ARONIOUS Release Lyric Video for New Single "Descent of Inanna"

New Album 'Irkalla' out August 12th via The Artisan Era

Wisconsin-based Prog-Death metal quintet ARONIOUS are back with a new full-length studio effort. The follow-up to their 2020 album 'Perspicacity', the band's sophomore LP, 'Irkalla', will see an August 12th, 2022 release via The Artisan Era. To give fans a first taste of the new record, the band has released the first single, titled "Descent of Inanna", along with a lyric video for the track that can be seen below.

'Irkalla' marks the return of founding guitarist Brandon Brown to the lineup - this time manning lead vocal duties, along with the addition of new drummer Kevin Paradis and session bassist Andrew Kim.

Speaking about their new album, 'Irkalla', the band comments:

"Irkalla in Babylonian mythology is known as the underworld, which we found to be a fitting title for the dismal, dissonant, destructive, and technical sound of the music. The lyrical themes revolve around the arc of the ancient Sumerian epic, The Descent of Inanna, which calls attention to various correlated topics, such as the Sumerian Gods, their backstories, and Inanna’s odyssey to and from the underworld. This album is also the first to feature our new vocalist Brandon Brown, our new drummer Kevin Paradis and Andrew Kim on session bass.

Mixing was done by Nick Weyers and mastering was done by Marc Birr of Carp Town Studios. The songs you will hear on this album are for the most part about 4-6 years in the making, the oldest of which being the song ‘Negeltu’ which was written in 2016. These songs were originally intended to be used for Ryan Brumlic and Nick Weyers’ side project that was also named ‘Irkalla’, but since that project didn’t quite pan out, we figured that it sounded enough like Aronious to use as our next album. This worked out in our favor because the album ‘Irkalla’ really sounds like a more refined, intense and mature follow-up to the sound on our previous album ‘Perspicacity’. There’s no sugar coating it. We are confident this album will destroy you. Enjoy!"

About ARONIOUS:

Aronious is a technical dissonant death metal band originating from the coldest depths of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rising from these depths, Aronious is comprised of Brandon Brown on vocals, Ryan Brumlic on guitar, Nick Weyers on guitar, Jason Bouwer on bass, and Kevin Paradis on drums. Brandon Brown is a founding member of the band and was actually initially our other guitarist, but had taken a break from Aronious during his move to Kentucky. After our previous vocalist (Zach Earley) recently left the band, it only made sense to bring Brandon Brown back to the fold as our vocalist after hearing his vocal work in his project Klexos. Ryan Brumlic guitarist and other founding members of the band continue to meticulously compose songs of a dissonant and technical nature along with guitarist Nick Weyers. The two have since proven to be an integral part of Aronious’ overall sound, and provide a strong foundation through their compositions together. Bassist Jason Bouwer is a fairly new band member that has shown he is more than capable of providing a sturdy backbone to the music rhythmically and sonically. His mindful ear and attention to detail when composing his bass parts truly adds a new flavor to our music that we are confident all our current and new fans will enjoy. Kevin Paradis serves as our new official drummer, whom we think fits our sound perfectly. Kevin’s tastefulness and skill behind the drum kit impressed us so much, not just in the way of speed, but in how he accents each beat and riff we throw his way. With this, we finally feel that Aronious has never had a more strong and promising future.

ARONIOUS is:

Brandon Brown - Vocals

Ryan Brumlic - Guitar, Keyboard/Synth, Backing Vox

Nick Weyers - Guitar

Kevin Paradis - Drums

Andrew Kim - Session Bass

Mackenzie Carpenter Signs With G Major Management

With her honey-smoked whisper and lingering delivery, 22-year-old Mackenzie Carpenter has been taking her time establishing a foundation as a songwriter ahead of her first release on The Valory Music Co., “Can’t Nobody,” which debuted last week as a SiriusXM Highway Find. On the heels of that release, the Athens, Ga. native now signs with G Major Management for representation.

Acoustically grounded and leaning into live musicians, she worked with producer Brandon Hood to dial in her sound. “I always wanted to be a country music singer,” the young woman who co-wrote Lily Rose’s “Villain” confesses with a laugh. “There are videos of me at age six, going, ‘I’m Mackenzie and I want to be a singer.’ And that was always the dream.”

“I first discovered Mackenzie when Nicolle Galyon shared a song they had written together and it stopped me in my tracks,” notes G Major Management founder Virginia Bunetta. “The authenticity in her songwriting and the vision she has for herself as an artist is a breath of fresh air. She is beyond her years in both intelligence and chops. We are so excited to welcome her to the G Major family.”

Wistful, but accepting that some things are too good to be true, the lithe songwriter evokes Deana Carter in her prime. With “Can’t Nobody,” the first glimpse at her full-length debut in the works now, she introduces a fresh-faced take on being young, being wise and being alive. Employing a slow-strummed guitar, a quiet high hat against her tumbling alto, Carpenter paints a picture of the picture-perfect Romeo who’s ultimately more heartbreaker than happily ever after:

Can’t nobody write a song like Dolly
Can’t no whiskey get me tipsy like Jack
Can’t nobody raise hell like Dale, comin’ down that last lap
Can’t nobody knock ’em out like Rocky
And nobody rocks ’em like Daisy Duke
Can’t nobody love June like Johnny
Can’t nobody break a heart like you

About Mackenzie Carpenter
Hailing from Athens, Ga., Mackenzie Carpenter is a singer/songwriter whose soulful Country tone was honed by singing in her local church as a kid. She was inspired by her dad to begin writing songs while her two older brothers taught her how to play guitar. Her first cut as a songwriter, “Villain,” landed at No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart. She recently signed to Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co. and her debut single “Can’t Nobody” is playing on SiriusXM’s The Highway. Mackenzie is building a fanbase online and on the road having already opened for Parker McCollum, Craig Campbell, Ryan Hurd and Conner Smith. "If you're a fan of sub-basement guttural vocals, eternal blasting, and straight up devastating riffs, then you're going to love this." - Metal Injection

"The band are experts at using fluctuating dynamics for an extra heavy effect with electronic and orchestral elements to push deathcore forward into the ’20s."

- Metal Sucks

"What makes Brand of Sacrifice's sound so compelling is the insane control they have over the chaos that results from a truly wide range of influences."

- Loudwire

"There’s a renewed scope and ambition to ‘Lifeblood’ that makes it a far more devastating and remarkable experience, ....making it apparent how thick and venomous their sound has become."

About Brand Of Sacrifice

Since 2018, Toronto-based deathcore quintet BRAND OF SACRIFICE have been imprinting their mark on the heavy music scene. Dubbed ‘The Branded Ones,’ the group’s fans joined and marched with them as they tore across the globe in support of debut EP 'The Interstice' and LP statement 'God Hand' which debuted at #20 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums Chart.

Other highlights to a whirlwind cycle for 'God Hand' included a slot on The Summer Slaughter Tour with Carnifex, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless and Lorna Shore, a world tour with tech vets Rings of Saturn, plus a tour with fellow upcoming deathcore titans Shadow of Intent.

BRAND OF SACRIFICE have spread their wings for sophomore LP 'Lifeblood'. With a production even more pummeling, exemplified by laser-sharp structures and a wide-gulf of dynamics, the album takes catchy to another level, with choruses comprising string orchestrations and synths, alongside bludgeoning breakdowns and plenty of guest appearances. Across their releases to date, BRAND OF SACRIFICE have hit 43 million streams and 10 million YouTube views.

The band draws its name from popular anime series Berserk by Kentaro Miura. 'Lifeblood' focuses on the series’ dark horse protagonist Guts, a lone wolf who faces demons both inside and out in a post-apocalyptic world.

Fans at any BRAND OF SACRIFICE show will be familiar with set-closer “Eclipse” and its ending chant of, “Welcome to the new age.” With 'Lifeblood', it’s evident the band have ushered in yet another, even fresher era from which there is no turning back.

LaMacchia Releases Thunderheads Today Via Brooklyn’s Aqualamb Records

The anticipated debut solo album from LaMacchia is out today via Brooklyn imprint Aqualamb Records. Entitled Thunderheads, the nine-track stunner is the debut solo record from the accomplished musician John LaMacchia, known for his work as the guitarist for Brooklyn hardcore/prog-metal group Candiria.

Yet on Thunderheads, LaMacchia pushes the envelope further with a fresh experimental indie rock vibe, featuring layered sonic nuances and male-female vocal interplay that presents a dimensional new palette that is comparable to Massive Attack, Doves and Radiohead.

The first two singles from the album have been led by “Bled Out,” a deep dive through crunchy guitars and free-falling bass, entwined with the candy-sweet vocals blend of LaMacchia and Sabrina Ellie, as well as “Angels Delight,” one of the moodier orchestrations on the album, featuring the lush vocals of Candice Freshko and full of pulsating electronics and evocative guitar that show off the versatile talent of LaMacchia.

See the video for “Angels Delight” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6YFh0Cxigg

Composed and recorded over the course of 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic break, Thunderheads plays like a lullaby for the apocalypse. With healthy doses of self-respect and emotional bravery that serve as a salve for our pandemic-weary heart, it allows listeners to escape a world that is falling apart with music and creativity.

In addition to John LaMacchia, who has recorded all of the guitars, vocals, keyboards and programming for Thunderheads, additional guest contributions come courtesy of Kellii Scott (Failure) on drums, Michael MacIvor (Candiria) on bass guitar, Mario Quintero (Spotlights) on keyboards and Andrea Horne (Vaureen), Candice Freshko and Sabrina Ellie on vocals.

Praise for the album has come from a number of esteemed publications, including the following:

“The music is more closely related to the moody, introspective excursions of Massive Attack or Radiohead than the spazz-metal freakouts of, say, the Dillinger Escape Plan — a mellower sound he previously explored with his long-running side project Spylacopa.” — Revolver

“The album is heavy in its ambient and enveloping energy, with clear themes of devotion, lament, and acceptance, as LaMacchia navigates the complexities of the human soul.” — New Noise

“Very real How To Destroy Angels-type vibe on this one.” — Metal Injection

“Fans of Radiohead, Massive Attack and Doves will feel right at home here with the experimental indie-rock energy.” — Metal Sucks

Thunderheads (Aqualamb Recordings) — the debut record of LaMacchia — plays like the 3am winding down of a night of excess. Thrills and sensual desires wedded to a shadow of sadness and introspection.” — Ghost Cult

As well, LaMacchia has been featured on a number of podcasts talking about the making of the album including Rock N Roll Beer Guy, The New Scene, The Ex-Man With Doc Coyle and more.

To celebrate the new record, LaMacchia will appear at an in-store performance at New York’s Limited To One Record Shop on June 19 and has also announced a series of new tour dates in August where he’ll be playing the new music live:

August 4 @ Lucky 13 (Brooklyn, NY)
August 5 @ Mr Beery’s (Bethpage, NY)
August 7 @ Ortlieb’s (Philadelphia, PA)

Thunderheads is now available at Aqualamb Records’ website with blue and pink vinyl variants, CD and digital options. Each purchase comes with an accompanying 100-page book filled with lush artwork, drawings, lyrics and additional content to get inside the mind of LaMacchia and the creative process.

About LaMacchia
LaMacchia is the new project led by musician and artist John LaMacchia of Brooklyn prog-metal’s legendary Candiria. The result is what we wish post-aughts music would have sounded like; layered with new-wave moodiness, and akin to Autolux, Massive Attack, Doves and Liars, to name a few. And with the musicians he sought out to fulfill that burden, including Kellii Scott on drums (Failure), Michael MacIvor on bass (Candiria), Mario Quintero (Spotlights) and vocalists Sabrina Ellie, Candice Freshko and Andrea Horne (Vaureen).

ONI Release "Heart To Stone" Single & Video

Reveal New Track/Video

"HEART TO STONE"

Listen Here | Watch below

New Album

'LOATHING LIGHT'

Out June 17th via Ironshore Records | Pre-Save Here

Album Co-Produced By Mark Morton and Josh Wilbur

Progressive metalcore project ONI, have today unleashed a brand new track, 'Heart To Stone', taken from their forthcoming studio album, 'Loathing Light.' The collection is set to land on June 17th, via Ironshore Records. 'Heart To Stone' is accompanied by a vampiric official video which you can watch below.

ONI's creative force, Jake Oni tells us,

"Heart To Stone shows a different side of me and is a song that really set me in a new direction for what ONI could be. I love being able to straddle the line of heavy and clean vocals. This is one I can't wait to sing live."

Last month, ONI revealed another album track, 'Secrets', featuring guest vocals from punk icon Iggy Pop and Lamb of Godfrontman, Randy Blythe. The track picked up numerous spins at rock radio across the globe, including the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter. 'Secrets', plus the previously released 'The Lie' and 'War Ender' featuring NYC trap metal outfit, City Morgue all feature on the band's forthcoming second album, which you can pre-order/pre-save here.

With 'Loathing Light', ONI have delivered a body of work that boasts an even bigger sound than their debut. The collection arrives with conviction, passion and depth, swaying wildly back and forth between vast, uplifting anthems and dark, raw confessions. It will go down as a mission statement for the young band, created by singer/lyricist Jake Oni, together with his closest allies, producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Gojira) and Lamb Of God guitarist, Mark Morton.

The result is 10 tracks spanning an emotional gamut, from all-out brutality to introspective desperation. Songs like 'Against My Sins' and 'Heart To Stone' wouldn’t sound totally out of place in a playlist alongside Of Mice & Men or Linkin Park. Yet the bludgeoning technicality - which earned ONI fans while touring with technical heavyweights Gojira - remains, making 'Loathing Light' a diverse and definitive album.

Jake and Mark had previously collaborated on Morton's debut solo album, 'Anesthetic', with Jake executive producing and co-writing the collection's #6 Active Rock radio hit, 'Cross Off' with Morton, Wilbur and the late Chester Bennington.

Jake continues, “Music is such a gift. If you can make music, and people respond to it? I've learned not to take that for granted. Count your blessings because the opportunity to make music is such a great one. We should always be grateful. Because it's the coolest job anyone could do.”

ABOUT ONI:

In modern times, the demonic ONI figure of Japanese Folklore transformed into a personification of protection, often adorning rooftops or leading festive parades to ward off evil. In this same spirit, the crushing aggressive music of ONI, the band, acts as an empowering weapon. ONI casts out the cruel demons of self-hatred, addiction, and whatever destructive obstacles one might face.

The band Metal Injection described as “key figures in paving the way for a new wave of progressive metalcore,” is led by frontman Jake Oni, who summons cathartic anthems from personal pain. In 2014, Jake first conceived of ONI as “the band I never got to see,” recruiting different players with technical skills to make music that shook the foundations of the scene. Comparisons to genre heavyweights like Meshuggah, Between The Buried And Me, and Protest The Hero came swiftly.

ONI released Ironshore on Metal Blade Records in 2016, heralded by No Clean Singing as “maybe the most impressive debut I’ve heard this year.” Songs like 'The Only Cure,' 'Barn Burner,' and 'Eternal Recurrence' whipped audiences into a frenzy as ONI traveled the globe. The band shared club and festival stages with Gojira, Turnstile, Code Orange, and Rob Zombie, among others.

ONI’s 2019 single 'Alone' racked up over 1.3M spins on Spotify alone.

Kenny Chesney Breaks Record, Duets w/ Kelsea Ballerini

When Kenny Chesney got on the highway “with a head full of dreams and a heart full of songs,” he was carrying the torch for every kid just like him. Singing about life in the flyover, capturing the small moments, the real thrills, the revelations, he forged a bond with his audience – ultimately named the No Shoes Nation – Chesney became the only country artist on Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years every year for the last thirteen.

Onstage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium that love was more than apparent – with the audience singing extra choruses of “American Kids,” “Young” and “Anything But Mine.” With perfect weather, the audience helped lift Chesney to a new high in what has been a summer of pitch perfect shows; giving the audience back the innocence and beauty of a simpler world before touring stadiums became an impossible proposition.

Bringing out Old Dominion’s Matt Ramsey and Brad Tursi for “Save It For A Rainy Day,” it was a master class in maintaining one’s perspective on those days that try people’s reality. But the real emotional center came when Kelsea Ballerini, dressed in jeans, a red t-shirt and sparkle high tops, was introduced to sing their No. 1 hit “Half of My Hometown.”

Having grown up in the same part of Tennessee, Chesney told the audience, “I grew up in East Tennessee and she grew up in East Tennessee. We drove down some of the same roads together. We went to a lot of the same places to eat with our families. We listened to the same radio station, and listened to a lot of people tell us we couldn’t do certain things that have dreamed of all our life...”

For Ballerini, the Country Music Association Vocal Event and Video of the Year Award winner spoke to the realities one must transcend to get where she had dreamed of since she was a child. Though people don’t always understand or buy in, there is only love for where you come from. Partway through the second verse, she broke down sobbing – and as Chesney pulled her into a hug, the audience burst into applause.

Back on the road after three years unable to play stadiums, Chesney has found a new gear as an entertainer: bringing passion and recognition of how actual people live into a much more powerful truth. “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” “Don’t Happen Twice,” “Pirate Flag” and “Beer In Mexico” offered an exuberance that rippled through the audience during the two-plus hour set.

“Being here in Nashville where so many dreams came true, seeing Kelsea on the verge of making the same kind of mark, it made me realize how strong this connection is. It’s not just fun or hooks or guitar riffs, it’s one massive heart that we all share,” Chesney said after the show. “To have that is the greatest gift, greatest reason for doing this – and tonight really hit me in the soul.”

Here And Now 2022 Tour is presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum and fueled by MARATHON.

A FITTING REVENGE Release Official Music Video for “The Overthrow“!

Rochester, NY based Heavy Melodic Metal band A FITTING REVENGE has released the official music video for their single, "The Overthrow." Produced by Jack Daniels (WAR OF AGES) with SickTones Studio (Life By Death, Fleshkiller), with mastering by John Douglass (Nile, Carnifex, Amon Amarth Records), "The Overthrow" is off of the band's upcoming album, Omnipresence, due to release July 1, 2022.

"I am beyond excited to let this album loose on the ears of our listeners and metal fans all over the world. We took a scalpel to our sound, recording process, and technique as well as breaking our influences down to the bare atoms to deliver something that we could listen to on repeat. If the songs didn't make us want to destroy our furniture, they were executed from the track list. Fans of melodic death metal, catchy choruses, screamed vocals, shredding, and sci-fi lyrics will absolutely devour this record. - Ledwing (Guitar, Vocals)

Hank Williams Jr. Premieres Video for "Jesus, Won't You Come By Here" from RICH WHITE HONKY BLUES with CMT

With his highly anticipated album Rich White Honky Blues set for June 17 via Easy Eye Sound, Hank Williams Jr. debuts the closing track of the 12-song collection produced by Dan Auerbach with Lightnin’ Hopkins’ “Jesus, Won’t You Come By Here.” The official music video premieres today, May 26, with CMT and CMT.com.

With Kenny Brown’s electric guitar, Auerbach on dobro and Bobbie Wood’s churchy piano and organ, the Country Music Hall of Famer sings with a robust conviction that suggests the larger than life amongst us transcend mortal limitations.

Directed by Tim Hardiman, the official music video features footage from the recording sessions of Rich White Honky Blues at Nashville’s Easy Eye Sound studio, interspersed with scenes of peaceful small-town living.

“My brother Dan, the band and I did our thing in the studio for a few days, and this video gives fans a look behind-the-scenes...in a room together, just playing the blues,” Williams shared with CMT.com. “The other clips were shot in a small town in Mississippi – just perfect for an old southern hymnal. It's a reminder to slow down and enjoy ourselves.”

“This song perfectly encapsulates what it was like to make this record,” adds producer Auerbach. “You can hear us hanging out before we slowly fumble our way into the song. It’s a very raw and real moment in the studio caught on tape.”

“Jesus, Won’t You Come by Here” follows the release of “Georgia Women,” as Tennessean shared that with the “cover of blues legend, R.L. Burnside’s 25-year-old classic, Bocephus achieves tapping into the spirit of his father's iconic teacher Rufus ‘Tee Tot’ Payne, and a century of other blues legends.”

Released alongside the announcement of Rich White Honky Blues, album opener “.44 Special Blues” (Williams’ take on Robert Johnson’s “32-20 Blues”) was dubbed by Rolling Stone as “a lonesome, acoustic blues number,” while Consequence shared “the spry solo track digs into the County Music Hall of Famer’s bluesy roots, with its vintage-style refrain, ‘Baby where’d you stay last night,’ pairing perfectly to his well-worn wail.”

More than the swaggering singles, roughneck fantasy videos or relentless sense of blue-collar boogie, at his core, the 72-year-old legend is a bluesman. With Rich White Honky Blues, Williams makes good on his legacy with a turpentine and rough wood take on the hill country blues that informed his father’s raw-boned style of putting his pain out there. GRAMMY-winning Producer of the Year Auerbach recorded the set live, with a dozen songs reprising classics from Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Burnside, Muddy Waters, Big Joe Turner and a few from Bocephus himself.

About Hank Williams Jr.
Hank Williams Jr.’s extremely impressive resume has spawned 70 million albums sold worldwide, six PLATINUM albums, 20 GOLD albums, 13 No. 1 albums and 10 No. 1 singles. Marking 58 years since his first album in 1964, Williams Jr. is preparing to release his 57th studio album Rich White Honky Blues on June 17 via Easy Eye Sound, featuring 12 songs recorded over a three-day period by GRAMMY-winning producer Dan Auerbach. 2016’s It’s About Time (Nash Icon Records) included the history-making “Are You Ready for the Country,” as well as tunes “Dress Like an Icon,” “Just Call Me Hank,” “It’s About Time” and “The Party’s On” in addition to re-recorded versions of classics “Mental Revenge” and “Born to Boogie” with Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore and Brad Paisley on guitar. Following It’s About Time, Williams Jr. has released several compilations, including All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over: Great Tailgating Songs, A Country Boy Can Survive (Box Set), Hank Jr. Sings Hank Sr. and 35 Biggest Hits. He continues to add accolades to an extremely impressive resume, which includes ACM Entertainer of the Year, CMA Entertainer of the Year and BMI Icon, in addition to a GRAMMY win and coveted inductions into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame.

CONJURER - Release Video For New Single "Cracks In The Pyre"

The future of British metal lies in safe hands with CONJURER, who will release their long-awaited new album Páthos on 1st July 2022 via Nuclear Blast Records.

A triumphant return from CONJURER following their world-renowned 2018 debut Mire, Páthos is a band flexing their creative muscles, deepening their approach and thought, and expanding their sound.

Today, CONJURER deliver their breath-taking 3rd single "Cracks In The Pyre".

CONJURER comment:
"Cracks is probably the biggest departure from our previously established sound - the working title was 'Ballad'. For me this is the most affecting track on Páthos, I connect more with it on every listen, and I think it opens up a new element to the band's identity that will be important moving forwards. The video reflects the themes of the track and was captured on the Scottish coast: the breathtaking landscapes evoke the atmosphere the song is trying to capture, and we're blown away by the finished piece."

PRE-ORDER OR PRE-SAVE Páthos & STREAM 'Cracks In The Pyre' HERE: https://conjurer.bfan.link/cracks-in-the-pyre.ema

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR 'Cracks In The Pyre' below.

Páthos is not an album for the half-hearted or faint-hearted. Elements of Sumac, Gojira, old MASTODON, and OATHBREAKER, the new record is a multi-layered beast – sludge, death, doom, black metal, and hardcore influences clash and collide throughout, all masterfully finished by Will Putney’s exquisite mix and master.

The fifty-minute runtime of Páthos is not without its moments of the sublime, with post-metal nods to CONJURER and PIJN’s acclaimed Curse These Metal Hands project throughout. That a band can be at once so triumphantly beautiful and gut-punchingly heavy is testament to CONJURER’s quality, and a surefire sign of their future longevity at the top of Britain’s heavy music scene.

San Francisco soulful rock outfit SEAL PARTY present 'Maison', previewing debut album 'MMXXII'

"A dynamic duo where their soul music talents can shine when given the opportunity to create for themselves. Their style can be compared to greats of the genre, such as Sly and the Family Stone, Dexys Midnight Runners, and The Isley Brothers" ~ Vents Magazine

"The uplifting lyrics combined with the sweet harmonies are smooth and calming... a three-minute escape from stressful realities to reflect on life’s silver linings and appreciate every minute despite ups and downs" ~ Music-News.com

Alternative art-rock outfit Seal Party presents their new single 'Maison', a rich and captivating taster of their debut album 'MMXXII', which will be released this summer. An appearance by R&B organ wizard Chris Rob (Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Anita Baker, Talib Kweli) brings 'Maison' to a soulful, timeless place.

Filled with improvisation, fury, and lyrical beauty, 'MMXXII' evokes ‘70s soul, rock and R&B while maintaining a raw and exploratory approach. This eclectic work meshes unusual songwriting and musicianship with a style that is at once playful and rebellious.

As a songwriting-production duo, Chris McGrew (drums/production) and Kevin Seal (keyboards/vocals) formed Seal Party after many years of helping other artists realize their visions. On their debut record, these studio veterans let their own voices come to the fore, revealing their fury and beauty, both rock and groove. Epic melodies soar over tasty chords to tell their stories.

Surprising sounds come when sidemen step into the spotlight. Habitually session musicians, quarantine culture gave McGrew and Seal access to an empty recording studio -- namely Studio C of Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco (AKA Wally’s HydeOut), in the room of the former Wally Heider Studios, where artists ranging from the Dead Kennedys to the Grateful Dead to Herbie Hancock recorded some of their most legendary sides.

Recorded by Liam Wesley Craddock and Chris McGrew, the 'MMXXII' album was mixed by McGrew and Jaimeson Durr (Sammy Haggar, Joe Satriani, Hope Sandoval).

Seizing the moment, they invited world-class horn players, violinists, organists and vocalists, each equipped with hand sanitizer and throwing their best ideas into the mix. 'MMXXII' features an all-star cast of 22 collaborators, including blues and RnB royalty like Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer, Patti LaBelle) and Keyon Harrold (D’Angelo, Maxwell), punk icon Larry Boothroyd (Jello Biafra & the Guantanamo School of Medicine, Victims Family), bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Fantastic Negrito), Ben Misterka (Collectivity), saxophonist Kenneth Whalum (Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Maxwell, Justin Timberlake), trumpeter Rich Armstrong (Spoon, Boz Scaggs, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Thomas Dolby), guitarist Jonnie Axtell (Psychefunkapus, Dee Snider, Tone Loc) and saxophonist Daniel Casares (Atta Kid, Jazz Mafia, the New Mastersounds).

The result is 'MMXXII' - a continuous, expansive, engrossing album that is eclectic and beautiful. Decades of studio magic seep into the tracks, like the casks flavoring the Scotch. Stretching across genre boundaries, jazz luminaries and punk stalwarts join together to create a series of unique songs.

As of June 10, the 'Maison' single will be available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where the full 'MMXXII' album can also be pre-ordered. On August 5, the digital version will be released via New Age Distribution and the CD released by X Racer Productions. The album release party will take place on June 30 at San Francisco's Rickshaw Stop. Tickets can be obtained at https://bit.ly/3PHCUML.

DECAPITATED - Cancer Culture Out Now!

Today, the band is proud to release their 8th studio album, Cancer Culture.

It's the most versatile album the band has released so far, surprising fans with elements they have never used before, such as guest appearances on vocals.

Again, Jarek Szubrycht (Carnival is Forever) has written amazing lyrics about the disproportion between the dreams, ambitions, and aspirations of humanity.  The leading engineer of the album was Tomasz Zed Zalewski (Anticult), David Castillo was responsible for mixing the album, and Ted Jensen for the final touch for mastering. The amazing cover artwork comes from Fabio Timpanaro, an Italian artist whose art perfectly describes what the band wanted to tell through visual art.

Vogg states the following: "Cancer Culture is out today!!! We've been waiting for this special moment for a very long time.
It seems like ages, five years since our latest release Anticult, sixteen months of working on the Cancer Culture album, and waiting almost a year to be able to share it with you finally.
You can expect to hear various tracks, outstanding production, fantastic artwork, and of course, as always, something you have not likely to hear on the DECAPITATED album before.
To celebrate this day, we decided to release a video for 'Iconoclast'. For this occasion, we returned to the studio where all had started, where we recorded drums for the album, to feel an incredible energy and cool vibes again while making the video.
As you probably know, we have an exceptional guest, the metal legend and friend of ours, one and only
Robb Flynn. His part of the track became one of my favorite parts of this album.
It's a huge honor to have Robb in this project, and I hope you will dig a song. It's a different song, not blasting madness as most of the songs on this record but still powerful, fast, and crushing.
We are giving you today the
Cancer Culture. DECAPITATED is back, strong and alive! From pain to strength!
Enjoy!~ Vogg"

And to celebrate the release, they have yet another surprise in store for their fans. Robb Flynn from mighty MACHINE HEAD contributes a hauntingly beautiful vocal to the track“Iconoclast”

Flynn
comments on the collaboration: "When Vogg asked me to sing on this DECAPITATED track, I was honored to jam with pioneers and insane musicians. I was blown away by this incredible melodic section in the middle when he sent the track. When he told me the song was called 'Iconoclast', I knew exactly what needed to be said.  An Iconoclast is 'a destroyer of images used in religious worship'.  This song had to address the hateful, growing fascist Evangelical movement growing around the world. The cruel men who wish to hide their cruelty under a cloak of faith and zealotry."

LONG DISTANCE CALLING RELEASE THEIR NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO, "GIANTS LEAVING"

After the first single “Kamilah”, LONG DISTANCE CALLING will release the second single “Giants Leaving” on 05.27.22, from their album “Eraser”, which will be released on August 26th.

With a concise and elegant rush of sound, an irresistible four-to-the-floor beat and some of the sharpest hooks in LONG DISTANCE CALLING's history, “Giants Leaving” is dedicated to the albatross.

"The song is dedicated to the albatross, unfortunately, one of many species facing extinction. The albatross is a beautiful and majestic creature, soaring across the skies with the largest wingspan in nature. The albatross is one of a few monogamous species, making it more challenging to mate in an increasingly dangerous and overfished environment, decreasing food availability and ongoing pollution." – Long Distance Calling

Preorder “ERASER” here: https://ldc.lnk.to/EraserAlbum ;

The eighth album of LONG DISTANCE CALLING Eraser is a direct and intimate tribute to the gradual erosion of nature by man. Thus, the band has dedicated the album to the endangered species of the world, with each song representing a particular creature threatened with extinction.

Produced by Costin Chioreanu and similar to the first video, "Kamilah", the 3-minute video to "Giants Leaving" makes use of creative animations that play with different facets of the albatross. It premieres at 9 AM EST.

Watch the official video for "GIANTS LEAVING" below.

BLIND GUARDIAN - Evoke The God Machine: New Album On September 2nd!

A distant mechanical sound is getting louder from afar and heralds the arrival of exciting happenings - throwing their shadows on this fateful day of September 2nd. It's the day that the metal legend BLIND GUARDIAN will release their eleventh studio album The God Machine via Nuclear Blast and erects a new monument of their outstanding career.

Hansi Kürsch comments, “We didn't want to rehash our qualities from 1995, but didn't want to continue down this complex path forever either. The God Machine is a new beginning for us. We’ve set a new course and gone back to certain things that we’ve neglected a bit on the last few albums.”

The God Machine marks another pinnacle in BLIND GUARDIAN’s impressive discography by not attempting to pretend it is still the nineties yet instead successfully relying on the muscle memory of this period. It is a gripping, addictive, and brilliantly arranged album in the tradition of records with which BLIND GUARDIAN reached for the stars in the 90s; yet, by no means, is it a throwback. The God Machine represents the heart and soul of BLIND GUARDIAN’s timeless metal in the here and now, unifying the bards’ past, present, and future secrets in one consistent, well-thought-out masterpiece.

Pre-order the album here: http://nblast.de/BG-TheGodMachine

Together with the announcement, the band shares a video for their new raging single 'Blood Of The Elves', a galloping anthem that is destined to become a live staple.
Watch the video below.

Singer Hansi Kürsch comments:
"'Blood Of The Elves' features a pretty heavy side that the avid fan of BLIND GUARDIAN hopefully enjoys. More than enjoys, I'd guess. Instrumentally, the track has some kind of an early nineties appeal that blends well into the vocal parts of the opera/twist era and catapults both epochs into a new era for the band. A perfect hybrid. The chorus has some very strong sing-along vibes, despite its complexity. What else do you need? Inspired by the 'The Witcher' computer game series, the lyrics even reinforce the power of this banger and the clip by Dirk Behlau fits perfectly to the whole setting. Let me tell you: The God Machine has even more to offer. And that's no promise - that's the ultimate truth. Stay tuned."

About BLIND GUARDIAN
In 1992, BLIND GUARDIAN released Somewhere Far Beyond, a legendary milestone in German speed metal. Three decades later, their latest offering, The God Machine, shows how to awaken the fury of youth to magical new life. As if they had paid a long overdue visit to the numerous highlights of their career, BLIND GUARDIAN appears to be in touch with the ghosts of their own past more than ever. "We’ve picked up a lot from our own history and built a new era upon this foundation," vocalist Hansi Kürsch explains. This new era begins right now. Seven years after Beyond The Red Mirror and almost three after the orchestral opus Blind Guardian Twilight Orchestra: Legacy of the Dark Lands, Hansi Kürsch (vocals), André Olbrich (lead guitar, acoustic guitar, rhythm guitar), Marcus Siepen (rhythm guitar and acoustic guitar) and Frederik Ehmke(drums) invite you to their personal twilight of the gods. "After ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’ and ‘Legacy Of The DarkLands’, we knew we couldn't push the orchestral side of BlindGuardian any further,” Kürsch says. The new directive while creating The God Machine was fairly straightforward but ever so welcome: "Less orchestration, more punch." In 2022, the opulent arrangements and powerful choirs still exist; yet they are used in a much more selective, focussed, and resonant manner.
This link is overtly present on the stunning, apocalyptic cover art by American fantasy icon Peter Mohrbacher, which teases a panopticon of fantastic tales and rather bleak prospects.“You have to look with a magnifying glass to find some hope on the album. But it's there," smiles Hansi Kürsch. "My lyrics have several levels. Some of them even I can only explore much later." Perhaps The God Machine is his most personal album since Somewhere Far Beyond.

As Frayle continues getting the masses ready for the onslaught of their anticipated new album Skin & Sorrow, out July 8 via Aqualamb Records, today the Cleveland-based ritual doom metal act releases a new single “Treacle & Revenge” accompanied by a bewitching video full of beautifully cryptic cues and hazy effects that will appeal to both goth and horror fans.

Starting off with the sludgy guitars of Sean Bilovecky, frontwoman Gwyn Strang begins with an ethereal whisper before devolving into a full-on tempered scream that accentuates the song with an intense energy that beckons the audience to listen in closely.

Says Strang, “’Treacle and Revenge’ is about the heartbreak and pain caused by those who attempt to deceive us. We have all experienced that person who whispers sweet nothings only to find that their words meant nothing.”

The new album Skin & Sorrow was fully written and recorded by Bilovecky and Strang from the third floor of their Cleveland home, on the edge of town, surrounded by ancient lakes and woods that echo the howls of coyotes. The band is rounded out live by Jason Knotek on bass and Jon Vinson on drums.

The record follows Frayle’s groundbreaking debut 1692 in 2020 that further introduced the world to their penchant for creating “lullabies over chaos.” Tracks feature Strang’s ambient vocals laid over the voluminous instrumentals of Bilovecky (formerly of Disengage), morphing into disturbing harmonies best described as music for the night sky and are poised to dominate the doom circuit.

In addition to haunting original tracks that push heavy music into new dimensions (an inspirational mix of Sleep and Portishead, or Black Sabbath and Bjork), the duo is known for their cryptic covers including takes on Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire” and Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.”

Their passioned creations have caught the attention of Revolver who named the band “one of the five artists you need to know in April” as seen HERE, who called their previously-released title track “eerie and ethereal for its first half, but slowly lets more crunchy fuzz into the fold that builds up to a detonating finish with gobs of spiritual atmosphere.”

Recently, Frayle signed to The Oracle Management, now part of the roster that also includes Cradle of Filth, DevilDriver, Jinjer, Wednesday 13 and more hard rock and metal acts all represented by co-owners of The Oracle Management Dez and Anahstasia Fafara.

In one of the first orders of business, Frayle has joined on for Cradle of Filth’s “Existence Is Futile” Headlining Tour, on the off dates from COF’s trek with Danzig. Running through June 11, it hits 17 cities across North America – full details are below.

Timo Rotten comments: "This song was written in the midst of the pandemic at a low point in our lives. We had just lost one of the most important foundations of our sanity: playing live music. That was what had kept us sane all these years, and suddenly it was gone. There's a lot of longing and pain in 'I Want To Be Whole Again', and I'm sure you can hear that clearly.”
