THE DRIPPERS Release Sophomore Studio Album 'Scandinavian Thunder'

'Scandinavian Thunder' is the second studio album by Swedish action rock groupThe Drippers. Following the success of their praised debut LP 'Action Rock' in 2019, the Gothenburg power trio returns with an album that’s more furious and action-packed than ever before. With all knobs turned to eleven, the band delivers an uncompromising discharge of raw power. An intense dual vocal attack with screaming guitars, thunderous bass, and hammering drums.

The new album contains 11 tracks of high-energy rock n’ roll, and the band has once again teamed up with Tomas Skogsberg, who recorded and mixed 'Scandinavian Thunder' in the legendary Sunlight Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. Tomas is the operator behind classic recordings from The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, Entombed, and Backyard Babies, to name a few.

Viktor Skatt (vocals, bass) of The Drippers, comments:

“Scandinavian Thunder is the ultimate record that we wanted to make, we wanted to push everything to the max. The idea was to make the punky filth blend with the authoritarian power of hard rock, all with a straightforward Rock n’ Roll drive. The songs are kinda catchy and structured, we set it up to be controlled chaos.”

Viktor goes on to add:

“With the state of the world, we had so much frustration to channel and it gave us that extra spark. The screams on the album are from the bottom of our souls. Tomas Skogsberg stepped up into another level of producing on this one, he really took on the George Martin role and was super involved in every detail. He would push us until our fingers and vocal cords were bleeding, and in the end, it paid off. Get ready for some Scandinavian Thunder!”

'Scandinavian Thunder' is out today on all streaming platforms, with CD and vinyl releases set for early 2022.

THE DRIPPERS Drop New Single "No Stars" - New Album 'Scandinavian Thunder' Out December 10th

THE DRIPPERS mix raw production with sing-along choruses on their new garage rock hit "No Stars" - the third and final single leading up to the Swedish power trio's new album 'Scandinavian Thunder'. Viktor Skatt, bass player and vocalist, comments on the new single:

"No Stars might be our first attempt at a melodic chorus, kinda like the pretty dude in the ugly boys club. So our producer Tomas Skogsberg made sure we made it shitty, since we're not The Beach Boys. The guitar solo was recorded directly into the mixing board to get the rawest sound we could find."

"Overload" is out now on all streaming platforms. The Drippers' second full-length album 'Scandinavian Thunder' will see a December 10th, 2021 release via The Sign Records.

About THE DRIPPERS

The spirit of high-energy rock n' roll is reborn in The Drippers. Fusing the 90’s wave of Scandinavian rock like Gluecifer, The Hellacopters, and Turbonegro with the raw sound of classic bands like The Stooges, MC5, and Radio Birdman. Whether you wanna call The Drippers Garage or Action rock, one thing is sure: The band turns all dials to eleven. Screaming guitars, alcohol-fueled sing-along choruses and raw fucking energy is the pure essence of the band. Welcome to the new wave of Swedish Action Rock.

The Drippers has gained a reputation of being an explosive live band in a classic genre that's coming back to life. In 2018 the band released their debut EP “Motherfuckers Be Drippin’”. The EP was mixed by Tomas Skogsberg in Sunlight Studio, and distributed through Sound Pollution. The track Solitary Speaking was included in the “A Fistful More Of Rock And Roll” compilation released by Sal Canzonieri of Electric Frankenstein. The track was also released as a music video.

The band has become a popular live act, sharing the bill with bands like Turbonegro, Supersuckers, Hank Von Hell, The Dwarves, The Baboon Show, Mustasch, Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker, Honningbarna, Scumbag Millionaire, Deadheads, Hard Action, Märvel, Night, etc.

The Dripper's debut album Action Rock was recorded in Sunlight Studio and produced by legendary Tomas Skogsberg (who during the ’90s took The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, Backyard Babies, Entombed under his wings). The result is an eleven-track testimonial that led to a record deal with The Sign Records. The main single, "Gimme The Shakes", quickly became a sensation in the Action Rock community as the music video was released, it showed a band that was hungrier than ever and ready to take on the world.

The album was released on August 2nd, 2019 to great critical acclaim and a thunderous release party at Weltturbojugendtage in Hamburg. Reviews have been outstanding and by the time of release, several distributors had already sold out their batch of records. Hellion Records in Brazil quickly bought a license to release the album to the South American market. The band also did a UK tour with The Hip Priests in November 2019, before landing big opening slots for acts like Hank Von Hell and Monster Magnet.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all touring was canceled, but the band instead wrote and recorded their second album Scandinavian Thunder. The album was once again produced, recorded, and mixed by Tomas Skogsberg in Sunlight Studio. The album channels all the frustration and disillusion that was built up while society was put on hold. The menacing riffs and shitty sound is backed up by strong songwriting and catchy hooks. The band is now ready to release this lightning in a bottle upon the world. Get ready for some Scandinavian Thunder.

Swedish Garage Rock Trio THE DRIPPERS Drop New Single "Overload"

THE DRIPPERS have released their new single ”Overload”, which sees the Swedes deliver an uncompromising discharge of raw power; setting a new standard for high-octane Scandinavian garage rock. "Overload" is the second single off The Drippers’ upcoming sophomore album, which drops this Winter.

Viktor Skatt, bassist and vocals in The Drippers, says:

"Overload is a song where the title says it all. It's pure adrenaline and action rock madness at 200 miles per hour. A tough riff and extreme aggression is all you need. It might not sound like your typical rock single, but we're not your typical rock band.

At first we weren't gonna include it on the album, since we'd already released a version of it on a vinyl split with Bitch Queens (under the name "Beach King"). But we reworked it quite a bit and once it got that Sunlight sound we felt the song was too good to let go. It really showcases our ex-plosive and aggressive side perfectly."

"Overload" is out now on all streaming platforms via The Sign Records.

THE DRIPPERS Drop New Single "Time For Some Action" - First Offering From Upcoming Sophomore Album

mail-190.jpeg

Swedish action-rock trio THE DRIPPERS have released their new single ”Time For Some Action”. High octane garage punk ’n’ rock with raw vocals and thick, distorted guitars. The new single is the first taste of The Drippers’ upcoming sophomore album, which follows their acclaimed 2019 debut 'Action Rock'.

Viktor Skatt (bass + vocals) explains how the single ”Time For Some Action” came to be, "It was William who told us in the car, going up to Sunlight Studio, that he had a new song that was gonna be on the album. We'd worked hard and pre-produced the other tracks over several months so it seemed like he was a bit late to the party with this one. But we learned the song in the studio and worked on it for half an hour. Turned out it had a great groove to it, and with that commanding title it was a fitting song to choose as a first single. It's time for some action!!"

”Time For Some Action” is out now on all streaming platforms via The Sign Records.
