Eli Young Band Keeps the LOVE TALKING with New Album on June 3

ELI YOUNG BAND KEEPS THE LOVE TALKING WITH NEW ALBUM ON JUNE 3; PRE-ORDER NOW

Title Track Continues to Impress at Country Radio, Across Streaming Platforms & With Fans on the Road

Break Up In A Bar” Joins “Lucky For Me” & Platinum-Certified No. 1 “Love Ain’t

As current single Love Talkingcontinues to impress program directors, playlist managers and fans alike, multi-Platinum hitmakers Eli Young Band reveal plans for a full-length album of the same name. Love Talking (The Valory Music Co.) is set for release Friday, June 3 and is available for pre-order HERE along with brand-new song Break Up In A Bar.”

“We really wanted to find the positivity in what we got out of the last two years, so that was one of the main goals for this album,” notes lead singer Mike Eli. “There was a lot of unknown that was written into some of the music we created during that time, but we all lived it so deeply; we wanted to offer something uplifting with our music.”

“Break Up In A Bar,” a three-and-a-half-minute raucous response to saying goodbye to a relationship, offers that positive twist on a typically heavy topic while serving as one of the only outside cuts on the album, having been penned by Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson and Hunter Phelps.

“Right away, you could just hear the melody in the song from the top and know, ‘okay, this is a special one.’ And the spin – it’s one of those songs lyrically you just wish you would have thought of,” reflects Eli, who crafted 7 of the 9 tracks. “We know that that’s always the first rule – if you hear something that you wish you would have thought of it’s worth that second listen. We just started playing it in our live show, and it’s funny to see the audience because they want to know it so bad… That’s a good sign.”

Overall, Eli found himself writing more than 150 songs in the time since the GRAMMY-nominated band released This Is Eli Young Band: Greatest Hits in 2019. On Love Talking, he joins forces with Nashville stalwarts Jimmy Robbins, Laura Veltz, Josh Osborne, Jon Nite and more. Also finding a home on the album is EYB’s Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “Love Ain’t,” whose songwriting credits include Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally, plus preview track “Lucky For Me.”

The musical band of brothers – Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson – lay a strong foundation for today’s arrival of “Break Up In A Bar” as current single “Love Talking” earns early praise.

American Songwriter praised its “silky smooth” delivery showcasing “the fruits of the band’s recent creative explosion.” All Access concurred, “In this two minute and 50 second smash, lead singer Mike Eli’s voice embraces listeners like a warm hug,” with MusicRow remarking that “the echo gives the sound some extra juice, and the band is as proficient as ever.” In addition, Billboard featured the single as a “Makin’ Tracks” standout and named the song among the best of the week upon its release, noting that “this ultra-romantic new release from the group swirls with an irresistible melody and propulsive rhythm.”

Fans will have a chance to see the new music performed live alongside their multi-decade catalog of acclaimed hits, as EYB returns to the road for their 52-city Love Talking Tour.

The trailblazing group has come a long way since their formation in 2000 at the University of North Texas, with the multi-Platinum hitmakers’ dynamic career thus far producing four chart-topping singles; 3x Platinum “Crazy Girl,” 2x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” and Platinum “Love Ain’t” and “Drunk Last Night.”

BASTARD Release Lyric Video for "The Possession"

New Album 'Rotten Blood' Out Today!

St. Louis-based blackened thrash metal outfit BASTARD have released a new lyric video for their track "The Possession". The gruesome track is off the band's new studio album, 'Rotten Blood', which is out TODAY (March 11) via Distortion Music Group, a new label started by Kataklysm vocalist Maurizio Iacono.

LISTEN TO 'Rotten Blood' HERE!

About BASTARD:

Spawning from the ashes of Harkonin in 2010, members Jason Barron and Scott Fogelbach carried on with their newest whiskey-and-satan-fueled blackened thrash outfit, BASTARD. In 2012 the band released their first demos recorded by former-Harkonin guitarist, Matt Coyle. Following up in 2015 BASTARD recorded a 5 song covers EP entitled “Alcoholocaust” and shortly after recorded their first full-length album “Hades Command” with Encapsulated Studios engineer, Gabe Usery. Going through multiple lineup changes between 2015-2019 the band finalized a steady crew comprising of local shredders Jason Asberry of STORMRULER and Tim Kutterer of Lightning Wolf. BASTARD has since written a new record entitled “ROTTEN BLOOD” once again recorded by Gabe Usery at Encapsulated Studios filled with devilish riffs and a blackened thrash assault that heralds to the hounds of hell. Blending the classic sound of traditional Heavy Metal with the sounds of the blackened European thrash of the 80s & 90s, BASTARD is taking absolutely no prisoners with this release.

BASTARD Lineup:

Jason Barron - Vocals

Scott Fogelbach - Guitar

Jason Asberry - Drums

Tim Kutterer - Bass

Platinum-selling country music hitmaker Michael Ray announces that he has signed with MusicFX.io (“MusicFX” or the “Company”), a leading digital community connecting artists to their fan bases through NFTs, to produce an exclusive NFT commemorating his first multi-week No. 1 with “Whiskey And Rain.”

The Michael Ray No. 1 Country Music Airplay Commemorative NFT will be strictly limited to just 100 tokens for fans to enjoy this achievement alongside Michael. The NFT will drop exclusively on MusicFX on March 22, 2022.

“I’m so thankful for my grandfather inspiring me to do what I love most in life because without that I wouldn’t be doing what I do,” shares Ray. “But, in the last five years, the successes I’ve had, would never have been possible without the fans. I want to thank them, and hope they enjoy the content I put out through MusicFX, as much as I’ve enjoyed making it.”

“We’re absolutely thrilled Michael has chosen MusicFX,” adds Billie-Jo Aasen, co-head of MusicFX. “He’s worked really hard to help us achieve something special with our second NFT. We can’t wait to get working on his next one and continue building the outstanding relationship he has with his fans.”

With four No. 1 hits, including RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” and RIAA Gold-certified “Whiskey And Rain,” Florida-native Michael Ray has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents and over 100 million YouTube views.

The Michael Ray No. 1 Country Music Airplay Commemorative NFT is the second NFT line to be offered exclusively through MusicFX, following the hugely successful Gold Chain Cowboy Fan Club: Black Card NFT produced in partnership with Parker McCollum.

About Michael Ray
For Michael Ray, music is his grandfather singing and sweating on a rural Florida stage. It’s the childhood refuge he found during the pain of his parent's divorce. It’s family and stories, history and hope. Ray says music saved him, but it did even more: Music made him. In five short years, Ray has built an impressive foundation: four No. 1 songs – RIAA Platinum-certified “Think a Little Less,” RIAA Gold-certified “Kiss You in the Morning,” RIAA Gold-certified “One That Got Away” and RIAA Gold-certified “Whiskey And Rain” – plus “Get to You” and “Her World or Mine,” brings his tally to five Gold-certified singles. Ray has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, over 100 million YouTube views, and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry over 60 times. Now, two hit albums into that all-too-rare blend of critically acclaimed and commercially successful career, Ray has released Higher Education, a seven-song collection produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer Ross Copperman. Proof that heartbroken wallowing can feel good if it swings, “Whiskey And Rain” marked his first multi-week No. 1, cementing Ray as the ideal bridge between vintage country cool and modern country’s best sounds. THE BIG DEAL ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM "FIRST BITE"

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of the debut album from an extremely talented melodic hard rock band from Serbia, The Big Deal. Their debut album, “First Bite” will be released on May 13, 2022. Today, the band has released a new single and video from the album, 'Sensational'. Watch the video below."First Bite" is an absolute tour de force showcasing the outstanding talents of the individual members over the course of 11 tracks of infectious, hooky, memorable songs.

Pre-order/save "FIRST BITE" HERE: https://orcd.co/firstbite

The Big Deal, featuring two outstanding vocalists, Ana Nikolic and Nevena Brankovic (who is also a highly skilled keyboard/piano player), offers up a catchy, driving sound that will appeal to a wide swath of rock and metal fans from lovers of melodic rock and hard rock to symphonic and power metal fans. Guitarist Srdjan Brankovic, the band's producer and main songwriter, may be recognized by some fans from his work with progressive metallers Alogia, of whom drummer Marko Milojevic is also a member.

The Big Deal first came together when guitarist, composer, and producer Srdjan and keyboardist Nevena, who is an academic pianist and singer, started working with singer Ana Nikolic. Ana had spent the past few years fronting local bands, but after meeting Srdjan and Nevena, they started collaborating in the studio together on some songs. While working on some new ideas, Srdjan thought it would be interesting to include Ana's vocals in addition to Nevena's in the recordings they were working on. After a couple of songs were finished, they were overjoyed with the results and thus some of The Big Deal's first demos were born. These would eventually morph into the music that was presented to Frontiers and ultimately got them signed. To round out the lineup, the band brought in drummer Marko Milojevic and later, Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints) on bass (who was instrumental in introducing the band to the label).

Both Srdjan and Marko are members of the most successful Serbian progressive metal band, Alogia. Throughout his career, Srdjan has played on many festivals and tours, recorded and collaborated on countless studio and live albums, and opened for some well-known bands such as Whitesnake, Ian Paice, Apocalyptica, Savatage, and more. He was also a member of Michael Matijevic's live band in Bulgaria. On his “Expedition Delta” and “Alogia” albums, he collaborated with names such as Tim 'Ripper' Owens, Mark Boals, Erik Norlander, Gary Wehrkamp, Fabio Lione, and Hansi Kursch, among others.

To introduce themselves to the world, over the course of 2021, the band released covers of songs by Europe, Nightwish, and ABBA as a precursor to debuting their original music. See those videos below.

DEATHWHITE Reveals New Album, Shares Music Video for New Single

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE will be releasing their third full-length, 'Grey Everlasting,' on June 10 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the devastating first single, "Earthtomb," along with a music video! The heart-wrenching video, which was created by Guilherme Henriques, can be found below.

DEATHWHITE comments:

“It is our abundant pleasure to share the video for ‘Earthtomb,’ the first single from 'Grey Everlasting.' The immaculate Guilherme Henriques shot the clip in Aceredo, Spain and Porto, Portugal. Unfortunately, the song and video are a rather timely and direct reflection of the times we live when unchecked power, deception, gas-lighting and flat-out lies are used as tools to wreak havoc upon humanity and sow discord.

"‘Earthtomb’ was written as our observation — and inherent wish — that these individuals succumb to their misdeeds. What is happening in Ukraine at the moment has, for the members of Deathwhite, made this song more prescient than ever. Our hearts go out to those impacted by this utter tragedy.”

'Grey Everlasting' will follow up 2020's critically-acclaimed 'Grave Image,' which was named one of the best metal albums of 2020 by Bravewords, Heavy New York, Dead Rhetoric, A&P Reacts, Teeth of the Divine, and Pandemonium TV.

'Grey Everlasting' is available to pre-order HERE and can be pre-saved to your streaming library HERE.

Anno 2022 marks the tenth year of Deathwhite. The ensuing years have borne witness to the continued, if not expedited unraveling of humankind and the world in which it so harshly occupies. The 2020 global pandemic — an event of unimaginable magnitude — has amplified the worst in us. Cruelty, dishonesty, greed, obfuscation and selfishness are celebrated, worn as a badge of pride as the world burns figuratively and literally. Such was the environment of discontent and isolation that enigmatic dark metal quartet Deathwhite concocted its third full-length studio offering, Grey Everlasting. Utilizing the same team as 2020’s Grave Image, Grey Everlasting was recorded during May and June 2021 at Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer. Vocals were again tracked at Erik Rutan’s (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) Mana Recording under the guidance of engineer Art Paiz. Legendary Swedish producer and engineer Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale) is responsible for the mastering, while French visual artist Jérôme Comentale reprised his role for the fourth consecutive Deathwhite release.

Written just as the global lockdown began in March 2020, Grey Everlasting is an album of diversity and depth. While the band’s clean vocal delivery set to the backdrop of unyielding dark metal remains ever-present, some new wrinkles are added to Deathwhite’s sound. Extreme metal elements — a reference to the band’s musical background — as well as heavy keyboard orchestration have been brought to the fore. The album also treads more atmospheric paths while staying true to Deathwhite’s melodic underpinnings. “We have grown accustomed to putting our songs under a microscope, but this album demanded an even deeper examination of where we wanted to go,” said the band collectively. “There was little interest in re-writing Grave Image; instead, we had to carve new paths and challenge ourselves musically. We were unafraid to try new things, so, accordingly, the creation process was occasionally arduous. However, it made the result something we are incredibly proud of.”

Lyrically, Grey Everlasting balances Deathwhite’s harsh view of the world with themes of self-preservation. It is a rare glimmer of light from a band that has regularly addressed the ills of humankind on previous albums. However, the onset of the global pandemic made Grey Everlasting an appropriate title. “The album’s lyrics were assembled throughout the pandemic, events that also included strife on the political and human rights front,” said the band. “As disheartening as these events were, they were hardly a surprise. The human race has had more than enough time to figure out how to coexist properly, but still cannot get it right…and it never will.”

ENVY OF NONE, PREMIERE THEIR NEW VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE “LOOK INSIDE”

ENVY OF NONE, PREMIERE THEIR NEW VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE “LOOK INSIDE”
TAKEN FROM THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘ENVY OF NONE’
DUE FOR RELEASE ON KSCOPE ON APRIL 8TH

NEW VIDEO & SINGLE FOR “LOOK INSIDE” – Watch below.

PRE-ORDER ‘ENVY OF NONE’ HERE (https://eon.lnk.to/EnvyOfNone)

Following the announcement of their debut, self titled, album and first single “Liar” (https://youtu.be/vV-IZRh22mo ), Envy Of None, the new project featuring Alex Lifeson (Rush), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch), Alfio Annibalini and singer Maiah Wynne have revealed “Look Inside”, their next single and video featuring Envy Of None singer Maiah Wynne and directed by “Jaden D. (www.jaden-d.com ).

“Maiah’s lilting vocal performance was an inspiration” – Alex Lifeson.

Andy Curran, having a “soft spot” for “Look Inside” recalls the song’s creation “I was in my studio late one night, headphones on… a few glasses of red wine deep and thought, wouldn’t it be fun to pull out my bass, blow up the tone, double it and play to a really messed up super slow drum groove. It’s got a real stoner vibe to it. That’s what happens when you mix wine and bass… Mission accomplished!".

With the rough bed track and song name sent to vocalist Maiah Wynne her initial thoughts were one of introspection “Sometimes you have to shine a light on all the ugliest pieces of yourself in order to truly change, and you have to keep slaying that dragon over and over again. It is a continuous, slow and painful process. The guitars and bass really drive the grittiness and heaviness I felt when I wrote those lyrics. It feels like an all-encompassing sludge, and that is what I absolutely love about this song.”

Alex Lifeson, as one of the founding members of Rush, throughout his career has been able to explore more musical ground than just about any other guitar player out there – taking rock to new progressive heights throughout the decades and always in the most wildly inventive of ways. His influence can be heard on countless bands around the world, from indie shoegaze and math rock to heavy metal and beyond. Over the last few years Lifeson has been focusing on a new project that, no matter how well-acquainted you are with his discography, will undoubtedly shatter all seeds of expectation and blow the mind. That project is Envy Of None.

Envy Of None also feature Coney Hatch founder/bassist Andy Curran, accomplished producer and engineer Alfio Annibalini and singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne, and their self-titled debutalbum will be released on April 8 via Kscope. Its 11 tracks – which ricochet between various shades of alternative, experimental and synth rock – throw surprises at every turn, twisting dark melodies against contemporary pop hooks. Lifeson himself is proudly aware of how little of it crosses over with the band that made him famous.

The album’s first single to be released, Liar, is a track full of industrial beats, driving fuzz bass and atmospheric guitars that concoct a seductive swirl, thrilling in ways closer to the darker art rock of Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle than anything these musicians have been known for prior.

“Maiah became my muse,” continues Alex Lifeson. “She was able to bring this whole new ethereal thing through her sense of melody on tracks like Liar and Look Inside. After hearing her vocals on Never Said I Love You, I felt so excited. I’ve never had that kind of inspiration working with another musician. When we say she’s special, it’s because she’s really fucking special!”

The album closer, Western Sunset, which was penned by Alex Lifeson in tribute to his dear friend Neil Peart. It’s a highly emotive piece of music to honour a man deeply missed by the rock community at large, and even more so by those who were lucky enough to know him. “I visited Neil when he was ill,” says Alex Lifeson. “I was on his balcony watching the sunset and found inspiration. There’s a finality about a sunset that kinda stayed with me throughout the whole process. It had meaning. It was the perfect mood to decompress after all these different textures… a nice way to close the book.”

Envy Of None’s self-titled album is due for release on April 8 via Kscope.

The album will be released on the following formats and is available to PRE-ORDER HERE(https://eon.lnk.to/EnvyOfNone)

Tallah Announce New Album 'The Generation Of Danger'; Drop New Video For New Track "Telescope"

Nu-Core quintet Tallah, one of modern metal's most explosive and unbridled forces, have announced their sophomore full-length album, The Generation of Danger, today. The album will be released on September 9th, via Earache Records and much like their debut album, will revolve around around an elaborate and horrific story, dreamt up by the band that will unfold over the coming months in the build up to release. Pre-orders are available now, HERE.

To further push the world-building boundaries the band are known for, Tallah have also released a desktop video that accompanies today's announcement. Fans can play HERE to uncover aspects of the dark The Generation of Danger universe including the first new single 'Telescope' and its accompanying music video that was also released today. Watch the video below and find the track on streaming platforms HERE.

Speaking on today's announcement, Tallah frontman, Justin Bonitz shares

“'The Generation Of Danger' is a completely new and fresh concept for us, both lyrically and instrumentally. We wanted to take what made 'Matriphagy' so good and jack it up to 150%. The tracks are monstrous, daunting, and the story the music tells dives into the idea of people hiding what they truly desire until someone else comes along and forces it to surface. It's a concept album about a genius scientist who gets fed up with being swept under the rug. After the multi-billion-dollar corporation that employs him takes credit for his latest, award-winning invention, he snaps and retaliates against them by forcing them to take part in the greatest experiment the world of science has ever seen.”

Drummer, Max Portnoy adds

“Telescope is one of fastest and most chaotic songs on The Generation Of Danger. It was the first song I started working on for the record and it went through hundreds of changes. It’s one of my top picks from the album with the song having 2 different choruses. One being a melodic one and one with a more rap type of vibe. The song has a lot to offer.”

“The TGOD game was something I’ve been wanting to do since we started thinking of unique ways to present this album. It was an idea I hadn’t seen anyone do before and it’s the perfect way of setting up the album’s concept while offering loads of easter eggs and teasers. You’re essentially placed directly into the story and I feel it’s the most immersive thing we’ve ever done. I’m super proud of how it turned out.”

As with Tallah's debut full-length, Matriphagy, The Generation Of Danger offers fans more than just an album of pioneering nu-core metal. Whilst it will most certainly be lauded for Justin Bonitz's acclaimed aptitude for embodying numerous characters and emotions in his outstanding vocal shape-shifting and ability to meld the ever-blossoming ingenuity of Tallah's intrepid musicians, The Generation Of Danger will reward those who delve deeper into the album and its supplementary content. The album was recorded once more with producer Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studio and continues to build the fascinatingly dark nu-core metal beast Tallah have created and set loose.

In celebration of The Generation Of Danger, Tallah will be greeting fans old and new with a vast schedule of touring activity in 2022, starting with a mammoth 52 date trek with All That Remains, Miss May I and Varials on a US tour over March, April and May. Tickets Available HERE.

The band will also finally be hopping across the pond to Europe once more for Bloodstock Open Air and Brutal Assaultfestivals in August.

ABOUT TALLAH

Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2018 and combining the percussive force of second-generation drummer Max Portnoy with the pure, war-torn fury of vocalist and YouTube sensation Justin Bonitz, nu-core gang Tallah are on a mission to revamp and modernize the much-loved sound of popular nu-metal sensations of the early 2000s.

Drawing inspiration from the musical influences of their youth (the likes of Slipknot, Korn and Linkin Park), Tallah fuse the razor-sharp precision of these acts with the raw edges of modern hardcore music displayed by current sensations Code Orange, Vein, Candy and Fire From The Gods.

The band's debut album Matriphagy, a harrowing concept album of brutally disturbing metal, was met with critical acclaim, with Slipknot’s Knotfest crowning it “one of the best metal releases of the year” and Metal Hammer declaring Tallah are ‘leading the charge on the new wave of Nu-Metal”. Matriphagy was also devoured by the fans, with the album racking up 9 million Spotify streams in the months since its release.

2021 saw Tallah indulged fans with a colossal collaboration “Vanilla Paste” (where they were joined by members of the formidable Chelsea Grin, Fire From The Gods and Guerrilla Warfare), team up with Avatar for their North American tour in Sept/Oct 2021, hit up spots at major USA festivals such as Blue Ridge Rock Fest and Welcome To Rockville, and receive nominations for Best International Breakthrough Band at the UK's Heavy Music Awards and Best Live [Streamed] Act at the AIM Independent Music Awards.

Tallah's cruelly ferocious new album The Generation Of Danger, due for release on September 9th, 2022 via Earache Records will only serve to extend their fascinatingly dark nu-core metal further into the metal community.

Since its release, the band have clocked up 13.9 million streams and 5.7 million YouTube views on 'Matriphagy'. They have over 118,498 monthly Spotify listeners and have had tracks added to 25 Spotify editorial playlists.

Paris-based artist Julia Gaeta debuts powerful dark reverie-tinged single 'Weight of You'

"Brimming with a gloomy form of vibrancy, strongly rooted in darkwave, and combining elements of dreampop, shoegaze, trip hop, and industrial. It's an atmospheric listen, with a nocturnal character and an encompassing feeling of movement and sensuality" ~ Destroy//Exist

"A perfect debut... a love letter to Paris itself, which serves as a generous muse to Gaeta... dreamy Lynchian video" ~ Post-Punk.com

"A superb and mesmerizing high-octane track, which happens to be her debut offering as a solo artist, there's something magic here in the same way as we saw with Garbage, dreamgaze darlings Blushing or cult UK alternative pop band Curve"~ The Record Stache

Paris-based American artist Julia Gaeta presents her debut single 'Weight of You', an adrenaline-packed song inspired by the juxtaposition of dark reverie and grit that is Paris, tastefully combining sweeping hooks and industrial textures with ethereal sensuality and sultry grit.

A visual thinker, the coupling of music and visual aesthetics that Paris offered a rich palette of urban grime, dreamy neon and film noir cityscapes. For this single, Gaeta worked with renowned French synthwave artist James “Perturbator” Kent, who mixed, mastered and produced it. The accompanying video was directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker David Fitt, well known for haunting and vibrant images that blend storytelling and electric vibes.

Drawing from her love of pop, driving beats and thick atmosphere and with ample experience making heavy music, she has forged her own sound, having been a songwriter and performer with acts such as Dreamwheel, Albez Duz, Restless Ghosts, Light of the Morning Star and DIY guitar project Madrigal.

Her solo music came together serendipitously in an otherwise cursed 2020. After feeling stagnation creep up on her in Berlin, a city she called home for seven years after relocating from her native California, Gaeta began experiencing pain of all forms. Chronic and debilitating neck pain, paralyzing anxiety, and a veil of sadness that she could not lift. She moved to Paris for a change of scenery, but the city was promptly thrust into strict lockdown.

Confined to her sublet apartment, this music was inspired by late nights gazing out into the sprawling metropolis. The ghosts of Wilde, Chopin and Morrison may have lent their energies from Pere Lachaise cemetery in the backyard. Or maybe it was the strange neon-and-leather decor left behind by the owner of her temporary abode – a lamp that cycled through infinite neon colors; stains on the bed sheets; leather curtains and fetish boots in the closets. But something new in Gaeta had awakened as stories flowed through the long, narrow hallway, materializing into songs. A dreamy, dark quality was palpable on those nights – a kind of bird’s eye vantage point of the city’s collective struggle.

“‘The song 'Weight of You' brings the listener into a tempting world with no clear resolution. It’s really about the alluring addiction to painful love, whether with a person or a thing. If that something you love is broken, all you want to try to do is fix it. But it never works. This first single happens to be a little more in the chill, trip-hop vein without the more structured guitars, but make no mistake - this project isn’t limited to that sound. I think what unites everything is a marriage of heavier atmosphere with vocal hooks. I enjoy traditional pop structure songwriting with non-traditional sounds, industrial textures and a mix of both the gritty and ethereal," says Julia Gaeta.

"The video was shot in the Pigalle neighborhood of Paris, famous for its sex clubs and cocktail bars. Director David Fitt and I share a love for David Lynch and his hazy, dreamlike worlds of cabaret and sensual darkness. So the video is an homage to Lynch and Paris’s mix of grit and beauty, which always blows my mind and has helped me articulate, musically, the themes and songs from my upcoming EP.”

With an education in 90s rock, heavy metal, post-punk and goth rock, she also appreciates music with empowering female leads, ranging from grunge and ethereal to contemporary experimental, Avant-pop and even classical music (her parents both play in symphony orchestras). Gaeta's music is ultimately a melting pot of all these influences.

'Weight of You' is the first taste of her debut EP - an exploration of pain in various forms - which she plans to release later this year. As of March 9, the single is available everywhere, including Apple Music and Spotify, as well as directly from the artist via Bandcamp.

Miranda Lambert's Musical Journey PALOMINO Arrives April 29

For reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert, each of her seven consecutive No. 1 albums has presented a chance to explore a new theme while pushing herself across varying sonic landscapes. With the progressive 15-song album, Palomino, due Friday, April 29, Lambert has crafted a record that explores the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around.

A line from the first song written for the album perhaps sums up the project as a whole best: “there’s always been a stranger in my soul / who loves a good goodbye and a good hello,” she sings in “Tourist.” On Palomino, her inner stranger travels lyrically from Fort Worth to the Mojave Desert; Battambang, Cambodia to Maine; the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield to the Rocky Mountains and beyond. In each destination and with every character met along the way, Lambert’s freewheeling trek is a work of unbridled freedom and self-discovery without painful introspection.

“The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career,” reflects the woman who holds the title of most-awarded artist in ACM history. “Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby, and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we have time let’s get out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”

Her first solo album since 2019’s GRAMMY-winning Wildcard (despite a busy interim that included releasing the GRAMMY-nominated collaborative project The Marfa Tapes as well as Pistol Annies celebration Hell of a Holiday), Palomino opens with a slow build and a low-slung vibe on “Actin’ Up,” with the opening track serving as the first in a series of postcards from the road, images and moments, places seen and swallowed whole, characters you won’t forget... It’s all here in a brew of styles, sounds and wordplay that are absolutely Miranda.

Tapping longtime songwriting collaborators Luke Dick (Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves) and Jon Randall (Emmylou Harris, Dierks Bentley) to co-produce with her, Lambert once again pushes the envelope of what country music can contain. Whether the bump-and-grind thump of the one who can’t be extinguished on “I’ll Be Loving You,” the skunk weed strut of Marfa sessions’ revisited “Geraldene,” the gorgeously hushed vintage bar-room heartbreak of “That’s What Makes the Jukebox Play,” or the sunny life code that informs the ever-curious songwriter on “Tourist,” Lambert has fashioned a true song cycle, a journey of one woman questing for happiness and the folks she meets along the way.

There’s the go-lightly acousticness that suggests ‘80s Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on “Pursuit of Happiness,” the breezy Beyoncé-invoking Wild West truth of “If I Was A Cowboy” featuring the legendary Al Perkins on steel and the funky Deee-Lite meets Creedence Clearwater Revival trip down the Cumberland River on “Music City Queen” with the B-52s.

“Unthinkable things coming together,” marvels the woman who has won the Academy of Country Music’s Female Artist of the Year a record-setting nine consecutive times and the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year seven times. “When Natalie, who is such a bad ass singer and the kind of person who raises the cool in every room, started singing ‘Rollin’ on the river...,’ we were all like, ‘What if The B-52s sing on this?’ They loved the song. They Zoomed in with Luke and Jon and sang their part, which gives me so much joy. I missed their Zoom, ‘cause I was on a plane; but to ZOOM The B-52s into your record? Yes, please.”

With a core band of drummer Fred Eltringham (The Black Crowes), bass/keyboardist Ian Fitchuk (Sam Hunt, Joy Oladokun, Birdy) and guitarist Rob McNelley (Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart, Buddy Guy) joining, they worked close to the bone, exploring what the songs could be while retaining Lambert’s serious country flavors.

“I love everything about Marfa: some friends around a campfire, no fixes, no protocols, no filters. It was raw and real, and I wanted to take some of that with me,” remarks Lambert. “‘In His Arms,’ ‘Waxahachie’ and ‘Geraldene’ got to go on this journey with us, cutting them with a full band – and usually the public doesn’t get to hear that part, which I’m really excited about.”

The references tucked throughout the album – Little Feat’s “Willin’,” Bruce Hornsby and the Range’s “Mandolin Rain,” Emmylou Harris’ “Roses in the Snow” – create a treasure hunt for music fans of all ages. For Lambert, raised on a healthy diet of Texas icons, classic and modern country, rock & roll and pop radio as a girl, it’s how influences come together and pollinate each other that make Palomino so interesting and so fun.

When Dick suggested Mick Jagger’s “Wandering Spirit,” which he felt embodied the project’s manifest destiny, she knew it was a matter of making the song her own. Enlisting Sarah Buxton and The McCrary Sisters, known for their work with Bob Dylan, it became a feverish downhome gospel for ramblers of all stripes and stands tall as the only outside cut on the project.

Only Lambert & Co. could come up with the characters in the outrunning heartbreak boogie of movin’ on and makin’ friends found in “Scenes,” from a trucker named Dwayne to an old hippie named “Katie with a K.” Equally frisky are the big money earners on the quirky, barbwire plucky “Country Money” – whether the Carter Sisters and their good corn liquor, Connie Johnson and her cattle or Carol Jean the chicken egg queen, these ladies are making bank.

It’s that desire to taste it all, to explore the possibilities while sidestepping the statements and judgements that colors Palomino. And it’s not all happy-go-lucky stuff, even if it feels that way. Yearning and driving through the night on the sweeping “Waxahachie,” the tumbling “Strange” (available everywhere now) offers a more philosophical approach to being out of sorts. By “Carousel,” the almost lullaby closer, we meet Elaina, a former circus highwire walker/trapeze artist living in Nacogdoches as a mother and wife. With the exhaled truth of how she came to leave the circus – “She fell so hard because he always let her fly / Till he left her heart suspended in a cotton candy sky...” – with a broken heart she couldn’t heal, it speaks volumes about the multitude of lives most people contain.

For Lambert – and lovers of her wild-eyed country – Palomino is as much about the journey as the destination and the characters along the way.

"The founding fathers of American goth rock, Christian Death took a relentlessly confrontational stand against organized religion and conventional morality, with an appetite for provocation that made Marilyn Manson look like Stryper. Regardless of who was leading or performing in the group, Christian Death set themselves up to shock, both in their cover art and their lyrics, which wallowed in blasphemy, morbidity, drug use, and sexual perversity. Their self-consciously controversial tactics set them apart from the British goth scene, having more to do with L.A. punk and heavy metal, and thus the band dubbed its sound ‘death rock’ instead; however, their sensibility was ultimately similar enough that the ‘goth’ designation stuck in the end. Their music also relied on slow, doomy, effects-laden guitar riffs and ambient horror-soundtrack synths, and their theatrical performances were strongly influenced by British glam rockers like David Bowie and Roxy Music, as well as industrial provocateurs Throbbing Gristle. The latter was especially true of the band's first incarnation, led by vocalist and founder Rozz Williams, - When Williams left in 1985, guitarist Valor Kand took over leadership and sent the group in a more intellectual, political, and metal-oriented direction. A subsequent dispute over ownership of the Christian Death name lead many of their fans to take sides. Christian Death had an enormous influence on the American goth scene, shaping the sensibility of countless goth, metal, and even industrial acts that followed. Sadly, the Kand-Williams dispute ended in tragedy in 1998, when a heroin-addicted Williams took his own life.” ~ Steve Hue VH1, ROLLING STONE

There has been a ridiculously huge revolving door of membership in the Los Angeles band known as Christian Death. In the beginning, not long after the local California release of the first album, ‘Only Theatre of Pain,’ the band irrevocably and formally broke up. This left Rozz Williams at home with his overtly religious parents in Pomona, CA to contemplate his insufferable boredom, his only relief being found on the pages of his lyrics. After being invited to the record release party for Pompeii 99, a band already enjoying success in L.A., Rozz met band leader, singer and guitarist Valor Kand. Before long they were inseparable friends and Rozz was invited to join Pompeii 99. Together as Pompeii 99, while rehearsing for a planned European tour, the head of a French record label that Valor had been negotiating with, proposed the notion of renaming his band Christian Death. Neither Valor nor Rozz wanted to entertain this, however, the incentives proposed by the label eventually prevailed and thus Pompeii 99 was reborn as Christian Death. The second Christian Death album, ‘Catastrophe Ballet,’ which resulted from this deal, was recorded in Wales (UK) (a place where several future Christian Death albums were also to be born). A month before the release of Catastrophe Ballet, the French label head released a compilation which he called ‘Deathwish,’ comprised of previously recorded, unreleased outtakes and single tracks he had licensed.

Recording the second album was followed by the very first Christian Death tour which began in Paris and on to most European countries. The emotional stress of this first tour was hard on Rozz causing him to return to Los Angeles months before the other members, who remained in Europe. Upon Valor’s return to Los Angeles, work began immediately on the third album, ‘Ashes.’ Meanwhile, the release of a live album called ‘The Decomposition of Violets’ recorded in Hollywood was also released.

After the release of ‘Ashes,’ plans were underway for the second European tour when Rozz, just weeks before the first scheduled date in Italy, announced his plans to quit the band. With no intention of cancelling the tour, Valor returned to lead vocals, the bass player became the guitarist, and the guitar tech became the bass player; the tour proceeded as planned, but without Rozz.

Now fronted by Valor, the band relocated from California and settled in London, which they used as a base to tour Europe relentlessly in the midst of controversy, riots, bomb threats and protests by extremist Christian groups. Many concerts were canceled as a result of direct pressure by influential religious organizations.

From England, the band release nine more studio albums and four live albums in the territories of England, Germany, Italy, France, Japan and USA, with each release in each territory having different artwork, configurations and bonus tracks. Among these releases was the critically acclaimed album ‘Sex and Drugs and Jesus Christ,’ which depicted a controversial image of Jesus shooting heroin. The single ‘Church Of No Return,” which went to No.12 in the UK charts and ultimately landed the band numerous spots on MTV, VH1, Super Channel, BBC and countless other Euro television and radio shows. Meanwhile in the USA, Christian organizations began burning their albums in public and on Christian Television networks.

In 1994, Valor relocated Christian Death back to the USA, with the lineup centering around himself and Maitri on bass and vocals. “He returned with 1994's ‘Sexy Death God,’ which many longtime fans greeted as his best and tightest effort in quite some time.”~ Steve Hue VH1

Once again based in the USA, for the first time, it was possible to do full North American tours, of which there were many, which also included Mexico where the live album “Amen” was recoded at the first ever show in Mexico City for Century Media. Later to be followed by the studio album: ‘Pornographic Messiah,’ which was also recorded in Mexico, then mixed in Holland.

“In 2000, they added drummer Will "Was" Sarginson (ex-Cradle of Filth and Blood Divine) and toured Europe alongside Britain's Cradle of Filth, one of the more popular black metal bands of their time. The two groups got along well enough for several Cradle members to guest on Christian Death's 2001 album ‘Born Again Anti Christian,’ helping it become one of the most metallic records in their catalog.

“The following year, vocalist and bassist Maitri, by then the second most continuous member of Christian Death, issued her black metal-influenced solo album, ‘Lover of Sin’ (confusingly labeled on the cover as ‘Christian Death Presents...’). In 2003, Cradle of Filth guitarist Gian Pyres officially joined Christian Death for their European tour.” ~ Steve Hue, VH1

In response to the post 9/11 period, the album ‘American Inquisition,’ was recorded and released with Season of Mist. The tours for this album included new territories for the band: Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador. Australia, and New Zealand. Around this time, Christian Death released multitrack versions of several songs for the “Rock Band” video game series as well at that time bootleg figurines of both Rozz and Valor began to appear.

In 2012, Maitri released the second Lover of Sin album, ‘Horny Beast,’ which featured members of Nile, Morbid Angel and other popular death metal bands.

The following year, the band kicked off a full tour of The Americas that extended into 2014, with a full back catalogue digital global release. The year culminated with the band’s performance at Hellfest Open Air Festival, in which they supported Kiss, Rob Zombie, and Limp Bizkit.

With the 2015 release of 'The Root of All Evilution,’ the band hit the roas again that autumn in Europe, which continued into North America in 2016. The band again returned to Europe and drew the final curtain in Israel.

The song “Between youth” was re-released in 2017 and featured in the Vice TV series on HBO, ‘Balls Deep.’ Later, in Autumn 2017, Christian Death completed the longest North America Tour to date. The tour package included Lords of Acid, Combichrist, En Esch, and Night Club.

From 2018 onward, the band continued to dominate the world and perform throughout Europe and the United States, which included and appearance at the Cloak and Dagger festival in Los Angeles, CA as well as pulling off a mini-tour in 2021 despite a global pandemic. That same year, the band formed their union with Season of Mist and started to roll out the vinyl and CD reissues of all 16 studio albums, which included all new special editions and certain bonus features.

Now, the band is gearing up to release a brand new offering via Season of Mist, ‘Evil Becomes Rule.’ With the release of their 17th studio album, CHRISTIAN DEATH shows no signs of faltering or slowing down. The godfathers of death rock have simultaneously perfected and redefined their signature sound, which has served as a core inspiration for many bands of both the past and present, such as DANZIG, CELTIC FROST, and TYPE O NEGATIVE, to name just a few. ‘Evil Becomes Rule’ isn’t merely a musical endeavor, but an artistic expression that blends elements of gothic rock, post-punk, and dark pop, cultivating a poetic aesthetic that is certain to continue to influence the next wave of gothic rock.

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation & Tractor Supply Co. Donate Over $250,000 to Animal Shelters Across the U.S.

MIRANDA LAMBERT’S MUTTNATION & TRACTOR SUPPLY CO.
DONATE OVER $250,000 TO ANIMAL SHELTERS

Mutts Across America Program Makes Surprise Donation in Every State

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation and Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, teamed up to donate more than $250,000 to animal shelters across the United States. Through MuttNation’s Mutts Across America program, the organizations issued a surprise $5,000 donation to one shelter or foster-based rescue in each state plus Washington DC, as well as a “Wildcard” pick.

“With over 14,000 shelters and rescue groups in the US, and so many deserving of support, selecting just one in each state is always the biggest challenge,” said Bev Lambert, Miranda’s mother and co-founder of MuttNation, who conceived Mutts Across America eight years ago.

“Mutts Across America was MuttNation’s very first signature program. It lets us recognize the great work done by so many dedicated people helping shelter pets across the country,” added Miranda, the multiple GRAMMY, CMA, ACM artist and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year. “We’re so proud to have Tractor Supply Company as our partner. Together we are accomplishing so much and, thanks to their incredibly generous support, we’re able to make a real difference for tens of thousands of animals.”

Since the initiative’s inception, MuttNation’s Mutts Across America has supported more than 400 shelters with over $1.5 million in grants. Tractor Supply first partnered with MuttNation for the initiative in 2021.

“Our Tractor Supply team loves animals, and Miranda and Bev’s passion and enthusiasm for shelter pets is an inspiration,” said Seth Estep, Tractor Supply’s EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer. “The Mutts Across America grants can have a tremendous impact on the facilities that support these abandoned and neglected animals. We are honored to partner with MuttNation in this initiative to help these shelters perform this difficult but important work.”

MuttNation conducts countless hours of research before selecting the winning nonprofits. Organizations do not apply to participate and receive no advance notice of the award.

In addition to the Mutts Across America partnership, Tractor Supply is the exclusive retailer of MuttNation pet products and On The Farm pet food and treats. A percentage of all sales goes to the MuttNation Foundation to further support its mission to promote and facilitate the adoption of shelter pets.

I’m also delighted to be playing with the original members of the Graham Bonnet Band: Beth-Ami Heavenstone who has been my constant partner (on and off stage) since meeting back in 2012 and guitarist Conrado Pesinato, who’s innate musical style elicits some of my best songwriting. LORD OF THE LOST Set a Sign for Peace with New Song "Not My Enemy"

In Response to the War in Ukraine

As a direct reaction to the war in Ukraine, LORD OF THE LOST set a sign for peace and international understanding with new music. Shortly after the first attacks on Ukrainian targets became known, the band around Chris Harms set out to express their thoughts and feelings through a new song and to make a clear statement for peace. To release the song as soon as possible, the accompanying music video was shot by the band with selfie cams instead of their usual large-scale production.

Throughout the years, the German band has repeatedly taken steadfast positions on social issues and expressed their solidarity with disadvantaged groups of people.

LORD OF THE LOST WILL DONATE ALL PROFITS FOR THIS SONG TO REFUGEES FROM THIS WAR!

LORD OF THE LOST on the current conflict and "Not My Enemy":

"What's happening in the world right now is not a war of people. It's a war of the authorities. Civilians of different backgrounds are dying and suffering because of this war - inside Ukraine and outside. No human being chooses before birth within which borders they will be born. No border, which is held, moved or broken by the bloodhounds of the autocrats of this world, is worth that sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers hate each other and that innocent children are born and raised into these paradigms and ideologies. This hatred does not begin in a conflict like this, fueled by censorship, information warfare, and fake news - this hatred begins in the minds of each of us, as well as in the comment columns of increasingly anti-social networks. Especially in days like these, as well as in the years to come, it is even more important to understand that the only thing that separates us is what we allow to happen, yet at the core, everything unites us.

You’re not my enemy, you’re a part of me. You’re not my enemy, wherever you come from, whatever you look like and whatever you believe in. You’re not my enemy!

This song was created as an immediate reaction from us, shortly after the attack on Ukraine. We produced and released it as soon as possible in the hopes that it would touch and make people think. If even one person is reached with it, it was already worth it.”

#notmyenemy

“I don’t believe in their borders or sides

Our bond will never be torn by their fights”

Yes our mother tongue may be different

But our yearnings unify”

SOUTH OF EDEN Departs from Label with First Independent Single, "Lone Riders"!

Columbus, OH based Rock Band SOUTH OF EDENfollows up their blistering cover of the 1984 B-Side favorite "Drop Dead Legs" with their newest, classic rock gem "Lone Riders". Directed, Filmed, and Edited by John Payne, the ferocious, guitar driven new single was produced by front-man Ehab Omran and Jakob Mooney.

“We chose ‘Lone Riders’ as our first single because we felt the high-energy music and down to earth lyrics encapsulate everything about this band. It’s about being broke, overlooked, and over being on the outside looking in. You deal with it by getting high and watching life go by because you can’t afford to keep up with it.

It’s a mixture of a lot of things. We’re ‘classically rock’ influenced, but listen to so many different genres and eras that there are a lot of different feelings in our music.

When you hear us, I want you to walk away thinking, ‘That was honest and different'. We’re just doing what we do. We’re proof you can do anything you want and shouldn’t compromise your dreams.” - EHAB OMRAN (vocals)

Click to Purchase / Stream "Lone Riders" Online!

“We’re a band that writes, records, and plays like the pioneers of rock before us. We aren’t looking to bring anything back, but instead to remind people what rock n roll means. No rules. This music represents what we believe is real, raw music.”

South of Eden (formerly Black Coffee) are: Ehab Omran [lead vocals, acoustic guitar], Justin Young [lead guitar, vocals], Tom McCullough [drums], and Nick Fratianne [bass]. The Columbus, OH quartet have already performed alongside everyone from the Foo Fighters to System Of A Down, and invite you to join them on their journey of looking at rock ‘n’ roll through a modern lens.

“Our goal is to help open the doors for rock in the modern era. We want to sound the way we hear rock n roll in our heads; vintage with a sprinkle of today. The objective is to give listeners the feeling of discovering the genre for the first time. We think now is the moment to be a rock band.”

The band has already paid their dues to reach this point. Growing up in Columbus, OH the band formed by combining their passions and uniting over their love of music. Originally from the country of Jordan, Ehab primarily listened to the Arabic music his parents would play, in addition to superstars like Michael JacksonPhil Collins, and James Brown. After coming to America, he was introduced to a wider range of music that inspired him: eighties and nineties rock including Guns N’ Roses and notably Queen. Just like Freddie Mercury’s parents, Ehab’s parents didn’t agree that a life in rock ‘n’ roll was the best thing for their son. However, as he met the rest of the band, his dream became a life affirming reality.

Ehab and Nick performed together in various bands (channeling Iron Maiden,Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Alice In Chains) and eventually joined Justin and Tom who had been working on their own band (influenced by Van Halen and Black Sabbath). Justin, who was at the time attending Berklee College of Music, describes first writing with Ehab and noted “The first jam was crazy. He came over with Tom and just listened for a while. We had the riffs to songs, and he just immediately started singing. Here I had gone to music college to find people I could mesh with stylistically, only to come back home and find that my best friend and a singer that I had already known about were all I needed!”

The band has recently performed on high caliber Rock festivals including AftershockLouder Than Life, and Riff Fest and alongside bands like Evanescence & Alice CooperPuddle of MudRed Sun Rising10 YearsBlacktop Mojo.

On their previous record, The Talk, the musicians headed to Los Angeles to record with legendary GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Greg Wells [AdeleTwenty One PilotsDeftones]. “When I first heard the band, it had its own original identity,” explains Greg. “That was something I had waited years to find. I emailed them back saying, ‘I want to be your Mutt Lang’.”

When it came to recording, they honor the methods of those who come before them and “tape in a vintage way, with no click track, pitch correction, copy-paste, or any of that nonsense” and have kept the same approach on their newest release, "Lone Riders," produced by Ehab and Jakob Mooney.

Michael Ray Readies "Holy Water" for Country Radio

Michael Ray grew up in a family compound off a dirt road in the small town of Eustis, Florida, just a few miles from a tiny old country church where Sunday service would be held, where communion often carried over to tall tales of his grandparents’ days running moonshine up the East Coast.

“Back in the day, my family was part of building this little church off a dirt road. It’s the church my grandfather grew up in, my dad grew up in and then pastored, we grew up in it, and now, my sisters are working to rejuvenate it,” shares Ray. “‘Holy Water’ takes me right back to being a boy in that church, sitting in a wooden pew listening to some of the greatest truths I hold onto to this day.”

Featuring swampy percussion and finger picking, the hitmaker readies “Holy Water” for Country radio, going for adds Monday, March 7, following his fourth No. 1 and first multi-week chart topper “Whiskey And Rain,” from his seven-song collection Higher Education.

Written by Ashley Gorley, Hunter Phelps, Ben Johnson and Michael Hardy, “Holy Water” is an engrossing story song that follows a Florida preacher and his lucrative midnight side hustle, while the first lines alone offer a prime example of Ray’s ability to sing mouthfuls of detail with the smooth, unhurried delivery of a veteran storyteller:

Somewhere inside them back Florida pines there’s a town with a Choctaw name
There’s a little white church in a real tight curve on the edge of a field full of grain
Yeah, the preacher was a stand-up man shaking hands every Sunday morning at the door
He loved his congregation, but he ran an operation selling more than the word of the Lord

“I love it when you can hear a song, close your eyes and see exactly what they’re saying,” Ray explains. “I am just naturally drawn to those songs.”

On Higher Education, “Ray found a refuge in the mere act of making music that tells his imperfect story, a story that so many people in this world can certainly relate to during these crazy days,” PEOPLE observes, while American Songwriter emphasizes “Higher Education is shaped by the muse of the man Ray hopes to be, and the lessons he’s learned along the way… inviting his listeners into his world, pulling back the curtain on who he is off the stage.”

The Florida-native has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents and over 100 million YouTube views. Along with his four No. 1 singles, Ray has a total of six RIAA certifications: Platinum-certified “Think A Little Less,” and Gold-certified songs “Whiskey And Rain,” “Her World or Mine,” “One That Got Away,” “Get To You” and “Kiss You in the Morning.”

About Michael Ray
For Michael Ray, music is his grandfather singing and sweating on a rural Florida stage. It’s the childhood refuge he found during the pain of his parents’ divorce. Ray has garnered over 1 billion global streams, over 650,000 album equivalents, over 100 million YouTube views and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry over 60 times. His next single “Holy Water” goes for adds at Country radio on March 7.
