ALBERT BOUCHARD, FOUNDING MEMBER OF BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, RETURNS TO THE BILLBOARD CHARTS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 32 YEARS AND ANNOUNCES VINYL VERSIONS OF “RE IMAGINOS”

Albert Bouchard is best known as a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult. The original line-up sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart “Burning For You”. Bouchard contributed to songwriting, drums, and lead vocals on some of their greatest songs, such as “Cites on Flame with Rock and Roll”.

“Re Imaginos” came out on November 6th though RockHeart Records / Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group) and hit the Billboard Top 100 (#97), Albert’s first time back on the charts in 32 years. Due to the overwhelming demand, “Re Imaginos” is now being released as a limited-edition vinyl release. This special run comes as a double LP gatefold edition, including extended versions of “In the Presence of Another World”, “Imaginos”, “Blue Oyster Cult”, plus the bonus instrumental, “Imaginos Overture”. And if that is not enough, the album also features liner notes by Rolling Stone editor, David Fricke. This is the ultimate presentation of the unique story that is Imaginos.

Hadees Market is a musical manifestation of me, Greg Williamson. I’ve been exceedingly fortunate to make recorded music here in the US Pacific Northwest with my brother and a few best friends since 1980. I was in a couple different DIY/indie-punk/alternative bands through the ‘80s, and in a regularly gigging post-punk band in the first half of the ‘90s as a drummer. About 1995 I started taking songwriting more seriously, and now I mostly write on guitar.

In 2003, I put out my first six-song EP as Hadees Market, and asked my musician friends to join me on different tracks. Only seventeen years later, in 2020, I’m putting out my latest EP, entitled “To the Island, From the Lake.” The new EP is me with the full band sound; I also perform as a singer-songwriter with just me and a guitar.

The name of the band comes from the name of my grandparents’ grocery store in Olympia, WA in Mud Bay in the 1940’s. My grandmother was “Hazel” and my grandfather “Ira Dee,” so they called the place Hadees Market. 
People used to come in and ask my grandpa if he was Mr. Hadees. He always said “yes.”

TOWNSHIP Release 'Live at Mad Oak Studios'

Boston-based classic rock revivalists TOWNSHIP continue to revisit what proved to be one of the most challenging and tumultuous parts of their history. Two weeks ago (Dec. 4) saw the release of the group's self-proclaimed "lost" studio album, titled 'Life Starts Tonight' (out now).

Fans can now hear what the band has dubbed the apex of the Life Starts Tonight chapter of their careers. 'Live at Mad Oak Studios', recorded in 2010, would serve as Township's deliberate effort to capture the tracks from 'Life Starts Tonight' in a live production setting, in addition to showcasing the contributions made to those tracks by guitarist Alejandro Necochea (who replaced Matt Smart). The record was masterfully engineered and mixed by Grammy-winning Benny Grotto and captures the band in full command of their truly realized "take no prisoners" moxy. 'Live at Mad Oak Studios' is out TODAY on the major digital/streaming platforms.

About 'Live at Mad Oak Studios':

2010 would prove to be a very rewarding, but also very trying and tumultuous year for the band, ultimately leading toward a near break-up and subsequent member exit. At the beginning of the year, the band was still breaking-in Alex, releasing Vol.1 through King Yum, and getting ready to undertake a 5-week tour that would go down as easily their craziest. The running joke was that the band went on tour to promote an unreleased album, and that proves accurate.

Township saw the LIVE AT MAD OAK STUDIOS opportunity as a chance to get down the LIFE STARTS TONIGHT songs with Alejandro on them (not on the studio version and had added quite a lot to them), hype up the Greatest Hits album, and show others (and ourselves) that we were ready to enter a new, take-no-prisoners phase. Shortly after that destructive March tour, Alex, John, and Marc spent countless nights working up new material while Greg was sidelined with knee and back injuries. When the trio finally had the songs for what would be ONE MORE SUMMER, all thoughts of 'Life Starts Tonight'seemed to fade in the broken taillights.

Upon rediscovery of this live set – masterfully engineered and mixed on the fly by Grammy-winning Benny Grotto, its seriousness is palpable. The band worked exceptionally hard in 2010 and by that fall were a force to be reckoned with (find Sept. 10th, 2010 @ Middle East Downstairs show on YouTube), but also at a serious crossroads. And as stated before, by the end of that year, this chapter in Township history would be over. This live album is the perfect, exciting apex to the LIFE STARTS TONIGHT journey. The last chapter in the first volume of Township history.

Shark Island was once the house band at the world famous Gazzaris on the Sunset Strip. Signed to Epic Records in 1989 the band released their debut album “Law of the Order”, and also saw the tracks ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Father Time’ featured in the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, as well as the song ‘My City’ from the movie Point Break.

Richard would go on to be part of the short lived supergroup Contraband which also featured Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO), and members of L.A. Guns, Ratt and Vixen. They released one album in 1991 before disbanding.

As part of the Japanese release of Bloodline 2.020 Shark Island included a live acoustic version of “Paris Calling”, which is now being released digitally worldwide through Deko Entertainment. Richard comments on this unique version, “Recorded at a private, and closed performance, of about 15 people. A reunion of sorts; Spencer and I laid it down.

Acclaimed photographer and longtime BILLY TALENT collaborator Dustin Rabin has announced the release of a series of interactive Billy Talent E-Books.

Gleaned from Rabin's archives of photos of the band, the first volume, Photographs 2002 – 2005 covers the formative years of the iconic Canadian rockers.

Available exclusively through the Apple E-Book store on December 18, the E-Book features never-before-seen photos of the group from their earliest tours and recording sessions presented alongside insightful written and audio commentary from the band themselves. "I've taken thousands of photos of Billy Talent over the past 18 years, most of which have never been seen by anyone but the band and me," recalls Rabin. "Looking back at that collection now, I realize there's a great story to be told. The day of our first photo shoot in 2002, Billy Talent had yet to sign a record deal, record their debut album, or even go on tour outside of Ontario, Canada. Within three years, the band released Billy Talent I, made three music videos, toured the world, and headlined an absolutely massive festival in front of nearly 70,000 fans! I'm grateful to have been there for all of it."

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE has shared a brand new video for the title track of their latest album, 'Grave Image.' The video, which was made by Guilherme Henriques.

Comments the band: "The themes reflected in both the video and song are indicative of the world we currently occupy — the pandemic of 2020 simply amplified those matters. The havoc wrought upon this planet via the denial of science and facts will have an adverse effect for generations to come. As suggested in the accompanying lyrics for 'Grave Image' the song, these wanton acts are far from an illusion, but instead are now a part of everyday, real life.

"With 2020 about to bow out, we are looking toward the future, namely our third studio album, as well as the ongoing promotion of 'Grave Image.' We are currently deep in the throes of demoing and immensely look forward to putting the finishing touches on these compositions. The early verdict is that these songs are slower, doomier, and, dare we say more 'atmospheric' than before.

The fallible nature of mankind is reflected through its actions and words. Once an absolute, truth is now fluid, twisted and contorted to suit the often-short-sighted needs of those who now suffer the indignation of willful ignorance. Paired with the stench of hypocrisy and unrelenting depletion of the earth’s resources, and the state of the world could not appear graver. It is under this grey cloud that enigmatic dark metal collective DEATHWHITE created their second full-length studio album, 'Grave Image.'

'Grave Image' was recorded during April and May 2019 at Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer; vocal tracking took place at Erik Rutan’s (Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel) Mana Recording under the supervision of engineer Art Paiz. The album was mastered by the incomparable Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale) at Unisound, and, as with the band’s previous two efforts, the artwork and design were handled by Jérôme Comentale, whose visuals are crucial to DEATHWHITE’s overall aesthetic.

'Grave Image' is a largely heavier and more orchestrated body of work than ‘For a Black Tomorrow’ (2018). The album is driven by clean, emotive vocals, an increasingly rare commodity in a metal scene so committed to harsher styles of singing. This embrace and execution of such vocals are one of the defining traits of the ten songs found therein, which also offer a wall of guitars flanked by a constant stream of melodies, the direct result of the band adding a second guitarist in 2018.

Since its 2012 formation, DEATHWHITE has remained committed to playing dark metal while remaining anonymous. The band is the utter representation of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” adage — its members are from disparate backgrounds and are once again spread out across the United States. However, DEATHWHITE remains a vehicle for its members to create new music and convey their unflinching sense of despair as humanity continues its rapid descent to the bottom.

“We consider ourselves to be quite privileged to have DEATHWHITE in our lives,” concludes the band. “With that in mind, 'Grave Image' represents the months of hard work that went into its creation. An artistically created, dystopian mirror on society!

As the year comes to a close, modern metal's busiest band, JINJER, are going out with one last huge bang with a surprise video release for the fan favorite track “Home Back”, the seventh single taken from their critically acclaimed studio album Macro.

The offical music video for “Home Back”, with lyrics written by the exceptionally talented Tatiana Shmayluk, is not only a testament to JINJER's creativity and drive to continuously raise the bar musically as a band, but also an audiovisual statement against war and a very personal topic for each band member. Because of where JINJER originally come from, the Donetsk region of Ukraine, they are no strangers to upheaval and the suffering caused by conflict.

JINJER bassist Eugene Abdukhanov says:

“War... War never changes and it never stops. No matter how much grief, misery, suffering and pain it brings there will always be individuals who either reap the benefits or just relish in it's power. They will drive others to march and kill in the name of... for the sake of... if we look really closer... nothing. It is really hard for me to embrace how people in the 21st century still believe that there is something to fight for on any battlefield. We all depend on a few major economies in the world and their national currencies. We all are at keystrokes length through the Internet. And yet... every day people are driven to kill their true brothers and sisters on our one and common land we call Earth. Then 2020 comes around and there is a glimmer of hope that this might be a turning point. That a common threat will unite all of us and this might be the beginning of a new era... but no. They still march and kill. Every war is a tragedy and a crime against humanity in my opinion. No matter what your beliefs or ideologies are, nothing justifies taking homes, health and lives of innocent children who inevitably suffer in every military conflict. Imagine hundreds of thousands of refugee children around the globe screaming at once: I want my home back!”

The track’s visual component not only showcases the band’s bold lyricism, but also their conceptual cognizance - between media presentation and an artistic antithesis - JINJER sets a clear exclamation mark with “Home Back”.

From there, BOKASSA performed on some of Norway's biggest festivals like Øya, Stavern, Pstereo and Malakoff, just to name a few, and toured throughout Europe and Norway. In 2019, the band set a massive milestone when they were handpicked by Lars Ulrich to support Metallica alongside Ghost on their summer stadium tour across Europe, the UK and Russia. The legendary drummer hailed them as "his favorite new band" and described them as "Insanely fucking cool" after hearing the first album.

The band’s sophomore full-length, Crimson Riders (2019), was critically acclaimed by respected magazines all around the globe. Kerrang´s Sam Law described the output as follows: "It’s not southern-fried licks or black-eyed breakdowns that set this lot apart. It’s a zero-bullshit mindset that sees everything inauthentic, non-essential and not nailed down cast to the wind. True grit, see, is tough to fake."

Ryan Clark’s album design work includes packaging for Alice In Chains, Chris Cornell, Stone Sour, Wolfmother, Sevendust, Of Mice & Men, Bullet For My Valentine, Underoath, and Norma Jean (GRAMMY Award nominated for Best Recording Package), alongside many others. Belgian dark metal outfit EMPTINESS has shared an official music video for the new song "Le Mal est chez lui," which is the second single from their upcoming full-length, 'Vide,' due February 12.

EMPTINESS comments on the track, "Self-isolation, but Evil is at home."

The new album is completely produced by vocalist/bass player Jérémie Bézier, who is trying to create something authentic and avoid all external energies. The tracking mostly happenened during the Belgian lockdown, in his apartment and rooftop 7th floor in Brussels. Pre-orders are now available HERE.

The shape-shifting Belgian quartet EMPTINESS returns with 'Vide,' their first new album in four years. 'Vide' (the French word for empty) sees the band veer away from the mechanical foreboding of 2017's 'Not For Music' into a more introspective and deconstructed direction. It unfolds like a fever dream, with each track falling into hazy rhythmic patterns and featuring haunting vocals that hang in the ether.

Founded in Europe's center of gravity, Brussels (BE), in the year 1998, EMPTINESS embarked on their musical journey with a burning vision to delve deep into darkness and horror. While the band was taking musical inspiration from different extreme styles such as black and death metal, the Belgians approached the music in an open minded manner of continuous experimentation.

Following their inception, EMPTINESS first released the two demos 'Eternal Rising' (2000) and 'Necrorgy' (2002) that received a remarkable welcome in the underground. Yet with each new album, 'Guilty to Exist' (2004), 'Oblivion' (2007), 'Error' (2012), and 'Nothing but the Whole' (2014), the Belgians were also increasingly leaving a mark in mainstream music press.

EMPTINESS scored the devil's luck and won the perfect production set-up to create new sinister soundscapes during the recordings of 'Not For Music' in 2017. After recording in their own Blackout Studio, the Belgians received an invitation to further enhance the production of 'Not for Music' by Jeordie White aka Twiggy Ramirez (MARILYN MANSON, A PERFECT CIRCLE, NINE INCH NAILS). The final mix and mastering was done by Sean Beavan (GUNS N' ROSES, NIN, SLAYER).

'Vide' (2021) was meant as a claustrophobic album, a journey of an infinite mind stuck into a world too small. Questioning the essence of once perceptions, this album invites you to rethink your grasp of reality. To that end, it was important for EMPTINESS to be isolated during its experimentations. Recordings would take place sometimes in confined spaces like apartments or a cabin in the woods, and sometimes on a city roof allowing to contemplate a strange human world from above. Involvement was strictly limited to the band members who took care of all audio production and visuals work. The pandemic and lockdown happened while recording was in progress; a materialization of the imaginary world being created. The album either by coincidence or not, is in tune with our dissonant times.

Bieler is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer who is also known for playing with hard rock band SAIGON KICK, which achieved a platinum single in the US with the timeless hit "Love Is On The Way" from its gold-selling album "The Lizard", which Jason also produced. Bieler also played in an early touring version of TALISMAN with Marcel Jacob and Jeff Scott Soto, as well as SUPER TRANSATLANTIC, with EXTREME bassist Pat Badger, earning them a gold record for their work on the soundtrack for the "American Pie" movie. Immediately hitting the road in support of the album, WOLFTOOTH harvested countless new fans, building a reputation as a hard-hitting live act by supporting metal icons like Iced Earth, Sanctuary, Black Label Society, The Atomic Bitchwax, EYEHATEGOD and The Obsessed. In 2019, the band returned to the studio to record their sophomore release, Valhalla. WOLFTOOTH expanded on their already potent sound with cleaner production, hooky choruses and colossal riffs, all while harking back to the golden age of heavy metal. The record hit the underground in mid-2020, debuting on DoomCharts.com at #1.
