Kenny Chesney Takes HEART LIFE MUSIC on SRO Sunshine State Run

Heading into the final leg of Heart Life Music: the book event tour, Kenny Chesney is marveling at the places he’s been, the people who’ve shown up and the way a book can come to life talking about it with co-author and National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards Independent Journalist of the Year Holly Gleason. As he enthuses, “Coming to see us at the stadiums, I totally understand. But you have to really love someone to come listen to them talk! All the laughter, the cheers and those moments of recognizing each other in the stories? It’s been a wild ride and incredible launch.”

Closing out the last leg with a walk-on opening interview on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” re-airing all week, Chesney heads south for a trio of book events in Florida. Starting with a sold-out-in-minutes appearance at Key West’s iconic Tennessee Williams Theater today, Nov. 10, then going to another sold-out-in-minutes event in Tampa, where he has kicked off so many tours at Raymond James Stadium, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar and recent Country Music Hall of Fame inductee wraps his tour up near the ocean, the sand and places where Heart Life Music was created.

“Beyond all the inspiration and the memories places like Key West, Tampa, West Palm Beach and South Florida hold,” Chesney explains, “an awful lot of interviews, editing and Holly’s actual writing was done in the area, so this seemed the perfect way to conclude bringing Heart Life Music into the world.

“When we were asked to be the final event of the Miami Book Fair’s opening weekend, which is such a big deal, it made me feel like this book really was something that struck a chord with people who know books. In a lot of ways, I feel like I’m going back to the Super Bowl, which anyone who’s read the book, will understand. But it’s David Wegman, Jimmy Buffett’s Keys, my own first headlining tour that kicked off in West Palm and where I signed that contract with my soul, plus all those years rocking the pirate ship at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium… Like starting the book tour at ETSU, this is a whole other homecoming.”

Having already been named to Barnes & Noble’s “Best Biographies and Memoirs of 2025” list, Chesney’s love letter to the magic carpet ride from a little boy dreaming to dream to Moscow, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, the Caribbean, Cabo Wabo and Jamaica alongside friends and heroes including George Jones, Eddie Van Halen, Alabama, Steve Miller, Sammy Hagar, Grace Potter, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Walsh, the Wailers, Uncle Kracker and Willie Nelson is registering with readers across the country. Whether for beach reading, a snowy afternoon or a commute, Heart Life Music offers an escape through music, sports, boats and points beyond where most of us journey.

Establishing a voice that captured coming of age and living life as fully as possible in the 21st century, Chesney wants each talk to reflect his unique relationship with No Shoes Nation, the music and anyone seeking inspiration to create their own place in the world.

About The Authors
One of contemporary American music’s biggest names, Kenny Chesney was voted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year and was named Billboard’s No.1 Country Artist of the 21st Century. Selling out America’s major stadiums for two decades and playing to over a million fans every summer since 2002, Variety pronounced him “country music’s only true long-term stadium act.” The East Tennessee songwriter/superstar has over 105 Platinum certifications, won the prestigious Entertainer of the Year eight times, as well as holding Billboard’s record for the most Country Airplay No. 1s with 36 chart-topping songs that define coming of age in the flyover in the 21st Century. This year, the game-changing superstar became the first country artist to perform at the groundbreaking Sphere, taking No Shoes Nation into a whole new dimension, creating a space to work hard, play hard, love hard and come together in the spirit of celebrating all the moment offers. Heart Life Music is his first book.

Holly Gleason’s work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, the Library of Congress’ National Registry of Sound Recordings, among other outlets. She was the LA Press Club’s Entertainment Journalist of the Year and the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Association’s Independent Journalist of the Year. A former Rock & Roll Hall of Fame/Case Western Reserve Fellow, she’s the creator of Belmont Book Award-winning Woman Walk The Line, and co-authored Miranda Lambert’s New York Times best-seller Y’All Eat Yet as well as  Prine on Prine: Interviews & Encounters.

Kenny Chesney Kicks Off HEART LIFE MUSIC Tour w Laughter, Cheers + Revelation

There was laughter. There was singing. There were shouts and revelations. But mostly, there were singular conversations as high-impact country sensation Kenny Chesney kicked off the book tour for HEART LIFE MUSIC with two sold-out events in Johnson City, Tennessee and Boston. With lines wrapped around the buildings to see the 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee explore another first, Kenny Chesney returned to East Tennessee State University, where his journey truly began, and Boston, MA, where No Shoes Nation was named, to explore the origins, insights and memories that have seen HEART LIFE MUSIC – released nationwide Tuesday, Nov. 4 – already deemed “One for the road” by Publisher’s Weekly and Travel + Leisure calling it  “a genuine meditation on connection and purpose.”

“I can’t believe people would come to hear me talk,” confesses the songwriter/superstar of his first book events. “It’s one thing to come sing these songs with us, to throw your problems or your heart into the air with us for a few hours every summer, but this is a whole other thing. And to be honest, it’s way more fun than I would’ve ever imagined! So far, we’ve gone into the places we are, talked about the people they’d know – and come out on the other side having laughed a lot, cheered plenty and remembered even more about this wild, crazy magical carpet ride. I’m having the time of my life.”

Introduced by ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland and Country Radio Hall of Famer Ginny Brophey in Boston – both who appear in HEART LIFE MUSIC – the beyond sold-out events were riotous, often soul-searching beyond the scheduled time length, celebrations of Chesney’s life, love of creativity, the struggles and triumphs that have defined his unlikely rise and establishment of No Shoes Nation. More than a conversation with 12-time National Arts + Entertainment Journalism Awards nominee and co-author Holly Gleason, these book talks are a freewheeling trip through the process of how he got here, what dreams are made of, unthinkable moments and the places that made him.

Whether recalling the college bars on the Tree Streets, getting his doctorate and a particularly eye-opening trip to Moscow with the ETSU Bluegrass band or the evolution of overlapping similarities between New England, his island friends and people from back home, Chesney went deep to honor the people attending at ETSU’s Martin Center and Boston’s Back Bay Center with in-the-moment stories, including reminisces of the local “The Cas Walker Show” slogan or the polar reaction of Grace Potter and his fans’ reaction to their duet on the GRAMMY nominated, CMA Award-winning “You & Tequila.”

There was even a decades-long tradition in Boston. After multiple calls, cheering encouragement, Chesney sang an a capella verse and chorus of “Boston” with the audience who couldn’t get enough. “This is so in the moment, so like spending an afternoon on a bar stool with me,” Chesney says of the book events. “It’s more intimate than I could’ve ever imagined, more fun than I’ve had in a long time – and something completely unlike anything I’ve ever done. It’s just me, the questions and a whole lot of love coming from the people in the room – but what a rush! I wish I could do this everywhere.”

And so, just like those tours he takes to the cities beyond the stadium tour markets, Kenny has been watching the calls for “please come to our town” or “you’re not coming here” in the comments – and he’s found a way to include anyone who wants to be part of these very special, one-of-a-kind conversations. For anyone who’s not in the remaining cities that still have tickets – Philly tonight at the Academy of Music, Englewood, NJ at the Bergen Performing Arts Center 11/4, Chicago at the Copernicus Center 11/5, Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame on 11/6 or the Miami Book Fair on 11/16, Chesney has worked with the promoters, his publisher and the powers that be to create a virtual event out of his 11/7 appearance at Los Angeles’ Saban Theater for anyone who either couldn’t get a ticket or couldn’t get to a book event city to be able to take part in one of these outrageous conversations.

“This is too much fun,” enthuses the man the LA Times called “the people’s superstar” of these intimate conversations. “I’m learning even more about me, this journey and how much all of it means in these talks – and I don’t want anyone who wishes they could hear all about it to not have their chance to come along with us. I’m glad we figured out how to capture the magic – and make it available on demand for an entire week for anyone who wants to see what this is all about. AND if you buy a virtual ticket, we’re going to make sure you get the very same signed book everyone coming to one of these talks is going home with! They actually have book plates that say ‘Book Tour’ to commemorate the moment.”

“After all of it, I can’t wait to share all the characters I’ve met, people behind the scenes, the dead ends and places that maybe seemed like not much with everyone,” Chesney marveled during the process. “Because every single step, smile or hard lesson was part of this crazy ride. I had no idea how much I’d remember and learn about how we got here, but I am really excited to share it with No Shoes Nation.”

And now he adds, “Sharing these stories in these small rooms with several hundred members of No Shoes Nation makes HEART LIFE MUSIC suddenly really real. When you’re telling the stories and hear the laughter, or the cheers, or even the sighs, that’s when you know how much the things that have happened truly mean. It’s not just me, it’s us – and when we’re all together, and Holly’s asking all those questions to make me unpack not just how we got here, but why we all love each other so much, it’s awesome.

“I mean, when you look into the eyes of the young men and women who are the current ETSU Bluegrass Band or folks who’ve been coming to see me since we weren’t selling out small places, you realize: it really has been a helluva journey – and it’s a lot to take in. But I’m so glad we’re out here doing it.”

Joined for the spontaneous conversations that explore the stories from George Jones to Ethel Kennedy, Bruce Springsteen to Robert Kraft by two-time LA Press Club Music Criticism and Entertainment Journalist of the Year and co-author Holly Gleason, Chesney’s unpacking HEART LIFE MUSIC in a way that genuinely demonstrates the fun, the courage, the myriad artists, but especially the love of bringing people together that have defined No Shoes Nation. Establishing a voice that captured coming of age and living life as fully as possible in the 21st Century, Chesney wants each event to reflect his unique relationship with each city he’s going to, the music and anyone seeking inspiration to create their own place in the world.

“No Shoes Nation is my favorite place because there’s no borders, just coming together to love life, music, the moment and each other. I’m sure nobody votes the same, goes to the same church or school, but that’s okay: we see all the things we share and have in common. I love that, and that’s what this book, this tour and this moment is all about.”

Kenny Chesney's HEART LIFE MUSIC Tour Adds Chicago, Nashville & Miami Book Fair

When Kenny Chesney started work on Heart Life Music, he had no idea what would unfold. But like everything he does, he committed to the process, dug in and really examined the road from being a sports-obsessed kid lying in the yard and staring at the sky, to becoming the man the Wall Street Journal deemed “the King of the Road.” Football stadiums, student bluegrass band trips to Moscow, Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica, George Jones’ plane and experiencing Key West with his friend Jimmy Buffett are just some of the places the songwriter-superstar from East Tennessee found himself revisiting to tell the story.

“And after all of it, I can’t wait to share all the characters I’ve met, people who’ve been behind the scenes, the dead ends and places that maybe seemed like not much with readers,” Chesney enthuses. “Because every single step, smile or hard lesson was part of this crazy ride. I had no idea how much I’d remember and learn about how we got here, but I am really excited to share it with No Shoes Nation.

“Whether a Lower Broadway that no longer exists, and almost can’t be imagined, or the insane crowds at Chicago’s Soldier Field over the last 20 years, I’ve tried to make this book tour go  places that really stuck with us, made us – all of us – into the community we are,” he continues. “These stories aren’t just postcards from stops along the way, they are love letters to every person or place who was there. It’s why the final end papers are a picture from Soldier Field in 2024 with all those people that made it magic.”

Adding three more dates, Heart Life Musicthe Book Tour will go to Chicago the day after release for an event at the Copernicus Center, presented by The Book Stall. Then Chesney will head to Nashville for two book talks at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater, in partnership with Parnassus Books.

“I wanted to go to the heart of the country, and Chicago sure represents that for me. I wanted to go to the place where all of my music came together, the songwriters and creative community were so generous and encouraging to me. Teaming with Parnassus Books for an event at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, yards from the Turf where I’d played for tips when I arrived, is a dream come true.

“And we were asked to be a headliner for the opening  of the Miami Book Fair. I feel like we’re going back to the Super Bowl, which when you read the book, you’ll get the reference. It’s an honor to be part of such a respected and iconic event. And the way I love South Florida – from West Palm Beach’s Coral Sky to the Tortuga Music Festival, Miami and the Keys – this is a whole other homecoming.”

Joined for freewheeling conversations that explore the story and process by two-time LA Press Club Music Criticism and Entertainment Journalist of the Year and co-author Holly Gleason, Chesney will deep dive into Heart Life Music. Establishing a voice that captured coming of age and living life as fully as possible in the 21st Century, the man the Los Angeles Times called “the people’s superstar” wants each event to reflect his unique relationship with No Shoes Nation, the music and anyone seeking inspiration to create their own place in the world.

Kenny Chesney Kicks Off HEART LIFE MUSIC @ ETSU, Boston Nov. 1 + 2

With the audio book underway, the final edits complete and the start of fall ahead, Country Music Hall of Fame 2025 electee Kenny Chesney knew he wanted to do something very special to launch his upcoming Heart Life Music. Tracing the path of a pretty regular kid living well beyond the lights of Knoxville, Tennessee, he decided to kick off his book tour at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where his dream truly took wing, with a special event at the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts on Nov. 1 at 3pm.

“Having looked at my life in ways I never thought of,” says the man Wall Street Journal called “the King of the Road” about the process, “I realized: I’ve always loved sports, music and the sea. But the idea I’d chase this dream came together in Johnson City, trying to learn Doc Watson picking from Jack Tottle, playing Quarterbacks and Chuckey’s, and going to Russia with East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass Band.

“For me, going back to East Tennessee State University where all of this began was the only way to kick this book tour off. Hopefully, someone in the audience who’s wondering about their own dream might find what they need to get serious about whatever it is they’re chasing.”

And if he’s leaning into his heart, it stands to reason that Chesney would hit Boston the next day. With his legendary Gillette Stadium shows, including a three-day run in 2024, No Shoes Nation was named in 2012 and he passed a million fans in 2018, as well as the friends he’s made from the region over the years, the 8-time Entertainer of the Year will appear at Back Bay Events Center Nov. 2 at 7pm.

“Whether the friends I made in the islands long before this journey kicked into gear, Ginny Brophy who welcomed a kid with nothing going on at WKLB, the crazy fun with Grace Potter, sailing and more with Ethel Kennedy around the Nantucket Sound, conversations with the Globe’s Steve Morse or Super Bowls with Robert Kraft and his organization, there’s been something about the people of New England that recognizes the kid from East Tennessee in me. I like to say, ‘They believe me,’ but I think it’s more they know the same grit and passion that’s driven me and my team all these years.

“I know these are intimate events,” Chesney continues. “But I want everyone to really be able to hear, absorb and feel like we’ve come together before they dive into the book. There’s a lot there, and a lot that went into it – and I want to have very real conversations about all of it to give people a real sense of the role where they live has played in my journey and the man I wanted to be and – hopefully – became.”

Chesney will be joined by two-time LA Press Club Music Critic, friend and co-author Holly Gleason for freewheeling conversations to enrich reading Heart Life Music, anchoring the places book events will occur. Having found his voice delivering the experiences of coming of age and living life as fully as possible in the 21st Century, the songwriter/superstar wants each event to reflect his relationship with No Shoes Nation, the music and anyone trying to find inspiration to create their own place in the world.

As reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert prepares for the April 25 release of her first book, “Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen,” written together with Holly Gleason, she announces a trio of book signing events to bring the recipes she was raised on and stories of intergenerational female friendship to fans nationwide.

Kicking off in New York City on release day, Lambert will visit the 5th Avenue Barnes & Noble store April 25 at 12 p.m. ET before appearing at The Grove Barnes & Noble store in Los Angeles on April 28 at 11 a.m. PT. She will also return to her hometown of Lindale, Texas – where many of the book’s stories were born – for a signing at her own Pink Pistol store on May 9 at 12 p.m. CT ahead of the ACM Awards in nearby Dallas later that week. Limited tickets priced at $38.11 plus an Eventbrite fee of $4 (which include one book each) will be available via YallEatYetBook.com at 11 a.m. local time tomorrow, March 21.

With “Y’all Eat Yet?” (Dey Street Books), the most awarded artist in ACM history takes readers deeper into her life off stage, on her farm and on the road, as well as sharing her beloved Airstream trailers, her signature fashion sense and decorating style. Lambert grew up surrounded by her mother and grandmother, and also by her mother’s tight-knit pack of girlfriends. With them, she learned the power of female friendship and the bonds that women share – and the way good food and drink is the perfect reason for any gathering of your girlfriends.

“Watching my mom and her friends, I saw the way pitching in, working together, loving music and being there for each other is the greatest gift you can have in life. I think my mom inherited that gift from her mom, because they both attracted the most awesome group of girlfriends,” says Lambert.

These colorful women knew how to have too much fun, come through in a jam, celebrate, cry when necessary and really, really cook – and it’s to these women that Lambert credits her own inviting, come-on-in personality. Each and every recipe in “Y’all Eat Yet?” has been handed down from her mom, grandma and those cherished friends, including Nonny’s Banana Pudding, The Loaf (aka “the meal that will get the ring”), Dutch Oven (Coffee Can) Campfire Cobbler, Stacked Enchilada Bake, Jalapeño Pimento Cheese, Roasted Root Vegetable Winter Salad, Whiskey Cupcakes and more.

For everything from porch parties to road trips, the holidays and celebratory gatherings, “Y’all Eat Yet?” is true to Lambert’s roots growing up in Texas. It showcases easy to prepare, hearty and delicious meals meant to be shared with those you love. Full of the moments most people never get to see in the life of one of country music’s most important female superstars – along with gorgeous fare and 50 recipes – “Y’all Eat Yet?” was created to fill your belly and feed your soul.
