PHIL BARTON SIGNS WORLDWIDE PUBLISHING DEAL WITH BMG

Award-winning songwriter Phil Barton today announces a global publishing deal with BMG in partnership with Liz Rose Music, marking the next chapter in a career that has produced more than 900 songs released around the world.

Barton first broke through with Lee Brice's No. 1 hit "A Woman Like You," earning MusicRow's Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year honor and an NSAI "Ten Songs I Wish I'd Written" award. Since then, he has built an internationally respected catalog spanning Country, Pop and Children's music, with songs recorded by artists including Sara Evans, Gabby Barrett, Dustin Lynch, Eli Young Band, Priscilla Block, Matt Stell, LOCASH, Alison Krauss, Ashley McBryde and David Nail. His song "Cowboy's Duty" was also featured in the Oscar-nominated film Sicario, while his work has earned multiple No. 1 and Top 10 hits across both North America and Australia.

Visionary Songwriter Terri Jo Box Re-Signs with Jonas Group Publishing

Texas-born songwriter Terri Jo Box has re-signed her deal with Jonas Group Publishing (JGP). As the first writer signed to JGP in 2020, Box has gone on to have songs recorded by some of the most notable and distinguished voices in country music, including Cody Johnson on “God Bless The Boy (Cori’s Song)” and Lainey Wilson with “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song)” and “Hillbilly Hippie.” Both songs appeared on Wilson’s Bell Bottom Country album, which won a Grammy for Best Country Album and a CMA and ACM Award for Album of the Year. It is only the ninth album to complete country music’s “triple crown” by winning all three of these awards. 
 
In addition to her JGP cuts, she’s enjoyed success with Ashley McBryde’s “American Scandal” and “Bible and a .44,” which has also been recorded by Eric Church, Trisha Yearwood and others. Additionally, her song, “Dear Old Sun,” written with Miranda Lambert and Gwen Sebastian, was featured on Lambert’s Weight Of These Wings album which won the 2017 ACM Award for Album of the Year.

Named to the 2023 Class of Up-and-Coming Songwriters by the Association of Independent Music Publishers, Box has also had her songs recorded by award-winning and genre staples, including Patty Loveless, Joe Nichols, Gary LeVox, Gary Chapman, Wade Hayes, Chely Wright, Bryan Martin, Annie Bosko and more.

Born and raised in Nacogdoches, Texas, singer-songwriter Terri Jo Box has spent the last 25 years as a forerunner in the flourishing Nashville music scene. Growing up writing poetry, singing in church, and being inspired by country greats like George Strait, Wanda Jackson, Merle Haggard and Lee Ann Womack, it wasn’t until college that Box discovered her true passion for songwriting. She moved to Nashville and immersed herself in writer’s rounds and rooms while working in artist management before signing with Ray Hamilton’s MERF Music Group. In 2020, she became the flagship writer signed to Jonas Group Publishing, a division of Jonas Group Entertainment. Honoring her humble beginnings and commitment to helping develop the next class of Nashville talent, Box created the popular Music Row Freakshow writer’s round in 2014, which she hosts twice weekly in between her busy schedule.
