Manchester indie rockers Weimar present 'Soho Rain', the first single from their debut album 'Dancing On a Volcano'. A wistful torch ballad paying homage to a district of London, whose former culture has been long eroded. The song features a guest appearance on sax by rising artist Finola.

Inspired by the real-life stories of former Soho sex workers, it carries a strong message of inner resilience and the ability to overcome hardship, addiction and personal struggle. This is also an affectionate homage to the dying culture of old Soho and the many artistic and cultural movements that emerged from London's seediest square mile.

Weimar (pronounced Vy-marr) is a four-piece made up of vocalist/ guitarist / songwriter Aidan Cross (The Bacillus, Black Light Mutants), bassist John Armstrong (The Speed Of Sound), drummer Anthony ‘Eddy’ Edwards (The Deceased) and guitarist Stephen Sarsen (Frank Is Dead, Playground).

"Soho Rain explores themes of nostalgia for the bygone past amidst gentrification and cultural erosion, and heartache, loss and love within the seedy backstreets of the urban metropolis - themes recurrent throughout Weimar's album. The lyrics tell of a former Soho sex worker's visit to her old haunting ground as the neighbourhood is slowly gentrified, reflecting on the hardship she faced during her years in the sex trade, the strength she subsequently gained and how the experience shaped the person she is today," says Aidan Cross.

Comprised of 12 tracks exploring an eclectic range of styles and moods, the album will be released on June 24th via German Shepherd Records, following the 2-track single 'The Girls of LA' and New Order-esque B-side 'Transatlantic Confusion'.

Produced by Adam Crossley and Chris Guest of Vibratone Sound Studio, the cover art for this single was created by acclaimed artist and writer BrianGorman. The art-rock quartet's output embraces post-punk to no wave, cabaret, psychedelia, alternative folk and gothic rock, blended in a distinctive fusion.

Since forming in 2016 and hitting the live circuit, Louder Than War named Weimar amongst its 50 Bands To Watch for 2019, the year they debuted the single 'John Doe / Curse the Songs', followed by 'Marvel To The State / Undesirable Master'. Having worked with legendary post-punk producer Simon ‘Ding’ Archer, they've also played with Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and goth legends Skeletal Family.

'Dancing On A Volcano' takes the listener on an unpredictable excursion with songs exploring socio-political and personal challenges of our modern age, with themes ranging from gentrification and cultural erosion, unsavoury characters masquerading as respectable public figures, the grit beneath the glamour of society, the contrast between polished façades and the decadence within. Through its maelstrom of musical styles and influences, this album paints a brutal and honest picture of human nature and culture in the context of the 2020s.

On June 3rd, 'Soho Rain' will be available exclusively via Bandcamp, where the 'Dancing On A Volcano' LP (out June 24th) can be pre-ordered. It will be released everywhere, including Spotify and Apple Music via German Shepherd Record and also on CD via Marlene's Hat Records.

Liverpool's Ernest Moon return with 'Unkind', previewing sophomore LP ‘Skipping To Maloo’

Liverpool-based indie rock outfit Ernest Moon will be releasing their new album 'Skipping to Maloo' on June 15, offering us a preview of the lead single 'Unkind' in the meantime.

Ernest Moon are Steven Doran and Brian Murphy, two highly creative songsters with a gift for wise cracks and impactful one-liners, brought together by a liking for eggs on toast. They offer lush lyrics, heavy hands and a rat-arsed sincerity. Their sound has been described as pushy pop, "filling the gap between pretentious lyrical art and bog standard pop music".

This album was recorded and mixed in the past few years during lockdowns at Liverpool's Ark Recording Studios by Steve Powell (Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band) and Rory Ballantyne. Their songs are as meandering in style and sound as their musical taste, drawing on influences such as The Blockheads, Arab Strap, Talking Heads and The Specials.

"The song 'Unkind' was born out of a chord progression that came to me over time. The mood of these chords and the sway of a slow 6/8 rhythm seemed to suggest the ardent theme and lyrics," says Brian Murphy.

"The song starts with general statements we are told and subsequently live by. The later verse moves from the general to the personal and my own moods and desires. I wanted the chorus to be as simply written as possible. A innocent plea in a narcissistic age."

Since forming in 2017, Ernest Moon has released two EPs, debuting with their 'Ba-jesus' EP, recorded at Orphan Recording in Dublin with Peter Ashmore and Gavin Glass (Paul Brady, John Grant, Lisa Hannigan, Mundy), followed by the electric crack 6-track collection entailed in the 'UH' EP, released in 2019 and recorded in Barcelona by Marc Antoli.

Previous to that, Brian and Steve supplied the guitars and words for a now-defunct band called Betty Backskuttle, a band they say was infamously vain and famously unfriendly.

Unkind' may be obtained via Bandcamp, where the 'Skipping to Maloo' LP can also be pre-ordered. As of June 15, it will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music and Spotify.

On a steadfast role of dishing out a blend of electronic bliss and the cool breeze of chill, Austin native John Andrew Paris, a.k.a. Paris Music Corp. presents his latest single 'Here It Is', a deep soul-tinged fluid fantasy-inspired offering from his recently-released self-titled album.

"The pandemic was at its worst and the George Floyd protests were hitting hard. I’m a person who is at his best when things are at their worst so I got busy," explains Paris.

This single represents a new facet to the 14-track long-player, following up the lead track 'Light Speed' and subsequent single 'Almost Lost'. His first record in half a decade, this collection is a much welcome sonic diary, much welcome since his debut 'Rewind' album was released in 2017.

John Andrew Paris has spent decades creating music and collaborating with numerous artists across the Austin music scene, including Arthur Brown (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, perhaps best known for his hit single 'Fire'), as well as DJ Rev Kathy Russell, DJ Lucas Ray, Catastrophe Ballet, Le Reve, Life's Eyes, Beast of Eden, OBOYO and Don Wigwam.

Influenced by the likes of Mick Karn, Pink Floyd, Gary Numan, Tim Hecker, Casino Versus Japan and Miles Davis, John Andrew Paris has also scored 2 independent films - the historical documentary 'Andy Paris: Bubble Gum King', also released as an album, and the short horror film 'Spectral Wind'. He has also created a clever electronic rework of 'Lord of the Dance' for the Austin Christmas Collection Album.

“I wrote, recorded, and mastered this album in my home studio in Austin. While I have since relocated to Brownsville, this IS an Austin, TX record,” says John Andrew Paris.

"Most of it was conceived during the pandemic. Some pieces pre-dated the pandemic in an embryonic state, but 2020 is when I got down to the business of getting those early pieces completed and the new ones written. My inspiration for these pieces is that you never really know when you will pass on so you best be doing your greatest now."

Cinematic and ethereal, Paris Music Corp. music is ambient and spacey electronica. Often with elements of 80’s darkwave and ambient soundscapes, his trademark sound includes heavily processed guitar and bass instruments locked into layered loops and further manipulated using software. Also employing live hand percussion, these dense soundscapes take the listener on a sonic journey to otherworldly places.

STONED JESUS Premieres New Song, "Porcelain"

Ukrainian sludge rock trio STONED JESUS is now releasing a brand new song, "Porcelain!" The song and visualizer, which was created by the band, can be found below.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Igor Sydorenko comments: "'Porcelain' was one of the last songs I brought to my bandmates for the upcoming album, and they loved it instantly! In fact, we all loved this track so much we decided we'd play it live even before the album's out, so now it makes all the sense releasing it as a single. People told me it sounds like 2000s PORCUPINE TREE covering 2010s SWANS but to me it's just another amazing chapter in the STONED JESUS songbook. Hope you'll enjoy it too!"

‘Radiance’ is the first single from The Dead Daisies' upcoming new album set for release in August. The band have been writing and recording over the last couple of months in Los Angeles with esteemed producer Ben Grosse at the Mix Room studios.

A thunderous opening, sets the pace for ‘Radiance’, an eclectic, heavy rock track. The riff digs deep into a 1970's vibe originally created in the industrious heartland of England. Taboo features vocalist Christoffer Stjerne, who also fronts the band H.E.R.O., and guitarist Ken Hammer, who rock fans around the world will recognize as a founding member of the beloved hard rock institution Pretty Maids. ARONIOUS Release Lyric Video for New Single "Descent of Inanna"

New Album 'Irkalla' out August 12th via The Artisan Era

Wisconsin-based Prog-Death metal quintet ARONIOUS are back with a new full-length studio effort. The follow-up to their 2020 album 'Perspicacity', the band's sophomore LP, 'Irkalla', will see an August 12th, 2022 release via The Artisan Era. To give fans a first taste of the new record, the band has released the first single, titled "Descent of Inanna", along with a lyric video for the track that can be seen below.

'Irkalla' marks the return of founding guitarist Brandon Brown to the lineup - this time manning lead vocal duties, along with the addition of new drummer Kevin Paradis and session bassist Andrew Kim.

Speaking about their new album, 'Irkalla', the band comments:

"Irkalla in Babylonian mythology is known as the underworld, which we found to be a fitting title for the dismal, dissonant, destructive, and technical sound of the music. The lyrical themes revolve around the arc of the ancient Sumerian epic, The Descent of Inanna, which calls attention to various correlated topics, such as the Sumerian Gods, their backstories, and Inanna’s odyssey to and from the underworld. This album is also the first to feature our new vocalist Brandon Brown, our new drummer Kevin Paradis and Andrew Kim on session bass.

Mixing was done by Nick Weyers and mastering was done by Marc Birr of Carp Town Studios. The songs you will hear on this album are for the most part about 4-6 years in the making, the oldest of which being the song ‘Negeltu’ which was written in 2016. These songs were originally intended to be used for Ryan Brumlic and Nick Weyers’ side project that was also named ‘Irkalla’, but since that project didn’t quite pan out, we figured that it sounded enough like Aronious to use as our next album. This worked out in our favor because the album ‘Irkalla’ really sounds like a more refined, intense and mature follow-up to the sound on our previous album ‘Perspicacity’. There’s no sugar coating it. We are confident this album will destroy you. Enjoy!"

About ARONIOUS:

Aronious is a technical dissonant death metal band originating from the coldest depths of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rising from these depths, Aronious is comprised of Brandon Brown on vocals, Ryan Brumlic on guitar, Nick Weyers on guitar, Jason Bouwer on bass, and Kevin Paradis on drums. Brandon Brown is a founding member of the band and was actually initially our other guitarist, but had taken a break from Aronious during his move to Kentucky. After our previous vocalist (Zach Earley) recently left the band, it only made sense to bring Brandon Brown back to the fold as our vocalist after hearing his vocal work in his project Klexos. Ryan Brumlic guitarist and other founding members of the band continue to meticulously compose songs of a dissonant and technical nature along with guitarist Nick Weyers. The two have since proven to be an integral part of Aronious’ overall sound, and provide a strong foundation through their compositions together. Bassist Jason Bouwer is a fairly new band member that has shown he is more than capable of providing a sturdy backbone to the music rhythmically and sonically. His mindful ear and attention to detail when composing his bass parts truly adds a new flavor to our music that we are confident all our current and new fans will enjoy. Kevin Paradis serves as our new official drummer, whom we think fits our sound perfectly. Kevin’s tastefulness and skill behind the drum kit impressed us so much, not just in the way of speed, but in how he accents each beat and riff we throw his way. Mackenzie Carpenter Signs With G Major Management

With her honey-smoked whisper and lingering delivery, 22-year-old Mackenzie Carpenter has been taking her time establishing a foundation as a songwriter ahead of her first release on The Valory Music Co., “Can’t Nobody,” which debuted last week as a SiriusXM Highway Find. On the heels of that release, the Athens, Ga. native now signs with G Major Management for representation.

Acoustically grounded and leaning into live musicians, she worked with producer Brandon Hood to dial in her sound. “I always wanted to be a country music singer,” the young woman who co-wrote Lily Rose’s “Villain” confesses with a laugh. “There are videos of me at age six, going, ‘I’m Mackenzie and I want to be a singer.’ And that was always the dream.”

“I first discovered Mackenzie when Nicolle Galyon shared a song they had written together and it stopped me in my tracks,” notes G Major Management founder Virginia Bunetta. “The authenticity in her songwriting and the vision she has for herself as an artist is a breath of fresh air. Wistful, but accepting that some things are too good to be true, the lithe songwriter evokes Deana Carter in her prime. With “Can’t Nobody,” the first glimpse at her full-length debut in the works now, she introduces a fresh-faced take on being young, being wise and being alive. Employing a slow-strummed guitar, a quiet high hat against her tumbling alto, Carpenter paints a picture of the picture-perfect Romeo who’s ultimately more heartbreaker than happily ever after:

The American Veterans Center (AVC) re-introduced the tradition of a Memorial Day parade along Constitution Avenue in 2005, decades after it had faded away during the Second World War. Progressive metalcore project ONI, have today unleashed a brand new track, 'Heart To Stone', taken from their forthcoming studio album, 'Loathing Light.' The collection is set to land on June 17th, via Ironshore Records. 'Heart To Stone' is accompanied by a vampiric official video which you can watch below.

ONI's creative force, Jake Oni tells us,

"Heart To Stone shows a different side of me and is a song that really set me in a new direction for what ONI could be. I love being able to straddle the line of heavy and clean vocals. This is one I can't wait to sing live."

Last month, ONI revealed another album track, 'Secrets', featuring guest vocals from punk icon Iggy Pop and Lamb of Godfrontman, Randy Blythe. The track picked up numerous spins at rock radio across the globe, including the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter. With 'Loathing Light', ONI have delivered a body of work that boasts an even bigger sound than their debut. The collection arrives with conviction, passion and depth, swaying wildly back and forth between vast, uplifting anthems and dark, raw confessions. It will go down as a mission statement for the young band, created by singer/lyricist Jake Oni, together with his closest allies, producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Gojira) and Lamb Of God guitarist, Mark Morton.

The result is 10 tracks spanning an emotional gamut, from all-out brutality to introspective desperation. Songs like 'Against My Sins' and 'Heart To Stone' wouldn’t sound totally out of place in a playlist alongside Of Mice & Men or Linkin Park. Yet the bludgeoning technicality - which earned ONI fans while touring with technical heavyweights Gojira - remains, making 'Loathing Light' a diverse and definitive album.

Jake and Mark had previously collaborated on Morton's debut solo album, 'Anesthetic', with Jake executive producing and co-writing the collection's #6 Active Rock radio hit, 'Cross Off' with Morton, Wilbur and the late Chester Bennington.

Kenny Chesney Breaks Record, Duets w/ Kelsea Ballerini

When Kenny Chesney got on the highway “with a head full of dreams and a heart full of songs,” he was carrying the torch for every kid just like him. Singing about life in the flyover, capturing the small moments, the real thrills, the revelations, he forged a bond with his audience – ultimately named the No Shoes Nation – Chesney became the only country artist on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years every year for the last thirteen.

Onstage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium that love was more than apparent – with the audience singing extra choruses of “American Kids,” “Young” and “Anything But Mine.” With perfect weather, the audience helped lift Chesney to a new high in what has been a summer of pitch perfect shows; giving the audience back the innocence and beauty of a simpler world before touring stadiums became an impossible proposition.

Partway through the second verse, she broke down sobbing – and as Chesney pulled her into a hug, the audience burst into applause.

Back on the road after three years unable to play stadiums, Chesney has found a new gear as an entertainer: bringing passion and recognition of how actual people live into a much more powerful truth. “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” “Don’t Happen Twice,” “Pirate Flag” and “Beer In Mexico” offered an exuberance that rippled through the audience during the two-plus hour set.

New Album 'White Lightning' Out July 1, 2022

The Boppers have released the third single from their upcoming album 'White Lightning'. The new song, titled "Millionaire", was written by Eva Eastwood.

"Eva is a dear friend of ours and she has written top songs for us before, so I talked to her, we discussed some song ideas ahead of the new album, and soon a newly written 'Millionaire' landed in the box. We arranged it our way and here it is - The Boppers third digital single release this year!"

Alternative art-rock outfit Seal Party presents their new single 'Maison', a rich and captivating taster of their debut album 'MMXXII', which will be released this summer. An appearance by R&B organ wizard Chris Rob (Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Anita Baker, Talib Kweli) brings 'Maison' to a soulful, timeless place.

Filled with improvisation, fury, and lyrical beauty, 'MMXXII' evokes ‘70s soul, rock and R&B while maintaining a raw and exploratory approach. This eclectic work meshes unusual songwriting and musicianship with a style that is at once playful and rebellious.

As a songwriting-production duo, Chris McGrew (drums/production) and Kevin Seal (keyboards/vocals) formed Seal Party after many years of helping other artists realize their visions. On their debut record, these studio veterans let their own voices come to the fore, revealing their fury and beauty, both rock and groove. Epic melodies soar over tasty chords to tell their stories.

Surprising sounds come when sidemen step into the spotlight. Habitually session musicians, quarantine culture gave McGrew and Seal access to an empty recording studio -- namely Studio C of Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco (AKA Wally’s HydeOut), in the room of the former Wally Heider Studios, where artists ranging from the Dead Kennedys to the Grateful Dead to Herbie Hancock recorded some of their most legendary sides.

Recorded by Liam Wesley Craddock and Chris McGrew, the 'MMXXII' album was mixed by McGrew and Jaimeson Durr (Sammy Haggar, Joe Satriani, Hope Sandoval).

Seizing the moment, they invited world-class horn players, violinists, organists and vocalists, each equipped with hand sanitizer and throwing their best ideas into the mix. 'MMXXII' features an all-star cast of 22 collaborators, including blues and RnB royalty like Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer, Patti LaBelle) and Keyon Harrold (D’Angelo, Maxwell), punk icon Larry Boothroyd (Jello Biafra & the Guantanamo School of Medicine, Victims Family), bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Fantastic Negrito), Ben Misterka (Collectivity), saxophonist Kenneth Whalum (Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Maxwell, Justin Timberlake), trumpeter Rich Armstrong (Spoon, Boz Scaggs, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Thomas Dolby), guitarist Jonnie Axtell (Psychefunkapus, Dee Snider, Tone Loc) and saxophonist Daniel Casares (Atta Kid, Jazz Mafia, the New Mastersounds).

The result is 'MMXXII' - a continuous, expansive, engrossing album that is eclectic and beautiful. Decades of studio magic seep into the tracks, like the casks flavoring the Scotch. Stretching across genre boundaries, jazz luminaries and punk stalwarts join together to create a series of unique songs.

As of June 10, the 'Maison' single will be available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the full 'MMXXII' album can also be pre-ordered. On August 5, the digital version will be released via New Age Distribution and the CD released by X Racer Productions. DECAPITATED - Cancer Culture Out Now!

Today, the band is proud to release their 8th studio album, Cancer Culture.

It's the most versatile album the band has released so far, surprising fans with elements they have never used before, such as guest appearances on vocals.

Again, Jarek Szubrycht (Carnival is Forever) has written amazing lyrics about the disproportion between the dreams, ambitions, and aspirations of humanity.  The leading engineer of the album was Tomasz Zed Zalewski (Anticult), David Castillo was responsible for mixing the album, and Ted Jensen for the final touch for mastering. The amazing cover artwork comes from Fabio Timpanaro, an Italian artist whose art perfectly describes what the band wanted to tell through visual art.

Vogg states the following: "Cancer Culture is out today!!! We've been waiting for this special moment for a very long time.
It seems like ages, five years since our latest release Anticult, sixteen months of working on the Cancer Culture album, and waiting almost a year to be able to share it with you finally. 
You can expect to hear various tracks, outstanding production, fantastic artwork, and of course, as always, something you have not likely to hear on the DECAPITATED album before.
To celebrate this day, we decided to release a video for 'Iconoclast'. For this occasion, we returned to the studio where all had started, where we recorded drums for the album, to feel an incredible energy and cool vibes again while making the video.
As you probably know, we have an exceptional guest, the metal legend and friend of ours, one and only Robb Flynn. His part of the track became one of my favorite parts of this album.
It's a huge honor to have Robb in this project, and I hope you will dig a song. It's a different song, not blasting madness as most of the songs on this record but still powerful, fast, and crushing.

And to celebrate the release, they have yet another surprise in store for their fans. Robb Flynn from mighty MACHINE HEAD contributes a hauntingly beautiful vocal to the track“Iconoclast”

Flynn comments on the collaboration: "When Vogg asked me to sing on this DECAPITATED track, I was honored to jam with pioneers and insane musicians. I was blown away by this incredible melodic section in the middle when he sent the track. When he told me the song was called 'Iconoclast', I knew exactly what needed to be said.  An Iconoclast is 'a destroyer of images used in religious worship'.  This song had to address the hateful, growing fascist Evangelical movement growing around the world. The cruel men who wish to hide their cruelty under a cloak of faith and zealotry."
