Hail The Horns Announces New Tour Dates this November!

Guitar Virtuoso MARC RIZZO's (Ill Nino, ex-Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy) new project HAIL THE HORNS, featuring bassist TONY CAMPOS (Static-X, Fear Factory) and drummer CHRISTIAN "OPUS" LAWRENCE (Dead By Wednesday, Earth, Ellefson) have announced New England and Midwest tour dates for November 2021. The band will be playing songs from their past and current band's catalogues along with some metal classics.

“We’re looking at this as our own little “metal allegiance” type thing, but as a trio! Less is more sometimes!! If other things develop or happen from that, then that’s cool too… we’re not putting any expectations onto it. We just want to have some fun & rock some cool tunes together for other people’s enjoyment, and our own, that’s all!!” says Opus.

The trio recently recorded a cover of the KISS classic, "God Of Thunder", with Campos handling lead vocals. The track was recorded by Joey Concepcion and Nicky Bellmore (Dexters Lab Studio) & mixed by Matthew Nevitt (Inkei Studios).

Post-punk solo artist, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer, GVLLOW, has released brand new music video for track "Pray To God" today, the second single to be taken from his recent 'Spiritwalker EP' released earlier this year. Speaking on the song and its accompanying new video, GVLLOW shares

"This song was written to honor all of the lost souls close to me. Gvllow was created as a coping mechanism to channel my emotions dealing with the constant death around me that took so many of my close friends and family. This song was written as an ode to those who lost their lives too soon, and to let them know i still hear them and think of them every day."

The 'Spiritwalker' EP was released in Spring of this year and saw GVLLOW's stylistic expansion into post-punk and 80s goth. Heavily influenced by by the likes of Drab Majesty, Sisters Of Mercy and Bauhaus, the transition began with highly acclaimed single "Last Dance" from his previous, eponymous full-length and continued through the first single from 'Spiritwalker' - "Fell In Love With A Ghost" - which dropped in December of 2020. To date, the EP has clocked up over 1 million streams, with the two previously released music videos hitting 412,000 YouTube views.

EQUILIBRIUM - Release New Old School Song "XX"

EQUILIBRIUM is taking us on a journey back to the old school: After recently unveiling a make-over of their debut album hit "Met", the German epic metallers have decided to lead us further down the path, today presenting us with a track that’s been hidden in a bedside drawer for almost 15 years. Buried in dust and old memories, band founder and guitarist René Berthiaume resurrected these fragments of an unfinished track from their early band years and completed the song, before recording it for the very first time with the current band line-up. As a perfect anniversary gift to their fans, the track is titled 'XX' in order to celebrate the band's 20-year existence.

René Berthiaume comments:
"This October turns out to be our Old School October. After our remake of 'Met', we are happy to release a theoretically brand-new track. Just theoretically, because parts of this song are based on pretty old fragments that were created during the era after our first albums. We had a lot of fun picking up those parts and finalizing that song into the version that it is now."

After a 2 1/2 year hiatus, London-based synthpop artist Rodney Cromwell will be releasing a new single via Happy Robots Records with distribution by Cargo Records. 'Memory Box' is a song about perceptions of reality and the certainty of our memories. How do we believe anything in a world where truth and honesty are of so little worth?

Rodney Cromwell is the nom de plume of Adam Cresswell, founding member of 1990s-2000s indie-folktronica band Saloon (who had four entries in John Peel’s Festive 50, recorded three Peel Sessions and had top 10 album of the year in The Sunday Times) and one half of electronic two-piece Arthur & Martha (praised by the likes of NME, The Guardian and Artrocker).

With minimal percussion, Rodney Cromwell's lyrics float over a bed of vintage synthesizers and effected guitar. Shunning a clean '80s synth sound, the song is almost psychedelic in outlook, reminiscent of the minimal synth of acts such as Broadcast, Pram or Silver Apples. The video, an atmospheric montage of heavily effected and distorted shots of rural Britain, was inspired by film auteurs such as Stan Brakhage and Chris Marker.

Writing and recording in his home studio in Catford, South London, Cromwell employs an old-school approach using predominantly vintage hardware. Mixed and co-produced by Richard Bennett at Acme Hall Studios (New York) and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Goldfrapp, Paul Weller, Pixies, The Alarm), Martin J Langthorne, who also designed the album artwork, contributes guitar.

"It was one of the first songs written for the new album. At the time I was still disorientated from illness. I turned on the TV and there was Boris Johnson’s lackey, Dominic Cummings, spinning some yarn. In my post-fever state he came across like Wormtongue from Tolkein, talking about riverbanks, woods and castles while literally sitting in a perfumed rose garden like in Alice in Wonderland. I wouldn’t say that influenced me directly, but certainly my own state of brain-fog sent my writing off in a more heady and fantastical direction," explains Adam Cromwell.

"I wanted the song to have the feel of a marching clockwork toy, so the beat is really simple and metronomic with the synths doing the talking by enveloping the song."

This single is the title track of the forthcoming ‘Memory Box' album, A mixture of electronic hauntological excursions, dreampop and European coldwave that is scheduled for release in early 2022. Using analogue synths, drum machines with parts played almost entirely live (with minimal computer sequencing) and vocals recorded without autotune, this record conjures up an organic, albeit dream-like, world that is inspired as much by Alice in Wonderland, Franz Kafka and Anna Kavan as it is by its sonic influences such as Kraftwerk, The Cure and Stereolab. The sonic pallet of 'Memory Box' is both reassuringly familiar and completely distinctive.

Rodney Cromwell's debut LP 'Age of Anxiety' (2015) and 'Rodney's English Disco' EP (2018) have garnered Rodney Cromwell features in Electronic Sound Magazine, NME, Huffington Post, Paste, Record Collector, BBC6 Music and national RNE3 in Spain, for whom he also recorded a live session. The debut album featured in scores of Best of Lists including Electronic Sound Magazine and he was named 'Most Promising New Act' by The Electricity Club. He has appeared on compilations alongside Cavern of Anti-Matter, John Foxx, Devo, OMD, Katy Perry and other notable artists.

Rodney will be playing a handful of live dates to support the album's release. His debut festival appearance at Indietracks 2015, described as 'a spiritual experience", led to further festival appearances in the UK and in Spain, in addition to supporting artists such as Pram, Marsheaux, Death & Vanilla, Rowetta and Steve Davis. In 2020, he also performed as part of Damo Suzuki's backing band.

As of October 27, 'Memory Box' will be available digitally everywhere, including Spotify and Apple Music. In the meantime, it can be pre-ordered directly from the artist via Bandcamp. On October 28, London's Hope & Anchor will host his Single Launch Party with appearances by Mood Taeg and Still Forever.

Which side is which is not so clear-cut, whether there are any sides at all or just one will. While it’s not a fast track, it still has the fastest part on the album. The cover painting is my work, just like all the visuals related to the album, it was brought to life greatly."

Hungarian metal outfit BORNHOLM merges atmospheric black and pagan metal into a sphere of obscurity!

Apotheosis not only showcases BORNHOLM’s tonal development, but also goes back to the origins of the band’s history and the heavy, often almost doomy influences mixed with indispensable atmospherically dark and raw flavor. Accompanied by sinister sacral sounds of historic proportions and a hypnotizing, incantatory chant, intro track "I Divine" heralds the dark ride to nowhere. It is precisely in the void between pagan and black metal that the sound finds its home, with tracks like “Spiritual Warfare” and “Black Shining Cloaks” - the latter of which featuring a magnificent guitar solo by Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate/King Diamond) - including its diabolic, atmospheric intro, “The Key to the Shaft of the Abyss”, representing the mellowness and extremes of the band. Along with the almost melodic borrowings and acoustic guitar inserts in combination with the pure rawness of “To the Fallen”, the record highlights the band’s variety and sonic progression. The title track “Apotheosis” is a slow, howling homage mixing aggressive, shrieking vocals and melodiously grim anecdotes. Album closer “Enthronement” closes the metaphorical and musical bracket and provides the 52-minute piece with a venerable, instrumental conclusion.

With the world still settling after a wild 2020, the refreshing timing of Virginia born band- Ok Mayday's new single "COLORFUL"has impeccable timing.

The collaborative effort between Ok Mayday, J Warner, Clare Reynolds, and Harmony "H-Money" Samuels was written coming out of a very difficult season in the band's career and they felt like they had to speak/sing something into the universe to fully embrace it. Collectively they believe you have to manifest it. So it's their proclamation that change is coming and the best is yet to come!

"It was such an organic process that was actually wrapped up in a two day session with the melodies and lyrics and original production. The post production lasted a few months when real drums were laid down and final vocals were recorded" says Harmony.

"The video was a project we did with + Micah Lindsrom + Tyler Johnson. We came up with the initial concept when the full weight of the record hit us in the heart. The song was much bigger than the band and the video needed to reflect that. Having family members and friends involved with the entire artistic expression truly was a dream come true," says Kelly Bollmann - Guitar.

Virginia based quartet - brothers, David and Kelly Bollmann, Stephen Lee and Matthew Osborn - strike an elusive balance between arena pop, synth-sparked indie, and shoegazing guitar rock.

IVORY BLUE lived a nomadic existence until settling in Kansas City, MO and becoming part of the local musical community. After winning a nationwide talent contest in 2017 Ivory Blue started having success with some national and international radio play which continues today.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Ivory began refining their performance style, using digital looping pedals to stack harmonies and guitar parts live on stage, giving their solo shows the feel of a full band. In 2011, Ivory settled in Kansas City, MO and quickly began attracting an intense regional following for their strong vocals and incisive, deeply personal lyrics.

By 2013, IVORY BLUE was playing regularly in and around Kansas City and the first EP Ready Get Set was released. in 2015. While the EP helped spread the word and got much attention from regional radio and TV stations, a big break would come in 2017.

In February 2020 and after studying the craft of recording and self-producing, this amazing singer-songwriter with soaring vocals, passionate love for everyone struggling through life, released "Elite Dreamland." The black metal crusaders in GOAT TORMENT return with 'Forked Tongues,' their first new album/release in over 6 years. A blast furnace of primal satanic fury, delivering a savage onslaught!

GOAT TORMENT was formed in 2008 by Kwel and K.J. with the intention to create music as a weapon of mass destruction and to annihilate everything which the so-called society stands for. For a start Kwel was supposed to play bass and K.J. would handle the vocals. But they didn’t find a guitarist who fitted with the ideology on a serious level. Thus Kwel decided to handle all the guitar parts and K.J.. started to play bass. After some months of research, the band recruited drummer Perversor. Then the band released a 4-track demo tape, released in 2009 through Terrorghoul Productions from Austria. The reactions were tremendous and bigger labels contacted the band interested to release the future offerings of GOAT TORMENT.

At this point, the band shared stages all over Europe with bands such as Grave Miasma, Hell Militia, Enthroned, Black Crucifixion, Black Witchery, The Devil’s blood…to name but a few. At the beginning of 2010 GOAT TORMENT had to part ways with drummer Perversor due to musical differences. During the early days of April 2010 a new burning entity was found: S. claimed the throne behind the battery. The Death wielding Trinity of GOAT TORMENT was complete. New songs were written, gigs were played and blood was shed.

Exactly one year later, the band entered the infamous Blackout Studio in Brussels (BE) to record some tracks for two upcoming releases: A 7” split EP with The Beast which was released at the beginning of 2012 and later that year another 7” EP , called “Into The Mouth of the Serpent”. Directly after the split EP was released, Kwel an S. decided to part ways with K.J.. due to different views about their future. In that moment GT decided to go on as a duet recruiting session members for live-shows.

The band returned to Blackout Studio in the fall of 2012 to record their first full-length album ‘Dominande Tenebrae’ ,which was released in February 2013 by Amor Fati Productions from Germany. After a year of a few European shows, the band had their first live appearance on American soil (Maryland Deathfest XII). The band had plans to go on as a four piece, but that didn’t work out because of different views. A South American tour was planned for August 2014 with the Belgian maniacs of ENTHRONED, but the two bands were forced to cancel one month before due to the irresponsible promoter.

In September 2014, S. decided to leave the band, due to other personal priorities and having no time anymore for drumming. It didn’t take long for Kwel to find somebody to take over the hammers. A new era began and Torturer (Mor Dagor, Bethlehem, ex-Belphegor) joined GOAT TORMENT as a new full member, so the duo was complete again. The band returned to Blackout Multimedia Studio in the beginning of 2015 to record their second full-length album.

In the summer of 2015, ‘Sermons To Death’ was released by Amor Fati Productions. The band toured the US West Coast in October 2015, accompanied by Saroth and Vagus Nox as live members. Shortly after, Vagus Nox joined forces to write new material. At the end of 2020, the third studio album ‘Forked Tongues’ had been completed.

The new offering delivers ultraheavy darkening passages that only serve to temper the relentless blasting speed. 'Forked Tongues' is musical punishment writ large, and sounds as if forged in the crucible of hell!

Charitable Project SAVE THE NOIZE Announces New Benefit Track "Save The Noize 2" - Out November 19th!

Save The Noize is a charity project started by Rasmus Harnesk Wiklund (Hårdrock - För Fan! - Podcast, Corey Duvette, Veritas) and Jesper Lindgren (Velvet Insane) at the end of 2020. The project was started to aid the Musikerförbundets Crisis Foundation. In April 2021 the song “Save The Noize '' was released via Sound Pollution Distribution on digital/streaming platforms, along with a music video for the song. The track was written by Erik Modin (Wildness) and Martin Sweet (Crashdiet). The song was produced by Roger Bergsten (Nevo Studios) and mastered by Thomas Plec, with the music video being produced by Gustav Kronfelt, who has done music videos for Dregen and Electric Boys, to name a few. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, and notably career musicians, both in Sweden and around the world. Because of this, musicians from the U.S., Sweden, Norway, and Denmark came together under the banner of Save The Noize to raise money for charity. This movement is reminiscent of Swedish Metal Aid in 1985 or Hear 'n Aid in 1986, where musicians came together for charity. But this time, this new wave of artists are coming together to save their own jobs and help their community weather the storm.

Artists that appeared on this modern and socially relevant track (Save The Noize 1), to name a few: Tony Harnell (TNT), Jesper Binzer (D.A.D), Åge Sten Nilsen & Trond Holter (WIG WAM), Pontus Norgren (Hammerfall), and Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper). A total of 30 something musicians and artists came together for this common cause.

Now, after this massively successful project, Rasmus Harnesk Wiklund and Jesper Lindgren present 'Save The Noize 2'! The next offering from Save The Noize is a pure follow-up to the first track. It's the same track but in a totally new and different take. Fewer artists are guesting the second track but bigger names get to take part, with the focus on the international market. With this new version and the accompanying music video, the mission is to show that the light at the end of the tunnel is finally here. Musicians can slowly but surely come out and play, return to the road, and come back to their jobs. We want to give hope and show that we made it through this together! And just like the first iteration, 'Save The Noize 2' will benefit the Musikerförbundets Crisis Foundation.

Boston heavy rockers MAMMOTHOR drop a brand new single “TAKE THE WORLD” fresh off 
their latest full-length album, The Silence of Ecstasy... The Agony of Dreams, available now in CD format through retailer Bull Moose and later, on all major streaming platforms.

Mammothor spent most of last year recording and writing new material, entering The Halo Studioin Windham, ME to record with Kevin Billingslea (Lamb of God) and Chillhouse Studios in Charlestown, MA with Will Holland (Fall Out Boy). The new material has been mixed and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall), at Planet Z in Hadley, MA.

"TAKE THE WORLD" is the second single to be launched worldwide with new members Euz Azevedo (from Boston’s own Das Muerte) on drums, and Alex Muss (from Minsk-based Slaves of Insanity) on guitar alongside members Josh Johnson (guitar), Lori Gangi (bass) and Travis Lowell (vocals).

Written by Johnson and Lowell, "TAKE THE WORLD" is the fifth song in the album, and dives into the troublesome, but often addictive, world of toxic relationships. The song explores 
sociopathic behaviors that are emotionally and, not infrequently, physically damaging, 
surrounded by insecurity, self-centeredness, dominance and control. It is a topic all too familiar 
with a lot of people, and it often feels as if your “world” has been “taken” by someone, requiring 
an incredible amount of support and strength to overcome it.

Los Angeles hard rock 5-piece, LIONS AT THE GATE have dropped their second single today. Titled "Scapegoat", the track is driven by massively heavy riffs, a thunderous rhythm section, intricate guitar work and the sublime juxtaposition of Cristian Machado's furious screams and soaring clean vocals. Speaking on the new track, frontman Cristian Machado shares

"Scapegoat was a song brought in by Ahrue. Everyone liked the song immediately, including our producer Kyle Odell. The instrumental had a chilling and beautiful metallic melody. I was quickly moved by the music and began to wonder about my own life. From there we began to sculpt a message. Dysfunctional people don’t want to apologize or make amends, they want to resolve what’s broken in them by damaging others. It’s their great misconception that the scapegoat will be weak and remain powerless when it takes great strength to carry a burden you bare no guilt in.

"Kyle and I realized early on that I was going through a very challenging time in my life with no outlet other than the music, and that perhaps this was what I needed to begin healing. A lot of painful memories were dug up and dealt with whilst recording. I am grateful the guys had the patience to help me work through it, and that music is still in my life. Hopefully these songs can speak to other like minded people and offer a sense of healing.

Los Angeles, California based band LIONS AT THE GATE, featuring ex-members of Machine Head, Ill Niño, Westfield Massacre, and Silence The Messenger, proves that new horizons can always be climbed.

The band formed in late 2019, with a new lease on creativity and determination. LIONS AT THE GATE is led by acclaimed vocalist Cristian Machado who is joined by guitarists and fellow ex-Il Niño members Diego Verduzco and Ahrue Luster,bassist Stephen Brewer, and drummer Fernando Lemus.

Moving on from prior projects, the band’s musical foundation quickly began to form its own identity while expanding upon familiar territory. Having quickly attracted the ear of producer Kile Odell (Fozzy, Motionless In White, Cane Hill, Shaman’s Harvest, Through Fire) the band began recording new material in the summer of 2020. Surviving mass famine, slave labor, and essentially being used as cannon fodder in the world's largest war in history, the nation still retains their identity, even as they are gripped in civil strife. This song mourns their fallen, while hoping their innocents can remain strong, despite being locked in disarray and subjected to atrocities. Let this also be a reminder to our own compatriots that no matter the current political climate, no matter the disagreements, we will survive it, as we are one."

ABOUT SHADOW OF INTENT

SHADOW OF INTENT is an American metal band based in New England originally formed by Ben Duerr and Chris Wisemanin 2014. The band continues to release their music independently including their first album Primordial (2016), second album Reclaimer (2017) and very recently their latest work Melancholy (2019).

The band name and lyrics were originally derived from lore from the Halo franchise and since then the band’s subject matter has become more dark and personal, while maintaining an element of fantasy and wonder. The band’s music is heavily built off of various different genres of metal including death metal, black metal, symphonic metal, progressive metal, and metalcore.
