ABOUT MINISTRY

Born in 1981 in Chicago, Ministry has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. Ministry’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathy in 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did Ministry, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch (1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry hit an all time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. Eight more albums would follow before an indefinite break in 2013, only to be unearthed again in 2018 with AmeriKKKant, continuing to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. Today, Ministry continues touring and recording with new music on the way in 2021.

Dope Sagittarius - Define Love on Buddhabug Records out 19 March 2021

NYC-based rock-punk-funk fusion outfit Dope Sagittarius has announced that they will release their 'Sacred Places' album on 12" vinyl this spring via their own imprint Buddhabug Records.

Dope Sagittarius also presents the new video for 'Define Love', an alt pop jazz piece involving a host of achieved musicians. Filmed at Studio 111 Brooklyn, the video was produced by LaRonda Davis for Primordial Punk and directed by James Muscarella.

Dope Sagittarius is the brainchild of New Yorker Luqman Brown, whose mother is a folk-singer-turned-teacher and father a well-known playwright. The independent spirit of art in his blood got amped up early upon seeing Funkadelic at the Apollo. By high school, he had joined his third band -- punk-funk outfit FunkFace, who first opened for 24-7 Spyz and soon Fishbone, slowly rising to prominence through hundreds of shows and three studio releases.

"Define Love' is a really special song for me and the first real love song I’ve written. I had Micah Gaugh (The Veldt, Burnt Sugar, The Arkestra Chamber) playing sax, jazz luminary Marc Cary (who’s played with Dizzy Gillespie and Meshell Ndegeocello) on piano, the incomparable Corey Glover (Living Colour) on backup vocals and finally, the Master himself, Ronny Drayton (who’s played with everybody from the Persuaders and The Chambers Brothers to Defunkt, Nona Hendryx, and 24-7 Spyz) on guitar. Unfortunately Ronny passed away in 2020. He inspired me by teaching me to be a better guitar player and just because of how great and good he was. The video for this song is dedicated to him. (R.I.P.)," says Luqman Brown.

While the 'Sacred Places' album was originally set to release in 2017, Luqman suffered a stroke. Everything screeched to a halt while he learned to speak and walk again, followed by heart surgery in 2019. After two years of continual recovery, he’s back and ready to present this album, as if he's never missed a beat.

This collection of tracks presents a rich tapestry of funky grooves, thoughtful synths and rocking vocals, featuring contributions by such achieved artists as Ronny Drayton, Corey Glover, Mike Ladd, Marc Cary, Roy Radics, Mazz Swift and Micah Gaugh.

"Being able to properly put this record out into the world means that I didn’t give up in the face of death. This album was supposed to be released in 2017, but I had a stroke as a result of severe complications with my heart. In 2019, I underwent heart surgery to place an LVAD in my heart to keep it pumping. The result of these health complications left me weak and without the breath to perform," says Luqman Brown.

"At the time, I thought that myself and this album would never make it out into the world—as proud as I am of it. Nevertheless, I slowly came back and now the world will get to hear what it’s like living in NYC everyday—hard times, staying alive, and taking the time to have a good brunch along the way."

'Define Love' is out now across digital stores such as Apple Music and streaming platforms at Spotify. The 'Sacred Places' LP will be released on vinyl on May 14, and can already be pre-ordered via Bandcamp and also from Buddhabug Records.

WHILE SHE SLEEPS SHARE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE "NERVOUS"

TRACK FEATURES GUEST VOCALS FROM BIFFY CLYRO'S SIMON NEIL

FIFTH ALBUM SLEEPS SOCIETY OUT APRIL 16

PRE-ORDER HERE

The track embraces feelings that some may view as negative and the band hope its ethos acts as a medicinal tool for those going through tough times.

WHILE SHE SLEEPS have released the video for "NERVOUS," the latest single from their forthcoming fifth album SLEEPS SOCIETY. The album arrives April 16 via Spinefarm Records.

The song features Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro on guest vocals. It's a snapshot of fragility, exploring struggles with mental health, in particular drawing upon guitarist Sean Long's own experiences with anxiety. Ultimately, though, it's a song he hopes that people will draw strength from when they're struggling. Learn more here.

"The song 'NERVOUS' is one the band has been talking about ever since its first demo. It's completely infected us since the start and we all knew instantly that something really special had happened. I would go so far as to say it's the single most important song I've ever written in my life. It's born from experiencing the pain and suffering generated by acute anxiety but also finding a way out from that, which whilst in such a dark and terrifying place, felt like the biggest pipe dream imaginable.

"I felt like if I didn't write this song then someone else would have. It feels like it needed to be manifested into this world ASAP. I truly believe it's going to resonate with people on an extremely personal, deep and meaningful level because I feel like it came from a place beyond what we may call ourselves and I feel the song is much bigger than our band," says Long.

"I'd like 'NERVOUS' to be viewed as more of a spiritual request rather than just a song to enjoy. I'm talking about a particular emotion in this song but the idea is transferable to any negative or troublesome feeling. It's about accepting your emotions, fears, pains, anxiety, depression — not only accepting them but owning them and becoming one with them completely. It's about being proud of all our emotions. The song is literally telling you to BE nervous, be scared and be in pain. By this I mean a lot of our pain comes from the idea that there's me on the one hand and the pain on the other. So when the pain arrives, this 'me' is somehow trying to get away from said pain. When we really think this through with clarity, we inevitably see its a futile endeavor.

"The moment we realize this, we can stop fighting and running away and we can begin the healing process by feeling the emotions as if we wanted them to be there in the first place. Once you stop fighting and pushing the feelings away, you realize that most of, if not all of, the pain was caused by this attempt to split ourselves in two. Most of the pain was caused by the fear of the pain itself and the attempt to get away from it. It can actually be a good thing to feel these emotions fully and experience that journey of acceptance. If we just sit a little longer with the pain, fully go into the dark, feeling it with every cell of our being, there is a chance of something miraculous to occur for the individual. What do you have to lose? This is what 'NERVOUS' is about."

Simon Neil, whose guest vocals add another layer to the track, says. "I've been a big fan of what WSS do, and how they do it, for a long time. When Mat and the boys approached me to be a part of their new record it was a no-brainer and 'Nervous' is a towering statement of intent for their new era. The way WSS have chosen to promote and release this album, and the new model they are creating, excites me for the future and I am delighted to be a part of it."

SLEEPS SOCIETY is a true manifestation of While She Sleeps' extremely close relationship with their fans. Members of the band's new Sleeps Society subscription service gained access to exclusive perks and received an insight, and even input, into the recording process of the album.

Long explains how some of this process worked, sharing, "We did a collection of livestreams from the studio where members could talk to us whilst we were in the development stages of different sections, giving their input and vibes whilst different sections were coming to life. We also recorded a track completely live where members could watch the process throughout — this will be really cool as when the record is released and those fans hear the song they will have that feeling of 'I was there when this happened’ and feel intrinsically connected to the piece. On 'CALL OF THE VOID,' we had members send in recordings of them singing a section and the song features over 200 Sleeps Society Members singing together. It came out so cool and it feels so special to have involved the people who make this all possible in the music itself and actually include them in a song on the record."

Storm Seeker - gGuns Don't Cry - NoCut Entertainment out 19 March 2021

Celtic-Metal trailblazers Storm Seeker release ‘Guns Don’t Cry’ LP, new single and two viral sea shanties

“Rousing and tuneful to get your adrenaline pumping and wind you up in full swing… the band have a larger-than-life appeal” ~ Big Takeover Magazine

Heroic chants, catchy melodies and versatile instrumentation… Explicitly recommended for headbanging pirates“ ~ Sonic Seducer

“Storm Seeker are most certainly a band that has found their sound, and their look, with a quasi merchant-mix of pirate, panache, metal, and mayhem in a melting pot big enough to swallow the seas… works brilliantly, because its earnest” ~ Jammerzine

“Listen! Have fun! Dance! Drink!“ ~ Silence Magazin

Nautical folk metallers Storm Seeker present their new album 'Guns Don’t Cry' via NoCut Entertainment, in addition to unveiling several videos in a row. The latest is 'Shoot This Ship Down', following the unveiling of both a lyrics video and official video featuring Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen for their latest single 'Deathwatch Beetle Party'.

The Düsseldorf pirates have also released the sea shanty 'Wellerman'on Spotify and Apple Music after a real boom via TikTok, where the song has inspired millions. Apparently this 19th-century sailor's song speaks to many in pandemic times. Storm Seeker's 'Sea Shanty Folk Version' was even briefly featured on NBC news regarding the revival of sea shanties. As a result, they've also just shared a new 'Randy Dandy Oh Sea Shanty Session'.

Music adventurers can expect the full explosion of nautical chants with a vintage sailor look and a new approach to their trademark folk metal sound. With their nautical theme, they serve up a rough and crushing soundscape that is entangled with the sweetness of jumpy folk melodies involving the hurdy gurdy, nyckelharpa, cello and recorder.

"Guns Don't Cry' is our third studio album, where every song is carefully selected and crafted with a passion for detail that lies in the small melodies and instrumental parts. Between the music and these lyrics, we take you on a joyful adventure through the winds and waves of the seven seas," says Stom Seeker frontman Timothy Abor.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by co-producer Marius 'Olaf‘ Bornfleth, this album includes 11 stellar tracks that will take you on a voyage to abandoned shores through winds and storms. Epic battles and mysterious creatures await you, featuring terrific Nyckelharpa and Hurdy Gurdy Solos, fiddley Accordion parts, crushing guitars and thunderous drums.

This time around, frontman Timothy Abor’s rough sailor voice finds accompaniment by some surprising guest vocals as Seeb of Orden Ogan, Mr. Hurley (Mr. Hurley und die Pulveraffen) and Teufel (Tanzwut) lend their epic voices to tell some nautical tales bound to give you crawly goosebumps and crazy neck pain!

Storm Seeker's 2016 debut 'Pirate Scum' EP was followed by steady European gigs amd major festivals. The debut album 'Beneath in the Cold' LP (May 2019), amped things up, bringing them a roaring year, touring with Haggefugg and Vogelfrey and their spring 2020 signing with NoCut Entertainment. Then, despite closed ports all over the world, they faced the storm together, playing shows with MONO INC. all over Germany.

The journey of the small Storm Seeker ship, with its five-member crew, has led them from small harbours, with their unique mix of classic metal ensemble and melodic traditional instruments, to chart completely unknown waters in Germany and Europe.

On March 19, 'Guns Don't Cry' releases in North America on physical media and is already available digitally worldwide and physically in Europe. There is a vinyl edition plus a 6-sided Digipak available, in addition to a limited fan-box containing the album, a high quality embroidered handkerchief, a lovely band-poster and signed autograph card, which can be ordered directly from No Cut Entertainment.

UK Thrash Metal Heavyweights EVILE Unleash Raging New Song,

Featuring American Actor, Comedian & Musician Brian Posehn!

New Album, Hell Unleashed, out April 30, 2021 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order HERE

Watch the New Music Video for “Gore”

EVILE are back – straight from the abyss!

April 30, 2021 will see British thrash titans EVILE release their brand new studio album, entitled Hell Unleashed, via Napalm Records – the band’s first album in eight long years! Since their formation in 2004, EVILE have been turning heads and taking names, delivering four pure thrash offerings blended with an uncompromising death metal assault. Hell Unleashed, the long-awaited successor to their 2013 release Skull, will make no exception – but this time, the album features a new exciting line-up formation of Ol Drake on vocals/guitars and new member Adam Smith of RipTide as rhythm guitarist.

Following the recent release of the blistering album title track from Hell Unleashed, today, the band has released their second single – the sharp and hard-hitting new track “Gore”! With these raging riffs full of anger, EVILE reach another dimension of pure evil, featuring the impressive backing vocals of American actor, comedian and musician Brian Posehn! Watch the new video clip for “Gore” in a worldwide premiere.

EVILE vocalist/guitarist Ol Drake comments:

"Here it is! The second new EVILE single from the upcoming album Hell Unleashed. This is a song about a topic that no other metal band has ever covered before; a serial killer. This song harkens back more to the first EVILE album; it could easily be a track from our beginnings. It's heavy, it's fast, it has some great changes, and it will punch you in the face sonically. The overall message of this song/video is that these horrible individuals are hidden in plain sight. They could be our friends, family, or colleagues.

We're also excited to welcome back the extremely hilarious and extremely metal comedian Brian Posehn. He was kind enough to provide us with some backing vocals in the chorus. Luckily, we only needed the one-word shouting, so we got a great collection of Posehn ‘Gore’s to sift through. Thank you, Brian!

Turn it up LOUD, and enjoy ‘GORE’!"

One can be sure, Hell Unleashed is a raucous and masterful thrash metal attack! In just 41 minutes, the album unchains the unbridled forces of hell, catches some rousing demons of the past, and provides classical thrash metal with a contemporary yet hard-edged touch. The newly staffed four-piece strikes again on nine explosive tracks, leaving nothing but a hammering world of sound taken apart by thrash. Endangering guitar lines, which quickly build up to a furious thrash manifesto and attack the eardrum at breakneck speed, meet the merciless velocity EVILE are known and loved for.

Hell Unleashed was produced by Chris Clancy at Backstage Studios, UK, and will not only feature explosive guest backing vocals from Brian Posehn, but also include a cover song:

Ol Drake adds:

"This is the first album EVILE have done to include a cover song in the tracklisting. I've been a big fan of death metal for a long time, and seeing as this album is on the more extreme side of thrash vocally and musically, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to cover Mortician's 'Zombie Apocalypse'. It has one of the greatest riffs in it!

We're also very excited about the return of the legendary Michael Whelan (Sepultura, Obituary, Stephen King) as cover artist. He did the art for our second album and he's always a pleasure to work with."

Pre-Order Hell Unleashed NOW:

In North America, Hell Unleashed will be available in LP format in black vinyl, as well as in limited edition red vinyl (limited to 200), CD Jewel Case and digital formats.

Limited Diehard Edition: LP Splatter Red/White + Artprint, Patch - limited to 100

In just 41 minutes, Hell Unleashed unchains the unbridled forces of hell, catches some rousing demons of the past and provides classical thrash metal with a contemporary yet hard-edged touch. EVILE are back – straight from the abyss!

FUATH To Host Two Hour Radio Special via Gimme Metal

FUATH, the atmospheric black metal offshoot of SAOR’s Andy Marshall, will be releasing its upcoming full-length 'II,' on March 19 via Season of Mist Underground Activists. To celebrate the release, Marshall will be hosting a two-hour radio special via Gimme Metal in which he will be spinning some black metal classics and joining the chat! Sign up for free and tune in HERE.

Image 3-18-21 at 4.51 PM.JPG

Pre-orders for 'II' are available now HERE.

Translated as “hatred” in Gaelic, FUATH is the atmospheric black metal offshoot of SAOR’s Andy Marshall. Taking inspiration from arguably black metal’s most fertile and explosive period — the early to mid-1990s — the music channels the unrelenting tenor and iciness of forebears BURZUM, DARKTHRONE and MAYHEM.

Originally slated as a one-off project after the release of 2016’s I, Marshall has decided to turn FUATH into a serious project. Early 2021 will see the release of the band’s second album, II, via Season of Mist’s Underground Activists sub-label.

Marshall’s Scottish roots seemingly belie a Scandinavian black metal influence. While SAOR leans heavily on Scottish themes and melodies that he has classified as “Caledonian” metal, FUATH is a through-and-through purveyor of the black arts, firmly heralding a time when there was mystery and intrigue within extreme metal. BURZUM and DARKTHRONE were Marshall’s initial black metal discoveries and DRUDKH and WINDIR provided balance due to their unyielding ability to convey atmosphere. It adds up to an array of influences dedicated solely to recapturing black metal’s storied spirit and atmosphere.

The rugged landscapes, harsh climates and foreboding darkness make winter the perfect backdrop to ’90s black metal. There is perhaps no climate greater celebrated within a subgenre of metal — winter and black metal are permanently entwined. Therefore, it is no surprise that it is the favored season of many battle-tested black metaller — including Marshall, who has always been attracted to darkness in nature as well as pagan mysticism. He cites his ritual of walking through the forest in the frost and snow as “spiritual,” and the primary source of inspiration for FUATH’s new studio album.

Written during the winter of 2019 and then recorded in August and September 2020 at Fortriu Studios in Scotland, ‘II’ features Marshall handling vocals and all instrumentation except for drums, which were performed by Carlos Vivas in Spain. Whereas ‘I’ dutifully remained within the boundaries of conventional black metal, ‘II’ finds the songs going further into the frozen plains with elaborate doses of melody, ominous riffing and hypnotic blast-beat sections. ‘II’ marks a huge progression for Fuath from ‘I’. When writing the debut album, Marshall was treading FUATH as a side-project and didn’t have a formalized idea of how he wanted it to sound. In contrast, ‘II’ is an improvement across the board with better-crafted songs, sharper black metal vocals from Marshall and enhanced production values.

In contrast to SAOR’s lyrics about Scottish heritage and history, Marshall has decided to keep FUATH’s lyrics behind a veil of secrecy and will not be released along with the album. It’s another throwback to black metal of the 1990s when its core constituents were dark and evasive in both presentation and their lyrics. However, song titles such as “The Pyre,” “Into the Forest of Shadows” and “Endless Winter” do, at least, give a glimpse into Marshall’s headspace — they leave plenty to the imagination, especially in the context of the cold and wintry landscape depicted on the album’s cover art.

After the release of ‘I’ in 2016, Marshall often stated in interviews that FUATH would be a “one-off” project with no chance for future recordings. But, the never-ending desire to travel into the dark the wilderness of black metal’s most chaotic — and beloved — period was too much to resist. FUATH is now a serious band and has shed its side-project status, ensuring that Marshall will be venturing back into the heart of winter for future releases.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Share Live Session Video for "Come In"

'Live In The Studio' - Out April 16th via Long Branch Records

London, UK rock outfit BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE have shared a new live session video for their song "Come In". The track is the second video single taken from their upcoming 'Live In The Studio' EP, which is out April 16th, 2021 via Long Branch Records. The live EP includes one song from each of their critically acclaimed full-length albums. These ferocious performances showcase the band's huge sound and machine-like tightness as the three-piece thrive in their natural environment - the recording and rehearsal space that gave birth to so many of their monstrous riffs. "Come In" is available now on YouTube.

Pre-Order / Pre-Save 'Live In The Studio' here:

Black Orchid Empire guitarist and singer Paul Visser about the new EP:

"Playing live in front of an audience is always an incredible experience, but much of our music was created in a more personal and isolated place. Filming three of our favorite songs in the room in which so many of them were written, thrashed out, and recorded was an amazing experience which we can't wait to share!"

PRE-ORDER/SAVE 'Live In The Studio' HERE

Black Orchid Empire create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.

A ferociously tight live band, Black Orchid Empire have toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK, supporting Skunk Anansie on their sold-out 25th anniversary shows, including Brixton Academy. These appearances, as well as previous tours with HED P.E., INME, Black Map, and Ravenface, along with festival performances at Download, Standon Calling, Planet Rockstock, Camden Rocks, and Taubertal, have sealed the band's reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

“Beautiful melodies coupled with tear-your-face-off riffs. Bright fresh new stars” - Skin, Skunk Anansie

“Unbeatable in-your-face talent” - MOSH

“Wicked, behemoth tunes” - POWERPLAY

SMALL TOWN TITANS Release Official Music Video for "9 to 5"!

New Album, The Ride, Out NOW Via AntiFragile Music!

Heavy Rock Band SMALL TOWN TITANS have released the official music video for their single, "9 to 5." Filmed by Nesmith Films and directed by the band's own Ben Guiles, "9 to 5" is off of the recently released The Ride LP, available NOW via AntiFragile Music.

"'9 to 5' is the ultimate salute to the hard worker and how they deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labors once in a while. We all deserve to take a load off, and that's what this song is all about." - Phil Freeman

"Small Town Titans demonstrate that they are no mere one-dimensional bunch of heavies on the affecting power-mellow mid-tempo '9 To 5.' The song is a genuinely touching number that’ll pull at the soul of everyone who works for a living and needs a little relief from the grind. The group has the collective gift of being able to make each word and note matter in a way that’s deeply personal and vulnerable." - Rock & Blues Muse

Praise for The Ride:

"One-hundred percent killer with absolutely zero filler, The Ride is an incredible display of modern rock that builds on the active rock style of the past two decades and infuses it with a much needed rejuvenating shot that returns a raw sense of danger and primal excitement to the genre." - SPILL MAGAZINE

"Overall, The Ride is a well-constructed album which caters for more than just the average rock fan. The culmination of songs over time isn’t usually the way bands compile an album, but in this case, it has worked to great effect. They’ve been patient, streamlining their best material for this release. All I can hope is that they achieve similar online success to what they received a few years back, so that they have something to build on once they can return to playing live." - MMH Radio

"With a soft and soothing voice, Guiles’ guitar work matches the delicate melody of Freeman’s vocals on the final and title track ‘The Ride.’ A tempo change midway through breathes new life into the song, a soundtrack you could kickass to. Stabs of machine-gunning double kick drums hint at more skilful capabilities, before switching back to a slower end to the record and ending with the profound lyric, “ticking clock upon the shelf, and tallies on the wall.” Small Town Titans have their hands in numerous cookie jars, yet the cookies they pull out are made with their own unique recipes borrowed and mixed from others’, keeping The Ride fresh and ballsy. " - *NOIZZE*

The Small Town Titans are an American rock n' roll power trio from York, Pennsylvania, who love to constantly create, as well as play live. Gone is the notion that a rock band should only release 10 songs at a time every 2 years. In a world where music fans crave new content constantly, the Small Town Titans aim to deliver their brand of art all of the time, drawing inspiration from rock legends such as the Foo FightersAudioslave, and Deep Purple. Thanks to their efforts at taking matters into their own hands, STT can create and release songs, podcasts, live online concerts, and more with no rules. In a social media driven world, STT knows releasing quality, constant content for their fans is as important as playing great live shows.

The band was formed on May 4, 2011 at Lebanon Valley College, where Phil, Ben, and Jonny all met, and had finally decided to jam together towards the end of Phil’s senior year . Phil and Jonny had been close friends for years prior to the band’s first jam session, with Ben and Jonny also having known each other and staying in touch throughout school since freshman year. After playing together, it didn’t take long for the group to decide to start playing shows live locally. The name “Small Town Titans” had been in Phil’s back pocket for years, and he had finally found the band that fit the name. It didn’t take long for the group to grow a very loyal local fanbase, as they continued to hone their live performance chops, playing clubs on weekends and mixing their original material with covers of classic and modern rock songs. Soon after, the band began to take their career more seriously. They decided to hit the road full time, and began to release more material, and plenty of music videos.

In November of 2018, the band’s cover of the Christmas song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” went viral in a matter of days, leading to charting on various Billboard charts including Holiday Digital Song SalesRock Digital Song SalesEmerging Artists, and reaching #5 on the Next Big Sound chart. The song also reached #2 on the iTunes Rock charts, only being surpassed by Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. STT quickly found themselves achieving success, all on their own terms. That success continues into this decade with songs such as “The Man”, “Universal Limits” and “Rufflin’ Feathers” all landing on playlists such as Spotify’s Hard RockNew Metal Tracks, and Hot Road TripApple Music’s New in Rock, and YouTube Music’s Maximum Decibels.

As a newly signed act to AntiFragile Music, the band is releasing their first album with a record label, The Ride,. Under the tutelage of label owner and music industry veteran Tom Sarig (Nine Inch NailsBlink-182Sammy Hagar), the new album shows STT pushing into more musical directions than ever before, from the Queen inspired “Behind The Moon”, to the angsty and aggressive “When It All Comes Down”. “Rufflin’ Feathers” delivers a tongue-in-cheek message about today’s social media circus, while “9 To 5”, the album’s ballad, has more country crossover appeal than anything else in their catalog. “Sex and Candy”, a Marcy Playground cover, brings the blues, while “The Ride” title track showcases plenty of musicality, and an evolution to the band’s sound. There are plenty of big, loud hooks throughout, all the while without losing the edge of a rock n’ roll band who sounds just as good live as they do on their recordings.

With the help of AntiFragile Music, Small Town Titans have managed to find continued success by simply never forgetting one thing, their fans, both new and old. After asking their fans to vote on their fanbase name, they decided on calling themselves the Titan Army. As the Titan Army grows, so does the band right along with them. With a love for playing live, a Small Town Titans show has evolved into more than a concert. It’s an event, with plenty of stage banter in between songs, and no two shows ever being the same. The band simply hits the stage to deliver an energy driven show using guitars, drums, and their voices. Nothing more, nothing less. This approach to their live performances has led to them sharing the stage with acts such as Highly Suspect, Papa Roach, Black Stone Cherry, Pop Evil, and more. SIRENIA Releases New Official Lyric Video for “This Curse Of Mine”

Latest Album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, Out NOW

Symphonic metal foursome SIRENIA recently released its exquisite tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, via Napalm Records. The 11-track offering draws the listener deep into a versatile symphonic metal vortex through combining heavy soundscapes with modern influences and showcases the multifaceted nature of the unit around mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Morten Veland.

This is proven evident once more on their fourth single “This Curse Of Mine”. The song sets off with a fresh yet harsh riff attack and consecutive electronics, leading into a confident and strong vocal presentation of operatic vocalist Emmanuelle Zoldan, whilst unfolding all its magic in a memorable, grooving chorus.

Morten Veland on “This Curse Of Mine”:

“We are pleased to bring you a lyric video for the song 'This Curse Of Mine' taken from our brand new album Riddles, Ruins & Revelations. As touring is not an option these days we might as well be bringing you videos instead of shows. That being said, we really can't wait to see you all on tour again though. In the meantime, please enjoy 'This Curse Of Mine'. We hope you like it.”

Morten Veland on the album:

"Riddles, Ruins & Revelations is SIRENIA's tenth studio album. The album is very diverse, as a SIRENIA album should be. There's a lot of material that shows the band from a new side, and there is lots of material that is to be expected from the band musically. All in all, the album will take listeners through a journey that will cover both familiar and unexplored musical landscapes. We hope that you will enjoy the journey.”

Order the New Album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, NOW

A modern ride straight into the heart of symphonic metal!

Symphonic metal institution SIRENIA are renewed in darkness on their tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations. The quartet is certainly not afraid of combining a heavy symphonic sound with modern influences, which their latest record, Arcane Astral Aeons(2018) is proof of. This time, SIRENIA offer an exciting new twist to their songs, spicing them with electronic vibes, but never losing sight of their musical core.

SIRENIA remains as true to their album title word-play as they do to their dedication to symphonic soundscapes, drawing the listener into a pounding narrative about the darkest aspects of life. All eleven songs accumulate step by step to an integral sound artwork, where the versatile mezzo soprano voice of singer Emmanuelle Zoldan always shines in high-profile. In addition, there are many enchanting, instrumental surprises lurking on the way that absolutely need to be discovered! With the opening "Addiction No. 1" the formation mainly based in Norway delivers an immense and catchy tune that will have fans of bands like Beyond The Black and Amaranthe falling in love immediately. "We Come To Ruins" offers a contrast of harshness and skillfully portrays how SIRENIA combine the past and the present. On "Downwards Spiral", Emmanuelle is supported by the remarkable voice of longtime friend Joakim Næss on clean vocals, who has joined the band on previous releases. SIRENIA’s tenth full-length ends with a cover of Desireless` 1986 hit “Voyage Voyage”, where the unit again impressively combines symphonic sounds with electronic atmosphere, which doesn’t count only for this final epos, but for Riddles, Ruins & Revelations as a whole.

SIRENIA is:

Morten Veland - guitars, bass, vocals, keyboards, programming

Nils Courbaron - lead guitar

Emmanuelle Zoldan - vocals

WINDIR Releases Full Discography on Vinyl + Cassette

After the overwhelming response to WINDIR's 'The Sognametal Legacy' box set, which sold out in 24 hours, the entire discography of the Norwegian black metal veterans is now available for pre-order on black and various colored vinyls as well as cassette formats!

Pre-orders have started immediately and are available in the Season of Mist shop HERE. The release date is set for May 28, 2021.

Image 3-18-21 at 4.24 PM.JPG

WINDIR was founded by Terje “Valfar” Bakken in 1994 and released four albums in the period of 1997 – 2003. The Norwegian band gained a massive following with their unique blend of black and heavy metal with elements of old Norwegian folk music. The identity of the group was strongly connected to their home region Sogn, which was demonstrated in the lyrics and in the concepts of the records. Eventually, they invented and adopted the term ‘Sognametal’ for their style.

The band ended abruptly when Terje “Valfar” Bakken died in 2004. The remaining musicians decided to disband WINDIR and formed VREID to march forward, bearing the torch of the Sognametal legacy.

Jarle Hváll Kvåle, bass guitarist and songwriter of VREID and WINDIR, comments on the release: “I am so happy that we are finally able to do this. There has been such a huge demand to release these albums on vinyl and I really have been looking forward to this day. These records are important cornerstones in our lives and represent a time that was very special to us. It is great to have a strong partner on board, and I am very proud that we can do this together with Season of Mist.

Next year marks the 20th anniversary of '1184', and we think this is a great occasion to celebrate this unique album, the most important one in the
WINDIR history. With this record, WINDIR became a full band for the first time and it was the first time that me and Terje wrote an album together. It was a time filled with youthful will, aggression, pride, curiosity and of course beautiful naivety.

So, to celebrate this record and the period it represents, we’ll have the entire
WINDIR legacy available on vinyl. I can’t wait to get my hands on the physical copies and see no better way to celebrate the legacy and brotherhood of our fallen comrade Terje.”

For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic screw-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool’s errand to conquer planet Earth. Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all human history. For more information, visit GWAR.net.

GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT Releases New Official Video “In Flux”

New Album, Ghost Tapes #10, out Now Order HERE!

Ghost Tapes #10 is all about movement and intensity

Reigning as one of the most well-known and highly critically acclaimed experimental instrumental groups out there with a respected musical legacy spanning nearly 20 years, Irish four-piece GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT just reached a career benchmark with the release of their critical acclaimed 10th studio album, Ghost Tapes #10, a little over a month ago.

Now, the band has released the fourth official video for “In Flux”, taken from Ghost Tapes #10. The six-minute piece of art contains a sample taken from the US Propaganda campaign “Operation Wandering Soul”, in which US forces used eerie sounds and altered voices, with the intention of pretending to be killed Viet Cong, to instill a sense of turmoil and fear. It features one of the album’s most challenging time signatures, needing time to unfold before it sticks in the listener’s head. The song comes together with a stunning and artsy black and white video that perfectly underlines the overall vibe of “In Flux”.

Ghost Tapes #10 is certainly the most ferocious GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT full-length to date – it still retains all the rich musical and emotive elements the band is known for by wheeling around luminance, but offers harsh and deep reminiscences as well. Works of art like “Burial”, “In Flux” and “Barren Trees”, with additional guitars by Jimmy Scanlan, amongst others, are proof of these creations of sound. The album’s closer, the atmospheric “Luminous Waves”, captivates in a trance-like mindset – putting one deeply in touch with their inner self, drifting away to stirring tunes of guest cello virtuoso Jo Quail.

The artwork was illustrated by David Rooney, who has worked with the band in the past, and plays into the sense of the foreboding and uncertain times we live in. Ghost Tapes #10 is available as a four-page digipack as well as in multiple limited LP options.

Ghost Tapes #10 is available in the following formats:

- LP Gatefold Vinyl BLACK

- Four-page CD Digipak

- Digital Album

GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT is:

Torsten Kinsella - Guitar, Piano/Synths

Niels Kinsella - Bass

Lloyd Hanney - Drums

Jamie Dean - Guitar, Piano

Nick Hudson (The Academy of Sun) presents 'Come Back When There's Nothing Left'

“Nick Hudson is a unique talent. His song writing and performances are breathtaking. He is long overdue being heard by a wider audience. This solo album is a peak in an already stellar career” ~ Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai)

“Scott Walker channeling Coil” ~ MOJO Magazine

"Surreal and spacey... Eerie and wonderful, with great depth" ~ The Spill Magazine

"The intimacy of a musical diary as well as an epic theatrical fascination... thrilling tension between its thematic juxtapositions and arrangements of diverse acoustic, electric, and synthetic instrumentation" ~ No Ripcord

“Genius” - BBC Radio (BBC Introducing)

"A song-suite of liberation, violence and ambition that is rich in promise and dizzying in its potential" ~ The Quietus

"A welcome earworm for any music aficionado and especially those with a taste for highly melodic and cutting-edge pop experimentalism" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Brighton-based singer-songwriter Nick Hudson presents his 'Come Back When There's Nothing Left' EP, a 3-track offering that entails a double A-side with a unique take on Oingo Boingo's 'Not My Slave' as the B-side. The stunning video for the title track, which features vocals by Toby Driver (Kayo Dot), was directed by acclaimed Scottish novelist Ewan Morrison.

"Come Back When There’s Nothing Left is a song about taking responsibility for one’s spiritual and moral decisions, and reducing to ascribe them to extant agents or systems. We have more resources and capacity for endurance than we may realize. And to regard ourselves as something separate or distinct from nature itself is a dangerous supposition, and one we’d be healthier and happier not making," says Nick Hudson.

"My friend and frequent tour mate/collaborator Toby Driver introduced me to Clive Barker’s film 'Lord Of Illusions' whilst we both were on a Barker binge in Lockdown One. The song is in some ways inspired by that film, and by Barker’s work in general. I felt it right to ask Toby to sing the lead vocal on this. I find Toby’s performance very moving. I made a MIDI instrument out of my voice so in a sense it’s a duet, albeit a digitally-chopped and fragmented one."

The cover art comprises a photograph taken under a Svalbard glacier by Kristjan Svavarsson, a photo from a shoot with Wolfgang Dubieniec, and layout by Ash Babb.

Hudson recently released the single 'Surkov's Dream', a stark and melodic synth-based delight, featuring a MIDI instrument constructed from samples made of bass pedals from the vast church organ of St. Mary's Brighton as it narrates an oneiric monologue from the imagined subconscious of Putin's Grey Cardinal.

Hudson earlier previewed a live rendition of 'There is No Such Thing as You', yet another taster of his solo album 'Font Of Human Fractures', his first in five years. Recorded and mastered at Church Road Studiosby Paul Pascoe (Barry Adamson, Beat Hotel), this 10-track offering is Hudson's first solo studio LP since 'Ganymede In A State Of War' (2016).

Nick Hudson is a prolific figure on the UK underground music scene and is perhaps best known as frontman of art-rock band The Academy Of Sun, who released their dystopian epic 'The Quiet Earth' last year to critical acclaim. Apart from music, Nick's vast output also encompasses painting, film, and he has just completed his first novel.

Hudson has also collaborated with Wayne Hussey (The Mission) and Matthew Seligman (Bowie, Tori Amos, Morrissey), as well as members of NYC's Kayo Dot, David Tibet (Current 93), Asva and Canadian queercore icon GB Jones. As The Academy Of Sun, he has also collaborated with Massive Attack's Shara Nelson. Having toured 3 continents, highlights include appearances with Mogwai, Toby Driver and Keith Abrams of Kayo Dot, and Timba Harris (Mr Bungle, Amanda Palmer).

As of March 17, Hudson's 'Come Back When There's Nothing Left' EP will be available everywhere online, including and Spotify. The 'Font of Human Fractures' album will be released on vinyl and digitally on April 30. Both of these releases are available directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

THE LION'S DAUGHTER Shares Disturbing Music Video for New Song, "Curtains"

St. Louis synth metal trio THE LION'S DAUGHTER is now sharing the nightmarish and intense music video for their new single, "Curtains," which is taken from the band's upcoming opus, 'Skin Show.' The clip, which was directed by Guilherme Henrqiues, is a disturbing look at obsession turned deadly.

The band comments: '"Curtains' is about the way that obsession and paranoia can lead to destruction. And how sometimes when you try to kill that thing that waits in the dark, you actually only hurt yourself."

Director Guilherme Henriques adds, "As a director, you truly live for these type of clips where everybody around you is as invested technically and emotionally on the project as you are from the very beginning. The Lion's Daughter is one of the most cinematic and disturbing bands I ever worked with and ideas flow so well and so organically. This clip brings you a devastating episode where control and despair collide, where sadness takes you away on a journey through the depths of a broken spirit."

Moreover, THE LION'S DAUGHTER will be celebrating the April 9 release of their upcoming full-length, 'Skin Show,' with brand new live stream! The stream is part of a four night event by Sinkhole and will air on Sunday, April 11 @ 8:00 P.M. EST. The band will also be joined by HELL NIGHT for a double feature! Tickets and merch bundles are available at THIS LOCATION.

'Skin Show' could serve as the soundtrack to Times Square in the 1970s - the epicenter of sin and salacious misdeeds; a haven for sex, drugs, and crime beneath the inviting glow of neon signs from sleazy adult video stores; a place one would not dare walk alone after midnight unless tempted by devil himself. Its deviant, raw, nasty, disturbing, and yet, the most lively, evolved, and polished version of the trio yet.

'Skin Show' is available now for pre-orders HERE.

Skin Show could serve as the soundtrack to Times Square in the 1970s - the epicenter of sin and salacious misdeeds; a haven for sex, drugs, and crime beneath the inviting glow of neon signs from sleazy adult video stores; a place one would not dare walk alone after midnight unless tempted by devil himself. Its deviant, raw, nasty, disturbing, and yet, the most lively, evolved, and polished version of the trio yet.

For the first part of its career, The Lion’s Daughter was deeply rooted in blackened sludge metal. However, when it came time for album number three, the St. Louis trio abandoned all tradition and traversed into new territory through bold experimentations with Future Cult, a synth-laden metal record that could easily serve as the score to a Dario Argento film. Now, the band picks up where it left off, once again delivering an opus that cannot be labeled or defined. “The synths were always something that I heard in my head, but just couldn't figure out the logistics,” explains frontman Rick Giordano regarding the distinct directional change. “I also had to completely stop giving a fuck about how anyone might react to them. Most of the synths on Future Cult are very aggressive and rooted in horror, which I think was a safe way to use them. For this record, I wanted to stop playing it safe. I wanted to use more natural synth sounds and let things take on soft and somber tones at times, rather than just screaming alongside the guitars at all times. There was a lot of experimenting to see what other roles the synths could play in the music and what shapes they could create. I think we spent our early years as a band just trying to figure out who we were, and on Future Cult, the answer became clear to us. Instead of changing that formula, we chose to expand on it and see where else it could lead.”

While Skin Show is rife with the trepidation of eerie synths and a cinematic atmosphere much like its former, it is not a replica, nor does it follow the same formulaic approach. Future Cult delivered darkness in excess – heavy, unnerving, and unmistakably inspired by vintage horror and sci-fi movie scores. In contrast, Skin Show is its brighter counterpart, capturing an essence that, on the surface, might seem tamer and more palatable in comparison. However, the album still dwells deep in deviance. Each passage, no matter how glossy, is offset with belligerent vocals and lyrics that detail sexual violence, shame, abuse, desperation, and paranoia. It’s the type of record that can easily garner coveted radio airplay, and yet, it can also serve as the background playlist for a BDSM orgy in an illegal dungeon or abandoned warehouse. “This was our attempt at a straight-forward pop record,” says Giordano. “It, of course, all still came out fucked because it's us creating it. But I tried to imagine our band playing a giant arena and what that would sound like. I wanted to strip away some of the chaos and just write stronger songs. I didn't want the band to mellow out, but I did want to see if we could mature a bit. If the previous album was an intense sci-fi slasher, this one would be closer to a Hitchcock or DePalma film.”
Make no mistake, while there is a blatant antithesis between the band’s two personalities, the duality is a major part of Skin Show’s identity. Reflected not only in the music, but also through the ominous and unsettling artwork created by Mothmeister. When asked about the collaboration, Giordano says, “We worked with Mothmeister again for the album art and used a similar approach as we did with the music. Things are stripped down, more direct, more focused. There's a sense of fear, isolation, and madness that very much correlates with the music. The character on the outside is in white and surrounded in light, while the character on the inside is in black surrounded by darkness. But it's ultimately two sides of the same character. I think that's a good representation of the themes within the album, dark things within people that they may want to keep hidden.”

The Lion’s Daughter may elude all characterization, fitting in all boxes while also fitting in none at all, but one thing is for certain, the genuine artistry behind Skin Show is forthright and undeniable. Whether it be a poppy opus like the title track or the haunting and sludgy vibes of “The Chemist,” all ten tracks are guaranteed to be bangers, holding the listener at knifepoint and demanding their attention with each and every note.

False Memories signed to Frontiers via the label's new A&R initiative, Frontiers & Beyond. The band is one of four bands, out of countless submissions, that were signed via the F&B portal. https://www.frontiersandbeyond.com

"We like to insert prog elements into a "dark/goth" context, while keeping the songwriting in the surroundings of more traditional structures. The album we have always wanted to make is here thanks to a line-up that has achieved a great balance. We have always been inspired by science and psychology. This time, we wrote 'The Last Night Of Fall' thinking of translating the human soul into music in all its emotions, disturbances, and sensations. The listener can take an intense journey towards their own conscience, a journey full of strong and sometimes conflicting emotions, but which together coexist in the 11 tracks," says frontwoman Rossella Moscatello.

Of first single 'Voices', she says it "is a whirlwind of emotions contained in a single song. It speaks of a soul in pain, constantly tormented by its insecurities, fears, anger, paranoia. It embodies the human soul of many who in these hard times have had to fight against their own demons to move forward, against the thousand voices that hinder their serenity. 'Voices' was one of the first songs that Francesco [Savino, guitarist] and I wrote as it was necessary to "visualize" the direction the whole album had to take: the song that best embodies everything we are in terms of musical research and "emotional capacity", a not negligible detail in a genre like ours."

Shortly after being signed, frontwoman Rossella said about the album, "We worked hard on the production of this record and it has been very exciting to get positive feedback from people who have heard it. Fate has decided that we had to work with an Italian record company, Frontiers! It is an immense honor for us to join the roster of a label of this prestige and it is a source of great pride to have been chosen. 11 tracks of intense gothic/doom metal! Get ready and see you on the road, hopefully soon!”

False Memories was originally formed in 2015 by guitarist Francesco Savino and soon started working on original material. In 2016, the band released a self-titled EP which included four original tracks and one cover. As time progressed, the band’s soundscapes got more mature and headed towards a more goth rock/metal sound. Invigorated by their new sound, the band started to work on its first full-length release, “Chimerical”. Originally released independently in January 2018, the album featured eight previously unreleased tracks and three of the original songs from the debut EP, for a total of 11 original songs.

In October 2018, singer Rossella Moscatello joined the band and the band eventually released a new edition of the “Chimerical” album, including three bonus tracks sung by Rossella.

For this new album, "The Last Night Of Fall," the composers are both Francesco Savino and Rossella Moscatello, with a line-up featuring new drummer Emanuele Cossu, second guitarist Moreno Palmisano, and bassist Gianluca Zaffino.

Line-up:

Rossella Moscatello - Vocals

Francesco Savino - Guitars

Moreno Palmisano - Guitars

Gianluca Zaffino - Bass

Emanuele Cossu - Drums
