulaney, the Ryman’s first-ever comedy residency, Jason Isbell (Oct. 15-23) and Brett Eldredge (Nov. 25-27).

Since the first concert on May 4, 1892, the Ryman has celebrated an array of entertainment acts and all genres of music on its hallowed stage – from magician Harry Houdini to comic actor Charlie Chaplin and former president Theodore Roosevelt to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., plus music icons from all genres including Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, B.B. King, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, Lizzo and Harry Styles.

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX Premieres New Song, "Bonefire"

Progressive rock collective CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX will be releasing a brand new album, 'Banefyre,' on September 9 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the third new single from the offering, "Bonefire," which can be heard below.

Singer/percussionist Belinda Kordic explains, "'Bonefire' is targeted at the politicians, who’re some of the wealthiest people around, and also the most un-empathetic sons of bitches towards the poorest and most vulnerable in our society. These people in government have the power to change things around, make a difference, but they choose not to. It’s an ideological choice they make. The bottom line is.. these people just don’t give a hoot about anything but themselves. They are not all bad. But there sure are some rotten eggs. Chuck em on a fire of bones and let them contemplate on their actions for a while.

"Ps! No politicians were hurt during the making of this song."

Mastermind Justin Greaves adds, "This song makes so much sense to me. When Belinda told me what it’s about and sent me the lyrics, i saw how pissed off she is at the way things are with the ruling class. And so am I. And so are a lot of people. I mean, the song was written two years ago, and it was bad then, but now, especially here in the UK it has reached a new low when it comes to the massive class divide and the utter contempt the dumb government scumbags show to people. The people who are supposed to be taken care of. I personally think we should burn the whole damn political system down. Throw the politicians on the fire and cleanse the energy of the world."

Pre-orders for 'Banefyre' are now live HERE while the album can be pre-saved across digital streaming services HERE.

The thread that binds CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s bold and towering discography — a dozen studio albums, a half-dozen mini-albums, a handful of compilations and swaths of bootlegs — could not be more apropos circa 2022. Since its 2004 creation by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Justin Greaves, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX has served as the voice for the voiceless, whether it be animals, the unequal and the different. Greaves and longstanding vocalist and lyricist Belinda Kordic have often proffered that these beings cannot fend for themselves. Henceforth, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s mission has been to shed light on the human condition and the inequalities that befall humankind and its creatures. Their battle marches on with their latest studio album, Banefyre.

Banefyre follows 2020’s Ellengæst — an effort that found CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX employ a series of notable guest vocalists alongside Kordic, prompting Metal Hammer to describe it as their “most cohesive and emotionally devastating record.” Kordic is now paired with Swedish vocalist Joel Segerstedt, who made his CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX debut last year via the “Painful Reminder/Dead is Dead” single. Piano, synth and trumpet player Helen Stanley and additional guitarist Andy Taylor complete the lineup. Greaves says Stanley and Taylor “fit so well creatively,” which has made CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX feel like a band when making plans and decisions.

Also central to this is Segerstedt. According to Kordic, the vocalist and lyricist lives a mere five minutes from her in Sweden and has quickly integrated himself into the band. “What I like about Joel is that he’s a good person,” she says. “There’s no fakeness with him; he has cajones. He’s not a bitch-talker, either. I can’t handle people who don’t have a backbone, but Joel is real and can speak his mind.”

“I like how Joel has come in and spoke for himself,” adds Greaves. “He’s in the band for the right reasons. I see him the same way as Belinda — she took an interest in the whole artistic thing behind CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX, like the vocals, lyrics, artwork and aesthetic. It’s the same with Joel. He has taken an interest in all of those things. In the past, we had people who didn’t contribute artistically and only cared about what they got out of the band. But Joel is really proactive and takes the initiative.”

Greaves assembled 13 songs (including “No Regrets,” a bonus track for his new project with Kordic, Johnny the Boy) imbued with the depth and introspection that will reinforce CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s standing as a band that defies genre. The album was tracked at Chapel Studios in South Thoresby, Lincolnshire, with vocals cut at Monolith Studio and Kapsylen Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. Kurt Ballou handled mixing in GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts — a pivotal move in determining the album’s overall sound.

“I love the album so much because it was a different approach with the production,” says Greaves. “For my part, it was a little bit of a reaction. I didn’t want to do the same warm, safe CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX album. I’m aware that when we did [2012’s] I, Vigilante, everyone wanted I, Vigilante again. As it so often happens with this band, people complain about the next one, then grow into it. Ellengæst is like I, Vigilante. It’s a shorter album. It hit the mark and was done really well, but everyone will expect another Ellengæst. I feared that, but I care enough not to make another Ellengæst. It’s the right thing to do. That’s why we got Kurt to mix it — we wanted that analog, raw power. Even though the album has mellow moments, those are edgy as well. We just didn’t want to do the same album twice. We’re never going to be a band that people can rely on.”

Greaves’ summation of his band notwithstanding, his distinctive guitar playing and enduring knack for immersive songwriting is the propellent behind the haunting, chant-laden “Ghostland,” pensive “The Reckoning” and forlorn “Everything is Beautiful but Us,” the band’s spot-on analysis of the retreat of humankind indoors during the pandemic that revealed nature’s priceless beauty. The album is also stocked with no less than four ten-minute-plus cuts (“Rose of Jericho,” “Down the Rabbit Hole,” “I’m Okay, Just Not Alright” and “The Scene is a False Prophet”) that are intermixed with drama and melancholy.

It all ties into Banefyre’s central theme of the persecution of people who are deemed “different” by society. The album title is a play on the song “Bonefire” that Kordic named and wrote lyrics for. In classic CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX fashion, Greaves turned it into the Olde English translation to represent the bonfires that engulfed witches and politicians through the 15th and 18th centuries, hence, the name Banefyre.

The album begins with “Incantation for the Different,” which was written and orated by Chicago-based witch, artist, author and occultist Shane Bugbee, who, according to Greaves, “brought us some positive, dark energy.” Banefyre then delves into the Salem Witch Trials (“Wyches and Basterdz”), fox hunting in Great Britain (“The Reckoning”), politicians of an unscrupulous and dishonest kind (“Bonefire”) and the New York City Blackout of 1977 (“Blackout77”).

Greaves says Banefyre’s topics may have a decidedly negative and pessimistic tone, but a glimmer of hope and joy remains. “There’s always the random bits, but overall, Banefyre is about the people who have suffered because they are different. The album covers inequality and oppression, like ‘Incantation for the Different,’ which is about overcoming when you’re put down because you’re not like everyone else.”

In true CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX fashion, the Lucy Marshall-created Banefyre cover leaves plenty to the imagination, depicting four animals seated at a table — interacting and dressed like human beings. “It’s sort of like Planet of the Apes showing what animals could do to humans,” says Greaves. “The cover was specially commissioned and is unique to the album. It’s incorporating all the classic CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX elements with the love for animals and twisting the narrative around.”

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX’s reputation was built on the back of their studio albums and live shows. The pandemic prevented the band from supporting Ellengæst, but it did provide them additional time to bring in new members to their live configuration.

“We’ve done one show since 2019,” says Greaves. “We are going to do something in Europe this year. Hopefully, we can get back on track. We’re also going to do something in the States — that’s not just talk, we’re actually going to do it. It’s well overdue. The live band is fucking amazing. We have the five of us and now we have Jordi [Farré] on drums, Paco [Fleischfresser] on synth and a really good friend of mine, Matt Crawford on bass.

“We did the Leipzig show and even though the rehearsals were better than the show itself, that lineup, our live band, is so good. Because we haven’t been under pressure to put a live band together since 2019 and spent so long talking to people, we’ve got a better band from those results. Out of disaster, we’ve got quite a good, positive thing.”

https://orcd.co/razor-cycleofcontempt

Canadian thrash metal legends RAZOR return with Cycle of Contempt, their first new full-length album in 25 years! Cycle of Contempt is a direct, cutthroat record that pulls no punches and takes no prisoners.

Watch RAZOR’s official lyric video for “Flames of Hatred” below.

“We are so psyched to finally offer this recording to our awesome and patient fanbase! It was our pleasure to make this for you and we sincerely hope you feel it was worth the wait. Play it loud my friends!” - Dave Carlo, Razor Guitarist

Cycle of Contempt is out September 23 on LP/CD/CS/Digital. Physical pre-orders are available via Relapse.com HERE,  Digital Downloads/Streaming HERE.

Anyone that cut their metal teeth with The Big Four, and then dug a little deeper into the indie scene, should receive a major endorphin rush when they discover that speed and thrash masters RAZOR are about to release their first studio offering in 25 years entitledCycle of Contempt.

From the catchy, concise riffs and insistent beats of album opener “Flames of Hatred” to the double-barreled assault, muted power chord chugging and combative gang vocal of album closer “King Shit,” Cycle of Contempt is a trenchant reminder of a time when clubs around the world were packed with long-haired bands that played as fast as they could to mosh pits that spun and tumbled like clothes in a short-circuiting dryer.

As energetic and exciting as Evil Invaders and as urgent and powerful as RAZOR’s 1989 speed-fest Violent Restitution, Cycle of Contempt showcases a band that never stopped spewing venom.

“I tried to write songs that everybody could listen to and say, “Yeah, I know a guy who's done that to me or done this, or I know that situation. I can relate to that,” band founder Dave Carlo says. “And I didn’t want to make everything specifically about me because when you do that, you exclude people. I wanted to include everyone that’s ever felt pissed off about anything.”

An unrelenting slab of old-school thrash that showcases RAZOR's encyclopedic knowledge of the past along with Carlo’s growth as a songwriter, player, and lyricist, Cycle of Contempt is here to show that RAZOR are as dominating as ever.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out quickly. This song is not the usual. It's not like us. But this is the cry of my soul. War is always a huge tragedy for everyone. Please stop the violence and this war. I know many of you wanted to hear something different from us. But right now we want do it this way and sounds like that. This is our message. I am from Russia. SPIRITWORLD drop new track, 'Moonlit Torture' Feat. Dwid Hellion of Integrity

SPIRITWORLD rides again. Leaving a trail of blood and dust, Stu Folsom and his gang from somewhere south of heaven, return with a new single and video, Moonlit Torture. Featuring vocals from Integrity mastermind, Dwid Hellion, Moonlit Torture is SPIRITWORLD’s first new song since their acclaimed Pagan Rhythms debut collection and a hint of what’s to come as the band saddles up for their first time on Europe’s soon-to-be blood-soaked soil. Stream the track HERE and watch the accompanying video below.

Discussing the new single, Folsom informs:

"Moonlit Torture was produced by Sam Pura (The Story So Far, Basement) with Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta, Residente) on drums and features guest vocals from Dwid Hellion (Integrity, Psywarfare). Integrity's 'Humanity is the Devil' was the first record I ever bought from a hardcore band when it came out. To say that album shaped my life and taste in extreme music would be an understatement! Hearing Dwid howl over top of my riffs is possibly the coolest shit ever!"

Says Dwid on his contribution to Moonlit Torture:

“Keep your eye on SPIRITWORLD because the apocalypse is about to be fully unleashed! I feel honored to have been invited up to testify on their pulverizing new sermon, Moonlit Torture. Unleash the fiend within!”

SPIRITWORLD emerged in 2017 as a musical outlet for Folsom’s love of punk, outlaw country and metal. SPIRITWORLD’s earliest efforts took a decidedly outlaw roots punk bent. Yet, it was with the full-metal direction taken on the initially self-released Pagan Rhythms, (re-released in 2021 through SPIRITWORLD’s new label home, Century Media) that won the band international acclaim. Daniel P. Carter, BBC 1 DJ and curator of The Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter, as well as the likes of Exodus/Slayer guitarist Gary Holt and former Sepultura/current Soulfly leader Max Cavalera sang the album’s praises on their social media, discovering the band on word-of-mouth alone.

AVANTASIA mastermind Tobias Sammet comments: “There are still some special voices and artists left that I wanted to work with; one of them being NIGHTWISH singer and frontwoman, Floor Jansen. 'Misplaced Among The Angels' was already finished when I asked Floor to contribute to the song. She said she could imagine singing it, although she wasn't 100% sure at the beginning of the lower range passages would suit her rather higher range singing style. But without further ado, she gave it a shot and she delivered unbelievably. I personally think that 'Misplaced Among The Angels', complete with Floor’s strong voice, is one of the best ballads of my entire career“.

Indie rock band The Intemperate Sons will release their new album The Color Within along with the title track to all major platforms via FRAME|WORK on August 12, 2022.

"The single is the title track off the full-length album, The Color Within. The rest of the album is dropping along with the new single. This track was the last one recorded for the album where we worked with our friend, Tony Franklin (The Firm, Whitesnake, Blue Murder), and his fretless bass genius. This track explores getting inside the mind a beautiful person that has been abused and their struggle to realize who they are while it continues to happen. The theme is that we’re all a work of art painted by the color of our experience." says the band.

The album was produced by Amir Derakh and Keith Watson. Amir mixed the album and played bass on 'Wall of Glass", "What’s Done is Done", "Broken Door", "Remission", and "Believe", as well as, played slide guitar on "Dust to Dust." Tony Franklin played bass on "Running Man", "The Color Within", and "Dust to Dust." Mike Marsh mastered the album. All songs were recorded at The Kitchen Recording Studio, Dallas, TX by John Painter.

Formed in the summer of 2019, The Intemperate Sons are an indie-rock band that are the perfect concoction of hard rock mixed with folk, grunge, and alt sensibilities. The band hails from Dallas, Texas and have earned a reputation of writing and performing songs that scratch deep into the groove of the human experience. The band’s music is deeply eclectic across the rock genre with powerful vocal harmonies to tie their melodies together. Fronted by Max Watson (lead vocals, guitars, keys) who plays alongside Jake Watson (guitars, backing vocals) and Mark Marks (Bass), and anchored by Keith Watson (drums, backing vocals, primary lyricist) they form what is a tight knit rock and roll band that is The Intemperate Sons.

A Shoreline Dream awakens on 'Alarms Stop Ringing' SINGLE, previewing new LP

"Delicate curves and beauty... a glorious dawn" PopMatters

"Goth heaven... one of the leading lights of the neo-shoegaze movement" DKFM

"A wild and beautiful thing" The Big Takeover

"Shadowy and storming dreaminess.. reminiscent" Stereo Embers Magazine

Iconic shoegaze / postpunk outfit A Shoreline Dream are back with a new album after a pandemic time-out. 'Loveblind' will arrive on September 23 via Latenight Weeknight Records, following their critically acclaimed 'Melting' album(2020). Ahead of this, the band presents the infectious lead track 'Alarms Stop Ringing', previewing 40 minutes of goth-induced progressive walls of sound. 'Loveblind' promises to be an album shoegazers, post rock lovers and daydreamers should take note of.

The sixth full-length album from the prog-goth shoegazers dives into the recollections and desires of the past while gazing in a wash of sound waves pointed towards a blinding future. Recorded from November 2021 - July 2022 in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado with fine-tuned production from Ryan Policky, this album features immense synth layers, the band's signature guitar and symphonic vocals from the bottom of a well.

'Alarms Stop Ringing' is accompanied by an equally mesmerizing video, filmed at The Best Little Boarding House and Black Monarch Hotel in Victor, Colorado. Starring Allan Cutler, Jessica Halpine, Matilda Marginal, Alyssa Wyss and Elyssa Gleeson, it was directed, filmed and edited by Ryan Policky with costume design by MARGINAL and Jessica Halpine.

“Victor is one of my favorite places to detach from society and the star of the album. The cover artwork and this video were visually born from it. In the late 1800’s, the main street burned to the ground and left behind a super haunted presence. Fast forward to present day - two locations on this main street are some of the most amazing spots to visit. The Black Monarch is a goth hotel dream-come-true, frequented by Tesla back in his day, and The Best Little Boarding House is a converted brothel that is probably the most haunted place in the city (Just try staying asleep through the night!)," says Ryan Policky.

"These became the main set pieces for the video, which help tell the story of a man haunted by relationships and memories of his past while attempting to move forward in his own personal struggle. A dream location for a surrealistic photographer such as myself, and an amazing visit to say the least. Having 3 days to roam the ruins and find new locations to explore really helped bring it all to life.”

Over the years, A Shoreline Dream has churned out numerous acclaimed releases, working with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers(for whom they created a remix for progressive label gods K-Scope). They also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance.

While the pandemic has taken its toll on our mental well-being, the perception of money and power has blown previous years away. Dying to get back to the good times, moments of pure, unscathed lust, we are eager for new experiences to sweep us off our feet. 'Loveblind' reaches for that same energy, taking cues from previous A Shoreline Dream works released over the past 16 years, drawing more from their progressive goth roots. Layers of moodiness, blissful explosions of rock and chugging tempo mix with the pain, love, hope and moments of near death experienced while creating the album itself.

On July 27, 'Alarms Stop Ringing' will be available for download exclusively via Bandcamp, where the full 'Loveblind' album can be pre-ordered. As of September 23, the album will be released everywhere online, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Oakland soulful rock outfit SEAL PARTY release debut album 'MMXXII' LP with all-star cast of 22 artists

"A dynamic duo where their soul music talents can shine when given the opportunity to create for themselves. Their style can be compared to greats of the genre, such as Sly and the Family Stone, Dexys Midnight Runners, and The Isley Brothers" ~ Vents Magazine

"Fun improvised sense of music collectivism... Soulful, optimistic and uplifting, Seal Party's music packs a powerful mix of rock, soul and R&B, created and performed with taste, along with a good sense of groove" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"The uplifting lyrics combined with the sweet harmonies are smooth and calming... a three-minute escape from stressful realities to reflect on life’s silver linings and appreciate every minute despite ups and downs" ~ Music-News.com

Soulful art-rock outfit Seal Party presents their rich and captivating debut album 'MMXXII', a meaningful and timeless place that is filled with improvisation, fury, and lyrical beauty, Evoking ‘70s soul, rock and R&B while maintaining a raw and exploratory approach, this eclectic work meshes unusual songwriting and musicianship with a style that is at once playful and rebellious.

Ahead of this release, they presented the singles 'Maison', featuring R&B organ wizard Chris Rob (Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Anita Baker, Talib Kweli), and 'Kaleka', a stunning piano-based composition that brings together the best elements of David Bowie and Joe Cocker.

As a songwriting-production duo, Chris McGrew (drums/production) and Kevin Seal (keyboards/vocals) formed Seal Party after many years of helping other artists realize their visions. On their debut record, these studio veterans let their own voices come to the fore, revealing their fury and beauty, both rock and groove. Epic melodies soar over tasty chords to tell their stories.

Surprising sounds come when sidemen step into the spotlight. Habitually session musicians, quarantine culture gave McGrew and Seal access to an empty recording studio -- namely Studio C of Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco (AKA Wally’s HydeOut), in the room of the former Wally Heider Studios, where artists ranging from the Dead Kennedys to the Grateful Dead to Herbie Hancock recorded some of their most legendary sides.

Recorded by Liam Wesley Craddock and Chris McGrew, the 'MMXXII' album was mixed by McGrew and Jaimeson Durr (Sammy Haggar, Joe Satriani, Hope Sandoval).

This record involves world-class horn players, violinists, organists and vocalists. An all-star cast of 22 collaborators includes blues and RnB royalty like Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer, Patti LaBelle) and Keyon Harrold (D’Angelo, Maxwell), punk icon Larry Boothroyd (Jello Biafra & the Guantanamo School of Medicine, Victims Family), bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Fantastic Negrito), Ben Misterka (Collectivity), saxophonist Kenneth Whalum (Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Maxwell, Justin Timberlake), trumpeter Rich Armstrong (Spoon, Boz Scaggs, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Thomas Dolby), guitarist Jonnie Axtell (Psychefunkapus, Dee Snider, Tone Loc) and saxophonist Daniel Casares (Atta Kid, Jazz Mafia, the New Mastersounds).

The result is 'MMXXII' - a continuous, expansive, engrossing album that is eclectic and beautiful. Decades of studio magic seep into the tracks, like the casks flavoring the Scotch. Stretching across genre boundaries, jazz luminaries and punk stalwarts join together to create a series of unique songs.

On August 5, 'MMXXII" album will be available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp, where the full 'MMXXII' album can already be ordered. The digital version will be released via New Age Distribution and the CD released by X Racer Productions.

Glasgow indie-folk outfit STARRY SKIES present 'Smile Through The Dark' single ahead of new 'Small Wonders' LP

"Among the finest of the current crop” ~ Clash Magazine

"Upbeat and uplifting pop - perfect for all seasons" ~ Rough Trade Records

"Ticks all of the boxes in terms of infectiousness, addiction, groove and melody and has some real depth... straight-forward and brilliant" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

“Revolutionary, authentic and unifying" ~ The Manc Review

“One of the finest singers Scotland has ever produced…singular song writing talent” ~ Stevie Jackson (B&S)

“Beautiful, exciting and timeless” ~ Red Handed Magazine

Glasgow-based Starry Skies are set to release their fourth studio album ‘Small Wonders’ via Fox Star Records, following up 2020’s long player ‘Do It With Love’. With a brilliant mix of classic rock, power pop and folk pop, the band is back with a crowdfunded album of shimmering delights. Ahead of this, the band is previewing the sublime first track from this record - 'Smile Through The Dark'.

Early reviews of the album have dubbed this hearty 10-track collection a "masterpiece" and their strongest work yet. Recorded in 2021, these songs encourage folks to find the positive wherever we can.

Shaped by personal encounters with music icons Nina Simone, Iggy Pop and Chuck Berry, Warren McIntyre (a.k.a. Warren Starry Sky) founded the band in 2014 to encourage the proliferation of positive, hopeful music. Today, Starry Skies is made up of McIntyre, Jenny Lunan, Heather Phillips, Sophie Pragnell, Johnny Rooney and Adam Scott, who come from various parts of Scotland, England and Australia. Over the years, they have supported Snow Patrol, Belle and Sebastian, The Vaselines and Teenage Fanclub.

Packed full of upbeat, catchy songs with the inspired thoughtful lyrics that the Starries are known for producing, 'Small Wonders' was recorded and produced by Matt Harvey at Maybank Studios, perhaps best known for his work with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Scottish Opera, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by legendary mastering engineer Frank Arkwright (Arcade Fire, The Smiths, New Order, Coldplay, Oasis, Primal Scream, Blur, Mogwai, Bryan Ferry, Scott Walker, The Charlatans).

"This record is intended to celebrate the small wonders that are all around us if we open our eyes to see them. The songs were written during 2021, when we were all really grateful for small things like being able to go for a walk with a friend. But, as a collection, they ended up a bit of a mish-mash of lyrical-led protest songs, some folk-pop with cello, viola and violin, a beautiful sparse piano ballad and even a couple of punky indie dance floor fillers," says Warren McIntyre.

Ahead of the album, the band presents sonic goodness, hope, beauty and kindness in the songs 'Kindhearted People' and 'Spitfire Susie', which tells the story of a local hero and force of nature Miss Susie Ross, who fixed spitfires during the war and taught thousands of children in the years afterward. She and Warren became friends and he wrote the song in her honour.

"The song 'Highwater Eagle' is written from the standpoint of a young First Nation woman. After recording it, we worried about anyone thinking it was cultural appropriation, so I sent it to the Native American Indian Association. Their president A’lice Myers Hall wrote back to say she thought the words are beautiful and that I had been sent the words to share with people. She also suggested working with some native poets and musicians to share stories," says McIntyre.

'Smile Through The Dark' is available now via Bandcamp,, where the 'Small Wonders' album is currently available for pre-order. As of August 12, it will be made available everywhere, including Apple Music and Spotify and Bandcamp, as well as on CD and sky-blue vinyl. It can be ordered from record shops or purchased directly from Last Night From Glasgow. The album is distributed through Proper Distribution in the UK and Redeye in the USA.

Scotty McCreery Partners with Dr Pepper for "The Flyaway Experience You Deserve"

Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery, who is currently at No.1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for the third consecutive week with his hit song “Damn Strait,” has partnered with Dr Pepper to give fans the chance to win “The Flyaway Experience You Deserve.” The grand prize includes travel, meet and greet, and tickets to one of McCreery’s shows later this year. Fans can visit DrPepperMusic.com/Scotty-McCreery to sign up for a chance to win, get more information and learn more about McCreery.

“I’ve been drinking Dr Pepper ever since I was a kid playing baseball with my friends. That was always our drink after the games,” said McCreery. “Dr Pepper has always been one of my favorites.”

McCreery’s Dr Pepper promotion kicked off on Aug. 1, via social media and centers around the North Carolina native’s recent No.1 hit “You Time,” which the singer wrote with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis. McCreery will also be featured as part of Dr Pepper’s in-store display marketing materials in major grocery chains throughout select markets including Albertsons, Food City, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, Winn Dixie, and more throughout August.

“Damn Strait” is McCreery’s fifth consecutive No.1 hit, following “You Time,” “In Between,” “This is It,” and “Five More Minutes.” Upon the song’s release, Rolling Stone named it a “Pick of the Week” calling it “clever songwriting, delivered by one of the genres’ best King George disciples,” while Billboard praises, “Another ace is the clever track ‘Damn Strait,’ a rare outside cut on the project, penned by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins, in which McCreery name checks several of King George's greatest hits.” Taste of Country recently named it “one of the top 10 country songs of 2022 so far.”

Both “Damn Strait” and “You Time” are featured on his current album, Same Truck, produced by Frank Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis. Released in late 2021, the Garner, North Carolina native shifted his perspective to reflect on the last decade of his career and life with wife Gabi and dog Moose, with Tennessean sharing, “McCreery walks a sonic tightrope that leans into his country influences while not abandoning modern Music Row hitmaking,” while Sounds Like Nashville observes, “with 12 tracks in total, those songs ended up showing more maturity than ever, and exploring everything from the common bonds his fans share to the eternal flame of romance.”

McCreery and his wife Gabi recently announced in People that they are expecting their first child, a boy, to be born in early November.

Watch below.

Debut Album, “The Resurrection Of Lilith”, out September 2nd

Pre-Order NOW!

Extreme melodic death metal upstarts DEFACING GOD command notice with their hauntingly dark and refreshingly honest debut album, The Resurrection Of Lilith, set for release on September 2, 2022 via Napalm Records. The record marks a multifaceted, grim and bludgeoning escape that spans the arc between raw death metal and symphonic grandiosity with ease, showcasing DEFACING GOD’s ambition to bewitch metal fans around the world with their sonic universe. With their conceptual themes, the Denmark based outfit focuses on the seeping darkness that moves in us all – rooted in occultism and witchcraft, but primarily the mythologically mysterious female demon Lilith and her tales of fervent defiance and perseverance.

The second single from The Resurrection of Lilith, entitled “The End Of Times”, is out now – and a direct hit to the skull! Starting with a wall of blast beats and fast palm muted guitar rhythms, this banger takes you right into insanity, sorrow and pain. “The End Of Times” is a perfect example of extreme melodies paired with haunting orchestral elements, echoing the styles of artists such as Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir

DEFACING GOD on “The End Of Times”:

“The term ‘End Of times’ relates to the era that precedes the termination of life on earth, with different man-made religions interpreting the events and time of its occurrence. The end of times marks the moment of divine retribution where the world will receive its grand judgement, widely referred as the Apocalypse. In our attempt on creating the sound and the visuals of the Apocalypse, the world is seen through the eyes of Lilith. The lyrics say, ‘This is the end of times; the cosmic energy has brought. Omniscience balance, the ascension has begun’.

We can ́t control the power of nature and cosmic events as we are simple mortal beings. Not only are we threatened by the force of nature beyond our control, but we are also threatened by our own flesh and blood. The urge of materialism, authority, power, status, and money, which can all lead to wars, oppression, pain, and sorrow. The song refers to the spiritual aspects and realities that are supposed to be hidden behind humanity’s material world and the evil of the spiritual world, but in fact it alludes to the man-made horrors of war, greed, oppression, mass consumption, the lack of integrity, and our self-made road to destruction which will eventually lead to the end of humanity. If we were to be asked, ‘What would the Apocalypse sound like?’, then this is it. As the lyrics also state, ‘Passengers on the death train, welcome everybody – time to climb onboard!’”

Through their storytelling, music and aesthetic, the band pulls their listeners into a dark universe of obscure myths, folklore and ancient stories, all the while weaving in often subtle lyrical inspirations from modern societal oppressions and personal demons. Sonically, DEFACING GOD balance massive extreme melodies with a twist of grandiose orchestration by Lars Vinther, echoing the styles of artists such as Cradle of FilthCarach Angren and Dimmu Borgir. But rather than blend it with a conventional dose of black metal, the band proudly merges these auras with infernal death metal. Additionally, The Resurrection Of Lilith was produced by Jacob Hansen – known for his work with Fleshgod ApocalypseVolbeatEvergreyEpica and countless others.

DEFACING GOD state:

“The stories draw parallels to the ancient, but also the present world where many people (Lilith ́s point of view: women) still have to fight for their freedom and justice. A world where there are still people being oppressed and held down either because of their gender, ethnicity or their personal conviction. We are enslaved by society in so many ways that it ́s even hard to imagine and to comprehend. Furthermore, ‘Lilith’ speaks up for strong bonds, exactly like the one we're having in the metal community. The mission for Lilith, is to send out a message saying that we are stronger if we truly stand together and with being free and with the right mindset, we can change the world.

In the name of art there should no boundaries and everyone should have the freedom to be their own independent self, to explore and to express as they desire without being judged or oppressed.”

Pre-order DEFACING GOD's debut The Resurrection Of Lilith NOW!

The rising force of occult Melodic Death Metal with their impressively grand debut!

The Resurrection Of Lilith arises with a cinematic, chanting introduction, leading the listener into the demonic world of DEFACING GOD. Building up tension to release into an uncompromising melodic, orchestral death metal assault on “The Invocation Part I “Lilith””, the track emerges as the first of three songs introducing female forces of legend as a trinity to be reckoned with – the first being Lilith, Adam’s first wife, who refused to obey and now reigns as a symbol of feminine rage and independency, but also for the darkness found within oneself. Bookending the undeniably strong “The Resurrection” are parts two and three – “The Invocation Part II “Jezebel”” and “The Invocation Part III “Abyzou”” – which lead into “The Rise of Trinity”. The remainder of The Resurrection Of Lilith proves to be an auditory onslaught of epic proportions, seeing DEFACING GOD unleash their supreme power and full songwriting dynamics with varying yet unrelentingly hard-hitting tracks like “The End Of Times”“Echoes From Fulda”“Death Followed Like a Plague” and “Enslaved”. Penultimate track “In the Land of Rain and Sorrow” blasts with a blackened, dense wall of sound before the album closes with encapsulating, symphonic “Into the Mist of Memories” – featuring a neo-classically inspired guitar solo.

DEFACING GOD are:

Sandie Gjørtz - Vocals

Signar Petersen - Lead Guitar

Christian Snapholt Nielsen - Rhythm Guitar

Michael Olsson - Drums

Rasmus "Kalke" Nielsen - Bass

Michael Ray Announces "The Warehouse Sessions" Live EP

On the heels of his fourth No. 1 single “Whiskey And Rain” reaching RIAA Platinum-certified status, hitmaker Michael Ray announces The Warehouse Sessions live EP via Warner Music Nashville, featuring four tracks from Higher Education and his second No. 1 single, RIAA Platinum-certified “Think A Little Less,” set for release tomorrow, Aug. 5.

“After two years of connecting solely via our screens and dreaming of being back on the road again, there's nothing like hearing fans sing these songs back to us live,” shares the Florida-native. “We’re keeping that energy going with The Warehouse Sessions.”

Along with tomorrow’s release, Ray is set to perform current chart-climbing single “Holy Water” and other fan favorites on the Fox & Friends All-American Summer Concert Series tomorrow, Aug. 5 at 8:50am ET.

Holy Water,” the second single from Higher Education written by Ashley Gorley, Hunter Phelps, Ben Johnson and Michael Hardy, offers a prime example that Ray “undoubtedly knows his way around a country song,” showcasing his ability to sing mouthfuls of detail with the smooth, unhurried delivery of a veteran storyteller, while the chorus is “a high-powered anthemic section…encased in a singalong, descending melody,” shares Billboard.

Lead single “Whiskey And Rain,” written by Josh Thompson and Jesse Frasure, marked Ray’s first multi-week chart topper and quickly garnered attention from critics, with Rolling Stone dubbing the track as “equal parts Ronnie Milsap and Gary Allan” while Billboard called it “a throwback to brooding songs from the ‘80s and ‘90s” with “solid production by Ross Copperman highlighting Ray’s vulnerable delivery.”

On Higher Education, “Ray found a refuge in the mere act of making music that tells his imperfect story, a story that so many people in this world can certainly relate to during these crazy days,” PEOPLE observed, while American Songwriter emphasized “Higher Education is shaped by the muse of the man Ray hopes to be, and the lessons he’s learned along the way… inviting his listeners into his world, pulling back the curtain on who he is off the stage.”

Ray will join Lee Brice on the Label Me Proud Tour later this month, along with headlining and festival dates through the fall. For dates, tickets and additional information go to MichaelRayMusic.com.

About Michael Ray
For Michael Ray, music is his grandfather singing and sweating on a rural Florida stage. It’s the childhood refuge he found during the pain of his parent's divorce. It’s family and stories, history and hope. Ray says music saved him, but it did even more: Music made him. In five short years, Ray has built an impressive foundation: four No. 1 songs – RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Platinum-certified “Whiskey And Rain,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” – plus “Get to You” and “Her World or Mine,” brings his tally to four Gold-certified singles. Ray has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, over 100 million YouTube views, and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry 65 times. Now, two hit albums into that all-too-rare blend of critically acclaimed and commercially successful career, Ray has released Higher Education, a seven-song collection produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer Ross Copperman. Proof that heartbroken wallowing can feel good if it swings, “Whiskey And Rain” marked his first multi-week No. 1, cementing Ray as the ideal bridge between vintage country cool and modern country’s best sounds. His latest single “Holy Water” is climbing the charts at Country radio now, and The Warehouse Sessions live EP is set for release Aug. 5.
