Kasim Sulton is best known for his work with Utopia, Sulton sang lead on 1980s "Set Me Free”, Utopia's only top 40 hit in the United States. As a solo artist, Sulton hit the Canadian top 40 in 1982 with "Don't Break My Heart". He has toured with Blue Öyster Cult, Meat Loaf, Hall & Oates, Cheap Trick, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, Patty Smyth, and Richie Sambora, among many other artists. Sulton was the bassist and sang background vocals on the breakout Meat Loaf album “Bat Out of Hell”, and has played and sung on albums that have sold more than 85 million copies worldwide.

His latest album Kasim 2021 is set for release on September 17th through Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group) and features stand out tracks like “Unsung”, “Fastcar”, and a unique cover of the Nick Lowe penned “(What's So Funny ‘bout) Peace Love And Understanding”. The first single “More Love” will be released on August 20th and features fellow Utopia/Todd Rundgren drummer Prairie Prince (The Tubes) and original Utopia bassist Jon Siegler. Kasim had this to say about the new album, “I'm extremely proud of this record on so many levels ... from songwriting and musicianship to a stellar production by Phil Thornalley. This album showcases the best solo work I've done to date.”

Written and recorded during late 2020 and early 2021, "Checkered Past" sees Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, and company continuing with the darker lyrical tone of the preceding studio albums, "The Devil You Know" and "The Missing Peace", while incorporating their classic rock influences into the mix. Heavier songs are mixed with bluesier, boogie inducing tracks and dark, introspective ballads, often harkening back to the first three albums the band made, but also pushing the band forward. When fans absorb the album as a whole, they'll see that the tracklisting is divided up into 'sets' or 'suites', where a sonic style is explored across multiple songs before moving on to the next, making for a remarkable listening experience.

Feeling inspired and excited like they did when they first started out, but with many years of wisdom and experience under their belts, and most importantly, a renewed and stronger creative and personal relationship, Guns and Lewis are maintaining a creative peak that started with "The Missing Peace". "Checkered Past" shows a band invigorated and ready to bash you over the head, as well as “wow” you with some epic, slower songs, and even make you dance a bit to some rock 'n roll.

Since their self-titled debut in 1988 to the widely praised comeback albums "The Missing Peace" and "The Devil You Know", L.A. GUNS, led by Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis have always delivered solid rock ‘n roll to their fans. This current incarnation of the band has been touring non-stop, with a notable break coinciding with all other touring bands, and the cohesiveness of the unit, not to mention Phil’s stunning and unique vocals and Guns’ mind-bending guitar playing, are on full display here. A must hear and listen for all fans of the band, both new and old.

L.A. Guns never looked like the pretty poster boys that so many of their peers did, but more the band that you would be terrified to bump into in an alley as they would likely be carrying switchblades and ready for a fight. But despite having many songs to back up that image, the band could also write powerful ballads (see the smash hit, “The Ballad Of Jayne” for Exhibit A of this argument) that showed there were some serious songwriting chops in the band. Those chops are on full display on the band's two most recent studio albums and the upcoming new album, "Checkered Past," arguably one of the most vital and exciting releases in the band’s catalog.

Hard rock band ARTIFAS released their new single "CUT ME OUT" via Imagen Records today! The single is from their forthcoming album titled Reflections due out November 19, 2021.

"Cut Me Out is about cutting toxic people out of your life. Sometimes the most toxic people around you are the ones that are not so easily removed. At some point you have to stand up and say enough is enough, cut me out. The artwork for this record is all about reflection. Whether it’s someone in a dark place reflecting the poor decisions made, or whether someone is reflecting the beauty of the world on front of them" says the band.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas has completed the new album, and plans to unleash it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

Staying true to the promise they made their fans, Artifas has been on hiatus since their last show in October 2019, working, learning, and preparing for the release of their new album and the beginning of a new chapter in the ArtiStory.

Forged in the fire of excommunication, Texan transplants ‘Tulip’ deliver their own brand of symphonic metal, spearheaded by ex-professional opera vocalist Ashleigh Semkiw, and Colin Parrish on guitar.

Their story is a unique one. Publicly shamed, ostracized and cast out of the church, Semkiw and Parrish formed TULIP - an acronymic nod to their former faith.

Emerging together for the first time in September 2018, the members of Tulip are established artists, having performed for a decade in their respective past acts; Ashleigh in professional opera, Brandon with ONI throughout Europe alongside the likes of Children of Bodom and Lamb Of God, Ryan sessioning across the USA and Canada, and co-lead member Colin as an accomplished recording and mix engineer.

TULIP, their self-titled debut EP was self written, recorded and mixed, and was mastered by the legendary Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, New Found Glory, Disturbed). The five song collection delivers symphonic metal with a modern groove oriented twist.

have been on a beautiful journey of sonic and visual exploration this year, releasing their stunning 'Burn' album and gradually unveiling rather diverse videos to accompanying each track. Now they present 'Keson (Until My Strength Returns)', created by David Daniels, who has done motion graphic design, art direction and projections for two Bryan Adams world tours, the Led Zeppelin o2 concert, Roger Waters The Wall - Berlin, plus films showcased all around the world.

Produced by James Chapman (MAPS) and released via Atlantic Curve, a London-based label that is part of the Schubert Music Europe, the entire album is euphoric and compelling; more inventive than what they had worked on separately in the past. From gentle beginnings, each track builds and intensifies, creating a hypnotic experience to listen to from start to finish.

Lisa Gerrard explains, "Keson implores us to live in our dreams and befriend our soul". Jules Maxwell adds, "This again is an intense, emotional listen for me. I love the final note and how it lasts".

"There is a sense of melancholy here, but also a sense of hope. Lisa's vocals have such emotional depth, and they really connected with me on this track," says James Chapman.

'Burn' took root over seven years ago, when Lisa met Irish theatre composer Jules Maxwell and they began working together for the first time. Gerrard and Maxwell later began writing songs for their earlier collaboration for 'The Mystery Of The Bulgarian Voices (Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares)'.

Keith Wallen is a dynamic guitarist and vocalist, a passionate live performer, and a diverse songwriter. As guitarist and backing vocalist, he’s brought his tireless enthusiasm to Breaking Benjamin since the multi platinum rock band’s 2014 reformation, appearing on Dark Before Dawn (2015) and Ember (2018), as well as countless worldwide tours.

As solo singer, songwriter, and performer, Keith explores everything from melancholy balladry to inventively re-imagined pop music. He draws upon a deep well of experience and inspiration. His father was a ‘60s crooner and his mother was a professional dancer. He heard big band standards arouse the house. Quite simply, music (and the arts) are part of his DNA.

Wallen first enjoyed Active and Modern Rock radio success with the Knoxville, Tennessee based Copper, which he co-founded with a friend he’d known since first grade back in West Virginia. During his four-year stint with Las Vegas rockers Adelitas Way, which included two full length albums and three co-writing credits, Wallen found himself rubbing shoulders with tour and festival mates like Guns N’ Roses and Deftones.

With Wallen part of the reconfigured lineup, Breaking Benjamin’s powerhouse comeback album Dark Before Dawn debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2015 and went gold a year later. “The Diary of Jane,” a single from 2006’s Phobia, was certified triple-platinum in September 2019.

Beginning with his 2014 debut EP, Allies, Keith has used his solo work as a vehicle to explore his multifaceted passions, moving seamlessly from the smart pop of his ‘80s favorites like Tears For Fears and The Police to the big and moody riffs of Metallica and Alice In Chains. Subsequent singles explore everything from synth-pop to dark grunge.

As guitarist for Breaking Benjamin, a solo artist, and songwriting collaborator, the common threads through all of Keith Wallen’s work is honesty, authenticity, and heartfelt spirit.

The Dead Daisies are really proud to announce the release of a new inspiring short film, “Like No Other”. Joining the band on the road for three weeks, a journalist / videographer captured shows across the US for the first time since the global pandemic stood the music industry on its head. Every night the band did what they do best: Play great ROCK! The “Like No Other” short film reflects on past memories and modern-day heroes that instill hope and happiness to people around the world. From living in an RV on the streets of Hollywood to #16 on the Billboard Charts, Red Devil Vortexis not only the sonic result of life’s chaos and frustrations, but a statement of fighting for what you believe in. Though adapting to a new world of cultural shocks and real life challenges when moving from Curitiba, Brazil to Los Angeles, CA, lead singer / bassist Gabriel Connor and drummer Iago Marcondes were relentless and just getting louder.

The band had its kickstart with the single “The Fallen” from 2016 followed by the EP Something Has To Die released in May of 2018. Produced by Augustus “Gus” Cryns (Butcher Babies, Anti-Flag), the EP hit the US Billboard charts on its first week at No #16 (Heatseekers Chart) and No #49 (Independent Albums Chart) with over 250k Spotify streams to date.

Between 2019 and 2020 the band went back in studio to record their second EP, facing the departure of original guitarist Pablo Kravicz during the process. Gabriel and Iago managed to finish the record before another loss with the untimely death of their friend and producer Augustus during the pandemic lockdowns.

All releases were postponed but Gabriel and Iago kept Red Devil Vortex alive, using the time to organically find the right guitarist to get back on track. That guy was Luis Kalil, a 21-year-old award winning guitar prodigy based in Los Angeles who is also from Brazil and has either recorded or performed with artists such as Steve Vai, Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), Kiko Loureiro & Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) among others.

With Luis onboard, his guitars were recorded in all the remaining tracks done with Augustus Crynsnot only honoring the work they’ve done together before his passing but giving a new meaning and creating a new chapter in the history of Red Devil Vortex.

Dark Secrets, Red Devil Vortex’ new record, is set to be released in the second half of 2021.

Irish rock band The Midnight Preachers release their new single titled "Summertime" to all digital outlets today. The song was produced by produced & mixed by the band’s Eoghan MacSheain in Wildwater Studios & mastered by Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal.

Following an Irish tour which culminated in a headline show with legendary guitar player Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (solo artist / ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist), The Midnight Preachers returned to the studio, releasing their critically acclaimed EP Desert Hymns in December 2020. Their much-anticipated debut album Soul Food is scheduled for release in late 2021.

Emer McLaughlin - Singer / Bassist 
Emer’s voice has been compared to Stevie Nicks, Kim Carnes and Norah Jones, and her bass playing to that of Phil Lynott. With a blues infused alto range, she sings lead, as well as backing vocals, and co-writes all of the band’s material.

Colin Kenny – Drummer 
Colin Kenny is a seasoned rock drummer who has performed with many notable Irish acts throughout the years, both in Ireland and abroad. He brings the funk.

Finnish fuzz-rock outfit Craneium have released their new single ”Shine Again”. Shifting from massive, distorted passages to blissful, psychedelic soundscapes, ”Shine Again”highlights the dynamic and experimental nature of Craneium, while presenting a new musical dimension of the band. The group explains:

”No friends but the mountains...With 'Shine Again', it really feels like we’ve taken our songwriting to the next step. This is the direction we want to take Craneium in from now on. We are quite happy with the vocal harmonies and lyrics, as it turned out to be both a love song and an ode to freedom. In the studio our producer and engineer Joona Hassinen from Studio Underjord got us to perform at a level we feel we haven’t reached before. The mellotron strings added by Axel Brink (our former bass player and forming member) really gave it that little extra kick.”

”Shine Again” is the second single leading up to Craneium’s third studio album, 'Unknown Heights'. The album will be released as both a CD and LP via The Sign Records on October 15th. 'Unknown Heights' can be pre-ordered now via the band’s Bandcamp-page.

“Hey Jude” was originally released by the Beatles on August 26th 1968, at over seven minutes in length, it was the longest single to top the British charts at that time. Now 53 years later multi instrumentalist/producer Stevie D has teamed up with Corey Glover (Living Colour) to bring you his take on this timeless classic. Stevie had this to say about it, “Simply put, “Hey Jude” is my Favorite Beatles song in fact it’s my favorite song!!! I have always wanted to do a version with Corey because in my mind I could hear what he would bring to the table! So now I have my favorite singer singing my favorite song! Following the underground success of its 2018 debut, Between The Winds, Ohio, USA based project UNTAMED LAND – the world’s very first metal band incorporating the feral sounds of classic, old western cinematics – will unbridle its sophomore release, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms, via Napalm Records on October 8, 2021.

While exploring influence and nuances from various strains of atmospheric metal, UNTAMED LAND traverses wild new frontiers – evoking the ambiance of classic Ennio Morricone/Spaghetti Western soundtracks and traditional old western instrumentals. While some listeners may be quick to label this a purely black metal album before diving into its depths, this description only scratches the surface.

"This song is probably the one most similar to the ‘epic’ atmospheric black metal approach taken by bands such as Summoning and Caladan Brood, but lots of other strains found their way in, such as doom metal, minimalism, and European/Celtic folk music. The title of the track, like the title of the album itself, is a phrase from McCarthy's novel ‘Blood Meridian’, one of the darker western stories out there, and it perfectly fits the foreboding and mounting dread the music seeks to express."

UNTAMED LAND mastermind, composer and sole performer of all instruments (except for accented violin performances by Rita Torrens and vocal contributions by Caroline Joy and Jacob Wherley), Patrick Kern, was initially inspired by what he describes as pagan, cosmic and even “doomy” black metal when writing the album, but the material bloomed in a way that is much more multifaceted to be categorized so singularly.

Patrick Kern adds about the album:

“I would hesitate to call this a black metal album. It's meant to be a cinematic journey into a dark and fantastical old west setting, and various genres and sounds are used to bring that story to life. Lyrically, whereas the previous album dealt with the eternal struggle of the solar hero, this time we delve into a sort of gnostic "Beauty and the Beast" story, ultimately revolving around the feminine role in creation and the tension between the world of matter and the world of forms.

The album ended up reflecting my own spiritual journey that occurred all throughout the writing and production process. I had a great time experimenting with many different styles and sounds for this release and am excited to share this new chapter in the UNTAMED LAND world!"

The album begins with a haunting, yet whimsical old western inspired introduction, “Once Upon A Time In The Kenoma”, before ascending into the grimly epic, piano-laden "A Nameless Shape" – blending ghostly acoustics, doom-drenched riffs and icy screams as it cascades into a wave of blast beats, rhythmic guitars and operatic accent vocals. The track closes with a backing of dominant horns before leading into the introductory organs and forsaken rhythms of the dynamic, ebbing and flowing "Clothed In Smoke" – one of the album’s most movielike offerings. 15-minute standout “The Heavenly Coil” entrances with organ, harpsichord and acoustics before intertwining with progressive blackened metal ingredients instilled with outlaw temper. Like the veil of first dawn’s light, Spanish guitar and spirited drums close the track before effortlessly crossing into triumphant album closer “Achamōth”F.

Napalm Records and in-house booking agency Napalm Events are proud to announce the signing of melodic death metal five-piece DEFACING GOD. Inspired by rich and dark Scandinavian metal traditions, their sound balances massive melodies with a twist of classical music and ballistic “in-your-face” death metal with deep inspirations from witchcraft, occultism and the obscure. The quintet is now ready to conquer the scene!

Formed by vocalist Sandie ‘The Lilith’ Gjørtz and co-founder Michael Olsson (drums) in 2015, DEFACING GOD merged a perfect constellation of members in 2017, completing their mutual vision for the project. DEFACING GOD’s concept is based on the resurrection of Lilith: Through their storytelling, music and the group’s aesthetic, they pull their listeners into a dark universe, a time travel through occult myths, folklore and ancient stories. Irish music icons David Long and Shane O'Neill present their 'Dreams Come' EP, a 3-track offering that arrives hot on the trail of their 'Far From Home' EP and video for the title track, which has garnered the duo excellent reviews and radio play in dozens of countries.

The title track features sweet, uplifting melody intertwined with bittersweet lyrics - a seeming nod to a love that could be fraying at the edges. From the beautiful opening chords, right through to the end, it will make you feel like you want more of whatever it is. Love, loss, hope, all of it.

Best known as frontmen of successful 1980’s post-punk / indie rock bands Into Paradise and Blue In Heaven, respectively, now they are together creating invigorating new music.

David Long was the face of 1980s band Into Paradise, who released two albums and several EP’s on legendary British independent label Setanta Records and also one major - Ensign. Their most successful album was their major record label debut, the Adrian Borland-produced 'Churchtown'.

Shane O’Neill fronted Blue In Heaven, who released several singles and demos (including one produced by U2's The Edge) before signing to Island Records in 1985. Their debut album 'All The Gods Men' was produced by Martin Hannett (Joy Division, Magazine, New Order, OMD, Happy Mondays). 1986 brought the 'Explicit Material' LP, produced by Island Records head Chris Blackwell and Eric Thorngren. Their popularity grew as they did the live circuit with U2, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Damned and New Order. The band later reformed in 1990 as The Blue Angels.

Hailing from the same part of Dublin, Long and O'Neill have known each other since they were 6 or 7, when they knocked over Shane’s TV set, fighting over which channel to watch. Their first band was a trio called amuse with David on bass and vocals, Shane on guitar, and Dave Clarke (Warren Zevon, now Hothouse Flowers) on drums. After splitting and doing their separate thing, around 1996 they recorded an album as Supernaut.

Recorded remotely during the lockdown, this release previews their 'Moll & Zeis' LP, which will be released in autumn.

"We wanted to make an album that could and should be listened to all the way through. It was an equal collaboration, Shane and myself have known each other so long that there was never a problem editing each other if something didn't fit with the song. We had no time restrictions, or release dates to go by, so we took our time with this album and thought about every aspect of it," says David Long.

As of August 13, the 'Dreams Come' EP will be available across online platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the 'Far From Home' EP can also be found. The full 'Moll & Zeis' album will be released everywhere digitally on September 10.

THE DEVIL'S TRADE Shares Live Video for "Három Árva"

Dark folk project THE DEVIL'S TRADE TRADE is now unleashing a brand new live version of the song "Három Árva," which is taken from the 2020 album 'The Call of the Iron Peak.' The track was recorded at the Templom venue in Budapest (HU) during the Fekete Zaj festival and features multiple guest artists.

Mastermind Dávid Makó comments on the video: "While writing I can hear most of my songs performed by a doom band with some kind of folk influence. So from the first album it has been a natural drive for me to redo these with full orchestration. When I got invited to Fekete Zaj, one of the most important underground festivals of Hungary, where I played several times before, I knew this is the right time and place to ask my old band HAW to join me and see if the imaginary soundscape could come alive."
