<<VONAMOR is music and movement. VONAMOR is real and virtual.
VONAMOR is the end and the beginning. VONAMOR is from love, of love, for love.>>

Following the release of their stunning self-titled debut album, Italian postpunk-darkwave-electro trio VONAMOR present their new single 'Lucky You' via a new seductive and prophetic videoclip, directed by Francesca Bottaro.

VONAMOR is made up of sisters Giulia Bottaro, Francesca Bottaro and Luca Guidobaldi, with Francesco Bassoli and Martino Cappelli joining in for live performances. This project started in 2016. Initially focused on communicating images and composing scores for short films, they morphed into the trio we know today with their style, literary echoes, imperious art-pop and enigmatic aesthetics.

Their album, which boasts the artistic production of the eclectic producer Lucio Leoni, follows their recent singles 'You the People' and 'Take Your Heart' and earlier videos for 'Never Betray Us' and 'Fast-Forward Girl'.

Combining classical influences with electronic music, VONAMOR confirms their will and ability to communicate audio-visually, offering glimpses of the contemporary world in an artistic and forward-looking vision, even though it may be sometimes dark or seductively morbid.

In the video for 'Lucky You', VONAMOR catapults us into a world oscillating between the poised aesthetics of a fashion shoot and the anguish of a world suffocated by plastic. Black and white illuminates, invigorating half-naked bodies, as if embalmed by layers of plastic. Aesthetically attractive images become suffocating and then turn into ethereal ones, in a continuous flow between claustrophobia and breathe. In being transported to a world of pills, cellophane and tin cans, we can join the trio in wondering whether we've “screwed it all up”, in a prophetic interweaving of voices (and languages) singing of wars that “are not so cold anymore”, of “fake news and fake truths and things that must have been misunderstood”.

The 'VONAMOR' album offers a wildly emotional trip through stories of love, belonging, submission, protest, power, desire, abuse and the passion that affects our everyday lives. Here we find stories of femme fatales and fearful memories, of burning desires, motherly loves and fatal tragedies, falling empires and latent revolutions. Music about a messed-up world that is always moving too fast, yet makes us dangerously linger between reality and dystopia, sanity and madness. Music conveying the hope that we recover our true and authentic bond with mother nature and other human beings.

“Through our darkwave music and words, we search for the question, the ambiguity, the multiform influence of a variety of demons. We feel the urgency of questioning ourselves, our fellow human beings and the reality around us," says Giulia Bottaro.

The full 'VONAMOR' album is out now, both digitally and on CD. It is available across online stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Spotify and elsewhere, and can be ordered directly from Time To Kill Records.

Italian postpunk-darkwave-electro trio VONAMOR have released their debut 'VONAMOR' album digitally and on CD via Time To Kill Records (TTK). The album, which boasts the artistic production of the eclectic producer Lucio Leoni, follows their recent singles 'You the People' and 'Take Your Heart' and earlier videos for 'Never Betray Us' and 'Fast-Forward Girl'.

Through their pulsating, imaginative music, VONAMOR mixes fascinating contemporary electronic beats with dark, noise and punk sounds evocative of the ‘80s with the addition of melancholic and clever lyrics written in several different languages, including English, Italian, French, German and even Chinese.

Track by track, the 'VONAMOR' album teases the audience with a wildly emotional trip around the world - through the stories of love, belonging, submission, protest, power, desire, abuse and the passion that affects our everyday lives.

This 'VONAMOR' long-player is rich with musical brilliance, magnetic sensuality, unexpected twists, literary echoes and cinematographic references. Through an addictive vortex made of male and female voices, tongues, idioms, musical timbers, beats and pauses, VONAMOR come face to face with a multitude of demons, suggesting a change of perspective - to make you move, dance and, ultimately, love, leaving all restraints and conventions behind.

“Through our darkwave music and words, we search for the question, the ambiguity, the multiform influence of a variety of demons. We feel the urgency of questioning ourselves, our fellow human beings and the reality around us," says Giulia Bottaro.

'You The People' is available across online stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Spotify and elsewhere. On February 18, the full-length album will be released, both digitally and on CD, and can be pre-ordered directly from Time To Kill Records.

Postpunk-darkwave-electro trio VONAMOR presents their pulsating and enthralling new single 'You the People'. Recalling the best dark pop of the '80s, this is the second taste of their impending debut 'VONAMOR' album, an 8-track collection produced by Lucio Leoni and being released via Time To Kill Records (TTK).

The hypnotic fast-paced videoclip features dystopian imagery depicting the messed-up and borderline world in which we live. The sound weaves together stories of men, power and protest worldwide to sharp dialogue between male and female, voiced in English and Italian. Colours and pounding images mesh with archive footage of clashes between people and power, men and progress, technology and freedom, as flashes of our modern world strike your retina.

“Through our darkwave music and words, we search for the question, the ambiguity, the multiform influence of a variety of demons. We feel the urgency of questioning ourselves, our fellow human beings and the reality around us," says Giulia Bottaro.

"At first it may seem you are watching the videoclip for 'You the People', but the more you go on, you may feel that the video itself is watching you - and you are there, at the very intersection between we and you, between past and present, between desire and fear, between sound and colour."

'You The People' underlines VONAMOR's dialecticism and style, as well as their will to convey originality and sensuality, even when menacing, with passion and intensity. Eternally playing with words and sounds, they never lose sight of the rhythmic, Dyonisian and captivating soul of their electro dark, post-punk vision.

This single follows the lead track 'Take Your Heart', which has been met with international acclaim, and its intriguing video, directed and edited by Fabio Santomauro. Last year, the trio released the singles 'Never Betray Us' and 'Fast-Forward Girl'.

VONAMOR is made up of sisters Giulia Bottaro, Francesca Bottaro and Luca Guidobaldi, with Francesco Bassoli and Martino Cappelli joining the trio for live performances. The band's roots date back to 2016 in Rome. Initially focused on communicating images and composing scores for short films, they morphed into the trio we know today with their style, literary echoes, imperious art-pop and enigmatic aesthetics.

“VONAMOR is an escape plan, our treasure island, a thick and savage jungle that gives you the chance to let your prayers and whispers reverberate like a church. We used the music in this album to walk paths that we hadn’t known before, to connect Rome to Paris to Berlin to Beijing, to mix techno music with folk, to let our voices and bodies mingle and dance to an incredibly weird yet familiar beat, and finally to search for a boom of love and light into the dark of our everyday life: yes, VONAMOR is a boom!" says Luca Guidobaldi.

This dark and defiant song speaks of a world - the one we call home - where human lives are severely challenged by unintelligible and deeply rooted mechanisms of power, submission and protest. The track combines male and female vocals in a dialogue that is dense and full of tension, where English and Italian tongues intertwine with both hammering electronic sounds and the smooth sounds of saxophone, clarinet and flute, its creators intent on dragging the listener into a maelstrom of emotion.

VONAMOR shares alt-wave goodness on 'Take Your Heart' single, unveils new video

VONAMOR is music and movement. VONAMOR is real and virtual.
VONAMOR is the end and the beginning. VONAMOR is from love, of love, for love.

"A captivating avant-garde new-wave track... charmingly ensures via an 80s call-and-response style throwback; with an ensnaring melody, that playfully entreats a surrender to the rhythm of the music" ~ Post-Punk.com

"Captivating... like a slow-drip of anxiety and shady mystic atmosphere that gradually builds in intensity, culminating in a fever-filled chilling chorus and a haunting wave of chanting" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Chilling and fiery, leaving an imprint on your brain that will have you singing lines from the song even afterwards. Stellar offering" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A dark delicious slice of darkwave excellence, starting from cold deadpan chill and gradually building with fired-up intensity in the same way as the best of Siouxsie and The Banshees" ~ Skylight Webzine

VONAMOR presents 'Take Your Heart', the lead track from their debut 'VONAMOR' album. Produced by Lucio Leoni, this 8-track collection will be released in February 2022 via Time To Kill Records (TTK).

This is a quick-paced track, recalling the best dark pop of the '80s, with a tandem of male and female voices, confronting each other without reaching a mutual understanding, the addictive rhythm all the while inciting dance and movement.

On 'Take Your Heart', the incongruities of language are a humorous counterpart to an imperfect world, made up of discord, virtual realities, and fatal detachment from spontaneity and lightness. The first female voice is answered by the addressed male voice, although he ultimately answers from “the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveller returns”.

A game of Dionysian invocations, of accusations and misunderstandings - all of it held together by a deep love that overcomes death. 'Take Your Heart' is an invocation to life, to love, to irony, to spontaneity in line with the poetry of VONAMOR’s music.

The video for 'Take Your Heart', directed and edited by Fabio Santomauro, is ironic and lively. On the one hand, it is an exhortation to the spontaneity and naivety typical of childhood, making you want to dance, to indulge in free and unconsciously autoironic movements. On the other hand, it shows the perils of detachment from reality, incomprehension and detrimental consequences of a literal reading of each other's words.

VONAMOR is made up of sisters Giulia Bottaro (voice, bass, metal flute) and Francesca Bottaro (drum station, sequencer, sax, clarinet) and vocalist Luca Guidobaldi, with Francesco Bassoli (guitars and loops) and Martino Cappelli (guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, oud, loops) joining the trio for live performances.

Theirs is a story of unexpected timbres, resonating at the very intersection between darkwave and electro music. The band's roots date back to 2016 Rome, when their focus was to communicate images, authoring various scores for short films. This morphed into the trio as we know it today with its contemporary taste and allure, literary echoes, imperious art-pop and enigmatic aesthetics.

“VONAMOR is an escape plan, our treasure island, a thick and savage jungle that gives you the chance to let your prayers and whispers reverberate like a church. We used the music in this album to walk paths that we hadn’t known before, to connect Rome to Paris to Berlin to Beijing, to mix techno music with folk, to let our voices and bodies mingle and dance to an incredibly weird yet familiar beat, and finally to search for a boom of love and light into the dark of our everyday’s life: yes, VONAMOR is a boom!" says Luca Guidobaldi.

In the past year, the band has released two singles, which are also featured on this album - 'Never Betray Us' and 'Fast-Forward Girl', accompanied by a clip directed by Diana Arbib and cinematography by Alessandro Rosa and featuring the dance performance 'Moto Perpetuo' by Anna Basti.

“Through our darkwave music and words, we search for the question, the ambiguity, the multiform influence of a variety of demons. We feel the urgency of questioning ourselves, our fellow human beings and the reality around us," says Giulia Bottaro.

Francesca Bottaro adds, "With VONAMOR, we turned such a feeling into a sound of female and male voices, wrapping bass-lines and electronic beats, woodwind instruments chasing and caressing you, till we make you dance and move and love with us.”

'Take Your Heart' is now available across online stores and streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Spotify and elsewhere. The full-length album will be released, both digitally and on CD, in February 2022. It can be pre-ordered directly from Time To Kill Records.
