THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Millionaire"

New Album 'White Lightning' Out July 1, 2022

The Boppers have released the third single from their upcoming album 'White Lightning'. The new song, titled "Millionaire", was written by Eva Eastwood.

Matte Lagerwall of The Boppers comments on the song:

"Eva is a dear friend of ours and she has written top songs for us before, so I talked to her, we discussed some song ideas ahead of the new album, and soon a newly written 'Millionaire' landed in the box. We arranged it our way and here it is - The Boppers third digital single release this year!"

Eva continues:

"Being able to write songs for their idols is every songwriter's dream. The Boppers are cool - I'm so proud."

Together with the legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, etc), the band has recorded their new album White Lightning! The Boppers celebrate 45 years as a band, and with the album White Lightning they prove that they are still a band to be reckoned with.

It’s an album for old fans as much as for new generations and after 45 years on the road, The Boppers sound even hungrier and are always up to date.

'White Lightning' is set for release on July 1, 2022 via Wild Kingdom/Sound Pollution.

THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Motorbikin'"

Second Track Off New Album 'White Lightning'

The Boppers are back with a bang! With the first single (Callous Rain) from the new album, the band got the listeners to turn up the volume properly! And when the band performed as secret guests at The Hellacopters’ release party, the success was instant.

Now The Boppers are reloading, and the second single is nothing less than the band's riotous version of Chris Spedding's classic "Motorbikin’" from 1975!

Together with the legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, etc.), the band has recorded their new album 'White Lightning'! The Boppers are celebrating 45 years as a band, and with White Lightning they prove that they are still a band to be reckoned with.

It's an album for old fans as much as for new generations and after 45 years on the road, The Boppers sounds even hungrier and is just as always up to date.

The story of The Boppers is a story about some teenagers from Stockholm who were in the right place at the wrong time. Forming in 1977, when punk rock exploded around the world, their views on '50s doo-wop and rock 'n' roll couldn't have been more outdated - but they refused to fit in and ultimately made it a success.

Swedish Rock Pioneers THE BOPPERS Release New Single "Callous Rain"

The story of The Boppers started out as a fairytale about some teenagers from Stockholm who were in the right place at the wrong time.

Forming the band in 1977 when punk rock exploded around the world, their take on 50’s doo-wop and rock n roll couldn’t be more out of style, but they refused to fit in and turned it into a success. Their debut album, 'Number One', which contained mostly covers of their 50’s favorites from the likes of Roy Orbison, Dion & Belmonts, etc. sold over 450,000 copies in Sweden!! There was no doubt about it, The Boppers were the next big thing!

Since then, they’ve become an institution in Swedish rock n roll history, with their albums selling worldwide. Always true to their roots, they’ve kept on digging where they stand.

This year, The Boppers are celebrating 45 years as a band with a brand new album...and a new record company! For the new album, the band teams up with Wild Kingdom / Sound Pollution. They’ve collaborated closely with Sulo (singer and frontman of Diamond Dogs) and legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg (The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, etc).

“Callous Rain” is the first single from the band's upcoming album 'White Lightning'.

It’s a dark anthem about life’s inescapable terms and conditions that reminds of The Walker Brothers' heyday with its beautiful harmonies. A 60’s feel that’s underlined by Nicke Andersson of The Hellacopters bleeding guitar solo.

45 years down the road, The Boppers make a statement that more can be expected.
