Abby Anderson Celebrates Newfound Confidence with Latest Release "Insecure"

In 2020, the word “insecure” would not likely be used by a casual observer to describe singer-songwriter Abby Anderson. With the release of her debut EP I’M GOOD in 2018, Anderson quickly earned praise from country music tastemakers. She was named a Pandora Country Artist to Watch and recognized as a member of CMT’s 2018 Next Women of Country, The Bobby Bones Show’s Class of 2019, MusicRow Magazine’s2019 Next Big Things and Sounds Like Nashville’s list of Country Artists to Watch in 2019.

However, on the heels of critical acclaim, “insecure” is exactly how Anderson felt. With time for reflection afforded by a global pandemic, she decided to step away from her label deal and focus on her own health and happiness.

“To me this song is absolute freedom. I’m so happy now,” shares Anderson. “I chose me. Now I dress how I want. I eat what I want. I’m making the music I want. I’m so thankful for that experience though. It has made me who I am today…I was insecure and I’m stronger now for facing those insecurities.”

Anderson’s new declaration of confidence, “Insecure,” is available now.

Written by Anderson alongside Marshall and Dylan Altman, as well as executive produced by Marshall Altman, the upbeat and unapologetic, the song offers an inspired message of positivity and overcoming insecurities.

I’m goin’ out tonight
I’m gonna be alright
When I walk out that door
I won’t need you anymore
I just might make a scene
Be somebody else’s dream
I ain’t who I was before
I ain’t that anymore
Insecure

“Insecure” follows the recent release of “Bad Posture,” which Billboard called a “bare-bones confessional” and led MusicRow to declare, “she’s singing with more guts than ever.” The two tracks are the first taste of new music from her new album due out early 2022, via Stem.
